Black energy pulsated around the solitary figure of a digimon. Zephyrus stood alone in the plains, the wind brushing grass against his hooves. Things where working out exactly as he expected, the data being accumulated by his minions was sufficient for an act of sheer power. In this fractured world, he would show just what he was capable of. Now was the time for action! Now was the time to strike fear into the hearts of every digimon, and every human in this world. His world. He summoned further energy to his palms, before dissipating the wave of black energy into the ground.
The effect was immediate, the grass shrivelling and dying, the ground beneath him becoming barren, lifeless, and beyond repair. Ground cracked, oozing out additional black energy, before ripping up, the surrounding area being decimated by the wave of corrupted data streaming through it. The pulse was extending out in a circle from it’s origin, gaining speed rapidly.
Zephyrus snickered slightly at the sight, the ground being ripped apart by his power. Everything was working as intended, the area was being drained of all potential data, the terrain shattered at it’s very base. His ascendancy would be soon, soon he would be unstoppable.
The wave continued to extend out, reaching a width of around a mile before it finally halted, the ground having been warped beyond belief. Then a pulse from the circumference began to retract, rapidly gaining speed, and being absorbed into the Aegiochusmon’s hooves. A black orb of energy generated in Zephyrus’s hand before he stuck the orb into the ground. So easy.
With that, the damage area began to rumble, rocked rising vertically up into the air, dragging the other parts of the ground with them. The large chuck of ground began to rise, revealing that it was actually one single object, all the parts rising where actually connected. The two mile wide area finally began to get clear of plains, rising to around fifty feet in the air. Black energy was warping the rocks which had risen, applying shinier, sharper edges.
Ah, too easy.
OOC: OK, based on the first couple of plot threads, this is how we’re going to try this one. I’m still searching for the perfect way to run these threads, but this might be a better system than before.
There is no cap on the amount of people who can join this thread. Zephyrus will post every third day, regardless of who has posted/hasn’t. There is no post order in the thread, but you may only post once per Zephyrus post. (Once you’ve posted, you cannot post again until Zephyrus has posted). Everyone can hit champion, or higher if you have the posts Also, just to state it, unless you actively witnessed Zephy ripping up the plains, in which case you would probably be caught up in the initial shockwave, you wouldn't be capable of knowing he's initially responsable

"Come on!"
Darn it! Why did they have to be the closest to this abominable catastrophe? Just a few minutes ago, Iko and Luke had departed from a Trailmon, on an unrelated errand out in the plains. Actually, they were on a mission: the Network Plains were a source of a very rare root fungus, used in several medicines in the Digital World. All the wolf Digimon had to do was sniff a few out, and they would be back on their way...
This, however, threw a wrench in both of their plans. Just a few hundred yards away from the center of this abnormality, the ground in front of them began to pick up from the ground, soil and rocks pouring down beneath as it began to reshape itself. Whatever just happened... well, that couldn't be thought of right now! Right in front of them, a dead piece of the digital world just began to lift off into the sky.
"Damn!" Clenching his claw, the Ankomon, Iko, swore and glanced up at the lifting platform. Ugh, it disgusted him: even as they looked on, the earth became more and more demented, ebony-toned rocks forming across the side, like a demonic continent!
"We have to find a way on." Immediately, Luke assessed his surroundings. There wasn't any time to think, or even assess the risk of approaching this thing. All the pair could think of was how to go on and-
There! "Iko, the tree! Come on!"
With Luke pointing the way, both Digimon and Tamer made a mad sprint towards the perimeter of the crater, arms held up to shield them from falling pebbles and debris. There, just at the edge of the destruction, was a tall-enough digital tree, to challenge the current height of the earth. As they ran, Iko gave a nod towards Luke. He took the human on his back, and ran up the side of the oak, landing on a tall branch at the top. With another jump, his arms and feet found handholds on this demented land...
"Holy hell..."
Somehow, they made it. Still far from the center, only a few hundred feet from the edge, Luke took a moment to catch his breath, Iko standing a bit more towards the center. Cautiously, he kept his eyes on his surroundings, briefly taking a moment to kneel down, passing his paw over the dead, transforming land.
