"I see digimons could have same problems with personalities just as humans do. That's sad. Creators of this world could make digimons behavior different, free of bad traits humans' personalities have. But they didn't. Why? For some reason, I thought this world is ideal. But... I know how it feels, Mandrake.". Swiss ninja concluded, rejecting to tell he had a similar experience long ago. Just like his military service, it was a very sensitive topic, yet Hans wasn't sure if it needs to be told. It would be a story far less enjoyable. "Now, you can rest, all of you. If I said I'm going to stay, then it will be. I keep my promises. Besides... I have issues with sleeping when outside of the home."
"You didn't say you had such problems. How come?". Renamon asked surprised. It was true, that her master didn't reveal things like that. Part of that was is that Walzman didn't consider it necessary.
"Well, there were moments in my service when people for nightly patrols were needed. First I volunteered, then my mind decided being nocturnal is fine. That's interesting how life changes at night. I'm curious if it's the same about this world.". Hans stated, as his memories were refreshing with moments when he had had good times with his brothers in arms. That's because at weekend they were gathering together and were having fun till the deep night until only Walzman stay. This night was the first since then.

"Unfortunately such hatred is another way humans and digimon are alike. I guess no world is perfect. All we can do is try to make things better." Mandrake said as he looked down at Lilly. She had finished eating and had begun to yawn. It seemed between hatching and filling her belly that the little one had worn herself out.
Lifting Lilly into one hand and carrying his uneaten fish in the other he stood up and walked over to the thermal blanket her egg rolled off of and set the child upon it before spotting his cape laying also on the blanket. Using his telekinesis he arranged his cape around the young Jyarimon while Lilly yawned again. Smiling at the hatchling he then walked back over to where Lothar was sitting and eating his food. Sitting down next to Lothar, Mandrake began eating as well and when they finished, Mandrake looked at Hans and said "Not everyone is comfortable with sleeping at night nor are they always comfortable with sleeping outdoors. I just became accustomed to it from my time traveling around since there isn't always access to a hotel every where."
Lothar, meanwhile, was rooting through his bag and pulling out another thermal blanket from within. As he set it up he said "We should restock our first aid kit soon, Mandrake. Probably best to do that when we reach your father's."

"I'd love to see how she'll look like on her next evolution. Lilly, I mean.". Hans said, standing on his feet as Mandrake walked back. Now it was a question on where, or rather, how to dispose of the garbage. Maybe, the Digital World does it on its own? If the world was created so good then it should have ways to perform its cleaning. So to check his theory, Hans simply approached the lake and threw out fish remains in the water. If he was true, this world will take care of that. There were no trash bins anyway, so the Swiss guy had not had too much to choose from. Then, after he returned, Hans added. "I'm going on top of these trees to start my night watch. So everyone else, have a good night and thanks for the fish. Kitsune, what about you?".
"I'll stay right here, just in case.". The vixen replied as she was too much time inside the Digivice, so her decision was reasonable. Hans just nodded in response and went climbing onto trees. As always, he learned some new things today and needed to process them.

"Since the process of digivolution isn't always obvious Lilly could become lots of different forms." Mandrake said as he turned to look at the hatchling that was starting to fall asleep from the warmth she was wrapped in.
"Your evolution line so far has been proof of that since a certain circumstance resulting in us reaching ultimate was quite a surprise for both of us." Lothar said with a chuckle remembering how Mandrake had gone from wizard to magical knight in that adventure. All because he unknowingly copied the data of his sword. When Hans thanked them for the fish Lothar then said "It was no problem, Hans, we had extra and it didn't seem like you or Kitsune had any food with you and digimon don't fight to well if hungry so we'll be ready incase trouble shows up."
As Hans began climbing a nearby tree Lothar laid down and Mandrake scooted over and snuggled up to his boyfriend. The pair had gotten used to sharing a blanket at night so it wasn't so weird for the pair. Soon the pair had drifted off to sleep.
After several hours had passed life began to stir in the woods making its was heading for the clearing where the group was. As it got closer Mandrake jerked awake and woke Lothar in the process but before Lothar could ask what was wrong Mandrake opened up a telepathic link to Hans, Kitsune, and Lothar and over it said "Everyone we aren't alone. Be on guard."

