So Mel *didn't* know right off what the device looked like. Behind his sunglasses Rippah's eyes rolled a bit. They were here to save his sister, and Rippah believed that Mel truly wanted this. But the secretiveness he displayed wasn't particularly helpful. But judging from this action, as well as the fact that they stood in a hidden facility he and his sister built, perhaps being secretive is just what he is.
Reasonably, the fact that Mel refused to separate from Pure brought up some flags for Rippah and Crystal.
Mel did, however, find the containment device (Rippah could only hope), but Rippah couldn't let his concern be pushed aside. His sister and Crystal were a part of this too, and as Lezard once said, "Nothing worse than a head full of questions and concerns." Granted, he was referring to novels but it seemed that it was applicable here too.
"Mel, coming from one brother to... a set of brothers... I really need you to be honest here. Now is not the time for secrets. I'm going out of my here to help a friend help you guys, my sister is going to let a digimon, your sister, inside her for some time, and you have been causing Crystal grief with using her brother's body as a suit.
We're all siblings here, putting our lives on the line to help you and your sister. If we're going to help, being vague isn't going to benefit us. So have you been fully truthful with us?"
Rippah wasn't suspecting that Mel was stuck with Pure, but the WeskerGarurumon was, indeed, concerned with Mel.

Mel paused for a moment as Rippah decided to press matters even further. This put him in a tough spot. He rather not hear Pure and the other's complaining about the truth, but he also needed Rippah and Crystal to be on his side for this to work. He gave a deep sigh as he came to his decision.
"Seeing how we have some time to kill. I guess this is as good of a time as any to have Pure tell you what's going on. Just keep the argument short, alright." Mel then took a deep breath as he and Pure switched places. Crystal taking notice of the minor physical changes that usually follow from such changes.
"Pure? What was Mel talking?" Crystal asked her brother with worry in her voice.
Pure couldn't even look his sister in the eyes as he tried to figure out how to best explain the situation Mel and Pure currently found themselves in. "I'm sorry Crys. I was hoping to not to have to tell you this." He began, his body language telling everyone exactly how uncomfortable he was speaking about this.
"Tell me what? Just spit it out already." Crystal demanded, reaching her wits end.
"Mel and I... We're... We're stuck together. To the core."
"What are you saying? That your..."
"While we remain two separate entities, it'll be impossible for us to ever separate again. At least not without dealing severe damage to our data in the process. Or at least that's what Mel told me."
"And your just going to accept his..."
"Crys! I can feel it. He's not lying."
The room went silent as Crystal took the moment to absorb all this in. She wanted nothing more then to get her brother back. But now... She may never even get that chance.

As the room went silent, Rippah scratched his head. Eventually, he gave a sharp inhale, an breathed out.
"...well... this is quite awkward.
How exactly did this happen? I mean, my sister *did* volunteer to be host to your sister. And I'd like to think that you'd wouldn't have Tab make a new body for Celeste just to have her keep Cuttah's body.
And I doubly doubt that you want Cuttah to be her permanent body."

Pure looked over at Rippah as he voiced his worry about the same situation occurring to Cuttah. "I'm... I'm not Mel, you know. So it's his sister that Cuttah's being a host too. Not mine. Also I don't believe you have anything to worry about as what happened to us is kind of unique." He told Rippah as he tried to find the right words to say what he needed to say. Pure then took a deep breath as he glanced over at Crystal before continuing.
"There was this gun that Mel created in order to fend off any Hylden interference with his plan. The whole idea was that the gun would weaken a Hylden to the point where it wouldn't be able to do much. Yet what he didn't expect was the long term effect if one was constantly shot by the gun." Pure could see Crystal's eyes widen as she figured out where this is all going, "It weakened Mel to the point where his data violently reacted and began merging with my own. Which means we're not able to separate our forms anymore. On the upside though, Mel isn't able to forcibly take control anymore. So that's a silver lining right?"
Crystal seemed completely dumb struck by the news she just received. This was all her fault. In her attempt to save her brother, she only ended up dooming him forever. How could she possibly have done something like this?

