Elliot blushed a little at compliment, looking down at his feet. "Aww, you think?" he asked. "I always thought it sounded kinda stuffy, and a bit hard to make nicknames for. But I'm really glad you like it." If this conversation was awkward before, his response to the compliment sure wasn't helping. Elliot was already mentally kicking himself for how the words just came out of him like that, and it was clear he was a bit relieved when Isaac swooped in to change the subject.
"Seventeen, huh? Jeez," he said. "That'd be fun to talk about at parties. Although I'm glad nothing bad happened. Not that I'd worry too much about it. You seem like you've done a good job of taking care of yourself so far." Isaac had a point there. In the time since they diverted, Mana had navigated both worlds and gotten her memory back, at least in part. Elliot and Isaac, on the other hand, flew in circles until they lucked out and passed out in front of her feet. Despite all their worries, their friend was never in any real danger.
Well, besides the danger of weird hallucinations. Was that a Digimon thing? Elliot wasn't sure. He'd seen a lot of weird stuff in the Digital World, but hallucinating like that was still foreign to him. "Inside of your memories?" he repeated, a little bit baffled. Or, rather, inside of a supposed memory while with a supposed boyfriend. Elliot shuddered a little, thinking how scary the experience must have felt. Not knowing if you can trust your thoughts, or people who once loved you . . .
"Best of luck sorting it out later," Elliot responded, wishing he could be of more help but understanding that a tactful step back was what Mana needed right now.
Thankfully, if there were any lingering thoughts, they were all left behind at the entrance to the shack. Elliot and Isaac looked around, a little curious that they were heading here instead of Whitewater's pristine, beautiful beaches. Then again, if shade was what Mana wanted, there were probably few places better. Isaac promptly took Mana's advice and hopped onto one of the hammocks, while Elliot looked at one a little bit uncomfortably. Vertical could be hard for him, having only one good leg to push off of. Vertical that would also try to twist away from him and sway as he tried to get onto it? That sounded like a nightmare! He smiled sheepishly and instead sat at the chair, making sure to turn it away from the desk so he wouldn't see anything he shouldn't.
"Not a bad place. What's it for most days?" Isaac asked, stifling a bit of a yawn.

"Yeah. It was... an interesting experience, so to say. Oh well, I'm glad that's done." That chain of events had been strange at the very least. "And I wouldn't say I did a good job at taking care of me, but... I survived, at least, so I can't really complain."
Lest to say, she didn't want to repeat most of those experiences ever again. She knew she could weather them again if they happened but definitely preferred not to. "Thanks; for now I'd prefer to not to think about it though."
Now, onto happier topics... at least now they were under a shade. What a relief... "This place? Uhh... according to the person who owns it, it's the base of operations of an organization of sorts? It's called P.R.O.F.I.T. and its leader kinda... let me stay here for as much as I wanted. One of the few supposed "old acquaintances" I've met that didn't behave super weirdly around me."
"Miss Yuu has been really kind and helpful with us thus far. Even though both she and her partner are... strange fellows, in more than one sense." Well, maybe it was the fact that she acted overly familiar around them, but that was something pretty much everyone that claimed to know them did. Still... something felt a bit weird about her; oh well....
Ayaka's train of thought was interrupted abruptly by Suzuran entering the place. Like always, the fairy wore a perpetually irked face; first she looked where her partners were, then gave a through look at the two human males she didn't know. "Who are these?"

"Wait, really? This doesn't look much like a church," Elliot remarked, looking around in a state of mild confusion. It looked more like a shack than anything. Maybe it was one of those really subtle ones? After all, not every church was as ornate as the ones that Elliot was used to, even with him having very little experience with churches in general. "Still, I'm glad you were able to find someone to rely on! I know this kind of thing can be really helpful for finding your footing in a time of confusion."
Isaac rolled his eyes at the confusion. "No, no, she doesn't mean Prophet. She means Profit. This is, like, a shop or something," he said. Does Mana even speak enough English for this pun to make sense? Does she even remember what any of these languages were? Is there some Digital World translation mumbo-jumbo going on here? Who cares, this narrator thinks it's funny. "Or maybe a storeroom? I dunno, it makes more sense than a church, at least. What kind of stuff do they sell?"
Still, the nature of this place probably didn't matter too much. What mattered was that Mana had found someplace, and someone, safe to put her trust in. This applied to both P.R.O.F.I.T. and the Digimon that were now looking after her, the latter of which making her way into the room now. In contrast to Ayaka, who was all too polite, this one looked a lot more suspect of the duo.
"Hi! I'm Elliot, and this is my brother Isaac," Elliot said, smile not wavering in the face of the irked look he was currently receiving. "It's great to meet you!"
"We're Mana's friends," Isaac added. "The ones she was looking for with those posters. Are you her other Digimon partner?"

