The Champions' D-Day Night [Marshal|Invite]

It was an electrifying clear night in Terminus City. Neon lights flashing as far as the eye could see; late night Trailmons taking tired workers home and enthusiastic revellers into the city; and digimon and humans alike gathering in the shining capital of this new world for fun and escape that they couldn't find anywhere else.
Among these were Colin James and his twin partners Bellamy the Impmon and Luke the Elecmon. Colin for one was a little nervous to be out this late. The 13 year old would certainly never be permitted out this late in the nightlife in Tokyo. However, here, with his twin partners to protect him; as well as his mentors and friends, and of course, his fellow members of PROFIT, he felt like he could walk with his head high and experience the night life.
Of course Colin never did anything that would make his family disapprove. He would not drink until he turned 20, he would not smoke, gamble or do anything like that, simply walk among the nightlife and have fun on the topside of the law.
His partners, meanwhile, of course didn't have the same inhibitions. Or at least, one of them didn't. Bellamy was merrily drinking from a can of mixed spirits, pleased to have a warm buzz around his head at this time of night. The Impmon did not drink excessively of course, but just the one was giving him a pleasant feeling. And since Bellamy was about a third the mass of a human, it had the effect of three drinks on him.
"Whew, this kicks ass!" he said, finishing the drink and throwing the can away in a bin. "Let's go to a club, Colin!"
"Um... I'm not sure" Colin said. The nightclubs were blaring some really loud music. And he'd prefer to just experience the nightlife in open areas. He didn't feel ready to get lost in a club full of people older than him, as well as a bunch of revelling drunk digimon.
"How 'bout we head over here?" Luke suggested, walking toward a brightly lit promenade by the river that ran through Terminus. "Plenty of cafe's around here, where we can sit down for a while and sober up" he finished to his brother, who burped at that moment. While tipsy, Bellamy certainly wasn't inebriated yet.
"Yeah sure" he said. And so the three of them walked down the promenade, looking for a nice cafe to celebrate their successes at.

Marshal and Coronamon hadn't really experienced the night life of Terminus City, and it was every bit as amazing as they had expected it to be. The pair were just out and about, seeing the sights, when Marshal noticed Colin and his twins on the streets. "Hey, Colin!" he shouted and waved, walking over to the younger Tamer. He was a bit shocked to see the younger kid out at this time of night, but figured that the Digital World was a place for everyone.
Upon hearing Marshal call out Colin, Coronamon's ears perked up. If Colin was there, then that meant...!
Coronamon squeaked nervously and hid behind Marshal.

Colin heard the voice call out to him. He turned around eagerly, not with any fear seeing that he had not met anyone particularly hostile here yet. And there he saw Marshal and Coronamon.
"Ah! Hey guys!" Colin said, waving to them. Luke and Bellamy turned around. Luke with an expression of delight to see friends they had met on the very first day of his life; and Bellamy saw them like that too.
Aw, Coronamon seemed a little shy, hiding behind his partner like that. Bellamy wondered why that was so. "Heya Coronamon!" he called. "Heh what's the matter? Surely a digimon as strong as you ain't scared of little old me, eh?" he giggled. "Come awn, we're friends ain't we?"
"Well you do tend to be a bit forward with people" Luke pointed out, matter-of-factly.
"Pah, since when?" Bellamy asked, haughitly.
"Since you physically picked up that Veemon while he was working and took him on a date" Luke said.
"Oh come awn, that was just the once while my nerves were all picked up by Hikaru hitting on me" Bellamy argued. "And Veemon liked it too so I didn't do nothin' wrong"
Luke shrugged, hoping that Bellamy wouldn't go too overboard here.

Marshal, ever in-tune with Coronamon's emotions, suddenly picked up on his partner's feelings. It was obvious! The moment Coronamon saw the twins, he got flustered and hid. Even now that Bellamy was talking to him, he began to blush profusely. And that time in Whitewater...
Coronamon had feellings for Bellamy! Marshal wasn't sure how these things worked in Digimon society, but he grinned goofily nonetheless.
Coronamon was so flustered he could barely speak. "H-hi, Luke, hi Bellamy," he stammered. "W-what makes you th-think I'm scared? I'm f-f-fine!"
Marshal couldn't hold it any longer and burst out laughing. Coronamon whipped around and looked at his Tamer with horror. He clearly knew what was going on! Hopefully Bellamy wouldn't catch on...not that Coronmon would be upset!

Was... was Coronamon blushing? Bellamy found it had to see, especially with Coronamon's orange fur and the neon lights, but... was it true? Did Coronamon... like him?
The Impmon didn't really know what to say. Damn, he shouldn't have crammed down that drink earlier. If he was sober he would've been able to think of something, but instead, when a digimon he thought was cute seemed to act all shy like this, he was momentarily lost for words. Normally he liked flirting just to mess around, but he wasn't used to actual success.
"What makes us think you're scared?" Luke repeated. "Well, that reaction probably did it" he chuckled. Realizing Bellamy was probably as surprised as he was that Coronamon might like him, the Elecmon thought he might prompt a good idea for them.
"Hey, how about we find a cafe around here and catch up?" he suggested.
"Y-yeah! That sounds great!" Bellamy agreed. "Right, Colin?"
"Sure" Colin said, thinking that was the reason why they were here in the first place. Unlike Luke, Colin was a little slow to catch on to the chemistry in the air. Bellamy grinned, turning to Coronamon, still smiling.
"So hey, that sound okay to you, buddy?" he asked, hopefully.

