What’s up, nerds? ari here with a pop quiz for you all! I’m in the middle of trying to make understanding movesets and the combat system just a bit easier, but the problem with that is that I don’t know what all needs to be understood. As a grader and all-around perfect person who’s incapable of making mistakes or ever being wrong, I just don’t have the basic grasp of you lesser folk.
Wait a minute… does that mean that my own perfection… is my imperfection!?
*head explodes*
Anywhoo, I’m feeling lazy and instead of figuring out what you don’t know, I figure you can all just tell me directly. So I wrote up a few questions with a template that you can fill out and PM to my account. Obviously, it’s not anonymous, so mind your language, please! And don’t call me any mean names either, no matter how much I probably deserve them! Even if it’s not anonymous, just answer these questions to the best of your knowledge, and if you don’t know the answer, just write that you don’t know! There’s nothing wrong with that, and finding out what people don’t know is the point of this entire thingamajigger!
For these questions, just assume that there aren't any “house rules” being used by the person running the thread, and you’re using the site rules as-is.
Just copy the template, and fill it out in a PM to me. Also, PASTE THE TEMPLATE IN BBCODE SETTING! It’ll look a lot prettier that way ^^

1. [b]Can you use a basic attack the same turn you use a named ability to attack someone? If you think you can't, do you think you should?[/b]
[b]My Answer[/b]:
2. [b]Can you use a basic attack the same turn you use a named ability to use a non-damaging effect, such as a shield skill, a buff/debuff skill, or a healing skill? If you think you can't, do you think you should?[/b]
[b]My Answer[/b]:
3. [b]Shield/dodge moves exist to block attacks, but at the same time, you can simply avoid moves without needing to devote one of your ability slots for it. For that reason, what's the point of having shield moves? [/b]
[b]My Answer[/b]:
4. [b]Because you can avoid moves without needing an ability for it, everyone has the option to dodge no matter what their abilities are. But both combatants constantly dodging each other's moves would be a constant pain. Assuming each player attacked you 10 times, how many attacks do you think would be appropriate for your character to dodge? [/b]
[b]My Answer[/b]:
5. [b]How much stronger do you think a 0-cd attack is over a basic attack, assuming the only effect of the ability is damage?[/b]
[b]My Answer[/b]:
6. [b]On average, how much stronger do you think a 1-cd attack is over a 0-cd attack, assuming the only effects are pure damage? What about 2-cd attacks, and 3-cd attacks?[/b]
[b]My Answer[/b]:
7. [b]On average, how many times stronger do you think an OPT attack is over a 0-cd attack, assuming the only effects are pure damage?[/b]
[b]My Answer[/b]:
8. [b]How many OPT's worth of attacks do you think your character can reasonably withstand? Assume all attacks are from Digimon of the same strength and level. [/b]
[b]My Answer[/b]:
9. [b]While the site doesn't have a fully stat-based system, we still have stat-increasing abilities and the like. Name as many of these “stats” that you can think of. [/b]
[b]My Answer[/b]:
10. [b]What's the highest boost a passive ability can be increased by, both with trade-offs and without them? In addition, what's the highest boost an active, non-opt ability can give? And an OPT? [/b]
[b]My Answer[/b]:
11. [b]How much weaker is a single twin Digimon, or an armor champ/ult compared to a solo armor champ/ult Digimon? What about a single twin armor champ/ult?[/b]
[b]My Answer[/b]:
12. [b]On average, Digimon are about 4 times stronger than the form below them. But how much does this impact their abilities? How much damage does a shield move typically reduce from a Digimon’s attack from a higher level? What about stat increases, or debuffs that either inflict a condition? [/b]
[b]My Answer[/b]:
13. [b]On a scale of 1-10, how much value do you have for movesets during a combat scenario? [/b]
[b]My Answer[/b]:
14. [b]Two players are fighting. Player One has a basic moveset of 0-cd moves, and mainly focuses on the roleplay aspect of the combat, such as using the environment, and trying to be as creative with their techniques as possible. Player 2 has a complicated, clearly-optimized moveset, but does little with the roleplay aspect of the encounter, and only throws out their techniques as they're written. Which player do you think should have the advantage in combat? [/b]
[b]My Answer[/b]:
15. [b]Are there any questions you'd like to have answered regarding movesets and the combat system in general? What’s the thing you like the most about it, and what parts about it do you find the most annoying?[/b]
[b]My Answer[/b]:
