Kai and Tera were at the moment resting by a stream as they were traveling across the plains towards Terminus. Tera was laying down on her back breathing heavily, while Kai was on her knee by the river as she was filling her water bottle before shaking it, letting the filtered water bottle clean the water inside before she would return to the Digimon. Kai gently lowered the bottle to Tera and helped her get a drink. "So you sure there's no rest stop in the area?" Kai asked Tera as she was sure there had to be one in the area if Tera would fly along this path frequently. She let Tera get a drink before answering. "There is one, technically it's up ahead, but I can't really take you there. No offense." She said a bit sheepishly but Kai was confused on why she should be offended. She considered the line very carefully as she looked at it from a few angles and did not know what to say.
"That alone is not enough to indicate what could be offensive, is it Digimon only?" She said as she was trying to wonder if there was a ban on humans in that particular establishment. Tera shrugged a bit as she would try to get to the point. "No, just non flyers in general need to be accompanied by a flyer who takes responsibility for their add-ons. It's a common travelers stop for a number of couriers. It's way up in the sky and I'd rather not take a woman who I met by her falling from the sky to a place up high in the sky." She said as she would try to explain it as gently and succinctly as possible.
Kai took a drink from her water bottle as she listened to the explanation and argument Tera provided, starting to see why Tera said no offense earlier. "Fair enough I suppose. Guess we'll just make a few stops when we can." She said as she would sit a bit more comfortably next to the Digimon. "Yeah, we'll be fine."

"Bio-Hybrids, huh?" The archer Falcomon known as Kohaku asked as he traveled alongside his Biyomon sister Ruri and their partnered friends, Kaya and Hawkeye, along a stream in the Mainframe Hills. "I've heard of Spirit Users being able to turn into Digimon before, but... you're saying Digimon data is actually baked into them?"
"Yeah," Kaya replied with a nod. She was wearing her usual outfit today: a black beret hat with a Hawkmon feather, an orange shirt with a denim vest, denim skirt, pink fingerless gloves, black knee-high socks and brown flat shoes. "They were so strong, too... they looked like they were champion levels, but they gave all of us a beating... and Hawkeye..." She didn't even want to say it out loud.
"They almost killed me," Hawkeye finished her thought, causing Kaya to flinch a little. "If Weston hadn't come when he did, me and our allies would've been ripped in half by now.
"And they're going around, doing all that to Digimon?" Ruri asked. "They're not going to come to Rosewood, are they?"
"They better not," Kohaku said. "We already have one freak to deal with, and I'm not risking losing my sister like we lost Gramps, so we're not sticking around if these freaks of nature decide to start knocking at Rosewood's door."
"I doubt it will come to that, Kohaku. There are capable 7/71st soldiers occupying Rosewood, like Gem's mother and brother, for example. I'm confident they can scare off even the Bio-Hybrids."
"I hope you're right. Gem's always talking about his awesome family, so there's gotta be a little bit of truth to that, I guess."
As they were walking down the stream, it wouldn't be long before the quartet spotted two others laying down by the stream. It appeared to be a teenage human girl alongside a Pteranomon-X. Not wanting to be rude and potentially wanting to make a new friend, Kaya would be the one to initiate a conversation. "Hey there!" she would simply say as she waved to the group.

As the two would be resting, Kai would look over to see there was someone approaching her. Kai tried to scan the source of the voice before she noted the girl and the three avian Digimon nearby. However Kai found herself scanning the girl trying determine an age from visual cues. "That girl is eleven or twelve, maybe thirteen, is there a minimum age requirement for this world?" Kara thought to herself as she would stand up to greet the incoming girl. "Greetings. I'm Kai Aizawa, and this is my Digimon companion, Tera."She explained a bit as she would introduce herself. She was still wearing a red halter-neck top, rolled up pants, and boots, with her hair tied back. Her bag was beside her, while her purple Xros Loader was clipped into her belt of her hands on her right side. She kept it there as it was more convenient for the moment. Tera would look over a the group of four, not even "I suppose you're also an Xros General? An all bird army?" The Pteranomon-X commented as she saw the three by Kaya. She knew it wasn't uncommon for a tamer to have two Digimon paired, but even she knew that three would be pushing the lines outside of an Xros. "So what brings you four out here?" Kai asked as she trying to prevent the situation from getting a bit awkward or asking why someone Kaya's age was even in the Digital World. Outfit: |

