The little shark couldn’t help but beam in admiration and wonder at the “act” that the brightly colored phoenix proclaimed so proudly. Even more so, as a few sparks flew from the end of the long wooden staff, ending with a glimmering glass ball.
It wasn’t until Fenixmon caught sight of Zack’s polite, but, standoffish clap. Her beak fell slightly, and her plume seemed to droop. “That’s just… how we… talk at KAOS Academy. It’s how we’re taught to be. We stand out and stand tall, so we can share our gifts to…” She cut herself off harshly as if her own words were washing over her. Her head tilted, much like Levi did.
Meanwhile, the little shark stepped forward, duck-footedly towards the old man who had not made a move from the log he was perched on. In-fact he had not made a move during the entirety of Fenixmon’s speech or even flinched as she caused sparks to appear. Levi looked up into the bushy beard but the crouched creature, once again, did not move. “Uh, is okay.”
Without responding and with in almost robotic manner, he bent down and began to fiddle with a pitch black stone and the wood cut into a circle. Small embers flickering as they touched, but clearly not enough to light the fire. Fenixmon wandered over and took the stone and bent down. A few clicks of stone and wood later and a bright orange flame erupted. Lighting up the surrounding darkness somewhat, although, it caused dancing shadows of the bony branches of the older trees to race all around them.
Taking a seat on a log and clearly without noticing anything odd from the behavior of her headmaster, Hinoka began to speak brightly and energetically. “Jijimon’s been the Headmaster of KAOS Academy for longer than anyone can remember. Longest sitting head in the history of the school and a wiz at wizardry.”
Levi was following her words with rapped attention, nodding every so often. As did the Goblimon who were still crouched in the cage, their faces pushes against the bars and greedy looks on their faces. “Even after everything that happened, still let me graduate!”

Zack bowed his head slightly, holding up his hands in a gesture of placation, he didn't want Fenixmon to think that she was in trouble just for talking. Just that he was still here and still keeping watch. Even if he wasn't under any illusions that HE was the one people were afraid of. The chitinous gargoyle hunched over the edge of the cage, making its sturdy wood and metal construction creak with every shift of her weight is what people were actually worried about when he walked in and Marigold still kept a distance to everything going on. She didn't assume hostility but she also wanted to be able to come in hard and fast if something went wrong.
"Nice to meet you sir, never quite wrapped my head around the function of "magic" from a Digimon's perspective considering EVERY Digimon does impossible things through the storage and manipulation of data. I admit, thought that I am quite the layman compared to a regular Dr. Strange such as yourself." Zack said, stepping forward into the warmth of the fire's flickering light and he sat down where it seemed politest to do so. "Seems we've reached a natural stopping point, we've been going for most of a day and I..." He leaned back, cupping his hand over his visor and making a slight grunting sound. "...can never tell when the sun is going to go down in the Digital World anyway so I don't know why I bothered to check." He stood up and faced the "driver" who had been lugging the carriage on his shoulders. "Hey buddy! We got any provisions? We'll get that weight off your back and let you stretch for a second!" He said before turning slightly up to look at his daughter in the air. "Marigold, we have company, come be polite." He said like he was softly directing the behavior of a child rather than an insectoid titan that had at least four feet of height on him and god knows how much weight.
Her demeanor changed instantly at his words and she fluttered down beside the group, humming a little hum with a surprisingly light and airy feminine voice.
"Hey folks." Marigold purred with a sigh as she dropped onto her butt in the dirt.

As soon as everyone had sat down around the fire, ready to rest for the evening. As the darkened sky, lit by stars. Only barely visible through the thick canopy of leaves overhead, sending a small amount of light down into the clearing. The rest was barely lit by the flicking orange flames, matching the plume of the phoenix who was standing next to Jijimon. Talking animatedly to no-one in particular. Although, the little shark was nodding her head every so often and her eyes were large, wide and not blinking.
“I’ve got many stories to tell about my time at KAOS. I’m sure the ol’ Headmaster can tell you even more,” Fenixmon said, finally taking a seat. Raising a feathered hand, she placed it on the shoulder of the old man. "Right?"
