"Maybe he's just a creepy weirdo? I mean from what I've seen of your kind there's a buncha different personalities. I'm sure creep is at least among them." Shi's dad chimed in from the kitchen, Shi thought about it for a moment and gave a small shrug.
"Could be right, in any case anyone who calls a fourteen-year-old girl mistress is definitely not someone I want around a fourteen-year-old girl that's for sure, we can worry about the why's later, once we have him cornered." Shi didn't really care at this moment, right now he had one objective and that was enough to focus on for now. As his mother came in just in time to hear that end part.
"So you're going to go fight again huh?" Despite her tone being similar to Shi's, she did seem a bit saddened on hearing that fact. Shi glanced over as she handed his digivice back to him.
"You know me mom, I won't sit and wait around forever. Someone needs help I gotta go. It's just who I am." Shi gave a small shrug with a rare smile that was usually never seen.
"Just promise me you won't get hurt ok? Fight all you want just please take care of yourself." That was a promise Shi couldn't guarantee he would be able to keep but even still he nodded.
"Don't worry, I've got plenty of support. I'll come back safe and sound. I promise." Though he wasn't just talking about this, he'd probably go hunting for Yuudai and Yasuo after this. It seemed to just be a silent agreement between the two and just like that Shi was given a free pass to go around.
"Yup! It was designed by my father. It's how we keep our village hidden so well. Just know that it won't work if you try fighting so don't launch any attacks while in public. The Sigil doesn't mesh well with attacks." That was a good warning to give after all, sadly sneak attacks were out of the question because of that but even still it was better then nothing. "Yup I can, with a little help from Shi I can reach Champion level. He seems to have a weird affinity for Agumon's." Shi in the background just shrugged, it just seemed to be a thing he could help with.
However as they were talking there was a knock at the door a few moments before the door opened and someone the same age as Shi walked in. "Alright I'm here Shi, what's the digimon emergency?" Walking in he saw the whole group before pointing at Hawkeye. "Is the little dude the emergency or?"
"No, the one I was talking about is in Kyoto. Magnamon can fly right?" Shi asked as if it was the most normal thing to ask someone.
"Kyoto? Well there go the day plans. Yeah he can, you can fill me in on the way. Ugh he's way too excited for this... Also they can't hear you." Well Daichi seemed to be arguing with this spirit but hey, they had their rides all planned out it would seem.
Shi would quickly collect some items, his and his sisters drawing notebooks and his journal, hopefully these would be proof enough for Kaya. "Alright, lets get moving. The faster the better." With that the group would be on their way unless Hawkeye wanted to do something else real quick, though since this scene is so long if that's not the case the other can just write where they go since he probably knows!

"Creep or not, he is still attempting to separate myself from Kaya, and making himself her 'partner' in exchange," Hawkeye said, visibly disgusted that someone would even attempt to do that. "Like Shi stated, we'll get the answers we need once Petermon has been cornered."
Hawkeye had to admit... watching Shi's mother reacting to her son going off on a dangerous Digimon adventure was a bit hard to watch. The Hawkmon thought back to his own adventures with Kaya: Arukenimon, the ExD Flymon, the Bio-Hybrids... what if Kaya's family knew that she was doing all these things? Hawkeye started to wonder if it wasn't exactly Hawkeye that Kaya was scared of telling her parents... it was what she was doing with Hawkeye that scared her.
If that's the case, then I put so much unnecessary pressure on her... Hawkeye started to get lost in his own thoughts for a moment. I must've pushed her too far for my own selfish reasons. I never even considered how she must've felt about the whole thing... ugh, it is no wonder she reacted the way she did. I've been a horrible partner.
Hawkeye was snapped back to reality when talking to Yuki. She explained that the sigil was designed by her father in order to hide her village. She also explained that launching any attacks in public will break the spell. "That's useful information to know, although I doubt that there won't be at least a little bit of fighting."
Coincidentally, not only did Yuki have the capability of flight in her Champion form, but a friend of Shi's showed up who happened to be a Spirit User. "Er... greetings," Hawkeye said, just trying to be polite to the newcomer despite the urgency of their situation. "Now, we must be off! To Kyoto!"
Hawkeye would be the first one out the door, immediately flying high up into the air. He knew where Kyoto was, as he made it a point to memorize the layout of Tokyo, as well as memorizing directions to Kyoto in case Hawkeye had to get to Kaya for a reason such as this. Of course he wouldn't be as fast of a flyer as the literal champion levels, but he'd still be flying relatively fast.

