Caturamon had to hand it to these so called heroes. They weren't the brightest, but they were brave. For that, he might just let them get reborn. The digimon, anyway. The humans were destined to perish. As he turned his head to the tomboy who was throwing obscenities at him, and with the dark one trying to gain control of her anger, Caturamon laughed and was about to speak. Just before all of them attacked at once and attempted to rescue the hostage.
They were fast, more so to the one who leapt high into the air. Faster than what the dog Deva could muster to dodge. But, he did have one saving quality;
The demon sword.
This mythical blade was beyond anything even a Super Mega could wield, and it itself was alive. It could think for itself, make choices for the Deva and even kill him if it pleased. And being sentient came with a gift and a curse; Being scared of death. This is not to say the blade could shatter, in fact it just might be easier to pull Yggdrasil from the roots, as the human mythology goes. But rather, This blade was the previous wielder. When the wielder dies, he is absorbed into the sword, and the previous one is cycled through like all the rest. Thus, a form of death.
Being alive also usually came with fears, emotions, reason. Not with this sword. Not with it's darkness. The blade corrupted any who wielded it, and the previous user only desires one thing:
Power.
In truth, it was the source of Caturamon's power, making him much stronger, faster and resilient than any digimon of his level. And with the death of thousands under the sword, it was seemingly a well of infinite data. But not being fed made the sword unhappy, made it hungry, and it would grab data from the first place it could get it; Caturamon. This would severely weaken him, maybe even kill him it not fed for weeks. If starved the sword would lose it's mind and not care about "dying". But it was fed, and it wasn't about to let it's wielder die and take it's place. Not now.
The sword made a barrier, which only acted on high velocity, so the ones charging would have made it passed. To the one trying to mess with his mind, he would meet contact with the sword, and the sword would use this against the digimon. If he didn't parry, he would see visions of his loved ones being brutally murdered, his worse fears coming true and his life goals crushed. The fact of the matter was the sword was too powerful, to corrupt to be scared or demoralized.
But it wasn't enough, the attacks kept coming and Caturamon was sweating, metaphorically speaking. He quickly raised his head up and let out a roar that made a bomb sound like a whisper. It was another shockwave, and it's only effect was a force powerful enough to send anyone rushing him thrown backwards. Not hundreds of feet, just far enough to get them away from him and his hostage. And when the other tried to free the hostage, he would meet a kick if he wasn't quick enough, due to being underground voided the attack.
The barrier almost worked, it broke the grip for a short time, but after the shockwave he grabbed it again and flipped back, landing in front of the group. With a very angry and almost deranged growl, the Caturamon spoke. It was as if the Deva didn't want to
"You made your choice..."
The world seemingly went quiet as he whispered which it was louder than any scream and a second, darker voice echoed behind his:
"And you chose wrong."
The sword appeared and plunged into the fresh, the screams of the creature pierced the veil of silence as the Caturamon turned his head, howling again as the sword absorbed it's data. The army stood still, the spheres floated patiently, waiting to be commanded;
"You should have surrendered. This is your fault. I could have reasoned with the blade. But now this isn't my choice."
The second, darker voice would be heard as the ground shook with his words;
"If you won't leave, then you won't get in our way."
With a final howl, the sword appeared again, still gripped in his mouth as the army began moving and the spheres shot out dozens of Chikurimon that formed around the spheres, a hit wouldn't detonate them, only force that single mine to charge at the offender. And if it died, two more would take it's place, just like the Troopmon.
They rushed, they swung and they came in numbers so large they poured out into the forest. If these heroes knew what was best for them, they'd flee like the vermin they were.