Soon enough, Mana found herself staring at the brothers in mild confusion? Prophet? Church? It only came to her way down the line, but she understood that what they meant was that Elliot mistook the word profit for... prophet.
And promptly began to laugh at it as if it was the funniest joke of the world. "Oh guys. You're just a piece of work. I frankly have no idea about what people does in here, in all honesty. What I know is that I can stay here and that's good enough for me. Maybe you guys can ask the person who owns it? Her name is Yuu; she's like some kind of police too, I think? Pretty awesome, if you ask me." And hopefully not illegal, now that she thought about it. The whole deal about PROFIT seemed a bit shady. "Anyhow... what have you guys been up to? I mean, sides searching me. Anything you have in store?"
Eventually, their conversation ground to a halt as soon as Suzuran appeared. Regarding both brothers with an inquisitive look, she finally shrugged at her presence, still going through her business with a small smirk on her face. "Hmph. Greetings, humans. I will praise your deduction abilities; how did you find out I was this girl's partner?"
Of course she was being sassy, much to Ayaka's dismay. But at least that comment had entertained her. "In all honesty, I am amazed that the posters were good enough to find you two." She made a small pause, looking at them. "But now that I think of it, it is a really good approximation of how you two look."
"You think so? Thanks, Suzu! I did my best at drawing them." The fairy rolled her eyes both at that answer and at her sister's accusing gaze.
"So..." Better to try and cool down the situation. "Do we have any plans for today? It would be a shame for this reunion to end just like this. We should totally celebrate."

The brothers hadn't heard of the organization before either, that's for sure. However, they did hear of the person in charge of it. "Oh, Yuu? We've seen her before," Elliot said, trying to remember where and when. "She seemed really nice. I'm glad she was able to help you! I didn't know she was part of the police, though." He blinked as he realized a question he had never considered before. "I didn't even realize the Digital World had police!"
"She told us," Isaac said, promptly erasing any respect that Suzuran may have had for his deductive skills. "Although you look like your sister, I've been around the Digital World long enough to know that doesn't mean too much." Being in a train crash with one Renamon and one cybernetic enhanced Renamon had already shown Isaac that duplicates were not only possible but also quite probable.
Then again, Suzuran seemed to think that they looked like stick figures, so it wasn't like Digimon were the best judges either. Maybe the bros should have been offended by the comparison, but Mana seemed so happy about them that neither brother could bring themselves to say anything about it. "Well, good thing you did. I don't know if anyone would've found us otherwise," Elliot said. "I mean, they probably would have, but just to mug us or something. Which when we have Digivices is a really, really bad risk." Remembering how much chaos Raremon kicked up when he stole their spirits, Elliot really didn't want to think of what someone actually competent could do.
"Celebrate? I'm in," Isaac said, grinning. "What do you say, Elliot? Ready for a break?"
"Oh, I've been ready," Elliot said, the relief in his voice comparable to that of a thirsty man dumped in an oasis. "What do you guys want to do?"

So, they knew her...? That was interesting! "Oh? Where did you meet her? I'm interested in the story! And... yeah, she's been nice thus far, even though I've been left to my devices most of the time. Not that's something bad, though! I enjoy being able to do what I want."
Maybe those weren't the right words? Considering the both Elliot and Isaac had allegedly been searching her like mad, saying that wasn't very nice. "Doesn't mean that I don't like hanging around you guys! Don't get me wrong." The redhead said rapidly, hopefully preventing any offended looks before it was too late.
The whole scene with Suzuran felt a bit tense, at least from Ayaka's viewpoint. Lest to say, at least her sister looked entertained and both brothers didn't seem to mind her snide remarks. Or maybe had chosen to not to notice them. Aaanyhow... "Oh man, that'd be awful! I've never gotten my digivice stolen, but I can imagine how distressing it must feel. Especially since inside you probably have the means to get it back, just in case a hostile digimon or something robbed you."
Now, regarding the small celebration they'd soon have, what they'd do? That was an interesting question. They had a fair bit of options, and Ayaka wasn't sure on which one would appeal the brothers the most. "Well... we could always go to one of those places if you want to. If I remember correctly, the most famous of them is called... Caritas, I think? On the other hand, I think a resort of sorts was opened recently in this city. We could go there to. Or you could propose something. I am sure that Miss Mana is up to any activity you might have in mind."
As if to emphasize Ayaka's point, the teenager nodded with a smile on her face. Both Elliot and Isaac were fun to hang around with, so she guessed they liked doing fun stuff too.

