Continued from here
"Ah, dividing the groups that way? In that case, the 'Rabbit Group' should head off to the mineshaft, and the 'Cat Group' should look around the valley." This division made a bit of sense in the Frigimon's head: with more heads on the 'ground', the rabbits would have a better chance of digging through any tough spots of the mine, while the cat's flight would let her check a wider area.
As for the map? "Well, I suppose, but it might be a bit big to lug around..." With that, the snow-digimon would hand off a rolled-up map to Pure: a map of the mountain, marking with an 'X' wherever a mine had been dug. "You'll be heading towards the main one at the base; I don't think they'd have to take shelter at a higher altitude-"
"Blah, you're all wasting time! Let's head out, already... remember: a Meramon, a Musyamon, an IceDevimon, and three Gotsumon. I'm not so worried about the rockheads or the demon, but for the rest of em, let's get movin'!"
Unfortunately, the Frigimon would have to stay behind to help work on clearing out the tracks. It was a pain, but until they could clear out the debris, to bring the train right to the mine, they would have to keep 'base' a bit further out than they wanted to. As the group would approach the mountain, they would find the train fall more and more out of sight, until all they could see was the smoke billowing across the piled snow.
The first issue could clearly be seen at the mine-shaft: despite seeing railway tracks go in from the entrance, after about fifty feet, the cave would be too dark to see. Above, hanging lanterns swung gently, wires drawn out and connected to the track. One of these wires was flayed, sparking out at the end... was it cut? There didn't seem to be any rocks around to be able to catch onto it... but, then again, the cut didn't really look all that clean.
The challenges in the valley were a bit frustrating as well, but simply for how large the area was. Going all the way around the mountain, and even back towards the track, there were quite a few nooks and crannies to look around: shelters between mountains, different caves that could hold wild beasts if they weren't careful, and the like! However, not all caves were created equal here. If they knew what a cave holding sheltered Digimon would look like compared to a random cave, they could quickly shorten their search.
But, especially for this group, time was of the essence...

Neko nodded at the boss's orders, and was happy to have a purple furry to join her. "Nya! Let's go, nya!" Immediately, she charged towards the snowy and started to climb - it was nice of the Frigimon to let her climb the mountain. However, as she climbed up to the valley, she noticed that it was a bit too big for her to even search for anything interesting.
"Mountains and mountains... caves and caves... Different caves... Random caves? Digimon caves? Dead caves? Smoke caves?" While she was looking around, she mumbled out her finding. Though the caves seemed to be pretty similar in sense of... well, they ARE all caves. Just like the mountains are mountains. But each of them are pretty different - some are big, some are small. Some seemed to have some smokes. But it might just be her hallucinations or the wind was too strong over here.
"Purple furry, what you think?" She asked back at the Dorumon instead - provided if there's nothing wrong with him and he DID followed her pace up the valley...

Caodra let out a breath when Pure agreed with the teams. He didn't really want to split up with Muli, but he doubted that either of the rabbits had any way of making heat, something which he and his brother could do. He looked at the Frigimon, incredulity on his face when he heard they were getting split up right from the get go. He looked over at his brother and nodded, making sure Muli was alright with this. With this, he followed Neko out towards the mountain, making sure he always kept the cat in sight, jogging every now and then to keep up with the flyer. Caodra kept checking behind him, making sure that the smoke from the train stayed within sight.
He caught up with her just as she asked him a question. Caodra had noticed all the different caves too, and was wary of them. Especially the bigger ones, or the ones with smoke coming out of them. "As far as I'm aware of, this area of the Terrabyte mountain contains no active volcanoes. So that means that the smoking ones are probably digimon. Whether they are friendly or not remains to be seen. I doubt that we will find anything inside one of the smaller crevices, unless the digimon we are looking for decided to devolve. The smallest ones are gotsumons, who are about the same size as me, and the largest would propably be the IceDevimon."
Caodra sighed, he had no idea what he was supposed to look for. He had no idea how to find the digimon, or what cave was safe. He supposed the ones with smoke were occupied, but they could just as easily be cause by something natural, or even the Meramon they were looking for. The easiest way to find out would be to yell, but that would bring literally every hostile digimon down on them, and could possible cause an avalanche. He shook his head, and turned to Neko. "Any ideas gold kitty? Because right about now, I have nothing."
Muli listened to the explanation. He didn't really like this either, but there wasn't much he could do about it, especially after both sets of twins had agreed to it. He nodded back to Caodra, and walked over to the two rabbits. "I'll take the map, I don't mind carrying it around for you." Muli said. If the rabbits agreed, he would carry it with him and show it to either of the two rabbits whenever they asked. He would then proceed to follow Crystal away from the train, heading towards the mineshaft with them.