(((DAMNIT STOP RPING OFF MY MISTAKES)))
Rippah listened to Pure talk about how him and Mel were now fused together, and looking at Crystal, it seems that she was inadvertently responsible for this. At least he didn't have to worry about Celeste and Cuttah merging.
Although things seem awfully awkward for Crystal now. It was especially hard for Rippah to break the silence this time.
Rippah heard a noise... it was coming from the entrance the others had went through.
"Guys, we'll have to settle this later... looks like we're found out..." What what unnerving was that whoever was coming, they certainly was taking their time. Could it have been Vetina? No... from the footsteps he could tell there were multiple digimon coming, and Vetina didn't walk as heavily as these.
The door opened, and leading the group of 3 digimon was a MagnaAngemon. However, a glance at his face would show a few green veins near his chin, and he wore a heavy cloak over his right arm. Judging from the shape, though, Rippah could tell something was off about it, seeing the cloth give slightly to underlying writhing.
To one side was a hunchbacked Gorillamon, with various growths all over his body. To the other, a brown, somewhat shriveled Togemon without any needles.
He looked over at Rippah and Pure, and then over to Pure, figuring out which digimon was the one that housed Mel based on reports he's received, as well as assuming that a Terriermon would, of course, digivolve into a Gargomon. And he spoke with a stern, but calm tone, maybe even a bit tired.
"It's been a while. I'd figure it would be a good idea to leave Celeste alone..."

((Aww... But where's the fun in that XD))
There was no time for Crystal to feel bad for herself as both Pure and her began to hear noises from up above. Someone appeared to have managed to break into the vault. No. Not just someone. At least three different people are coming down the ladder right this minute.
"So it appears Mel has betrayed us after all." Crystal pointed as she waited for bated breath for what was coming.
Pure expression darkened as Mel took control over his body. "Oh please... Are you still on that? When on earth would I have the chance to even make arrangements for something like that without your brother noticing?" He kept a close eye on the door as the intruders came ever closer.
Soon the door opened to reveal three Hylden were there. A MagnaAngemon, Gorillamon, and a Togemon. All of whom with obvious grotesque mutations all over their bodies. The leader among them then spoke.
"Oh has it now? I'm sorry, but who are you again? And why do I deserve the pleasure?" Mel asked nonchalantly. A small smirk on his face revealed to Crystal that he had some type of plan in mind. Or at least was playing off like he had one.

The Angemon sighed, obviously not amused at Mel's words. Rippah could just feel an eye-roll from him.
"I'm afraid your attempts at humor have not improved, and in fact have become more ill-placed. It's become quite difficult to justify to the others to keep you alive."
"Just who are you, anyway? How did you..."
"...find this place? Given the... unfortunate climate of us Hyldens, it's not entirely unheard of to have 'independents' working out of another lab like this... a long range metal detector helps.
As for who I am... without getting into details you can consider me one of the leaders of the Hyldens.
And given my position, Mel, you've really put me in a tight spot. I very much would like to minimize the death's of those in our 'race'. I very much wanted all who are able to work together to find away out of this place safely, without all the sabotage or secrets.
Frankly, I am unsure what to do with you. I understand that you are not altogether forgiving of us for your sister's condition, but I do find it quite odd that your plans seem to run parallel to ours in our save escape from this prison."
Rippah looked at Mel, then at the MagnaAngemon. Similar plans?
"What's this about your plans? Forgive me for being ignorant but I'm not exactly familiar with everything going on."
"I'm not surprised. Mel was the type who kept to himself. He stole some technology from us. One of which is a data extractor. It was initially used to extract data from the first of us to escape in relative safety from this place. The one named Vetina... well, I am unsure if you know of the original Vetina, but before we could use it on the second Vetina, Mel had already taken it."

"Well I had need for that device, but let's face facts. You wouldn't have given it to me if I had just asked." Mel pointed out with a shrug, "It's not exactly my fault that I was put in such a desperate situation."
Crystal glanced angrily at Mel before returning her attention back the the MagnaAngemon. "I'm sorry, but I'm confused. So why exactly did either of you needed that device to harvest data from Vetina anyways?" She asked trying to figure out what exactly this is all leading up to.