"Yeah. She's really nice, even if she tends to leave things independent a bunch," Elliot concurred. "We saw her in the forest, where there was this girl that just got released from a crystal. They seemed really close, so it was a nice reunion they had together. Kinda wish I knew what was going on for it better, though." It was always a little bit awkward being around for such a touching reunion as total strangers, but at least everyone involved seemed really nice. Hopefully the bros would be able to see more from them in the future.
At Mana's odd word choice, Isaac blinked before finding himself snickering along. He raised a hand to his chest in mock offense, an exaggerated gasp on his face. "Well, I never!" he said, standing up and moving for the door. "I can see we're being the buzzkills here, Elliot. Let's just go home so Mana can do what she wants without worrying about us."
The second Isaac's foot brushed against the doorframe, he promptly turned on his heel and walked back. "Nah, I totally get you," he said. "Our plan was nice and all, but half the fun of this place is getting the space to roam. So I'm really glad we didn't get to spoil that for ya."
Speaking of spoiled, Digivice robbery was one major way to spoil that kind of trip. Elliot shook his head at Mana's assessment of the situation. "I mean, it's kind of inside us, but kind of not? Without our Digivices, we really can't access our spirits," Elliot said. "Thankfully we haven't been in a position to lose ours yet, but it must feel really scary going from having all that power to losing it quickly."
That was too glum of a topic. Time to move onto happier ones! The bros listened to Suzuran's suggestions, Elliot letting out a sigh of relief as soon as the word Resort was mentioned. Isaac tried not to laugh as he heard it, especially since Elliot was doing his best to appear subtle. "I think Elliot could use a break, personally. Resort sound good to you guys?"

"I don't really know her that much, to be honest." Mana couldn't but add rather quickly. The fact that she was more familiar with her than the other way around was a bit unsettling, but it was far from the most unsettling thing she had lived in this world. After all, she had got drunk of all things.
In all honesty, she was a little afraid of reactions like the one Isaac had so skillfully acted, and couldn't but sigh in utter relief when that was proved to be mostly a joke. "If it helps anything, I looked forward to that small trip we're about to make. Me getting lost and drunk in the process was... not something I'd say I planned in advance. When I said what I said, I mostly referred to... you know, not being bound to something I don't wanna do." For example, she had expected to do some menial labor in order to pay off staying in this place. Luckily, that hadn't been the case.
The plan was in motion, then! The newly opened resort awaited for them. They only had to... walk there. "Well, if everyone's ready... let's go! Relaxation unheard to man or digimon awaits us!"
Not finding anything worthwhile to say, both Aya and Suzuran just went behind her partner.

"Heh. Sorry 'bout that, I was just messing with you," Isaac said, feeling a slight twinge of guilt at Mana's sigh of relief. He figured he hammed it up way too much to make her legit afraid! "Still, we can try the trip another time if you ever want. Digital World's not going anywhere, and neither's the human one for that matter.
How'd you like your time back there, if I can ask? Anything ring a bell?"
Isaac may have had a good point, but Elliot had an even better one. "I mean, isn't Whitewater one of the big stops on the plan anyway?" he asked. "If anything, this resort's a way better idea than just sitting on the beach! I've never had the chance to go to one of these before, so I'm really excited. You have a chance to see yet, Mana?"
Of course, the bros would need to get moving before they could head to their destination. Slowly and groggily, yet filled with determination, the two flopped out of their seats and started heading for the door. Next stop, relaxation! (Sorry for this one being kinda short and lame D: )

