Things were not all too great between Kaya and Hawkeye at the moment. It started when Kaya was packing up for a three-day trip to Kyoto that her class was going on. Hawkeye sat on the edge of her bed while Kaya herself excitedly packed her bag for the trip. It was clear that she was extremely excited to go to Kyoto, as evident by the giant smile on her face. However, that joy would be diminished a bit when Kaya said to Hawkeye, "You're alright that I wanna go by myself, right? It's nothing personal, I just want a Digimon-free trip." "Of course I don't mind," Hawkeye responded. He'd be lying if he said that Kaya's decision didn't personally hurt him, but he trusted his partner enough to go on a trip by herself if she wants to. "I suppose three days here to myself wouldn't be all that bad, either." "Didn't I tell you? I made arrangements to have you stay at Shi's place." Now THIS was news to Hawkeye. He hopped off the bed and started walking towards Kaya. "What for? I'm a responsible adult Digimon, I can handle not being seen by your family for a few days." "Yeah, I know that, but I'd rather not be worrying about it while I'm in Kyoto. You won't have me to bail you out if Mom catches you, so-" "This is ludicrous." Kaya paused momentarily, turning to look at her now visibly angry partner. "What was that?" "I trust you enough to go on a trip by yourself, the least you can do is trust me to be on my own during your stay." "You don't know what my family is like, Hawkeye, they go searching through my room while I'm at school. You can't be here when they decide to do that." "That's another thing; I have been living in secret for three years now. When are you going to tell your family that I exist so that I may stop living in the shadows and eating the table scraps from dinner?" This whole time Hawkeye had spoken with a stern and frustrated but relatively calm voice. Kaya was not. "I'm working on it, I swear! I just gotta find a way to ease them into it!" "You can't keep me from them forever if you want me to remain living here." "Well then maybe I don't want you living here then! You being here causes nothing but problems for me with my family anyways!" Hawkeye stared at Kaya with a stunned silence... he did not just hear her say that to him, did he? No... no, what he heard was exactly what was said. The Hawkmon had never felt so hurt before in his life. Kaya's eyes widened once she realized it too. "H-Hawkeye, I didn't mean-" "Just finish packing for your trip," Hawkeye coldly said as he walked into Kaya's walk-in closet, a feeling of tension residing in the air. It wasn't long before another person opened up the door: Kaya's mother.
"Kaya, are you alright? I thought I heard you yelling up here."
"No, I wasn't yelling up here, Mom," Kaya said, trying to put on the best innocent-looking face she could. "Just... excited to go to Kyoto, is all! Heheh..." While Kaya feigned excitement on the outside, on the inside she was absolutely miserable about what she had done...
Meanwhile, from outside, a mysterious and sinister presence peered into the window from afar... his plan was beginning be set in motion.
"And that is essentially what happened," Hawkeye said to Shi as they prepared the guest room bed, explaining the situation he was in to the teen that likely didn't care. "We hadn't talked to each other since, not even on the way here. That's why I've been more quiet than I usually am today."
The stay wasn't all bad, so far. He enjoyed conversing with Shi and his family enough, even if Yuudai and Yasuo were absent due to reasons that Shi would likely have explained to Hawkeye by this point. Even dinner was an enjoyable time, as Hawkeye had longed to be able to eat at the dinner table with a family instead of eating whatever was left over up in Kaya's room, and he even got to watch what he wanted to on TV afterwards. But still, that final confrontation with Kaya replayed in his mind many times.
"I appreciate you and your family agreeing to let me stay here while Kaya's in Kyoto," Hawkeye said to Shi as he hopped onto the now made bed. "But what Kaya said to me was so hurtful... I am unsure if our relationship can be salvaged, and I definitely cannot stay with her even when she comes back home. I am at a loss for what to do..."