It was the very moment where Fenixmon’s hand touched the robe, something strange happened. The body of Jijimon flickered; like a glitch in a video game. Vanishing for a second and then reappearing, once more. His head turned robotically to look up at the phoenix, a hand emerging from the thin ragged clothing he wore and clutched at her wrist with a vice-like grip.
“I DoN’T...I DoN’T ThInK So. I OnLy hAvE OnE StOrY To tElL… tHe eNd oF FeNiXmOn aNd hEr pEsKy fRiEnDs.”
The voice came out horribly contorted and almost demonic. Followed by a laugh that made Levi shiver down to her very soul.
"TrAiToR"
She was trying to pull her arm free, but the old man’s grip was too tight. Levi moved in to try and help but the not-Jijimon raised his free hand. The hand warped from fingers and hand to something like a gun barrel with odd metal bits attached.
“dOnT InTeRfErE!”
The was a blinding blast of bright blue energy and before anyone could move, Levi shot backwards.
Her tiny body crashed into the cage and she slumped to the ground. Motionless. All the caged Goblimon jeered and laughed. The not-Jijimon lifted Fenixmon up with ease, pulling her away from the flickering flames towards the edge of the clearing.
“I HaVe a fEw fRiEnDs fOr yOu tO PlAy wItH.”
With the sound of roots being ripped up and earth being thrown. Monsters emerged from the shadows. Hardened wooden skin, except for a mouth like a carved pumpkin. Tree stumps with attitude. The Woodmon surrounded the remaining group. Throwing their arms up into the air and readying to attack.

The second something felt wrong both Zack and Marigold tensed and Marigold started to half rise from her sitting position. She cursed to herself, admonishing inside her mind how she had ever gotten misled by this obvious trap her wings snapped outward and she buzzed off the ground sending small plumes of dust circling the ground around her. Zack rolled backward the moment the robot duplicate started to shout, pressing his hands into the ground and launching up in a rolling back flip that got him on his feet and facing the enemy as it grabbed hold of the phoenix and launched Levi through the air.
"Levi!" Zack turned, his head locked on the spot where the little shark lay and his teeth ground together in an animal snarl that he directed at the old man machine.
"Touch the shark and I'm turning each and every one of you into green sashimi." Marigold barked without looking at the goblins, there was a promise in her voice. If they forgot who was in charge now during the chaos then she WOULD swoop back around and remind them.
"Smash and grab. Cover me, I'm going to see what kind of annoyance I can be." Zack said, vaulting the lump he had been sitting on and taking off at a sprint toward the machine holding Fenixmon. He picked up at much speed during his run as he could get and launched himself in a flying dive toward the machine, holding out both of his feet, his hard light boot appearing around his right foot as he SLAMMED into the false Jijimon's wrist with both heels. He wasn't able to actually fight Digimon, but hopefully he could get this one to loosen its grip for a second enough for the firebird to pull themselves free or at least slow down his retreat. "Fenixmon unless you wanna go where this bastard has in mind. Fight like hell." He said, landing in a squat, ready to roll away from any counter attack back under the robot's guard.
"MUSHI CHANGE!" Marigold shouted and her body flashed with ruby light, the sound of exoskeleton cracking under the strain of two massive horns appearing out of her shoulder armor and one from her forehead. Her lower helmet snapping shut to cover her mouth and nose, the image of a hulking Hercules beetle flashing over the ruby baubles of her armor as she grew several inches in size from every angle, blades sprouting from her now massive gauntlets. "Who needs pruning first!" She slammed her fists together creating a thumping shockwave, her voice made deep and challenging by the closing mask.
1. Mushi Change!: Mushi Change allows Marigold to transform her JewelBeemon body in into one of three different forms. The mechanism by which this occurs begins with a call of "Mushi Change" and holding her right arm across her chest with one of the jewels of the forearms facing out. This jewel "blinks" revealing one of the three symbols, a Bee, a Hercules Beetle and a Grasshopper. The stat and weapon changes of the forms are listed below (One Per Thread, Passive)
b. Hercules Beetle Form: The Hercules Beetle Form is a form much more concerned with strength and defense than with agility or grace. The mouth piece of her exoskeleton closes and two massive "horns" sprout from her shoulders. The crimson tipped spear she carries is reabsorbed into her body, the energy and data being put into extra armor and making her gauntlet blades sharper and stronger. This form loses the use of the staff, loses twenty percent of it's speed and agility for a fifty percent increase in strength and defense.

