This was... hard to explain, at least to Mana. For a Digimon, an animal was maybe a foreign concept? She wasn't all that sure about it. "Well..." How she'd go about this? Kinda difficult. "In the Human World, living beings that aren't human can't talk and aren't really sentient. They... kinda follow their basic instincts? You know, like sleeping and eating! I think some Digimon are that way too; maybe you've seen some of them?" Those were the so-called ferals, right? Digimons that pretty much behaved like animals; a bit of a cruel fate when the other possibility was pretty much a world of difference. Least to say, Ayaka was a bit confused at the moment. "Final boss?" She looked puzzled at the term employed by Rina. "I thank you for your trust, however. I will make sure to try and protect this world as much as I can. I owe it at least that much." The fairy herself wasn't sure on who'd be those "others", but she was sure that those would rise to the occasion; this world had the strange ability to call forth some of the bravest souls she had known to protect it. If things were still like that, there wasn't much to fear.
By that time, they were more or less reaching the city's gate. It was just a matter of time before they entered. Before they could do it, the faeries had been surprised by a sudden question, coming straight from Rin. "Bits?" Ayaka parroted before adding right away. "Yes, of course. There is a multitude of stores in the city, all of them selling a variety of wares you might be interested in. Are you interested in acquiring something at the moment, Miss Katrina? Because we could lead you there. We have time to spare."

Were creatures in the human world really as Mana described? Lammon was a little taken aback to hear that it wasn't just restricted to a group of sheep. All non-human beings? No wonder it was coined as the 'human' world.
"Sounds pathetically primitive of 'em...." But there was a part of that which she could understand. "When the feral ones gather, it becomes survival of the fittest. ...I hate that...! ...I'm not really all that strong - or that fast..., and I don't wanna become anyone's meal...! .... I joined my teacher Mistymon's school so I could learn how to defend myself against them."
She glanced at her 'hand,' imagining that she was holding her magic orb. "but will it be enough...? I've gotten stronger... - and I know I'm not there yet - but..., will it be...?"
---------------
In all honesty, Katrina did want to get some basic things, like clothing and grooming supplies, but she wasn't even sure if this digital world sold things like that. ...Maybe they might sell shirts themed around this world, but she couldn't see them going beyond that if this place could be considered similar to a video game. She would look around while they're here, but she'd save the true window-shopping for when she and Lammon were on their own time.
Rina shook her head at the question. "N-nn," not really having anything particular in mind at the moment. "I don't really have anything that I want, per se ---well, outside of what we came here for; I just wanted to see how you spend the Bits - like, the action of spending Bits, I mean."
She hoped what she was saying made enough sense for Ayaka to follow. Even still, Rina tried to reiterate.
"Like, ...You digimon don't have pockets or wallets or anything, so where do the Bits come from? Where do you keep 'em? How do you get to them, you know? I wanna watch when you pull 'em out...!"
"And that's the reason we're out here, today." Lammon chimed in.
"Yeah, so if we go and find some video games, here, I assume you have to pay with Bits for those, right? So when you all do," Katrina did a double mini fist pump as she eyed the fairy digimon with an excitable eagerness that bordered on obsession, "I'll be watching...!"

Maybe Mana had hit a nerve? Lammon didn't seem to be happy about being reminded feral digimons existed. Placing a gentle hand on her shoulder, the girl smiled at the sheep-like digimon. "Don't worry. There's a thing that ferals don't have and that we do, and that's the reason why there's more civilized digimon in this world. Maybe you aren't strong or fast, but that's right now; they will always be out there on their own." She remembered being afraid of the unknown way back, too. Being a novice when the world was so big and scary felt... overwhelming at times. "I'm sure you'll eventually become a magnificent digimon, but until then, if you ever need something, you know you have friends. As long as you can rely on each other, there's no nothing to be afraid of, you know? If you never need it, we'll have your back!"
In the end, friends had been what had made most of their adventures possible. Beings not able to go through that were more deserving of pity than of fear, in her opinion. How to spend bits! Well, that was a pretty legitimate question! Ayaka gaze briefly focused on Rina's digivice before she began to speak. "Bits gather up in your digivice, Miss Katrina. You should be able to check them in one of the menus, but I am not sure which." She had never operated those, after all. "In order to buy wares or services, you simply swipe your digivice, just as if it were what humans call a credit card. It is pretty simple; but if you are still doubtful, I am sure that Miss Mana will show you soon enough." While she couldn't understand Rina's excitement over the something as trivial as spending money, Ayaka smiled at her gestures.
Entering Terminus was a simple affair; as always, the city was bustling and pretty crowded, but navigating through it was a somewhat simple affair, as long as you didn't become lost. Mana began to eye the nearby buildings, finally pointing at one with an excited smile on her face."We're going there! The last to arrive is a rotten egg!"