"I'm a bit confused... there's more than one Vetina?" Rippah added in. The Angemon answered matter of fact-ly. He wasn't at all trying to be menacing or imposing. He was, as it were, simply answering questions. However, this gave the Angemon ample time to reflect on how to deal with all of them.
"As the first of us to escape and be reborn, we initially wanted to extract her data to find out how we could do the same. As Hylden, our data is so altered, that were we to die our data would not be "recycled". However, Vetina's rebirth shown us that rebirth was possible... if extremely lucky. She was the first to successfully escape... but far from the first to attempt it.
Celeste was the one was sent to extract her data. We had to persuade her, but eventually did what was told of her. Unfortunately, that Vetina died. Celeste did not expound on her death, but for a little while, we thought that was it.
But we soon found out that the data from the original Vetina infected someone else. Judging from reports and her current appearance, we can assume that the data infected a BlackGabumon who was courting her at the time.
Herein lies a breakthrough... Some mutation in Vetina's Hylden data coupled with her data as a Palmon allowed her to overtake another digimon. We may be able to possess others in the digital world proper, but we risk physical alterations to our hosts that would cause us to stand out.
However, as strange as Vetina may appear, it is better that what we can do... a permanent possession without fear of the host waking up, as well as a more... pleasing appearance, one without various deformities. Were we able to fully understand her data, we can convert our own and safely walk among the normal digimon. And we are close to doing as such.
As much as I would like to avoid possession, our data is no longer capable of existing long outside this area. The next best thing is to use another digimon. Another machine Mel stole from us allows a Hylden to be inserted into a host body, regardless of the condition of the Hylden.
I would assume that Mel had the same idea as we did. Were he less stubborn I'd assume we wouldn't be here in the first place."

"That's... That's just disgusting!" Crystal said as she began to tell off the MagnaAngemon, "I know this place is no paradise. Yet you are willing to steal the bodies of so many other digimon, essentially killing them, just so you can exist on the other side. Can't you see what's wrong with that."
Crystal had some hope that this MagnaAngemon may be working on another way for them to leave this place. But no. He was just as bad as the rest of them. How do any of them deserve to leave this place if forced possession is the they could think of?
"Turuiemon. Shut it." Mel yelled at Crystal. She looked at Mel with anger in her eyes. The last thing she needed was him telling her to shut it. "Now then. If I may ask, have you shared any of this with Vetina yet?" He then asked the MagnaAngemon as he began to pace over to a nearby console.

The other two digimon to the sides of the MagnaAngemon looked a little miffed when Crystal shown her displeasure at their plan. But the leader rose his left hand up to silence them.
"Let me address something first, Mel. And I suggest you stand still..."
He then turned to Crystal, frowning. There was a pause before he spoke, as if to ensure he wouldn't act out too much. He needed to remain calm as he told her what he needed to tell her.
"Be in my shoes for a little while. Imagine being stuck in a place like this for years. Imagine seeing the weaker digimon slowly whither away into mush. And the ones that do survive little more than mutated vegetables laying about. Imagine seeing the rest of us slowly mutate, some to the point of not being able to recognize clearly what they once were.
Imagine watching our numbers drop off in attempt of escaping. Even the strongest of us who escaped was killed, and how that eroded morale even more. Imagine having to consolidate split efforts to escape, some going as far as to sabotage others for some petty reason."
The MagnaAngemon lifted up his right arm, letting his hand slip out of the cloak... although it could barely be called a hand. A mass of foul looking tentacles surrounding what can only be called vague, pale green fingertips. The arm itself was long, able to easily reach his foot.
"Disgusting? As if you have any frame of reference of what we've gone through. Any inkling of the bitter losses I've had to see time and time again. But if I have to be the villain in your eyes, so be it.
As for Vetina... judging from your question, it seems that not only is she here, but it is curious as to why she would not be here with you. But, I admit, she is a hard one to follow.
In any case, what do you plan on doing? Perhaps you plan on some great escape? I wouldn't want to damage a facility such as this, but if I must fight, I will. Ideally, I'd just take all three of you in."
At some point, however, perhaps Crystal and Mel might hear a distant hatch opening. Not the one the others went through, but an alternate entrance.

"Oh sure. I won't move from this spot." Mel retorted as he began secretly typing something into the console as MagnaAngemon began going on and on about how his people are in pain and how Crystal didn't know what it was like and yadayadayada. Mel could honestly care less. It was obvious to him now that MagnaAngemon wasn't going to let them free. So it was time to begin the fail safe.
Crystal, meanwhile, had a dark look in her eye as she listened to Magna speak. She was quickly reaching her wits end. "Perhaps I may not fully understand what your people are going through, but I am fully aware of what lost is." She began as she took a step torward, "I watch as my friends and family got slaughtered by right in front of my eyes. And not just by f**king bandits, but by my own hands as I lost myself to a darkness deep within me. The only family I have left is my brother who was taken away from me by that degenerate over there and I live in fear of him taking Pure away again for whatever scheme he has planned next. Then there's my boyfriend who any day could end up having to face his past and could end up fading into nothingness because of it.
"So yeah. I do think I have an inkling of the lost you have suffered. It's a very similar lost that I'm trying to prevent right now." Crystal was breathing pretty heavily after that as some tears formed at the edge of her eyes. That was a lot of pent up emotion unleashed all at once for her.
"So... That was a thing." Mel said overtaken by Crystal's outburst. He really did hope that Crystal understood how big of a threat MagnaAngemon can truly be. And he wasn't the only one. He could feel Pure was shaken by the speech as well. It seemed the Terriermon didn't understood the true extent on how everything weighed on his sister.
"Moving on. Why would I discuss my plans with you? Oh that's right. You might actually wish to know this. You see, I'm pretty sure your aware that this was made to be a little makeshift medical center for our people. Well when me and Celeste was building this place, we decided to equip a little emergency measure that's able to eliminate all organic data within the compounds of this area in order to eliminate the risk of some deadly contagion from getting out. And, I may be no biologist like my sis over there, but I do believe we all are made of organic data in this room. So then. Shall we declare this a stalemate, or mutually assured destruction? I'm waiting." Mel told MagnaAngemon with a smirk on his face. A finger hovering ominously hovering over a key waiting for the leaders response.

