MPC Name: Urban Legends MPC Number: 102bReward Requested: Posts
Urban legends. You’ve heard of some. Everyone has. You’d be hard-pressed to find any place on Earth that doesn’t have SOME kind of urban legend going around. Bigfoot. The Jersey Devil. The Kuchisake-Onna, or Slit-mouthed woman. They’re simply everywhere. Most people simply dismiss these urban legends as just stories. Tall tales meant to spook people or attract tourists or something. But deep down, everyone has that small part deep inside them that can’t help but wonder if some of these legends might possibly be true.
It seemed like an ordinary night in Shibuya. The sky was clear, bathing the city in the light of a full moon as a simple office worker was leaving his workplace and heading off to catch a train on his way home after working late. The man was talking to his wife on his cell phone as he walked, apologizing for having to stay late. As he was walking, the man was startled as his phone call abruptly cut off in a loud burst of static, forcing him to move the phone away from his ear. The man tried to figure out what was up with his phone, but the phone abruptly died, refusing to turn back on no matter how the man tried to turn it back on. The office worker growled in irritation at the malfunctioning device, but his attention was diverted by the fact that all of the nearby streetlights quickly shut off, one by one. The office worker whirled around in confusion, completely unsure of what was going on around him until he saw a piece of paper taped to a light pole that definitely wasn’t there a moment ago. The man grabbed the paper off of the streetlight pole and examined it, learning that the paper was covered in what looked like a hastily-scribbled picture of a tall, faceless man in a suit, with the word “RUN” written in jagged letters all around the faceless man. The office worker was confused as to what he was looking at, until he heard an odd droning sound coming from behind him. As he turned to look at the source of the noise, the man paled as he saw what was standing behind him. As the figure reached out to him, somehow filling the office worker’s vision with static in the process, the poor man could only scream in heart-wrenching terror. A few moments later, all that was left was an abandoned cellphone and a crumpled sheet of paper.

It had all been a coincidence. Arisa had been wandering aimlessly through the night, finding all sorts of pleasant ways to spend the time, until she thought she heard a scream. That certainly seemed like it would be interesting!
Unfortunately, Arisa only found a strange note, as well as an abandoned cell phone, belonging to a woman who was clearly worried about her husband. Her name was Hiromi, she and her husband had been married for seven years, they only had one child together, but the thing that Arisa picked up the most was that she was clearly worried for her husband's safety. Which made since to Arisa, considering the situation. Before hanging up, Arisa promised that she'd call the police, and they'd look into it.
...But calling the cops would make things considerably less fun, no? So Arisa made some calls out to some other people she knew. It was pretty late though, and several of her friends were pretty young, and besides, going out at night was more of a grown-up thing to do!
The first to arrive were a medium-height young woman, with dark brown hair, bright blue eyes, wearing a denim jacket and matching jeans. Following her was a nearly six-foot tall woman with luxuriously long blond hair, wearing a baggy black hoodie and matching sweatpants, probably because it was exceedingly difficult to find better-fitting clothes for taller women in Japan.
"We're here," Reiko, the shorter, darker-haired woman stated with a blank tone and expression, while the taller blonde looked far more annoyed, though Arisa pretended not to notice.
"So what was this emergency you needed us for?" Annika, the blonde asked, her tone far more inconvenienced.
"Oh, we are just waiting for the others to be showing up soon!" Arisa assured them, shortly after, a small child in a light pink skirt and white, sleeveless, hoodie approached them. Oh wait, it wasn't a small child, it was just Sakura!
"Even Reiko and Annika are here..." She stated, giving Arisa a curious glance. "What's going on, Arisa? I had to cross over in order to get here."
Well, there was someone else supposed to be showing up, but Arisa couldn't help herself at this point. And if she didn't say something, considering Reiko, Annika, and Sakura's personalities, there would have been this awkward silence that would have driven Arisa mad.
"Weee~eeell..." She began in a soft, almost melodious tone that forced the three to listen intently. She gave a bright smile as she excitedly proclaimed, "We are going to be finding a missing person! I have found a cell phone belonging to a missing person, so we are going to working together and find him!"
"I think you're a little too... cheerful for something serious like this," Sakura stated. "And besides, this is probably an issue for this world's police..."
"But the man is missing very suddenly, almost like they were vanished without a trace!" Arisa elaborated. "I am thinking that maybe that is not something police is solving!"
"...Right..." Annika interjected, before turning around. "Well, good luck with that. I'm not interested in that kind of stuff, so..." She went to walk away, but Reiko reached out and grabbed her arm. "What?"
"This doesn't feel right," Reiko explained. "If it's a ghost, or demon, or something, don't you want to meet it?"
"I-it's probably just a Digimon playing a prank!" Annika countered. "Don't tell me you believe in that occult stuff! There's absolutely no way that kind of stuff could exist!"
Reiko gave the blonde a level glance before going, "Oh... You're scared of that kind of stuff, aren't you?"
But before Annika could fly into a panicky-rage, Sakura stepped in between the pair. "Whether it's some kind of spirit or just a Digimon, either way we might not be prepared to handle it by ourselves. Without Hotaru, we're not exactly at our strongest, so..."