That bastard, Caturamon didn't only attempted to kill a fresh, but forced the heroes to surrender. And he bothered to fend off the attacks with that strange sword. That sword was the reason why he was so powerful. It seemed that it was powered by absorbing the data of dead Digimons without giving a chance of reborn. And it seemed that Caturamon was corrupted by the sword. "Now!"Just as Ryusei was about to shoot, that dog killed that Fresh, absorbing his data into the sword. This made the busty tomboy angered even more. She couldn't forgive such action, even if she knew that this Caturamon wasn't the one who wanted to do it. She could see a remorse in his look after killing the Digimon, she couldn't help but sorry. However, she must stop him before things got worse. "Ya BASTARD!!!" Ryoko growled in both anger and pity, as she clenched her fists. "I know y' dun wanna give into dat sword, but it ain't da reason to kill evryone like none's crap! I dun have any choice but to free ya from dat clutch, even if I've to rest ya forever."(Cue BGM: Ranbu Escalation)Ryoko then came up with a plan. Since there were so many Chikurimons around the village and the spheres, they had to draw them closer and have them attack a single person with melee attacks. And then two other Digimons attack the sphere from a far, while the last Digimon intercepts Troopmon. She then told her plan, as strategic and quiet as possible, but audible to make sure her allies listen her without being exposed. "Okay. A flyer has to bait the prick, long-rangers attack da spheres, n then 'da one with many mons intercept Troopmons. Goddat?"Ryoko then shouted to start the plan, "EI, EI, OH!!!"And then if that flyer had provoked the Chikurimons to chase him, Ryusei would start bombing the sphere with fiery Hee-Hack Gun shots. She hoped that if Troopmon would attack the attackers, there would be many Digimons to intercept them.

"This can`t be good. What`s wrong with those people, can`t they let us work and do their own job, instead of mine?" Elson asked in anger as he saw everyone was trying to interfiere with the rescue. Silversteamdramon-T was able to parry the sword's attack, avoiding any of possible dangerous effects it might have had had on it. The fight went on. And then, the Caturamon...killed the hostage. How did he dare, to destroy yet another life without consequence. Elson cursed, their innability to save the young digimon, from the devas claws. And the worse thing was that....he saw it comming. That dog would pay. But first, Elson needed his team back.
Drimogemon was the first to arrive, disappointed at himself.
"Sorry." the mole digimon apologized
"You did alright, you couldn`t have done better. If those...tamers hadn`t interfiered, my plan might have worked. But when they turned it into that kind of mess...we lost hope. So we were powerless to do anything at that point. Just be happy you`re still alive, and let`s make that dog pay for this." Elson replied
"Yes, but how my general?" Silversteamdramon said arriving with Tinkermon. They had cuts and bruises all over the place, even smoking spots, due to the troopmon`s intensive shots while they were flying there.
"I...don`t know." Elson said. As if by miracle, somebody was shouting from below. Drimogemon looked at Elson as if asking permission to go see what the girl wanted. Elson nodded and the mole digimon started to dig again to get to this girl.
"Hi! I`m here on the behalf of the xros general Elson Shradder. What is the reason of your shouting?" Drimogemon asked the girl.

Suddenly, everyone attacked, in a desperate attempt to save the little digimon. Projectiles shot forth, and several warriors jumped ahead in order to fight Caturamon. But nothing succeeded.
An energy field negated some things, and a roar the others. It seemed the Deva was near-omnipotent. Despite the sword's ominous look, Majin couldn't be too sure that it was Caturamon's source of power.
In fact, he looked around them and saw that the army had grown bigger. He wasn't aware of the floating spheres, until now. The spheres spewing big amounts of Chikurimon just kind of seemed suspicious. They just seemed to be floating above the battlefield, apparently doing nothing, but what were they? Were the Chikurimon some sort of protection, or a set up for a big attack? It could really go both ways. Seeing the army advance towards them, Shadow saw no other way out of this but to take to the skies; the still-tall magician lifted his staff, erecting a barrier around him and his tamer.
As they floated up, he saw the spheres again. Whatever they did, they still seemed to be an enemy. Active or not, they had to be taken out before it got worse.
