Electricity could often be hard to come by in the Digital World - which was why Rinji found himself, along with a myriad of other Jungle Troopers and electric digimon, at Network Plains. Most of them were rookie level, peppered by a few champion and armour digimon. The digimon that had come to recruit them stood at the front, and laid out the basic instructions. "Today, as I'm sure you all know, we've recruited you to help us set-up the electricity here at our mining outpost. Our drills and lighting all work using electricity, after all." The Yanmamon took a breath, before continuing, "we'll be sending teams of you to each outpost to charge up the drills and power cells, and if you're unlucky, down into the mines. "
"Down into the mines?" Echoed the Tentomon stood next to Rinji; he had been the digimon that sat next to him on the Trailmon. He was friendly, if not a little nervous about the job. Although Rinji couldn't complain either, he was a little unsure as well, having been practically bullied by the recruiting digimon that had been sent to gather them. But it was for a good cause, and being paid for it wouldn't hurt.
"Alright! Any questions? No? Then let's get to it!" Yanmamon flew over to the crowd, and started individually hushing them into teams. Rinji found himself herded into a team of four digimon: the Tentomon he had met earlier, a Raidramon, a Kunemon, and of course himself. The digimon all stood in their respective groups, as Yanmamon gave them directions to where they needed to be. In all truths, it was quite unorganised.
"And you lot will be down in the mines! You'll have to head over to camp B, with that lot," Yanmamon gestured to another group, "and go down into the mine there. You'll eventually reach a fork, turn left and you'll find an underground outpost, which is where you're needed. Any questions?"
"Yeah, when the heck do we get paid for this?" Bristled Raidramon, impatiently. He didn't seem too happy to be here.
"You'll get paid at the outpost once you've done the job. Anything else?" Yanmamon seemed a little annoyed at Raidramon, but looked to Rinji, Tentomon and Kunemon in case they had any questions. Sensing their silence, the Yanmamon then hurried off to brief another rag-tag team of digimon.
It wasn't long before the lot found themselves entering the mine-shaft in question. It turned out Kunemon had an excellent memory, and Raidramon wasn't a bad leader. With those two at the forefront of the team, Rinji found himself walking alongside Tentomon at the back. The Tentomon conversed with him casually, chatting with him about all sorts of things. He didn't seem to mind the conversation's one-sidedness as Rinji listened intently, sometimes adding in a comment or question now and then.
The team followed the tunnel, and it widened into a large cavern, lit by torches and scattered with tents. Drilling equipment lay dormant by the tents, and a Dorulumon greeted them. "Good to see the team we asked for got here! We've been desperately lacking power. Would you mind coming with me?" Despite his question, it was mostly out of politeness, the team would have to follow him anyway.
He took the team to a power box, wires poured out of it into all directions, into the tents and up to the drills.
Without a word, Raidramon bristled with sparks, and they arced onto the antennae. The hand of the dial wavered up to 4 Kilo-volts. Woah! He must be powerful, thought Rinji.
It was their turn now, Kunemon used his Electric Threads, and Tentomon used his Super Shocker. The dial moved a little, further notching it up to 4.5 Kilo-volts.
Looked like it was his turn now, "Singeing Shock!" Shouted Rinji, making sure to keep his tail in contact with the antennae so the current could flow. The dial didn't move as much as it did with Raidramon, but nonetheless, Dorulumon congratulated them.
"Would you like the honour of turning on the power, Scolomon?" Well, he wouldn't mind. Rinji went up to the power box and found the switch.

Brilliant white light flooded the cave, easily outshining the torches. Digimon peeked out from their tents, and murmured excitedly. They could finally start drilling!
"I'll go and get your payment. If any of you would like to stay and help us set up some more tents, we'd also happily extend it to a weekly salary, but you'll have to talk to Starmon."
Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to stay and help out some more. Having a temporary job wouldn't hurt. Now, where was Starmon?
