Digimental Training! [Kshin]
|
Post by Solaire and Terrance on Oct 12, 2021 6:07:51 GMT
Solaire and Terrance are practically bouncing as in their steps as they clutch onto their digimentals. Solaire carrying one that looks like a golden visor, and Terrance carrying one that looks suspiciously like a shoe despite being a thick egg. The two are quite pleased with themselves, and look back to see if Kshin and Grace are following them still.
"So, Senpai! I didn't see you carrying one around. Did you just integrate it once you used it for the first time?" Solaire asks as he suddenly slides to a stop and turns to face the direction they had come from. It was quite a walk from the Valley of Dragons, but given that out here there's very little actively going on, it seemed that here was as good of a place as any to see if they can get used to their new powers... once they learn how to activate them.
Terrance plants his feet firmly in the dirt and holds up the Digimental of Truth to the sky, looking up at it pensively... Entirely uncertain as to what it could possibly mean. Was Truth really the ideal he held most dear to himself? Or is it merely the first Ideal that he should hold to as he grows? He seems to actually be considering what the Digimental means, while Solaire is just excited to try out powers.

Kshin, who had returned to his rookie form of Gumdramon when they cleared the ruins, and Grace were walking with Solaire and Terrance. Grace was walking with a lot of pep in her step as if the Dracomon twins' excitement was contagious to her. Kshin, however, was more curious of what forms Solaire and Terrance could access with the digimentals.
Solaire came to a stop asking if Kshin had integrated with his digimental since he wasn't carrying it. Kshin then answered "Yeah I integrated with my digimental after I became Sorcerimon for the first time. Perhaps that is just a normal thing for digimon without tamers or generals."
"I remember when I saw it for the first time. It was icy blue and had a snowflake carved in it." Grace said as she looked back on the recent memory. Her eyes were twinkling with the same energy as the rest of her.
So how was he supposed to go about teaching them what to do next? Kshin was quietly puzzling it out like he had been when they left the ruins.

Solaire nods. Yep, self-integration to avoid having to carry it around all the time makes sense. He looks his own Digimental over before holding it aloft and screwing up his face a bit in concentration. Time to do what Kshin did! "Digi-Armor... ENERGIZE!"
There's a brief pause.
And another pause.
And another.
"...Why isn't anything happening?" Solaire looks himself over, then looks at the Digimental. He lowers it back down and shakes it. "...Digi-Armor! Energize!" He then thrusts it up again, but still, no reaction. Solaire is very deeply confused now.
Terrance taps his chin after a moment. "...Hey Solaire, you knew a lot about how like... the meaning of the Digimentals really meant for Luna...?"
"Yeah?"
"...Any thoughts on that?"
Solaire shrugs, shaking the Digimental again. "...Come on..." Solaire then looks at Kshin with a face full of confusion.
Terrance sighs and looks at his Digimental this time. He nods gently, as if coming to an understanding. But he too then looks at their fellow -dramon, so lost in thought.

Solaire tried to activate the digimental by saying Digi Armor Energize but nothing happened which understandably confused the young Dracomon. Then Solaire repeated himself and again nothing happened. Kshin watched as Solaire then thrust the digimental up again becoming more confused. Maybe Kshin could help but he needed more information.
"That's weird. Why would the digimental not respond? I thought Digi Armor Energize were the magic words so to speak." Grace said her face scrunched in confusion that mirrored Solaire's. Was there more to digimentals than she thought there were? She then began scratching her head as she looked as if she was trying to figure this mystery out.
Kshin watched Solaire shaking the digimental again before he said "Well Solaire, your digimental represents Justice and Terrance, yours represents Truth. Maybe you have to think of something pertaining to the crest on the digimental. That and maybe focusing on the power the digimentals emit as well will help. I'm not totally sure since my digimental doesn't seem to have a meaning that I can deduce."

Solaire scrunches his face up again as he looks at the Digimental. "...I... I dunno, Senpai." He rubs the back of his head. "Like, being a knight in the service of justice is kinda my main goal, that's why I'm so confused. I basically live and breathe it, don't I?"
Terrance's pensive face settles to one of understanding. He steps forward and holds up his Digimental. "...Digi-Armor... EnerGIZE!" He calls out, and the Digimental starts to glow brightly! The light then flows down from the Digimental and overtakes Terrance in a glowing envelope.
"Dracomon, Armor Digivolve to-!"
The envelope grows bigger. Quite a bit bigger in fact!
"Raidramon... the Shocking Revelation of Truth!" A much deeper voice rings out from the envelope, and the light shatters into little shards before fading, revealing the now much bigger Raidramon, kinda looming over the Rookies in the area. He's about twice the size of a real world wolf, and he seems to bear a grin on his face, eyes wide.
"...Whoa. This... This power is awesome. I can feel it rushing through me!" Terrance looks himself over and then looks at Solaire. "...See?"
Solaire looks at Terrance, jaw dropped. He then looks at Kshin, and then the Digimental in his hands... and frustration seems to grow beneath the surface. But Solaire bites his tongue for now as Terrance starts bounding around, looking for all the world like a giant puppy preparing to properly zoom!

