Kai and Tera made their way through the Backup Bayou slowly but surely, Kai was a bit annoyed in her undershirt, glad she decided to wear one today as her blouse, tie, and jacket were hanging off the floating Pteramomon to dry as they would continue to be walking, in a tense silence with exception to the sound of Kai's feet stepping in and out of the shallow water. During this period Tera occasionally glancing at the human girl, who's eyebrow was still twitching occasionally with a bit of repressed rage. "Look I'm sorry okay, I genuinely thought that log was a Digimon walking to strike at us. You never know what could be lurking out in the middle of the Bayou." Tera said quite apologetically as she was still allowing herself to be a mobile trying rack after an incident. "I told you it was just a floating hollowed out log on a rock, we could see through it. Well I could..." She said as she recalled that ten minutes ago that the two were passing by a suspicious site. However in examining from a distance Kai ruled it as a log but Tera was still trigger happy and approached shooting and diving in, splashing Kai once again.
"I can't wait to find dry land... I feel like we may have gotten in circles. GPS doesn't really work here because another world, I thought you are, or were a courier, surely you know your way around this world." She asked as she was trying to recall the facts at hand. Tera wanted to shrug but she couldn't really do that well with her two legs. "True, but not many people ordered packages to the midst of the Backup Bayou, not exactly many people hired a courier for mysterious rendezvouses. Well not here at least, maybe in the valleys or mountains. Even then I mostly fly above at high speed till I find familiar landmark." She explained to her own defense, Kai shrugged a bit at that comment. "Fair enough I suppose, this does seem a bit out of the way. She said as she would keep walking, until the pair would hear something in the distance.
Kai started to get a bit worried as she grabbed her clothes off of Tera in case she needed free mobility as she would toss her blouse and beige coat back on before stuffing her tie in her pocket for now. She would hide low behind a tree as Tera flew just above the trees trying to hide from view as the two would look about cautiously to make sure they didn't blindly get involved in a fight they couldn't walk out of.

WHAM! CRASH! BOOM! The sounds of something fast and heavy slamming through trees and against rocks and ground travelled far along the water sending rippling shockwaves down the surface of the liquid until the sound of high, heavy buzzing came into hearing and then the sight of a massive Yanmamon rounding a corner bend in the river with something clinging around it's head and neck. Was that...was that a human?
Zack was in full superhero garb, bronze motorcycle jacket, bright yellow bee themed helmet with pants, gloves, boots, all matching his colors scheme as he held on for dear life with each dipping roll and sharp jolt the monstrous dragonfly tried to make to get him off of his back. Zack for his part was waving one arm in front of the dragonfly's eyes, making steering all the more difficult and dangerous for the beast.
Marigold was buzzing along behind the pair in her powerful Stingmon form, her own bolting wings only adding to the endless mounting buzz that became loud enough to rattle the teeth as they got closer. She pulled back, straightening to her full height in midair and holding out her arms.
"Moon Shooter!" Marigold shouted with three large metallic looking spikes shooting out of launchers on her lower arms. The Yanmamon tried to roll clear only for Zack to kick out backward with one of his boots, the heel of it glowing bright yellow as it connected with the base of one of the dragonfly's circling wings making it's attempted dodge hitch and stumble long enough for all six shots to slam right into the beast's tail and lower abdomen. It's wings faltered and it dipped toward the water line, it's head skating against the water hard enough that it's tail caught up with its forward momentum, somersaulting the creature onto it's back with a massive, cacophonous splash, the whipping forward of it's rear body finally tugging Zack loose and sending him sailing in a high arc before crashing onto his back in the shallow, muddy water. Just the SOUND the impact made was enough to induce a wincing cringe response as the water quieted itself for just a moment. Marigold catching up with the pair.
"Dad? DAD?! Are you-?" Marigold shouted as Zack popped up, groaning and soaked to the bone after getting dunked in the water he waved her off, grunting and cursing to himself as he stood up out of the surf not far from Kai and Terra.
"I'm fine, I'm fine...I'm gonna feel that one in the morning and a few dozen mornings after that. but I'll live." He said, the pair not even noticing the other tamer in their midst, Zack having his back turned and Marigold focused on Zack as he rolled his shoulders and stretched.

