"If you're free, meet me at the hill overlooking the Village of Begginings."
An inocuous, seemingly innocent yet incredibly vague request like that would have probably gone unnoticed by Bloom, but once she saw who had sent that written invitation, she would hopefully be inclined to if not heed it, at least consider the offer.
Dio was admitedly, not someone you would ever say was good with words. He tended to say things without thinking, always sharing what was immediatelly going through his mind at any given moment, and more than once that had been to his detriment. After all, it had been exactly what had almost cost him his friendship with the Palmon...but then again, it was also the catalyst that led to him growing even closer to someone he once considered just a friend. Perhaps this was all the reassurance he needed to take the leap and try to get her attention in such a roundabout way. Maybe he just didn't want to mince words until he saw her face to face again.
At any rate, regardless of her choice, he'd still be waiting at the edge of that green hill, eyes fixated on the sun that was setting on the digital horizon. A nice sight to be sure, but that was not why he was here...not that he really knew the reason for that either. Maybe he needed someone that would see things his way, or someone that would tell him exactly what he had to hear.
Really it was likely all he wanted was someone to talk to right now, after he had pushed those that might had heard him away.

Totally not an ominous message disguise as a friendly request, there shouldn't be any reason to doubt it was genuine but with Dio one can never be too sure, either way the plant decided to humor this little request and go to the hills see what the imp was doing, normally she would go empty handed (rooted?) but since they were at a place that no danger could come their way (hopefully) she decided to ask Miyu for some food and a basket.
As the plant reached the place she was called in she would see the imp with his eyes fixed in the setting sun, Bloom couldn't help but to stare at him for a couple of seconds as there was something adorable of him just lost in thought, she would then sneak behind him and drop the tablecloth she had covering her basket on his head to announce her arrival.
"Nice place you pick, very romantic if I say so myself" The Palmon giggled teasing the imp "Come on, help me set up this picnic, it would be a shame to waste this beautiful view" She said placing the basket on the grass and taking the tablecloth of the imp's face
When everything was set and done she'd offer one of the sandwiches in her basket to Dio and wait to see what was that the imp wanted from her, there must be something more than just looking at the sunset, although she wouldn't really mind if it was just that

Just as the Dark Lord was beggining to fear his message would have gone unanswered, that perhaps his wording had been indeed too damn vague to warrant a serious response, he'd recoil back a bit as he found the entire world dissapearing in front of his eyes. Darkness covered everything, robbing him of that beautiful sunset he had been enjoying but a second ago.
Dear god, was he under attack? Had he gone blind perhaps? Could this entire thing had been all but a futile, stupid dream he never woke up fr- aaand then he heard the teasing giggles coming from Bloom. He instantly relaxed, taking a deep breath as he shook his head in partially mock annoyance (though there was a very genuine real amount of annoyance hidden).
"Tch, surely you would know. Be careful next time, you might scare a lesser mon off the cliff if you pull another stunt like that." He said, managing a chuckle as he gently took the opposite end of the cloth that the Palmon was holding, helping her lay it down gently on the ground before placing the basket in the middle. He had to admit it looked to be quite a quaint little picnic, certainly something he would have appreciated a lot more were the circumstances behind this invitation a bit less conflicting, though it was almost as adorable as the plant in front of him...not that he was eyeing her up intently or anything like that, why would that ever happen? Please...
As he sat by a corner of the cloth, he'd lightly pat the opposite corner in front of him, motioning Bloom to do the same. Once they were both at ground level and comfortable, he'd finally speak up again.
"So...uhm..." Well, technically words left his mouth, but it was hard to consider it speaking. He cleared his throat, already struggling to find the words to what he even wanted to tell her. He knew he had to be as direct as possible and that he shouldn't mince words, less things got even more awkward...so that's exactly why he immediatelly asked something completely unrelated, if still relevant. "How have you been? Miyu's "retirement" is hardly the most exciting thing but hopefully you're not too bored."
Despite the weak, sincere smile he managed if one could read mind they would easily hear the very distinct sound of angry screaming going on somewhere inside the imp, mostly directed at him and his own cowardice. Luckily for him, he had learned to fake a pretty credible poker face so Bloom would hopefully not notice anything was amiss just yet.

Bloom rolled her eyes at the comment of "scaring a lesser mon of a cliff", Dio being Dio so she didn't pay too much attention as she set up the little picnic, she would smile as Dio pat the cloth for her to sit it was a cute if funny gesture, maybe the Dark Lord has learned some manners after all, she would stare at the beautiful sunset in front of her and soon the characteristic sweet scent the flower on her head releases when she's happy would be all over the cliff.
"Can't complain, it's not excited but if it's what Miyu wants I'll be a good partner and respect her choice, and when she's ready to comeback I'll gladly adventure with her!" She smiled, to be honest she would want more adventures but at the same time she depends on Miyu to fight at her peak so it's better to just be a nice parter at the moment "I use to think that our friends would pull her back in but... The more I think about it outside of you, Carlos and a couple more there aren't many that can do that, our friend circle got extremely small" She knew the reason tho, so many people came and went or they themselves leave a group for their own reasons
Still while not the best of topics that didn't affect the mood of the plant, just being here in the digital world was enough to make her smile and Dio is not that bad of a company all things considered, at this moment there isn't any other place she'd rather be in!
"How about you? Miyu taking a long break is everyday knowledge, but I don't know what you, your brother and Carlos are usually up to"

"Well as long as you two agreed on that. I'm sure she'll come back eventually." Dio said with a knowing nod. The allure of adventure was a strong one, so as long as her tamer kept the good memories of her time in the digital world to heart, surely nostalgia would win her over in the end. He could only imagine how bored Bloom must have felt though, even if she reassured him she was fine with this. She probably was but surely someone with Bancho data in her proverbial veins would rather go out on an adventure rather than staying at home staring at the ceiling.
"It did, didn't it?" Dio mused, sighing a bit, his eyes locked on the horizon but looking nowhere in particular. Friends sure were a funny thing, for all they were cracked up to be a lot of them had a way of just...leaving your life suddenly. At least most of them. Some proved to be a lot longer lasting however.
"Well...if nothing else I'm glad we kept in touch. I enjoy our talks, and the rare outing." He said, a small smile on his face. But was that truly all that he enjoyed about Bloom? Fat chance, but it's not like he could just say that out loud without warning, lest he made things incredibly awkward without even five minutes of talking.
...speaking of awkward, he could practically feel a drop of sweat the size of the sea crawling down his back as soon as the plant asked not only about his personal life, but what of Gio's and Carlos'. "Oh, uh..." He stuttered slightly, quickly turning back to face her. Dio cursed to himself, wondering how to answer that without digging himself into an even bigger hole. He considered coming clean right there but...how?
What was he supposed to lead with? "Oh nothing much, I fought another imp that made me face my demons and realize I'm still a scared, useless idiot deep down that only knows how to lash out at those around to make himself feel bigger, so cutting those two from my life was obviously the smartest choice, and they agreed because they also went their own way. How about you Bloom, how's that tough uncle of a Leomon, are you two dating yet?" As he considered if jumping off that cliff right now was a viable escape route or not, he began answering with,
"We're taking a bit of a break too. Carlos I'm surprised hasn't called Miyu yet, figured he's probably taking time off at his place. Gio..."
Did he even know where Gio was right now?
"...he's hiking. Something about wanting to camp by himself or...something like that."
Well, at the very least the chances of him being right about that were NOT zero.