"Flames... A gift of pain from the giant... King of Witch Hunters! Ignis!" Shadow shouted, as the construct started moving once more. Yes, Caturamon had been a fool to allow it to remain, more so to have his troops move around it. Due to the construct's huge size, he intended to grab ahold of the two spheres laden with Chikurimon; at the end of his life-cycle, Ignis was instructed to grab onto the explosive spheres with his fiery fists, and not only attempt to crush them with his might, but also slam his fists down on the ground below to cause a big explosion, with him in the center.
If it succeeded at least partially, the construct would serve itself as another bomb, sending a heat wave around the immediate area, scorching all in it's path together with the kicked up magma from Darian's environment card. The explosive laden sphere was just the icing.
Majin and Shadow would float back into the city. He wasn't sure where Darian was at, and the annoying chick previously standing next to him... Well, he hoped she could fly, too.

Darian watched as all of the Digimon made their attacks against the Deva in an attempt to save the hostage. Unfortunately, all it seemed to do was piss the dog Digimon off. Gabe, who had been part of the attack doubled back into the sky before landing in front of Caturamon, joining the rest of the group. He growled angrily as the Deva caught his sword. Watching from Snowpoint, keeping out of sight of any raiding Digimon while also watching the battle from a distance, Darian scanned through his deck for any useful cards for the moment. Unfortunately, at the Champion level there weren't too many options. They were just too used to fighting at Super Mega.
Time froze as Caturamon spoke again, almost immediately afterward the Fresh level hostage exploded into data which was promptly absorbed by the sword. Gabe winced while Darian simply looked on in horror at what had just occurred. His grip around his D-Arc tightened as it began to beep and ring like crazy. It was trying to initiate a Digivolution from pure anger, yet it was still blocked by whatever Caturamon had done earlier. The Digivice would continue to ring for a few seconds before quieting down as Darian took a deep breath. He could still feel the fires in his chest burning,...but it was going to have to wait to be released.
Soon after, what seemed like a horde of Chikurimon appeared. Gabe knew now wasn't the time to be this close to the battle. With a quick stretch of his wings, he flew backwards, elevating himself away from the area and back towards Snowflake Village where Darian was. As he returned to his tamer he landed once again. With all those Chikurimon floating around, his main priority wasn't fighting the Caturamon and his devilish sword, it was protecting Darian from whatever had already managed to get inside the village.
"You okay?"
"I'm fine, any chance you can hit at least Ultimate soon?"
Gabe focused for a moment, attempting to initiate a second Digivolution. With a constipated sigh, he shook his head in defeat.
Keeping a hand close to Gabe's Digizoid wings, Darian was prepared to hop on for a swift retreat at any moment. In the mean time, he watched the battle unfold once again. It seemed like everyone else had already came up with another plan of action. This time it appeared to be target the orbs that the Chikurimon were spawning from. While that could be a good plan, Darian decided to observe from afar and see what Caturamon and his army's response would be.

It seemed that intelligence wasn't a strong suit to this group. Caturamon laughed at the threats, at the sudden shock in the faces of the tamers as the spheres continued to pump out soldiers, who were toppling buildings and leveling houses. It was glorious, the amount of death and destruction, this place would never be the same. No matter how hard they rebuilt, it would go down in history s nothing but a haunted battleground. And then the shadow one took to the skies, zipping around like a fly as he was about to dispatch his own flying Digimon. It was laughable how he attempted to try something new, almost humorous. But what he did next didn't make Caturamon laugh, it made him sweat.
He was brazen enough to attack it with flame, the Chikurikmon moved in time to protect the sphere from the flames, but not the fist that met the delicate center. He cursed as he leaped from his rock and pulled the last two Spheres from the battlefield. They dropped what they were doing and followed him as he tucked tail and ran as fast as he could. Shouting:
"Fool!"
