To say that her latest hunt was a disaster was certainly overstating how bad things went. By all means it could've been many times worse even with what did happen. Alicia's only real worry though was that Kuu might have felt a bit inadequate with her instinctively pulling Maia into a protective embrace when the rain of shurikens had come down on them. Though it wasn't like she was able to evade so many digimon throwing projectiles at her anyways, so she would have had to hunker down and shield herself as best as she could anyways.
She really was fortunate to have them around, Kuu's blabbering had saved her life by causing the Ninjamon to stop for the time needed to think things through and realize they weren't spies for an opposing clan. After that it was just a matter of asking for the totem and being on their way. So yes, it could've gone a lot worse then what it actually did.
"Kid... you alright...?" Sol asked worriedly as the Spirit User flinched a bit during her walk, trying to stretch her sore and aching body out. "I realize that somethings have to get done whether you're hurting or not but I don't think this is one of those things."
"If I don't stretch out a bit, I'm sure I'll pay for it later. Besides, who knows how long that Spirit will be left alone? Working the muscles out a bit should get them healing faster so I'm back up sooner." So she at least had a reason for this. "Besides, I wanted to ask. Can you help me get a feel for what the new Spirit will turn me into without me actually using it?"
"... To a degree, Alicia. It's not nearly as good as actually Evolving to that form, but I suppose it'll work for getting you adjusted." the Steel Spirit answered with a sigh. "Just... let me know when you want to get to that."
Alicia nodded slightly to him and picked up her pace, jogging a bit even as her body screamed at her in reminder of the injuries she suffered as Steeldramon the day before. Back then she hadn't even been able to move because her body hurt so bad. If that was the kind of thing she could expect to be dealing with regarding Champions, she'd have to try and strengthen herself to the point where she could push past what forced her to seize up before.
If she didn't? She had a strong suspicion the next time she wouldn't have a convenient friend to distract her attacker for her.

Gallatin was currently sitting down at a park bench, eating the rest of a cheese burger he had ordered earlier. He casually munched on his burger while checking out the people that passed by, each giving him strange looks. He honestly didn't blame him though, because contrary to the usual instance, he wasn't himself at all. Gallatin was still, to his spirit's annoyment, wearing his Holo-Suit. " Why are you still wearing that ridiculous costume?" His spirit, AncientKronosmon, asked in his head. He had been talking more and more as of late, despite seemingly dying when they had first met. It was nice at first, but now it just felt like a burden to Gallatin. He felt like there was no way he could just be alone. " You have no reason to disguise yourself when you can just become your regular human self!" He continued on. Gallatin groaned inwardly, but composed himself and started to laugh out loud just to spite his spirit. " SSH!" AncientKronosmon shushed him, his tone now serious. " Be quiet... I'm sensing a digimon approaching..." He tensed up for a moment and slowly turned his head to look around; but he saw nothing other than an old man walking his cat on the sidewalk and a red haired woman "jogging" by a few yards away from him. " I don't see anything." Gallatin responded. " And nothing gets past DIO." He added as an afterthought, annoying his spirit even more. " Wha-Who's DIO?" AncientKronosmon questioned for a second before entirely dismissing his host. " You know what, never mind. Just shut up for a second. My senses never lie, that girl is definitely hiding a digimon..." This made Gallatin snap back to seriousness. If she had a digimon, there was a chance she was a nice tamer kinda like that one girl... what was her name? Maia? Anyway, maybe she was like her... Or it was possible she was a member of the organization that was trying to kill him. Instantly recognizing his tensing, AncientKronosmon assured him. " It's okay. There's no way she could notice you in this ridiculous form, even if she was sent to attack you... Just act natural and we'll be fi-GOD DAMN IT, GALLATIN!" Literally mid-sentence of AncientKronosmon's "Don't act suspicious" speech, Gallatin got up and began sprinting right at the woman... Only to stop to an awkward walk once he saw that up close she looked more like a college student woman than a "might as well be my mom or a school teacher" adult woman. And there was one thing Gallatin had not worked out of his system was the complete awkwardness he had around girls... especially pretty ones. " NOPE STOP! Don't think about her as a girl!" He yelled, mentally slapping himself. " You can do this. Just imagine her as Maia. Yeah, okay... just like your talking to her. She's not scary. She's not pretty... okay... nope, didn't work. ABANDON SHIP! ABANDON SHIP!" Gallatin abandoned all pretenses and just stopped and froze in a pose, while hiding within the shell of his body.
" ..." " Your pathetic... you do know that right?" AncientKronosmon spoke out, in a monotone voice; not impressed at all. " Just be quiet and stay where you are. There happens to be some sort of spirit inside of this girl... I'll try operating on their wavelength and connect our minds for a chat as to their motives." And true to his word, he did just that, operating on some sort of wavelength, he synced their minds together. " Hello. Can you and your host hear me. I am AncientKronosmon. State your purpose here and if you are Friend or Foe?" He communicated to the girl and her spirit.

