LOST (in the Woods) [Yuuki - Goomba - Karin - Noxis]

As the acidic haze started to grow thin, Yuu looked at the panorama. He saw Yuuki in a somewhat bad shape shouting at his digimon. Dorumon himself was in an absolutely terrible shape. He laid flat on his stomach and seemed to be unconscious, blood trickling from all the wounds he had received, and those seemed to be many. Up in the melee, the creepy teddy seemed to be engaged with what looked as a giant Pacman completely covered in armor plates and with a strange leather vest and in the rear she saw a rusty Chessmon that strangely was without her shield charging at the bear and finally his partner. Kyo was more or less in a good shape, yeah, maybe she was losing patches of hair every second, but what actually brought a smile to his face was that her partner’s attack had seemingly disoriented that freaking mon. But obviously… that hope would be short lived. As she finished her move, the enemy adult expelled his body spikes. Granted, most of them were directed to whoever would engage them, but he saw three going in Kyo’s direction. They were really sloppy and their aim was rather poor, but what mattered was that they were silent and didn’t smell while Kyo was completely blind. As they closed on her, Yuu whistled on her direction, hoping that her partner would move before the attack had some serious consequences.
Kyo logically recognized her tamer’s <voice> and immediately dived to her side, but did so just a second too late. One of the spikes slashed her side, leaving a ugly cut along most of it that just hurt like hell. She audibly whimpered at her wound, but if this meanie bear thought that with only one ugly she was going just lay down and wait for his “mercy” he was dead wrong. Granted, the air still stank, but the sound of what seemed to be a lot of metal plates near to where the Porcupamon had screamed was still there, the distance that had them apart was the perfect one for an accurate, yet damaging Sledge Crash, so she took her chances and began charging towards that point. The pain of the wound coupled with the acid that flared up every nerve on her body visibly impaired her focus, but she just seemed to be able to remain mostly resolute despite of that. She would put a hurting on the bear even if that would cost her the ultimate price. As she tried yet again to ram the bear, she made sure to rebound at a good distance if she were to actually hit him. As she finished the attack, she could feel how her eyes stopped stinging. Maybe she had recovered her vision?

"DORUMON!"
After he made sure that the scary Digimon would leave his alone, Yuuki dashed to his partner's side. Spikes going at random direction was dangerous. One in particular managed to nearly draw some blood from his arm. As much as he want to help Dorumon, he already used all of his bandage to cover his nose and mouth before. This is not good. reusing that might be worse than using his clothes. Upon closer inspection, however... The wound is normal. It's not that deep nor that shallow. While blood still coming out of it, Dorumon writes something on the ground with his own blood.
Aim my head to that bear's direction. Let's make run for it afterward.
Yuuki looks perplexed, but Dorumon seem determined to do it. He'll trust his partner for this one... Slowly, Yuuki raised Dorumon's head and when he got clear aim of the bear that now turning his back at him... Pawnchessmon and Kyo did well in diverting his attention. Now... He pressed Dorumon on his collarbone, signifying him it's fine to attack now. Dorumon released his stored up attack, Dash Metal. The stronger, faster version of the Metal Cannon traveled on straight line to the Porcupamon. There's no time to look for his reaction. The moment the shoot fired, Yuuki lifted Dorumon up. He's heavy, but what he can do? He want both of them to survive! He quickly run to the direction of Karin and Yuu while making sure to keep himself covered by trees.

Gladimon smiled emphatically, able to successfully attack his opponent. "Ha-ha! Not so fun for you, is it?" The mon laughed and began waltzing towards the enemy, so cocky it forgot that the attack confused, not paralyzed. "Now, let's see if you're smart enough to surrender a losing battle. Perhaps if you do I'll take enough pity on you to teach you how accept refusal properly." Despite the huge shell of armor the mon wore over its body, thin and noodle-like limbs were left entirely exposed to the down and out bear. If he were able to gather his thoughts for long enough he might actually be able to strike.
Meanwhile, Duffer began calling out to his companions using the ever-useful Japanese phrasebook. <Hey, guys! You OK in there? The mist is clearing up!> He shouted as loud as he could. <I'm coming back in! Try and come towards the sounds of my soothing voice! If you run into something that feels suspiciously like like a giant spider, RUN LIKE CRAZY!> He shouted, thankful the book had the terms "soothing voice", "giant spider", and "like crazy" in it.
OOC: Started this post over because the last version sucked.

