Earlier in the morning, Kirito awoke to the sound of his mother calling out to him. "Kirito, I am heading to work now. I won't be back until late so I left some money on the counter so you can order in." He didn't reply but his mother must have assumed that he had heard because immediately after speaking, he heard the door close. Climbing out of bed and exiting his room, he walked down the hallway into the kitchen and lounge area where he saw a note attached to some money with a paper clip. He walked over to it, rubbing his eyes because he was still barely awake and gradually read the letter, often having to repeat a word due to his hazy vision at that time.
In case you didn't hear me when I left, I will be home late tonight. Here is some money to order in, just don't order in from that sushi place down the road. Kirito grumbled when he finished reading the letter. "But I like that place." He stated, placing the letter and money down on the kitchen bench before extending his arms out to stretch and yawn at the same time. Looking over at the kitchen sink, he noticed a small pile of dishes that hadn't been washed up yet, it looked like it may have been from the meal last night but some things were knew so it was likely his mother and father's breakfast dishes. Being kind as usual, he strode over to the kitchen sink and turned on the tap, setting it to the right temperature before placing the plug and some dish washing liquid in. Once the sink was full, he began to wash up. It only took him about ten minutes to wash all the dishes and just as he had finished, Terriermon had exited his room and bounced up onto the kitchen bench. "Why up so early?" He asked, his words mumbling as he rubbed his eyes, only just having woken up. "I heard mum leave." He stated, emptying the sink and turning to his Digimon partner. "You woke me up." Terriermon yawned, extending his arms out to stretch. "Sorry." He replied and Terriermon simply shook his head, jumping off the counter and landing on his Tamer's shoulders. "What are we going to do to day?" He asked, a curious expression on his face. Kirito looked up at his Digimon and smiled. "How about we go do some shopping?" He asked, his Digimon responding with a nod. Kirito knew that the cupboards were beginning to empty out, the only food that was around the house were cans of fruit and other things that had passed their expiration date. Normally their house would be full of food, but his mother and father had both been working so much lately that by the time that they got home, a majority of the stores were closed. Taking the money off the bench, Kirito made his way back to his room with his Digimon still on his shoulder, walking in and turning to the walk-in wardrobe where he pulled out an old shoe box. As he lifted the lid off of the shoebox, Terriermon's eyes widened in surprise. "M-money?" He asked slightly confused at the large pile of notes and coins inside. "Yeah, this is all the money my mum and dad have given me to buy meals and such, but I never use it." He said, taking out a few piles of notes and counting it in his hands. "You hide it?" Kirito nodded. "Because I often have people at school asking me to hack things for them, I generally charge." He stated, making sure to have a minimum of $200 before closing the lid and placing it back into the wardrobe. "So I don't need my parents money when it comes to things like meals or clothes." Terriermon arched his eyebrow at his Tamer. "So why don't you give it back?" Kirito smirked. "Because although my parents work a lot, we still sometimes struggle when it comes to paying bills or doing the regular grocery shopping. I hide it in case of emergencies like today. We have no food in the cupboards so I will do the grocery shopping as a kind gift as you would say. A nice little surprise." Terriermon smiled and moved his ears forward, pressing them against Kirito's cheeks so that they would squish together. "That is so cute, in a sense you are taking care of the family. How cute!" Kirito nudged Terriermon away so that he would let go of his face, stepping out of the walk-in wardrobe before stepping back into his room to find something to wear. "How much is in there?" Terriermon asked, leaping off of his Tamer's shoulders and landing gracefully on the bed. "Last I checked, about $12,000." He stated as if it were nothing, finding a pair of pants on the floor that he sniffed for a moment to make sure they were clean and then threw them on. Terriermon's jaw almost dropped to the floor when Kirito had said how much money was in the shoebox, but before he could say anything because he was stunned, Kirito was already dressed in a dark pair of jeans, black converse shoes and a white singlet top, taking hold of Terriermon to leave. After leaving their building and catching the bus, it probably only took about 20 minutes for them to get to the mall, typing up a shopping list on his laptop during the trip. He pressed the send button on the screen and then closed his laptop, placing it back into his bag just as a chiming sound erupted from his pocket. Reaching inside, he found the D-Terminal where he had sent himself an email with the shopping list, the device far easier to carry around than a laptop. The two of them began walking up to one of the main entrances, the D-Terminal in one hand as he double checked it and Terriermon in the opposite arm, pretending to be a stuffed animal. He walked past a couple of ladies smoking cigarettes outside who were talking amongst themselves, only to have spotted Kirito. "Oh look, a boy with a stuffed animal, how... odd." Was all he heard and chose to continue walking and ignoring what they had said.