Kshin began scratching his chin as he ran Solaire's words through his head. Yes the young Dracomon lived and breathed justice itself with his knight training but still the digimental didn't respond to him. However it seemed Terrance had no trouble as he activated the Digimental of Truth and armor digivolved into Raidramon.
Now, as Raidramon, Terrance towered over the others and in no time was running around like a hyper active puppy with Grace running with him taking pictures of the armored dragon as he ran around while she giggled. Then Kshin focused his attention back on Solaire who was looking frustrated and who could honestly blame him? His brother was now running in armor form and Solaire was unable to make the Digimental of Justice work.
Justice? Though Solaire lived and breathed it twenty four seven, what did justice mean to him? Could that be the answer to the problem. "Hey Solaire, I just had an idea but I don't know if it will work. Justice means different things to different people but what does justice mean to you? Maybe if you think of that then the digimental will activate." Kshin said. Sure he was probably grasping at straws but it was the first thing that made sense to the young Gumdramon at the time.

Solaire looks at the Digimental and sighs gently. "...It... It means that those who do harm, regardless of what the law is, get their just desserts. Whether that's imprisonment or rehabilitation... or deletion." He looks at the Digimental and sees no reaction. No spark of connection. Solaire lets out a soft sigh. "...I don't understand. It floated to me, clearly I'm meant to have it. What is it that it wants?! What do you want from me, you stupid hunk of digital junk!" He shakes the Digimental again furiously before dropping his arms, leaving the Digimental to rest against his little legs.
Terrance skids to a stop, actually leaving tracks in the ground from his unexpected weight as he does so and looks at Solaire, giving a soft whimper. He didn't mean to frustrate Solaire by being able to bond with his Digimental so quickly. But he also doesn't know what to say to help. Terrance just... clicked with it. The previous adventures they've had so far, between their own hunt and Luna's, has made Terrance understand what he can do as far as pursuing the truth. But what can that offer for Solaire? He looks at Grace, a face of helplessness coming over him.

Kshin watched as Solaire once again tried to tap into the digimental following his suggestion but again the digimental didn't so much as slightly respond. Solaire began shaking the digimental furiously before he dropped his arms. When Terrance stopped moving Grace nearly ran into him but then noticed Solaire looking upset and Kshin looking lost on what to do. Grace turned to look at Terrance seeing a helpless look on his face.
She was not one to enjoy seeing such sadness and made her way over to Solaire carefully before gently resting a paw on Solaire's shoulder before she said "Don't be upset, Solaire. You'll figure out how to activate the digimental. You know like the riddle in the ruins. Maybe the digimental is testing you somehow, I don't know." Grace then reached over to pull Solaire into a brief hug before letting go and backing away before she said "You are not only a brave knight but you and Terrance are also very smart and kind digimon."

Solaire leans into the hug a little, but he doesn't lift his head. Once the hug is dropped, he huffs. "...Then why is this not making sense?" He sighs and grumbles a bit. "...Like... ...I don't know..." The blue brother (which on second thought is no longer quite an accurate way to describe him since Terrance is now blue under the black armor pieces) then growls and shakes the Digimental again. "Fine, screw it. I don't need the dumb thing!" He then drops himself onto the ground, and firmly plants the Digimental in the grass in front of him and stares it down... as if he'll manage to intimidate it into functioning. "...Senpai, just... help Terrance get used to his new power, I guess. It'll be a better use of this time than worrying about me."
Terrance lets out a softer whimper seeing Solaire so distraught. He'll figure it out, surely... Right? Terrance looks at Grace. "...Thank you for trying, Grace." Terrance says, looking down a bit.

When Solaire threw the digimental in the grass and glared at it Grace said "No Solaire, don't give up. Please keep trying." Her paws then clutched her chest as her eyes teared up before she began giving Solaire the puppy dog eyes. A fearsome weapon indeed to those vulnerable to it to be sure.
Kshin, meanwhile, was staring at the digimental laying in the grass looking lost but he agreed with Grace that Solaire shouldn't just give up. Kneeling down he picked up the Digimental of Justice before taking hold of one of Solaire's arms and placing it in the Dracomon's hand. "Solaire, I know from experience that not all of life challenges are easy. Yes this digimental is meant for you. You just have to figure out why so please calm down and think things out more." Kshin said as he pushed himself to his feet.
He then closed his amber eyes and focused on the digimental that integrated with him feeling the gentle hum of power as he brought the icy blue digimental forth taking hold of it in his paws looking at it as if it would offer him a solution to the problem at hand. This was a tough problem indeed. It was easier practicing magic tricks for a show so he felt out of his depth.