Yuuki is running from the battlefield, she caught that for a bit. However, the matter is, to cover him. She need to cover him more than anything. Dorumon already shot an attack that most probably would hit, and if it does, she can imagine how much that going to annoy the teddy bear... wait, why is she concerned about stranger she just met few hours ago? Is she getting too trusting? ...Most probably, that's not it. Her heart yearned for companions that never left her alone in the battlefield. These peoples... they're far from it. Maybe that's why she's trying her best to protect them. Chessmon took a step forward, focusing her vision on the teddy bear.
Kyo already attacked, hence she only have one way to do it. Chessmon's spear crackled. The battle has not over yet and here the foolish 'mon which is the Sensei of horror loving boy dared to gloat. What happened to the serious Kotemon that would most probably help them win this fight?
"FOOL, GET BACK!!" Chessmon roared, letting out stronger lightning bolt by adding more force on the initial launch, aimed to the bear's face.
Karin, hearing her partner's yell, flinched. Could it be that they're on disadvantage either way? Karin ran to direction of Duffer's voice, hoping that they have better chance against the creepy ursine if they regrouped. Meanwhile... she hoped Yuuki is still alive.

Dizziness, heaviness, disorientation; all these things swirled inside the forlorn bruin’s mind, causing his vision to spin and his body to halt. There he knelt, his whole frame unwilling to move in the middle of the battle field, his head hung low while his foes recouped. What was worse was that his only real defense was now gone; the acidic haze he’d previously summoned had dissipated, and the air was clear once again. Graedon knew that he was stuck between a rock and a tight spot, but his brain was so scrambled that he couldn’t keep himself balanced without all fours on the ground.
The cryptic bear gazed around, trying to make the best of his surroundings. Though the horizon was anything but level, and he was seeing tracers and fuzz around his opponents, he could roughly keep track of them. Trying to bring his mind back to a norm, he began chanting to himself in his mind. Focus! Focus! Focus!” he concentrated as hard as he could on tracking Kyo, the only opponent he could see right now. He could keep his targeting on track about fifty percent of the time, though there were moments where she would slip from his sight. Though alarms went off as his body flinched, realization hitting him as he tuned his focus; the BlackSalamon was right in front of him, dashing straight at him.
Graedon had no time to move out of the way, nor even the ability to do so. The dazed teddy did the one thing he could do to try and lessen the impact, and instinctually he stuck out his forearm towards the oncoming digimon as she lunged up at him, attempting to block his body. The outer face of his arm acted like a shield, but what would really help him in this situation was that his forearm was littered with razor tipped spikes. Unless the dashing rookie could redirect her whole momentum in midair at such a close range, she would become a Salamon shish-ka-bob. Skewered and wrecked, nailed to his arm.
Moments after he raised his arm, the lack of balance caught up with him. Porcupamon began wavering side to side, and then he felt the impact of a heavy projectile hit his shoulder. The giant crashed on his side with a loud thud, a pained screech escaping him as a powerful jolt of electricity shocked him, sending currents through his entire body. He was starting to hurt, his other arm still sore from the earlier attack, his body slowly becoming more bruised with each hit. He was fairly certain that the Dorumon was out of the picture now, and the Salamon… He would have to see once the confusion cleared up, for he couldn’t make sense of what happened to her just yet.
As he lay struggling on the dirt, things began looking up for the evil digimon. The horizon which he stared at stopped rotating, the trees were ceasing to spin. His arms and legs were responding more readily as he attempted to bend them, attempted to get up. He could feel it; the haze over his brain was clearing up. It was just a matter of an instant before he regained full control of himself, and then, all hell would break loose on these brats.