However, Sakura was interrupted by the last to arrive. Misaki, a red-head in a bright pink dress, wheeling their tamer in her chair, dressed in nothing but a nightgown, still clearly asleep. Sakura pursed her lips as she glared over to Arisa. "Arisa. Did you ask Misaki to abduct Hotaru in the middle of the night just so she could come with us?"
"Oh, of course!" Arisa stated, oblivious to Sakura's quiet rage. "If things get dangerous we'll needing her! But we are letting her sleep for now!"
Welp... it looks like the gang was gathered and they were off to begin an investigation that would most certainly be boring and not-scary whatsoever!
...But they weren't alone. For there were three figures in the shadow, watching over them. Three tiny figures, who weren't going to just let only the "grown-ups" have all the fun. But it's already crowded as it is, so it's best not to address them unless they're needed for the plot.

Little did the group know that there was one other observer in the area: a Shademon literally melting into the shadows so as to remain unseen as it watched from a nearby alleyway. As the group argued about whether or not to try and find the missing person that had seemingly been abducted by the Slender Man (not that the group knew about that part yet). The observer was annoyed that these random hooligans might be trying to interfere with his plan, but the irritation quickly faded as the entity had an idea. If these people wanted to find the missing office worker, then they might as well join him as the entity's food supply. As he worked out a plan for drawing these do-gooders away, Abaddon slithered into the alley so he could secretly split his mass into two parts. One half formed into the shape of the mythical Mothman, while the other half morphed into an ordinary-looking black labrador with a collar. While Mothman-Abaddon climbed up to the rooftop, Dog-Abaddon happily trotted his way out of the alley and approached the group. If the group looked at Dog-Abaddon's collar, they'd see a simple tag on it that simply had the name "Donnie" printed on it. "Woof!"With Mothman-Abaddon hidden from sight on the rooftop, Dog-Abaddon would run around the group while acting like your typical hyperactive dog. He ran around in circles and even tried jumping on Reiko before settling down and sitting in the middle of the group with his tongue hanging out. However, the ragtag group of investigators wouldn't have much time to interact with "Donnie", as that was the moment that Mothman-Abaddon swooped down with a screech and scooped up "Donnie" into its arms. The moth creature would then fly away, "Donnie" squirming and whining in its grip.

As things were ALREADY grinding to a halt, seeing as the group of wannabe investigators had zero clues to go off of, thankfully that would all change, as a being appeared from the shadows.
"There's someone there! Reveal yourself!" Sakura suddenly barked, quickly stepping forward, the primary-school-sized girl putting herself as a shield between the sleeping general and... this new... threat.
Indeed, for as this new creature appeared, Reiko, Annika, Misaki, and Arisa all looked from Sakura towards... Donnie.
"You... uh... you think you might be taking this a little bit too seriously, friend?" Annika stated in a mocking tone while the other girl's face reddened and looked away in sudden shame. And yet, Sakura wasn't the only tense one.
Arisa suddenly felt a hand grip her arm as she looked over to Reiko so see the usually stoic girl with a strange, wide-eyed stare. Almost as if she were... Yep. Arisa's suspicions were proven correct as the young woman stifled a shriek as the new, completely innocent and innocuous dog got near her. As Donnie tried to oppress the holosuited cat Digimon, Reiko scrambled over and up onto Annika's back, the tall blonde looking utterly annoyed in the process.
"What's going on...?" The sleeping girl in the wheelchair stirred, rubbing her eyes to see a bunch of young women huddling around a single dog. "Huh." She didn't seem too fazed by waking up in the middle of the city, for whatever reason. Then again, Hotaru did tend to sleep a lot while traveling. Waking up in unfamiliar environments was probably par for the course.
While Reiko kept Annika tied up, and Sakura was still reeling from her embarrassment, only Misaki and Arisa would have a brief second to pet the good doggo before it was suddenly whisked away, screaming and kicking by some strange monster that Arisa had never seen before... something that looked like gargoyle sculpted by an entomologist. In fact, the only person who knew what they were supposed to be looking at was currently breathing a sigh of relief as the dog got whisked away. Yet... not even Reiko could stand by and do nothing after what just happened. Hopefully the random businessman was taken by the same creature, because the gang was going to focus on this thing now!
"Hey, you!" Annika pointed towards Hotaru. "Do your thing, already!" Hotaru scowled back at the blonde, but nodded as she pulled out her Loader and held it up. Annika and Reiko turned from their human guises to their respective Tailmon variants, merging together to form a much more vicious-looking kitty.
The Meicoomon climbed up wall after wall as if it were nothing, leaping from rooftop to rooftop after the Mothman. The ever-quiet Misaki took the form a pink-feathered Lucemon and Arisa herself taking on her Morphomon body, the two Digimon taking flight and following the Meicoomon and Mothman. They likely wouldn't be able to catch up to the kidnapping meaniehead, but if he wanted to lead the group somewhere... well he certainly succeeded!
Which naturally left Sakura all alone with Hotaru, as the two just shrugged to each other, Sakura wheeling Hotaru off at a mildly brisk pace.

As both halves of Abaddon flew off, the Mothman half made sure that the investigators were following it properly. The fact that the ones following him were a Meicoomon, Morphomon, and a surprisingly pink Lucemon was a bit of a surprise, but not one Abaddon was too worried about. After all, once he led these fools to where he was keeping the people he'd kidnapped (yes, he'd nabbed more than just the one office worker), he'd be able to have his mercenaries help him out.
