Clayton's mind snapped at him almost instantly after he started to blindly swing the anchor, that was the exact opposite thing he was supposed to do in situation like this. It was pretty clear she was a lot faster than him, regardless of how strong his strikes might be it didn't matter if he couldn't connect. Which seemed to be the exact thing that was going on right now, it was pretty frustrating not being able to land a hit but there wasn't much else he could do at the moment.
Thankfully instead of beating him down for his stupid choice Honoka decided to relent, flying back away from the teen and catching her breath. Clay let the tension leave his body, relaxing his shoulders as he let the anchor hit the ground. "No worries, I was getting a bit carried away myself." Clayton gave a small laugh before nodding. "Yeah, a break sounds good right about now. Might just be the new form but I'm already so tired." Definitely not something he was used to.
"You did great though, didn't give me a chance to breath. Didn't really have an answer for close range except swinging this thing around." Clayton tapped the anchor into the ground, he had the two guns sure but he doubted she'd fall for the same fall down and shoot thing he did before.

As Clay took the time to rest, so too did Honoka, making sure to catch a breather for a little bit. She laughed off some of the tension as the both of them had gotten a little too wound up for just a sparring exercise. But considering they were fighting with Digimon forms, it was kind of hard not to get a little too into it.
"New forms can do that to you," Honoka agreed. Heck, just with Lulu's spirit alone, it took her weeks of practice just to get flying down. As fantastic a gymnast she was, her own instincts weren't suited for aerial combat, and while she could get mental directions directly from her spirit, it wasn't practical for high-speed combat. But Honoka was glad that all the practice was paying off.
Still, for someone so new to this particular spirit, Honoka was pretty surprised. "Even if you're new to your spirit, I couldn't really tell," She praised. "I don't know if it's the spirit or if your reaction time was that good, but sometimes I felt like it didn't even matter how fast I moved!"
Honoka was clutching her side as she relaxed though. Lulu's Digimon form wasn't well-suited for taking attacks, and Clayton had a way of hitting her despite her speed. It was already clear by the end of it that he was getting used to her tricky movements and after that she was just a half-naked butterfly lady with an extreme allergy to being bludgeoned with heavy metal objects. Speaking of the anchor, "I think that's all you really need, though. I don't have many ways to attack from a distance, so getting close is about all I can do..." Granted, she could deal with ranged attacks easily enough, but against a sturdier melee combatant, Lulu's form made for a horrendous pairing.
But since this was during a break, and this was training, she might as well try and give out some helpful tips, right? "I don't know how heavy the anchor is, but if you're able to lift it with one arm, even if it weakens your attacks, you might be able to defend against my attacks easier. If you're able to block or even grab a hold of your opponent, you'll probably be able to secure a more solid hit... I think. I don't really have any weapons training..." Her own admonishment of inexperience let out some more nervous laughter from the transformed human, causing even more aches in her sides. Why exactly was she giving advice again? Her opponent was already hitting her enough as it was...

"Yeah I suppose so, guess it was pretty similar to the first spirit I got, though that one uses a sword which I am a lot more familiar with swinging around then an anchor if I'm honest." Clay let out a small laugh looking down at the massive thing, though he was able to lift it pretty easily it was still a shock in his head that something this big was meant to be a weapon, how the Captain used it before or even why was beyond Clayton at the moment.
"Really? I felt like I was just barely keeping up heh, moving around so fast I could barely get a read on your next move. Once you got in close I didn't really have an answer. Save for the blind swinging round the end there." Clayton let out a small laugh as he looked at his free hand for a moment. "Though honestly, don't think I'm crazy or nothing but the spirit usually talks to me. Gives me advice while I'm walking around but right now it's just, empty. Like he's not there anymore. Maybe it's cause of that I was able to move around so well." Clayton hoped this wasn't just a him thing, please don't tell him he's the only one who hears pirate themed voices in his head!
Clayton felt a little bad as he watched Honoka cluch her side, though his face did have some reservations against feeling that! She mentioned the ranged attacks and all. "Well if you're good enough at getting in close ranged attacks might not matter as much, once you got in I didn't really have a way to get you off me once you did get in close. Suppose that's what most of the spirit stuffs about, learning strengths and weaknesses to the forms and adapting." It was tricky and hard but something about it felt, fun for Clay to figure out, which helped out even more so now that he had someone to talk about this stuff with for now.
"Yeah, I can lift it pretty easily, maybe that would work well. Could Even try a blade lock, or I guess in this case an Anchor lock to grab someone who'd too close. Thanks, I appreciate the assist." Though that made Clayton wonder if he had any advice he could give her? "You did it a few times but maybe you could try some more feints? You're definitely a lot faster then me and it takes me a bit to recover from a miss, I imagine it's probably similar for other digimon that fight like this so if you attack with the aim to evade instead it could put me at more of a disadvantage." Clayton gave an akward laugh in return. "Though I guess now that I said it aloud I'd be expecting it rendering it kinda moot. But still you tried to help so, yeah." He was probably sounding like an idiot huh?