"Hey, Heads up. Apparently, Kaya's partner is gonna be laying low around here for a bit." Shi called lazily from his place on the couch as he flipped his phone down and tossed it into his pants pocket, it was a bit out of the blue if he was honest but upon checking some of the events going on around school it made sense, can't really bring a Holo-suited stranger on a field trip and it would be pretty rude to expect them to hide in digimon form the whole time around there, still something felt a bit off to Shi about this. He didn't know much about Hawkeye if he was honest, which was the exact point making him come over here felt a bit forced.
"She still hasn't told her parents? Well I guess that makes sense I mean you took a while to tell us as well but still." Shi's dad questioned from the kitchen looking back over to his son, who just shrugged in response not sure how to respond to that if he was honest.
"She's what, 13, 14? It's to be expected. You remember what you were like as a teen. Always trying to hide stuff cause you felt like it was easier. Poor girl's probably scared outta her wits if they find out." His mom added not looking up from her laptop as she voiced her concerns. They had a point even Shi was a bit wary of revealing them. For all he knew her parents would be nothing like how his reacted. "Still guest rooms open now so he can stay there. It's still ready for when those two eventually come back." Not even saying if, yeah Shi could probably tell where he got most of his assurance in himself from, sitting right across from him.
"Well regardless he's not coming till later so, plenty of time for a nap." Throwing his arms over his head Shi just laid down for a while, after all it wouldn't be anything too stressful to deal with right? Just a normal day of chilling and talking.
Oh god the day was anything except chilling and talking, Hawkeye had told his whole story about what happened a bit before he came here. Shi didn't know Kaya had it in her to be that mean, always seemed so nice when he talked to her. Thinking for a moment on what to say Shi eventually just said. "That's rough buddy." in his usual tone, I mean what else could he really say to that? Not much came to mind.
Shi had casually dropped the fact that Yuudai and Yasuo were gone, he didn't mention the SnowAgumon that promised to help him or Daichi finding out about digimon cause Hawkeye didn't know those people anyway so mentioning it would've just been a pain in the writer's arse.
"Feel free to stay as long as you need to, We don't use that room for much since those kids went missing anyway. Best to just stay safe till you feel better, human or not any friend of my Son is a friend of ours." Those kids likely meant Yuudai and Yasuo, still Shi's mom did seem quite ready to assist, despite having the same cold tone as her son. just like their kid the got used to fantastical digial monsters' way too fast.
"Yeah what mom said, I'm sure you two can patch it up. In the meantime, just try and relax and forget about it for a moment. I know it's hard to tell with me but I do genuinely hope you two can work through this. Seemed happy together when I saw you two before be a shame to see that go." Shi did think Kaya was being unreasonable to a degree but mostly for now Shi figured just using these few days to relax would serve Hawkeye far better then trying to discuss it, especially cause this is Shi we're talking about so ya.

Hawkeye sighed a bit when Shi gave his response to the Hawkmon's story. Of course Hawkeye knew Shi well enough to not really expecting anything more from him than that, but he was still hoping to at least be surprised. He had hoped that Yuudai and Yasuo would be around to speak to, but no, life had to slap everyone in the face in that regard as well. Apparently they fused together and took off, leaving Shi all on his own. Even at his angriest, Hawkeye could never think to just abandon Kaya like that. This "Yuya" was getting a stern talking to if Hawkeye ever got his wings on them. Shi's mother came in to tell Hawkeye that he was allowed to stay for as long as he needed to. Hawkeye smiled towards Shi's mother and gave a polite bow. "I appreciate your generosity, Mrs. Namika. I promise it will not be for long, and I will do my best to be a decent house guest in your home." And once she left, Shi suggested that Hawkeye should just relax and forget about the horrible situation he was in. "Hm... yeah, you're right, Shi. Perhaps things will be better once Kaya comes home after we both have cooled down." He then mentioned that the two of them seemed happy together, and he'd hate to see something like that go. Hawkeye looked at Shi for a bit for a small smirk formed on his beak. "That's... probably the most emotional I've ever seen you get, Shi. I'm impressed." And with that, it was now time for Hawkeye's usual bedtime routine. He grabbed his toothpaste and special toothbrush he brought from home and headed to the bathroom. Maybe Shi was right... perhaps a good night's sleep will make all the difference for Hawkeye.
It was the middle of the night when the presence from before made his move. Everyone in the Namika house was sleeping peacefully in their bedrooms, including Hawkeye in the guest room as he was bundled up underneath all the blankets. This presence phased through the guest room window, hovering above Hawkeye's bed with a dark look in his eye. He appeared to be a blonde elf red eyes, wearing a pirate hat with a big red feather and a bandana around his mouth... a Petermon. He quietly spoke:
"The mistress shall soon be mine." Petermon then placed his fingers by his mouth and let out a low whistle. Before anyone had known it, the Hawkmon's memories had been altered while he was asleep. Petermon then moved over to each individual member of the house and did the same thing to them, removing any mention that Hawkeye and Kaya were partners, that Hawkeye was simply a stray Digimon acquaintance of Kaya's that was staying with the Namika's due to Kaya's request. But then he got to Shi's room. He was about to do the exact same thing to Shi's memories, up until he saw Shi's sleeping face up close. He had already altered the memories of everyone else in the house so Petermon was running low on energy, plus he had to fly to Kyoto afterwards. "You wouldn't care, would you?" Petermon quietly said again before phasing through Shi's window, taking off for Kyoto.
Hawkeye's eyes slowly opened once the sunlight started pouring into the guest room. He let out a big yawn as he pulled himself out of the covers. Shi was right... a good night's sleep really was all that Hawkeye needed. He couldn't even remember why he was so upset last night. It was a nice and sunny day outside, and Hawkeye was determined to make this day better than his last two days were. The Hawkmon hopped out of bed and made his way towards the Namika's kitchen. "Good morning," he would say to whoever was there at the time. "I don't understand why Yuudai and Yasuo prefer to sleep in the closet like that, the guest room was heavenly to sleep in... what's for breakfast, may I ask?"