And so the Mothman flew on, occasionally swerving out of reach of his pursuers until he eventually came to a seemingly-abandoned warehouse. The Mothman flew into the warehouse through a shattered window and dropped "Donnie" on the floor of the main room, where the fake dog simply whimpered and feigned being hurt as it lay on the floor of the dusty warehouse (acting as bait for the three pursuing Digimon. The Mothman then hurried into the warehouse's backroom before the pursuers made it to the warehouse.
In the back room, Abaddaon's personal mercenaries, the Jackal Unit were keeping watch over the handful of humans Abaddon had kidnapped over the past few days. The humans were tied to office chairs while the Medic was keeping them sedated, preventing the humans from making a ruckus and drawing unwanted attention. The Sniper, Heavy, and Pyro were keeping guard as their team's crazy doctor tied up the office worker Abaddon grabbed earlier.
"Oy, what's with the cheesy bug suit?" Sniper asked. "Tried grabbing someone else so soon and they got away?"
"We have incoming pests. A Meicoomon, a Morphomon, and a Lucemon." The Mothman growled out as it shifted back into the traditional mass of darkness and eyes Shademon usually took. "Medic stays here with the hostages, while the rest of you come with me to deal with this. Either I get a few new appetizers to feed on, or we get rid of a potential security leak. Either is acceptable."
The three combat-oriented members of the Jackal Unit saluted their employer before following him out of the back room. Before heading out the door, though, Abaddon did have one question.
"Where the heck did the Spy guy go?"
Back over by Sakura and Hotaru...
As Sakura was pushing her Xros General's wheelchair, a hand would grab onto Sakura's shoulder as a knife-wielding Sealsdramon faded into visibility behind them. "Ladies. Normally I try not to harm children, but I'm afraid you've seen too much. You can either come with me quietly, or else I'll simply have to kill you." WC: 1149/1000 (cue the confetti!)

Despite the Meicoomon's best efforts, the flying bugman was always just out of the kitty's reach. But they had eventually stopped, heading into what looked like an abandoned warehouse. Meicoomon began to press on, but Misaki caught up to the leaping kitty, shaking her head as they neared, pointing towards a nearby rooftop. Meicoomon scowled for a brief moment, but the Digixros'd kitty's cooler side managed to prevail as Meicoomon, Misaki, and Arisa all managed to reconvene.
"What? They've gotten away this far. Let's just grab the mutt and get out while we can," The white and black cat demanded, but once again the Lucemon shook her head.
"Oh, I am thinking that she is saying that it is being suspicious that the creepy monster thing picked this spot to make a stand," Arisa attempted to translate, as Misaki nodded her confirmation. "This is being a trap, no? We were not being unnoticeable when we were following! And we are far ahead of our little girl, so-"
"We couldn't care less about what the human can do for us," Meicoomon interrupted. "We're already transformed, and they'll only get in the way, for that matter. So you two hang back while I take care of this. I think I can handle some scrawny little mothman and a couple of traps." And with that, Meicoomon leaped off the rooftop and straight towards the abandoned warehouse.
Misaki frowned as she glanced over to Arisa with a downcast expression. "I am not worrying! You will watch over them while I will go get our little human, is what you are thinking, no?" Misaki gave a sad smile as Arisa let out another chuckle. "Your face is being so easy to read! I will be back soo~oon!" She declared in a sing-songy tone as the Morphomon flew off once again to find her Xros General. Meanwhile, Misaki only watched on as the Meicoomon totally wasn't going to be able to handle whatever was in store for them. Meanwhile, Sakura jumped a little as someone suddenly grabbed her shoulder, but she remained still for the most part, as the Sealsdramon gave his threat, as Hotaru shuffled some things around in her pajama pockets.
"I don't know fully what's going on here, and frankly, I don't care," Hotaru commented, letting out an exasperated sigh. "If you're not some kind of small fry, you should probably Digivolve to a stronger form. Otherwise you're going to regret every choice you've made tonight."
Sakura attempted to reason with the would-be assassin. "I don't appreciate being touched for no reason, let alone having our lives threatened. We're a lot less harmless than you think we are, but we're also in a hurry."
Sakura's human guise flickered for a brief moment, as she momentarily glanced to a spot behind the Sealsdramon, where three unusual Digital Signals, muffled by their own holosuits, happened to be hiding. "Let us be, and you can continue to not harm any children tonight. I'd prefer not to fight if possible, but I assure you that I'm much less reserved about hurting someone who threatens the people I'm supposed to protect."

The Sealsdramon, known only by his codename "Spy", tightened his grip on his combat knife when he saw Sakura's holosuit flicker. That alone wasn't enough to intimidate him. Clearly, this was a member of a Xros Army staying behind with their general, seeing as the two Tailmon variants had fused into Meicoomon as they chased after the Mothman and "Donnie". Still, the Spy was certain he could handle a lone Digimon who wouldn't even be able to evolve of Xros on their own.