Coronamon was nigh incapable of speech at this point, with Bellamy so close to him, so Marshal answered for him. "We'd love to," he said, still chuckling to himself. "Lead the way!"
Meanwhile, Coronamon was freaking out in several different ways. On one hand, he was mortified that all these feelings were suddenly coming to light, but on the other, he was ecstatic that Bellamy hadn't totally rejected him! He had been struggling to come to terms with this ever since that day in Whitewater, so hopefully this could end up leading to something!

"Alrighty then" Luke said, rubbing his paws together eagerly as it was agreed. "I've heard of this place up ahead, haven't seen it before, but I'm told the owner's nice. I heard it from Koharu anyway". He then looked up at Marshal and Coronamon. "You guys know Koharu too don't you? I mean we did meet in Whitewater, but she's a part of PROFIT too. We joined recently as well" he passed on the news excitedly.
"Yeah we did" Colin agreed, nodding. "Gladius told us about it, then we met Yuu and Kyo again and... we pretty much joined up to start doing jobs for people. It's pretty neat".
Bellamy meanwhile, supposing that he might try and encourage Coronamon that it was all fine, nothing wrong would come of this, he walked up to the orange feline digimon and put an arm around him in a friendly way. "It'll be fine, Corona. Nobody's gonna judge ya" he winked. "At the very least, we can get to know each other a little, right?". Even if Coronamon was a little on the shy side, they could hopefully just learn a little about each other. And Bellamy was eager to learn. Of course he took an interest in all of his friends, especially those that seemed to like him on a higher level.
Luke lead them toward a cafe at the middle of the promenade. It was fairly quiet, due to the night having a bit of a chilly air most likely. But since all three of the digimon either had thick fur or fire elemental powers, and since Colin for one was wearing warm winter clothes, it didn't bother them that much.
As they approached the cafe, they were immediately approached by a Gaomon waiter, who wore a waiter's jacket (eschewing trousers) and an... interesting fake moustache. Or was it real? Colin couldn't tell.
"Ah, welcome!" he said. "Would you like a seat?"
"Sure thing" Luke said, nodding. "Garand... is it? I heard about this place from Koharu"
"Ah... yes! I am Garand" the Gaomon said, putting on a slight French accent. The namedropping seemed to have an immediate effect. "Of course you're welcome here! I'll let you get comfortable and take your order".
He left them alone. Colin picked a table near the window for them - sheltered from the wind, but still with the view and fresh scents of the outdoors around. Luke and Bellamy sat at either side.
"So, what's been happening with you guys?" Colin asked, eagerly. Bellamy meanwhile wondered to prompt the conversation with Coronamon or to wait for him to start.

Marshal smiled at Luke and Colin. "Hey, that's awesome that you guys joined PROFIT!" he said happily. "I'm still helping them rebuild after that one incident, but I didn't know that Koharu was a member."
Meanwhile, Coronamon could hardly contain himself. Bellamy had put his arm around him! Whether this was just a friendly gesture or...something else, he couldn't be sure, but he still tensed up in anticipation. "Y-yeah," he said, calming down a bit. "You're right." He smiled at the Impmon as the group took their seats at the cafe.
"We haven't done much since the last time we met," Marshal admitted. "We've only really been doing more investigating into...certain matters." He wasn't sure how much Colin and the twins knew about what had been going on behind the scenes, but it would probably be to their benefit if they didn't know.
Coronamon, meanwhile, was having trouble actually starting conversation with Bellamy. This really wouldn't go anywhere if he didn't say something! "S-so how are you guys?" he asked, starting to get flustered yet again.

"Yep, that's right" Colin said, smiling. "I just thought since you and Yuu were the first people I met in the digital world, and other members like Ryouta and Koharu helped me out too, I though I might join up and help you guys out too. I mean, it sounds pretty awesome, going around doing jobs to help people out and get a bit of cash in return". He chuckled a bit at this. While of course he would have done it without the cash since the digital world did look like it was pretty busted up, still, he felt like he was getting something really good in return for this.
Bellamy meanwhile was glad that Coronamon was relaxing a little. He wanted his friend to feel good after all, not all tensed up. Hopefully after a nice chat they'd both feel a bit loosened up.
Marshal then said that he and Coronamon had been investigating 'behind the scenes' a little. Colin nodded with understanding. "Ah, I see. That's probably above my level anyway" he chuckled.
Then Coronamon asked how they were. Colin could hold back his news no longer. "We're going great. Luke and Bellamy can digivolve to their Champion levels now!"
"Heh, yeah, although it takes a bit of getting used to" Luke chuckled. "I digivolve to Teslamon, and Bellamy evolves to Flawizarmon. It's a bit eerie suddenly growing taller than Colin"
"But of course obvious ain't it?" Bellamy grinned. "Champion levels are almost always bigger than humans". He turned back to Coronamon. "How 'bout you, pal? I think I heard you say you could digivolve to Mega earlier. Is that right?" he asked, curiously.

