Fortunately for the group, Luna discovered a legendary staff. Was it mere luck the game had placed such a powerful weapon at the start of this level? Or would it necessary to deal with the dangers that lurked ahead? Dust mentions taking a more cautious and stealthy approach. However, the only way up to the base was the mountain path. One inside he base, it may be best to fight the bandits with some of their own medicine. Surely only a thief could infiltrate a band of thieves. For the time being, they must dispatch this group of high level bandits. Would their superior gear be enough?
The party stands back to back, as the group of bandits surrounds them. They have archers posted on either side of the path, aiming down from higher up. The party engages in combat. Dante takes up a defensive stance and activates 'Guard of the Duelist', a party buff that increases the party's chance to dodge attacks. Wormmon activates 'Wild Berserker', sacrificing health to dish out a continuous blast from their laser cannon. They aim at one side of archers and pan across, knocking all of them back and dealing damage over time from the plasma burns. The bandits on the path charge at the party with swords and laser pistols. "Why couldn't they decide between fantasy and sci-fi?" "It's more fun this way. I've played enough of both games." "So you're okay with bringing a laser cannon to a sword fight?" "Now is not the time for your nitpicking. It's time for naptime for all these stupid ugly bandits that can't compete with my awesomeness."
Wormmon pulls some switches on their laser cannon, and starts firing a barrage of smoke grenades in all directions. Some of the bandits are stunned temporarily from the knockout gas. One of the bandits moves in and strikes Soulja Boi for moderate damage. The bandits on the left side of the path pull out laser rifles, and attack the party with a spray of lasers. The attacks do very heavy damage, considering the level disadvantage. Soulja Boi is down to about 20% health. Dante sweeps the legs out from one of the bandits and stabs them in the chest, killing them with a critical hit. Almost half of the bandits are defeated, but the party has taken a lot of damage. With Luna healing, they just might last long enough to finish off the bandits, and reach the base.

Dust had no idea that what class you were determined how sneaky you could be so decided for a full on assault. Dust closed his eyes and grabbed his gun. "Army of one." He muttered out before dashing towards the bandits each one doing nothing but increasing his power. Luna stood back holding her staff up casting healing field which with the staff caused a added effect. Any enemies within the field took damage instead of healing it. lucky for her. Dust dashed forward using another skill the same he used on that boss which cut through several destroying them, however the attacks did take their toll on him more then the bandits and he retreated back next to Luna and protected her from attacks while getting healed, the typical protect the white mage approach.
"Session time?" Luna asked but Dust shook his head. "We only get one shot with that, lets go all out when we're inside." He told her but what Dust didn't know was as they took out enemies his attacks got weaker, since army of one depends on enemies this was getting dangerous for him and Luna.

The party continues battling the wave of bandits. Thanks to Luna's heals they were surviving the attacks. With the level disadvantage they had to be careful. It appears Dust and Luna are saving their most powerful attack for later, a wise move. These were just the lowest lackeys. In a fair fight, the party would rip right through their squadron. Soulja Boi is hit with a charged laser blast, critical hitting, and preventing any healing for a shot period of time. Wormmon takes a defensive stance and guards Soulja Boi with their cannon. It was a smart move, but ultimately proved futile when one of the bandits charged towards the party and sets off a small explosive on his vest, dealing heavy damage to the party and knocking them down.
Soulja Boi has feinted. If the party survives, they can revive him without a penalty to experience. The group needs healing, but Luna's mana has been depleted from the battle. The bandits fire lasers at the party, dealing heavy damage and reducing Wormmon's health to critical levels. In a last ditch effort, Wormmon throws down an electrical charge, stunning the nearby bandits long enough for the party to heal up. After burning through some potions and health packs, the group finishes off the remaining bandits. Dante takes out both his swords and starts spinning around, hacking through some bandits. One Bandit remains. He starts running off, heading down the mountain. Before they can kill the last bandit, another player kills them with a laser blast. Aria comes walking up the mountain path.
"I thought I told you guys to come see me. Why are on such a high level quest?" "We were just helping Soulja Boi out." Aria looks down and sees the soldier laying dead on the ground. "Yes, and you're doing such a bang up job. If you're so intent on a suicide mission, I guess I can help you out." Aria joins the party. Luna revives Soulja Boi, and the group continues up the path. "Wow this is so awesome! Most games max out at 5 people per party. We have 6." Not everything was perfect about the game, but Dante had to admit is was very well designed. Every little detail had been calculated and designed to be better than other mmos. Surely, whoever was responsible for creating this game was some kind of genius. An individual who had played games for so long, and had the capability to put together a vast virtual world. The party reaches the entrance to the base. They see large metal doors and guards blocking the cave. To just barge in would be foolish. Maybe one of them could orchestrate a more subtle plan to infiltrate the bandit base.