"I guess there's a big difference, with how they're weighted, aren't they?" Honoka wasn't well-versed in swords or kind of weapons. She could twirl a ribbon around and not have it be a tangled mess, but that didn't exactly help out in a life or death situation. But a Digimon swinging around a big anchor didn't seem so farfetched. Maybe one day Honoka herself would... nah.
Honoka had no choice but to shake her head once Clay started praising her, though. It wasn't like that at all! "No, no, I was just getting lucky! And you were starting to be able to get used to my speed at the end there, so I was losing advantage pretty quickly!"
Clayton said something about having his spirits talk to him, and Honoka couldn't help but burst out laughing. "I'm sorry..." She shook her head. "Sometimes I have to bribe my spirits just to get through a day of school without too many distractions!" Even when Honoka asked her spirits to be silent, she could still sense their consciousness, judging her every action and comment, like right now.
As far as Clay's own critique of Honoka went, the girl rubbed the back of her head as she nodded along. "Getting in close is really nerve-wracking, especially since I'm so vulnerable in this form. My attacks aren't very strong, though, and even if they can't keep up, once my opponent adjusts to my speed there isn't much I can do..." She admitted. "So I guess I can try and use less obvious movements from here on..." She suddenly reverted back to her human form, reaching into her bag and pulling out a notepad and a pen, where she began taking notes.
"If the problem is my opponent adjusting to my speed, then I need to fluctuate my speed in between attacks..." She said aloud, to no one in particular. "If I move around at about 70% speed, then I'm still a little faster than the average adult Digimon. I can compensate for the speed drop using feints and other tricky movements. Once my opponent begins to expect my feints, I can either adjust my speed accordingly, or disregard tricky movements altogether and go directly for an attack..."
Oh my god you have got to be frickin' kiddin' me... She heard Lulu's voice grumble as Honoka began to scribble down a step-by-step process. You're already cute for a human, so can't you just drop this nerd shit and go get laid, or something? Honoka seemed completely unperturbed, however, closing the notebook and placing it back into her bag, then bowing graciously towards Clayton.
"Thank you so much for the advice!" She offered, lifting her head up and followed it up by a bout of awkward silence. "Umm... If you're not too tired to continue, I have other forms that I'd be willing to try out..."

"Yeah, I'm more used to lighter stuff like my practice sword, swinging around something as big as that seems like it'll take a bit of getting used to." Thankfully Clayton wasn't in any big rush to go beat someone up or fight some large battle so he had plenty of time to practice, unless something wanted to punch him in the face in which case that was very rude.
"Guess that is one good thing bout this form, bulky enough to give me time to get used to stuff like that." With that Clayton tilted his head for a moment thinking about something. "Hmm, focus on defense. That could work." Why swing away like that, let them come to you and look for an opening, not his usual style but it was something to think about.
Clayton was a bit worried when she started laughing but those fears were quickly stopped. "Heh, you too huh. Guess that's just a thing with spirit tamers. Most of the time he can't shut up, plus he talks like one of those old timey pirates, was funny at first but the novelty has really started to wear down." Well Clay wasn't nuts, glad to hear it.
While Honoka went back to her human form Clayton just sat and listened to what she was talking about, he was impressed it was a lot more thought then he usually put into his fighting style of hit the guy really hard. "Huh, like one of those fighting games. Get someone used to a certain way you attack and change it up to leave em smarting, Nice."
When asked if he was alright to keep going Clayton just smiled and patted his chest with his free hand. "Yup, pretty sure I've caught my breath by now. try them out all you like." With that Clayton stood back up rolling his shoulder for a moment ready for the next match. "This form seems to drain my stamina quite a bit so I'd better get used to that fast before I get into some real trouble." Would definitely suck to have his form run out mid fight after all.