"Yeah sounds like a creep to me, beat his butt Hawkeye, Shi." This was a rare time that Shi's father encouraged him to take the more violent route, maybe it had something to do with the fact that he just woke up. "Also like your mom said Shi, don't over-extend yourself. I don't want to see you in the hospital again do I make myself clear." Well there went that sleepy idea, he was fully awake and ready to tell Shi off.
"You two worry too much, I'll be fine. I'll be back before you know it I promise." Shi seemed to really not want them to worry about him, which tracked given his general attitude towards everything. Though he noticed Hawkeye getting lost in his own thoughts for a moment before getting snapped out of it by Yuki who hadn't noticed and was just excited in general to be sharing something like that. But she seemed a bit downcast at the idea of a little bit of fighting.
"I suppose so huh, alright deep breaths Yuki. Someone needs help, swallow your fear you can do this." She seemed to need a moment to hype herself up for the moment, her slightly skittish nature shining through at the prospect of actual combat.
However, she was brought out of it by Shi patting her on the head. "You'll be fine Yuki, me and Daichi will be with you, Hawkeye too. I promise while I'm around I won't let anything bad happen to you." That seemed to calm her down a bit, it also seemed to light up Shi's digivice slightly with an icy cold glow.
"Heh, that's right. You can count on me and Vee, we won't let ya down." Well the newcomer was optimistic it seems, definitely a contrast compared to Shi. One would even question why they were friends to be honest. "Yo, no time for pleasantries though. Let's get moving." as Daichi pulled out his D-tector he was grabbed by Yuki for a moment. "Oh right, Sigil almost forgot. That would've been real bad." With the mark placed on him Daichi stepped outside.
"Alright, lets do this." Daichi held his hand forward letting data swirl around it for a moment before slashing it against his Digivice. "Execute, Spirit Evolution." Daichi would be engulfed in a ray of light as he was quickly replaced by a tall metal clad digimon, Magnamon X. "Race you there Yuki!" With that he would fly off towards the direction Hawkeye left.
"Alright, lets not get left behind. Yuki lets go." Shi held out his digivice for a moment, the usual orange and blue color scheme quickly became replaced with a cold light blue. "Yuki, Digivolve." with a small glow of light Yuki quickly transformed from their regular Agumon state into a Paledramon standing in front of Shi. As he was about to get on her back though suddenly, he felt something get tossed at him, his hat and his jacket thrown lovingly by his mother and father. "Thanks you two, I'll be back soon." With that Shi threw his jacket on and adjusted his hat as Yuki quickly flew off catching up to the other two decently fast with the tamer in tow.

Hospital?!
This was the first time Hawkeye had heard that Shi ended up in the hospital, presumably due to Digimon activities. Sure, Kaya had gone to the hospital before, but that was mainly for shots and check-ups, and never for anything serious. The Hawkmon had that to consider now, as well... what IF Kaya got horribly injured one day? How would she explain that to her parents? Hawkeye was beginning to understand Kaya's fears more and more, it seemed.
Hawkeye had to raise an eyebrow when Yuki tried to prep herself up for combat. Was she... afraid of fighting? Sure, it would make sense, but Digimon had fighting spirit in their own data, so to see an Agumon variant like Yuki be so unsure about fighting like this was perplexing to the bird Digimon. Though Shi seemed to encourage her by stating that she wouldn't be alone in the slightest, which seemed to calm Yuki down enough.
"It seems that you do indeed have some sway with Agumons in general, Shi," Hawkeye commented with a grin.
Once Hawkeye had taken to the skies, it didn't take long for Shi, Yuki and Daichi to catch up to him, with Daichi now in a Magnamon-X form while Shi was riding on a Paledramon. Kaya, if I can get you to remember me, then I promise I'll stay hidden as long as you want me to... just as long as I don't lose you, as well! Despite being fast Digimon, it would take some time before the group ended up in Kyoto. The difference between it and Tokyo was almost as plain as day, thanks to Kyoto's more traditional Japanese atmosphere compared to the ultra modern Tokyo. "This city is much bigger than I thought it would be... trying to find Kaya in this area would be like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Thankfully, we know she must have a Digimon with her."
That was right; Kyoto had very little in the way of Digimon activity, so it should be relatively easy to get a trail of the Petermon's digital signature if they look around hard enough. "I say we split up; we'll cover more areas of the city that way if we do, and we'll be likely to find them faster."
Though there wouldn't be a way to communicate with each other if one of the groups DID find Kaya and Petermon...