Kai stared dumbfounded as she looked at the display, seeing what she originally assumed to be two Digimon going at it in a tussle of life or death, however when she looked again her opinions were slowly shifting as she saw that one wasn't quite a Digimon. "Is that, a human?" She mouthed looking up at Tera who folded her wings up shrugging as she was not entirely sure what to believe, however as his Digimon partner addressed him Tera tried to cock her invisible eyebrow at the response before moving one claw over to the other to take her own pulse for a moment. Kai shrugged and mouthed "Possible they were bonded at the beginning of her life?" She mouthed suggesting a possible explanation for it. Tera took the explanation as the most likely explanation and tried to get behind the logic.
"Should we approach- screw it I'm going in." Tera mouthed before she descended. Kai sighed and figured there was no point now as she would approach the scene, looking at the man as she studied his physique, she could see he truly went through the ringer based on his posture to compensate for his injuries. "That's a bit of understatement. What's a human thinking trying to wrestle with gods and demons in this chaotic nightmare of a world? Busted shoulder and ribs at least, your knee doesn't look too good either." Kai said as she assessed the man objectively while Tera was on the verge of laughter as she looked at his superhero garb, before bursting out laughing and ended up rolling in the Bayou. Kai stepped aside as she was trying to avoid getting wet before realizing she was still a bit unkept herself as she buttoned up her blouse till just the top two were undone.
She stared at Tera for a moment as she would be a bit confused for the moment raising an eyebrow. "Oh, what is that ridiculous outfit? Oh, wait a minute, I remember... you're that human who thinks he's some superhero aren't ya? Oh the courier gossips said you looked a bit crazy but I wasn't prepared for this." She said before getting back up, still snickering a bit. Kai sighed exasperated as she closed her eyes, closing her eyes and rubbing her temples with one hand. "I apologize for her, um, impudence? I honestly can't find the words for it at the moment. I'm Kai, fresh to this world, this is my former courier turned partner and tour guide, Tera."

"Excuse you? EXCUSE YOU?!" Marigold said, the Stingmon's shoulder bunching and her wings buzzing angrily as she stomped up to Tera, staring down at her with those bright red insectoid eyes. "My father is out here risking his life to HELP people like you and the only thing that you can do is laugh when he gets himself hurt trying to stop someone from robbing a riverside village blind?! What the hell are YOU doing to make the world a better place you-!" Marigold snarled and shouted and barked until Zack came up behind her and put a hand on her back, silently prompting her to calm down.
"Easy, Marigold. Easy." Zack said, grunting at even the motion or raising his arm like that. Kai probably wasn't wrong about the multiple thick bruises or messed up bones and the like. "Go pick up our guest, we still have to march him back to Terminal so the guards can do something with him. The village doesn't have the ability to hold him." Zack said. marigold snarled in Tera's direction as she walked over to the Yanmamon, grabbing the beast by the abdomen, tossing the beastly bug over her shoulder and marching back up to her father. "What am I thinking? Well Kai that's a pretty common question with what's probably a bit of an anticlimactic answer. I want to help people. Digimon like that, who buzz fishing boats and snatch a whole day's catch out from under the fishermen and women barely getting by? Someone needs to stand up to them, so why not me?" He said, pulling his waterlogged helmet off, swamp water dribbling out of the helmet's inner lining as the blonde American shook out his short hair, picking out a couple of bits of swamp weed and scrub that had gotten stuck. A small impact cut like that gotten by a boxer was bleeding down over his cheek and the side of his face, just to the right of his right eye. He unzipped his jacket pocket, unpeeling a bandage and slapping it over the cut on his face.
"The outfit is a symbol. Something that good people can rally behind so they don't have to be scared anymore. It's about hope." Marigold said, still hefting the groaning dragonfly over her shoulder as she used some hanging vines to tie its legs and it's wings against its body.
"You'll have to excuse her. She can get a little defensive in my honor." He said, smiling at Tera. The insulting or debasing of his heroic persona didn't seem to bother him personally at all. He was too committed for that. "A courier hmm? That's important work." He said, meeting Tera's disbelief and insults with kindness and empathy for her profession. Lots of the digital world was remote and depopulated, being able to deliver goods to people saved lives.

