Tadashi comes to a stop with a slight grunt, and checks the compass on his Xros Loader. Yup. He's...seemingly headed in the right direction. Well, that'll have to do for now. He continues to walk again, wishing he's thought to change out of his school uniform before coming to the Digital World. It's not like he hadn't had time, he was just...lazy. Yup.
Flamemon and Mercurymon walk along a few paces behind him, as Mercurymon has stated is proper for people in service to a 'lord'. Tadashi still isn't quite comfortable with being referred to as such but...whatever makes them happy. What makes him happy is the prospect of adding a new member to their little army. The last time they followed a blip like this, it had led them to the Human Spirit of Metal, which resolved itself into Mercurymon. Another one of their kin would certainly be a boon to their peacekeeping force.
Tadashi pauses, and then looks left and right. Why does everything look the same around here? Grassy plains, with a few cliff-faces. It's going to be hard to find the right place, and it's not like they have all day. Oh god, what he'd give for some plot convenience right now. Maybe an extra pair of eyes or two.
Or two.

"I'm starting to think we took a wrong turn. See any landmarks?"
"Nope. Should I look for the bright blue skies, or the endless fields of happy grass?"
"The giant craters are a good start, maybe."
"And risk bumping into whatshisface again? Without the others there to back us up, he's gonna be way more dangerous."
"Yeah, I really don't want to risk that. I don't want you to get kidnapped again."
"You worry too much sometimes. We're way tougher now than when we first showed up."
"It's only been four days!"
"Four days of us kicking butt and being big-time heroes, that's for sure."
How was it possible to be lost in such a wide-open field? By all accounts it didn't make much sense, but then again neither did the Digital World as a whole. Even as regular delvers into the world, the two brothers were still having quite the tricky time finding their way around it, and a wander into the endless plains had proven to be a particularly bad idea. Thankfully, by now the two knew to keep a close eye on each other, especially so close to the site where they were previously kidnapped.
Or, maybe they weren't close to there? This place was too damn big.
As they walked, they noticed a trio of travelers constantly shooting confused looks back and forth. It gave Isaac considerable relief to know he wasn't the only one foolish enough to get lost in the emptiest place in the world. Elliot took the lead, stepping forward and waving cheerfully to the group as Isaac hesitantly kept watch. If they turned out to be rotten, it'd likely be a major fight on their hands.
"Hello!" Elliot called, merry to the point of near-obliviousness. "Are you lost here as well?"

Mercurymon spots the two boys first, and moves to try and shield his master from them! "Mind, my Lord. A pair of brigands, no doubt. Shall I dispatch them?" His metallic body gleams in the sunlight. The awful, awful sunlight. He's...not the most diplomatic of folk, but he has his uses. The human puts a hand on Mercurymon's arm, and shakes his head, "L-leave them, M-M-Mercurymon, let's see who they are, first," Mercurymon sighs, "As you command, my Lord," The human boy steps forward, offering the pair a smile, "Not, uh. N-not lost as such. Following a signal on m-m-my Xros L-Loader," He holds up the device in question, "Where're y-y-y-y..." He takes a deep breath and pauses for a moment, "you trying t-to get to? Maybe I c-can help."
He seems nice! It's probably all a front. Maybe he's going to shank them. Or steal their things!
The third member of their party, a red-haired imp-like creature, has seemingly become bored and is examining the shapes that the clouds are making. Pretty!

Now that was new! This Digivice looked nothing like their Digivice, Elliot quickly taking his out and looking back and forth from his to the boy's as if trying to confirm. Still, it was pretty unmistakably a Digivice. The way the boy described it confused Elliot slightly, though. He had Digimon of his own instead of turning into them, but he still had to hunt them down like the brothers did? How strange. Sounded like the biggest hassle of both worlds, frankly, but it likely had perks Elliot just hadn't been considering. Still, he turned to Isaac hopefully. Maybe now they'd be able to help make a difference again! After pausing to weigh the consideration, Isaac nodded back at his brother. Kid didn't seem much like a threat at all. If things got ugly and it turned out to be a trap, bailing wouldn't be tough.
"Well, we were going to go back to Terminus. But if you need help, we can!"
"Where is the signal going?" Isaac asked, figuring that at least a bit of adventure would help them get their bearings. First they help out the new kid, then they help out themselves.
Foolproof.

Tadashi points over towards a larger cliff-face in the distance, after confirming it by glancing down at the screen on his Xros Loader. "Over th-there, somewhere. If l-last time was any indication, p-p-probably inside a c-cave or a similar st-structure," Well, alright then. Easy! Caves aren't too scary, right guys?
...Guys?
"I w-wouldn't mind some c-c-company besides M-Mercurymon and Flamemon," He eyes his Digimon with a small smile, "n-not that they aren't w-wonderful conversationalists, but. I c-can help you find your w-w-way back to Terminus City afterwards if y-you like," Even better! Unless it's still a trap! Still, with the exception of Mercurymon's initial reaction, they don't seem to be too threatening.