"Kid, we got incoming. Look to your right." Sol noted to Alicia, causing her to stop and look around. It was one thing to get such a warning in the Digital World, the Steel Spirit was usually trying to alert her to a nearby hostile Digimon. It had been one such warning that saved her from a bear attack just yesterday. Though given this warning was very relaxed, she wasn't too worried.
Seeing what appeared to be some burly over-muscled anime guy in an extremely gaudy outfit running up to her was no where on her list of things she expected to see when she looked over, though. And then he started shouting random nonsense, causing her to tilt her head. Wait, he knew Maia? She was tempted to ask about that, but then he finished ranting to himself and struck some weird pose. Okay, maybe she should just bolt while she had-
"Whoa, hey hey hey, who's hijacking this channel!?" Sol asked, and she could feel his non-existent eyes widen in surprise. What? Someone was messing with their connection? That was possible? Then the new voice rang clear, identifying himself as AncientKronosmon. As well as a rather pushy pair of questions if one were to ask her.
"Uh... we can hear you loud and clear. I'm guessing you're this guy's Spirit benefactor? I thought I was the only one who had to deal with voices in my head..." Alicia mused, chuckling a bit. At the very least one of them was approaching anything resembling coherent enough for conversation. "Uh, Sol, can you handle this?"
"Can do, kid. Name's Sol, as my host Alicia here said. Her purpose is primarily recreational in nature. As for our stance towards you and your host? We're neutral, we have no quarrel with you nor do we have any pressing need to ally without getting to know one another better. Though admittedly I'd prefer to avoid drawing undo ire. I've crossed one too many time manipulators in the distant past. Though if more Spirits like you are around I should work on masking myself again so we're not so easily detected."
Alicia sighed softly to herself, grimacing a bit at a particularly nasty ache now that she'd stopped moving. "Yeah. What he said basically. And please don't ask why a male Spirit got paired with a female Spirit User. We really don't know the answer to that one either."

AncientKronosmon let off a sigh of relief at how he wouldn't have to send his host into battle. It was bad enough he was this incompetent when alone, but in battle against a girl and he'd be virtually useless. He let off a little chuckle at the pairing, but returned to his formal tone. "I see. Sorry for the nuisance... This is my host, Gal-er... I mean DIO. He's really not a bad person, but is... well let's just say he is extremely disabled around the opposite human sex. Don't mind him though, he'll eventually get used to it; we'll at least I hope."
"Hey, I can think for myself you jerk!" Gallatin interrupted, indignant for how his spirit, which was getting progressively less silent, was dismissing him. "...Wait... did they hear that?" He asked, wondering just how this mind broadcast thing was working.
The millennial spirit figuratively face-palmed. "Yes you idiot. What part of mind connection do you not understand." It was times like this that he regretted merging his fractal code with. "Like I said, just ignore him. And you wonder why all members of the opposite sex detest you?!" He once again dismissed Gallatin before returning his attention back to Sol and his female host. "Anyway, I'm interested on why you are presuming me to have powers over time. That is not a very common ability of digital entities, is it not?" The fact that they had come to that conclusion so fast with so little information piqued his interest. It was possible that they had been lying about not having ill will towards them and secretly were sent to attack them...