Kai was definitely not prepared to be on the receiving end of the wrath of a humanoid insect today as she stepped back a bit as she started to reach for her Fusion Loader in her inner pocket. The Champion level Digimon seemed to make Tera quiet down as well given that in this situation, aerial advantage might've been a moot point given Stingmon can fly as well. Kai listened intently to the two as they spoke before she had her own philosophy on the subject.
"True and honorable to take the burden of aiding others onto yourself, defending those who cannot defend themselves, but going around in a mask like a superhero, is questionable." She said as she was not the biggest fan of the fantasy medium for a few reasons. "Superheroes are a faulty creation that can be misconstrued into a message that it's okay for kids to do whatever they want if they feel it's necessary for a greater good. Superheroes can cause more problems then they inspire. What if a kid got into this hellscape of a world and saw you and followed in your footsteps then decided to take the act back into our world?" Kai said as she inadvertently started a debate on her own view on the roles of superheroes in modern day with a negative tone towards them. "Happens way more often then you think- oh very few deaths don't worry. Just a few scars and broken bones most of the time." Tera said as Kai cocked an eyebrow. "Lot of deliveries to the hospital. Not everyone likes the food there." Tera commented before Kai shrugged it off for now.
"Anyways, I apologize for any insult. I'm an aspiring lawyer at the moment so I may have a, tempered view of superheroes. I just fell into this world recently and barely know my way around. So far all I know is there are sapient beings known as Digimon that inhabit this world, they have strange progressive metamorphic capabilities naturally, and that humans get paired with some of them in certain types of partnerships. I'm just trying to find my way out of this swamp, preferably back home but I'll settle for anywhere I can stay dry for more then five minutes at this point." Kai said with sincerity and Tera sighed a bit depressed. "Come on, I waited for years for my dream, I already had to settle for an Xros General, and now you wanna leave right away?" Tera said with teary eyes looking right up at Kai.

"I believe you and I are going to disagree strongly on that." Zack admitted to Kai, one could probably tell just by looking at how he spent his time that his opinion of existing institutions was less than stellar. "While a lack of direct public oversight is something I worry about my bigger worry is about the institutionalized justice system that people like you are a part of. They're often unjust, biased if not downright bigoted, more concerned with minimum sentencing and making criminals "pay" as opposed to creating actual workable solutions that address the root causes of crime or assessing the motives of criminals." He said, showing Kai that he was more than able to defend his position where it stood. He wasn't just some thrill seeker. "Beside the fact that while trials and juries are all well and good, they don't help dead people all that much. In the moment, when there's something happening and the line between life and death is only a second or two wide someone has to act and it is always better that members of a community are inspired to help one another rather than waiting for the cops to find the care in themselves to respond." He finished. He seemed to have a workable opinion of trials and juries and lawyers, his opinion on the role of the police was less so.
"Calling the Digital World a hellscape is showing how much you know." Marigold said, grunting and looking away from the law student to be and her courier partner. She was on her best behavior at the moment but mostly because of her father's insistence. "The Digital World is just full of people trying to get by, same as anywhere else. We may not look like people but that doesn't make us monsters. Most digimon are just trying to feed themselves moment by moment, same as any human you meet." She said, admonishing the young lady for being so negative. She had to take, ironically, a more humanist perspective on it all to get the full picture.
"Come on, we're headed in the direction of Terminal anyway. That's the capital of the Digital World. Leads out of the swamp at least and you can take the Trailmon home." Zack said, bowing at the waist and gesturing in a direction before he and Marigold began walking that way, stepping over roots and vines. "It seems that you both have a little something to learn. Let's see if we can enlighten a little as we walk and talk, no?" He said with a grin, tucking his helmet under his arm as he waited for the pair to begin following them along a slightly flatter trail of marshy ground.

"My problem with superheroes is they think a mask lets them take the drastic measures they think is necessary and escape the consequences, I've already suffered at the hands of someone who thought he was above being accountable... I get a scar in my back from where I knife nearly went for it cause someone thought they would be heroic for saving their family from me testifying against my father. System isn't perfect but the re's a fine like between heroics and anarchy. Trials aren't perfect, but tell me, what if that Digimon you just hurt was a desperate man trying to feed his starving kid or there was a mistake of fact? What if he was defending himself and in a bad state before you decided to finish him off as he was trying to get back to someone that needed him?" She explained as she and Tera were following the two and their prisoner. She had her own thoughts on the matter as she believed intentions can be misconstrued.
"Well, I suppose I've just been around too many twofaced people in my life that I suppose I'm just a bit biased myself to anything of the sort. But tell me, is it not convenient that if you make a mistake, like accidentally beat up a man who was defending himself and helped the assailant go free or something of the sort, people blame your mask, your superhero persona, and the real you can't be held accountable without extensive research?" She asked which did pique Tera's mind a bit as she did recall a few facts about the tamers and the sort that did come to the world.
"When she says it like that, and given that most people don't wear a mask when they go good around here even if it involves massive fights against evil without a mask..." She shrugged a bit with her wings. "Look I didn't mean to disrespect the world by calling it a hellscape or start an ideological debate on the merit of Superheroes, honestly the latter happens way to often and I'm getting a bit of Deja Vu was this was unfortunately a mock trial scenario I had last week, I got the superhero sentenced to life imprisonment alongside his villain in that case." She said as she found herself getting to her wits end very gradually. She was trying to avoid a full shutdown by stress or believe she was in a fever dream after an accident. She did what she could to maintain her sanity and still process the situation at hand. "But I didn't ask to be dragged into a world of cannibals with giant power to be a tamer or whatever or another debate on vigilantism. I'm just trying to do what I can to survive without giving up my principles."
"Do you even like any Comic?" Tera asked as she looked up at Kai, who nodded. "Civil War." She said and Tera sighed exasperatedly as she was expecting that answer. "Thought so, you were on the Registration Act's side." She muttered as she was wondering why she was even paired with such a woman before she recalled the remark. "Also about earlier, that wasn't necessarily cannibalism, two different species of Digimon, a Tanemon and a Jungle Mojyamon are about as different as you from a normal person- Ah shrap, Freudian slip..."