At least, that's what he thought until he saw Sakura look over his shoulder at something behind him. The Sealsdramon turned his head and followed Sakura's gaze. even if their Digital signatures were muffled, the assassin could tell that there was something hiding over there. He internally swore as he realized he might be outmatched.
Spy slowly sheathed his knife and backed away into the shadows of an alleyway. "Well, I can certainly tell when the cards are not in my favor, so I shall back down for now. I would highly caution you to cease your investigation, or else things might get messy in the future. Perhaps we will meet again, although you certainly won't be aware of it." Back at the warehouse... As the Meicoomon simply strolled into the warehouse where Abaddon and his soldiers were hiding, the empty building seemed abnormally quiet aside from a seemingly-injured "Donnie" whimpering as he laid on his side on the ground. Once the X2 Digimon got close, however, "Donnie turned his head to look at the cat Digimon with bright red eyes... while numerous other red eyes opened up all along the sides of the "dog". "Surpri~ise."
With that reveal, Abaddon shed the remains of his disguise as his other half descended from the rafters and re-merged with him. "You know, you idiots were surprisingly gullible! You came all the way out here just to rescue a mere dog? A fake dog?! It's hilarious how just how easy this was!"
Abaddon burst into a fit of giggles at how easy this all was. "I know you're little friends are probably right outside, but don't worry. I brought some friends to keep them company while I eviscerate you. But juuust so you don't crawl away... Shademon Shinka!"
Abaddon's body twisted and contorted as it grew in size, reaching the size of a minivan as it developed a fully formed jaw with razor-sharp fangs and two clawed arms. "Eyesmon. Now, die! Janengan!"
Abaddon then unleashed a barrage of eye lasers upon his feline opponent. Unlike his previous encounter with a certain Tamer and Shoutmon, Abaddon was going all-out from the get-go, so as to avoid any sucker punches. Outside the warehouse... While Misaki was waiting outside, the three available members of the Jackal Unit (Sniper, Pyro, and Heavy) emerged onto the roof and aimed their weapons at the Lucemon.
"Now is good time to die, puny angel!" Heavy said in a broken manner, as he unleashed a rain of lead upon the angel with his minigun. "Just try to outrun bullet! Ahaha!"
Eyesmon: -Janengan: Eyesmon fires lasers from his eyes, all aimed at a single target.

Hotaru looked on as the Sealsdramon suddenly appeared, threatened the group a bit, then slinked away just as easily, after Sakura puffed her chest out and made some idle threats. "....Guess he really was just a chump, after all," She commented, while Sakura let out a sigh of relief. She really didn't want to get caught up in a fight in Shibuya. There was just too much potential for disaster right there.
But she couldn't exactly continue ignoring what was going on, either. Apparently someone wanted them dead for investigating the disappearances, which meant the ones that went off to chase Donnie were likely also in danger. She glanced over towards the three hiding out before yelling "Okay, it's time to come out. We're gonna have to mobilize quick if we're gonna catch up with the others!"
It was then that Matsuri, Kirara, and Momo appeared, the three little tykes all about to speak until Arisa the Morphomon came into view. Sakura looked over to the descending butterfly as she spoke up. "Yoo~hoo! Reiko and Annika are likely falling into a trap while Misaki is watching, so we should be getting going towards the warehouse now, no?" Arisa's explanation could probably use some elaborating, but seeing as they were pressed for time...
So it was up to Hotaru, as her wheelchair suddenly shimmered and took the form of a much more impressive-looking high-tech throne, complete with rocket boosters and everything. Hotaru held up her Xros Loader as Sakura, Matsuri, Momo, and Kirara all vanished within, and the flying-wheelchair girl turned towards Arisa. "Lead the way."
But for as awesome as it would be for flying wheelchair girl to come immediately to everyone's rescue, it unfortunately wouldn't be this post. Like a bunch of jerks, Abaddon and his mooks all decided to pick on lower-level mons, which was totally lame. Well, at least they could sense how powerful their opponents were.
As for Misaki, she was indeed puny, compared to Abaddon's new hires. The Lucemon ducked for cover as much as she could, but dodging bullets wasn't exactly in her skill set. At least the guy with the heavy machine gun was loud enough to announce his presence.
Misaki did her best to move out of the line of fire, and while she did a much better job than she expected, there was this massive, burning ache she could feel near her chest as she realized that where was now a smoldering hole which should probably get attended to. She had never been shot before, and wondered if this was a normal reaction, or just a Digimon thing. Either way, it was clear the puny angel wasn't gonna be fighting for very long.
The Lucemon thought about flying away, but the several holes and mangled feathers that used to be her wings told a different story, which only left the Lucemon one option. If she couldn't fly away or fight back... She staggered backwards, towards the edge of the roof, as she clutched her biggest wound while gritting her teeth. Then she suddenly lost her balance as she fell off the roof and onto the pavement below, crumpling lifelessly on the ground as she remained completely motionless.
Sure, she wasn't scattering into data, but even Digimon lose consciousness, right? Hopefully they wouldn't use her playing dead as an excuse to jump off the roof themselves and finish the job. And as for our kitty friend... from the moment Abaddon began his mocking monologue, Meicoomon began to gather shadows around themselves. A part of Meicoomon knew that trying to help a dog in need would only end in disaster, but to be perfectly honest, they were more concerned about beating up whoever kidnapped the mutt in the first place. The fact that there wasn't a mutt in need after all didn't really change matters much.