Yeah Shi probably didn't say the correct thing judging by that small sigh he heard from Hawkeye but it was the best that Shi could do for now, he never was the best at helping with situations like this and the two that usually were just weren't here at the moment. But still Shi at least seemed to get something nice out with Hawkeye mentioning Shi being the most emotional he had scene.
"I'm not heartless, That's just the truth on how I feel. Besides even I can put a bit more effort in when it's needed." And needed it probably was at this point, with that done Shi went about the rest of his usual night staying up for a bit longer before going to bed.
While getting ready Shi muttered outloud for a moment. "Goodnight Ya-" Pausing for a moment Shi let out a small sigh as he tossed his hat on his table. "Right yeah, forgot about that for a moment. Don't worry I'm coming you two, just a few more days." Moving his left arm around it was feeling a lot better than before, the cut on his head had already fully healed and thankfully didn't leave a scar like before. With that Shi hopped into bed and closed his eyes, drifting away.
Morning felt like it came way too fast, Shi opened his eyes throwing his blanket off him and standing up, checking his phone it was still really early in the morning like usual when he woke up. Shi went about his usual buisness, getting dressed and making his bed before stepping out into the rest of the house, his mom was already up with a cup of coffee for herself and one for Shi across from her. "Guess I got up faster this time." she slightly joked as Shi took his seat.
"Nah I got up earlier, I just didn't want to hafta make the coffee." He fired back as the two sat there for a few moments, after which Hawkeye came in mentioning the guest room being heavenly. "They slept in there for quite a long time, they say it's to protect me while I'm asleep but."
"Considering they rarely get up in the morning that probably doesn't happen." His mom finished to which Shi just nodded, that was what it boiled down to after all. Shi blamed their constant sparring and training for that.
"Usually Dad makes something when he and Mirai get up, but if you want to help yourself to something before then feel free." It probably wasn't a good idea to rely on someone who gets up a few hours after you for your food but hey, he was better at cooking then Shi was. "Feeling better? You were pretty upset at Kaya last night?" That was probably the nice thing to ask, glancing over at his mom she nodded in approval. The fact that he didn't know these things instantly was probably a bit bad.

It was a cool morning when Hawkeye woke up, which summers didn't usually tend to be in Japan. But Hawkeye did suppose that it was because he had woken up fairly early thanks to his sleep schedule. He didn't know why he woke up so early in the morning when, really, he had no reason to. He just decided that it was because of his internal clock and left it at that, as pondering it was growing quite tiresome.
Hawkeye would come downstairs to the kitchen area where he'd see Shi and Shi's mom, both with cups of coffee in their hands. He chuckled a bit when they explained the reason why Yuudai and Yasuo never slept in the guest room, before focusing his attention towards the coffee. "Would it be alright if I had a cup for myself?" Hawkeye asked. He was a guest, so he didn't want to just take things without permission. Once he did, he effectively poured some coffee into a mug along with way too much sugar with it. This was Hawkeye, after all; he liked his coffee sweet.
Shi explained that it was his dad that made breakfast for everyone in the morning when Hawkeye sat at the table with him and his mother, saying he was able to make himself something in the meantime. "I appreciate it, but I would rather not spoil my appetite," Hawkeye said as he took a sip of his cavity-inducing coffee. He was hungry, but he had a will of steel, or so he liked to believe he did; he could wait for breakfast no problem.
Then Shi asked if Hawkeye was alright, mentioning that the Hawkmon was angry at a "Kaya" last night. "Er... yes, I believe I am alright. I don't know why I would be angry, in all honesty. I do have one question though." What Hawkeye would say next would surely be enough for Shi to realize that something was very, very wrong...

