There was that giggle again and he ran a hand nervously through his hair; was she laughing at what he had said or perhaps just a way that he had been acting? Or maybe a mix of the two? It didn't have an air of malcontent at all so it certainly threw him off guard. Though once he was given a smile of course; he returned it feeling as though there wasn't much else he could do at that point without that.
"No problem, Happens sometimes."
He'd exhale just a little bit; the atmosphere had calmed down that was for sure. He was expecting there to be some of that whimsical reminiscing that you would get from the older digimon. But she seemed to take it in stride. Her statement about it being bizarre and wishing to forget something as well made him pause considerably. One hand came up; rubbing from his chin over his face and through his hair in one rather nervous go. There was a mountain of memories he wish he could forget; but there were mountains more than he wished he could keep.
The thing that caught him the most off guard was her look that she gave him when he was telling his stories. The pure interest that he could feel and... well there was just the strangeness of sharing things he never had about his young self with another. The little bits and pieces of a puzzle that you never really sure what to do with them.
"It was quite trying, but it certainly taught me the value of control."
He'd give her a small smile, she seemed to be pleased with the sharing of another story. He could see that she was certainly enjoying the exchange. Finding himself draining through the food faster than he was expecting during their entire conversation. He looked down at his plate noting that his shish was eaten already as well as the fries. He hadn't even recalled eating them honestly. Nor the use of the bbq sauce. But he could certainly tell that he had.
"Well... I'd imagine there's more to the both of us that could certainly be the center of a conversation for more than just one dinner. I doubt you told me absolutely everything, that'd spoil the fun wouldn't it?"
He'd of course consider something briefly. That story was a painful one. One that he never had wanted to share with others. Not even in the least bit. It would be an absolute horror to some; to others he would likely find an enemy in. What would she think of it? That warm smile mixed with that yawn made kan hesitate ever so slightly. But he certainly agreed with her statement of how the dinner was nice.
"That was a nice dinner indeed. Something I wouldn't mind doing again."

Nodding approvingly, she put that napkin into one of the pouches of her belt just in case she would need it again. She hated wasting things, and often found additional utilizations in items. For example, Cion often used the same cutlery a day for different purposes, at least when she was on her own. It was probably not the most hygenic of quirks, but she had not gotten sick from the thus far, so why waste precious water and dish liquid?
Putting those out of place thoughts aside, she made notice of the many reactions of Kan that were in response to her gesture and facial expressions. He too probably wished to forget a lot of things and live independent of them, yet still treasured parts of who he was. It was a worthwhile sacrifice, even if it had a tendency to hurt. But they were tough people with strong wills, so whatever past haunted them they would manage, especially now that they were together. And he seemed fascinated by the fact that Cion was actually interested in him, as if nobody ever cared to listen. In light of everything... perhaps that had even been the case.
Chuckling once, she nodded yet again, not finding it hard to believe that two months of perpetual invisibility was a good teacher for self-control. Still, he had a fair point, and leaning back ever so slightly without falling off the bench, the Arnamon gave the man a somewhat impish, teasing smile. "Well there is still one full life and this one left, eh? Maybe for another dinner; at least I'd like to. After all, I'm sure there is more to you as well." She replied with a playful tone of haughtiness, almost as if she was daring him. It perhaps was an odd way to make her interest clear, but it should be clear as day.
"Splendid, me neither! But now..." She stated happily before gracefully leaping off the bench and clapping into her hands. "Hop-hop. I've got to make the day of my nephew. And you will help me with that." Cion asserted with an expression of utmost confidence. With her fists pressing against each other, she showed that she was ready to show them all how to properly swing a hammer. Well, or at least assist Kan doing it an winning a big, fluffy teddy for Logan.

He noted that she put the napkin away for later; likely if something else happened. Was she someone that liked making the most out of items? Wiping tears from a napkin could be considered a waste if you were just to throw it away. Was it a force of habit or was she just being immediately thoughtful? Shaking his head just a little bit; he was really over thinking that.
Rubbing the back of his neck he'd return her smile with a slightly more tame one. She wasn't wrong in the least bit; in fact with that playful tone he felt as though she actually wanted to hear more. It was strange having someone have any form of interest in his past; most people didn't seem to care where you were coming from. Only where you were going and how you could be of use. After all he was somewhat like that but; could he really say that he had been thinking how useful Cion would be as an ally? Past the little points in the conversations they've had no.
"I'd say that if your past is any hint, this life must of been something exciting too."
Then there was that brief pause as he contemplated that guess; that playful tone making it easier to agree with her.
"Oh absolutely. I didn't share everything, that'd take more than just one or two dinners."
He'd chuckle and give her a wry grin; there was honestly a lot more that he could share. Even past the bad stories there were still plenty of events he could share that he had been a part of after all. What would she think of all the forays into the digital world? The interactions with it's denizens that hadn't been violent? The forays into dangerous locations, for dangerous reasons?
He felt a little warmth knowing that they wouldn't mind doing it again; he'd stand up after a few moments after she had leaped off the bench. His eyebrows raising ever so slightly. He'd chuckle and give her a nod; they had come here to get a teddy after all hadn't they? Or at least try. The hammer games were likely waiting for them. He'd shoot her a smile; his eyes looking around for a few moments before focusing on his companion. His hands sliding into his pockets; it was just a natural state for him to be honest. It was a natural instinct to protect both his digivice and wallet regardless of location or company.
"Of course, I did agree didn't I? Does he have a favorite color that might enhance the bear for him?"