Shi didn't have much to say before the ride to there, the comment on Shi having some pull with Agumon species was also just met with a shrug, probably had something to do with the fact that he had two, technically now three Agumon on his side. Instead, Shi just relayed what they were doing over to Daichi on the ride there. "So like, they can alter memories? Sheesh just when I though magic was enough. Why weren't you affected though?" Daichi asked glancing over at the teen.
"Maybe they didn't think Shi would be much of a threat, without Yuudai and Yasuo there isn't much he can do to a digimon. No offense Shi." Yuki quickly added that last part realizing how bad it sounded, apologizing under her breath right after seemingly a bit worried.
"None taken, without them I am just a normal human. However this normal human is going to show him why he shouldn't underestimate me." Seems Shi was pretty on board with this whole taking care of Petermon thing, and after what he told Daichi and Yuki they seemed pretty set on stopping this Peter pan looking nerd. They just needed to get there first.
And get there they did through the power of transitions, landing down Shi hopped off Yuki as she degenerated back down to her SnowAgumon form and Daichi accidentally went back to human form a bit off the ground and landed stumbling for a second but was caught by Shi. "Heh, thanks man. Still getting used to this whole spirit thing." Patting him on the back Daichi stood up straight looking around the area.
"Yeah, so long as Petermon is with her we should be able to locate them." There might be a few Holo-suited digimon or something around here but even still that at least narrowed it dow.
"Right yeah, splitting up might help. Oh me and Shi can call each other if one of us finds them too! Oh but, wait you guys don't have phones do you." That made some problems huh.
"Could split up into teams of two, one human and one digimon. If we find them, we can call the others and get them to head on over." The only problem would be how to separate the teams, though Hawkeye could throw in his two cents on how to do that.
"Also uhh, this might be a bad time to mention this but, I don't know what Kaya looks like." Oh right, they had never met Kaya before.
"Uhh yeah same, I was gonna ask on the way here but figured what was going on was more important." Well that caused some small problems indeed!

"Petermon must have broken into the house while all of us were sleeping," Hawkeye suggested as the group flew to Tokyo. "And there's no possible reason why they wouldn't have gone for everyone else we know as well, such as Adrian and Shoutmon, Weston, Yuji and Kazuo, and who knows who else. It's going to take some time to get everyone's memories of us back after this is over."
Hawkeye more or less agreed with Yuki on how Shi might not have been seen as a threat. Petermon had probably been watching Kaya and her friends for a while now and saw how apathetic Shi could be, figuring that altering his memory wouldn't have been worth it in the end. Oh, how wrong Petermon turned out to be...
The group then made it to Kyoto, ending up nearby to the Yotsutsuji intersection, a part of the Fushimi Inari Shrine. After Daichi's spirit form was depleted, everyone was in agreement that splitting up would be the best thing to do. Except there were two problems: Daichi and Yuki had no idea what Kaya looked like, and only Shi and Daichi had phones. Shi suggested that they split into teams of two, one human and one Digimon. "I agree, that would make the most sense."
As for the other problem, Hawkeye would handle this. "She has medium length blonde hair and blue eyes, and she typically wears a black beret with an identical feather on it." He pointed to his own headband feather for emphasis. "It might be best if I group with Daichi while Shi groups with Yuki. That way, both groups will have at least one that knows what Kaya looks like."
So, it looked like that problem was solved! Shi and Yuki could decide on their own time where to actually go searching for Kaya and Petermon, while Hawkeye had an idea. "How long will it be until you can spirit evolve again, Daichi? I believe if we take a birds-eye view of the city then we'll be able to sense Kaya in no time."