Who could say a split second could actually be that long.
As the noxious mist dissapeared completely from sight, Yuu watched the scene that was about to ensue. It was Kyo, jumping headfirst towards what could actually be described as a pincushion. A giant pincushion with huge needles that would most likely deal lethal injuries to her. He saw that she was blinded up, so she was most likely oblivious of her impending skewering.
On a show of complete franticness and godlike speed, Yuu began to rapidly push one of his D-3's buttons until, on a flash of light, Kyo devolved to her most basic form. It was his best chance of avoid getting her impaled by the multiple needles that covered Porcupamon's arm, and on what seemed to be a really tight balance on her body, Kyo was drifting her trayectory away from that deathtrap. She landed a few meters away from the creepy teddy, seemingly unscathed. She had actually survived!
The hopes Yuu had build up instantly caved in when the little Zurumon turned herself, revealing a deep cut on her side. While it was most likely due to a grazing blow, it was more than enough to fatally wound a digimon on its fresh stage.
Yet Kyo didn't seem to be sad as her body began to lose corporality, she looked at Yuu with her sorrowful, yet caring red eyes and a smile on her face, actually happy that her tamer did the impossible to save her. She felt lucky, yet sad at the same time because destiny had separated them so quickly, but she was certain that they would see each other again. Deletion was yet another part of the endless cycle.
"I'll be waiting for you, Yuu-ottousan! I'm gonna be so happy when we reunite again!" Having said that, the Zurumon's tiny frame bursted into thousands of small whitish particles.
As Kyo's data filled up the air and Yuu's D-3 screen went dead with static, he could only watch the scene, completely paralyzed at what was happening. Even though he had made his best effort to avoid this, it hadn't been enough. He felt as if his whole body had gone limp as his D-3 fell from his hand's grip to the soft grass beneath with a thud. He found it hard to believe, as this was supposed to be just a normal trip on the Digital World, yet it had ended on a fight that they didn't pick and her partner as collateral damage.
As he watched how fight continued with the feeling that he wasn't quite in his body, Yuu could only hope that this was really a bad dream. A horrible nightmare from which he would wake up in any time from now.

Yuuki gasped for air frantically. His body hurting all over thanks to the hit before, but the matter now is, his partner is in danger. Dorumon's wound is really dangerous if left untreated. He run to direction of Duffer's voice. His body asked for break... no, it screamed for it. However, he doesn't care. He doesn't care who fault is this to begin with... All he care is for his partner's safety. The fifteen years old teen could feel the pain dulling slightly. Adrenaline pumped to his system as he felt the urgency... He need to regroup this instant!
Once near enough to the foreigner boy who partnered with Kotemon, Yuuki laid Dorumon on the ground and took out water bottle from his bag. He splashed it on Dorumon's wound. The Digimon groaned in pain, but Yuuki doesn't stop there. He quickly took off his inside shirt and ripped it apart. He washed the fabric with water before using it as makeshift bandage.
"Hang in there, Dorumon...!"
Oblivious to the current predicament, he focuses his full attention to his partner.
The beast dragon Digimon raises his still good arm and give Yuuki what seem like a thumb up. "...It's OK... we best get outta here... we need to gather everyone and just run for it."

Duffer gasped as Yuuki came out of the mist, "Holy shit!" He swore, leaning down beside her to see the damage. <What happened in there?> The english boy asked before translating the other statement. <Right, gather everyone and goooooooOOOHMYGOD!" Duffer's transition from Japanese to English was abrupt but appropriate given what had just happened. "Holy shit! Oh my god, Kyo's just! Oh my goooooood!" Having looked away at just the right time to avoid seeing the kitten sliced open, Duffer covered his eyes and began panicking. "Oh god someone died, oh god, oh god, oh god..." The American boy was freaking out. "It was a child, dude! A child! Nobody's safe now! We're all going to die unless we get out of here! B-but..." Then realization struck as the horror movies came flooding back. "Oh god, we can't leave them, then we look like selfish dicks and the monster will hunt us down one by one, but if we go back we die a painful agonizing de-ea-eath..." Duffer was beginning to cry now as he realized this little adventure had turned into the horror films he loved so much.
Gladimon... was not taking it well either. The one time he'd dropped her proper, upright demeanor was met with the death of a student. Unlike Duffer, who was realizing the existential horror and was suffering a horrific mental breakdown guaranteed to ensure he never entered any woods ever again, Gladimon felt something else: Fury. "You... little... son of a BITCH!" The mon emphasized this pointed with a powerful swing, hoping to connect with the bear's jaw. "THUNDER KOTE!"