Shi shrugged letting the coffee fall where it may, there was definitely enough. Though both of the stone-faced individuals seemed to slightly wince in the amount of sugar the Hawkmon was putting into his coffee, both of them seemed to be in the completely opposite end of the coffee spectrum compared to the digimon in question.
Not wanting to spoil his appetite he decided to wait on Shi's dad to arrive, though he seemed to be confused at Shi's question which was odd, it wasn't that confusing of a question was it. "Well I didn't say angry just a little bit ups-" Then that last part hit Shi for a moment. "Uhh, Your partner? One fight and you wake up like this. That's cold man." He wasn't going to tell her but even still that was a bit messed up as a joke if he was honest. Though glancing over at his mom she seemed to have the same confused look.
"Hawkeye is her partner? I thought that one peter pan looking digimon was her partner? Though I guess you have two so it makes sense." This caused Shi to pause for a moment glancing over at the confused looks of both parties before slowly getting up and walking off towards his room without saying a word to anyone.
Leaving his door open Shi would start rummaging around his room for a moment before coming back towards the table, a notebook in hand and thumbing through page after page before sitting back down and throwing the notebook on the table for all to see. "I have no idea what on earth you two are talking about, look I write down all the tamers I meet and draw their partners. Just check this page out." Sure enough on one page it said Kaya and the other it said Zack, the picture under Zack's was a Fanbeemon and Stingmon while Kaya's had a drawn picture of Hawkmon with the name Hawkeye on top, crossed out to the left were the names Clint and Hawkman.
"Dunno why you two are trying to get me to second guess myself but there you go." Shi hated pranks like this, he really didn't expect his own mother to try and pull one over on him like this.

Hawkeye was very confused at this point. As far as he could recall, he never had a partner... or rather, he hadn't had one ever since Eizo had passed away. This "Kaya" must be that human that first brought him here, along with the Petermon she was with... why did Shi think that they were partners? Even Shi's mother was kind of confused by what her son was saying. "Shi, I do not have a partner anymore. Didn't I tell you about Eizo? Besides, this 'Kaya' had a Petermon with her when she dropped me off."
Shi simply gave a few confused glances at both his mother and at Hawkeye before he wordlessly got up and walked away. Hawkeye would look back at Mrs. Namika, clearly very confused. "Is he alright? I don't believe I've seen Shi act like this before." He should know that Petermon was Kaya's partner, shouldn't he? Why was he acting like something was wrong?
It didn't take long before he came back down the stairs with his journal, flipping open the pages and showing Hawkeye a drawing of himself with Kaya's name above it, mentioning that he writes down all the Tamers he meets and draws their partners. Hawkeye raised an eyebrow as he observed the notebook... something clearly wasn't adding up, and Hawkeye was looking a bit freaked out. "...Shi, I do not know how this happened, but I assure you, my partner passed away a long time ago. I do not even know Kaya well outside of when she and Petermon found me on the street. You can talk to her yourself and she'll tell you the exact same thing."
If Shi were to dial Kaya's number, the phone would ring a couple of times before a familiar voice could be heard on the other end. "Hey, Shi! Is everything alright? I hope that Hawkmon we dropped on you guys isn't being too troublesome; Petermon and I found him on the street the night before my school trip, so I didn't really know what to do."