A “few friends” seemed to mean, a several dozen at least. More of these strange wooden creatures rushed from the inky darkness of the forest into the clearing. Some of them, pulling with them roots and branches as if they had planted themselves in the fertile earth. Perhaps, while waiting for them.
They seemed not to be very smart, as they rushed blindly towards Marigold. Perhaps the greater numbers would give them an advantage against her clear strength. Each of Woodmon raised club-like arms. As if they were ready to thwack every part of her they could each. They only made weird creaking noises, like extremely ugly puppets.
Meanwhile, over by the campfire. Fenixmon was being lifted into the air by the throat.
"L-L-Let me go."
A clawed hand cutting of her circulation. She spluttered for air as she tried to move, push, kick and bite any part of this odd creature that had her in a tight hold. Maniacal laugher ringing out, horribly through the clearing—which caused the Goblimon, still locked in their cage to bang their bone clubs on the bars.
Even the poor Monochromon was being overrun by the Woodmon. They pummeled his rock-like skin and caused him to roar and buck in attempt to push them away. Swatting at them with the long horn, but numbers were greater. The cage was rocking back and forth as the Monochromon bucked. His flat feet stomping against the ground.
The creature fell back, slightly as a foot hit its wrist. Breaking his grip for a single second, Fenixmon rolled in mid-air, falling into a heap at the foot of the floating Jijimon. "Ouch, that really hurt."
“pItIfUl hUmAn. YoU'Ll eNd uP LiKe tHaT FoOlIsH ShArK.”
It let out another manic laugh and then fell back to the ground, alongside the human and the phoenix. “mAyBe yOu'd pReFeR To bE DeLeTeD By a mOrE FaMiLiAr fAcE.”
The old man crumpled to the ground, body falling away like a shed skin. The robe receding into the body and all the hair vanished. Metal shot out from the chest into the barrel of a pistol. Yellow eyes against the dark skin. A cowboy hat perched on his head. “Yee-haw, how about now. Remember me? I’ve been stringin’ ya’ll along since Rosewood. My comrades weren’t able to get the job done. But I will. Goodbye ya’ll.”
The voice was somewhere between maniac and southern wonder as he spoke a menacing line. His barrel pointed directly at Zack.
“hOw'zA 'bOuT ThE TaStE Of dEpUtYmOn's iRoNiCaLlY NaMeD, jUsTiCe bLaStEr!”

"Give me your best shot, boys." Marigold said, ratcheting her head to her left, then her right, sending thumping bassy crackles down the bones of her neck as she planted her feet in the sodden ground and bit down on her back teeth to brace for impact. She held up her gauntlets as the wave of plant digimon crashed over her like an oncoming tide, each of them individually too weak to get past or under her exoskeletal defenses. She waited for them to crowd one another, pushing into a night tight clutch around her body before her hand SHOT out and grabbed on of the Woodmon by the wrist. She kicked off the ground and her wings snapped outward, carrying her above the clump of wooden attackers. She used her other hand to grab the Woodmon by the waist and hoist him up by the two points of contact.
"SHOT CLAW" She snarled, pouring her digital energy into the skin and body of the attacker she was holding and throwing him straight down with as much force as her muscles and inertia could muster, sending him bodily crashing into his tightly packed comrades, a deafening roar of impact and a cloud of muddy dust kicked up in every direction by the monster's crater creating impact.
"If you have seriously hurt a single scale on Levi's head, little man I will personally spin your head around so fast you'll be seeing every star from here to saturn." Zack said, his eyes wary and locked onto the old man as his unsettling voice reached out into the night. Zack wasn't scared. He never was on the outside. On the inside his heart was thundering a mile a minute like the hooves of a racehorse being chased. On the outside though he just glared at the old man and didn't even flinch when the change occurred. "Cops..." He muttered to himself, only further imprinting his distrust of lawmen into his brain.