"It feels like my home... I don't like this." A Dark Area digimon at his core, Iko's fur bristled at the tone. The land felt dead, transformed in an instant. Whoever or whatever did this had some serious power behind them... was this a mistake?
"Everything's turned into black stone... let's go forward." Iko nodded towards Luke, and this time, the wolf pointed forth. The natural lay of the land before had transformed: soft, rolling hills became their only source of cover, their only way to remain undetected (if that was even possible). Going with a reconnaissance approach, both began to creep walk forward, going from whatever rock or crag they could find to stay relatively out of sight.
Eventually, they would be able to get to the center this way... but who would see who first?

They've all got the same heartbeat, but her's is falling behind. Avery and Patch had made their way from Shibuya via Trailmon and into Terminal City. There they had met up with Jimmy and done a little catching up. Since they still had several hours left till they had to be home on what was supposed to be a lazy Saturday, they decided to head out and explore another part of the Digital World.
They were quickly becoming familiar Network Plains since they frequently crossed. Normally, the rolling hills and swaying grass was calming to the Italian teen, but however, there was something eerie and chilling in the atmosphere.
The black-haired teen and her cat-like partner made their way through the waist high grass, but as they reached the crest of the hill, AJ's blue-gray orbs widened. Where there had once been more grass was now black, charred earth and something that seemed like black gas oozing from the cracks. AJ let out a gasp, but she was quickly interrupted as the ground began to tremble beneath them.
Her left collar bone began to burn and a light shot out from her pocket, engulfing Patch. "Mikemon armor chinka! Jagerlowemon!" AJ turned to look at the armor ultimate. "Get on! We've gotta go!" he growled.
AJ clambered on and glanced back over her shoulder as they dashed away.
A little ways on when they were farther from the crumbling earth, AJ collasped on the ground. While there was still grass here, it was beginning to turn grey and withered looking.
"That's so weird. There has to be something going on. Ready to investigate?" she asked.
The Jagerloweemon gave a solemn nod. Once she had mounted on top of his back again, they sped off, but kept outside of the obviously attacked area. Patch would stop occasionally and smell, looking for any signs as to what could have happened or who could have caused this.

"Are we there yet?" Cosmodramon inquired, impatient as she jumped around Prophetmon playfully.
"No, we aren't." Prophetmon replied as he walked foward. It seemed the young dragon was pretty excited about today's journey. But then again, she had always been curious about the human world, always requesting him yo tell (or retell) Prophetmon's days in there, as Collectdramon. Part of him missed that place, with all the noise, and the funny adventures (well, NOW he knew they were funny) he had, Fran and Hagu... Yet another side of him knew he didn't actually like it all that much while he WAS there, so his prospects for this journey were not set high. Today he was showing Cosmodramon the human world for the first (and hopefully, last) time.
"How about now?" Cosmodramon asked.
"No." Prophetmon replied. He wondered if maybe they should have taken the trailmon afterall. Prophetmon had refused a ride. They would have to know how to go around walking swiftly if they wanted to see any of the human world, or they might be found, so he decided towards the Terminus City would be a forfilling test to their capacity to do so.
"How about now?" Cosmodramon repeated, as if somehow insisting would make her wish to see the human world come true faster.
"No. Cosmodramon, if..." Prophetmon began, being interrupted by a sudden motion ahead in the plains, a disturbing sound that was released as the ground began to rise, like it wanted to touch the moon, but halting before it got there. That wasn't a normal characteristic of the Network Plains and such a disturbing anomally could not be natural, could not be simple to make, it was no accident.
Prophetmon's face would have shown his horror and fear if he had a face, instead of a wooden mask that did not change and therefore could not express feelings. Cosmodramon was shocked too, though she was partially amazed. Traits of her past life were now showing and others of her new youth fought them as the young dragon tried to decided on why and how to go and see what the lifting ground could mean.
"It is not for you, Cosmodramon. I will see what the problem is, but please stay here for your own sake." Prophetmon ordered, grabbing the dragon's shoulder.