"I... see that. I pity you for having to deal with such a hopeless fool..." Sol began, looking over 'Dio' and sighing. "As for my assumption of your powers? Yes, time control is not a common power to have. To my knowledge such a power is possessed by... three, maybe four digimon? Anyways, your very name implies it. Chronos is a word strongly associated with time to those who know where to look for the connections, to the point one kind of mythology among humans has a titan with control over time named Kronos. I believe that's... Greek mythology to be specific? I'm not entirely sure where that particular tale comes from. More mundanely, when one is referring to events proceeding in a certain sequence, they can say it occurs in chronological order. There's a number of ways to draw that conclusion."
"I gotta say," Alicia began, "I get teased a fair amount by Sol here, but at least I've never gone so far off the metaphorical deep end as to get him to start actively bashing my character when talking to others. Looks like you have it rough man."
"Please, Alicia, stem your emotional bleeding heart for a second. He's clearly bringing it all onto himself. You need not have pity for one who fancies the form of an anime character over his own actual form." Alicia blinked at Sol's comment, beginning to speak up again, only to be cut off before she could get the first word out. "And before you ask, yes I did watch some anime. I get bored when you're asleep so what do you expect me to do?"
"... How...?" Alicia asked, blinking in surprise.
"The world may never know." Sol responded, causing Alicia to groan.
"Really? The tootsie pop commercial?" was all she had to say to that, shaking her head.

AncientKronosmon sighed in relief. Finally, someone of actual intellectual worth that he could speak with. "It is glad to be able to speak with some one of actual intellect. All this baboon thinks about is bettering himself and worrying how he looks to other people. Honestly, I'll never be able to reassemble our spirit at this rate..."
"Oh stop complaining! Your the one that randomly merged with me." Gallatin spoke out, abandoning the mind connection. If his spirit wanted to talk to other people about how "worthless" he was then Gallatin wouldn't stand by passively. Straightening himself, Gallatin slowly walked up to to Alicia. "H-hello... It is a p-p-pleasure to acquaint myself with you...." He started semi-stuttering, but stopped himself... wait... something was wrong...
"CHRONO BREAK!" Gallatin shouted out as time froze around him. He looked around to realize there was an arrow literally an inch away from Alicia's head. "What the hell!?" Barely having time to think, he leapt forward and pinned Alicia to the ground as time resumed and the arrow whizzed by overhead. To the passerby that just looked, this would be a very compromising image... Sadly... this meant that for Alicia, it probably looked like literally one second she was standing and talking, the next she was on the ground...
"..." Nobody said a word for a few moments as Alicia and Gallatin looked at each other for a moment...
"Well, I guess we can add temporal assault and molestation to the list of crimes' you have committed." AncientKronosmon slyly commented in his mind, amused and knowing fully well how Gallatin had just saved both of their lives.

There was 'in a blink of an eye' and then there was this apparently. Alicia grunted as she hit the ground with the other Spirit User on top of her all of a sudden. The moment of silence that followed the sudden change of position was merely that way for Alicia because it took her that long to process what had happened. Once she did... her reaction was about what one would expect from someone in the scenario.
"G-Get off of me!" she screamed with indignant rage, shifting a bit and practically throwing the other Spirit User off of her with a hard shove. Grumbling to herself, she got back up onto her feet and dusted herself off. "What in blue blazes was that for? I swear some people can be hiding some really foul intentions. Because really? That's all kinds of wrong."
"He's also the only reason you're not dead right now." Sol mentioned off hand. "Get your D-Scanner ready, just in case. We've got enemy contact it seems." It was such a casual admission of the circumstances and the upcoming threat that it threw Alicia off guard.
"W-Wha? Oh for crying out loud." Kneeling down again, she pulled her D-Scanner out and held it close to her chest, already forging the mental Steel she'd need to Spirit Evolve. It was odd though. This time she could feel an odd... tint to the Steel. It was darker then when she used Rustdramon or Steeldramon. Was something wrong with her newest spirit totem? That would be just her luck as she finalized the energy she needed.
"See where he is?" She asked Gallatin, looking over to the Time Spirit User.