The MagnaAngemon seemed unfazed with Crystal's outburst (although Rippah himself was a bit surprised, and felt more like an outsider in this than before. And he really, really hoped that Mel was bluffing. ). He also seemed unfazed by Mel's contingency plan. However, his minions seemed a bit worried. Again, he spoke to Crystal first.
"Far be it for me to brush aside any grave, personal suffering you've went through, to be honest... were I not in my current position I'd rather you all leave.
But I can't do that. Mel is proof enough that Hylden unity is fragile at best, and non-existent at worst... although Mel is particularly infamous for his lack of positive social skills. I cannot afford to just let you all leave, all the same.
Also, I'm not particularly convinced that there's such an emergency measure for such an isolated, hidden facility.
Even if I did let you go, as soon as you're sufficiently far enough from the control panel, nothing is keeping us from capturing your.
Or perhaps we go away and just wait for you to exit and capture you..."
There was a faint hiss from some distance away, the noise of decontamination, and seconds later, another door opened. Stepping through behind Mel's group was Vetina, still in her LeviaRanamon form. Looking at the scene, she couldn't help but to chuckle. Rippah looked back at her, wondering how she got here when she ran off. Even if she did see the others, chances are they would have seen her as well.
Although Rippah was unfamiliar with the capabilities of this form of hers, one of which renders her near invisible. Once everyone was inside, it was just a matter of time and water powers to search for an alternate entrance.
"Vetina..."
"Aye, aye, that shaved 'saviour'. The miracle, even. Where does your feet lie in your hierarchy, you feel grander..."
"... effectively one of the leaders."
Vetina digivolved to her Miagemon form, giving the MagnaAngemon a menacing look as she twirled around her finger a charging energy pistol.
"You wish to kill the ones involved with stealing your data, is that it? Well, it seems that we are truly at an impasse."
The Angemon, despite his calm demeanor, was very nervous. He was in a situation he couldn't win and didn't expect Vetina to come. Still, he had a trump card now that she was here.
He merely made a gesture over to Mel. Vetina, at the very least, heard his threat of mutually assured destruction. But she wasn't worried.
"Forthright and correct. Now... who do I shoot?"
"Mel knows. He just found out who, too."
"Him? He'll state his charred pants was arson to get a new pair on someone else's bill. I'd rather you."

Mel gave a small shrug as Vetina said that Mel couldn't exactly be taken by his word. "She has a point. My word is as reliable as someone's who believes there life is in danger." Mel pointed out with a smug look on his face.
He knew full well that MagnaAngemon was stuck in a pickle. No matter what he answer, it would be brought under heavy scrutiny. Especially if he decided to try to point the finger at Celeste. And if by the small chance that Vetina does believe him, Mel still has his backup plan.
"Geez... Could this room get any more tense?" Crystal then commented, feeling like she's in the middle of some type of mexican standoff.

"Tense? Well, looks like the overwound surrounds me. But I feel loose. Cheery even. I hardly acquainted myself where my next step will lay."
Rippah glanced at the ever smug Mel. One would think he wouldn't be so careless.
Vetina continued to twirl her pistol, almost elated. Crazy Hyldens, Rippah thought. Always have to be so weird about things.
"So relay to me the subject of my ire?"
"As you did ask... the one who caused your original Vetina such pain is Celeste over there."
Vetina glanced over at the comatose Celeste, and then turned around, facing the others.
"Fine then. Crystal... who rings false... Is Celeste the one? And please, I'd appreciate a sweet truth. I tire of finding myself a tool."