He spun forward as the shot cracked past him, over his shoulder and above his head. Pushing all of his weight forward into a wide roll and sticking out his foot at the apex, leaving his hard light heel sailing down like the swinging of an axe handle and landing right in the "nose" of the black faced gunslinger. It was an awkward motion when Zack pushed off the kick and rolled back onto his hands and feet into a crab walk position, dropping onto his back and rolling sideways to get some distance between him and the cackling doppleganger. Grunting slightly as he pushed back up into a slight squat.
Shot Claw!: Marigold either tosses her spear like a javelin or picks up a large object in her environment like a boulder or a table and tosses it overhead, creating a large, arcing projectile for her opponent to dodge. It is her best sheild breaking option but is best saved for the beginning of a fight because of the requirement of charging her projection with energy. The range it provides is often staggering, allowing her to sometimes gain a first hit before the enemy realizes she's there. This is a shield breaking move. (Post 1/4)

A monster who could take the shape of other creatures; a dangerous being… indeed. They needed to do something and fast. Fenixmon glanced over to Levi who was still sprawled flat, so small like a doll. Her usually bright eyes closed. While she was on the ground at the feet of the madman, Zack was fighting with him, but as a human, there was only so much he could do. Marigold, the only one truly able to do something to help this situation was busy with an ever-growing army of Woodmon.
“Zack… There is something I can do, but, it’s risky,” Fenixmon muttered, her voice soft and low. She began to drag herself away from the Deputy who stood right behind her. “I’m sure it’d do the trick though, but do you trust me?”
But before she could make it an inch further, both of Deputymon’s hand guns were pointed directly at her chest. Although he has no visible features on his flat, blackened face – outside of the eyes which shimmered brightest yellow – there was an immediate sense of manic danger in the blank features.
“uH, uH, uH. i dOn't ThInK sO. yOu'rE AlL MiNe nOw aNd i'm gOiNg tO TaKe mY TiMe, RiPpInG BoTh oF YoU To pIeCeS. tHeN, i'lL DeAl wItH YoUr uPpItY FrIeNd aNd tHaT FiSh fReAk.”
His boot fell onto her face, crushing it. Fenixmon screamed out in pain as the not-Deputymon began to laugh his cold, merciless laugh. “tHiS Is vErY FuN. i'vE NoT BeEn aBlE To dO ThIs fOr a lOnG TiMe.”
“T-this?” The phoenix muttered, as she received a second stomp. This time to the stomach which winded her completely.
“ThErE Is nOtHiNg mOrE SaTiSfYiNg tHaN DeStRoYiNg sOmEoNe wHo iS FuLl oF SeLf cOnFiDeNcE.”
“Trust... me, you’ll regret it...if you…do,” Fenixmon muttered, trying to find Zack in the darkness.
Meanwhile on the other side of the clearing, the Woodmon were charging towards Marigold. Seemingly they were so stupid, they lacked the basic knowledge and insight to see that their attacks from their wooden club arms was doing nothing to the heightened defensive powers by the form she had taken. But they were also stupid enough to continue trying, no matter what happened. Even if it led to them all being deleted. The rest watched as one was lifted up into the air and thrown back down like a living tree missile.
Followed by an immense and earthshaking rattle as remains of wood and branches were left scattered across in a deep crater. A few were still intact and left upside down, just didn’t want to continue, or couldn’t. The Woodmon that were still emerging from the forest backed up into the darkness. Not wanting to deal with whatever this monster was.
But before they got too far, they were thrown back into the clearing before hitting the floor and bursting into data. Vines emerged from the ground, wrapping around the trees and pushing them aside with ease as it emerged onto the scene. A giant flower monster. Gaping jaw, wide open. Purple plumage prominent. A body of twisting vines that ended with four smaller flowers. Blossomon let out an aggressive roar as it threw out a mass of vines in the direction of Marigold.

"Do I trust you to help another person in distress, despite having no evidence that it's in your nature. Knowing you have every reason to bail and try and save your own skin. AND that there's nothing I can do about it in this case because I have zero better options?" Zack said, huffing and grunting as he slammed his full weight into the gunslinging doppleganger with his shoulder, trying to give Fenixmon some room to move and catch their breath.