No biggie! My last post was a bit of a transition thing, if anything anyway. Isaac seemed to have comprehended Mana's reaction all to well; truth to be told, even if she liked to have time for herself and those things every now and then, she had a promise with the brother's right? Or an agreement of sorts, at the very least. And if they were up to it, she intended to respect her end to it, even though it was mostly to just be a treated a trip through the Digital World. "I'll make up for this, guys. I promise." She had caused them grief after all, right? It was natural for Mana to try and make up for... their detour.
Going through the door and making sure that the brothers were right behind her, she went in the direction she believed the resort was. The question posed by Isaac made the redhead think; did she remember something about this place? Currently, nothing concise came to her head, but... probably? "I think it's something... gradual, really?" The girl answered, a bit suddenly. "Like, sometimes, I don't even realize I remembered something until I look at myself and ask "how did I know that?". Remembering is definitely harder than I've imagined..."
She wasn't big on complex stuff anyway. But, as long as she eventually got the entirety of her memory back, that'd be okay for her. "Like, for example, I remember Aya being with me the last time, but Suzu's like... not there? Or maybe I simply don't remember her. Feels a bit weird, but at least I'm glad that she's with us now!"
While on the backline, a rather pronounced "Hmph." was heard coming from a certain plant lady, the group finally arrived to place that very much resembled a spa. It looked interesting. "So, tell me guys; you don't look to be all that Japanese, so I guess you arrived in Japan somehow? For some reason, everyone who I've seen in the Digital World came to Shibuya for some reason before coming here, so... how come you moved? Or are you on a vacation or something?"
Maybe it wasn't a good topic to make conversation about? Maybe it was something the bros didn't want to talk about, but... it was something that intrigued Mana to some extent, so she couldn't resist to ask.

"Really, you don't gotta make it up," Isaac said, a good natured grin on his face. What grief had Mana caused them? Okay, sure, they stayed in the Digital World way longer than they usually did, but that wasn't always a bad thing. Besides, it was a little fun just cutting loose and exploring, even if it meant they ended up very tired as a result. "You're showing us around to a nice resort. That's plenty, trust me."
Also plenty was the progress she was making in recompiling her memories. Elliot listened with interest as she described how, slowly but surely, everything was starting to come together. Isaac wasn't much of a studier, but Elliot was always fascinated hearing how things worked. In this case memories were especially fascinating. "I guess that makes sense. There's no way it could really be as dramatic as it is in movies," he mused. "And I mean, how are you supposed to recognize something before you recognize it?" Elliot, that only made questionable amounts of sense, if any at all.
Did having only one twin make sense? Maybe. Elliot wasn't really sure how they worked, or how Digimon families worked at all. Was it possible for a Digicore to just . . . split off like that? Honestly, the more he thought about how Digimon worked, the more fascinating they seemed. Maybe if the Digital World became less of a secret in the future, he could start studying that! It was either that or creative writing teacher so far on Elliot's long list of job prospects.
"Yeah, 100% foreigner here," Isaac commented, lapsing back into the especially egregious American accent he had upon first arriving. "Funniest thing? You're totally right on the vacation part. Or at least that was what mom told us at first. She was always kinda scouting out a move here once things started getting stale in California, but until she was sure she just wanted to pass it off as a nice little trip for us. 'Course, I can't say I have any regrets about it in the end."
"Can't lie, it took a lot of getting used to," Elliot said, looking down at his feet slightly. "But I think I'm really enjoying it here!"

"Too bad." A small smile was already drawn in Mana's face. "I never back away from my promises, you know? You'll have to deal with me making up for your troubles, like it or not." She wasn't having that speech of "you're already doing enough as it is" even that surprised her a bit coming off Isaac. She could've sworn that those kind of comments were more on the Elliot side of the scale.
Then that meant that Isaac was becoming... a little more mature? That was good! Well, at least she wanted to believe that. Elliot's question, on the other hand, was an interesting one! How people usually handled memory loss was something the redhead hadn't really thought about. "It's funny that I don't remember watching movies where any of the characters lost their memory, so I have no idea on what you're talking about. But if you say so... guess you're right."
That wasn't something she was too keen on discussing, though. The nebulous nature of memory was probably saved for a moment when she was willing to be a little more serious; better to shift into something more lighthearted like... the fact that both bros were ferners. "California sounds like a nice place; have you ever been homesick? I kinda feel like that at times." That thought had its quota of weirdness because... the girl couldn't really recall how her hometown was, just that it wasn't Tokyo. She could remember a peak, and snow pretty much everywhere, but the rest of the picture was blurry. At least she was glad that they were liking Japan. She could imagine how hard was getting used to such a different country; heck, east and west could very well be two different worlds.
It had taken them some time, but they had finally arrived to their destination! The resort looked a bit luxurious, but it wasn't overly so. Big wooden doors, easily big enough to fit a Greymon stood in front of them. Whether they were intimidating or not, Mana didn't seem to care too much; with a smile, she pushed them open, revealing a wide hall, and a RedVeggiemon, probably acting as receptionist. "So, what plans do we have? What are we gonna try first? The pool? The spa? Maybe a massage? I'll let you pick."

