Searching the Big City [Maia/Invite]
|
Post by Marshal North on Apr 10, 2017 5:07:17 GMT
Night was falling over Terminus City as a sleek, orange motorcycle sped into town. Marshal North was on a mission to find his partner, and nothing was going to get in his way, not even the approaching late night hour.
Of course, he wasn't along in his search. Maia and her partner, Kuu had been kind enough to accompany him to the Digital World just for safety's sake. "I hope you don't mind that we're out searching so late," Marshal shouted back over the motorcycle engine's roar.

Watching the scenery pass by, Maia certainly didn't seem bothered by how late it was becoming. It wasn't like night time had ever really affected her sleep schedule, anyway. That was the perfect time to play video games, after all! It was probably a good thing that she had told her dad where she was going to be, though. Who knew how long they'd be searching for the firy rookie?
Speaking of rookies, Kuu had finally settled down into the front of Maia's jacket. With an occasional twitch, it seemed that the Kudamon had managed to fall asleep while on a motorcycle! At least he was comfortable.
"Oh, it's fine," Maia reassured, speaking over the rumble of the vehicle. "It's important that we find him." If it were Kuu that was gone, Maia would have hoped that someone would help her find him, after all. She definitely wouldn't let someone search for their partner alone! Even if it took more than a couple hours!

Marshal took a deep breath as they sped further into town. They had been slowly going south all day and had heard nothing of any Coronamon in the area. Apparently it had even been several months since Coronamon's last sighting at the inn. Marshal started to worry about the safety of his partner. What if he had gotten himself hurt while Marshal had been away?
"I'm not even sure where to start looking," Marshal admitted. After they had gotten in a familiar part of town, Marshal stopped the bike and returned it to his Digivice. "There's nothing saying he's even in Terminus. We could be searching here for days and never find him."
Marshal got a look around and noticed that this place was even more familiar than he thought. "Hey, that's the restaurant where we had breakfast on the day we met!" Marshal gasped, pointing over to a nearby storefront. "Man, that sure brings back memories."

At least Marshal's driving wasn't nearly as terrifying as Maia feared, all things considered. Hadn't he mentioned that he didn't really know how to drive one of these things? They hadn't died yet, so he must just be a natural! Or have some semblance of common sense.
Did common sense apply to not wrecking a motorcycle? Probably not.
With the bike returned to the digivice -- which was a very fancy feature, Maia had to admit -- the girl found herself just as lost as before as to where to even begin. With Kuu still mostly asleep in her arms, she began to glance around. "Did he have any place that he really liked?" Of course, she had been there the day that the duo met. There couldn't be that many secrets on Coronamon's favorite places in the Digital World, could there?
"What about places from before this life?" A groggy fox offered input, while trying to shove his nose up his tamer's sleeve. She was so warm! And Kuu was so... capable of fitting up a jacket sleeve! Or, at least, he was when he was awake. Still mostly in a dream? Not quite as successful.
Trying to think of some sort of encouragement, while juggling the rookie between her hands to stop him from falling during his attempts at a hiding place, Maia couldn't think of much more than, "well, we can't just give up."
But, with attention drawn to someplace else, the girl found it hard to think of further consolations. "It is," the blonde breathed, partially in wait for some sort of meltdown from Marshal. But, he was keeping it together pretty well! "Maybe, when we find Coronamon, we should all come back and eat there?" That sounded like a fantastic idea. After all, it didn't feel like Marshal and Maia had done much together, on the lighter side of things, in quite a while.
"Is it breakfast time? I like breakfast!" Oh no. The talk of food had properly awoken The Fox! With a little huff-sneeze from tickling his nose on his tamer's jacket, the Kudamon rapidly began climbing up her arm to sprawl across her shoulders. "What if Coronamon's in there? I mean, he's got great taste! And breakfast is great! I think we should eat!"
Maybe Maia liked it better when he was sleeping.

Marshal smiled. "We'll definitely come back for breakfast when this is all over," he confirmed. Coronamon had been wanting to go back to that place for a while. What better way to celebrate their reunion than to go eat at the place they had formed their relationship.
He led them down a few of the streets around the area. None of the local shopkeepers had seen Coronamon. Not even the Gaomon and Bearmon they had met at the dojo that first day had seen him. Marshal was starting to get worried. Maybe he wasn't even in Terminus City at all? Where else would he have gone?

"Yay! Breakfast!" Kuu seemed contented by this promise, after flailing his paws around and almost hitting his tamer in the face. At this point, Maia hardly seemed phased by the creature's rapid movements. It was weird how people could get used to things that used to be insanely overwhelming! Perfect example being a fox on a constant sugar high!
Following Marshal down the streets only felt discouraging. Had no one seriously seen Coronamon? How were they going to find him in such a large world?
It wasn't even Maia being the pessimist of the situation, as the Kudamon sniffed the air every few steps. He had a good nose! With any luck, even a hint of a trail would appear! Except, it wasn't. "I don't sniff him, here," the fox informed, ears flattening. His nose rarely lied! But, Terminus was a big city, full of a lot of smells. There was always a chance! "Are you sure he'd be here?"