"I...but...Why..." She protested, only receiving a silent look in response. A bit sad that she couldn't go and see something as amazing as he ground suddenly lifting herself, she nodded at Prophetmon, who nodded back before leaving running to confirm why in the world this strange event was taking place.
(OOC: Are armor champions allowed for usage during a fight or is champion the top level allowed?)

words:878 | Notes: FINALLY I CAN DROP IN :T |
Zephyr shuddered. Something felt…wrong. He hadn’t done anything that could have been considered wrong in the last few hours, but after getting used to his body, whenever something happened, his state of mind and heart always felt out of whack. It ranged from simple nagging feelings to someone beating him over the head with a frying pan that something was wrong and he had to go check it out. The Network Plains didn’t have much in the way of flora aside from the clusters of trees and grass that adorned the area. At first, he figured that he was just imagining things.
Before the feeling kept on nagging him, the Perfect level plant-dragon decided to spend some time outside of the plains meditating and getting a better sense of his new body. Considering the eastern dragon man never thrust himself into the heat of battle or even bothered fighting since he felt it was a waste of time, it gave him chances to reacquaint himself with the forms he could access. The well muscled, armor covered dragon scowled, eyes still closed as he tried to ignore the growing sensation.
“It’s probably nothing…” he grunted with a nod.
Zephyr, legs crossed and arms extended forward in a relaxed position as he tried to focus. The dragon man’s frame started to glow with a dull green aura. The vines that adorned his body snaked around, the ones latched on his bulky frame slowly wrapping tighter. More vines from the ground carefully erupted forth as the Ekkidramon attempted to empower himself with the land. During the middle of the process, something shot through his body. A loud cry pierced his ears, causing the dragon to lose his concentration. The vines dropped to the ground as Zephyr’s eyes looked around in a panic. His arms were raised up in a defensive position.
“Just what the-“
There it was again. The same cry pierced his armor and assaulted his ears heavily. The dragon was forced to kneel to try and ignore the sound, but it was too loud to phase out. The cry sounded like…it needed help. But no one was in this area for miles, at least from the last time he looked around. Maybe there actually was a problem with the land itself? Despite just being data, Zephyr figured that there was some sort of consciousness -if he could call it that- that always poked at him from the forest and grass itself. If a cry like that could bother him to the point he felt his stomach flopping around, he was obligated to listen.
“Alright, you win.” The Ekkidramon grumbled as he took to the skies.
With a eagle eye view, the eastern dragon’s jaw dropped at what he was witnessing. Quite a few miles away, he could see something in the center of the Plains. It was…killing the land? And the effect seemed to be spreading as the earth itself was being ripped up and turned into black. Zephyr’s hair went on end. He could see something floating in the center of the chaos. Even from miles away, he could see the power rolling off from the area and tensed his fists. Guess that thing about going into the heat of battle was gonna be ignored.
The dragon flew off at a low altitude in some hope that his coloring would let him blend in with the environment before he arrived at the dead areas. Once he did, the dragon was restricted to running. The dead, black areas lasted for a while, the eastern dragon reducing his running to nothing more than a quick jog. His first priority, at least in his head, was to see if he could fix this place. The source of it was still going strong, but maybe he could try and offset it. The green scaled dragon man shifted his legs into a proud fighting stance and took a deep breath. Powerful green waves rolled off of him and onto the torn ground, the land around him being restored to its former glory.
Sadly, the effect only lasted for a few minutes before the land around him was turned back to black. Alright, well that didn’t work out too well. Next best solution; tackle the problem at the source. The dragon man was more than capable of dealing with this himself and providing enough energy to funnel toward the ground for his own usage, easy. Zephyr slowly made his way toward the center to see chunks of the land floating above.
