Lucky rushed through the sea of Digimon before him, trying to tune out the cacophony of murmurs that flooded his ears. A multicolored ocean of digimon. Obviously, this was a popular location today. Maybe holidays were a common occurrence in August. Great. He couldn’t miss his ride, he just couldn’t.
That may be a slight overreaction.
It certainly wasn’t that urgent and Lucky was practically at the terminal anyway. But he still wanted to get through as soon as possible. The Gaomon was not usually this restless, but today he was taking the Trailmon to his home village, which would get him excited enough, but today wasn’t a normal visit.
The event was a village-wide feast that celebrated the old Garurumon’s, Rai, protection. It was like his birthday, if it didn’t fall on the day he was born. The village was embraced by the the scent of grilled meat and spices. Mixed with intoxicating ecstasy. Rai had divulged most of the stories Lucky remembered from him during the event, but this days Lucky has his own stories. The thought of getting to see everyone gathering together always filled the Gaomon with loving warmth.
He finally ran onto the terminal, as the Trailmon came into view. He jumped as the Trailmon screeched to a halt, his lingering thoughts about his destination broken by the piercing sound. Sparks leaped out from under the Trailmon’s wheels, only them to simper down when the Trailmon came to a complete stop. Lucky maneuvered through the crowd of waiting Digimon towards the Trailmon. When he knew they could easily see him, he excitedly waved at them. ”Hi Trailmon, been to any good places lately?”
This was a common ritual they when through anytime he when to the terminal. It was an agreement between them that Lucky wouldn’t to say too much to him or he spiral out into a lengthy conversation that will hold everyone up. He wasn’t really in the mood to have a conversation with the Trailmon anyway.
”No, just a couple villages.”
“How unfortunately, I’m not leading you to anywhere new. I’m planning to go to Yew Village,” Lucky said as he ran into the Trailmon carriage with the rest of the already moving crowd. When he got inside the spacious Trailmon carriage to take the nearest window seat and a nervous looking Meicoonmon soon sat next to him. They were fidgeting with a flat tassel of fur.
”This is your first time on a Trailmon?” It was normal for Digimon to be nervous about going on the Trailmon. Seeing the never-ending tracks was especially nerve-wracking for some. Through personally for the Gaomon, how long the tracks were more amazing then anything. It was a promise of never-ending adventure. Then again, it was common for curiosity to take top priority when he encountered anything unusual.
The Salamon remained entranced in their rushing thoughts.
Lucky leaned closer to the Meicoonmon and started to talk to them in a raised voice. “You know? Talking is good remedy. It takes your mind off things.”
”What!” The nervous Digimon did a noticeable hop before giving him a befuddled look.
“Are you ok!” Lucky hoped didn’t think he was angry at the lack of an answer before. He wasn’t intend to make them more nervous. Maybe even to the point they were frightened by him. They were traveling! It seemed like a waste of time worrying about things.
“I’m fine. Just…excited. Why are even talking to me?” She said with a huff.
”I wanted to help with your nervousness, whatever it’s about. And the best way I knowing to do that: talking.” I’ll make the train ride feel shorter too if I’m not obsessing over my distinction. At least not alone in my head. Lucky put his gloved paw to his chest. “I’m Lucky.”
”Thanks for the concern.” The Meicoonmon had a small grin now. “But…” Her wandered to the window past Lucky, pondering, prompting Lucky to look out too. Fields and forests that are occasionally interrupted by pieces of civilization that rushed across the window. They she looked at Lucky again. “The Trailmon is not that new to me, I just don’t travel a lot. I guess it’s still a little worrying.”
”Well we have nothing to worry about.”