Oh they weren't trying to pull one over on him, looking at both their confused faces. This was really not something Shi wanted to deal with right about now. Leaning in his chair Shi pulled out his phone and called Kaya, waiting for a few moments eventually he heard her and what she said which was just more alarming. "Yeah he's fine, sorry I hit the wrong number meant to call someone else. One question though, why didn't you just use the digi-port to send him home." Shi mentioned letting her go unless she had anything else to add.
"Alright so the question is did my memories change or did everyone elses change? This is quite the dilemma." Shi asked leaning back in his chair for a moment trying to figure out what was going on, then he recalled someone Hawkeye mentioned. "No, you've never mentioned an Eizo to me before. Hawkeye tell me, what are you doing in the human world then and why would Kaya bring you here instead of back to the digital world, she and I have digi-ports after all could've easily done it last night." Shi asked posing the same question to him, there had to be some discrepancy here that he could point out.
"Shi, if you're messing with us this is a messed up thing to do, though if you're not." Shi's mom looked him dead in the eyes for a moment, his Grey eyes matched hers as he simply said.
"I'm not, you have my word on that." Shi said pulling is notebook closer. "Besides like I said I draw all the digimon I've ever seen, I think Kaya does as well... We can see once she gets back." That was one way of checking after all.
"Alright, once your father and Mirai wake up we can check with them as well. I don't know what happened Shi but we're going to get to the bottom of this I assure you." She didn't seem to 100% believe him, after all her memories said completely otherwise but she was willing to help and assist her son find the truth, she trusted him for that at least.

"The digi-port?" Kaya asked over the phone. "He said he was interested in living in the human world, so I thought letting him stay with someone for a few days would help him get a good impression of Shibuya. Petermon thought so too, but I guess we should've given you more warning first. Oh, here's Petermon now, he wants to say hi. Hold on a sec..." The sound on the other end would then shuffle a bit before an unfamiliar voice would be heard.
"Hello, Shi... long time no see. I was surprised to see that you had called the mistress during her school trip. I hope everything's going fine down there with that sad, lonely Hawkmon, hm? Don't you worry about a thing... the mistress will be just fine, as long as no one gets in the way."
Okay, that was DEFINITELY a threat of some kind directed towards Shi, no doubt about it. But would Shi be able to keep his poker face when he knows that there is someone out there messing with their memories?
It would be quite a task convincing Hawkeye himself, as well as the other members of Shi's family. Shi mentioned that Hawkeye didn't actually tell him anything about Eizo. "It's not something I particularly enjoy discussing. Eizo was my best human friend when I was younger, as he was the only one to treat me with respect while the other Digimon in the Village of Beginnings berated me for having corrupted data. He... died, a long time ago. I'd prefer not to say why, since it was a very grotesque way to go."
Both Hawkeye and Shi's mother were starting to get annoyed with Shi messing with them, insisting that Hawkeye was actually Kaya's partner. "I have no memories of this girl at all... yet here I am in your notebook, with her name above my drawing... but that Petermon was her partner, I saw her Digivolve him myself..."
But did he? Maybe if there was just a bit more solid proof of what Shi was saying was correct, then something could happen...

Well this was Petermon it seemed, calling Kaya mistress in a pretty creepy fashion considering how Shi's memories were working. Talking about the sad lonely Hawkmon and no one getting in the way, Shi chuckled for a moment before simply stating. "Might be hard, after all tamers are well known for getting in the way of things after all." Shi wasn't buckling to any threat it seems, partners or no he wasn't going down. With that Shi hung up the phone instantly before he started calling someone else.
"Shi? Dude it's like 6 in the morning or something, what do you want?" A voice answered after a few moments of ringing, sounding super tired.
"Daichi I need you to come over here, there's a certain problem I'm having with a digimon and could use your assistance." Shi asked and hearing a few curse words over the phone eventually he heard a sure and then hung up. "Alright, that call just proved to me that whoever that Petermon is, they're a threat. I just called a friend of mine who could help." Hearing right after about Eizo though hit a bit different, a human dying was definitely not something you get used to in this line of work. "You've my condolences, I am sorry that happened truly."
"Alright, if you think there's a digimon threat then I'll help too. What can I do?" Hearing that her son just got threatened apparently turned off all of her memory instincts and instantly switched over to her motherly protective ones, that was quite the sudden shift.
"There's a SnowAgumon waiting for me in Terminus named Yuki, take my digivice use the port function and go get her, I'll see if I can find anything that can help prove my point." Shi tossed his digivice over to her before looking over at Hawkeye. "Ok, so... Wait, you saw her digivolve him? We're in the human world, why would she need to do that?" That part didn't make sense, there was also another thing that Shi should mention. "Alright, Hawkeye do you know who my partners are? If so what happened to them and who told you." There had to be something that Shi could point out while stuff started moving.