Solaire keeps glaring at the Digimental... He clearly hears Grace and Kshin, especially when the Gumdramon picks up the golden tormenter and puts it back in his hand. He looks at Kshin as he seems to become lost in thoughts of his own, seeing the spinning snowflake hovering in Kshin's hand. He heaves a sigh and resumes glaring at the Digimental.
"...I was right... I talk big, but clearly I can't back it up." He finally declares, before chucking the Digimental away from him. "It chose me, sure, but now I can't even activate it. Clearly it realizes that it's made a mistake."
Terrance's tail droops. "...Maybe it's a more practical personality?" He suggests. "Like, what if it'll activate if we go try and take on some Champion Digimon in need of a good Justice Delivery? I've got power to spare, I'm sure if you guys get on my back, we can find something going on in no time." Terrance wriggles a bit. "...Plus, it'll help me maybe like... regulate the power in me. I can't seem to sit still."

Kshin reintegrated with his digimental just in time to see Solaire fling the Digimental of Justice away from him. Grace extended her wings and began fluttering after the digimental gently scooping it off the ground before flying back over to Solaire before Kshin stated "My grandpa told me when it comes to digimentals destiny does not make mistakes even if the reason isn't always clear at first." Kshin didn't notice that him speaking of his deceased grandfather with such conviction had made his amber eyes begin brimming with tears at least at first. When he noticed he brought a paw up to both hide the tears and wipe them away at the same time.
Grace seemed to notice but said nothing while Kshin settled himself in time to hear about Terrance's suggestion. It did have merit but he wasn't sure it was a good idea. "I don't know if we should be just wondering around picking fights. Especially since the odds of finding someone in need of help out here in the middle of these plains aren't super likely. I guess we could look around though to see what we can find. At least we can help you burn off some energy, Terrance."
Kshin and Grace then climbed onto Terrance's back. Grace, who was holding onto the Digimental of Justice, held her paw out to Solaire and said "Come on, Solaire. We can give Terrance's idea a try, right?"

Solaire sighs and climbs up onto Terrance, shaking his head a bit. "Yeah, I guess." He settles himself behind Grace and looks around. Terrance wriggles and rolls his shoulders a bit.
"Welcome aboard Lightning Speedways, please keep your arms and legs inside the vehicle at all times! And if you fall off, please scream." Terrance says with a grin as he lowers himself. "...Alright, point me in a direction! Let's go!"
Solaire just kinda... looks around the plains before pointing in a random direction. And Terrance bolts at high speed! Lightning surges off his limbs as they pump to carry the whole party off in that random direction! "WOOOOOOOO!" Terrance lets out in a happy howl as he books it!
Solaire has to admit, Terrance's speed was kind of awesome. But it just adds fuel to the frustrated fire brewing in Solaire. Though, perhaps the nice fresh and cool air will help cool his head.

Lost in the most shadowed part of Network Plains and hidden by brambles and forest. It had slept for a month. Finally awoken from a long slumber, the creature crawled forward without any sign of hesitation. It was famished and it needed to feed. That was all that mattered.
“FEAST... HUNGER…” Although, this was no normal Dokugumon. The abdomen of this monster spider swelled far larger than usual. Plump with excess data from destroyed victims that had stumbled upon the web. The twisted web which hung from tree to tree showed evidence of those who had fallen to the arachnid’s wrath.
“I MUST FEED...” These plains in which it called home was generally peaceful and protected. Although, this fact only proved to be a bonus for the hungry hunter. Most who tread here didn’t expect attack. That just made it easier to pick them off. Chase them down, perhaps. But always, ending the same way. Catching the prey. Long, hairy legs pushed the spider forwards over the undergrowth. Edging it closer towards its potential lunch.

Terrance seemed charged up and ready to run and it wasn't just his lightning element. That Kshin was sure of as he grabbed tightly on to Terrances back feeling Grace take hold of his tail with her free paw the other clinging to the digimental so as not to drop it. "Hey, Solaire, do you wanna hold the digimental? It is yours after all." she asked holding the digimental out to Solaire hoping he would take hold of it again. If not she could keep it safe for the time being.
Solaire indicated a random direction before Terrance let out a howl that showed how happy he was to be running before bolting across the plains. Boy that term felt like an understatement as Kshin and Grace both tightened their grip with Kshin leaning forward to keep stable and cut down on the wind resistance. Then Grace felt something. It was as if the virus type triceratop's instincts were alerting her to something nearby as her body tensed. Tightening her grip on Kshin's tail causing her friend to yelp slightly she began looking around. So far nothing to be seen but she knew there was something or someone near and was shocked no one else seemed to feel it.