And with that, the odd looking culprit. The vines surrounding Zephyr’s wooden gauntlets thickened and extended, resembling that of decently sized whips. Whether or not he was seen didn’t matter to him considering he was alone. The dragon man decided to use the tortured land to his advantage. One of the vines in his hands wrapped around one of the large boulders floating in the area. Zephyr’s muscles bulged and flexed as he pulled the boulder back before flinging it right towards the culprit. He was at a close angle enough for the boulder to actually go fast enough and do some distraction damage. With that, Zephyr began to hop on the floating boulders to get closer and take the fight to him.

A Motorcycle stopped near Terminus Gate, and something weird was about to happen in Network Plains. There was anomaly energy of some sort... dunno. But nevertheless, whatever it was, they needed to check it out.
Ryoko, in her usual attire consisted of blue-and-orange sports bra (which exposed her six-packed abs) under black leather jacket, dark blue jeans, black leather sneakers, and black fingerless leather gloves; dismounted from her bike. She rushed to the plains along with her partner, Ryusei the Space Agumon, and her two mercenaries: Yuuki the Renamon and Nadeshiko the Angewomon. The Renamon wore her usual school uniform, while Nadeshiko wore a blue hoodie with checkered pockets over rib-length white tanktop, and blue jeans-skirt.
The companion then went to see who caused the cause of this decaying land. The withering grasses and crumbling earth. What caused it and who? Looks like it had to do with he bad guy. There she met AJ and Patch. However, she couldn't greet them due to dire situation. So, the best was to get right into the fight.
"Let's go, Ryusei. We're gonna kick whoever's butt caused 'tis mess. Iku ze!" Ryoko exclaimed. "Ou!" Ryusei nodded. Ryoko then activated the strongest Astro Module available.
ROCKET! UPGRADE! The Digivice announced.
Soon, the spectral parts appeared around Ryusei, before assembling themselves onto Ryusei's Arms, materializing into a pair of Rocket Modules. And then...
ROCKET! SUPER!
Ryusei's body shined as the evolution began!
[DIGIVOLUTION SEQUENCE]
SPACEAGUMON, WARP DIGIVOLVE, TO...
In background of data matrices, SpaceAgumon's body shined as he gained a pair of rocket-shaped gauntlets, flying through the rings of data as his body grew taller into 6 feet tall with humanoid shape. As he went through to the space, Ryusei's body now had a silver space suit with blue chest armor. He then gained a skirt armor that had a status display on the center, and a pair of rocket thrusters on the waist. Whilst the Module Ports for the legs stayed same, the shoes became red in color. Ryusei gained a space shuttle-like mask and long, ponytailed orange hair. On the back, a shuttle of some sort landed. The right Rocket Module gained a drill and clawed tip, while the left gained chainsaw-like scissors.
The Digivolution sequence completed, and Ryusei digivolved into...
"ASTROGREYMON! Uchuu KITAAAAAAAAA~!"
[DIGIVOLUTION SEQUENCE ENDED]
Ryusei, now in his Mega form, prepared themselves for the worst scenario. And then he saw a dragon was about to engage the culprit... Wait. Wait until that green dragon confirmed whoever the culprit was.