Dust and Luna kept it up doing very well until Dust leveled up and got a new skill that showed up right in front of his face scaring the craps out of him. This made it so he lost track of enemies and took damage but the skill made him drain health from his opponent so that was nice. Dust didn't know exactly what happened next but someone died and Luna revived him, yay. Dust noticed his own thing was going down despite not using skills. "What's going on Luna." The mage smiled before saying. "Uhh joint command, I can take your Mp and make it mine." Dust was about to retort but Aria showed up. yay. Dust followed them up to large metal doors.
Dust looked at he cave around the door and noticed one wall was a slightly different color. "Luna smash." Dust ordered and the girl ran forward punching the fake wall into tiny pieces but it made no noise for some reason. "So I'll assume this is part of the quest right." Dust said and he was right, beyond that metal door was death so players who liked living would have to see the difference in the wall colours. Why it made no noise was because of a field that restored all hp and mp thanks to it being a safe zone. Seems like this quest was easy if you pay attention.

Dust noticed that the two metal doors were actually different colors. It must be a trick to stop intruders. The party continues inside, receiving a full recovery. Along the way, Aria talks about the quest. "You know, you guys really shouldn't be doing THIS quest. Soulja, you're still a level 1." "Ya, but I wanna level up quickly." Aria smirks at the noob player. It was clear players should start from the beginning and play through the main quests, only taking on higher level areas when it was appropriate. But they were doing surprisingly well. The xp and gear would be amazing, and really give the party a huge advantage over other players. "This next part is going to be tricky."
The party reaches the next area, a large room filled with traps and mines. "Look at all the booby traps!" No one in the party had expertise with demolitions, so they would have to find other ways to bypass to the next room. The first part involves 4 spike traps that activate alternately. Dante takes a few steps forward and stands in front of the first section of spikes. The pressure weight in the floor activates the first and second rows. "One of us will have to get past the spikes." "Not a problem." Dante uses his short range teleport to teleport to the other side of the spikes. He steps on the plate next to the fourth space, activating the second and fourth plates. Wormmon steps on the first plate. Dante steps backwards and the spikes go down. "Hmm, so the plates can't be activated if the other two are already up. And even though Wormmon's standing on a plate, because I stepped off it went down." This was starting to get complicated.
It appeared impossible for the party to bypass. If Wormmon steps forward to the second plate, the 1st and 3rd would activate, and they couldn't move. Wormmon steps back, activating the 1st and 3rd. Wormmon crawls back to the group, and the spikes go down. "Oh, this is stupid!" Soulja Boi runs towards the plates. They step on the starting plate, and by the time they reach the first, the spikes come up and impale Soulja Boi, pinning his carcass to the ceiling. The spikes go back down, and the 2nd and 4th plates are activated, Soulja's lifeless body weighing down the 1st spike plate. The group steps on the starting plate and quickly drags Soulja's body off the plates, and the spikes go down. "Should you even bother rezing him, Luna?" "He could have his uses." How is the party going to get past the spike plates?

Luna quickly revived the downed ally but walked around the walls. "Dust how did you know I could smash that wall." She asked and he shrugged. "Different color why?" He asked but when he turned around Luna had already pulled her fist back and punched through a wall. Instead of this being a hidden wall she just plain bashed through the freaking thing. "Luna what the hell is wrong with you." Dust asked and Luna smiled. "A way past." Luna said before walking over and punching the wall again this time just reaching a really hidden item. It was a button that said self destruct. She ran over and pressed it like a dumbass after a voice rang out. "Congratulations you have proven how dumb you are, since you have no hope of solving a puzzle they will now be deactivated." The voice said as the spike trap and mine turned off.
"See Dust." Luna said with a smile. If she knew that would happen or she was trying to kill then he'd never know but he really hoped it was the first. "Good Job Luna." Dust said scratching his head. The girl quickly hugged the gunner before running farther into the cave waving her staff in the air.