It has been several hours when Hans reconsidered what he discovered during the talks with two friendly Digimons. Apparently, he still didn't know enough about this world and its wonderful creatures (to an extent). But considering what Hans had in his diary, where he reflects his knowledge and thoughts as he travels across the Digital World, the overall progress was good. He was even pondering if Renamon was attached to him forever. She was beautiful and thus, Hans didn't need anyone else to feel happy. There were more interesting questions about his bond with the digital beast, however, the Swiss guy wasn't sure if he can ask anyone about them. From one side, it was too personal, but from the other, Walzman needed those answers. His curious mind demands it and will be until those questions won't be answered. Unfortunately, he won't get them today as his mind was interrupted by Mandrake's mental contact. A moment later, the source of his concern made its presence known.
First, it was sounding like local surroundings had their digital version of crickets. But the volume was increasing at an alarming rate, changing to buzzing. From his position, Hans noted three figures which were closing distance among the trees. That forced the guy to pull out his Digivice and use its scanner. The figures approaching them were three Flymons, which were Champions. It was bad news as actions must be taken immediately, so Hans resolved to descend for planning as the company had some minutes before they'll be discovered.
"We got a company, three Flymons. I suggest to hide and attack only if they'll refuse to leave us. We don't want to drag Lilly in it, right?". The ninja asked once he got on the ground.

Mandrake's telepathic message to the others recieved he scrambled over to the improvised nest where the hatchling was seeing her starting to fuss. Lifting her into the crook of one arm with his telekinesis he softly tried to shoosh her which seemed to be only partly successful. Though she was now quiet tears were still streaming from her blue eyes as she snuggled Mandrake as if she sensed something was wrong. Returning to Lothar's side he saw his boyfriend's ears were flicking clearly picking up the buzzing heading their way.
When Hans dropped out of the tree he was in he notified it was three Flymon coming their way. A fight with bee digimon could tend to get ugly but it made both Mandrake and Lothar wonder what a group of bee digimon were doing away from the comforts of a hive at this hour of the night. "I agree with moving out of sight as a fight with bee digimon of any level can get unpleasant due to their serrated stingers and I doubt any of us would enjoy being pin cusions for stingers that large." Mandrake said pointing away from the oncoming Flymon directing them to bushes that would conceal them from sight. Hopefully the Flymon would move on somewhere else shortly. When they were sufficiently concealed but still able to watch the camp they bided their time and waited.

Hans managed to jump into the bushes right before Flymons entered the place where the company of heroes made their camp. Digital insects saw nothing, but leftovers of the camp. That could tell them there was someone not long ago, but they were not smart enough to make such a connection. Walzman made an assumption, that those Flymons were just a bunch of bored Digimons who seek a casual fight, but not when he pick some words from their chirping. He didn't hear all of their stuff because of the distance, but he managed to hear 'Feral Tribes' phrase, which was a key at the moment. That meant it was the hostiles Hans looking for and about to find them prior to Lothar and Mandrake's appearance. It's supposed to be Hans' problem, but not anymore. Besides, dealing with three Champions alone would present a significant issue for a Rookie, if not worse.
"Digimons' presence is strong here. Spread out and find a good spot. We've got an ambush to set.". One of Flymons commanded, fading away with one of his mates. That left one of the insects here, opening a good opportunity to attack it. But Hans wasn't so confident as the foe could injure Lilly in the process and shouldn't happen under any circumstances. Moreover, other Flymons could hear the fight and join, which would make everything much harder. That means there should be another way to deal with the hostile Flymon.
"Can you make him go away with your mind tricks? Just to take away Lilly somewhere safe.". Hans suggested in a whisper, still observing the foe. Maybe if Lilly can be taken away, the trio of digimons can deal with the lone Champion and then with the rest. At least Mandrake and Lothar's kid won't be threatened if things go wrong.

Lothar flicked his ears as he picked up two words 'Feral Tribes' Who were these guys and were they the digimon Hans was seeking? Turning to whisper to Hans he quietly asked "Who and what are these Feral Tribes? Neither Mandrake or I have heard of them before."
This was true and while it wasn't uncommon for feral digimon to live in groups they usually kept to themeselves often acting no different then wild animals. These Flymon, though not all that bright, were too intelligent when compared with the average feral digimon.
Lilly was clearly frightened but Mandrake had managed to keep her from crying loudly by gently rocking her or rubbing the area between her ears. Then he looked at Hans and whispered "I think I have an illusion that will drive them away and if it doesn't work I already have a plan B." Mandrake then placed Lilly in the crook of one of Lothar's arms before looking at the campsite where the remaining Flymon was before he whispered "Magical Game!"
In the sky above the clearing the cry of a bird was heard and what looked like a firey phoenix in the sky before it disspated revealing a pair of Garudamon landing in the clearing. Sure it was merely an illusion but one that arrived with a flare all its own.