For a moment, their eyes met. Even behind the visor it was like Zack was looking into her soul. The battle around them froze and for a moment they were just two people. Backs up against the wall, ears ringing with the chaos of combat and Zack narrowed it down to one single question at the heart of the issue.
"You're asking me if I trust you to do the right thing?" He said, reaching out and grabbing firm hold of Fenixmon's hand, the grin behind his mask evident in his voice. "Maam, you should know that I trust EVERYONE to do the right thing." He helped her to her feet but there was a twinkle of dangerous mischief in his eyes. "Now forgive me when I say: Brace for impact. And whatever you're about to do had better work." He said and in an instant he dropped backward, rolling onto his butt and then moving the motion up his spine so he rolled along the ground in a curving arch that used his body weight for leverage, hoisting the phoenix into the air and sending her soaring over top of him through the air directly at the shape changing villain that had caught them off guard.
It had better work alright, if it didn't, he'd be flat on his back with no leverage and at least several seconds before he could find his feet again.
"And dad said...breaking my toys...was counterproductive..." Marigold said, her chest heaving and shuddering as she panted. Her eyes flicking back and forth as the dust swirled around her, covering a lot of the approaches that the plant monsters could be using to sneak up on her. Little did she know her problems were about to get a whole lot worse.
She hopped to one side to avoid the crunchy landing of a Woodmon who burst into the unmistakable bright crackle of data on impact. Spinning to face the direction the creature had been tossed from, Marigold choked as a gaggle of vines wrapped around her midsection, hoisting her heft weight up over the edge of the dust cover and letting her get a look at her opponent. Bigger than the Woodmon and roaring like a kaiju as she squirmed in its hold.
"Oh you have GOT to be kidding me! Who busted out the Miracle Gro in the monster factory?!" She snarled, pushing down on the vines around her center of mass, trying to ignore the slight increase in breathing difficulty.

Fenixmon couldn’t help but smirk at Zack’s words. This odd trust in people was something she had never experienced herself. Especially since leaving school. “You’re a dork, y’know.”
But, it did feel nice to actually have friends for once. Her eyes moved over the prone and fallen shark, still crumpled at the feet of the cage. Then to Marigold who was busy fighting the army of Woodmon and whatever else had emerged from the forest.
“What do you mean, brace for impaaaaaa--” Fenixmon’s words were cut off as she was picked up by the young hero and thrown right into the shape-changing monster. The not-Deputymon fell backwards, clearly surprised by this most odd style of attack.
Beating her wings let Fenixmon flutter over his head, and roll into the dust. “Ouch, that really hurt. Warn me next time! Jeez!” She said, her eyes rolling in her head. “This... thing I can do… it takes me a while to charge it. You’ll need to keep him busy for a few minutes, okay?”
With that said, Fenixmon pushed her staff down into the ground, where it stood resolutely to attention. The red orb began to shimmer, glitter and glow. Odd pulses of light falling from it, like a lit firework. “Let’s do this.”
Her entire body began to glow. First, ghostly white before changing to a pale canary yellow. Slowly growing in size, like a flickering flame around her entire body. Two concentric circle appear around her feet. Symbols of light, spinning around the inner circle.
“Also, you might want to run, I’m not sure of the impact range. Take the shark, ride the dinosaur and get out of here. I’ll deal with this guy! Don’t worry about me”
“YoU LiTtLe bRaT. i’lL DeStRoY AlL Of yOu!” The changing monster said as it rose back to its feet and once more aimed his pistol body at Zack.
Meanwhile, the Blossomon was continuing its rampage. A blind and terrifying rage as the vines swept across and continued to tie themselves around the struggling bug. Long thin thorns emerging from all down the vines body. As it continued to roar with intense anger at the loss of the Woodmon.
The heads of the smaller flowers fell away and before they hit the ground flew up into the air. Spinning around like tiny shurikens, aiming to slash at any place that was left open and not wrapped in vines.