H onoka nodded along as Clayton confided and talked spirit shop with her. She could definitely see how someone talking like a pirate could get grating. "I don't have it that bad, thankfully..." She replied. "Lulu can be a little critical of... just about everything I do, Lili is always trying to get me to do something exciting, and Lala is... Well Lala's actually pretty pleasant to have around. Though she can get a little obsessed if there's someone singing... Or if I'm the one singing..." She let out a sigh and shook her head. Quirky to be sure, but somehow she grew used to them. Sure would suck if a future plotline altered this somehow.
Half-assed 4th-Wall-Breaking foreshadowing aside, Clayton seemed ready for a Round 2! Now that Honoka had an idea of what she wanted to do, she was half-tempted to stick to Lulu's Kazemon form work things out, but she wasn't so fond of testing it on an actual person first. So she instead opted to use one of her other forms. "Lili! It's your turn!" She announced, gripping her D-Tector and letting her take the form of a golden Lillymon, sparkling like sunshine across a crystal clear lake.
Okie-dokie! Honoka heard Lili's voice pipe up as Lulu's presence faded from her mind. Let's give this guy a show!
Honoka had no idea what that was supposed to mean, but she couldn't help but enthusiastically hop up and down. It had been a while since she had taken her Lillymon form, and she forgot how warm and fuzzy it made her feel, and just how much energy this flower fairy form had.
"Alrighty!" Honoka cried out once she was prepared to continue, a beaming smile across her face as she flexed her scrawny arms as if it were something impressive "Don't take it easy on me just because you're afraid you're going to hurt me, okay? I'm cute, but I'm really strong, too! And I won't hold back just because you're a ruggedly handsome pirate!"
She was admittedly a little more chipper when she took this form. Maybe her spirits influenced her personality, just a bit. Even so, the Lillymon stood there, waiting for Clayton to make the first move.

Well she didn't know his pain of having a pirate talking in her head, though that was to be expected since that was pretty weird. Honoka did seem to have a varied cast however though the last one stuck out to him the most. " Singing huh." Reminded him of his sister, she tended to get pretty nuts once someone started singing as well. Though part of him figured the types of singing they were thinking about were very different from one another. He still probably has Tinnitus cause of some of the more louder songs. But half-assed plugging in someone who hasn't been introduced yet aside it was now time for Clayton to get ready for round two. Holding his gun in his off hand while throwing the Anchor over his shoulder Clayton muttered to himself. " Alright, you may not be here captain but we do this together. Here we go." He didn't get a fancy transformation since he was still using the same form but he still stood ready. Though he was immediately caught off guard by that last comment. " Huh. oh thanks. Yeah, Don't worry wasn't planning on it." He had to admit there was probably a small mental hang up on actually hurting her but she was right, they're both using spirits after all it wouldn't be sparring if he kept having that mental block, gotta do what he can after all! Clayton really didn't know what to expect out of this form, the last one was close range focused so he couldn't imagine both forms were like that as well, she knows his moves so best keep his distance for now and try to approach, so that he did rushing forward with his gun drawn firing three rapid fire shots from his gun right towards her as he ran up, like before they'd explode on contact as he made his approach.

The fight was back on, and Honoka was gonna be more ready than anything! Honoka practically skipped towards her opponent, her arms waving up and down like a small child! It felt good to be able to let loose without having to fight off someone who wanted to kill her, but it didn't mean that the yellow Lillymon could lose focus! Clay would probably charge in with that big ol' anchor of his, and then she'd zip around and... Oh crap it was the guns again! She should really avoid that attack!
While the young woman would never even think to consider to try dodging bullets as a human, her Digimon body was a different story entirely. She twirled her body around, evading each bullet like she was that one dude in that one overly-philosophical kung-fu action flick!
Alright! She had successfully dodge the bullets, so now it as time to counterattack! But... Honoka had a feeling she was forgetting something about those bullets, like...
Like when they explode on contact as they struck the area behind the flowery fairy! The burst slammed into the Lillymon's back as she was sent flying forward, Honoka screaming out in shock and agony. And also a petty anger growing deep within her. She suppressed Lili's urge to call Clayton a meaniehead, and instead on focused on something other than the fact that she just got exploded on by a bunch of bullets.
She was already flying forward, which meant she was going in the direction she was planning on going in anyways, so maybe she could use this to her advantage? Of course, her precarious position meant that she couldn't exactly try any tricksy movements, so a direct attack was her only option!
Focusing for a second, Honoka drew out the bright sunny power within her spirit's form, as her body began to glow with a bright golden light as warm as the sun's rays. Concentrating further, she focused that energy into her hand as she flew forwards towards the CaptainHookmon and swung out with a slap across the face!
-Honoka dodges the bullets, but gets hit with the explosion bit. Then she uses her Sunlight Booster to buff her power up and then attack with Sunshine Striker! Sunlight Booster -Honoka brings to the surface the built up sunlight energy she's stored within her body, for the next 3 posts, Honoka's "Sunshine" abilities have a 50% power increase. While his ability is active, Honoka's body gives of a warm, golden light. Out of combat, this ability serves as a useful light source. 3-post cooldown, as Honoka has to recharge.
Sunshine Striker -Honoka charges a limb with sunlight energy and strikes at them with a kick or a slap. This move can be used the same turn Sunlight Booster is activated.0-post cooldown.