What did change matters was the fact that this shadowy monster Digivolved into an Ultimate-level. That was, sadly, just a bit above Meicoomon's weight class. It would provide some difficulty regarding Meicoomon's survivability at the moment.
Thankfully, the creepy, many-eyed monster seemed to be the long-winded type, which gave the Meicoomon ample time to prepare, covering themselves with a shadowy shield in preparation for the Eyesmon's eye lasers.
However, as was typical with a non-combat passive, the shadowy shield did jack-all to actually protect themselves as the beams punched through their fortifications like they were made out smoke, and they'd probably punch right through Meicoomon as well... assuming they were still standing there.
But instead, Meicoomon used the opportunity to stealthily roll away and cover themselves in the darkness with a blanket of shadow. Sure the dude had a gajillion eyes, but the tiny cat Digimon was pretty sneaky... but unfortunately, that was the only thing going for them.
Unless Abaddon was planning on giving another evil speech, it wasn't a trick that would work a second time. And it was only a matter of time until Abaddon would notice Meicoomon regardless. But at the very least, it would hopefully buy the vicious kitty a bit more time.

After Misaki decided to play dead in the hope that the three Jackal Unit members would ignore them and move on, Heavy leaned over the edge of the rooftop to take a closer look at the Lucemon. "Is puny angel dead?"
"Mate, if that there Lucemon still has a body, then they ain't dead." Sniper replied with a sigh as he facepalmed at his coworker's thickheadedness. "You guys know what the boss said to do with snoops. Either get down there and tie 'em up with the others or finish the little bugger off."
"Da, makes sense." Heavy replied, before he jumped down onto the concrete below with a heavy thud, his gun in one arm and the Pyro in the other. Once on the ground, the Pyro poked Misaki with its foot before pouring a flask of gasoline on the Lucemon and pulling out a lighter to try and set the wounded angel on fire. Inside the warehouse, Abaddon growled as the Meicoomon used the darkness, before he began mentally berating himself for playing with his food again. This was just like what happened with that accursed Shoutmon again. "Ah, screw it. I don't have time to waste with you! Diffuse Janengan!"
With that, the Eyesmon unleashed a bullet hell of lasers in every direction, not caring as he turned the walls and roof of his base into swiss cheese. Even if he couldn't see the Meicoomon, the cat would have trouble dodging THIS many lasers at once. Outside the warehouse, the Jackal Unit jumped as Abaddon's laser punched their way outside, all three of them dancing around to avoid being hit by friendly fire. As they danced around to avoid the lasers, the Pyro would drop their lit lighter right onto Misaki.
"Bloody hell, what in Zhuqiaomon's name is going on in there?!" Sniper complained as he barely managed to avoid toppling off the roof. The Spy, meanwhile, was still watching Hotaru, Sakura, and the others from the shadows. The stealthy member of the Jackal Unit was biding his time until he saw an opportunity to strike.

Unfortunately for the spy, keeping track and following Hotaru's group would prove to be a challenge. As everyone but went into Hotaru's Digivice, the Morphomon herself floating onto Hotaru's lap and pointing the direction of the warehouse. Hotaru turned that way before going completely invisible, the only noticeable thing was the roaring engine of her wheelchair-turned flying vehicle.
And as for Misaki... she wasn't just going to let someone pour gas on her and light her on fire, on account of not being a bloody idiot. As soon as soon as the Pyro started pouring the accelerant she rolled over and began to flap her many large wings to blow the liquid at the very least away from her, maybe even onto the pyro themselves if she was lucky. Granted, that left the heavy with a prime opportunity to shoot her, but that couldn't really be avoided.
Thankfully, that opportunity wouldn't come, as a wheelchair-bound flying missile flew in out of nowhere, a dark-haired girl in light blue pajamas with cartoon goats, and a head of hair that looked like she had just flown eleventy billion kilometers an hour, took a glance at the surroundings and held up her Digivice. Two Digimon erupted from her Xros Loader, an indigo-colored Lilimon, and a massive, purple Megidramon.
"Seems like you've been keeping my friend company," Hotaru stated with a deadpan expression, glancing over to the Lucemon with a gunshot wound. "I hope you'll be willing to hang out with these guys, too. They're feeling awfully lonely tonight."
"Something is telling us that they will not be pleasuring company..." The Lilimon commented, their odd speech making it clear which personality was dominant in this form.
The big purple dragon, on the other, hand, didn't speak so much as... let out an angry roar that was definitely gonna wake up the neighbors. Or at least make them think a purple Godzilla was attacking the warehouse district.
But before any of Hotaru's Digimon could make a move, a bunch of laser beams shot out from the warehouse and sent everyone scrambling around. The massive Megidramon wasn't going to be dodging a barrage of lasers anytime soon, so it used its big body to cover Hotaru, Misaki, and the Lilimon. And at that very moment, a Meicoomon came flying out of the building as a beam blaster them right out and they crashed onto the ground not far from everyone else.
"Ow... That dude is such an asshole..." They groaned as they looked up to the sky. "Oh... stars aren't visible tonight... that's lame... Oh hey everyone else is here..." The cat hopped onto their feet as they turned towards their comrades and the jackal unit.