"Get in the way between me and my mistress, and the people you love will pay. I'm not letting this golden opportunity slip through my fingers... mark my words, Shi Namika." And with that, the phone hung up... very sinister indeed.
Shi then called someone else on the phone, a friend of his who Shi said could help. Apparently that call with Petermon was enough to determine the Digimon to be a threat. "A threat...?" Hawkeye asked. He had the feeling that he should care immensely about this, but he just... did not. He had no stake in this, did he? Then again, he thought back to the drawings in Shi's notebook... nothing was adding up! Why was he in there with that Kaya girl?!
Mrs. Namika even stepped up to help, being instructed by Shi to go to Terminus to pick up a SnowAgumon named Yuki. After he gave her his Digivice, Shi asked why Kaya would need to digivolve Petermon if they were in the human world. He tried to think back on the event, but all he could recall was... well, nothing. In fact... a lot of memories he had were messy at best. Shi also asked if Hawkeye knew who his partners were, and what happened to them. "Of course. Yuudai and Yasuo. You told me yesterday that they went... missing..."
Wait, how DID Hawkeye know them, now that he thought about it? Suddenly, Hawkeye's eyes widen as he starts to groan, holding his now severely aching head. He could see visions of himself and Hawkeye... but now of a new person included in the mix: a Petermon. "My head... my head feels like it is going to explode!"

"Eh, needs some work. 4/10 I don't feel even remotely threatened, plus loses a few points due to the huge creep factor." Shi muttered to himself at that whole sinister exchange, if he was really hoping to trick Shi he was doing a terrible job of it at the start and didn't even try to haggle with him on memories! Probably wasn't too big of a threat but better safe then sorry after all.
"Yup, well not really if things get too bad I can just call some friends to lend a hand, don't wanna do that until I know I can't handle it though." Shi wasn't the type to call for help unless he knew he needed it, at least needed more help then he was currently asking for which was already a lot.
His mom managed to figure out how to work out the portal and quickly went on her way, shouldn't be too long till she's back and as she did Shi's dad came out from his room yawning a bit. "Morning, what's going on?" There was more commotion then before, it wasn't usually like this in the morning.
"Mom went to the digital world to grab something for me, also your memories of Hawkeye and Kaya are fake. Any Petermon you remember is in fact a jerk." Shi said bluntly as his father stared at him for a few moments before shrugging.
"Alright if you say so, if you're gonna deal with a jerk you're gonna need some breakfast." With a yawn he walked passed his son, way too cool with the information bomb that was just dropped on him, which was par for the course with his father if Shi was honest.
Alright seems like Shi was getting through, considering what was going on this just furthered Shi's idea that he was correct. "I'm sorry but, please just hold out a bit longer I have one more question. Do I seem the type to tell a complete stranger to me about my partners or seem willing to take in a random digimon without some sort of protection." Hawkeye should know how Shi normally operates, even just considering what Hawkeye had just seen him act when just the idea of a threat over the phone was given?

Hawkeye was at a loss for words when Shi's father seemed completely indifferent to being told that his memories were all lies. Then again, this was Shi's father after all, so maybe something like this ran in the family. Still though, Hawkeye didn't share these same feelings of indifference. Meanwhile, Hawkeye himself was dealing with the mother of all headaches. It felt like his memories, his thoughts, his feelings, everything was just getting scrambled and combined, and his poor little head couldn't take any of it. Why was nothing adding up?! Did something happen to him while he was asleep?! Shi said he needed to ask one more question, to which Hawkeye used as much strength as possible to ignore the headache and look at the human in the eye. Do I seem the type to tell a complete stranger to me about my partners? Or seem willing to take in a random Digimon without some sort of protection? "No... no, you do not!" Hawkeye yelled out loud. Suddenly it felt like Hawkeye's life was flashing in front of his eyes. The moment he met Kaya, and when he went to the human world to find her, to all the trials and tribulations they've gone through together and how their bond had only strengthened with time. The very last thing Hawkeye remembered where a couple very, very chilling words, which the Hawkmon couldn't help but repeat out loud.
"The mistress... shall soon be mine." Hawkeye's headache was gone, and the avian Digimon could now think clearly again. He looked up at Shi with a fearful look in his eyes. "Shi, I remember everything! Kaya's in grave danger! I know who did this to us: a Digimon named Petermon. He can alter one's memories and control the minds of sleeping children. I have to get to Kyoto and be there for Kaya!"