As the Sphere took critical damage, it had a fail safe to ensure NOTHING was left, it would create a self destruct the equivalent of a Tomahawk missile. Those are usually enough to seriously injure a Mega. And Caturamon wasn't far enough away for his lock to dissipate. The worst part is that the fool didn't set off one, but two. And if they both went off it would instantly kill the Digimon who was brave enough to attack it head on. But lucky for him, it didn't. The second cleared the blast zone and took a hop, going off in the air as it vaporized a quarter of the husks. Rubble would bury anyone within the city and no doubt injuries would follow.
Caturamon hopped returned as he surveyed the battlefield, it didn't look like anyone survived. To him anyway, and with the boss on his tail about this place it was safe to say there wasn't much of it left. The sphere spoke as he was scanning for movement,
"Sir, continue to press the attack. The others are still ready for-"
"No. I've had my fill of data today, the sword is satisfied, and this place is nothing but rubble. Those human and Digimon fools likely perished with this hole in the ground. Leave the remaining troops to kill any survivors and then destroy them."
The sphere acknowledged and it's eye shined blue as the chassis spun around the eye, and the last hundred or so troops started searching. The sphere turned around and followed its master. As they walked away, the dog deva spoke to someone, to most people it would appear he was talking to himself. But a faint voice would answer back.
"Snowflake Village is no more, Snowpoint as well. Three dead tamers, too many dead Digimon."
He continued to walk away, chuckling at his victory and the success in killing the tamers.
Or so he thought.

After Ryoko shouted, a Drimogemon appeared from underground, asking Ryoko what was making her to shout. She shouted to commence her strategy, but looks like everyone were busy with their own course of action, so... "We're gonna execute da strategy. Ryusei will shoot da spheres from afar, 'n ya guys can intercept Troopmons when-"
Just Ryoko was about to finish her answer and Ryusei was about to shoot, the Wizardmon chanted the spell, and commanded a fire golem of some sort. The golem then crushed and slammed the spheres onto the ground. However, it was proven to be too much to handle. Just as the explosion was about to happen...
"Shit! Evrybuddeh, hide!" Ryusei instructed as he took his tamer run away from the village, as the devastating explosion ensued, which could destroy the entire village. The duo then hid into the hole the Drimogemon had made, assuming he would dig away first.
Once the explosion faded, Ryusei and Ryoko looked up to check the condition. The village became wrecked, messy rubble. Many Digimons died in the village, and hopefully few survived. There was a HUGE crater on the ground in the explosion's wake. It was very, very scary. That dog Digimon would pay for what he had done. Killing all innocents just to satisfy someone's hunger? Don't joke!
"Goddamn...!" Ryoko muttered in anger, while still hiding in the hole. If only that dog didn't bark and snark all around to cripple their levels... They could've won. That dog played dirty just to get whatever he wanted: A power. It was just like a Digimon named Ankh and his obsession on power, and with his cynical mindset at that. How could he didn't let the others to play fair?
"We're gonna make 'em pay for 'tis...!" Ryusei growled in anger, clenching his fists.

Elson kept his eye on what was going on around him, waiting for the right opportunity to make a move himself. His confidence was a bit shaken given the result of the last attempt to make something usefull, a chaotic mess that only resulted in what they were trying to prevent. Angry, Elson kicked the wall. His patience wouldn't last forever, but he did hope it'd last ling enough for him to be able to come up with something that result in their deaths.
Drimogemon listened the one that had yelled, trying to see if she had a plan. It seemed her plan was to have her partner shoot down the spheres while Elson's army would try to hold of the troopmons. This worried Drimogemon both because Elson would be offended by the lack of valuing and because before the girl could finish explaining her plan, a digimon summoned a fire golem, which ended up smashing two of the spheres. The explosion that followed was powerfull indeed, and by the looks of it even the Caturamon was worried about it. Drimogemon digged down, missing completly on a certain side effect of the explosion.
With Tinkermon and Silversteamdramon by his side, Elson witnessed as the explosion occurred and blew tons of the village up, the rubble being sent down towards the survivors. First he felt a huge pain in his arm, from a sharp rock that flew in his direction. He turned quickly.