The Pyro was disappointed that he had failed to set Misaki on fire, but at least he was smart enough to not get splashed with the gasoline that the Lucemon blew away with their damaged wings. Seeing how his previous attempt at arson was thwarted, the pyromaniac pulled out his flamethrower so that he could try again, but was interrupted by the sudden appearance of Hotaru, a Lillimon Xros, and a Megidramon.
The Heavy was excited to have some REAL opponents, and it was easy to see, clear as day. "Ha! Heavy finally gets REAL fight, and not face winged babies!"
It was at that point that Abaddon smashed his way out of the warehouse, drawn out by the sound of the Megidramon's roar, his eyes darting betwwen Misaki, Meicoomon, and the Lillimon before settling on the Megidramon. "Men, you focus on the weaklings and the flower girl. The dragon is mine."
Just like the Heavy, Abaddon was looking forward to facing a real opponent. Hunting the Meicoomon was fun, but facing a Megidramon? Even if it was only a Super Evo, it should still be one heck of a battle. "Ohoho, I'm gonna have fun with you. Now tell me, just what do you fear most?"
As he spoke that last question, Abaddon's many eyes started to glow, while his pupils turned into hypnotic spirals as he activated his Nightmare Reverie. In mere moments, everyone nearby would be experiencing terrifying hallucinations that would mess with their senses and eat away at their sanity. Not even Abaddon's own men would be immune to this, however, as they were hit by the effects. The Sniper started rambling about bloody cats for some reason, while the Heavy bellowed at something in Russian (something about robots, maybe? Abaddon didn't speak Russian).
Whatever the Pyro saw, it must have been terrifying as he started waving his flamethrower around, spraying fire in every direction as the whole battlefield was set ablaze. Whether you were friend or foe, you were most likely on fire at this point.
Eyesmon: -Diffuse Janengan: 1/2 -Nightmare Reverie: Eyesmon's many eyes begin to glow as their pupils take on a swirling shape, casting a hex on everyone in a 30m radius. For three turns, EVERYBODY caught within the radius of this move is subject to horrific hallucinations that only they are able to see, taking a noticeable hit to their accuracy and overall sanity for that duration (AKA a 25% accuracy debuff plus gradual damage over time for the duration of the curse). 4 post cooldown. (Duration: 0/3)
Jackal Unit: -Scorched Earth: Pyro goes nuts with his flamethrower, setting everything in a 50m. radius on fire. Those burned by the flames take damage over three turns. 5 post CD. (0/5)

Hotaru took the opportunity to use her chair to fly higher up into the sky. Considering it was nighttime it wasn't likely that she would be noticed. You know, unless some alien shadow monster drove a bunch of people mad and decided to torch nearly 2 whole acres of land.
In Shibuya. One of the most crowded places in all of Japan, if not the world.
Yeah... As her Xros Loader let out a familiar light of Digivolution and she watched her partners get swallowed up in flames, Hotaru realized she gonna have to do something about that. She grabbed a handful of cards, thinking there was one that could do something about this, until she found just the one. "Terabyte Torrent, huh...? Well... here goes nothing..." She swiped the card through without preamble, or posing, or anything, because that was just how Hotaru rolled. Hopefully this would help reduce any long-term damage from the pyromaniac Sealsdramon.
But she had no idea exactly how potent these waters were going to be. Within seconds, the titular torrent came down as if a portal to the water dimension just opened up in the sky. Needless to say, any fires that stuck around were going to get drowned out as the incoming flood hit... probably something that was gonna do about as much long term damage as the fire itself, admittedly.
And what was even worse was that Hotaru was completely soaked now. And now she would likely have to explain to her folks why her favorite jammies were completely drenched.
But back on the ground, the Jackal Unit would likely have trouble moving around at the moment, considering the fact that they were slowly going insane and the whole flood. Hotaru figured that could possibly keep them busy. And if they tried to pull a stunt like that again, then she'd have to punish them.
But as for her partners, and probably Abaddon himself, they wouldn't have much trouble in the sudden torrential downpour. She watched as Lilimon and... Oh hey, look at that! Meicoomon and Misaki Digixros'd into Meicrackmon! That must have been why Hotaru's Loader was shining a little bit ago. Regardless, the floral fairy and the feline fatale took to the air, seemingly unperturbed by whatever the creepy Eyesmon did to the group.
In fact, the pair had some ideas of their own. "You are not the only one who can do bad things to people!" Lilimon warned, spinning around and fluttering about, spreading a flurry of sparkling light over the Eyesmon. If he didn't do anything to stop it, he would find himself feeling... a lot weaker. But that wasn't all, for even more sparkles began to fly over towards her large purple dragon comrade.
And despite all that surging strength, the Megidramon let out a horrid roar as it brandished its sharp claws... and tore into its own chest. Whatever fear she was experiencing... Well. It might be more than a little alarming.
But the Meicrackmon didn't pay their struggling comrade any mind, instead flying directly towards the Eyesmon, looking battered and bruised thanks to damage sustained from their previous encounters, and began to speak in a gently whisper that could nonetheless be heard clearly and concisely. "Since you asked first, you should have to share, too," The Meicrackmon's eyes began to change slightly, as slits began to cover their body, then opened up to reveal a countless number of eyes swirling around in the same hypnotic pattern. "So how about you tell us what it is you're afraid of?"
