If someone ask Karin to describe herself in the class at orientation day, she'll immediately pull this line out: "I'm Takamiya Karin, I'm not interested in befriending anyone, nor interested in any group activities, that's all". Karin is best described as 'cold', 'indifferent' and 'very rebellious'. She have little humor and doesn't like idle chatter. Stemming from the past, she hates to be in group, and hates to be approached by people that want to be friends with her.
Despite the highly unpleasant side, Karin can hold proper conversation, but it's very distant and formal at best. She prefer talking to someone that is completely strangers rather than someone that have connection to her (ie, being in same class, came from the same city). Yet, toward her old friends from elementary school, she maintained very friendly personality and tries to hides her ordeal.
Toward her partner, both have mutual understanding that 'they're doing this just because the fate chained them to'. Because both have sad past of being betrayed, they maintained strange partnership like a mercenary to a master instead of full partners. While they suspicious of each other, they understand each others' fear of betrayal and tried their best to lick each other's wound.

Being a (genetically) half Japanese, half American, Karin have straight dirty blond hair that reaches her hip and blue eyes. Apparently, most find her gaze sharp and unkind. She have slender body and white skin. No matter what the clothes she wear, usually, she'll always wear black cat-head modeled bandanna (like Sayo from Digimon World Dawn/Dusk, just colored black). Karin generally carries herself with scowl on her face.
Generally, Karin wears clothes that generally aimed for boys instead for girls. Her most favorite wear includes loose blue jeans and red tank top with rose prints on the hem. Sometimes, she wears leather wristband on her right wrist. She never really wears skirt other than for formal purpose (such as school) or when situation dictates it. While it's rarely seen, she have rhodonite necklace from her late maternal grandmother.

Born as the only daughter of Takamiya Family. Her maternal grandparents were American immigrants. Bullying and something like namecalling, hairpulling and such are very common to her, too common that she stopped caring. However, that wasn't all about her life. In elementary school, while it's similar, she's much happier than the present. She have quite numbers of friends in and outside the class. In particular she have close friends named Koharu and Mika. Thanks to Koharu, too, she joined a small group that she can feel ease at. While it also includes upperclassmates, she doesn't feel alienated at all. The group of six; she, Koharu, Ryouta, Koutarou, Yuuki and Keigo- soon becomes really close.
However, that moment must end when the six of them goes on different path at middle school period despite she can meet Yuuki anytime because they're neighbors. Karin choose same school as Mika and soon begin her middle school life. She hoped, despite her social awkwardness, she'll get more friends, although she is ready if the elementary school bullying repeated again.
Sadly, it gets worse. In middle school, forming groups more apparent. Strong group oppresses the weak. When she's labelled as 'different', she's excluded from the class. Because she's different, she becomes the target. Even Mika, someone she trusted so deeply, betrayed her in fear of being bullied also. This shaped her personality to the present one.

PawnChessmon, while supposedly is a new Digimon, strangely have data from other Digimon upon her creation, a militaristic Digimon that left alone by its friend despite its pleas for them to not leave it alone. While at first bitter that she born as 'Pawn' which means to be used and discarded afterward, PawnChessmon strives to be strong to not being abandoned nor used again. Initially, she very businesslike to her partner, but later on, they gained mutual understanding.
PawnChessmon hates the name 'Pawn', so everytime she's in this form, she requested to be called 'Chessmon' instead. Despite her overally serious attitude, she have a side that loves to toss cold, merciless jokes.

- Rose Twister: Sends flurry of rose petals to the enemy, significantly decreases their attack strength and accuracy for two turns. Cooldown for three turns
- Lightning Walk: Instantly zaps in front of enemy while leaving trails of haze-like aftereffect. Any enemies that is on close proximity to her line of move will be slashed once. Cooldown for one turn.
- Plasma Lattice: Crusadermon creates net-like wall that shoots out straight from her direction. Doubles as enemy swatter. Any enemies that came upon contact will be pushed aside.
- Sudden Fear: Instantly zaps in front of her enemies and punches enemy with it's pile bunker. Successful attack will materialize Rhodo Blade that lasts two turns. Rhodo Blade is only the stronger version of the plasma blade she mainly uses for attack, colored red. Cooldown for three turns if Rhodo Blade materializes. If not, cooldown for one turn.
- Rondo of Swords: Attacks with her blade-like ribbons four times, finished with slash from laser blade from her pile bunker.
- Scarlet Tempest: Create a prison of red tempest that locks a particular enemy's movement for two turns by materializing around the said enemy. Enemy may not be attacked physically. Magical damage done to it decreased. Aerial attack, however, is still permitted. Attempting to break through the twister will cause some damage. Three turns cooldown.
