Beta never noticed how quiet the forest was, hearing the sounds of her own steps throughout the area, the wind blowing through the trees, it was quiet. Though at the same time it was also quiet dark, slowly but surely the further her and Dylas walked through the forest the darker it got. Beta could still see well in the dark however, she had learned from her time with Alpha how to do so, it didn't make her feel any safer though, the knot in her stomach grew as she was reminded of that old room she was trapped in, surrounded by the darkness. Thankfully Dylas never left her sight in front of her, while she couldn't say she knew the Wizardmon too well it was a comfort that he was nearby, reminding her she wasn't back there.
Dylas was leading, looking around the woods searching for something within the darkness, in his left hand was his staff and the right he held onto one of Ciel's gauntlets, looking down at it every so often as if he wanted to make sure it was still in hand just in case something happened. "Shouldn't be too much longer Beta, though I wonder how far in the forest this digimon is?" After a horrible time in Terminus the two of them sought refuge with one of the old teachers that Beta's mother learned from, walking deeper and deeper into the woods he couldn't help but feel he was being watched.
Beta felt the same, like eyes were all around her. Looking around the forest she saw nothing, wondering if it was just all in her head from the stress of what had been going on. Sadly this was quickly revealed to be false as the two of them heard something land on the trees above them, standing on a large branch looking down at the two of them.
"This forest is quite dangerous, I know not what you come for but you tread too close to my home I must ask that you two..." Staring down at the two of them his eyes locked onto Beta's, her red eyes staring up at the digimon's green eyes through the trees. "A red eyed Hackmon... I've only ever met one digimon of your kinda that shared that trait." Jumping down from the trees to the front of the duo the digimon revealed himself to be a WereGarurumon X. Standing up straight the Ultimate level digimon crossed his arms and stared at the two of them. "Who are you two?"
With that question asked Dylas took a step in front of Beta, who was eyeing the Ultimate level digimon with curiosity, as he pulled out the gauntlet he was given by Ciel, tossing it over to the Ultimate level digimon. "My name is Dylas, we were sent here by your apprentice Ciel, she said that you would be able to help her." Dylas motioned over to Beta as he said that.
Taking a step forward Beta nodded. "My name is Beta, I'm... I'm a fragment of the Red eyed Jesmon. That's probably who you were talking about." Beta said her voice a lot more downcast then usual, Given what she had just found out it was probably pretty easy to see why.
The WereGarurumon X caught the gauntlet, looking it over a few times in his hands and comparing it to his own. "I see, this is definitely Ciel's work. She has changed the design a bit but there's no mistaking it. Though a Fragment of him? I suppose an explanation would be in order. Follow me." Walking past the two of them he started to walk further into the forest before stopping for a moment and looking back at the two of them. "Make sure to keep up, it's quite easy to get lost." With that the Wizardmon and Hackmon followed after them, further into the dark forest.
Slowly the forest got darker and more quiet the further and further they walked into its depths. "Why do you live this far away from other digimon?" Beta asked as they walked, since no one else was talking and the silence was starting to worry her again she figured she'd try and get a conversation going.
"I've never been fond of other digimon, I prefer to be alone. I've lived here for a long time and aside from a few digimon here and there it's nice and peaceful. The last digimon I let stay with me would be Ciel." He paused for a minute still walking but with his eyes closed, thinking back on those days. "I suppose it's only fair that her daughter would be the second to visit."
Beta didn't respond and just started to walk further in silence, which caught the attention of the two other digimon but neither had a response and decided to just keep walking as well. Eventually they reached a small hut out in the depths of the woods, a very small farm was right behind it and another small building was next to the hut. It looked like it was only large enough to fit 2-3 digimon.
Walking inside the Weregarurumon offered them a seat, taking one himseld he then listened as they explained what had happened in Terminus, Dylas explained while Beta just sat there as if she didn't want to relive what had happened. After a while Dylas finished explaining leaving the Ultimate level digimon sitting there, processing what he was told.
"I see, I suppose that's what you meant by being a 'Fragment' of that Jesmon." It made sense now that he had context, if anyone else wants to context they should probably go read that thread cause the writer isn't going to explain it in this one.
"Yes, I'm not actually Ciel's daughter. I'm just half of what he was, Can barely even be called a whole digimon." Beta gave off a hollow laugh, it still hadn't fully sunk in exactly what that meant. "Maybe he's right, it'd be better if me and Alpha just."
"Beta, you can't start thinking like that. You've every right to decide what you are." Dylas interrupted not wanting to hear this come out of Beta's mouth of all digimon.
"Beta, that's who you are. Fragment or no, Hero or no none of that matters. All that matters is at this moment you make a choice. One that only you can make. You can stay here, hide until things blow over. You can choose to listen to that Myotismon, choose to let his words control and rob you of your life, or you can fight for you and Alpha's right to exist." Standing up from where he was sitting he walked over to the Hackmon who seemed a bit confused at his words.
"Every being has a right to decide what they wish to do in life, you are no exception. However there comes times were that right is challenged, where that right is pushed to a breaking point. I'm saddened that it has happened to you at such a young age but this is the unfortunate truth of this situation. Do you wish to fight? Your brother may of lied to you, Ciel lied to you but that shouldn't change your ideal. When I look in your eyes I see that you're at the breaking point so tell me, are you going to let this be the end after all you've suffered through?"
Beta was stunned for a moment, looking at the ground for a bit not able to face him, after a few seconds though she shook her head no. "No, you're right. I can't stop now. I-I'll fight. I have to fight! Being hunted, forced to be asleep for years. Always scared to death I'll wake up and be back to that dark room. I rose from all that, I fought through all that. I'm not letting this throw me down! I can't back down not anymore, never again!" Her words still had quite a lot of fear behind them but she stood straight, she had to do this no matter what.
"That's what I like to hear, alright then. We'll do this together Beta. While I don't like most of the digital world I do know how to find digimon, while you're here we'll find those digimon that work for Myotismon and work our way up, he wants your spirit broken and forced back down. This is the time you need to counter attack. I'll support you along the way." The WereGarurumon looked for Dylas but it would seem he had left while they were talking, leaving behind his grimoire telling them he was going to search for power.
Walking away from the hut Dylas looked up at the forest above. "I can't help as I am, the path I wish to take requires far more strength then I have. I wish you luck Beta, Don't lose hope." With that Dylas left the forest the same way he came, while Beta and WereGarurumon started working on how to find where they needed to go.