Zack paused, turning, looking Kai in the eyes. he wasn't hiding his face. Bright blue eyes looking back into hers, holding his face in her view just long enough that she could memorize it if she so chose and then he opened his lips to speak.
"My name is Zack Zello. I was born in Bangor, Maine, in the United States of America. I'm currently attending an cultural education program at the university of Shibuya with a focus on the history of media. Here in the Digital World I publicly run a shelter for wayward digimon who need a warm meal and fresh sheets. I'm not hiding. I've got nothing to hide." He said, planting a very firm roadblock in Kai's tempo about why she didn't like superheroes. Zack had no secret identity. The helmet was one part keeping him from getting killed and the other part working as a symbol to inspire others. He had no intention of hiding from consequences behind it, he had nothing to hide and accepted full responsibility for his actions whatever they may be.
"Finish him off? What the hell is that supposed to mean?" Marigold said, hefting the groaning insect on her shoulder. He wasn't going to be doing loops in the sky in the next few days but he'd recover as good as new. "We're superheroes. We don't kill people, we don't hurt people in ways that are worse than being on bed rest for a couple of days. If there is some kind of understanding, which there very honestly may be, then we'll work it out and find a way to help him without him needing to steal from others to get by. It's a better outcome than locking him up on the spot for the bare facts of what he did or didn't do." Marigold said. She and her father always tried to be open and flexible. There was a difference between crime and moral evil after all.
"Here, even." Zack rummaged in the coat pocket of his suit, pulling out a calling card. It had his name, his address in the human world and directions to his shelter in the digital world, plus his contact details both on his cellphone and digivice. "If you ever feel like I need to get served, here's how you can do it. Keeps me honestly." He said, giving Kai a smile as he searched through his backpack for a water bottle and a clean, cool cloth for her to drink and cool herself down. "Not much longer to the edge of the swamp, promise." He said, still forging ahead, ripping down branches or vines that might be in the way, leading the pack even as his bruises and cuts whined at him internally. "Your first time in the Digital World can be quite a trip. Though I should not Digimon don't often...die, exactly. They reincarnate at the Village of Beginnings more often than not, a little shaken but cared for until they can begin again." He said. An optimist until the end he wanted to help Kai see the bright side of the adventure that she was being put into. He hadn't been exactly prepared either so it was probably good that he was willing to offer her a hand. In one case literally as he held out a hand to help her climb over a muddy rise after jumping to the top from a standing start.

Kai put away the card in her coat pocket before she would accept the man's hand up and over the muddy rise. "Next time I get sucked into another world, remind me to be wearing pants and better shoes... or just the latter if possible."
"If Digimon are virtually immortal and recycle themselves, wouldn't dying and reconstituting have virtually no meaning other then a temporary inconvenience?" She said as she was pointing out the logic. "And from what I heard primary village sounds like a positive place for rehabilitation as one returns. Isn't the only way to actually kill a Digimon to destroy their, Core Digits or something?" She said as she recalled the Tanemon saying something about one constant digital organ.
"I mean when you phrase it like that to us death and reincarnation should be something we sit around the campfire and laugh about, but for some, it's a fate that they wouldn't wish on their worst enemy. For us, it can be like..." She said stopping to think about the word before asking. "What's the word again, when a human is put to sleep by chemicals and cut open and meddled with their insides?" She asked as it was on the tip of her tongue at the moment. "Surgery?" Kai said before a light went off in Tera's mind. "Yep, that's the one. Not the most pleasant of recoveries even if it's necessary." She said as she would shudder at the thoughts of her twenty three times starting over in Primary Village.
Kai looked a bit embarrassed for a moment as she didn't think it was quite so awkward. "I see, didn't think it was that bad. Humans don't really have conception of the beginning or end of life so I guess Digimon might see it from another angle." She said as she would look a bit awkward before she would shrug. "I feel like I'm in the wild west of Science Fiction... why couldn't I be sent to Deep Space 9 instead..." She jokingly whined a bit before Tera spoke up. "Voyager was better." She commented prompting a glance from Kai. "You can't be serious."