Clay had to admit, it was super weird to see someone dodging bullets, it was like something out of an action movie or something of the like. While it was also weird for him to be shooting someone he had gotten more used to that as the battle went on. However she seemed to forget about the second part of the attack, the part where they explode throwing the Lillymon forward, while not a direct hit we take those. It also helped put her more within his effective range, rushing forward as she was flying towards him, at the rate she was going when she would try and stop herself in the air Clay would strike, using the momentum from his run alongside the anchor. Any second now she would probably try and stop. Oh god she wasn't stopping, a bright sunny power within her began to glow alongside her hand which seemed to glow brighter as she flew towards him with her hand outstretched aiming for a slap? The back of his mind thought about why but figured it must be a digimon thing that a slap was stronger than her normal punch, either that or she just REALLY wanted to slap the tar outta him which fair if that was the case. Regardless Clayton was in mid run and his anchor was behind him so swinging it forward to catch her out of the air was a no go, she was faster than him there was a high chance she would just dodge it last like time. he had to be smart and try to use his head to get out of this situation. So he did, letting her smack him across the face with a decently strong strike Clay held his stance for a moment powering through it as he reeled back and slammed his forehead forward aiming right towards her own, for a basic headbutt strike, wouldn't do as much damage as one of his actual moves but he had to at least try and get something on the board. Clayton C.A:
Action: Clayton rushes forward but before he can attack switches tactics and aims a basic attack right towards Honoka's head while tanking the hit
Move used:
Basic Attack: Headbutt, good, old fashion smashing with a skull. Deals a small amount of damage back to him if the opponent has a thick skull.

A slap across the face was, of course, was the natural response to shooting and attempting to explode someone. There were sparring, but someone could seriously get hurt! Eyes could get knocked out and...
It was possible Honoka was a little bit unreasonable while in her flowery state. After all, why go around fighting when they could be doing literally anything else right now? Even so, the girl had to keep focused, because if she wasn't and Clayton decided to attack...
She could get struck in the head with another person's head. Honoka reeled back, not expecting a headbutt of all things. Between Lili's distracting thoughts and her focusing on Clay's anchor she hadn't even remotely expected the head strike! That was really impressive... tho she was feeling perhaps a little too spiteful to say it out loud.
Instead, the Lilimon grit her teeth and pulled back, hovering in the air for a little bit before putting some distance between the two of them, then descending quickly, stomping her foot on the ground with a glowing boot. The light from her foot shot into the ground beneath her, then vanished.
An instant later, the ground beneath Clayton would begin to shine as glowing vines shot out from the ground and try to wrap around the pirate Digimon. And because Honoka had turned on her glow function just a little bit ago, these vines would constrict rather painfully, on top of binding him in place for just long enough for Honoka to hit him with an attack that could really hurt!
-Honoka goes "Owie-Zowies!" from Clay's headbutt, then tries to immobilize him with her Sunshine Stomp ability, attempting to immobilize him and damage just a bit thanks to Sunlight Booster being in effect.
Sunlight Booster -Honoka brings to the surface the built up sunlight energy she's stored within her body, for the next 3 posts, Honoka's "Sunshine" abilities have a 50% power increase. While his ability is active, Honoka's body gives of a warm, golden light. Out of combat, this ability serves as a useful light source. 3-post cooldown, as Honoka has to recharge.
[RU-1] Sunshine Stomp -Honoka stomps the ground, sending sunlight energy through the earth that causes vines to erupt from the ground to entangle and immobilize one enemy (her level or lower). The enemy can use their action to break themselves free from the entanglement if they wish to move. In addition, if Sunlight Booster is in effect, this attack deals a light amount of damage. 3-post cooldown.