It couldn't be. The world could not change as fast. It had never changed as fast on its own, even if that was the Digital World. So it was completely impossible that the once peaceful, vast oceans of grass, had turned into a decrepit, charred field with nothing but dust on the surface. As the dup beheld the impressive, shocking landscape that extended further than their eyes could reach at that moment, a shout came from the eighteen year old. -JUST WHAT... WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?! -Tatsuya angrily screamed as his partner gawked at the destroyed field. However, as he began to realize that what had taken place was a single Digimon's doing, the landscape began to fill with ebony rock formations similar to deformed pillars. The most unbelievable event would happen a fraction of a second afterwards. A massive chunk of the destroyed land that they had previously called Network Plains began rising in the distance, as if it was being shaped by an incredibly powerful force. That could only mean that the Kazan had been right in his assumptions, and there was someone, or something, behind that disaster. His fists clenched. How many Digimons would've died because of it? It was clear that Dorumon was thinking the same thing. His maws clenched, feral-like eyes observing the sheer amount of distraction. -The strong ones destroy the weak. It has been like that since this world was created... Not again!! I won't accept any of this!! -the Digimon roared, enraged. He gave Tatsuya a meaningful look, and the human pulled his black D-3 from his pocket. Tatsuya's hand slammed against the top of the Digivice, enveloped in fractal code, with two words appearing into the screen. His chest glowed with the the Crest of Freedom shining brightly. WARP DIGIVOLUTION. -Dorumon... Warp Shinka...!! -the Digimon called out as a beam of light engulfed him, his now glowing skin ripping from the top to the bottom, starting from his head. As it was finished, he spinned, becoming envelopped by a torrent of orange, blue and silver flash. From where his entire body stood, a muscular, dragon-like defined body took its place. His right paw became muscular as well, and the right was covered by Chrome armor, giving it a futuristic, beast-like appearence. As his paws and tail made their way out of the flashes, the shining torrent faded, revealing a menacing head covered by a helmet made of Chrome Digizoid with dark red hair. Backflipping into the air, two rockets formed into his back and eight energy wings appeared, propelling him back into the ground. Its skin then took an orange hue with blue stripes. -MetalGreymon X! -the Ultimate called out, with Tatsuya quickly climbing into its back, grabbing its hair. -C'mon! We're going to see what happened over there! -Tatsuya said, as they rocketed forward to the source of the corruption of the land. From their position, they could discern a figure, riding a JaegerLoweemon. It was... Avery? Still flying forward, the dragon lowered its current flying height, with Tatsuya shouting at his friend. -Ave!! Did you see that too?! -the young man asked, without time to give her a proper greeting.

Why the trio were currently in Network Plains? A rather simple question, that prompted a rather simple answer. If you wanted to go from Terminus City to anywhere, you had to travel across that vast expanse of plains. Their current destiny? Not decided, as of yet. It just seemed that Mana just enjoyed too much the sensation of flying (at really low altitudes) that Penny's Ginryumon form was capable of. It felt like true freedom.
Yet, before their destination could be decided, Ayaka felt a sickening sensation in all her being. Before anyone could ask her what was exactly going on. She signaled a great expanse of land that was floating in the distance, just in front of them. Approaching it, it looked to be withered and warped beyond belief; undoubtedtly something was happening in here. Something that definitely wasn't good at all.
As Penny advanced, Mana began to distinguish a familiar visage in the distance. His size was diminutive in comparison to the massive mass of floating land, but the girl could identify that orange cybernetic dinosaur anywhere. It was MetalGreymon X, the most advanced stage of Tatsuya's partner she had knowledge of. Penny was definitely slower than him, but at least that gave away that something, and something really serious was happening in there. There was no time to waste, and if the black-haired boy had been worried enough to use MetalGreymon from the get go, she wouldn't get behind. Her digivice's coloration began to change, and pinkness enveloped the totality of its frame; a bright green light emanated from its screen as two words shone brighly in it: <MATRIX EVOLUTION>.
From her seat at Penny's back, Ayaka's rookie form was engulfed by the light as her body began to grow and mature, finally reaching her perfect form; Acerimon.
Having made the necessary preparations, they kept flying forward. Their trip would take a bit longer than Tatsuya's, but they'll eventually make it.

"Shadow, it's time."
The pair had remained vigilant for any anomaly ever since the Snowflake Incident. Partly because of them, a fiendish dog digimon had obliterated the establishment. Needless to say, Majin was passionate about stopping this guy, oblivious as to the Deva's association with a bigger group. Thanks to Aestyr's prototype surveillance system, and largely due to the attack's dimensions, the pair were alerted to his potential presence...
A portal opened, and the duo walked out, immediately scanning the area. But there was no Caturamon. There was just.... Floating chunks of black earth before them. Shadow was currently in his champion form, and through his Aura Sense, was able to detect Mana and Ayaka nearby. Majin touched his chest and hands softly. Both of them had suffered some burns from their last fight, and had barely enough time to have them heal a little, all thanks to ChibiMachinedramon's technology.