That moment... it felt like a thousand stab to her heart. It's like everything stopped right there. Chessmon's spear fell to the ground. The puppet Digimon limply fall on her knees. Did that just happened? Did that seriously just happened, to a newborn child at it? She's less than a week old, and... Unconsciously, something leaking from the enigmatic interior of her helmet. A liquid? Chessmon wiped it up and notices something... It's a tear. Without noticing it, has the puppet Digimon grow attached to the little pup?
"...Aha..."
Something broke inside of her. Something felt totally out of it. A feeling of great killing intent. She wanted to kill this bear, to run her blade countless of time to his creepy, bladed body. Crackle of electricity came out from the spear's tips.
"...Kyo... I'm sorry I never did become that esteemed sister that you wanted to have..." Chessmon whispered at the last spot where the little Zurumon was on.
"MOTHERF**KER!!" she heard Karin screamed in anger. Even her tamer shedding tears for the little unbearable furball that actually... starting to affect them so much? She doesn't care either way. Her sister's dead, just like that. Fury builds up inside her.
"...O Lord, I entrust this body to you..." Chessmon chanted. How nostalgic... She always chanted like that just before the great battle... Tears still flowing down from her visor, but regardless, she have one mission now. Vengeance.
"URAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!" Enhanced by fury, bigger thunder than before shot from her spear. Slowly, the spear cracked, but she doesn't care. Even if she have to, she can shoot it with her palm!
Eventually, this world is still a place where the strong predates the weak afterall...

Panic spread throughout the tamers, frantic voices growing louder and louder in the woods; screaming, yelling, cussing, and rage. Porcupamon glanced up as he lay there, his limbs beginning to respond to his commands. Pushing himself to a seated position, the creepy bear caught sight of his attacker, rather what was left of her. He analyzed the spikes protruding from his arm, taking note of the crimson data which dripped from them, and then glanced back at the cloud of data which floated into nothingness.
Hopping up to full stance, Graedon rejoiced in his kill. He’d fought digimon before, but never before did he feel such a surge of pure power! Raw energy pulsing through his body, each breath he took was filled with an evil satisfaction. ”Woo! Two down, two to go! Who’s next, kids?” the large purple bruin laughed maniacally, his tone raspy, his cackling and screeching amplified by his vigorous tone and his pompous demeanor.
At this point the bear had two attacks launching right for him. Graedon’s body was responding again, but the sensation of pride coupled with awe he struck within himself, the fact that he had just deleted a digimon, all of it distracted him enough to be bricked with an electrifying punch. As if that wasn’t enough, a second shot of lightning added to the overall shock; albeit this one was nowhere near as jolting as the first impact.
Graedon stumbled back as he took the hits, falling backwards on his rump with a loud thud. Those attacks hurt, that punch specifically hurt a lot. The bear groaned and grumbled as he struggled to collect himself, pain searing through his body. The bruin let out a sickened cough, his breath wheezed, and alas he sat himself upright. Instead of coming back with physical spite, Graedon began to applaud. ”My, my, such anger. He started to chuckle in a sinister manner. ”Let it consume you! That’s the first step to losing control, losing your minds.” He paused, his voice cracking as his wicked words made their way across. ”Hell, you might even end up Just. Like. Me” he accented each word as if he were plucking staccato notes.
He began to whisper unintelligible gibberish, louder and louder he whispered, and finally, when he was loud enough to hear, he hacked out a word. ”BOO.”
He snickered under his breath just before releasing a barrage of spikes. Madness Brooch had been used once more, this time accurately. Five spikes headed directly at the spherical knight, and the other five sped towards the white pawn. Each of the razor-tipped projectiles were offset from one another by a few feet, which would make dodging them all an incredibly difficult task.
- - - - -
Everett was still slinking behind the trees, though he kept an eye on the fight from a distance. So far everything was looking solid for Graedon; some ups, some downs, some good hits and some bad moments. He looked almost paralyzed, though finally he was coming out of it. When suddenly, Graedon raised his arm, and Everett saw the entire thing. Kyo’s tamer quickly reacted, but his efforts were in vain. The small digimon shrunk into a yellow blob like creature, though its side was leaking. It was dying, and shortly after receiving that damage from Graedon, she disappeared into thin air.
The lawyer was, admittedly, slightly taken aback. He knew that him and Graedon weren’t exactly good guys, that they caused a lot of trouble. But this was the first time he’d ever seen Graedon actually kill another digimon. Though, it looked like he loved it; the energy radiating though him was powerful. Rett glanced at his digivice, noticed that the screen was pulsating with a purple glow. Clearly, he had gained enough vigor to take this up a notch, but would he need to? And would killing other digimon really make them stronger? Based on this evidence, it would seem so. But they would need to kill again to really find out.
The man knew that these tamers… these kids, they were probably inexperienced in the digital world. Not a single one of them woke up this morning thinking “I’m going to watch a friend get murdered today”, yet here they were. He almost felt bad for them, but then reality struck. Walking up from behind a tree, the smug tamer kicked back, flicked his lighter, lit his cigar, and let out subtle chuckle. ”You see, kids!” Everett started, cockiness pouring from his tone. ”This place, the digital world, it’s a mon-eat-mon place and damn it’s tough.” He took a puff, spewed out a toxic cloud, and continued. ”Looks likeKyo, the shish-ka-bob blob, found that out the hard way eh? Hahaha.” he grimaced, a flash of his teeth growing wider as he realized how empowering this felt. He never considered himself a murderer, but this sensation was comparable to back in the courts, when he would send an innocent man to jail in exchange for a hefty sum. Or when the corrupt cops listened to his every command, when he would let criminals walk in exchange for favors and sums. It was sinister, twisted in every way, yet so fulfilling. ”Man, I’ve missed this!” Life was nothing but a cruel game, and this immoral lawyer was a master at pulling the strings. After all, he won every time. - - - - - OOC