"A dork is a regular person who indulges in hopeless optimism." Zack said, pushing himself to his feet in a squat with one hand reached down to brace his weight against the floor. Grey clay laden dust clung in prints and smears against the shimmering skin of a his costume. The light always seemed to catch him in such a way that sent a pleasing shimmer through the material of his visor. "I'm that wonderful combination of stupid, insane and lucky that gives me the title of superhero." He said, lowering his head as the firebird asked him for one thing to turn the bad guy's plan upside down. A distraction. And Zack was VERY distracting.
"You remind me of my kid's mother." Zack said, waiting for the deputy doppelganger to close the distance between them, reaching out and grabbing hold of the gun head with both hands. Digimon or not, he had weight, leverage and experience against the little beast. He wrenched his grip upwards, pointing the barrel over his right shoulder so that any discharge would slam through the canopy somewhere on his upper right. "I would remind you that we can get more information from a bad guy who is NOT a pile of ash. Plus I don't want a dead guy on my conscience even if he is a mouthy little prick." He said, wrestling with the mechanical marauder at close range so he couldn't bring his more powerful attacks to bear, having to tumble back and forth with the hero at arm's reach.
"Alright..." Marigold snarled as she held up her arms, grunting as sharp petal shurikens dug little scratches and grooves in the armor of her lower arms though she managed to keep them out of the softer parts of her face due to her arm plates and the mask covering her mouth and nose.
"SPIKE BUSTER!" She interlocked her fingers and brought both of her arms down in a hammer swing on the massive vine tendril holding her aloft. There was the whip crack of a small sonic boom as razor sharp energy shot outward from the blades at the end of her gauntlets, slicing through the beast's thick appendage and sending Marigold dropping onto her feet in the muck and mire. "You think you get to take pot shots at me because you landed one sucker punch? Now? Now I'm MAD" She said, squaring up with the flower beast, seeing who would flinch first.
Spike Buster!: Marigold swings either the arm blades of her gauntlets or the head of her spear in a sharp, cracking motion that creates a boom of energy toward the target. it is her most consistent attack that is able to be given off at a decent, though still close quarter ranger with a practiced, easy to commit motion. 0/0

The Blossomon roared again, the vines tightened as it attempted to squeeze the life out of Marigold. Thin but long thorns attempting to press into her as the reattached heads of the flowers bit down onto her with fanged teeth. But, Marigold hit back, her strike knocking the oversized monster back as it roared with pain. The main head thrown back as it let out a furious moan of pain and a roar of anger. The vines began to loosen as they were sliced though. It toppled and fell down, releasing Marigold but it continued to roar. The remaining vines and the flower heads continuing to move towards the insectoid warrior.
Meanwhile on the other side of the clearing. Fenixmon’s smile was evident even though the twisting, swirling lights emanating through her body. Lighting up every single feather, from their usual orange to shimmering gold. Her eyes too, seemed to be sparkling. Although, this was no due to the magic building, and more because she had to chance to use this most dangerous of abilities to its fullest extent.
The staff that stood before her was glittering just as brightly. Red shimmers issuing from the jewel hanging between the wood, like drops of rain down onto the magic circle at her feet. “Last warning, hero boy. You better take the shark, the dinosaur and the goblin cage to a safe distance, unless you wanna be riding the waves of magic too. No promises what it’s gonna do to our uppity friend though.” Her smirk broadening ever so much more as she turned to look at Zack, then to Levi who was still lying unconscious at the foot of the cage. Tiny and curled up.
“Do me a favor? Tell the sha… tell Levi. I’m sorry for causing her to much trouble. You too, hero boy,” she winked at him and turned back to face the villain, who’s body shifted oddly between gun-shaped Deputy and the old man wrapped in rags.
She snatched up the staff and twirled it like a baton. It released a shimmer of bright rainbow, illuminating the entire clearing in glittering, bright lights.
“My name is Fenixmon. Graduate of the KAOS Academy of Wizardry; Arch Wizard and hero of all things good. Protector of this clearing and now it’s time I ended you.”
Pointing the staff directly at the oddly misshaped creature, which screamed something but it was lost over the sounds of pops and the sound of exploding fireworks. The monster moved forward, pouncing directly at the phoenix.
Behold all my arcane power that courses through my veins. Every essence of my being and all that I am. In this singular moment, I forsake all caution, forgo all restraint and offer my entire self to the ultimate explosion. Let the heavens themselves be torn asunder by the cataclysmic fury that is my magic.