As usual in the Evans household, Scout is the first to awaken, brimming with energy from the moment he awakens. And so, naturally, everyone else in the Evans household is awake only minutes later, when they hear the oh-so-familiar sound of Scout racing barefoot around the kitchen to make breakfast for himself. Oh. And the yelp.
“Nononononono!”
His parents, too used to Scout being...Scout, continue to lie in their bed. His younger brother, however, comes running out of his room, looking startled!
“What's wrong?!”
“There's no popcorn left! What'm I gonna have for breakfast?”
His brother stares, incredulous for a moment, before turning on his heel and slowly walking back into his room and closing the door with a sigh. Sometimes it seems like Scout is the more immature of the two. Popcorn for breakfast, who ever heard of such a ridiculous thing!
Scout pads back to his bedroom and closes the door, immediately searching around for clothing in a panic. Kid has strange priorities, it seems. His new Digimon companion opens a red eye, and glares at the teenager. “Kid, do you have any idea what time it is? The hell are you making such a racket for?”
“Oh! BlackAgu—Oh, sorry. BlackKoromon. Sorry buddy, I didn't think,” He drops what he's holding, “Did I wake you?”
“Obviously, Kid. So, come on. What's the fuss? Something attacking?”
“Hunger! We're out of popcorn, BlackKoromon!”
There's a moment of complete silence in the room, before the response comes, “Why, in the name of Yggdrasil, do you want popc—you know what, nevermind. I don't think I'm gonna understand,” He sighs, and stretches his antenna out, slowly coming to terms with being conscious.
“Well, breakfast's the most important meal of the day!” Scout replies, as though that's any kind of answer, yanking on his pants and searching through his closet for something else. Oh, one of these fifty-odd white t-shirts will do. His green hoodie comes next, the hood obviously pulled up to protect him from...the elements? The media? Protect him from common sense, maybe.
BlackKoromon grunts, wondering when the hell his life became so...odd. Fighting mechanical birds seems like an everyday activity, compared to the things Scout often gets exicted over. He hops over to the boy's green and black satchel, eyeing it for a moment or two, contemplating. “If I come with you, you have to buy me chocolate,”
“Ooh! That's a good idea! We can melt chocolate over popcorn!” Scout dances excitedly on the spot. His comrade stares for a few moments, before sighing and hopping into the bag, getting himself comfortable for the journey ahead. Scout snatches up his bag, and practically sprints from the house, trying to burn off some of his ridiculous energy.
The closest grocery store is the one in the mall, and fortunately it only takes a few minutes to get there. Unfortunately, however, he almost runs straight into a blonde boy, around his own age and his...pet...dog...rabbit. Wait, no, it's a toy. Wait, no, you're being rude. He ignores the grunt of discomfort from his bag as he suddenly changes direction to avoid slamming headfirst into the other teen, “Ohmigod, I'm so sorry! Ah, I'm usually more careful than that! Are you okay? I didn't catch you, did I?” TAKE. A. BREATH.

Kirito had managed to step out of the way just at the last minute, only feeling the breeze from the young man's momentum pass him. "Yeah I am fine, you didn't get me." He stated before feeling a slight tugging at his pants. Kirito looked down and although the others around him could not see it, Terriermon was using the top of his ear to pull at Kirito's pocket of his pants. This was generally a sign that something was up, but he chose to ignore it before turning back to the man. "It is all good, don't worry about it." He said before turning his attention back to his D-Terminal, viewing his shopping list. Another tug could be felt, a little more force in it that time and yet, he still chose to ignore it.
Frustrated with his Tamers ability to ignore him, Terriermon pulled with his ear a little harder this time that resulted in Kirito's pants to fall down to his ankles, standing in a singlet top, black briefs and a bunny in arm. Kirito's face went bright red and although to everyone else it seemed like his pants had just fallen down, Kirito knew it was his Digimon partner. The ladies who were smoking began to laugh as he bent forward, picking up his pants with one arm and using the moment to listen to what Terriermon had to say. "He has a Digimon." Terriermon whispered, barely moving his lips. Kirito, a little surprised, pulled his pants up, wiggling his thin waist into the pants before turning to the young man in front of him, only to quickly grab him by the arm and drag him along.
Dragging the young man around the corner where there were less people, Terriermon immediately jumped out of Kirito's arms and turned to the young man. "Terriermon are you sure?" He nodded. "Yep yep! He has a Digimon in his bag!" He said with a gleeful smile, always happy to make new friends. "Sorry about that, he's a bit determined... Which I might add..." Kirito turned to his Digimon partner and frowned. "Was there really a need to pull down my pants." Terriermon fell to the ground in laughter. "It was so funny, you should have seen your face!" Kirito simply rolled his eyes and turned back to the accused Tamer in front of him.

