Green as a Forest (W/ Gihai)

Kai and Tera would be making their way through the forest, carefully walking as they would maintain a steady and paced course after they left Rosewood. "So once we clear the woods, it'll be easier for me to fly you to Terminus. Easier places to land when I need to rest, and there are a few streams along the way after clearing the forest." Tera explained as she was trying again to justify the reason for the delay they were making. The Former Courier was no stranger to the woods a she had numerous deliveries here so she was more then confident about this particular shortcut.
Kai was confident that Tera knew where she was going, since Tera did explain to her before her normal grounds was the Eastern Timberlands. She would start to get an eerie feeling as she looked about the woods. "Not exactly more welcoming then the Bayou..." She commented as she would feel a bit stressed about the situation. "At least you're not soaking wet." Tera interjected and Kai chuckled at the thought as Tera was not exactly wrong. Kai was dry and not at risk of being soaked at a moment's notice which did by far make this a more pleasant experience.
"True enough I suppose. How long do we need to trek through the forest again?" She said as she wasn't impatient, just trying to temper herself as she wanted to aware of the facts she could know, since her position in the world seemed hard to determine. "About seventy minutes on a bad day at this rate, so somewhere around almost an hour." She said as she was trying to figure it out roughly from experience. "But odds of us getting lost are about as strong as a Beige Agumon streaking through the woods." She said confidently.

The woods were always like a home to Gihai--which was weird considering she never considered herself to really HAVE one of those. Wandering around always held it's own share of secrets and adventures alike, and today seemed to be no different for the lizard of emerald. As the duo continued along their path, it was not hard to notice a pair of blue eyes watching as they seemed to speak about the potentialities of getting lost in the woods.
Nobody wanted that, right?
"...I'm not a beige Agumon or anything, but would you like some help?" Gihai piped up from the bush she was...well, not exactly hiding it. More like just sitting in to chill for the most part. Taking a break.
"My name's Gihai, it's nice to meet you!"

"A green Guilmon? That's a lot weirder then a beige Agumon." Tera said after she turned to look at the source of the mysterious voice that came from the woods. Kai would be a bit more confused as she stared at Tera. "Kinda a bit rude there but why is that? Perhaps she's just a Jungle Guilmon or something. Agumons are normally a shade of orange yellow." She said as she would be a bit confused as to why Tera was shocked at the idea of a Green Guilmon. "Normally they are red, black, or sometimes blue." She explained before Kai would brush off the abrasive attitude of Tera and focus on the other Digimon.
"Hey there, I'm Kai Aizawa, this is my companion Tera." Kai said as she was trying to be polite. "I apologize for any offense, none was intended. Kai said as Tera would be rubbing her neck awkwardly in a bit of shame. "Yeah, well, in my defense that segway into the conversation did open up the line of dialogue. But yeah, in any case I think we are good for the most part."

The voice certainly did not seem offended, no. More amused than anything. "I dunno why I'm green either, I just Am. Sometimes things just happen to be that way and all of that." The Guilmon stifled a snerk as she clambered out of the bush, rolling a shoulder.
"Well, either way, that's nice to hear!" The Guilmon chirped, seeming to fold her claws a bit before she tilted her head at Kai specifically. "...Are you new here? I don't really recall seeing you around before or anything. But, then again I could also be horribly wrong and I don't really wanna make a butt of myself by making assumptions, you know?"
A glance was then spared towards Tera. "...You as well, really. Don't think I've actually met any Pteramon yet." Only heard of them. Peerless fighters of the sky! Like every other Digimon who bothered to have flight. "So...what's the story?"

Kai twirled a strand of her hair as she would look up at her the green forest dwelling Digimon, seeing how they weren't entirely offended by the remarks. "Yeah, I fell into the world rather recently, just came from Rosewood and heading out towards Terminus." Kai explained as she saw no reason to hide the fact that she was headed for the capital. Her Xros Loader was attached to her belt at the moment, for ease of access in case she needed to use it, despite only having Tera and the Incomplete Xros that seemed to pose some form of harm to the Digimon.
"As for me, I used to work as a courier for a small company that went defunct recently. Used to pass through this part of the woods as a shortcut or safer detour to Rosewood. However in retrospect it appears my boss knew both about the company going under and I was fate bound to her, and as some twist of irony had my last delivery be her Xros loader to be sent to where she fell into this world." She explained a bit more as she was assuming that was what the Guilmon wanted to hear regarding a story. "We met in the bayou, she got soaked four times, we made our way to Rosewood for a bit, now we're on our way to Terminus." She explained a bit about how the met, with Kai giving Tera a side eye glare about some of the details.
"As for why you might not see me or any other Pteranomon, we tend to be fast when we fly through the woods, or we fly above them. Really depends on what brings us to the area." She explained as she was trying to cover her basis on the explanation as to why the Guilmon may have rarely seen another of her kind.

Huh, Gihai genuinely hadn't anticipated that guess to be right on the money. Moreover, Kai was incredibly...honest-seeming? At least when it came to telling plans. "...Right, some friends of mine told me they were heading over there for business reasons...Should go and catch up with them at some point."
Friends being mercenaries that were more people Gihai extricated from ElDoradimon. But that's a tale for another time.
On the subject of Tera's...employment woes that were really just company woes? "I'm terribly sorry to hear that, Tera! But...I guess some things happen for a reason. Hopefully your service under your general is long and fruitful." Gihai didn't know much about the bond between a human and a Digimon--she knew it was rather potent given the people she had worked with before, and that it was capable of fostering power beyond power, but...
...Humans were foreign to her. "Plausible! I think! ...Or Pteranomon don't like the woods, either's likely, I think." Story had been acquired, nonetheless. "Well, it's a pretty straightforward path towards the Digital Core from here--only problem is that it's an hourish walk and...sometimes things come out of the forest. Mildly spooky..."

"Eh, yeah, but it's not a huge problem if you can fly above the woods." Tera said confidently as she knew from experience that flying over the woods could be a great way to survive the dangers of the Digital world. She did do such before when she was in situations where she would be unable to fight or have zero chance at victory. Kai would look at Tera cocking an eyebrow. "Forgetting someone in that equation?" Kai said as she was wondering where Tera thought Kai would fit. Tera knew grabbing Kai would make it a bit awkward at first to fly above the trees.
"Right, yeah... So yeah. Forest is not that bad once you've been around for a while. So, yeah, some weather we're having..." Tera said awkwardly trying to redirect the flow of the conversation. Kai rolled her eyes at the comment as she would start to try change the flow of the conversation to something less, cowardly. "So Gihai, do you live in the woods or are you just massing through as well?" She asked trying to refocus the conversation into something that didn't make her wonder if Tera would endanger her or not.