Shi didn't recognize those last two names but the first three he had an idea about, huh so they knew Adrian and Weston, Small world. Though Shi didn't really know Adrian if he was honest, one shaky mission wasn't really enough to get Shi to think too much about someone. "Well if it's coming from Kaya herself it should be more believable, hopefully that helps out a bit." After all it was hard to deny it when the person in question was the one stating the information.
Daichi folded his arms for a moment nodding to himself for a second before giving the digimon a thumbs up. "Alright, I can picture em in my head now. Shouldn't be too hard to make them out in a crowd." It was a lot easier than finding someone with black hair anyway, plus that hat would definitely stand out.
"Alright, C'mon Shi! Lets get going." She seemed decently excited to go along with the teen as he waved off while basically being dragged away by her readiness to help out, almost forgetting entirely that they might hafta fight soon.
"Should take just a few minutes, just enough to catch my breath really. Still new to this whole spirit thing but I know a thing or two about." Tapping his foot for a moment Daichi looked around for a minute before getting his baring's on the situation. "Birds eye view would be better, she's here on a trip right? If so it might be best to look at the popular Hotspots first that some students would be tasked to go, Kinkaku-ji would be an ideal one it's one of the more popular buildings around. There's also the National Museum that I can see some teachers dragging students to." Actually a thought occurred to Daichi as he got closer to Hawkeye holding his phone up. "Actually this could help, it's a tourist map of the place, once we can fly if we follow around here to the local hotspots we should be able to sense em no problem." It was a line that went around through a buncha different areas, would be slow on foot but in the air it'd be no problem.
Meanwhile Shi and Yuki had gone the completely opposite direction with his hands in his pockets Shi looked around the area a bit followed by the SnowAgumon. "So, how should we start looking for her?" Yuki was taking in the sights at the moment but she was still focused on the task ahead of her!
"Easy, I was just going to ask some people if anyone has seen her. While I do that you circle around me from above and see if you can pick anything up." If anyone asked why he was looking for her he'd just tell them she dropped something and was trying to return it, technically not a lie considering he was trying to return Hawkeye to her.

"Yeah, you may have a point..." Hawkeye said in response to the story being more believable when coming from Kaya herself. "But first, we must be the ones to convince her that it's the truth. Petermon may have been sloppy when it comes to altering memories, but I'm convinced that he somehow had Kaya forget about her journal." Like Shi, Kaya also kept a journal filled with drawings of the Digimon she met.
After Shi and Yuki had left, Daichi said to Hawkeye that it would take a few minutes for him to be able to spirit evolve again. "I understand," Hawkeye said, though he had a very worried expression on his face. He couldn't help but think about what Kaya and Petermon were doing in Kyoto at this very moment. It would be visible enough for Daichi to notice at the very least, but Hawkeye wouldn't be the one to express his concerns.
Daichi then had an idea. He took out his phone and pulled up a tourist map of the place, and suggested that flying to the local hot spots would help them sense Kaya and Petermon in no time. "That's a wonderful idea!" Hawkeye said, a smile forming on his beak thanks to the renewed hope. "Flying around Kyoto will take no time in the slightest! Maybe I need to get one of those 'phone' things..."
Once Daichi was able to spirit evolve again, the two would take to the skies and fly around Kyoto, following the map of tourist destinations in order to be able to sense Kaya and Petermon. It was more than likely going to take a while though, since Kaya and Petermon were likely on the move and there were plenty of hotspots within Kyoto alone. Within twenty minutes though, their luck would change. Flying over the Gion District would suddenly have Hawkeye and Daichi sensing a sudden Champion-level signature. "Daichi, do you feel that? Petermon has to be somewhere around here."
Meanwhile, Shi's venture to ask around for Kaya didn't yield many fruitful results. Most didn't know who Shi was talking about, and one or two people described the wrong person entirely. Finally, there was one person that had a straight answer for Shi. "I think I saw someone like that with a bunch of other middle school students. They were on some kind of class trip, I think. Pretty sure I overheard them say something about going to the Gion District, but don't quote me on that."