Scout offers another apologetic bow and smile, before starting to walk away. He does, however, catch sight of the other boy's pants falling down. Unfortunately, before he can formulate any kind of response beyond staring, his arm is grabbed and he's dragged away!
He doesn't resist, however, curious to see where this is going! Oh! His little dog...rabbit toy. It moves! Ooh, a Digimon, it's gotta be! His suspicions are, of course, confirmed when the creature begins to talk, and responds to a name with 'mon' at the end. Yes. Scout is learning, slowly.
"Ohhhh. Cool! You have a Digimon friend too," Scout's excited smile returns, "Or is he your...whatsitcalled. Uh. Partner!"
"Kid. Inside voice." A voice grumbles from his bag. Said satchel wriggles around a little before a soccer ball-sized black blob jumps out, and bounces down onto the floor, red eyes taking in both Kirito and Terriermon.
"Oh, right, right. Sorry. Uh. Yes, sorry about that. Hello! I'm Scout, and this is my buddy BlackKoromon. It's super nice to meet you both!"
There's that enthusiasm again, like a child in a candy store. He loves meeting new people, especially when they have Digimon with them, or know about all this crazy 'Digi' stuff. Scout initially reaches for his D-Scanner as a force of habit when encountering a Digimon, but then tries to hold out a hand to offer to Kirito, resulting in him juggling his D-Scanner from hand to hand, and finally offering the empty one to the blonde.

Kirito looked at the young man in front of him with an arched eyebrow, coming to the conclusion that the boy in front of him must be new to the Digital Monster thing... That was fine, Kirito wasn't all that experienced himself, in fact it has only been less than a week since he met his partner Digimon, Terriermon. "Yeah, both terms are correct." He stated, his Digimon walking up to the boy and sniffing the bag for a moment, only to jump back slightly when he heard a voice come from the bag.
Terriermon looked at the black Digimon that jumped out of the bag and looked at it curiously... "You call your Tamer a kid, you are pretty much one yourself." He said curiously. "You are at the In-Training level, right?"
"Well it is nice to meet another Tamer, my name is Kirito and this is Terriermon. Nice to meet you Scout and BlackKoromon." Terriermon waved with his ear, a gleeful manner on his face. "Hi Hi!"
Kirito extended his hand and shook the boys, taking note of the device that he seemed to jumble in his hand.

"Tamer?" Scout shakes the boy's hand a little longer than most people would, but then snaps his fingers and smiles again, "Ah! I'm not a Tamer. I'm a...Spirit Whosit. I use my D-Scanner to transform into a Digimon," He explains, waving the black and green device in his hand.
"...Please, please stop telling that to everyone we meet, as soon as they ask. One of these days, it'll bite you in the--"
"There's no harm in being honest!"
"Mrm. Regardless, no, I'm of the Rookie level, I simply degenerated to draw less attention to us while in the human world," BlackKoromon explains, "I'm a little bigger than Terriermon in my normal state, perhaps twice as tall,"
"It's so cool to meet someone else who knows about all this stuff!" Scout appears to have completely ignored what BlackKoromon said, quite happy to go on his own little rant, "Have you been a...Tamer long? Have you been to the Digital World a lot?" So many questions! So excited!

The words that came from Scout's mouth were a little... surprising, which resulted in Kirito to arch an eyebrow. He looked to Terriermon who was already looking at Kirito, though he was using his hand to make circles near his ear, indicating that he thought the young boy in front of them was a little crazy... "Coocoo Coocoo!"
"So then... Who is this guy to you then?" Kirito asked, pointing at the BlackKoromon beside him. He was quite confused, if a human being was REALLY capable of turning into a Digimon, then why did he have a Digimon partner beside him? "A-about a week." Kirito replied when asked how long he had been a Tamer. "And no, never." Terriermon was still making the crazy actions and this issued Kirito to lightly kick him in the side to get him to stop.