Mandrake's trick worked as intended. The lone Flymon had said something about where those Garudamon have come from but eventually didn't resolve to attack. Mostly because he knew he'll lose and thus needs assistance from his buddies. That made Hans pondering how much time the company of heroes got before the trio of feral digimons return. They might decide to attack illusions as Flymons are known for their ill temperament and quick picking a fight. But for now, they were safe and this was a good moment to tell about those Feral Tribes. Mandrake and Lothar needed to know about the enemy.
"It was a tense moment, I should admit." Hans stated, shifting his position as all this time he was lying on his stomach to reduce his visibility. "From what I know, Feral Tribes are digimons who never managed to become 'civil', so to speak, or they were rejected by cities. In the end, they're either joining a tribe or a tribe finds them. They have no rules inside their ranks, meaning they're barbaric in nature. At the same time, they have somewhat a feudal system, where each tribe is led by a war chief. So those Flymons can belong to some tribe, but their demise won't bring much attention as chiefs don't care about the affairs of other tribes. At the same time, half of them are far from being silly so that needs to be accounted for. That's what I heard from Piyomon with who I work along in Gigabite cafe. Her father managed to escape from their slavery pens, so he shared his experience. If we're going to deal with Flymons, you need to hide your kid where those ferals won't touch her."
If anything, the company needed to act fast as the buzzing could be heard. Although, it was unclear if those digital bees were about to return or simply decided to wait when they'll be attacked.

As Mandrake suspected the Flymon seemed hesitant to attack the illusion of the Garudamon pair which made sense. One of the natural predators bees had in the Human World were birds so it seemed such instincts also applied to bee digimon but with the buzzing picking up it seemed these pests wouldn't just go away with use of illusion alone.
It was likely these pests were low ranking members of a feral tribe but even then Mandrake didn't want to kill them. "I don't believe in killing no matter how evil a digimon may be because I value all life but I agree that the Flymon are not just a danger to us but to Lilly as well. Fortunately they are only champions so I think it may be time for Plan B." Mandrake said as he took hold of Lilly and leaned down much like Hans to make himself less visible.
"What is this plan you have in mind, Mandrake?" Lothar asked looking confused.
"Simple, old friend, there are only three Flymon so they would be no threat to one mega digimon. I was thinking since your mega form is more intimidating you can scare them away while the rest of us find a better place to to hide before Kitsune and I rejoin you." Mandrake explained before looking at Hans and said "I hope you wouldn't mind hiding with Lilly until getting the all clear, Hans"
Lothar began moving closer waiting for the right moment to make his move. Hopefully he could give a good scare to all three Flymon when the time came.

"I'm okay with not killing those Flymons, but we need to make them go away from here for a long time. Because tomorrow they can return. Just be aware, that those ferals act against common sense.". Hans added as the buzzing was intensifying. From the company's position, the insects could be seen in the distance, so not much time left to act. "Actually, let's find a spot where I and Lilly won't be reachable. I think bushes behind us can be a good place. Renamon, help Lothar if those muckety-mucks decide to mess with us."
"Attack us now and you'll never know what we know. It's about Rosewood and Terminus City. Not like we care about those snobs, but we think you do.". One of the Flymons chirped just as the rest of them appeared in the clearance and it looked like his speech was addressed to the illusory Ultimate. Their behavior was a surprise as Hans expected them to attack Mandrake's illusion, yet they switched to diplomacy. Since when the barbaric tribes have turned to it? They were known for anything but not negotiations. If not two cities, Hans wouldn't care about those three, but ignoring their propose wouldn't be wise.
"Continue." Kitsune said, who managed to sneak behind the illusion and now it looked like the phantom was talking.
"Some of the tribes started to behave weird, up to spikes of extreme aggression toward their allies. After some time, they seemed to fall into a coma. Later on, we've observed some trading between some of us and people from those cities. The only thing we've seen is a white powder. We wanted to set an ambush here as we knew a trade was supposed to happen here, but it seems we're late. We thought it was you. Can we go now?". A Flymon told, hoping to get out of here. His story would sound like they were trying to postpone their decommission, but then Hans recalled he had seen very suspicious activity in recent nights. Then, in the morning, those digimons were found unconscious. So apparently, that Flymon was telling truth, even though it's an extremely rare occasion.