Head meets head, thankfully Clayton's head seemed to be stronger as she reeled back. Clayton did too for a moment since smashing your head against someone else did happen to give a bit of a headache but thankfully he was ready for that and able to keep his stance sturdy. Letting out a small pained grunt Clayton was ready to keep fighting. Looking at her hovering in the air Clayton held the anchor up, his gun was still not ready to fire yet so he couldn't really match her at range for a moment, best keep an eye on her movements and try to strike where he could. As she came to the ground Clayton stood ready for her next move, was it some kind of ground wave or smash? No the ground below him started to shine, not wanting to deal with anything that was Clayton made his retreat by jumping backwards, only for a vine to grab his leg and drag him to the ground, gotta admit he really didn't see that one coming. As one last desperation shot Clayton threw his arm back and threw his gun right at Honoka, it was a basic attack and had a decent chance of missing but was hopefully random enough to catch her off guard while he sailed down to the ground. Clayton C.A:

H onoka had her opponent right where she wanted him! Tethered to the ground like that, there would be no way he could avoid her next attack in time! Honoka planted her feet onto the ground, raising her arms in front of her, the petals around her Lillymon wrists blooming and revealing a pair of gun barrels underneath. Which were glowing with a bright golden light that began to concentrate in the tips.
"Sunlight... Double... kyaaah!" Honoka's dramatic attack declaration was cut off as a gun came flying at her face, the instrument of destruction slapping her across the face and knocking her off her balance. One of the cannons suddenly went dim as the flighty flower fairy lost her concentration, leaving only one cannon to fire at the bound pirate boi!
"I know we're sparring right now, but you don't have to be so rude! I'm not picking that back up for you, meanie!" Honoka complained, her cheeks puffed in indignation. Okay, so that was probably more Lili than Honoka right now, but chances are Clayton wouldn't know the difference. Regardless, Honoka still had one big sunlight-powered mega buster charge shot to fire, and she aimed and fired the blast of sunny destruction!
- Honoka gets hit by some dude throwing a gun at her head. She tried to use Sunlight Double Cannon, but got so distracted that she was only able to use Sunlight Cannon instead... I'm pretty sure that's how the game mechanics work.
Sunlight Booster - Honoka brings to the surface the built up sunlight energy she's stored within her body, for the next 3 posts, Honoka's "Sunshine" abilities have a 50% power increase. Sunshine Cannon - Fires a blast of light energy towards a single target. This move ignores passive resistances and defense boosts while Sunlight Booster is activated. 2-post cooldown.

Clayton couldn't help but smile with his fist up for a moment as his attack hit its mark, it definitely wasn't the smartest plan he had to admit but it was a plan! Thankfully one of those, definitely not what he expected from flowers, gun barrels seemed to go dim as he hit her, though what she said after did make Clayton a bit confused. " Is she ok?" Clayton mused to himself, he didn't remember her acting like this during the last match. Was it a spirit thing. Regardless that didn't matter so much, he was still stuck at the moment, and she was firing an attack at him. Considering he didn't have much in the way of attacking from where he was Clayton held the anchor in front of him and held it forward with his other hand, hoping to at least block some of the damage, thankfully the anchor was bit and managed to block some of his upper body from taking the damage. However, Clayton had another idea in mind, instead of tanking the damage like he had been doing Clayton let himself be flung back, bouncing his back against the ground making it seem like the attack did quite a lot of damage. After a moment of laying on the ground Clayton would raise his gun leg and fire back right after with a gunshot aimed squarely at Honoka. Miss or hit Clayton would do his best to get back up, the thing holding him down most likely having gone away by now since the post was pretty much up and it's much easier to write when your character can move. Standing back up and finding his footing, a bit tired but definitely not out yet. Clayton C.A: Clayton takes a hit, drops down to the ground before counter attacking like a jerk with a gun leg.
Move used: Drop Fire: After taking a hit drops to the ground faking being knocked over before aiming their leg gun up and shooting the attacker with a quick counter attack. 3 post cool down.