"H'oooh?" Rina glanced at her wrist digivice, curious about how Bits would end up there.
"...---! Hm. Wait-wait.... Sooo, what about the digimon that don't have partners? They can't hold on to the Bits, themselves, then? ...Does that mean they can't buy anything?" An arched brow surfaced with almost a look of concern. T'was an interesting thought to the blue-eyed girl as she wondered how digimon would 'get by' without any money. Could they really not carry their own Bits, or was she misunderstanding the scope of what Aya was saying?
----------
After the conversation, Mana called out and pointed towards one of the buildings in the area before she began to run. Lammon's eyes widened before she gave chase, not wanting to fall behind because of her much shorter strides compared to the humans. She had to take miniature leaps as she ran in order to even remotely keep up.
Rina had no idea why they were running, but she didn't want to be left behind, so she simply jogged after them. Rina was the last to arrive at the scene. When she did, she gazed at the building, along with Lammon, with her mouth agape in awe. "Whoooa...!"

Rina brought a... valid point to the conversation, Ayaka had to say. Regrettably, however... "As far as I know, digimons without human partners store their bits in the core of their beings, or something along those lines is what I have been told. Regarding how they pay with them, however... being frank, I have never witnessed the process myself. Maybe someday, either you or I will see them shopping and paying for what they have bought and the mystery will be resolved, but until then..." The doubt will remain. In all honesty, the topic wasn't something that made Ayaka super interested; she knew that all digimons had access to bits, and that could use them to buy anything they might need. How they actually did that was pretty much an afterthought. Of course, the place that Mana had pointed at was an... ice-cream shop, of course. "We're here! Like I said, promises are promises, so let's have some ice-cream before doing what you wanna do! I'll buy it, so... which flavors do you want? I think this place has pretty much everything, so don't be afraid to ask for anything exotic!"
Not to say that the line to get some was somewhat long, even if the girl was sure she'd be by the end of it in five minutes or so.

"Aaaw.... ...Oh well." Rina shrugged with a sigh. "Guess we'll just have to wait an' find out on our own time, then."
--------------
"There's really an ice cream place here...! ...That's totally cool...!" Rina's smile stretched from ear to ear as she took a look at the line-up and the shop, itself. Above and to the back was a large visual menu of sorts, showing most of the many flavors that they had in stock. The text was unreadable for Rina, however. But based on the layout, she assumed that the text was just the different names for each kind of ice cream. "They've got a pretty big selection...!" and hearing Mana say they can pick whatever they wanted, Rina continued to peruse that board.
Lammon's gaze was fixed on that menu, as well, focusing on the images of the filled ice cream cones and bowls, interested with the varying color schemes of the ice cream. Even she understood that the different colors represented different flavors. The texture they seemed to have gave proof that these were not the impossible 'cream from ice' and are, in fact, some unknown kind of dessert as Mana alluded to. This led Lammon to wonder why it was called 'ice cream' to begin with, but she'd wait to get a 'hands-on' look at it before asking.
Vanilla was there; chocolate was there; strawberry, too. All the basics were there, even Neapolitan. There were also some non-basic favorites as well that Rina recognized, like cookies-n-creme, mint chocolate chip, rocky road, and butterscotch ripple. ...But there were also some weird ones that caught the redhead's eye.
Though she couldn't read the names of them, 'Meatchew,' at a glance, looked like chocolate ice cream with red meat chunks in it, topped with some kind of sauce or syrup; 'Grassy Medley' was a deep green color, sprinkled with various seeds and small nuts; 'Fishnet' was of an ocean blue color with a fish head and fish tail sticking out from two different ends. One would think a small, whole fish was in it; 'Darkness' ice cream was a very dark, smoky gray with dark-chocolate chunks, cherries, and thin dark chocolate bat wing accessories.
"...They've got some new flavors, too...;;;" Katrina grinned awkwardly as she wondered how those would taste. She eventually glanced at Lammon who was still looking at the pictures, trying to decide which one she should try first.
"Hmmm...." "...? .... Do you see anything y'think y'might like, Lammon?"
With that said, Lammon realized she didn't have to think too hard about her choice. And ultimately, she did in fact go with the one she figured she would like most - rather than something obscure to her, just to see if she would like it regardless. Lammon turned to the taller redhead and said, ".... ...I~... wanna try the 'Grassy Medley' one," 'pointing' to the banner menu while they waited in line. Rina's eyes followed the line of sight of Lammon's hand to the menu. Seeing it almost line up with the green seedy ice cream, Rina made her assumptions from there. "Grassy Medley, huh?" Lammon nodded. "I guess that would make sense," Rina figured with a smile.
The side-ponytailed girl then turned to "Mana?" and waved her hand to get her attention since the duo was taking a while to decide on their choices. Rina then said, "Grassy Medley," pointing to Lammon, and "uuuh... Mint Chocolate Chip?" pointing to herself. She wasn't sure if ice cream flavors were called out the same in Japanese as they are in English, but she said them in English, anyway, not knowing the Japanese words for them.
Picking up on what Rina was doing - and wanting to get the ice cream ASAP - Lammon did the translating, this time. "I'd like the 'Grassy Medley,' please! And Rina wants a 'Mint Chocolate Chip!'"

