Once Crystal started digging, Beverly nodded before running off. For now, Sanoske was left alone. He sat notCrystal down, and she began to walk at a brisk pace. Given its short legs, by the time she got to the target building the others should be in their positions as well. ---
notCrystal reached the building, looking up it and put on a worried face. This was the first real test to see how Sanoske's acting chops handled in the field.
"Pure! I know you're in there, brother! Give him back to me! I'll... I'll do anything I need to to get him back..."
She fell onto her knees, sobbing a bit. "Please..."

Crystal gave a sigh of relief. It took some time, but she finally finished getting the tunnel ready. It's pretty hard making a tunnel deep enough that Pure wouldn't be able to hear it, while making it large and safe enough for Sanoske to make through. Now to tell Sanoske that she's ready, and they can proceed with the plan.
She quickly made her way back, and popped up from the tunnel's entrance next to Sanoske. "Okay Sanoske. The tunnel is ready. Send the other..." She stopped herself as she noticed that notCrystal wasn't there, "Uhh... Where's the other me?"
Mel looked up to see the blips on his monitor. Seems like they have finally decided to come back. Well good thing he is finally ready. Now to see what exactly their plan is, because he highly doubted that begging at his door is it.
The door opened to reveal the Terriermon with a smirk on his face. "You'll do anything you say. Are you sure about that?" He looked down at the illusion with some curiosity on his face, "Does that mean your willing to take his place?"
Mel. What do you think your doing? If you lay a hand on her...
You'll what? Take your body back from me. We both know who has all the cards in their hands. Now just sit back and watch. Mel interrupted, completely unfazed by Pure's threats.

Sanoske had saw Crystal reappear and ask where the other her was. Sanoske was put in an awkward situation, although not for the reason Crystal may have imagined.
Sanoske wanted to tell her that he sent her ahead. Since notCrystal merely walked there, Crystal would have had plenty of time for the tunnel, and that notCrystal had only just moments ago made contact with Mel. But in Sanoske's eagerness and, probably to his admittance, he didn't put in much foresight of what having notCrystal, a highly accurate replication of Crystal as a dirt container who had to speak, see, and hear for him and yet be aware of his own surroundings would do to him.
Sanoske pointed in the direction of where the building was, and then made a very simplified, and slightly shaky illusion of notCrystal having just met Mel. The figures and surroundings were single colored, but discernible.
He then pointed to his throat and shook his head, only uttering out a barely audible rasp of a growl.
----
notCrystal looked up to Mel, knowing that Sanoske needed to waste time.
"Take Pure's place? I free my brother... by taking his place?"
There was a pause, not so much 'deciding', but 'conflicted' over the matter.

So he had already sent her double out there then. It was slightly frustrating seeing how she specifically asked Sanoske to wait for her signal. That way she would know when exactly he is distracted. There's no use crying about it now though. She had to use the time she had left in order to get back as soon as she can. Who knows how much longer she may truly have?
The smirk on Pure's face grew ever wider as he saw the copy look conflicted over the matter. "Yep. You could take his place? It'd be that easy." Mel took a few steps closer to notCrystal, having the door close behind him as he did so. "Though if you don't want to, then that's understandable too. It's not exactly an easy choice to make."
Crystal poked her head out from under the building. Her breathing was ragged as she had basically run all the way over here and finish digging her tunnel. Hopefully Mel won't end up noticing. Once she had caught her breath, she saw many different types of scientific devices that she couldn't quite understand. What was that Hylden doing in here?

notCrystal took a few fearful steps backwards, looking worried. Give Crystal a few more precious moments and have the Hylden think he has the upper hand.
"I... I don't know. I want Pure to be free... but if you took over my body... I know he'd constantly worry about me. He'd try to get you back so that I'd be free... and in the end nothing would really matter.
Why... why are you putting us through this? I just want my brother back! Why are you using him!?"

Crystal looked around the lab to find some clue what any of this stuff is. There was ton of mechanical and scientific stuff around this room, but she couldn't make any sense of it. She hated feeling so stupid.
"So she decided not to tell you why after all. I wonder why?" Mel said as notCrystal appeared not to know why he took her brother away from her, "Oh well. You'll find out soon enough. Until then, how about we chat for a bit. I'm sure whatever plan you cooked up requires you to stall for time." Despite hinting that he knows what exactly is going on, Mel seemed pretty nonchalant. Unnervingly so, in fact. What did he have planned?

"She?"
There was legitimate surprise in notCrystal hearing this comment. But in the end it confirmed who Ghost's mystery source was: Vetina. Ghost had described the palmon as an odd character early in their travels, explaining how Vetina, Ghost, and her Mistress knew each other (although Ghost never mentioned Beverly's amnesiac period). It was the best explanation Sanoske could come up with for why Vetina hadn't told Ghost everything.
Sanoske had to get back on the ball, though, as Mel had "figured out" that notCrystal was stalling.
"And... I'm not stalling for anything. I just want Pure safe."
It was better to calmly deny the stalling. Either the Hylden would believe her, or act like he believed her. As long as there was reasonable uncertainty in notCrystal's actions, they had some pull in the matter.