As the bloody simphony resonated through the Woods yet again, Yuu felt totally numb, oblivious to the words spoken or the fight around him. Yet, as he slowly accepted that this wasn't a nightmare, but something very much real, something began to change inside him. He began to feel contempt towards all this awful situation. He wasn't really friends with anybody of his current comrades, and although he had a certain quota of respect and appreciation towards Karin because the affection Kyo professed to Chessmon, everyone else was an stranger, or worse. As he looked at Gladimon, that contempt twisted itself into hatred. He felt as if the digimon was as responsible of Kyo's death as the sewn nightmare that was in front on them. The most powerful digimon of their team, the one that was suppossed to take care of them had shown mercy. Mercy, of all things! Was he stupid enough to try and do that after the bear had almost killed Yuuki's digimon? He could have prevented the whole happening, yet he had chosen to throw his partner's live through the window as if it were worth absolutely nothing.
Yet, he didn't see Kotemon as the real and true offender. This whole situation was entirely instigated by one person. A person older than them and supposedly more responsible too. A person who tried to play an unneeded white knight role, and even then failed miserably at so, quitting and leaving them behind at the first blow his partner took. How curious, thanks to a person who didn't want to risk his digimon's life, Kyo had paid the ultimate price. Nova was his name, and the merely remembering that fact made Yuu's blood boil with the most pure and concentrated hatred. Kyo life's was forfeit to correct the arrogant mistakes of those two beings, and one of them wasn't even there to see her sacrifice. It was almost as if it were... in vain.
A single tear of frustration mixed with all these hateful emotions descended from his cheek, falling on his now-broken cellphone, but as it fell, the device began changing as the previous one he had vanished as his partner. It was a D-3 that could be described as identical to her previous device except that it's coloration was a pitch-black body with crimson, almost blood-colored grips. And it was beeping, giving him a signal of a faraway place where most likely her partner was waiting for him; where Kyo was waiting for him.
Having noticed this, and without really caring about anything else, he ran without looking back to where his new digivice was pointing. He felt somewhat bad at leaving Karin and Yuuki behind but as of now, he was just a partnerless human. He couldn't do anything about the current situation and to be completely honest with himself, the mere sight of the battlefield made him sick to his stomach. He felt betrayed by people whom he had trusted. People he didn't want to have near Kyo anymore.
He raced through the forest, hoping to not stop until he reached his destination.

Yuuki doesn't care about the man's gloating. His eyes filled with hatred already. So one of his friend died... and it's because of this man? Fury build up inside of him... Dorumon not taking it well either. His eyes turned into slits, like feral creature. Dead... one of their teammate dead. His grip on his D-3 grows stronger before suddenly, a mechanical voice came out from it.
"Dex Line, Online. First requirement, released. Memory full."
He's too oblivious about it, but one thing for sure... he cannot aggravate the situation more than he needed. He tries to breathe in and out to calm himself down, but none of it works until he saw the other boy ran away A wise choice if he have to say himself. He don't have any sort of grudge for that. It's the best choice he can do. Yuuki looked at the small shield which near on his foreigner teammate. Looking at how Karin doesn't seem to be in situation where she can return the shield, Yuuki grabbed the shield and tossed it to Chessmon with all his strength like a chakram.
"PULL YOURSELF TOGETHER!!" he barked to Duffer, full of anger. He's not sure if he could understand it, but he definitely doesn't like where this situation is going. "One more mistake could cost our lives!"
OOC: Let this be the background why Yuuki got Dex line, but right now, he's unable to use it.