"Mana and Ayaka are nearby. There are others, all unknown." the magician alerted. Majin was surprised, Mana was here? Such a brave girl. But this was plainly beyond her - beyond him, even. Now he couldn't just turn his back. Even if he hadn't gotten prepared completely, he now had another reason to jump in.
"We gotta help them, at least. Lead the way, Shadow." Majin responded. Shadow nodded, raising a barrier around them. The pair steadily floated off the ground and up towards the floating structure, intent on reaching their comrades.

Zephyrus could sense intruders in his realm. This ground talked to him, feeding him information of presenses. People where too curious, and curiosity killed the cat, or so they claimed. Regardless, he would deal with the intruders himself. It would be easy, so easy that they would never see him coming. And then he would feast, feast on the data they would so unwittingly supply. His senses suddenly rode into overdrive, reflexes kicking in, causing the digimon to spin, smashing a larger boulder inches from his face. He eyed the green dragon before him carefully. ”Number One-ne.” He rasped, grinning, teeth showing, and now facing the digimon. —assassination protocol initialised—
A red flashed over the digimons eyes, before a dark glow emanated from the digimon, shape reforming. Ah, this form was much better for the hunt, the thrill. ”Nighmare Slash.” The digimon teleported immediately, appearing a foot from Zephyr, both blades attached to his radiating black energy as he swung both in an arc at his foe. Too simple.
Outside of the engagement, the plane continued to mutate, infected heavily with the corrupted stream of data. Rocks began to rise out of the ground, forming walls which stood at around six foot tall, these slowly connected to form a labyrinth.

"Should have figured..."
Well, this didn't take a genius to figure out. As this floating island was a rather monstrous insult to the land, of course it managed to drag attention from all over. Even as a champion, Iko could sense a number of powerful signals flying closer, hopefully intent on snuffing this out at the source. Soon, they would come into sight, Luke seeing a few of them try and get closer.
"Fine by us, right?" Luke grinned: "They seem strong enough, anyway. Besides, as long as they're here, we shouldn't be on the radar that much by comparison-"
"Don't be overconfident." Iko shook his head at his partner, looking towards the center: immediately, whatever black figure stood in the center of this place vanished at an instant. The sound of an attack, and a fierce crackle of energy, alerted them to the fight above. Slowly, he stood away from his cover, and...
"What?!"
"Luke, stay close!"
What was this... it felt like this rock was going to fall apart underneath them! Bolting for his partner, Iko tackled Luke, and held him to the ground, fearful that this place was going to cave in on both of them. However, the reaction was far more organized than he expected: he looked up, expression slightly agape, as rather refined walls of black stone began to rise around them. It was interesting, to say the least: in a matter of moments, the structure still shifting around them, the entire platform seemed to be taking a rather 'structured' turn.
"What's going on?"
"I hate to say it, partner," Iko slowly stood up, helping Luke to his feet, "But I think we're in this for the long hall, now. Should only take a few more moments before this stone maze turns into a fortress of some sort. Just a guess, but-"
"Speaks a lot to that Digimon's ego..." Luke shook his head. "And you're so calm because-"
"Because," Iko cut Luke off, "These walls make it both easier to hide, and it gives me something to fight with. Now," Fiercely, Iko grasped Luke's arm with his hand, pulling him close: "We can't get separated by a random wall. So-"
"Sheesh." Luke shook his head and relented, locking elbows with his champion-leveled Digimon. Figuring that there was some point to these walls, Luke made a suggestion: "Let's make our way to the middle. If this is going to end up anything important, than that should be where the main room ends up."
"Works for me. Let's move!"

Well, that happened. The stagnant rocks around the figure still hadn’t moved, but Zephyr noted a quick shift in power. The energy started to pile up around the culprit and it made him uneasy. After just launching the rock, he really didn’t have much in the way of a plan outside of that considering the thing was big enough to hide him until he got close enough. Sadly, that didn’t go as planned. The power piled up and shifted again as soon as it started again. The Ekkidramon was greeted with the rock going past nothing where the abnormal digimon used to be.
“Shit.” He grumbled.
