"Like I said..." Zack spoke, firm but gentle with one hand reached out and his body leaned forward to catch the shark should she start to fall. He placed his hand against her body and pulled her in gently, letting her take in his warmth if she wanted to. He rocked slightly, his breathing steady, a calming white noise in her ear that mixed with the sound of rain. He had some experience when it came to calming a little girl's sudden fears. "I don't know how hard you hit your head. Don't try to force it. Come on, lean on me." He said, standing up and beginning to gingerly walk over to where the crimson orb sat in the center of a circle made entirely out of ash and charcoal.
"I don't..." Marigold crouched down. The motion was evidently too much for the energy she had used up. She grunted and almost toppled forward and her evolved form vanished in a flash of soft gold-white light and fluttering sparkles. She barely caught herself from face planting and hissed slightly in discomfort as she got herself to her feet. "I don't know, Levi...I really don't." She said, looking up at the rain as if the sky was going to part and make everything clear in a moment. They were of course not going to get that lucky.
Zack bent down, reaching for the orb and dusting the ash off of it until the reflection of his tired eyes could be seen in its ruby surface. He picked it up in one gloved hand and inspected it closely. He sighed and rolled his thumb over the glassy curve, smearing rain water on it into little droplets that warped the reflection.
"This is one of those things where I have a deep, sinking feeling that we're going to find out...one way or the other." Zack said, placing his hand on the top of Levi's head. Giving her what comfort he could offer. In the middle of the downpour with the devastation of the Fenixmon's attack scattered in every direction...it didn't seem like very much comfort at all.