"Some Digimon aren't lucky enough to wake up in the Village of Beginnings in the first place." Marigold said in a quiet, slightly terse tone. She wasn't being openly upset about it but it did seem to bear saying from her for whatever reason. Zack reached up, placing a hand on her upper arm which seemed to soften her somewhat.
The tree line around them broke, muddy water and shady canopies breaking out out the wide, winding rises of the Mainframe Hills, the colorful toy land of the Village of Beginnings easily visible just over some of the hills with smoke rising up from the houses and shops of Rosewood a little further in the distance.
"And you wonder why I have a uniform for when I'm hanging around here." Zack grinned to Kai. His heavy boots and slick jacket did seem to be holding up compared to Kai's everyday flats and skirt. "Come on, the shelter isn't that far from here." He said, pointing to a high quartet of hills to one side, closer to Rosewood. The high rises of those hills hiding whatever was between them in a little valley. "As for the reincarnation question, I can't say much to that effect having never done it myself. From what I heard though the process of dying and then waking up in a new body you have to grow up in again from scratch is not exactly pleasant. Trauma is trauma even if it all "works out" in the end, you know?" He said, flicking a glance up at Marigold again. He knew why the subject was so sore for her but also knew that it wasn't exactly his story to tell. She had started off on the wrong foot with the strangers and so she wasn't exactly fond of sharing as they marched up and down the grassy hills of the area near Rosewood. The sounds of civilization could be heard in the distance, people chatting and shouting in the street, the smell of fresh baking bread on the wind, the image of young digimon children chasing each other back and forth like specks at the distance that the quartet was viewing them.

"I wondered because the costume looked a bit like you were trying to blend in with aliens. There are plenty of normal clothing designed for the outdoors, I just didn't think to wear any as I did not reasonably think a wormhole was gonna open inside a school computer lab during a strange power outage at quarter after seven and following a trail of flickering monitors." She said as she was trying to avoid the reincarnation topic seeing how she accidentally struck a nerve with the insect based Digimon.
"I mean, kinda on you for following the trail. That sounds like a horror movie setup. It's amazing there wasn't a serial killer or something else twisted." Tera commented as she had her own opinion on the story as the group was coming out of the swamp and headed towards civilization. Tera started to recognize the sights as she was getting her bearings again. "Finally, I hate the bayou at times, tricky to navigate when you rarely get deliveries and got company. I think including the Fusion Loader I only had three deliveries to the Bayou and all of those were just dropping from sky." She commented as the group would be walking outwardly.
Kai would turn to Zack and Marigold as even if she was disheveled and a mess she didn't wish to forget her manners as she would bow out of respect to the man and insect woman. "Thank you for leading us free of the swamp." She said as she would thank the duo. "I think it's best we part ways, I don't suppose you want your prisoner to regain consciousness around children and I do need to make a few pitstops in town before I can go any further. I am sure Tera knows the fastest way to take me to the Capital afterwards." She said formally as she did not want to inconvenience the two by having them do extra work in case she and Tera wound up in danger as a result of the prisoner transfer.
"Yeah, pretty much smooth sailing from here at this point. I'm still a bit wiped by that weird fusion thing that happened earlier, something's not sitting right and I could use some rest, and Kai definitely needs some. What's it been, eighteen hours without sleep?" She said as she looked at Kai trying to assess what the girl had left to give physically. "Accounting for time differences, just about." She commented a bit as she shrugged off the thought.