Pure wasn't exactly happy about the fact that the group was being split up already. While he understood that time was of the essence, the reason they formed the groups now was if they needed to split up sometime during there search. Fridgimon didn't seem to understand this though as he had the group split up and head towards the two different places they needed to check. Oh well. There was nothing they could do about it, and it was probably for the best.
"Thanks" Pure said as the Fridgimon handed him the map. He then took a quick moment to check the map's content, before folding it back up.
"Oh yeah. That'll be helpful. Just be careful with it, will you?" He told Muli as he handed the map over to the Dorumon, hoping the Dorumon wouldn't accidentally do something to cause them to lose the map.
And with that, they were on their way. They followed the tracks down to the mineshaft, Pure looking back from time to time to see the train slowly disappear in the distance to the point where he could only see the smoke.
"Hey Pure. I think that's the mineshaft up ahead." Crystal pointed out, and sure enough, it was within view. It didn't take them long after that for them to reach the entrance.
"Hello. Is anybody in there? We came to rescue you." Crystal yelled in the mine from it's entrance.
"Uhh... Crys. The miner's are unlikely to hear you from here."
"Yeah, well I thought it was worth a shot." Then something caught the Lopmon's eye, "Hey Pure, look at that." She said, pointing at the sparking wires.
They both approached the wire with some caution as they saw that it was a wire attached to the string of lanterns that normally keep the mines lit. "Well, I'm no expert, but the wires don't look to be cut intentionally."
"How can you tell that?"
"Look at the wire. Do you see how frayed it is? If it was cut by a knife or something, it would be alot more cleaner." She said, proud of herself for noticing that fact.
"Well... What cut the wire then?" Pure asked, making Crystal's grin droop a bit.
"I don't know."
Pure sighed as he turned to look at Muli. "Well, I guess until we can figure out what had cut the wire, we can't rule out that someone may have cut and tried to hide there crime. If that's the case, then I don't want to blindly run around in the dark with a digimon who can see in the dark. So first thing first, we're going to need to see if we can find something we can use as a light source." He announced, keeping an eye out for anything they could turn into a makeshift torch.
"Hey Muli. You wouldn't happen to know anything about how to repair a wire, do you?" Crystal asked, thinking that it wouldn't hurt to check.

Neko looked to the sky as she figured out what to do. Suddenly, she thought of an idea. "DEDIGIVOLVE!" She exclaimed that and devolved into a smaller size - she is now ManekiNekomon. Neko faced towards the Dorumon, with a mischievous smile on her face. "Purple furry, hold onto me!" Assumed that the Dorumon would hold onto her, she activated her Maneki-Aura - a golden aura which clad around her, with the shape of an actual Maneki Neko statue formed around her. Smiling, she faced towards the Dorumon again:
"Now, let's go try and search at one of those smoke caves!"
She pointed her finger-less-seeming paw towards one of the smoking caves, asking the Dorumon to move forward. She knew that the golden aura will give the Dorumon some fortunes, and perhaps fortunate enough for them to find some certain missing 'mons, or maybe anything that could help them.
They WILL be lucky, and she believed in it.
"Come on purple furry, hurry up!!! The gold doesn't stay for long!"