I'm SUPER sorry for the delay, really >.< As Mana thought about her own potential options on the ice cream flavors she would want, a small smile crossed her face; seemingly, both Rina and Lammon were pretty excited about this small endeavor. The line advanced steadily; giving just enough time to the group to deliberate about, even if Suzuran seemed to... be a bit out of it. "Why is everyone so eager about this? I do not understand"
Maybe this was her first time in the face of such interactions, but Ayaka couldn't but to looked at her, an amused expression already showing on her features. "I would ask if you had tasted ice cream before, but it is obvious that you have not, so... I will just tell you to wait and see."
It took them some time to decide, but that was totally fine! Mana herself didn't know what she'd have, and Ayaka and Suzuran seemed to be muttering to themselves, so... all bets were off.
Soon enough, Katrina tried to convey which flavors they wanted, Lammon putting some emphasis on it. It was fair, given that both seemed to be pretty excited. "Grassy medley and mint chocolate chip? Got it!" The whole process was surprisingly smooth; at least as soon as Suzuran made their mind on whether she wanted to try ice cream or not. In the end, she had on having "what my sister would"; buy the ice cream, get back and give everyone what they had asked for. Suzuran and Ayaka had green tea, whilst Mana had... white chocolate.
"There you go! Now... what do we do? Guess you still want to buy those things you were looking for, right?"

((No probz, no probz. ^_^))
"Thankyou'p." Katrina took hold of her ice cream cone as Mana brought up what could be done next. After translation, "Mnnngh.... Yeah, but first, I've gotta earn some more Bits." Carefully holding her ice cream with her left hand, she slightly rotated her wrist so she could access her digivice while her words were being translated to Mana.
Meanwhile, upon receiving her ice cream cone, Lammon picked up the mound of green ice cream within it and found that it was indeed cold, but not quite ice as the name implied. It was even a bit sticky, and it was slowly starting to melt in her hand. She discreetly glanced at Katrina, seeing her pulling up the Bits menu that she had glanced at while they were waiting in line. Rina paused for a second... then took hold of her cone with her right hand so she could outstretch her equipped arm to show Mana her Bits total.
1006 Bits
"It said 1005 Bits a moment ago, so I'm guessing that I gain Bits over time or something...? But if it's already that high and I've barely had this for... - what..., around five days, maybe...? ---I can guess that 900 isn't worth a whole lot." She licked up her ice cream with her tongue. "---! Mm! It's good! I was almost worried I wouldn't be able to actually taste it...!" Rina then continued along her original train of thought. "---But yeah, if these bits aren't worth much, that means I've gotta earn some, myself, if I wanna buy what I need around here. You wouldn't happen to know of any places I can make a quick Bit, would you?"
Seeing how ice cream was to be had, Lammon then returned the Grass Medley in her hand to the cone. Looking at her hand, covered in melted ice cream and a few small seeds and nuts..., ".... ...," she quietly licked the liquid up, tasting it while also trying to clean up. "...! ...It does kind of taste like grass...! Not bad...!" The sheep digimon licked her hand 'clean,' though it remained a bit sticky. She then proceeded to lick the orb of ice cream, joining everyone - who wasn't talking - in their pleasure.