Just as they had hoped! While his stuttering in a language the boys didn't understand very well made speaking with the boy a little difficult, the two definitely understood the word Terminus. He'd be able to help them after all. Elliot smiled radiantly at the news, incredibly happy he wouldn't be stuck in this hell of endless grass forever. "That would be wonderful! We are very thankful. My name is Elliot, by the way."
"And I am Isaac," Isaac responded. By now their little paired introduction was becoming like clockwork. If there were any eight words they spoke fluently in Japanese, those would be it. So, the problem was a cave? That wasn't too bad. Caves never hurt anybody! They were just nature's tunnels. If that was good enough for a train, it'd be good enough for the boys. Besides, it'd certainly be a welcome change from grasslands, grasslands, and more grasslands.
"So, where do you think this cave is?" the boy asked, standing on his tiptoes and swiveling a little to try and get a better view. You wouldn't think something like that would be easy to miss in such a flat plain, but considering that the brothers were currently having a tricky time finding an entire city it was fair to say they were in the deepest end of the plain.

"Probably at the b-b-base of those c-cliffs. Maybe at the top. Won't kn-know until we g-g-get closer," Tadashi manages to get out after a few failed attempts. Poor boy. He beckons to his two Digimon, who fall into step behind him, ready to go! And with that, Tadashi sets off across the plains, heading straight for those cliffs.
As he walks, he opens the bag on his shoulder (nudging aside a...leotard), and pulls out a candy bar, starting to devour it as though it were his last meal. What? He's a growing boy! Leave him alone. Meanies. He eyes his two human companions, speaking between bites, "Oh! R-right. I never said. I'm T-T-Tadashi," He offers a lazy salute. With a candy bar. "Have you g-guys been c-coming to the Di-Di-Digital World long, or...is this a new th-thing?"
"Is there no candy bar for your humble servant, my Lord?"
"Your l-lips are p-painted on. How w-would you eat it, M-Mercurymon."

Elliot paled somewhat at mention of a cliff. All it took was one look at his leg for anyone to know that it really wasn't a situation the boy would excel in. However, he tried to pull himself together and keep his composure. Okay, he'd have to depend on a single leg and nothing but feeble upper body strength. That's okay. It'd be fine. No stress, right? Just an indiscriminate amount of feet in the air and a lot of gravity hungrily waiting for his fall.
This was a mistake.
"Few days now. Think it will be a week by tomorrow," Isaac said, taking over for his brother. It was kind of seamless how often the two recognized when the other would be out of commission. They rarely brought it to the attention of others, but they rarely missed a beat when swapping positions in a conversation. Elliot couldn't help but feel grateful, now allowed to stew his own worries instead of just babbling them onto the outside world like some kind of idiot. He'd probably be fine in a few minutes, but this was the kind of situation that really got him worried.
"Did you have to look for the others?" he asked, a little bit curious now. This boy's Digivice worked way more weirdly than theirs did, didn't it? "Where?"

"A week? Ah. I've g-g-got a little l-lead on you then. About a month. Uh. K-kinda? I don't have t-to look for them, but I p-promised I'd help find their b-brothers and sisters and r-reunite them to d-defend the Digital World," Ah! Good. The compass arrow is getting a little thinner. Maybe it'll help narrow down the location? Or maybe he just needs to change the batteries or something.
"F-Flamemon found me in a f-forest. We f-fought some Mushroomon t-together. And I f-found Mercurymon's totem inside a c-cave made entirely of m-m-mirrors," He glances back at his Digimon, before continuing, "th-there used to be ten of them. 'Legendary W-Warriors'. They defended the D-Digital World, but were defeated by the head of s-some dark army a long time ago, and s-sealed in individual prisons,"
Thanks, Captain Exposition.
"Two down, eight to go," Flamemon grunts, "let's hope the next one's easier than the last, huh?"

"That is so awesome! We are more than happy to help you."
Isaac chuckled a little. There was no better way to snap Elliot out of a funk than with either hugs or a cool story, and thankfully Tadashi was right on point with the cool story. At least now the boy would have something to cling tightly onto in order to distract himself from the physical activities and heights that were troubling him earlier. Sometimes it really weirded Isaac out about how quickly his brother could bounce back, though. Was it really bouncing back, or was he just taking the time to bury it all deeper? Frankly, it worried Isaac, but who was he to try and being it up? If Elliot was fine, surely he meant it, right?
"Bit of trouble last mission?" Isaac asked, hoping if he kept the story going it'd help Elliot majorly. Drama and adventure were some of his favorite topics! Right next to mushy romances, of course.

"Mm. Yeah, a...w-what'd you call it?" Tadashi glances back at Flamemon. The little Imp grunts, "Devidramon. It was guardin' Mercurymon's little prison. Wasn't much of a match for me when I Xrossed with that other guy's Digimon," He seems a little proud of that, folding his arms behind his head as the continue to near the cliff.
"I would not be surprised if there is a similar defense mechanism here, to keep whomever is stored in this prison in check, my Lord," Mercurymon addresses Tadashi directly, "perhaps these two humans would be a hindrance, in that case,"
Tadashi glares at him, "B-be nice, Mercurymon, or I'm t-t-taking away your polish,"
"No!"
"Yes. Shush," He turns back to Isaac and Elliot, "Okay, uh. D-don't listen to him. T-too much pride. You'll be fine," Tadashi offers what he thinks is an encouraging smile, but instead comes off as slightly flirty. Dammit, Tadashi. "Do y-you two have partners, or...?"