While Dante and Wormmon were trying to solve the puzzle, Dust and Luna stumbled upon a secret switch that deactivated the security. Maybe it was always the designer's plan to try and trick players. "Woohoo! Puzzles Zero, Insanity Two!" They continue through the base, careful avoiding mines and tripwires. They reach the main chamber where the Bandit Leader has been waiting. He has long black hair, a grizzly beard, jet black plate armor, and a really big ax drenched in what appears to be either ketchup, or blood of the fallen. The bandit leader is surrounded by his highest ranking men. They are equipped with cyber swords and laser rifles. The leader gets up off his throne and takes a few steps forward towards the party. "And who dares challenge Rolfgar, Leader of the Blood Bandits?!"
Several party members go to speak, but Aria takes a step forward. "So you wish to know the names of your slayers?" "Arrogant little wench. How you low levels made it to my chambers is beyond me. It's a good thing I already killed my contractors. Seriously, do you know how many men I've lost because they went in the wrong door?" "Enough talk! There's only one thing we came for, and that's your head." "And what do you have to gain by killing me? Do you seek to protect the innocent? Or are you merely using that as an excuse to justify killing me and my men for your own greed?" Wormmon steps forward. "You're just a big bully! And we're here to put an end to your evil ways!" "Hahaha! A bunch of low levels like you don't stand a chance. I'd kill you for the fun of it, but it would be an insult to my precious ax. If it's treasure you seek, I'll give you all the best gear and items you can carry out of here, if you work for me. Take your time to decide."
The party talks it over. The real motive here was gear. They could become rich in the game if they join Rolfgar. Dante, Aria, and Soulja all think they should consider the offer, while Wormmon is adamantly against it, and just wants to kill all the bandits for fun. Would they even stand a chance against the bandit leader? Avoiding a big fight could be advantageous. "I think we should kill him!" "As much as I want to fight these bandits, we have a chance to skip it, and walk out with a ton of loot." "But Dante! We can take him! Why else is he afraid to fight us?" "I know the most about this game and I say we take the offer. We could go around killing players, and even taking their gear!" "Ya, I wanna get better gear and be overpowered." "All of you guys are idiots and bad players! We have to slaughter every bandit in our way, and take all their weapons and gear." It seems most of the party has been worked up into a frenzy. Maybe Dust and Luna can provide some clearer thinking.

Dust had his arms crossed hearing what the human players had to say, were humans really that selfish. Dust grabbed his head all of this talking about slaughtering other players, working with a murderer greed was to much for his head to handle. Memories were exploding but he picked up his gun before shouting. "WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU THREE!!!" he yelled at them before giving a massive slap to each. "How on earth could you even consider this, I don't know about these two but I expected more from you Dante." Dust said looking away from the group. "If any of you take this offer I can promise you, I won't let you walk out of here." Dust said accidentally activating tyrant revelo, this sickened him beyond belief.
"Dust is right this isn't right shame on you three." She said standing behind the gunner, she was with him all the way. Dust looked at the bandit leader before pointing his gun at him. "I don't care about gear or levels, if they won't fight, we will." Dust said before him and Luna dashed forward to fight alone of they had to.

Dust had a different opinion on what they should do. The others just stopped and stared for a while, then Dust slapped them in their faces. "Alright, well if it means that much to you. I don't think it's such a big deal either way." "You can't be serious. Only a few players have made it this far. Think of the power we would have in the game. No more busting our butts grinding through little errands for the peasants, just for a pittance of money." "I've had enough of you guys talking! My laser is hungry for sweet lady justice. And it's either going to be these bandit sissies or you dimwits. So stop it, drop it, and pop it." Wormmon decides the best way to solve this is to agro the boss. Wormmon charges up their laser and fires a blast, hitting the bandit leader in the face.
"Ow! You didn't have to do that! Just because I'm the bandit leader doesn't mean I don't have feelings. I just thought you guys might want to hang out, and be friends." "What are you blabbering about now?" "It's just that, it's lonely being the leader, stuck up in the mountains every day. And when people finally do show up, they try to kill me. They don't even know the real me, you know?" "Save your touchy feely crap for Hell." Both sides engage in battle. Aria activates an energy shield that forms a light green bubble around her, absorbing incoming laser damage. The bandits unload fire from their laser rifles. Soulja Boi's health quickly starts to go down, but Aria activates her 'Cloak of the Huntress' special power and makes Soulja invisible to the enemies. Dante takes up a defensive stance, blocking the laser fire with his swords. Wormmon activates an ability from one of the upgrades on his laser cannon, and fires a grappling hook at one the bandits, pulling them in. Wormmon then fires a massive laser blast right in the Bandit's face, dropping their health to zero.
Aria charges towards the bandit leader and throws down a flash mine, going off and blinding the leader. She attaches a demolition charge to his back and smacks him with the bottom of her laser rifle. He takes a few steps back, regaining sight, but before he can attack, Aria activates the charge, exploding and dealing massive damage to the bandit leader. "Alright Aria! You're kicking his butt!" Two bandits with cyber swords close in on Dante. He enages in a sword fight. Dante blocks the first few strikes, but one of them lands a blow to his side. Dante deflects another incoming strike, and with his other sword slashes the bandit right in the chest, causing him to bleed out. Dante face and blades are drenched in blood. The other bandit backs up slowly, but Wormmon blasts them with their laser cannon, dropping their health to zero. So far the party is faring surprisingly well. Could they bring down the bandits and restore peace to the town?