If Mana would've thought about the possible scenarios on how this day would play on, having ice cream with a new acquaintance definitely wasn't among them, but that was fine; it was a pleasant surprise!
Rina herself seemed to be a really interesting person, she had to admit. A little quirky, and a little over expressive, but who was she to judge about that. Not to say that she had raised a valid concern. Given her status as somebody relatively new to the Digital World, gaining bits was probably something she wanted to do. As she was shown the amount of bits her new friend hand, she found herself pondering how much 1000 bits were worth. Not much, as she had just said.
"Well..." She tried to gather her thoughts about it. How to begin? "Yep, bits gather by themselves over time; sometimes they're called excess data, and that's probably the reason why they're used as currency. And... while that amount is probably more than enough to pay for most everyday stuff, if you wanna buy anything fancy, yeah. It's not that much."
How to get more of them, though? Well, there were lots of ways, actually! After adopting a pensive gesture for a couple of seconds, Mana began to talk again. "You can paticipate in any of the jobs that are offered across the different areas, or also participate in private endeavors; those usually aren't that simple, but the reward's way juicier! People in the need of a hand aren't scarce in this land, and they're usually pretty generous at paying for the services received. You should totally check them out if you want to earn some digital money." Meanwhile, both Ayaka and Suzuran looked at how Lammon interacted with her own... ice-cream. Well, given that she hadn't eaten it ever before, some shenanigans were to be expected, and she seemed to be a fast learner, so that was good. Deciding to break the small moments of silence that had ensued, the gentler fairy spoke.
"I remember Miss Katrina saying that you two were in Terminus once before. What did you do on your last visit?"

Jobs and private endeavors: the notion made sense to the tall redhead as she seriously considered them. "Hmmm. Well I have been meaning to find one; this could work.... ...I wonder what kind of jobs they have here," mumbling aloud to herself in thought. As long as they weren't monster quests where they had to kill a beast, Rina figured she might be able to manage them. Then there's the pay, but she's worry about that later.
Not too long after, Ayaka brought the girl's attention to her previous visit here in Terminus, curious as to what Rina and Lammon did on that occasion. Lammon, after licking the ice cream, had decided to take a bite out of it, as that would be a faster method of consumption, would it not? .... The sheer cold struck her painfully.... Meanwhile, still holding the cone in her hand as it slowly began to melt, Rina looked to the sky to help her remember the details that were asked of her.
"Mmm.... Well, we were here to find a friend of Lammon's teacher Mistymon. His name was Wisemon. Wasn't easy to find 'im, though 'cause he was living in some pocket dimension or something. But the point of it was that he'd help me find out how to get home the first time I came here. Took a few days, but I got this digivice 'cause of that, too," she explained, rotating her equipped wrist.

A pensive expression crossed the girl's face for a moment. What jobs did this place offer? Considering that they just came from the plains, the answer was a little obvious! "Well... most of the jobs in here involve the restoration efforts of the plains? I'm sure that payment for giving them a hand is quite good!" And it was also a pretty safe line of work; not much risk involved and definitely simple enough for a human to partake in it. Not to say it could be a lot of fun, too!
Thinking what the pair had done on their last visit here, Ayaka couldn't but think that they were just passing by, and had no real opportunity to explore the city. Oh well, at least she had gotten her digivice. "Wonder how will end up being your digimon partner. And hope we will find them soon. I can safely say that this world is way brighter when explored in groups."
After a soundly hmph on Suzuran's stead and a small snicker from Mana's part, a question that maybe was repeated too many times ensued... yet again. "So... what do you wanna do next? We have a whole city to explore!" If you don't mind, I'd like for this thread to be wrapped up soon. I'm traveling in like two weeks and I don't wanna leave your character frozen until I come back.

((Sure thing.))
Mana brought up work that involved fixing up the plains. Those appeared to be most of the jobs available. Recalling it, Rina replied, "Oh, what they were doing back... ---out there." thumbing away, assumedly in the direction where the other humans were gathered outside the city. "Okay," with a thought-filled nod or three. "Well, I hope so. So where would I go to ask about all those jobs?"
----------------
Responding to Aya's hope that Katrina finds her partner soon, the redhead said, "Yeah, and way safer, too." A memory of attempting to travel from Rustport to Terminus by foot, alone, surfaced. "I wonder if I get to choose...," referring to a partner digimon. "I mean...," eyeing the sheep digimon, "Lammon's pretty much been with me all this time. Since we're friends, it'd be nice if we could be partners, too." Lammon didn't appear to have a problem with that as she spoke up, taking her mouth away from the ice cream, "Fine by me, I guess," and then returning to yummy business - eyes closed the entire time.
----------------
Anything else they wanted to see or do? Lapping up her ice cream, Rina spoke up quickly, remembering one of the other things they came here for. "! Oh right!" covering her mouth for a second as she moved a chunk of chocolate in her mouth to the side with her tongue. "We've gotta find out where they have those video games you mentioned...!"
Lammon simply nodded, having never forgotten, but decided not to speak up unless everyone else had somehow forgotten it.