Gallatin was still on the ground, breathless... " Oh come on. Can I seriously not win at anything?!" He thought while trying to find his breath. " *PANT* Y-you... It's over..." Gallatin pointed while panting, his digivice unholstered and in his hand. " It's behind that-" Another silence followed as Gallatin was pointing over Alicia's shoulder. He looked down for a moment at his chest to see an arrow shaft and tail sticking straight out of it, crimson red data leaking out of it. He attempted words, his eyes widening, as he fell backwards, almost slower than a falling feather, before he landed flat on his back, completely silent.
Behind the tree 13 yards behind Alicia, a black hooded figure lingered for a few seconds before vanishing into the trees.

"Well. That happened." Sol commented in shock. He could tell though that the boy would be fine given a moment to recover. He knew the kid was wearing a Holo-Suit after all. Alicia might not know exactly what was going on, but he figured telling her anything right now would help.
"W-What..." she muttered, glaring in the direction the mysterious assassin had escaped in. "That's it. Enough is enough. So what if someone notices me..." Rising, she glared ahead, her mind made up. The darkness in her Steel rose in response to her emotions as she spoke. "Bloody steel shall be hidden in shadows... Spirit Evolution!"
With a swipe of the D-Scanner dark mist poured out and swallowed her up briefly, before fading away to reveal a draconic figure standing in her place at the same height. Her new tail lashed about irritably as the newly evolved Digimon gripped some shurikens from her pouch. "ShadowArmsdramon..." she spoke softly. With that, she was off, her enhanced form carrying her through the path the archer had escaped through far faster then her old human body ever could.
Given it's roots as a ninja, she wasn't all that surprised. Ninjas were always known for being almost supernaturally fast. She was going to catch up to this blasted assassin and make him pay for what he did. Or at the very least force him to answer why he did what he did.
"Kid, don't push yourself too hard... This is you-" Sol began.
"Shut UP! I know what I'm doing!" the ninja dragon snapped back angrily, causing Sol to stop out of surprise. That was an uncharacteristically quick temper for her. It seemed she was already starting to be effected by the imbalance that currently existed in her Spirit. He only hoped that if they caught up to the assassin it wouldn't cloud her thoughts too badly.

Back where Gallatin had been left with an arrow in his... heart? His Holo Suit shattered into digital fragments before reforming into a ring around his finger; revealing the real Gallatin, whom had only been grazed in the shoulder thanks to his body placement in the Holo Suit. He slowly came to after hearing some kind of loud noise... " Wait... what just happened?" He asked aloud as his eyesight focused in and out. " Well, to recap and put it simply," AncientKronosmon answered in his mind. " You saved Alicia from being impaled in the back of the head by an arrow, she assumed you to be a molesting pervert, you were shot by an arrow, and she chased after your would-be assassin." His voice still serious. " I'd suggest you wait and recuperate before going after the-and your going after them right now aren't you." Gallatin smirked at this as he held his shoulder in one hand. " Come on A.K; you know me so well now. I feel honored." He felt his spirit groan before mentally transmitting the course the assailant and Alicia had taken. _________________________________________________________________________________________________ The armor clad figure that had shot the arrow, stood still as Alicia caught up in her new form. " Well... You humans truly do share no kinship, even when impersonating digimon." The figure spoke, before turning towards her and knocking up another arrow on his bow. The digimon let loose one into the tree next to Alicia, stepping into the light and revealing himself to be a Sagittarimon. "It was wise of you to leave the boy. I only have business with stopping him, so leave now and I shall not have to dispose of you as well. That boy is a freak of nature to both humans and digimon, and is a threat to all living things." He cocked another arrow and drew back his bow once more, this time the arrow glowing with some sort of energy. "This is your only warning."