Mandrake looked at the spot that Hans indicated and nodded grateful for his short stature for once has he rose just enough to make his way to the indicated hiding place and when he reached there he saw Kitsune had his herself behind one of the Garudamon illusions. Not the best idea since his illusions would soon vanish so he hoped the Renamon knew what she was doing.
Lothar, seeing what Kitsune did and moved behind the other Garudamon illusion to back her up since he knew himself Mandrake's illusion would soon fade, then said "This powder sounds like a dangerous drug if it is having such a dire effect on your people. Maybe we can track down the shipment and hopefully not only stop it but destroy it before it reaches your tribe." Lothar's voice was coming from the other Garudamon filled with concern for any potentially innocent digimon suffering. "If you tell us what we're looking for you and your companions are free to go."
Hopefully the Flymon would not freak out as Mandrake's illusion faded revealing Lothar and Kitsune hidden behind the illusions of the Garudamon pair. If they did become agressive, however, then Lothar was ready.

"We do know there are farms where this thing, called as 'Stardust', is being farmed. We heard they're located somewhere in Cipher Jungles. As for distributors and buyers, you'll just have to seek traders in less populated places of cities. When you find one, ask something to 'forget the reality and bring you to the stars'. That's all we know.". One of Flymons replied, not being bothered by the fact that Garudamons have disappeared. Renamon realized she was in a wrong position, hence moved behind a tree trunk, so only Lothar was on the scene. Regardless, the trio of insects knew they just revealed something important to strangers, but since they can't revert what they did, the only thing they got is to accept the truth. Flymons were aware that none from the tribes is capable to summon illusions. Still, they weren't sure if this was a trap to catch them, so they resolved to hurry things. However, their tone changed to a bit arrogant. "We don't care if you've made those things or not. We told you what we wanted, what you'll do with this is your concern. Bye."
"Shall we trust them? If so, how come drugs appeared in your world? Humans use those things as a very extreme sedative, but I'm sure digimons don't suffer depression or similar moods, right?". Hans asked shortly after Flymons faded away as fast as they could. The tamer had several theories on how drug production came into this world, but they all need to be checked. Although, that sounded like a good practice to shape his ninja skills. Hunting for those distributors will surely need a curious mind and swift hands. "Anyhow, things have just become interesting, isn't? Nothing ever goes easy."

Thankfully the Flymon didn't suddenly become physically hostile though Lothar wouldn't blame them if they did. Fear could cause digimon or humans alike to do some strange things. So this drug was produced in less inhabited parts of cities and it was called Stardust. From what was heard it sounded like a dangerous drug indeed. So dangerous they had a code for those looking for it. 'Forget the reality and bring you to the stars.' Lothar thought as the thought of the drug being used by more than the Feral Tribes made him shudder but it was barely visible and he was able to recover quick.
Looking at the Flymon he said "My boyfriend made the illusion to scare you three off but we wouldn't of had to if you didn't invade our camp. Thanks for the information though and like I promised you can leave." As the Flymon left Lothar looked briefly where Kitsune hid herself.
"We should be wary to trust those who were ransacking the camp. Yet the information we aquired does concern me. Concerning the drugs they are one of the ways humans and digimon are alike and a drug like this hardly sounds like it's being used for medicinal purposes." Mandrake said while Lilly was softly squeaking in distress. Mandrake then got up as the Flymon not only faded from visible sight but he couldn't sense them mentally either and headed over to Lothar who was fixing the mess the Flymon had made of their camp. "Indeed, Hans, it seems life is never dull and with that drug around combined with these Feral Tribes we should be on guard."

" I just hope no one will disturb us anymore, so we can finally have a rest. Then in the morning Renamon and I are going to start investigating those drug sources in Rosewood. But I'm not sure about Terminus City because it's too far, so you're welcome if you want to assist. As for now, I'm going to continue the watch. Just in case. In case I'll fall asleep - that was nice to meet you all again. Perhaps, we should cooperate more often. I like it.". Hans announced once the company of heroes was left alone and proceeded with climbing onto a nearby tree. Kitsune resolved to do so as well and joined Hans' company shortly after. Renamon knew how her master liked to be next to her, so her actions were totally understandable. But as the night would fade away, Mandrake and Lothar will notice that the couple would fell asleep.