Post by Colin, Luke & Bellamy on Apr 23, 2017 10:23:21 GMT
It was a couple of days after Colin, Luke and Bellamy had said goodbye to Coronamon in Whitewater. While they had meant to come to Terminus quickly, they had been diverted for a few trips. Well, when one had a mercenary airship digimon, they tended to be hired for deliveries. And as members of PROFIT, well, who were they to turn them down?
Aboard the AirVessemon mercenary, named Daedalus, they arrived in the Terminus city airship bay. As they prepared to land, Colin took out his D-Terminal, looking to see who was there.
By now, the three of them were kind of tired of adventures and were probably needed back on Earth before they were missed by Colin's parents. Even if he was having lots of fun in the digital world, a 13-year old couldn't stay here forever after all. He didn't want his family to worry. However, all that changed.
"Whoa!" Colin exclaimed. His Elecmon and Impmon partners looked up at this reaction. "Marshal's here! In Terminus!"
"Do you know where?" Luke asked eagerly as Daedalus landed in the airship bay, declaring that they were free to disembark now.
"Yeah, a couple of blocks away!" Colin said. "Come on!"
He almost flew out of Daedalus's cabin, down the stairs. He looked up at the airship digimon. "Hold up for a few minutes, Daedalus, we'll probably be right back".
With that, Colin ran down the street toward the familiar figure of Marshal. At his side was someone and their digimon partner that Colin had never seen before. But he had to speak out. If Marshal was here, that meant that he was probably looking for Coronamon.
"Marshal!" Colin called. He caught up with them, catching his breath for a moment. "Marshal, I think there's someone that wants to see you" he said. "He's in Whitewater. Coronamon, I mean".

Marshal was kind of starting to freak out. He got his motorcycle back out and hopped on. "Let's keep moving," he said nervously. "We'll find him. I know we will." The three of them shot through the streets for a while until three familiar face caught up with them. Marshal slammed on the brakes and jumped off immediately.
"Colin!" he shouted, running over and hugging the younger boy. Normally, Marshal wouldn't do something like that, but there was no one else he could've been more overjoyed to see in that moment. Well, except for Coronamon, of course.
Colin explained that he knew where Coronamon was and that he was waiting for him. Marshal almost cried he was so happy. "What are we doing here?" he asked. "Let's go!" He got back on the motorcycle and revved the engine after soon realizing that he and Maia had never met! "Oh! By the way, this is Maia and her partner, Kuu! They were around for my first day in the Digital World. Maia, this is Colin and his partners, Luke and Bellamy! Coronamon and that Impmon are kinda dating."

It was feeling pretty hopeless, at least as far as Terminus went. "He's out there, somewhere," Maia felt the need to reassure. There was no point in making Marshal worry any further than he already was, and it couldn't be a lie. Digimon came back, even if they died, right? So Coronamon had to be somewhere! It only made sense!
The next bike ride took far less time, as Marshal suddenly braked for... someone that Maia didn't recognize in the slightest. It certainly felt weird not knowing another tamer, for once. At one point, the girl swore that she knew everyone. Maybe she needed to get out and socialize more, again.
More importantly, they knew where Coronamon was. Due to the rush to find the fiery rookie, Maia didn't even think about introductions, until Marshal remembered. "Nice to meet you," she murmured, mulling over the concept of Digimon having relationships with one another. It only made sense, she supposed. They did seem to have human-like mentality. But, it was still a thought that had never crossed her mind.
Especially considering the creature that she called her partner. "I know stuff about dating!"
"No, you don't," his tamer insisted, in an attempt to stop the fox from babbling.
But, who would ever imagine that would happen? "Uh-huh! I was told about it once! And it's in lots of movies!" Then, there was a quizzical pause, while the fox looked over the Impmon. "Do you share spaghetti with him? You gotta. It's, like, the thing you do when you date! Did you know? Do you know? Well! You know now." Maybe letting the rookie take a nap had been a bad idea. Now he had energy! "Does that mean you're all gonna get breakfast with us after we get Coronamon? You're invited!" Kuu needed to stop thinking about breakfast. Or at all, for that matter.
Meanwhile, Maia tried to block out the Kudamon's talking. Sometimes, it was hard to remember that this level of energetic wasn't just a normal thing for other people to endure. "You wouldn't believe he's older than Coronamon, would you?" she tried to joke, mostly under her breath. What a difference in maturity.

Colin was fairly surprised when Marshal's reaction to meeting him was to hug him, but, he patted the older boy's back. If he had been without his partners and met a friend that might lead him back to them, he'd be pretty glad to see them too.
"Hold up..." Bellamy said, the Impmon gripping his knees as he panted for a moment. "Where did you get that motorcycle from and where can I get one?!" he asked Marshal.
"Bells, this isn't the time for this!" Luke told his brother, but admitted that motorcycle looked pretty awesome. The three paid attention as Marshal introduced them to Maia and Kuu.
"Heya" Colin said to them, giving a wave. Heh, Kuu looked pretty cute. So Marshal had been friends with them since they first arrived in the digital world? That was pretty awesome. Colin and his partners thus trusted them pretty quickly.
Bellamy snorted at Marshal's introduction of them. "Heh, 'kinda'" the Impmon scoffed. As far as he was concerned, they were dating pretty fragging hard. Kuu seemed excitable about this concept though and began to ask eagerly about it.
"Well I dunno about sharing spaghetti but he sure spills a lot of it around him" Luke drawled. Bellamy elbowed him in the ribs in a 'This isn't the time for loquatious wit' way.
"Heh, I guess we'd be up for breakfast then" Colin said, smiling. "Anyway, we should head to the airship bays. My mercenary Daedalus is there and he should take us to Whitewater".
Bellamy was about to respond to Maia that yeah, Coronamon was pretty young and inexperienced in a lot of ways, but was prevented from saying this when Colin excitedly began to drag them back toward the airship bays. Presumably their trip from there would be to Whitewater.

Marshal was suddenly more fired up than ever before. He was ready to see Coronamon again, or so he thought. He stored his motorcycle back into his Digivice and ran after Colin. "Let's go!" he said excitedly, running briskly past everyone else. "Next stop, Whitewater!" This was a display of energy from Marshal that most people would never have seen before, and maybe would never see again. Before long, he'd be able to see his partner again.