Present: Meicrackmon (X3) Lilimon (X3) Amethyst (Super Evo) Hotaru Inoue
Reward: Posts
Combat Log: - Burns suck and everyone takes damage from the Pyro's AoE.
- Not wanting to cause a massive scene in the middle of a crowded city, Hotaru slashes the D-Arc Card Terabyte Torrent in order to deal with Pyro's... pyromania. Unfortunately, the resulting flood may or may not have been more than she had expected.
- Arisa's RU-X, Passionate Heart, makes Lilimon immune to Abaddon's Nightmare Reverie. Taking advantage of this, she decides to use her Sparkle Siphon skill to weaken Abaddon's strength, and give extra power to Amethyst. In addition, Kirara's RU-X, Neon ★, boosts Amethysts attack strength even further. - Amethyst is unfortunately not so lucky. Seeing as it'd suck if Abaddon's scaryness attack was completely ineffectual, instead of trying to attack this turn Ame decides to spend the turn ripping into her chest, effectively dealing basic attack damage to herself. In short, Amethyst hit herself in confusion! And considering Amethyst as received both Sparkle Siphon and Neon ★'s power boosts... ouchies. - Despite being banged up, Misaki and Meicoomon DigiXros into Meicrackmon X3. Using their Dupli-cat ability, they copy Lilimon's Passionate Heart Passive, effectively giving immunity as well. And deciding to give Abaddon a taste of his own medicine, they decide to copy his ability, Nightmare Reverie!
Relevant Abilities:DS-30 Card Name: Terabyte Torrent Type: Environment Rank: Platinum Duration: 3 Post Effect: The skies pour open, practically flooding the world down below. Rookies will find themselves having to swim through the water, and even Champions will be faced with heavy currents to slog through. Water based moves are strongly boosted in power.
[RUX][Passive][Arisa] Passionate Heart - This Digimon has such a force of personality that others aren't able to force their will upon it. It's unaffected by illusions and other effects that would alter its mental state.
[RUX][Passive][Kirara] Neon ★ - The user emits a dazzling neon radiance that encourages its allies. This light bolsters the power of any one ally (within a level-appropriate distance) of its choosing by 50%. However, being so cheery and helpful has its drawbacks, and the user is 20% less evasive as a result.
2. [Active] Sparkle Siphon - Lilimon flitters about the air, sprinkling down sparkling fairy dust over one enemy. That enemy’s abilities become half as potent, while an ally, which can include Lilimon herself, gains a 50% power boost. Duration: 3 Posts Cooldown: 5 Posts
[Passive] 5. Dupli-Cat - The user copies a Passive Ability that the user has seen or is vaguely aware of, or a move in it's Avgrundens Bibliotekarie. The copied passive cannot be changed for at least 3 posts, and cannot copy an ability that's already in effect. Cannot copy OPT's.

After the Pyro ended up going... well, pyro, Abaddon was both annoyed and glad that the kid in the wheelchair doused the raging fire. One one hand, he and his men were no longer on fire, and on the other hand, their foes weren't either. Oh, and there's now a flood because of that. Luckily, Abaddon was able to float. Putting the natural disaster aside, Abaddon was glad to see the Megidramon tearing itself apart from the effects of the Nightmare Reverie, although the other 2 Digimon weren't affected for some reason. He growled in frustration as he scraped his claws along the wall of the warehouse, only to freeze as the Lillimon sapped away part of his strength. "Well, well. I guess I underestimated the three of you. But this won't be enough to... stop..." Abaddon growled out, trailing off when he saw the Meicrackmon somehow copy his own Nightmare Reverie and use it on him. "...oooh, s**t."The Eyesmon scrabbled backward as the hallucination started to take effect. What did a monster like Abaddon fear, you ask? Just another monster that nearly killed him in the past. "No... no, I know you're not real!" Abaddon exclaimed in panic, staring at the image of OmniShoutmon that was now overlaid over the Meicrackmon that caused the hallucinations. Abaddon's numerous eyes widened as a sudden thought struck him, causing his panic to shift into a psychotic grin and maniacal laughter. "Ahahaha! No, you're not really OmniShoutmon, but you have reminded me of just why I'm doing this in the first place. Killing you while you're wearing his face will feel almost as good as killing the real thing! Needle Storm!"Abaddon spat a black orb into the sky, which exploded into a rain of needles that descended upon everything nearby, the Eyesmon not even caring if he hit his own men in the process. Speaking of the 3 Jackal Unit soldiers in the fight, the Heavy and Pyro were currently busy trying to fight the Lillymon with their fists and the empty flamethrower, while the Sniper took potshots at Meicrackmon with a small handgun (these are all basic attacks). They were so caught up in their hallucinations and foes that they barely even noticed as their boss's attack turned them into pincushions. "I ain't letting another bloody cat maul me to death today!" The Sniper called out from the rooftops as he started pulling one of the black needles out of his shoulder. "Vhat is even going on out here?!" The Medic cried out as he made his way outside, only to be blindsided by the carnage going on before pulling out several scalpels between his fingers. "You go one minute vithout me and it turns into complete Chaos! *Sigh* Vell, if you can't beat them, you might as vell join them." With that, the Medic officially joined the fight by throwing his scalpels at Lillimon.