Well at least that was convenient, that is if she had the journal on her at the moment. If she didn't things might get a bit trickier but hey it's not like Shi wasn't used to tricky situations after all this time. So with that he went on his way.
Daichi rubbed the back of his head looking at his digivice. "Sorry, I haven't really had time to get used to this thing, been less than a week since I got it. If I'm honest all this is still freaking me out a bit, heh." With a slightly nervous Chuckle Daichi quickly switched gears punching his open palm. "But hey, we'll solve this problem. We got the numbers and the knowledge on our side. No matter what lies this dudes feeding her the truth will always come out in the end."
If Daichi's little declaration didn't cheer him up the next thing definitely did. "You don't have one? Man you really should it's definitely pretty useful. Heck Shi has an old flip phone and I still see him using it all the time." As Daichi put his away in his pocket something occurred to him. "Oh wait, Phones. You digimon ain't used to those, maybe Kaya has some pictures of you and her on her cellphone? She's a teen girl and according to my mom that's what all teenage girls do is be on their phone, if he didn't think about it Petermon might've not deleted any photos she has!" Just another piece of evidence they could possibly use!
Once he was able to evolve again Daichi switched back to his Magnamon form flying along the line that he pointed out on his phone, honestly seeing it from this high up was pretty weird to him if he was honest but that thought was quickly thrown out a few minutes later as suddenly he felt something, something weirdly strong then what he was used to feeling. "Yeah, I feel it too. How should we play this? Should we drop down and look or wait and send a message to Shi? She doesn't know us at the moment after all might seem weird if we approach." There was also the small problem that he probably knew they were coming considering the conversation he had with Shi over the phone.
Shi asked around a bit, thankfully he was able to discern the unhelpful information from the helpful stuff till eventually someone finally gave him a straight answer. "Gion District, thanks I appreciate it." Shi quickly checked his map on his phone for a moment before he started rushing over to that said district.
Making their way over eventually Yuuki's eyes got narrow as she stopped for a moment. "Shi, I sense someone." Stopping next to her Shi looked around, trying to find Kaya. Till eventually he got an idea and just called her phone, hopefully he'd be able to think of a lie before she picked up.

"The very concept of Digimon is a tough pill to swallow, I must admit," Hawkeye said, empathizing with how Daichi must be feeling about the whole thing. "Having the power to become a Digimon yourself must make it even more stressful for yourself." Despite this, Daichi seemed more than determined to find this Petermon and put a stop to his scheme. Hawkeye looked at him for a bit before smiling. "Of course. We'll come out victorious in the end."
Daichi seemed surprised that Hawkeye didn't have a phone, and suggested that he should get one. "As handy as cellphones are, I personally have no use for one. I am not one to rely on technology for my day-to-day life... and quite frankly, the amount of humans I see on their own cellphones at once frightens me."
Then Daichi mentioned Kaya's phone, and how there might still be photos on them since Digimon aren't used to phones. "You may be correct! Digimon do not have smartphones in the Digital World, and I did not learn about them until after I came to live here! There are endless photos of me on her phone, they should still be there."
And with that, Hawkeye and Daichi took to the skies, following the line that had been pointed out on his phone. After a few minutes of flying, they both sensed that Digimon signature coming from none other than in the Gion District. Daichi asked Hawkeye how they should play this. "No doubt that Petermon knows we're coming. He probably senses us right now. Message Shi, we shall be his back-up in case he needs us."
Meanwhile, Kaya was checking out a shop somewhere in the Gion District, knowing that Petermon was somewhere nearby in disguise in case something bad happened. Her phone then started ringing in her bag. Pulling it out, she saw that the caller ID had Shi's name on it. Why is he calling me again? she wondered. It would be rude if she blocked the call, so she answered the phone and held it up to her ear. "Shi? Is something wrong?"