"Hey, that's awesome!" Marshal grinned. "You guys are doing pretty well for yourselves. It took Coronamon and I a while to get up to Champion. Once we got there, though, we kept improving more quickly."
Coronamon remembered how he had totally lied back in Whitewater about reaching Mega level to that whole group of people. Of course, that was no longer a bluff, and it had been easier as of late for him to Warp Digivolve. "You bet that's right!" he said confidently. "I'll have to show you sometime." He laughed. He was finally starting to loosen up around Bellamy!

"Yeah, I'll say" Colin chuckled. "We went with Yuu, Kyo and Gladius on a mission to sort out some smugglers on an island off Whitewater City. We met some trouble there, as expected, then my digivice glowed and these guys just flashed into their new forms".
He remembered it well, the threat growing real at first, then suddenly Luke growing up and wielding an electrified spear, then Bellamy growing and wielding a pair of matchstick wands, both of them defending him. That feeling of impending triumph would not leave Colin any time soon.
Bellamy meanwhile kept smiling at Coronamon. "Heh, nice. Is your mega form as cute as your rookie form?" he asked, resting his cheek on his palm, his elbow on the table.
At this moment, Garand the Gaomon returned, a notepad and pen in his paws. "Are you all ready to order now?" he asked, pleasantly, ready to take down any light snacks or warm drinks they would like to consume here at this moment.

"Huh," Marshal huffed. "I wonder why we weren't invited on this mission. Come to think of it, I haven't heard much of anything from PROFIT in quite a while. I wonder if they forgot about us?"
If Coronamon's blush wasn't noticeable before, it certainly was now. He was getting so flustered that even the flame on the tip of his tail began to flare up wildly. "I-I'll leave that up to you to decide," he smirked, giving the fellow Rookie a light wink.
The waiter finally showed up, and Marshal ordered some hot chocolate. Coronamon, on the other hand, asked if they had any alcohol on hand. Marshal didn't even know that Coronamon drank, or maybe he was trying to...show off?

"Hm. Well, I guess we were just in the right place at the right time?" Colin suggested, shrugging at Marshal. "We should keep an eye on what they're planning next maybe? From what I gather of PROFIT so far, they're pretty ambitious, at least at the upper level".
"Yeah, they are" Luke agreed. "We also headed up north to help out Koharu build up an inn in the ruined Snowflake Village. She seems like someone who's got a good head on her shoulders". Indeed, Luke had been impressed with how intelligent Koharu was with her plans up there.
Bellamy meanwhile smiled at Coronamon as he seemed to get a little bit flustered, his flames going all bright. "Heh, look forward to seein' your Mega form then" he said, his tail flicking playfully. "Although I'm sure any form you have is cute enough". He blushed himself at this awkward line. Man, he hoped he wasn't coming across as too desperate.
Garand the Gaomon meanwhile wrote down Marshal's order of hot chocolate. "I might have the same thanks" Colin added. Garand nodded, marking down a 'x2' on his notes.
"A Latte for me thanks" Luke said, the Elecmon deciding he should stay kinda sober tonight given what his brother seemed to be doing. Garand then looked at Coronamon who asked for something alcoholic.
"Ah, of course" he said, brightly. "We have brandy, wine, cognac, lager, of course the full list is here" he handed Coronamon a drinks list.
"Can I have one too?" Bellamy asked awkwardly. Garand complied, handing him a list as well.

Marshal leaned over to his Digimon. "Do you even know what you're doing?" he whispered.
Coronamon waved his Tamer off, figuring that he could be responsible for whatever happened. "I'll go for some brandy," he said to the Gaomon, handing the drink menu back. This couldn't possibly go wrong, right?

"Brandy it is" Garand said, marking down Coronamon's order. Bellamy meanwhile settled for a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. "And that of course too" Garand added, delighted. "Well then. I'll get it all ready for you".
The Gaomon retreated back into the cafe, readying their beverages. Bellamy meanwhile was interested to hear more of what Coronamon had to say.
"So, you're a Mega level right?" he asked, curiously. "So how did you end up that strong? What about when you digivolved to Champion, eh? What happened there?" Bellamy was genuinely interested. Seeing as Coronamon seemed to be interested in him, Bellamy felt the same in return. He was curious to hear more of the fiery feline's past and wanted very much to hear his story as the drinks came.
Luke meanwhile thought he had to hand it to his brother. Being so genuinely interested in a possible romantic partner while not succumbing to initial charms took a lot of effort. Although Luke could tell that maybe Coronamon was learning a little from this encounter too. Bellamy was a lot to deal with in any case, but he hoped that the fiery lion digimon would end up being happy with his brother as a friend.