E X P L O S I O N!
There was a moment of silence, peace. Nothing moved. The clearing; every single tree, the flowers, every one of the grass tufts and all the beads of dew stood still. Then, rippling out from an inner point just beyond her range of vision came a small ball of energy. Barely visible in the air until it burst outwards, releasing all the energy that had been built up in one single moment. Then came the true explosion. An explosion so big, it cratered the entire clearing floor. Mounds of earth was thrown asunder. Trees toppled with terrible, cracking noises as roots were torn from the ground.
Explosion [OPT Technique] Slamming her staff against the ground, Hinoka shouts a overly wordy, chuuni-style chant to the heavens. Zack's eyes opened impossibly wide, even under his visor he nodded his head and got up from his crouch on the floor and took off at a sprint in the direction of the goblin holding cart.
"Hey big guy!" Zack shouted through a cupped hand at the armor plated dinosaur that had been the carriage master, calling his attention. "Unless you want an instant suntan, I would start moving toward the treeline. FAST!" He said, banking on the rhino like digimon's ability to break away and push all his mass in one direction too fast and too hard for the wooden minions to stop. He would have prefered to keep the driver in sight in case anything violent followed him but it was either get everyone clear or deal with the aftermath. "MARIGOLD!" He hollered and her antennae perked up, turning away from her battle with the flower beast. "Minimum safe distance! That means EVERYBODY!" Zack said, sending up a glad little prayer that even if some of the Woodmon were vaporized they would drift back to the Village of Beginnings in their own sweet time and be given a second chance to make better choices. That is if the zombie like plants were even real living Digimon in the first place.
"@#$%" Marigold shouted above the din of battle, looking around her and grunting she leapt over three dozen yards with a single motion of her feet, ripping a massive, half dead tree out of the ground and holding the log sideways. She charged forward, bashing the massive improvised plow into the digimon in front of her, scooping up Woodmon in a massive font in front of her and moving to bash down Blossomon and shove her toward the edge of the clearing, using every ounce of strength she could manage. "Fire drill, ladies and gents. Everybody with a flammable ass, GET OUT!" She snarled, knowing it was probably useless to try and get the plants to see sense and stop fighting her but it was still her job to try.
Zack didn't hesitate, grabbing Levi and tossing her over his shoulder. He pushed the worrying limpness of her body out of his mind and shoved his shoulder against the carriage holding the goblins. the wheel axle started to squeak in indignant protest as Zack shoved with all his might against the weight of the digimon punks, praying to go that he remembered right them going up a slight incline to get to the clearing, meaning that with just a few more inches the cage would start rolling toward the treeline on its own. Just a few...more...inches!
When the box began to roll Zack jumped up and grabbed on, his breath knocked out by the jouncing and uncontrolled rush of the cart. Just as it was about to slam into a line of trunks he jumped free, rolling shoulder over shoulder, cupping Levi protectively against his chest and getting behind a warn down old rock...
Just as the entire world seemed to detonate.

For one second, there was absolute silence, as if time itself had halted. Then, many noises erupted around them. Blaring, echoing, screeching noises as everything began again. Screams, and footsteps quaking against the stabilizing remnants of the earth-shattering explosion.
Earth rained down, like tiny meteors landing in what once was, a clearing. Now, nothing more than a burned-out crater – several meters deep. Levi’s eyes sprang opened as she tried to figure out where she was and what was going on. Her memories felt cloudy, confused and oddly distant. Then, she began to struggle against whatever or whoever was holding her. Thinking of enemies, maybe the Ogremon had returned and grabbed her… or who knows what else.
“LET GO, LET GO, LET GO,” she cried, her large eyes contorted and the pupils now, thin like slits. Her tail thrashed against the hardened skin of the one who carried her and she bared her teeth as if to bite down. “Levi want go!”
Her mouth opened as flashes of what had happened returned to her. She couldn’t help it any more as she struggled worse than ever.