"Oh! BlackKoromon is just a friend. He lives with me, and we go on adventures," He makes it all sound so innocent, as though the world of giant, deadly monsters is a game, "and we watch each others' backs," The boy yet again smiles as he says that last bit.
"We're more or less the same as you two, except I'm not bound to those trinkets I've seen humans with. The ones they use on their partners," BlackKoromon further explains from his spot on the floor. He looks around the area, wondering if this is really the best place to talk so openly...certainly better than a storefront, of course.
"Hey, hey," Scout giggles at Terriermon's antics, "I'm not crazy. Well. Not entirely! If we were somewhere a little less, um. Conspicuous, I'd show you! But it's not exactly quiet, so..." he gestures around, before pausing to actually take in what was just said to him. Sigh. "Oh, a week? So you're pretty new to this too! It's only been about a month since I got my D-Scanner,"
"As for the Digital World," BlackKoromon cuts in, "it can be...dangerous. There are many powerful beings there, some of who want nothing more than to destroy. But it's also a place of infinite wonder and beauty. If you do decide to venture there, make sure you don't go alone. Unlike some people,"
Once again, the comment doesn't appear to faze Scout in the slightest, "Yup! That's where we met! I try to go a couple of times a week if I can, to make new friends!" He's so...earnest.

Listening to Scout's words, Kirito was a little curious as to how he and the BlackKoromon had met in order to join forces in a sense, though he kept these thoughts at the back of his mind as he listened. It was a good thing to have, someone to watch your back and this was definitely something that Kirito wanted to develop with other people and their Digimon partners.
"Oh this?" Kirito said, reaching back into his pocket and drawing out his Digivice to show the little black Digimon and his friend. "I believe it is called a Digivice and I don't think it actually bounds Terriermon to me or anything like that." It was Terriermon who spoke next, jumping back up onto his partner's shoulders with a happy smile. "Nope, nope. It is more like he is bound to me!" He giggle, Kirito looking up at his Digimon as he squeezed his cheeks.
No offence to the other Tamer, but Kirito was feeling a little, well it was hard to explain, but from what he understood was that Scout had been a Tamer or what ever he called himself for a little over a month, yet Kirito had only been at this for less than a week and seemed to know more about this than what he did. It was a little odd actually. Still it wasn't something Kirito was going to bring up as it wasn't anything particularly necessary. Maybe he just hadn't met anyone with information like Kirito did.
"Already noted." Kirito stated, having already said to Yui, Shi and Amsel that if he were to ever go to the Digital World, he wanted to wait for Terriermon to be stronger, but also they weren't going to go alone either.

"Don't worry though, it's really cool. I've been a bunch of times by myself and I haven't been mauled to death yet!" Scout grins, "a lot of the Digimon there are super friendly. I've been thinking of asking if anyone knows where my next Spirit might be, but I guess if they did, they'd already have it!"
Alright then.
BlackKoromon sighs, "Don't mind Scout. He's a little...excitable. Forgets things when he gets...well, excited. He's a good kid," Once again, his human friend seems to have completely missed what the little Digimon said. Or maybe he's already used to BlackKoromon making excuses for him. Who knows. "Have the two of you encountered many other Digimon?"
"Ooh! Yeah! Or other people with Digimon. Since I guess you haven't run into any other Spirit Users before," And Scout's back, "...Did you drop your pants in front of them as well?" He tilts his head. How did he make that sound like an innocent question? It should've sounded insulting, or snarky, but...no. It is what it is.
BlackKoromon 'facepalms' with one of his antenna, "Yggdrasil preserve me,"

Those words alone sent a chill down Kirito's spine, the fact that the young boy in front of him even said 'mauled to death' was a little unfair considering Kirito was still uneasy about going to the Digital World. "Uh... okay." Was all he could say in response when Terriermon frowned and dropped back down from his Tamer's shoulders. "Next spirit?" Terriermon asked, still unsure about this whole human turning into a Digimon thing... he had never heard of it before so he was a little sceptical, in saying that though, many wouldn't believe Digimon existed either.
Kirito listened to BlackKoromon's words and nodded, he was certain that the kid in front of him wasn't a bad person or anything like that, maybe his personality was something that you just had to get used to first. "We have only face one enemy, but I have met a few other Tamers and their Digimon." Kirito stated, placing his hands into his pockets. "You?"
Kirito's face went bright red when Scout brought up having his pants drop to his ankles... "No... Terrier-I mean. I... um... it was an accident... or... Terriermon?" Terriermon looked to his Tamer, shaking his head. "I was just trying to gain your attention..." "Well you gained my attention and everyone elses" Kirito frowned.