Kaya could tell when someone was questioning her age. It happened a lot more often ever since she became partnered with Hawkeye. Apparently, she was way below the age limit when it came to being paired with a talking monster that can breathe fire and fly, despite what all those monster-collecting anime shows and video games would tell you. It honestly got a little bit tiring after a while... would this all change once she got to high school?
The girl would then introduce herself as Kai Aizawa, and her Pteranomon-X partner as Tera. "I'm Kaya Matsui, and this is my partner Hawkeye, and our friends Kohaku and Ruri."
"Greetings." "Hello!" "'Sup?"
Tera would then make the fair assumption that Kaya was a Xros General of an all-bird army, considering she had three bird Digimon accompanying her at the moment. "Oh, no, you have the wrong idea. Hawkeye here is my actual partner. Kohaku and Ruri are more like our friends that join us from time to time."
What brought the group out here today? Honestly... none of them even really knew themselves. "I suppose we're all just going for a walk together. Getting some fresh air away from the city. Judging by recent events, goodness knows we could use some peace and quiet."
"Not me. I'm almost always looking for some action."
"I think I'm with Hawkeye, brother. A nice relaxing day does sound very nice right about now."
"Ditto, Ruri. Hawkeye. Though I wasn't expecting to run into another human all the way out here... especially one I've never met before. Are you both new to being partners?" Kai could definitely tell by this point that, despite Kaya's age, she was MORE than well-versed in the ways of the Digital World and being a Tamer.

"Well, I am still trying to see if divorce is an option, if that tells you anything." Kai said as she was trying to answer the question given about the state of their relationship. The comment did not go over Tera's head as she would roll over and perk her head up a bit annoyed. "Hey! Not like I nearly killed you once this whole time or anything..." She said to her defense making Kai roll her eyes.
"Once would've been enough." She jabbed back at the Digimon as she would start to think over the various times. Tera scoffed in disbelief. "When have I ever put your life in jeopardy?" She said hoping for Kai to stammer as she would have nothing to say and stammer.
"Hypothermia, you pretty much made me have to get in the line of fire of a raging Jungle Mojyamon for you to get out of your own way to be able to save me and the uptight religious Tanamon, hypothermia again, and also you nearly started a few fights you couldn't win but escape without me when all we had to do was just apologize for accidentally cutting into someone's roots." She explained without hesitation making the jet like Digimon quiet down as she heard all the examples, before seeing that Tera was done and would return to focus on the others.
"But yeah, we just came from Rosewood, on our way to Terminus."

Wait, divorce?
The group was not prepared for that kind of answer at all. Were things seriously going that badly between the two of them? Tera tried to defend herself by claiming that she at least never nearly killed Kai before... only for Kai to go on and list off multiple, multiple times where Tera did almost get Kai killed. Kaya, Hawkeye, Kohaku and Ruri just looked more and more uncomfortable after each instance that Kai had listed off.
"I'm surprised you're not actually dead yet," Kohaku muttered, earning a glare from Hawkeye in the process.
"Oooookay, so you guys clearly have a lot to sort out," Kaya declared. "I think it would probably be best if weeeee just kinda walk along and pretend like we didn't hear any of that, alright? Alright, good."
"Wait, really?" Hawkeye asked Kaya, quiet enough so that Kai and Tera couldn't hear. "I was almost expecting you would sit down and try to help them through their issues."
"Usually I would, but I really don't feel comfortable getting into all of that," Kaya responded to Hawkeye. "Well, it was... nice meeting you two? Hopefully you work your issues out soon! We'll be in Rosewood if you ever wanna try and see us again." And so, Kaya, Hawkeye, Kohaku and Ruri would just continue their walk, leaving Kai and Tera to hopefully sort out their issues...