Well, Meicrackmon wasn't sure who this OmniShoutmon was that Abaddon was scared off, but whoever it was, all it apparently did was piss him the heck off. Which was just fine for the grudge-holding former Meicoomon. In fact, they figured they could mess with the creep a little more. This rain was messing up their fur something fierce, and they made sure to fly so they don't have to swim through the sudden flood.
Along the way Meicrackmon thought they felt a bee sting the back of their neck or something. Probably just some crazy gunman or something. Or the basic attack from one-fifth of a champion merc. Honestly, not worth paying attention to considering there was this many-eyed asshole throwing needles everywhere. A few sunk into the cat Digimon as they flew in, but it didn't hurt nearly as badly as they thought.
"Yo." They announced as they got close, letting the pain of the recent attack fuel their spite more so than anything else. Pink feathers began to fall from their soaked fur, floating around the Eyesmon, then swirling around them in a soundless twister. "How about you try and do that big eye laser thing again? Unless you forgot?"
As for Lilimon... they weren't having a good time of it. Despite flying around somehow the Jackal Unit got a hold of them and started pummeling the poor purple flower fairy. And apparently a German one popped up and started chucking sharp objects, which was, in Lilimon's opinion, really rude and stuff. But instead of punishing the jerks that may or may not be trying to kill them, Lilimon decided to take flight and get away from them sticking her tongue out and slapping her behind as she did so. It was clear who the major threat was, and with the current flooding situation the champion squad wouldn't be able to catch up with them.
Apparently Meicrackmon was doing something fancy, so Lilimon decided to be fairly fancy as well. They lifted their arms up and conjured forth a web of glowing vines that would attempt to wrap up around the shadowy blob. Amorphous or not it would take him a while to get out of the vines, effectively immobilizing for like... if this were an rp forum or something... about 1 posting round.
The Megidramon was continuing to thrash about, almost as if it were trying to rip something out of its body, and Hotaru finally had enough. Judging from the reactions of his own goons, whatever the Eyesmon did caused them to freak out for whatever reason. The girl dove down with her flying chair, crashing right into the demon dragon's face.
"I don't know what your deal is," She began in a calm, yet chilling tone. "But you're going to get over it this instant. Instead of cowering from ghosts, show him that he should be scared of what's right in front of him," Hotaru gently rubbed where she had crashed into. The Megidramon's face felt like rough scales, spikes, and regret, but Hotaru didn't show it on her face.
She forced a gentle smile as she continued, "Rip out every last eye. Every tooth. Strip away all sense of power and control and reduce him to nothing a blind, sobbing, shadowy puddle, begging you for mercy. Instead of preying on his biggest fears, it's easier to become his biggest fear. Are you willing to do that?"
After a brief pause, the Megidramon opened its wide maw and let out a furious roar. A sphere of flame began to gather, as the air around them began to evaporate the pouring rain immediately around them. Hotaru intelligently decided to get out of the way, grasping her Digivice and another card as she did so, while Megidramon was covered in pretty blue sparkles once more.
"Digi-Modify. Elemental Shift," She said without gusto or flair, slashing the card as Megidramon let loose an intense beam of flames towards Abaddon. And yet, before they made impact, the data comprising the flames suddenly shifted, and turned into scalding hot water, amplified by the surrounding terrain.

Combat Log: - Amethyst, Lilimon, and Meicrackmon all get a few new puncture wounds from Abaddon's Needle Storm, though it's reduced by Lilimon's Sparkle Siphon. Also, Lilimon gets ganged up on pummeled by the equivalent of a group of toddlers, so that's honestly kind of embarrassing. Meicrackmon getting shot in the head is a minor annoyance at best, tbh. By far the least painful thing she's experienced today. - Lilimon flies away from the Jackal Unit so they can't bully her anymore and approaches Abaddon, aiming to immobilize and weaken his defenses with her Glitzy Grapple. If it works he'll also get a Seed Counter but that won't come into play for the time being. - Meicrackmon considers mauling the poor Sealsdramon to death, but instead focuses on the actual threat. She uses Misaki's Void Wing RU-X ability to remove Abaddon's Diffuse Janengan from his moveset for the remainder of combat. AoE's are getting kind of annoying so it's best to just get rid of the one that'll get used the most. - Hotaru tries her best to snap Amethyst out of her crazed stupor. It doesn't fully work as pep talks can't shorten the duration of enemy's named abilities, but Amethyst is still able to attack. For good measure, Hotaru uses the Elemental Shift D-Arc Card to shift all of Amethyst's elemental attacks into Water Element. - Amethyst is crazy yo, but also crazy pissed. She unloads her Megiddo Flame onto Abaddon because he's kind of a jerk. Thanks to Hotaru's Elemental Shift, the attack becomes water element, and is strongly boosted by Gigabyte Torrent's field effect. It's also boosted by Lilimon's passive, Lilimon's Sparkle Siphon skill, as well as Amethyst's own Reckless Abandon passive, making the total power boost *counts fingers on hand*... a lot.