Finally, Shi's dismissive behavior and general lack of trust toward anyone and anything finally paid off in this one exact situation. His mom owed him 20 bucks. But making bets with your parents aside it would seem that the final question he asked triggered something in Hawkeye to force the memories out, judging by the new fearful look in his eyes Shi was pretty sure he remembered exactly the danger that this situation was. "So I was right, Petermon, Mistress. Suppose that's Kaya then." Some stuff wasn't too clear to him yet but if Shi had to hazard a guess. "Considering he replaced you, must be trying to make Kaya his tamer for whatever reason."
With the going to Kyoto Shi nodded with his arms crossed. "Right but, you're not going alone, I'm going too. While I don't exactly know where me and Kaya stand I'd be kicking myself if I let anything bad happen to her while I could do something about it." Though if this Petermon was a threat Shi wouldn't be much help, thankfully as Shi mentioned that a Digi-port opened up and out came a SnowAgumon and his mom, right on time.
"Shi! Are we going to look for your partners now? Oh, who's this?" she asked glancing over at Hawkeye, it was probably pretty weird that a Digimon was here now.
"Hawkeye, Yuki. Visa Versa. We need to head to Kyoto and help his partner out. Figured It'd be best if we went with some added protection." It was nice to probably have.
"Oh no! Hope they're ok, actually wait come here a moment please." The SnowAgumon would ask Hawkeye, if not she'd simply walk over to him for a moment before holding her claw up, muttering something under her breath as a small sigil would appear on the back of Hawkeyes right wing. "If you're going somewhere busy this'll help, is a magic sigil. So long as it's on you people who don't know about digimon won't acknowledge you. So you can walk around without having everyone weirdly scream at you!" Well seems she didn't know why humans tended to scream at digimon, Shi would have to explain that to her.
"Shi that place is really weird, some giant city. Saw a human looking thing that was on fire, made of fire? I don't know but long story short when you get back I want a tour." Well that was another thing Shi would have to deal with.
"Alright seems like we're set, don't worry Hawkeye we'll protect Kaya, you have my word on that." Shi might not have his partners but he wasn't about to sit on the sidelines so easily.

"I don't understand..." Hawkeye said, pacing back and forth once he figured out just what exactly was going on. "Petermon's usually gravitate towards children. Kaya herself is almost fifteen, why would he have any interest in her? This can't be just to spite me, considering he referred to Kaya as 'mistress.' This whole situation is hurting my head even more than it already should."
Hawkeye was surprised that Shi was so willing to go to Kyoto with Hawkeye, but the Hawkmon was appreciative about it either way. He smiled up at the human before a Digi-Port opened, walking out of it being Shi's mother and a SnowAgumon that Hawkeye was unfamiliar with. But considering Shi had asked his mother to retrieve a SnowAgumon he knew, naturally Hawkeye figured that this was them. He simply gave a peace sign towards the SnowAgumon as Shi took the liberty of introducing them to each other.
Shi also explained to Yuki about why they needed to go to Kyoto. But before they left, Yuki asked to see Hawkeye up close for one moment. Raising an eyebrow, Hawkeye obliged and walked over to the SnowAgumon, who then held her claw towards the Hawkmon and began muttering... something. Hawkeye was unsure what was going on, until he noticed something glowing on the back of his right wing. It looked like... some kind of sigil? Yuki explained that as long as Hawkeye had this sigil, humans who didn't know about Digimon wouldn't realize that he was a three-and-a-half-foot tall walking talking bird. "A magic spell... a very useful one, at that!"
Well, it seems like Shi's mother had her own adventure just trying to get Yuki. But that would have to wait, as more pressing matters were at hand. "The train will be too slow. Surely this Petermon knows we will be coming by this point... Yuki, do you have flight capabilities?" It was obvious that Hawkeye was beyond worried by this point...