"That sounds familiar, doesn't it?" Elliot mused, smirking.
Isaac blushed a little in surprise. Elliot's jab had clearly made its mark. "Not even close," Isaac protested, the tone of voice suggesting that yes, he always did this kind of thing. The small smile on Elliot's face was one of pure victory.
He turned to Mana, grin taking on a bit more of a cheeky tone. "Don't worry, my big bro's just as stubborn as you are," he explained. "You two could be at this all day if you really wanted to." Maybe it'd end up in one of those endless cycles of repaying each other. Those were always fun! Or at least they were for Elliot, who would be the one watching and giggling the whole time.
Less fun was the subject of homesickness. Elliot looked down at his feet a little, sighing. "Even after all this time, yeah, I do," he said. "Shibuya's nice, but I've got friends back home I miss. Places I never had the chance to go. Things I've always wanted to do. Getting to see my dad." The cheer his voice usually had was steadily fading away. It was clear this was a bit of a sore subject for him.
Isaac already knew what his answer was, but paused as he noticed Elliot's downtrodden nature. "Yeah. Me too," he said, hiding his true thoughts on the matter beneath another spot of acting. "It'd be nice to go back sometime, I think." At the very least the response did what Isaac intended. Elliot was smiling yet again, even if it had a somewhat sad veneer over it.
At mention of a pool, the bros immediately shot each other a look. "We totally didn't bring swimsuits, did we?" Isaac asked.
"Oh, darnit," Elliot said, huffing slightly. "So I guess the pool's right out, huh?"
"Think so," Isaac muttered, a bit disappointed. "I could go for a massage, personally. What're you up for, Mana?"

Seemingly, Isaac and Mana had some common ground on their stubbornness? Well, that wasn't very surprising! "There isn't anything wrong with not wanting to back down from a promise, you know? I can appreciate somebody who's willing to stick to their promises regardless of the consequences." A confident smirk took over the redhead features. There wasn't anything bad on having firm convictions, at least for her. "I wouldn't mind him repaying me back if he ever feels in debt, but he'll have to bear with me whenever the tables turn. Isn't that fair?"
Thinking about it a little more thoroughly, why the heck had she asked about them feeling homesickness? That hadn't been the smartest move on her part. Feeling dumb for making such a gross misstep, an apologetic expression soon made its way through her features. "I'm sorry. Shouldn't have asked you about it. Hope things look up to you."
Man, that definitely felt a bit awkward, at least for Mana. Maybe she could be a bit reserved with her questions about that. Oh well, with any luck, the resort would help them ease their concerns regarding this. "Oh, don't worry bout that, guys! I think we can rent swimsuits, so if you really want to get to the pool, that shouldn't be a problem! On the other hand, the massage is a great idea too. I'm fine with any, really!"
As the trio of humans talked among themselves, Ayaka and Suzuran looked at each other. Pondering on the options they had in this place. Silently whispering among them, they began to form a plan. What could it be? It was a mystery!

Isaac sighed. He hated feeling like people owed him, but it seemed like nothing would be shaking Mana anytime soon. "Deal. Just remember, though. You picked the wrong guy to pet against in a stubborn-off." The look on his face was quite good natured. At least Isaac wasn't taking it personally! " 'Sides, I can respect conviction. Especially from someone we just met. Shows if push comes to shove, we can count on each other in a pinch."
Elliot was just really glad to see everyone getting along. He was a little afraid all of this this stubbornness would get the two of them cranky, but instead they just seemed to be adopting it as a friendly challenge.
Less cheerful was Elliot's reaction to Mana's question. As she expressed remorse he started shaking his head in worry. "No, no, please! It's okay!" he insisted, quickly trying to put a smile back on. "I miss home sometimes, but I'm happy here too. I'm seeing stuff I never thought I'd find before, and meeting all sorts of cool new people. Like you!" The last thing he'd ever want was for anyone to feel guilty on his behalf.
Maybe all three of them should've entered this stubborn-off.
Swimsuit rentals were an interesting idea, but it was probably a bit too intimate for Elliot's tastes. He was a total clean freak. Putting on a swimsuit someone else used? Perish the thought! Judging by the somewhat unnerved look in his eyes, Isaac realized it'd probably take a lot of convincing to get Elliot to agree. "I think the massage sounds good. My shoulders are still killing me from when they were wings," he said, quickly trying to divert the subject before Elliot could start worrying out loud.
"Although, I gotta wonder. What kind of Digimon gets a job as a massage therapist?"