Dust and Luna were deep in a group of bandits surrounding them. He managed well pointing the guns to each side unleashing a hail of bullets keeping them all at bay while Luna healed him to keep his tyrant ability active. "Dust what was that?" Luna asked as he turned crossing his arms and keeping the hailstorm up. "What was what?" Luna looked Down before talking. "I've never seen you actively mad before." Dust spun again hitting bandits above him to stop the. from jumping on him. "I, I just couldn't stand what they were saying it made me feel. Feel like I've seen that happen." Luna looked at Dust and even though it was a game face all that was there was anguish, despite not even taking a hit. "Lets stop for now, come on let's go session time" Dust said before throwing his gun into the air and starting the attack.
It was the same as before only far stronger due to tyrant revelo and Army of one being active, they even managed to miss their allies, good for them. Instead of before Dust created a large symbol on the ground and flooded the entire cave with Dark energy and Luna blasted it with holy energy effectively dealing massive damage.

Dust and Luna unleash their ultimate attack, dealing massive damage to the leader and the bandits. When it was all said and done, only the leader remained. He struggles to catch his breath, blood gushing from his mouth. "You think you're better than me... You are far more cruel than I am." The party approaches the bandit leader. He raises up his ax and strikes the ground, creating a fracture in the ground. The floor gives way, and the party is sent falling down to the cavern below. The leader flees further into his base.
The fall reduces Soulja's health to zero. Aria manages to stand up, holding her side and using her rifle to balance herself. "That bastard! He knew we had him beat." Dante's body aches all over. The party starts to feel some of the in game damage to their own bodies. "This better not happen again. Let's go find that slimeball." The party now has to explore the cavern to find a way to get to the bandit leader. The cavern is dark and damp. Water can be heard dropping from cracks in the ground above. "Oh man, I was totally gonna shove my laser cannon right down his mouth and fire a blast so big his intestines would be radioactive!" "I can't believe we are stuck down here. He's probably setting up his next trick." "We have to keep moving. There's gotta be an exit around here somewhere." The party searches the cavern, but fails to find anything. After a while, they find a path that opens up into a large underground chamber. "There might be something in here you guys."

Dust saw the leader And the words he said before activating his trap felt familiar. Dust looked down at his gun recalling that memory he so desperately wanted to keep at bay. He remembered standing in front of a Digimon surrounded by the body's of others slowly reverting back to Data. The digimon muttered something out he couldn't hear, couldn't or didn't want to it didn't matter as Dust saw a hand very unlike his own hold up a shotgun, and fire.
As soon as that was done Dust snapped back to reality to have Luna shaking/punching him. "Dust get a grip." She said as Dust caught the next attack. "Luna why are you hitting me?" He asked and she pointed down the cave. "You were out of it, we fell down here and they went on ahead." Luna said before looking at the Impmons character. "You were muttering something, sounded like you were saying why." She asked concerned.
Dust quickly got up and started walking. "Its nothing, just nothing." He repeated almost like he was telling himself or convincing himself. "Alright, lets go." She said before following after the group