"Load Tinkermon, Silversteamdramon!" Elson was able to shout, before he was hit by a large piece of frozen rock, the world going black as his digimons were pulled inside the fusion loader. Elson could see that the guy who could biomerge into Merkurymon simply flied above, as if examining the situation.
Elson woke up at the sound of drilling. His eyes opened to see Drimogemon taking of the rubble that covered Elson. His arm had a mend around it, placed by Tinkermon who had managed to find some of it to try to stop the bleeding. Silversteamdramon was looking ahead, at the Caturamon who was leaving thinking him dead. Elson's anger grew even more. There's no point in a well-thought strategy now, they failed in defending that village. But revenge seemed to be still at hand. As soon as he was free from the rubble, Elson raised his fusion loader in the air.
"Silversteamdramon! Drimogemon! Digi-fuse!" He shouted, mixing up the two digimon. "Get him."
Tge xros nodded and ran towards the Caturamon. When it was close enough to aim, Silversteamdramon-D pointed his drill at the Caturamon.
"Drimogena Canon!" Silversteamdramon-D yelled before launching his drill towards the Caturamon, hoping that it would at least be harmful.

The fiery construct was successful in grasping the two spheres - meeting resistance, but ultimately crushing the Chikurimon against it and slamming the whole thing down below, at the horde Caturamon had unleashed on the group.
It worked. Perhaps too well. The whole area was brightly lit, and the resulting explosion virtually leveled the surrounding area. Instinctively, the magician erected a barrier around the two, hoping it would hold on long enough. It shattered under the immense stress, but at least was partially successful in avoiding more serious injuries. But this didn't mean they came out of this unhurt.
As soon as the whole thing settled and Caturamon walked off the battlefield, the pair stood up wearily. Their bodies showed signs of burning. Despite this, they remained silent.
"You ok, bud?" Majin inquired, Shadow nodded, looking around them. Their plan had succeeded, but at what cost? ...What else could they have done, though?
Would it have been better to sit by idly while the village was destroyed? They were pushed to this conclusion, but Majin couldn't help but feel guilty about the village's destruction. Had they been able to remain in their Super Mega forms, they would've surely been capable of stopping this. But the fight seemed one-sided. Emotionally, Majin stood on a thin line between despair and anger. Was this all they could do? Was all this power acquired in vain? It seemed that their every technique was nulled by these evils. Perhaps... They had to grow stronger in some other way.
When there is evil in this world that justice cannot defeat, would you taint your hands with evil to defeat evil? Or would you remain steadfast and righteous even if it means surrendering to evil?
A thought crossed Majin's mind. His D-Arc started glowing softly.
Yes... Perhaps that was the better way. If he had played dirty. If he had been like his old self, perhaps this wouldn't have happened. If he didn't insist on being a goody two shoes like the rest, perhaps this village would still stand.
He turned to see Shadow staring at him, trembling. The digimon could feel it too. Feel his master's despair. His rage welling up inside him. Where were the forces of good?! No one had backed them up! No tamers, no digimon, no government!!!
YES! This world didn't need another hero! Another goody two shoes tamer with his altruistic values that brought nothing to the table. Another meatbag to be served up punishment by these evils! No! What this world needed was a monster! Someone willing to risk, someone willing to get dirty in order to tear the enemy apart!
"I'll.... I'll kill you... I'll rip you apart, I'll mangle your data so badly you will never ever be reborn!!!" the white haired tamer screamed out.
With a few clicks of the D-Arc, the pair slid into a portal and faded from view.

While Darian and Gabe had been taking up an observation role on the battlefield, what happened next they were pretty sure wasn't expected by anybody. It seemed like attacking the spheres was definitely an effective form of attack, but to what extent? Had there have been no hints on the battlefield, there would've been nothing to catch on to. Fortunately, Darian did spot something strange. Caturamon wasn't standing his ground, he was sprinting away like a scared puppy. The Deva had been absolutely dominating this fight and now suddenly he's scared?