This proved to be a bad thing to say to the breaking-down American, even if it was in a language he didn't understand. As he just cried louder and harder, it became clear the boy wasn't as familiar with death as all the slasher films had made it seem. Sniffling and trying to stand up, Duffer heard what Everette was saying... kinda, you know, Japanese. He slowly approached Everette. "You dumb bastard!" He cried, wailing in weakness. He harmlessly thumped his fists on Everette's chest as he fell to his knees. "You've unleashed Hell on us all! We're all going to frigging die, you fucking retard! You can't control these things! Not even the government can control this shit! The movies fucking say so! We are going to die and it's all your fault!"
As Duffer dealt with his mental breakdown in his own way, Gladimon dealt with it its own way... well, until it was struck by several spikes. As the metal struck the armor, denting and dinging it, Gladimon found itself shortly dazed and trying to find a way to return the strike. After a few clumsy moments of getting itself together, clearly not going to be able to last much longer in this duel, the mon preformed a desperation attack, "HOTHEAD!" The mon shouted, leaping at the bear. With all its body-weight behind it, the mon was going to do really serious damage, to Grae if it connect, to itself if it missed.

"...Hey, tell me... Is this just a game for you?" Karin asked, a bit too much like a broken, hopeless doll for Yuuki's liking. "Is this just a game, in where you can do whatever you please? In where you can kill everyone just like that? I know this place is different from the human world... this is hard place, but..."
Karin does not hear any sort of stuff that the man nor the bear said afterward. As the bear gloats and receive the attack from the two knight-like Digimons, Karin mentally starting to recall the moments with the little Digimon. The first time she appeared, she's already so active... so playful...
"...She's so overfriendly even with someone who she supposed to be suspicious of..."
Ba-thump...
"...She's unbearably obnoxious and sometimes cheeky..."
Ba-thump...
"To this cold me... she still called me her aunt... how funny... I even told her off one time..."
Ba-thump ba-thump ba-thump
"It's strange... I'm supposed to not feel anything about this... no, I guess I already know the reason... Hey... that stupid blue haired guy already gone from the start, so why... why do you have to kill her?" Despite covered by her long hair, Karin's eyes show great hatred toward the lawyer and his killer partner.
"Give her back..." her grip on the rhodonite-gripped device on her hand strengthened. Slowly, it lets out a golden glow.
Ba-thump ba-thump ba-thump Ba-thump ba-thump ba-thump
"GIVE KYO BACK!!"
The device let out a sound before once again, pillar of light descended from the device's screen, followed by DigiCodes. The two merged at the top, creating bursts of golden flame sparks. It descended at Chessmon right when the bruin shot his needles. The shield Yuuki tossed suddenly became a rod made of strong metal while the spear on her hand became sword. With great swordmanship, the figure that emerged from light, clad in golden aura dispatched it readily. At the same time, five projectiles shot out form the knightly angel's aura. While they're weak, in total, they still holds 20% power of the original Madness Brooch.
Darcmon pointed her sword at the creepy Digimon, full with intent to kill.
"...Let's dance."
Luminous Wall: 2 turns remaining. Glowing Air negated.