"Of course your not. You just thought you could go all this way by yourself and try to convince me to give your brother back. Despite it not working the first time you were here." Mel just shrugged as he decided to change the topic, "So out of curiosity, and seeing how your not willing to sacrifice yourself, who are you willing to sacrifice in order to save your brother? Surely you know that nothing is ever free. Not even me stealing your brother. So what are you willing to offer for his stead." Mel paused for a second as he had an idea, "How about that Gazimon friend of yours? That seems like it would be an equal trade."

notCrystal sighed and looked down. Well, if this Hylden was willing to play along, and was convinced that there was no plan that would help in this situation, Sanoske would simply oblige.
The subject of sacrifice was brought up. notCrystal brought her head up and shook it.
"I'd do anything for my brother. But... but even I know that he wouldn't just sit by while I was possessed, just like I couldn't just sit by and watch you possess my brother. In the end nothing would change...
But the Gazimon... "
Sanoske fudged up Crystal's plan enough. The hylden couldn't possess notCrystal nor Sanoske anyway; that said Sanoske had to wait by the hole Crystal made, just in case. Even if Sanoske did manage to get the Hylden out of Pure's body and rescued him, he'd be leaving Crystal alone. And if anything happened to her... no, he's not going to leave from this spot.
"You never answered my question... why did you take over Pure's body? Sanoske is a dear friend of mine and I... what are you doing with Pure?"

Mel just shook his head as Crystal questioned him yet again why he stole her brother. "Spoilers. I told you already that you will find out here soon. About five minutes to be exact. Now how about you tell me more about this Gazimon of yours. You two must be close. I mean why else would he travel with someone as worthless as you for so long?" Mel asked trying to get a reaction from Crystal. This all seems to have just been a game for him.
Crystal has been carefully listening to Mel talk as she's been looking through all his stuff. She was curious what exactly he could of meant when he said they'll find out in five minutes. Was he planning on using something in this lab? There did seem to be a few things that are charging up, yet how could it tell them why he stole her brother? What did any of this even do?
Should she attack him now, or wait it out to see what exactly he has planned?

There was a hint of restrained anger coming from notCrystal, although it would be fibbing to say it was all acting. He had to stick to the plan and not ruin it because some jerk insulted his girl. Her fists were clenched, but only for a moment. There was a defeated look from the fake Lopmon, helpless in this current situation.
But what could Sanoske actually do? He couldn't leave and have the Hylden go back into the building with Crystal, and Sanoske couldn't leave the hole. He had to do something and the hylden might get too annoyed with the stalling...
So, Sanoske took to the hole to offer Crystal any potential aid as notCrystal replied. "I'll chat with you... for my brother. But I swear, if you try anything I'll... I'll..."
It was an empty threat, just as Sanoske wanted it to be.

"You'll what? Attack your brother?" He asked with a sly smile on his face, "Come on. We both know who has all the cards here. Now then. I guess we have enough time for me to monologue for a bit." Pure stretched as he looked around.
"So how much do you know about us Hyldens anyway? Surely Vetina and that Ghost you were with should have told you at least a bit about us. Unless they had decided to throw you in head first without any clue what I really was, which, if so, I have to tell them good show. Their lack of care for you in this situation has proven to show no bounds." Mel finished with a small applause, "Y'know. I'm kindof curious why they decided to let you go on your own in the first place. They must know that I'm not the safest person for you to be around, yet none of your backup seems to be here. Are they hiding in town? Keeping a close eye on you to make sure nothing happens. Or have they actually abandon you after your failed attempt to just rush me down?"

The monologue... cartoonish is what came to mind as Mel gave his spiel. Cartoonish, and smug. But he was working that to his favor so far.
"My friends care about me! I just wanted to try to get Pure back without anyone getting hurt! And Vetina isn't even around. I hadn't seen her since... since the night you took my brother."
Sanoske wasn't too sure of the perceived relationship Ghost and Vetina had in that Hylden's eyes, but beyond being tipped off (and only today realizing who it was who gave the tip), Sanoske and Crystal hadn't been with Vetina since Pure was taken over. As far as Sanoske was concerned, Vetina had her own issues with him and had no wish to directly help the group for whatever reason.
"I don't know much about you Hylden, but that doesn't matter. You took my brother from me!
I know he's in there, somewhere. I know he's not completely gone. That's why I wanted to come here alone.
And besides... I have faith in Pure. He wouldn't hit me."

"He wouldn't, would he?' Mel asked, "Even if it were to ultimately save your life." Mel had to admit that he was pretty tempted to punch notCrystal at this point, but decided not to. It just wasn't his style to hit a defenseless woman like that.
"Well anyways. Our world is more of a prison then anything else. Slowly wearing on our bodies and our sanity. We only wish to escape, yet the only way we can exist in this world is if we possess the bodies of this world's inhabitants." Mel explained to her, "And just to put this in perspective for you. If a rookie like you were to ever enter our world, you'll find yourself quickly being sapped of all strength your body has to the point where you'll end up in a coma til the world eventually kills you."
Mel looked over at the building for a second before turning his attention back to the fake Crystal. "Hmm... I suspect we have about 1 minute left. Any other questions you wish to share with us before the fireworks begin?"

Sanoske was very glad notCrystal wasn't punched. It would take all his concentration and strength to prevent her from dissipating, leaving only a mound of dirt.
And now was the interesting part... the Hylden world was a prison that wore down their bodies, to the point where even existing here required possession. A "rookie" like notCrystal would be unable to withstand the environment. Sanoske thought back to Ghost, who said she got her data from a Hylden Beverly killed. Perhaps he had similar aspirations of escape.
Perhaps it was too soon to trust his story, but at the moment there was no reason to think he was lying. But something seemed... off.
It was almost time, and notCrystal didn't ask the Hylden anything more at the moment This feeling he had couldn't be articulated well enough given current circumstances. Sanoske just had to continue to play along.