"Don't look so down! Smile! It's all good! Yeah, my next spirit! I use Digital Spirits to transform. I only have one right now, but there're more out there to hunt down!" Scout presses a button on his D-Scanner, and shows them the display. The screen now bears an image of what looks like a folded up orange reptile with a large head. Like a super-disproportionate T-Rex. Almost like a chess piece, or a totem icon of some kind.
"I've fought plenty of less-than-savory characters," BlackKoromon responds from the floor, getting past the embarrassment of Scout's previous remarks, "but the kid here prefers words over fighting. What was it you said, again?"
Scout laughs, "'I'm a lover, not a fighter'. I'll fight if I have to, but I find there's usually another alternative. And why hurt someone if you don't have to, right?" He fidgets with nervous energy, "Sorry, I shouldn't've brought up the pants thing, should I? I don't always think before I speak,"
He pauses, takes a deep breath, and then adopts a slightly less manic expression, just smiling in a friendly manner, "Okay. Sorry. Hi, hello. Well, it seems like you two make quite the double act anyway. You seem pretty well suited to each other," He gestures at both Kirito and Terriermon, "I'm sure you'll go far together,"

So if Scout was telling the truth, humans could turn into Digimon as long as if they find these things called Digital Spirits, which from what he could understand, there was quite a few out there to obtain. Kirito looked at the device that Scout held up to him and looked at the screen, Terriermon jumping and climbing onto his shoulders in order to have a look as well. "Interesting..." Kirito said, placing a finger to his chin as he inspected the image and Terriermon mimic'd this.
Hearing that Scout was more of a 'lover than a fighter', Kirito had to put himself into that category as well, he didn't particularly like fighting at all but at the same token, he didn't like talking things through with complete idiots either. "I will admit, I don't like to fight, but I will if I have to." He stated, reaching up and scratching under the chin of Terriermon.
"Noted" Kirito said when Scout stated that he didn't necessarily think before he speaks, sometimes a good trait but it can often be a bad one too. "Its okay though, I tend to get distracted easily, everyone has their flaws." Terriermon laughed lightly. "Like when you see a pretty girl or are typing away on your computer-thingy?" Kirito nodded. "Exactly".
The compliment from Scout was a little unexpected, but it was a welcome one. "Thanks."

Scout tucks his D-Scanner away after that, back into the pocket whence it came! He seems a little calmer than he did before, although still stuck in some kind of permanent 'happiness mode'. Still, calm is good, right? He shifts the bag on his shoulder a little, "Well, it sounds like we have something in common, then. And that's good. Commonality is usually a good thing. I can't say I'm the best fighter, but I haven't had any major problems yet,"
"To be fair, BigAgumon is pretty, uh, big. For a Rookie at least, no doubt it throws a lot of Digimon off. I'm sure your next form will be equally ridiculous," BlackKoromon states, with an amused snort, "Perhaps you can grow into a colossal dinosaur Digimon, and then be tricked into being defeated by scientists using fish," He chuckles at Terriermon's comment, "I could say the same about the kid. His lack of an attention span is hardly a virtue,"
"...I regret showing you the old American version of that. We don't talk about it in public, B," Scout sighs, rubbing the bridge of his nose, "Mm. I'm not holding you up too much am I? I don't really have anything interesting to say, I guess, at the minute, and I'd hate to be keeping you from something,"

Although he didn't know what virtue meant, Terriermon fell over onto the ground in a giggling fit as the two of them teased their partners. Kirito, of course, chose to ignore his Digimon partner and continue the conversation with Scout. "No you are not holding me up, we were actually just about to do some shopping and I wanted to show Terriermon the mall... You are more than welcome to join us, it shouldn't take long and then it will give us a chance to get to know each other better." He stated, scratching the back of his head as he looked back down at his Digimon partner who had finally stopped giggling, only to leap on to Kirito's shoulders. It was kind of nice, meeting new Tamers and all and he would make sure to get this kids number a little later, he wanted to stay in touch with those who he had met so if there was ever anything important that either needed help with, they could call on each other... you never know, Kirito may need the help of a spirit-user-thingy.