"Oh can it you over grown hamster, I do share some kinship. My only regret is there's nothing I can do to fix what happened to him... I'm no doctor and we're far enough from the only hospital that he had no hope of surviving before he bled out... So the only thing I could do is to hunt down the guy who fired the killing shot." Alicia spat back with a nasty glare, the claws on her gauntlets gleaming a bit as she slid the steel blades out just a touch.
"Now answer me this, are you ready to rumble or are you just a yellow-bellied coward he only knows how to shoot people in the back?" The ShadowArmsdramon snarled under her mask and pulled out the shurikens she was gripping.
"Whispering Star..." Alicia called softly, launching four waves of ten shurikens each towards the Sagittarimon. As he was dealing with those, the ninja dragon slipped into the shadow of a near by tree, using the shade as a cover to silently shift positions so the centaur would have to guess where she was to attack her. It wasn't like he could afford to turn his back and flee while someone was waiting in the wings to attack him after all.
"Oh boy... Please keep your head on straight Alicia..." Sol mused, shaking his head. Maybe if he told her Gallatin lived, she'd calm down a bit. Maybe.

Sagittarimon paused for a few moments, which was used by Alicia to attack. He ignored her words as they were mere products of ignorance and anger, unnecessary emotions on the battlefield at the moment for him. He jumped from side to side, making note of the girl dragon disappearing from her position. He kept his bow cocked and concentrated, swiping it to the side to deflect some of the shurikens before firing his glowing arrow.
"JUDGEMENT ARROW!" He yelled out as his Super-Metal Chrome Digizoid arrow flew through the field of flying shurikens and destroying the rest. He smirked after realizing the girl's location. "You can't hide from me, human..."
This time, Sagittarimon let fly a quick, small, wooden arrow from his bow that flew straight into his still streaking Chrome Digizoid one. It glanced off of the metal arrow of light, sending it careening off course and rebounding off of trees before launching directly at where she was hiding in the tree behind him!!!

The ShadowArmsdramon growled a bit as the arrow bounced around and flew right towards her. She should've guessed the archer had a keen enough eye to see her moving even as she stacked the odds in her favor. Sharp eyesight was kind of a requirement for using his type of weapon properly.
Despite this, she wasn't particularly worried, she spun around, the blade on her tail gleaming as it swatted the arrow out of the sky with a satisfying 'clang!' which Alicia then took as the cue to lunge from her cover. Claws glimmered as they flicked out, readying to rend flesh from her tauric foe.
"Night Shredder!" she called, a beat of her wings sending her spiralling towards him with claws outstretched. She'd still managed to get close to her target, so he'd likely be hard pressed to swing around in time to shoot her. Even then, the spiralling motion of her claws would likely deflect any head on shot he made. He'd probably need a trick shot to get her.

Sagittarimon, not having enough time to cock another arrow, held up his bow in defense. He caught Alicia's outstretched claw in between his bow's spikes, effectively stopping her charge. He twisted it to the side, ensnaring her hand before drawing her form close. "Now..." He said while panting, the force of stopping the attack winding him. "What were you saying earlier?"
"Time to take a spin!" He shouted, twisting his bow to the side and sending Alicia spinning sideways like a lateral top. His chest rising up and down as a bead of sweat dripped under his armor, Sagittarimon considered his options. He didn't originally think that this fake digimon would be so strong, but he could tell that just from that single attack she had him overpowered... Readjusting his stance, he waited in response for the girl's next move in anticipation.

So this is what people meant when they said it felt like the world was spinning. Granted, having a move that sent her into a rapid spiral helped her adjust to unexpected spins a bit more easily. Still, she had to hook her claws into a nearby tree to halt her trip and take a moment to collect herself before being in fighting shape again. Thankfully the centaur archer seemed too winded to take advantage of the opening her dizziness gave him.
The muscles in her arm screamed in protest at being used like this, reminding her that even though she was somewhat toughened up by being in a Digimon form, yesterday's injuries were still keeping her from being at one hundred percent. Still, it would be enough to take this guy down if she fought smart. Tensing her legs, the ninja dragon launched herself skyward this time, into the shrouding canopy of the trees.
The whistle of flying steel followed shortly as shurikens went flying every which way, yet none of them were actually aimed at the Sagittarimon himself. The sound of their flight and impacts with various inanimate targets were merely a mask for the actual strike. Directly above the archer, Alicia dropped down silently, spiraling again with her claw gauntlets. "Night Shredder!" she hissed, beating her wings so as to aid gravity in accelerating her descent.
Would the centaur be able to react in time? Alicia was aiming for the back of the digimon's horse half.