"Heh, funnily enough the toughest pill to swallow was that Shi was involved in something like this all along, probably isn't hard to tell but he doesn't come across as living the most exciting life. If you told me he was dealing with monsters on a daily basis before I'd call you mad." It was a tough concept it's true, especially when it involves someone you've literally hung out with in school. "Actually, funnily enough it makes it easier. Feels sorta, liberating when I'm in that form. Part of the reason I didn't go mad if I'm honest, just knowing that form is something bound to me makes it, I dunno a bit more special?" He didn't have the feeling clear yet, looking at his hand as a tiny bit of fractal code surrounded it proved the feeling though, whatever it was.
"Oh yeah definitely, some people spend way too much time on their phones. I'd rather be outside, usually running. Heck when we get done here I should convince Shi to hang out here, I mean already here so might as well." Daichi didn't know what plans Shi had for today but if he was going to make Daichi get up at the buttcrack of dawn then he was going to pay for it.
But enough of that talk, now they were in the Gion district. Daichi slowly lowered back to the ground before degenerating back into his human form grabbing his phone out of his pocket. H S, Mn Hwk r n Gion Dst. Snse pete. on stby. If Hawkeye happened to look at his phone he would see a line of texts similar to the one he just wrote, well it got the message across fast at least. "Yeah I ain't texting with those giant claws, Would a phone even register a digital hand?" Now he was curious about that, test for later.
Shi meanwhile still had his phone up, realizing he hadn't come up with a convincing lie he just decided to wing it and hope for the best. Waiting a few seconds Shi dropped his phone for a moment catching it in his other hand before talking a bit faster than normal "Hey Kaya, I heard there was some digimon wandering around Kyoto. Came to check it out, in the Gion district. Figured I'd warn you." As Shi was saying that he quickly shot a text back to Daichi. 'Hide and break the seal.' Before holding his phone back to his head.
Daichi got the text almost immediately, looking back at Hawkeye showing the message. "I think Shi has a plan, should we try it?" If Hawkeye agreed Daichi would quickly bring out out his D-tector and slashing it again, flying up to the top of the larger buildings before wiping away the magical mark Yuki put on him, this would let him be sensed by digimon again and hopefully draw Kaya out so Shi can talk to him, at least he hoped that she'd want to take care of some rouge digimon.
Unless Hawkeye wanted to be the target which he'd let him, or not at all and it'd be a false alarm.

"Indeed," Hawkeye said with a nod. "Shi is not truly responsive on the outside when it comes to a majority of things, but thanks to my partner's sister being friends with his own, I have spent enough time with Shi and his partners to be able to tell how Shi truly feels about something. He's not emotionless; he just simply refrains from showing that emotion. Or at least, I believe he tries to."
And Daichi did have a point... Kyoto was absolutely breathtaking. If there was one positive that would come out of this experience, it's that it gave Hawkeye the chance to see it all for himself in person. Once they got to the ground, Hawkeye saw that Daichi reverted back to his human form and started texting someone, who Hawkeye presumed to be Shi. But just what he was texting was something that went beyond a couple grammar and spelling mistakes, to the point that it visibly confused the Hawkmon greatly. "Wh-what form of gibberish is this?" Hawkeye asked, the message clearly leaping right over his poor little avian head. "That is no language like I have ever seen." The other messages in that style did not help things, either. "A Digimon in Kyoto?" Kaya asked while she was still on the phone with Shi. He did think that his speech pattern was a bit weird, but then again he was talking a bit crazy this morning. "We'll keep an eye out, but the only Digimon here right now is Petermon. Are you feeling okay, Shi? I'm a bit worried about you after that call from this morning."
While that call was going on, Shi texted Daichi back, telling him and Hawkeye to hide and break their magical seals. Daichi asked for Hawkeye's input before he did anything. "I trust Shi's judgement, so let us see what his plan consists of." Hawkeye would then follow the newly evolved Daichi up to one of the top of the larger buildings. He observed as Daichi wiped away his own seal, so Hawkeye tried something similar to get it to work. Luckily for everyone, Petermon took the bait. In his disguise, he walked over to Kaya. "M'lady, I can sense two Digimon close by: a rookie level and a Champion level."
"Just like what Shi said..." Kaya muttered to Petermon before she got back on the phone to talk to Shi. "Petermon senses the Digimon. Don't worry about us, we'll take care of that Digimon as soon as possible." Kaya REALLY hoped this would be quick, as she still just wanted her school trip to be a normal one...