His ears flicked at the sudden clang and clinks of metal. Despite all the material floating in the air, it was clear to hear just about anything if one focused hard enough. It didn’t do much for the plant dragon digimon as a new face appeared right in front of him. Quite literally, the scythe toting monster appeared close to a foot away. He didn’t get a quick look at him due to the fact the thing was already making a counter attack. It came closer, the two blades attached to his arms swinging in a wide arc. The large plant dragon grabbed something from the palm of his hand and gently threw it up in the air. Considering he didn’t have much in the way of flight, the only thing Zephyr could do was go up or down. Since he wasn’t fast enough to gain speed to go up, he simply ‘fell’, but not without a parting gift.
The eastern dragon descended toward one of the rocks, one of his wooden gauntlets missing a berry. The same berry fell toward the digimon. While he avoided the slash, he wasn’t planning on sticking around to get familiar with those blades. The berry erupted in a flash of light, the radius of the actual light rather small, but it was enough for a quick distraction. The thing was fast, very much so. If he was going to play close range, he had to be careful about it. Fruits of the Land was his only saving grace since the berries on his person could be used and most of his arsenal allowed him to beef himself up. But he needed some time to breathe. For now, it was time to feel, not think. “Let’s just hope I can outwit him and not outspeed him.” He thought. If anything, he had a trump card.
The eastern dragon’s vines quickly grew from around his body, thickening in size to give him a pair of vine like swords that wrapped around his upper arms and biceps. The material itself was enough to protect him and give him a weapon that wasn’t his fists. He raised them up and looked for the weird looking digimon with sparing glances. He was most likely blinded for a short time, but that thing was still fast as hell.

Ryoko and the gang went further, and they met her friends: AJ, Tatsuya, Mana, and... a guy from the Snowflake. Looks like they were here to engage that perpetrator as well. However, they were waiting, like she did. And AJ was horrified from the condition, it seemed. Ryoko frowned, seeing this kind of nature-damaging matter as a predicament. Whoever caused this mess couldn't be forgiven. "Oh, AJ, Mana-chin, Tacchan, ya here?!" Ryoko gawked as she ran to them. "Be careful! Looks like I'm readin' a strange energy signal 'round here! Wuddever caused this mess is really powerful!" Ryusei warned. "Y'think?!""Yep. I'm feeling a greater evil presence there..." Nadeshiko said as she pointed at the the floating island on the center of plains... Probably that was where the Big Bad was. And the rocks rose from the ground as they were starting assembling themselves into some kind of construct. A labyrinth? Or even... bigger?. "Dat's realleh weird." Ryoko commented as she saw the rocks building themselves into some kind of fortress. "Wuddeva ittiz, let's get into da labyrinth!" Ryusei told the gang, and the friends. Ryoko, Yuuki, and Nadeshiko then nodded at him. "Alrite, let's go guyz!" Ryoko exclaimed as she went off into the labyrinth. (Cue BGM: Kakusei by Rider Chips) Okay, now to get in. The gang then went into the labyrinth to see whoever caused this mess. No glint of fear visible from any of the gang's eyes, and they look determined. She had to deal with the culprit fast, and to kick his butt. After all, she still had a fight yet to be resolved. "After we're done with tis... I bet dat bird brain's still gunnin' on me. Let's save da world!" Ryoko exclaimed. With that, they entered the next stage of battle. Who knows who or what was waiting to them...

They've all got the same heartbeat, but her's is falling behind. AJ laid low on Patch's back as he sped around. They had made a couple of circles and she had noted the massive floating island in the middle of the decay. The crumbling earth and roots sticking out was an obvious sign that that particular piece of ground had been removed from the level they stood.
-Ave!! Did you see that too?! -
The blackette felt her partner's body tense up, but she quickly calmed him by putting a hand on his shoulder, the Digizoid cool beneath her gloved-clad fingers splayed across the sleek black cat. This would probably be the first time Tatsuya saw Patch in this form. The Crest of Wrath still burned against her chest.