'Well where the hell is the fun in wearing normal clothes?" Zack said with a grin. He'd dried out a lot since they'd exited the swamp, the slick leather he was wearing had let a lot of the moisture dribble free the moment it wasn't getting soaked any longer and the sun that always seemed to be above the rolling hills was helping with that too. "And oh yea, one tamer to another..." He said, knowing "Tamer" was technically incorrect terminology but figuring it was a good catchall either way as he turned to her, extending his hand for her to shake. "it's probably for the best that you start to expect the unexpected. Things in the Digital World can happen for any reason or no reason at all. Especially in the physical realm of things. Cause and effect or basic rules of physical sciences don't really apply here." He said, pointing to a spot one one of the hills where a rock was sticking out of the ground as an inverse pyramid, only stuck into the ground by it's smallest point in a way that meant it should absoulutley have toppled over at the slightest breeze and yet the moss growing on it meant it hadn't been moved in quite some time.
"Remember that if you ever need help with anything, you've got our card." Marigold said, pointing to the small laminated paper card with all of their info that Zack had handed the pair. Even though the quartet fundamentally disagreed on Zack and Marigold's methods that sure as hell wasn't going to stop the pair from showing up when called, especially if Kai and Tera were in trouble.
"And our shelter is open twenty four hours a day. By that I mean the door's always unlocked, I can't promise we'll be in or awake or whatever. If you need to steal some food and supplied, drop yourself in a fresh bed or just close the door behind you and take a breather from all the madness then never hesitate, even if we're not home." He said, jerking his thumb over to the massive foursome of hills to one end of the area where signs at the top of each pointed the way to the valley between where the large refurbished manor house lay. Zack and Marigold knew that some Digimon, either in too much of a hurry or too proud to openly accept help would come in, take their supplies and dart out before the pair returned only to find themselves a few pounds of food and a couple med kits lighter. It didn't bother them much, it wasn't exactly stealing when all the supplies were openly free for the taking anyway.

Kai listened intently to the two as they had some last bits of advice. Honestly the fact that they were willing to go out of their way to help others did speak more then anything that Kai could find morally grey about her. Kai made sure she had the card tucked away in a safe place in case she ever needed. She did not want to take advantage of their kindness but she did make note of the services the two offer others at no cost. "Thanks, we'll keep that in mind, you are most generous." She said as she did not want to seem ungrateful at all for the invitation but she just wanted to take the quickest route home at this point. Tera shrugged a bit as the offer didn't sound too bad but she could understand Kai's desire to get along the way.
"Yeah, at this point it's smooth sailing back to the center. We should be fine." The cyborg Digimon speculated as she returned to Terminus from the outskirts many times over. The former courier was all but confident in her ability to guide from here on out as she would lead Kai towards Rosewood. "I somehow have a strange feeling your wrong." Kai said as she was starting to understand just how the world operates, an extreme variant of Murphy's law coupled with unhinged creative imaginary concepts as reality. It was going to be an interesting challenge to try and navigate the world, however seeing the way Zack and Marigold were able to fight off such a powerful threat with confidence, only made her start to worry that she may have needed to prepare her last testaments earlier.
"Hopefully we meet again one day." She said trying to be as pleasant as possible, starting to head towards the settlement.

"My friend, I'm almost certain that you can count on it." Zack said, snapping a two finger salute and a wave to the pair as they walked over the edge of one of the nearby hills out of sight. Zack yawned, stretching his aching body and turning toward home. He was still soaked to the bone and chilled like a can of soda in a cooler full of ice water, he needed a change of clothes and something warm to eat, sooner rather than later.
"She's gonna have a lot to learn. Those two are gonna have to get on the same page if they wanna live for very long." Marigold said, snickering just a tad more darkly than was probably totally required, earning a sharp sidelong look from Zack even if he couldn't totally disagree with the sentiment.
"I'm sure she'll be fine, she just needs a little bit of attitude adjustment more than anything. Hopefully she'll be able to have a little fun here. She keeps herself wound up that tight eventually her strings are gonna snap on her." He said, agreeing with Marigold mostly as they found the crest of the hill toward home, scooting between two of the high rises in a narrow valley between the two.
"Hard to believe that that used to be us." Marigold said, snapping a look over her shoulder, though the pair were long out of sight. It wasn't an exact comparison, Zack and Marigold's father-daughter relationship meant that they started out on a much better foot than the other pair seemed to and Zack's willingness to just accept craziness at face value let him hit the ground running so to speak but the pair certainly had taken some time to adjust, especially since they had slammed into the superhero idea head first very soon after meeting one another for the first time.
"Well, we made it out alright. So that should be plenty enough hope for them." He said as the door to the shelter creaked open and he finally began to unzip himself from the water retaining jacket.