Snickering slightly, the tall man raised a brow as the American boy began shouting at him. He thought that Graedon was uncontrollable? Thought he was a mindless machine? He was dead wrong. Everett frowned at the teen’s tantrum, taking a step backwards as the boy fell to his knees. He rolled his eyes as he reached into his pocket, taking a gulp of his whiskey before addressing the flailing tamer in English. ”Get up, kid, you’re making an idiot of yourself.” the lawyer dusted his shirt where the boy had hit it. ”Grow up, take a look around. The government? Are you fucking kidding me? Kid, I know the government, I’ve worked both with and against them my whole career. Let me tell ya somethin’.” He paused, looking down at the teen mockingly. ”The government ain’t ever been there to protect you. Everyone is their god damned enemy. You, your momma, and every one of us shmucks back out in that world. We’re worth nothing unless we can trick them. So don’t you ever think they’re going to protect you, even when you go home crying.” Everett looked up at his champion partner, a crooked smirk tugging at his lips. ”Now this guy, this son of a bitch right here,” he pointed at the monstrous creature. ”This guy- no wait, this thing, according to you, he’s the real deal. See, there’s your mistake, boy. You’re treating them, the digimon, like things that need controlling, as if they were thoughtless mutts. But open your eyes because in this world, they rule. This is their home, and they are their own beings, have their own minds. In this twisted place, we should fucking pray that they don’t decide we need leashes.”
The lawyer took a breath, turning his back to the sobbing adolescent. There was such stupidity from this youth, it was unbearable. As he began striding away, he turned his head, adding one more comment to the kid. ”And besides, what makes you think that I would even want to control him? He’s doing a pretty great job at teaching you ungrateful brats a lesson, don’t you think?”

Graedon giggled creepily, his horror-esque antics still in play as he confronted the remaining two digimon. The digimon tried to keep his focus on the pair of opponents, but his ears twitched as a familiar voice bounced around in them. Everett was going on about his world, the digital world, and generally putting the kid in his place. The teddy found himself entertained at the speech, particularly the thought of humans on leashes! His screeching laughs grew louder, his ears now picking up the pathetic sob story of how that little girl was oh-so-sad about Kyo’s untimely demise.
And that was when another screech pierced his ear drums, drowning out his own ghastly sounds.
Shooting a stare back at his foes, he realized a little too late that Gladimon was coming straight for him. Like a cannonball to the gut, Graedon took the attack straight in the gut, his breath leaving his body and pain tearing his torso apart. A terrifying shriek escaped him as he tumbled to the ground, agony audibly evident. As he lay, winded and stunned with overwhelming pain, he gazed to his side only to see a new digimon. Angelic in all her beauty, this dame now pointed her blade in his face. He was on his back, unable to catch his breath, and things were looking grim for the grim reaper. He was down.
But he wasn’t out.
Everett’s hands shot up as he watched the scene unfold, grabbing at his hair in complete disbelief. His eyes grew wide, concern racing through his brain. He knew that Graedon could get up and win, but right now it looked as though his digimon partner was about to get stabbed in the face. Turning at the tamers in fury, the man’s face flushed red. ”You say I’ve unleashed hell on you?!” yelled the adult. ”You think this is hell? No, not even close! Hell is when you’re being confined to conform under someone who doesn’t even believe you are an individual! Hell is when your own best friend, your partner, believes that you need to be controlled! You know what? All of these digimon would be better off dead data than to face a life with an ignorant fucking human dragging them around like an iron ball on a chain! That’s something I’d never do, not to Grae. You should all be ashamed, new tamers or not.” As he spoke, his fists clasped tighter. The thought of treating Graedon like a slave sickened him; if the mon wanted to do something in his own world, that was his right. Even though he wasn’t the sharpest tool in the shed, at least he had his freedom, and he had fun.
Purple and black energy poured out from the device around Everett’s hip. Obnoxious beeping filled the forest, and momentarily the energy shot its way to the forlorn bear. Like a waterfall, streams of dark matter poured from the device, layering the bear in vigor as it fed into his body. The champion digimon found himself being lifted, his body enlarging, his limbs elongating, and the pain eliminating from his body. ”Porcupamon digivolve… WaruMonzaemon!” The digimon’s skin turned charcoal, his eyelids ripping open as the stitches popped, revealing blood shot eyes. Doubling in size, his total height towered at 25 feet, and though he was no longer covered in deadly spikes, he now boasted three enormous claws on one hand. A cape fluttered behind him as his belly protruded, the seams in the center separating to reveal an eerie glowing eye staring out from the darkness. And though the gas mask was no longer on his face, his lips were sewn shut; he would have to split his skin to be able to open his jaw.
The terrifying beast stood at the tree-tops, even above some of them, and with a thunderous grisly roar, spun his arms and tore through nearby tree trunks. The colossus had cleared the battle arena of trees in a wide, violent sweep, and an earth-shattering crash rumbled across the proximate land. As the deafening noise settled, a deep and disturbing cackle emitted from his maw. ”Oh, we’ll dance, little girl.” he continued with his awful laughter. ”We’ll dance.”