Instead of the usual smile Tatsuya brought to her face when she saw the older teen, she sighed. "Yeah, we saw it. The earth is decaying," she replied, her tone indicating her sadness. "The others are here, aren't they?" she asked, gray-blue orbs dancing as they shifted their gaze across the barren wasteland. "Mana, Ryoko, and there are others too..."
It was comforting to know her friends were near, but also disconcerting to know that there were others out there she had no idea who they were or what their motives were. Hopefully to be on the same side. It was strange how tamers and partners all seemed to be drawn together for events such as these.
She shook her head, removing herself from her reverie and glanced down at Tatsuya from her perch on the Jagerloweemon, calling
"Oh, AJ, Mana-chin, Tacchan, ya here?!"
"Ryoko, me and Tatsuya are here! Where is Mana?" she asked. She felt a certain affection for the younger girl. Not in that sort of way...but as if she was an older sister, even though in all truth she was only a year or two older than Mana. It was just as Tatsuya was an older brother to her. They were quickly becoming...almost a family. Well, a family with weird monsters for pets.
Just then the ground began to rock back and forth and the teen let out a gasp, clinging to her partner. Sheer, rough hewn rock walls burst out of the ground around them. Now, she had no idea where Ryoko and Ryusei were or even Mana and her partner Ayaka. That also meant she had no idea where the other newcomers were. Luckily, it seemed her and Tatsuya had not been separated by the labyrinth-like construction. She nodded at Tatsuya, signaling she was ready to go if he was.

(Cue BGM: Fate of the Unknown) Tatsuya knew things were going bad when Avery didn't greet him with her usual smile, but rather with a sigh, telling him that the earth was decaying and revealing that both Mana and Ryoko were there as well. The teen looked shocked for a moment, but it was easy to guess that an event that escalated to such proportions drew closer many Tamers and Digimon. To be honest with himself, he hadn't expected to face whatever that was on his own, no. It was clear that he would have the help of the Cipriano. Their relationship had grown to the point where the young man considered her as a little sister, so he was concerned about her wellfare. Still, she had Patch, so... everything would be alright. At least, he wanted to think it'd be alright. Still, they didn't have the time to wait for Ryoko and Ryusei. With them being much stronger, they'd be able to catch up with them, so... -Avery, we're going to go up there. Can Patch fly, or do you want a lift? MetalGreymon X will take us up there in a flash... I just hope returning will be as easy as... wait, what?! -the teen was interrupted by walls quickly forming around them and separating him from the italian girl. They were rapidly ascending, and they'd trap them should they stop moving, that was why Tatsuya reacted fast. -Let's go! We can't let ourselves be catched by these things! -the human shouted, his partner using its rockets at maximum speed to escape the enclosing of the stone formations. They were about to make it, when the ceiling began forming too. However, they weren't just going to give it up, not right there! They needed to find the source of all that corruption and destruction of the land. -Oh, no, you don't! Horn Drill Ω! -the giant dragon began spinning, grabbing Tatsuya with his organic arm as the latter braced himself, preparing for the impact. There was a point where the ceiling was about to be connected, so that meant it was an exploitable weak spot. The Chrome Digizoid horn collided with the aforementioned point, struggling a little, but managing to break it and fly past it before it closed once again. They had been lucky and escaped that trap... but what about the others? Suddenly, a feeling of guilt began eating away in Tatsuya's mind. -Ave! AVE! -he growled loudly, attempting to reach the italian girl. -I can't go back in! I'm outside, so just find Ryoko and try to get out of there! We'll go up to the fortress! -the teen yelled, the metallic dragon then shooting off to the skies, attempting to reach the unknown culprit's fortress. A few boulders were flying after being separated from the fortress's structure, falling around them, with MetalGreymon X doing his best to dodge and break them. As soon as he avoided the hazardous field of rocks, the Ultimate managed to reach the structure, directing itself to it in a flash. As soon as they got there... a battle had already begun. Tatsuya could see a mysterious, black, angel-goat like Digimon attempting to slice its opponent. Standing back at least for the time being, the young man watched carefully. The assailant had teleported next to its "prey"... he needed to take that into account.