"Sounds tough. Thank goodness you are all safe," Elliot said. The idea of being both a devil and a dragon reminded Elliot of their fused form, VictoryImpmon. Would they be something big and scary like that one day? Nah, it was impossible. They were too tiny and harmless. At least Alicia's spirit form was already cool, so her becoming tough and awesome wasn't much of a stress. What the heck would they even look like later on, with such a goofy first form? Maybe their big, silly head would just become even bigger and sillier.
Then the question of partners was prompted. Immediately, Elliot and Isaac pointed to each other. "I mean, kind of?" Isaac added. "Most of the time we are just humans. But get ready." He couldn't help but grin a little, whipping out his Digivice with a flourish. Elliot produced his as well, but without nearly as much showman's flair. One of these days, Isaac would have to teach him the art of theatrics. The two were enveloped in cocoons of white light as they held their devices high, making sure to keep their thoughts opposed to avoid accidentally fusing yet again. Maybe one day they'd be good enough at transforming to avoid having to make a conscious effort every single time.
As the dust cleared, Impmon and Veemon were left in the wake. "See? We transform!"

Tadashi blinks, and quickly scans the pair with his Xros Loader. Yup. They register as Digimon alright. That's...confusing. New. Interesting. "W-wait. Are you h-humans that change into Digimon, or D-D-Digimon that change into humans?" He asks in a tone that suggests he's asking one of them to give him the time. His face splits into a little grin as he eyes them though, "Y-you're like little K-Kamen Riders. That's so cool," With that, he looks back at Mercurymon, "See? I'm s-sure they'll be fine,"Mercurymon scoffs at that. They're Rookies, hardly a serious threat. Nevertheless, he continues to clank along after the two boys as they approach the cliffs. "R-Right..." He starts to walk along the side of them, "Ah!" There's a marking seemingly burned onto the wall of the cliff. The black parts of Tadashi's Xros Loader momentarily flash white, before a series of symbols arrange themselves on the screen...and then promptly leave. What's left behind looks a lot like the markings on a clock, or circular combination lock. Tadashi starts to move the wheel of his Xros Loader around...slowly. "St-stay on your toes, boys."

"Humans first. We only came to the Digital World about a week ago, Isaac explained. "Still getting used to it all. The whole death-defying adventure thing is a lot to take in, especially when we thought we were just going on a quiet vacation." Isaac still needed to make his mind up as to whether he loved this or hated this. In particular, he wasn't really fond of the whole almost dying bits. Those hurt. Having the power to make stuff explode, on the other hand, was really cool! It was often easier to just take the good with the bad and see what came next. Generally it was all for the best, but he'd still be keeping on his toes.
"Did you see that symbol in the other places?" Elliot asked, giving a curious eye to the yellow marking singed into the cliffside. He stood on his tiptoes to try and get a better look, wishing Veemon was a bit of a bigger form. He didn't mean to be rude, but if the next spirit he hunted for added a few feet onto his height he certainly wouldn't be complaining about it. Still, the order to stay on his toes came out, so Elliot heeded his warning and nodded. He turned to face the group's rear, watching out for threats from behind as Isaac covered the group's front. With five pairs of eyes, what could possibly get past this group?

"Mm. S-similat to this one, but n-not quite the s-same," Tadashi responds, only half-listening to the two boys as he tries to...pick some kind of virtual lock. "M-Mercurymon?" He waves a hand over his shoulder, hoping the tin man will explain further. Fortunately, Mercurymon loves to talk. It's hard to get him to stop most of the time. "T'is the crest of the Spirit of Darkness, our brother Duskmon. You will never meet another swordsman of his caliber, my Lord. He would be a great boon to our cause. However. We would do well to be on our guard. Duskmon is not known for his self-control, and years of imprisonment could have further degraded his senses," He eyes the two younger boys, and then Tadashi. "In short, my Lord, be careful what you say," "N-noted. Got it," His Digivice emits a soft, pleasant-sounding chime. The symbol on the wall turns black in response, and then spreads out to create...a doorway. It just...grows, and then disappears, taking the rock with it, leaving a perfectly rectangular space for them to walk down, tall enough and wide enough for them to walk in pairs if they were so inclined. "Stay c-close," Tadashi whispers. He proceeds into the 'naturally' occurring corridor, immediately seeing that there's no need for a flashlight. There's a brilliant white light coming from the far end of the tunnel, perhaps fifty feet away. As they get closer and closer, Flamemon's hair seems to glow a little, indicating the little imp is readying himself for a fight! After all, they can't buy a soda without getting attacked these days. At the end of a tunnel is a large chamber, cavernous in size. Perhaps the size of a soccer pitch. And each surface is glowing with white light, making it difficult to look at any one surface for long. The only thing that isn't illuminated is a small black object atop a glowing pillar in the center of a room...and the chain attached to the base. A chain which is attached to a creature. Because of course it is.