Did his power level suddenly drop? Or maybe....just maybe there was something else happening. Darian watched as one of the spheres fell, there presence emanating something that just felt...wrong. Gabe felt it too.
"Darian, we need to leave, NOW!"
"It's...too late." He said, withdrawing a card from his pocket and moving it towards his D-Arc.
Gabe moved quickly, his Digizoid wings were around Darian in a heartbeat, just as the sphere exploded. The battlefield erupted first in a quick blast of warm air before the actual damage came. Luckily for Gabe, Darian's card that he swiped was the Chrome Digizoid Card. Now instead of just his wings, Gabe's entire body had become encased in a solid Chrome Digizoid armour.
At first it seemed like the blast would be resisted, but even with the added defensive bonus, Gabe, along with Darian, were both picked up by the blast wave and sent hurtling into the destruction.
"Darian? Darian! Wake up!"
A faint voice woke him from his drunken stupor. Gradually opening his eyes, Darian felt heavy. He could see Gabe bent over him, in his holosuited form once again, ripping various amounts of debris from what seemed like it was on top of him. While there was pain, Darian knew he was lucky. This time there wasn't anything life threatening, maybe several scratches, possibly a gash somewhere, but he wasn't going to die. That was a relief.
As the last bit of debris was raised from his chest, Darian managed to get himself into a seated position. Quietly, he stared around the area, taking apart the remains of Snowpoint to see that really, there wasn't much left. That same burning feeling from before erupted in his chest. He was still clueless to the Digivolution that lingered inside him, screaming to get out, but it was definitely making its presence known.
"Come on man, let's get back to the human world. We lost, and you need to get patched up. Come on!"
Darian sighed, Gabe was right. Though, a thought went through his mind. Were the other people okay? The one's he was fighting with? He couldn't see them anywhere. Darian was in the midst of standing to go search for them when Gabe, as clever as always, caught on to what he was doing and grabbed him. For a Digimon that just took a full body blast, he still had enough strength to keep Darian in place.
It wasn't long before Darian felt the portal open up around him. Heh, so Gabe had activated it himself. Still fuming, Darian let himself take one last look at the ruins of Snowpoint before submitting himself to the warmth of the portal.

The snow gently fell over the ruined landscape as the Digimon bum rushed thin air. If they had noticed, Caturamon fled with the entire place going up in smoke. He was, however, watching a top a mountainside where Craws once resided, angrily grunting that the Tamers lived. He knew he should have done the job himself, but with his boss talking of a new plan, the Dog Deva had no choice but to make a portal of his own and stepped through, his spheres in tow.
"Puppet to their own anger. Don't worry...I'll end your misery soon enough."
A deep, almost bellowing laugh echoed through the woods and into the destroyed village. He knew at least they'd have to live with the fact that they were powerless to the Devas. And their own desires crippled them, he had heard rumors about how intimidating humans were, how fierce and cunning they were. All he saw were a bunch of pups fighting over a bone. Perhaps they all just hated eachother, but one thing was certain.
These humans were a bad joke, and the Devas were done laughing.
----------------------
Crashing of charred debris could be heard as building after building collapsed into the snow. A dense blanket of snow covered what wasn't destroyed or burning and the dissipating bodies of the fallen Digimon dotted the battleground. They were dying, but lucky enough that Caturamon left before absorbing them. What a population of at least a thousand was now dwindled to a few dozen. Their homes destroyed, their lives ruined and their friends and family dead, they had no choice. They had to move on. Find somewhere to go. Somewhere to call home. Snowpoint was gone, the village was ransacked and they needed someone to blame.
And the humans were already here.
Collectively the Digimon shouted at the humans, cursed them, spit at them as they began their long trek to Yggdrasil knows where. If not for them fighting Caturamon would have only done what Craws had been doing for years. They knew the pain, they knew the gashes it left. But this was something new, and the humans caused it. Whatever the humans said didn't matter, they had to make a camp to live until their village would come back. And that wasn't something that would happen any time soon.