She dropped from the arms and rolled through the mud. Just as the rain began to pour. Torrents of it, pounded down through the canopy of leaves, over all who stood beyond the remnants of the explosion. Making the already dark clearing seem even darker than it once was. Slowly the shark’s head turned left to right. She caught sight of several Woodmon dragging an injured Blossomon between themselves with great difficulty. Vines wrapping over their trunk-like forms as it roared its displeasure. To the Monochromon who stood by the side of the treeline, panting. The end of the cage bent and contorted. All of the Goblimon within were upside down and thrown against one of the walls, apparently unconscious. Tongue lulling from the sides of their large mouths.
Finally to the crater which was wide and still smouldering against the torrential rain. Fenixmon as well, as the mysterious Digimon who could change shape had vanished completely. The only traces left was the red orb shimmering beneath the crust of dirt.

Zack barely had time to turn his head and try to hear the shark waking before her razor sharp ivory flashed and his human instincts took over. He gasped and shoved himself away from the shark, dropping her from his grasp into the mud and almost slamming his palm against his chest to keep his hand out of her mouth. He looked at her, stunned with the moment of violent adrenaline, looking at her with what might have been a single wisp of fear before it vanished. He pushed himself up to one knee and didn't get any closer to her.
"Levi? Levi, shhh. It's me alright..." Zack reached up, showing her his hands through the entire process of removing his mask, glassy blue eyes dulled by the sudden darkness thrown over the clearing by the passing rain cloud. "Try to calm down ok? I don't know how hard you hit your head. You could be aggravating a concussion right now." Zack said, setting his helmet softly in the mud and showing her his open palms. He didn't make any sudden movements until he saw her reaction. Waking up from unconsciousness was disorienting and often left you feeling like you had blacked out in the middle of something important so he spoke soft. And slow. And gave her time to get her head on straight.
"Enough." Marigold said to the flower digimon being dragged away. The insect heroine's back was visibly smoking where she had been caught in the heatwave at the explosion's edge, using her body to shield the plant digimon that she had scooped out to the edge of the clearing. "Just...enough." Marigold said, dropping the log she had used which basically disintegrated into splinters the moment her grip wasn't holding it together. "There's been more than enough violence today. Take your wounded and get lost. Now. Before I stop asking what my father would do..." Marigold said, shoulder sagging, hissing in pain a little through gritted teeth as she tried to ignore the singe marks all the way up her back. She turned to look at the scene Fenixmon had left behind, walking over as steadily as she could, still too dizzy and shellshocked to try flying in her heavy form.

Heavy droplets of rain pour down over them, piercing through the canopy of trees. Levi lifted herself up from the muddy track—her eyes wide and her pupils still sharp. Her teeth were still bared, glittering white against the darkness of the trail around them. Slowly, as Zack moved closer his hands raised. His helmet off and place in the mud at his side. Levi’s eyes turned back to their usual innocence wide pupil. The black sclera fading back to white.
Anger dispelled and faded from her tiny body and she sunk back into the mud. The chain jingling as it struck part of the hard, burned surface, left behind by the explosion. “Zack-friend? Levi sorry...very sorry,” she moved closer to him and placed her fin onto his arm. Tears falling from her eyes and down onto the ground.
Eventually, once the little shark had got herself back together, although still teary eyed, she tilted her head from side to side, trying her hardest to understand what was going on. Finally, her large yellow eyes focused on Zack’s face. “Levi confused…” she admitted, placing a fin against the bump that was slowly forming atop her head and feeling it. “Levi big confuse, what happen?”
Her eyes turned to look at the edge of the woods where Marigold was. “Oh well, we are SO outta here! HEAVE HO, HEAVE HO. Come on, put ya twigs into it, ya bunch-a-lazy birchs!”
Thankfully, the Woodmon decided to take Marigold’s advice at once, pulling with even greater force at the Blossomon vines which were burned or severed. Soon enough, they had vanished back into the dark forest and out of sight at once.
Levi slowly and dizzily—wobbling from side-to-side—followed Marigold to the crater. She peered down into it, her eyes catching the glittering red orb hanging from the staff. The rain washing away the soot that had landed on it. There was no sign of either of the two. “Levi want know. Where Fenixmon iz? What happen?” Her head tilted a little; a look of terror on her face.