Sorry for the delay. Rina seemed to have gotten quite interested in the working; that was pretty good! Hardworking people were definitely among the things this world couldn't get enough of. Thinking on where to get the jobs, Mana would find the answer to that question actually... taking her a fair bit of time. "I have no idea, actually! She responded, a bit too cheerily. "Maybe you'd do better on asking somebody who's working in there. That'll be for the best, I think."
For a second, she adopted a thoughtful expression just before adding. "Buuut, if they're like any of the other works, you'll probably find all the available information in the City Hall. The people over there's bound to know something about the operation, at the very least!" As both Lammon and Katrina agreed on being partners, Ayaka couldn't but stare at the warm moment between the two with a small on her face. She wasn't sure if partners worked like that, or if there was a digimon waiting for Rina somewhere else, but for now... it'd be good enough, she guessed.
Because, now... they had a lot of fun waiting for them, of course! Making a gesture for them to follow. She'd lead the group to the nearest arcade, which was... a fair distance away, in all honesty. By the time Mana arrived to the place, she was already panting, trying to get her breath back. "Welp, we're here! Feel free to try any of the machines; this round's on me!"

"City Hall, huh?" she casually glanced around. "Iiis that easy to find around here?"
-------------------
Amazed to see it, "An arcade~! I can't wait to try them out!" Rina threw her arms up at it in praise!
"Are-kei'd?" as Lammon gazed at the lights and structures.
"Yeah! It's a place with lots of games that everyone can play! ---But you usually have to pay to play."
".... I see," still gazing at the arcade, unable to make sense of using that word instead of calling the place a 'game zone' or something of the sort that's easy to understand.
"Hey, let's see if we can find one you'll like!"
Rina looked around for a bit, hoping to find a simple game that Lammon can get into with relative ease. Before too long, she found the retro and iconic red mouth of rage feasting in a maze, Mouthman!
"Lammon, how about trying this one. It's Mouthman!"
"...Mouthman...?"
"Yeah!" She then cupped her hands into puppet-mouths and opened and closed them as if speaking through them. "Mouth-mouth-mouth-mouth-mouth-mouth-mouth-mouth-mouth-mouth-mouth-mouth-mouth---."
".... .... ...."
"...---I-It's a game where you control Mouthman and have him eat all the food pellets on the screen to win. ...---Oh! But you have to do it while avoiding" Scary Mode gestures: "the ghooostly spirits of animals that were killed to make his fooood...!"
She then transitioned to show Lammon the side of the arcade's Mouthman machine which showcased each character. Prominently, and on top, was a giant red orb with massive lips, jagged teeth, tiny red arms and legs - though the arms were muscular - and yellow gloves and sneakers: Mouthman! Below him - and less prominently - were the four ghostly figures: Moosworthy, a cow with a monocle, Shucky, a duck with some killer shades, Malurky the crazed turkey, and Lambsalot with a ghost-spear attached to its head.
A little hesitant at first, Lammon decided to try the suggested game. Thankfully, there was a pull-out stool that the short sheep digimon could stand on to actually see the screen from up close. As time went by, Lammon became oddly addicted to the game despite loss after loss after loss. It got to the point where Rina could leave her alone with her digivice to pay for those subsequent rounds and she'd be okay.
In that time, Rina wanted to do something with Mana. And with Lammon not around them, Rina would be relying on Ayaka or Suzuran to translate the gist of what she was about to say. "Mana! I wanna play some games with you before we part ways - 'cause I know I musta held you up from whatever you were probably gonna do by now. ...I'll even let you pick them! ---And no need to go easy on me, either!" Katrina thumbed to herself. "I'm actually a pretty decent gamer, if I do say so, myself! So: whaddya say?"

I won't ever be able to apologize enough. I'm super sorry. I also apologize for the poopy quality of this post. Mana was quick to point at the building it question. Even if the height of the average building in Terminus was pretty high, the Town Hall could still be seen from where they currently were. "Pretty easy, as you see! It'll take you a good ten-minute walk, but I think getting lost on your way there is really hard."
Rina's excitement over visiting an arcade was contagious, for sure! Soon enough, Mana found herself smiling in tandem with her, even if Lammon seemed to be a little bit hesitant about it. Oh well, she'd find how fun they are soon enough!
The redhead's group went directly behind their friend's, even though Suzuran didn't seem to be all that excited. Well, as if anything could excite her, honestly. They looked at them as Rina explained to Lammon the nuances of Mouthman. At least until... the challenge was issued towards her! Mana grinned at it, almost predatorily. "You're on, Rina!" Ayaka's tone didn't do justice to the girl's attitude, but that wasn't an issue. "So, what do you want to play? I'm up for anything!"
If anything, this would be a lot of fun! Some time had passed since the last time Mana had played games.