Dante noticed Dust was acting strange. He wasn't sure exactly what was going through his head. At first it seemed like a slight problem, but now it appeared Dust does suffer from his amnesia. Maybe it would be for the best that they stopped playing the game, but they had already come this far. Dante wants to help Dust, but isn't sure if there's anything he could do. The party enters the underground chamber. The floor is comprised of dry dirt and rocks. There's a large adamentium door on the other side. Up above there is a balcony connected to the rest of the base. The bandit leader comes walking down the balcony and looks down at the party. He is well out of face stabbing range. "Great. What's his shtick now?" "I wouldn't speak to authority that way, child. You better go back to your world and leave online gaming to the experts."
Aria steps in front of Dante. "I'm finding it very hard to be intimidated by you. This is still just a game, and you're nothing but a computer code. You're entire purpose is to die." The leader laughs, and raises his big ax with one hand, staring at the blood on the ax head. "That's what you think. It's no wonder you associate with these noobs. I'm a player just like you." The party is shocked to hear this. "You're a, player?" "Indeed. I killed the last player who was the bandit leader. And ever since, I've gotten more money and xp than any player in the arcade. But soon, this game is going to go national. And then, all over the world. And I'm going to have the biggest advantage." "So you're nothing but a dirty little no lifer. A try hard. What, you couldn't cut it in the real world, so you had to run away and pretend you're great?" "There's big money at stake. I can make more real world money from playing this game than anything you're qualified to do."
Wormmon is fed up with all the talking. "That's enough out of you! In a real fight I'd turn you into a pile of goo." "Fighting him is useless. He's way higher level, and has legendary gear." "Oh, it's not me you have to worry about." The leader pulls a switch and the large door opens up. A loud roar shakes the caverns. Out comes a giant, scaly, black, lizard monster. "Meet the Ravager. He's going to tear your characters apart limb by limb." The Ravager takes a few steps forward and lets out another massive roar, knocking the party down. Dante looks over at Dust and Luna, then at Wormmon. "Ready?" Wormmon nods. "Never give up." Dante takes out his sword and points at the Ravager. "Come on, Dante, say something badass." "Ugh, it's clobberin' time?" "That's the best you got? THE JUICE IS LOOSE!" Wormmon charges up their laser cannon and fires a massive blast towards the Ravager. The beast dodges the blast, and it keeps going and hits the balcony, sending the bandit leader to the floor below.

Dust had no idea what was going on. He looked at Luna to get a clue but she seemed as clueless as him. Dante asked if he was ready and he sighed. "Alright then, guess it's do or die." Dust said focused on that thing. "And we won't be the ones doing the dying." Luna said returning her staff to her bag and getting in a fighting stance. It would appear these two had better badass sayings.
Luna started up dashing forward her arm glowing as she made a attempt to deliver a uppercut. The first hit wouldn't send it flying but it would lead to the second more powerful hit sending it to the top of the ceiling. Luna would then jump up and deliver a punch downward. However this wouldn't be her punch as a large blue fist came out of nowhere and sent the beast down towards the leader. This was if it hit anyway.
Dust paying attention to Luna would then use Legion of one to deliver a massive attack before stopping in front of this beast. If this onslaught could beat it they wouldn't know.

The party engaged the bandit leader and the Ravager in battle. The beast charges forward striking some of the players with their long scaly arms. Dante blink strikes behind the beast and slashes the back of their neck, the laceration slowly depleting the Ravager's health. Wormmon dashes towards the beast and jumps into the air, smashing the Ravager with their laser cannon. The Bandit leader charges towards the party and swings his big ax, dealing critical damage to several party members. The attack drops Soulja Boi in one hit, later receiving another rez. Aria equips a cyber dagger and stabs the bandit leader in the side. She pulls the dagger out and blood gushes out from the wound. He screams in agony, as the game triggers the sensors in the player's helmet.
Dust and Luna execute their lethal combo attack and deal massive damage to both bosses. The Ravager goes down, covered in cuts and scrapes. The Bandit Leader is still Standing. "It's going to take more than that to finish me off." "Face it, you've lost." The bandit smirks and licks the blood on his ax. His health is fully restored and receives a damage bonus. "I won't let you stop me from being the strongest!" The bandit swings his massive ax, hitting most of the party. Dante and Wormmon are down to critical health. Aria takes up a defensive stance, hoping she can somehow handle another attack. Soulja Boi was not hit by the ax, and has almost full health.
The bandit leader walks over to Aria and kicks her in the chest, then smacks her in the face with the back of his gauntlet, the metal spikes tearing open the flesh. He places his finger underneath her chin and raises her head up. "There can be only one." Soulja Boi runs over and shoots the bandit in the face with a laser pistol. The Bandit takes a few steps back, holding his face in pain. Soulja Boi uses the Soldier ultimate ability 'Ultimate Price'. He jumps on the bandit leader and self destructs, killing the two of them. "Yay! Soldier Boi did it!" The party restores their health and revive Soulja. They try to loot the bandit's corpse, but only Soulja Boi can take it. "Does this mean... I'm the new Bandit Leader?!"