"True." Was her short yet precise resposne to his statement. Indeed her lives had been very exciting, but that was a story for another dinner. Even if she only remembered the main parts of them, not the details, it would still take some time, and there was no reason to rush. She'd rather enjoy more days with Kan than to get everything done within a day. That would neither help him nor her, and it clearly would not be as much fun.
With the knowledge that both of them still had many stories to share, she nodded but stayed quiet, feeling like this was a good point for a cut of this part of their evening. Now, with both of them standing, having finished their meals, they could focus on more imporant matters at hand. These of course were having a fun night and winning little Logan a big teddy. Speaking of which, Kan asked a question about it to which she could only shake her head without much of an emotional reaction. "Nah, don't think so. Let's keep it traditional, yes?" She stated, now wanting the bear to be something too unusual... or blue.
With that in mind, she motioned Kan to follow her and took the first steps away from the food booths and towards more busy streets of fun and laughter. As she moved slowly, looking around for a perfect attraction, more stars began dotting the dark autumn night sky. A cool breeze started to whiz around the Arnamon, making her silver fur and short green scarf wave like water breaking at the shore. It was not a painful cold, but a pleasantly mild one for her. Then again, she had a very fine, cozy pelt, so the cold was hardly a bane to her.
"Found anything yet?" She would eventually ask Kan, often too distracted by the many flashing, colorful lights that mesmerized customers like the moon a moth. It was a wonderful place indeed, and they could all the time in the world to savor it this night. Again, she wondered if he had something in mind he wanted to do.

Compared to his companion here, Kan hadn't lived as much as they. They had several more lives and he did not; if anything he could feel a tinge of envy but. He knew that he was getting the best part of being a human here. The closest that they could ever be to feeling that tier of power coursing through their veins. That is why the first deal was struck, that baser desire of power. Thanks to his very late partner sebastian. But here, in this place. Power didn't mean anything; pride didn't mean anything. Hunger was something you could take care of, greed was something that was there but could be fed little bits.
For once. He didn't need anything to go his way, he could be here and enjoy this. He could simply exist in this space with another and be content with the things that transpire. In fact he could even do more than that; he could help another get something they desired for another. He'd break his lip swith an unusual smile; warmth rarely reached into many a persons eyes. But here. With all the things that had burned in within this evening; all the differences in the norm. All those little things kept adding up; he wasn't even aware of that smile but he spoke none the less.
"Traditional sounds good. I've got one of those in storage somewhere too, so... if we don't win here I'd well. Be willing to part with it."
He hadn't used it in years, it sat un attended and in desperate need of attention. Finding himself wandering around, checking game after game. His eyes flicking from the games to his digimon companion here. She seemed to get distracted by all the happenings around her; he couldn't blame her thought. It was taking alot to stay focused; mixed from the company and the location for certain. The search was a long process and he would break it once the digimon asked him if he had found anything. He'd gesture over to a hammer game that was attended by an agumon. The rules were posted next to it and the prizes were displayed behind the game in a very orderly fashion. One of which being an over sized teddy bear that kan would likely have trouble carrying.
"That could work. Allows for up to two people to try at once, Just double the the cost for a try though. Pretty easy rules honestly, ring the bell win a prize.
He'd rub the back of his neck after a few moments; realizing that he really didn't know what to do in this location past the little bits and pieces. Her pure suggestion; mixed with the suggestions she had given earlier made him realize he needed to contribute in some manner; even if it was merely a suggestion or question.
"I don't suppose they have a ferris wheel here? maybe after we win the bear we could find one? If not maybe we could find a small relaxing ride."

"Aaw... see? A gentleman." Cion responded with a winning grin when Kan offered her one of his teddy's he got in his store in case they would not win one her at the fun fair. This was of course a sweet offer, one she would not decline since Kan was so forthcoming, but neither would she hold back now. Her fingers were still twitchy from the anticipation of winning a price, and the certainty the man offered did not interfere with that. "But, let's first see if we can win one."
And seeing a potential victim of their raid they did, as Kan pointed at an Agumon with a hammer game. His little 'booth' seemed orderly, so perhaps it was a kind digimon that would allow them to work together. Whatever would ultimately be the case, the fact that one of its prizes was a teddy almost the size of herself made it a primary target. Approaching it, Kan read the rules out loud, and indeed it seemed that the two of them could work together to get the 'wedge' to the top where the bell was. Naturally, it was probably that much more difficult to get it up there.
Before they started however, the man addressed her about a different subject, which was something he wanted to do. He had many things in mind, and the way he requested to go pay them a visit so shyly had something adorable to it. With a warm smile and energetic tone to her voice, she answered. "Of course. I believe the ferris wheel is close to the big roller coaster... though I can't see it from here. As for smaller rides... I suppose there's a relaxing animal ride somewhere. Quite fascinating to see all of these human world entities. Heh... if we go there, ya could tell me 'bout them." Were all of her suggestions, from which Kan was free to choose what to pursue.
But, they still had a job they needed to take care of, which was of course winning a teddy bear. Shaking herself in excitement, the Arnamon skipped over to the Agumon and handed over 4 bits, which was the entrey fee for the both of them. "Thank you and good luck!" The Agumon wished them, of course deep inside not wanting to win them, Everybody naturaly knew that, but it was the gesture that mattered more than the impetus behind it.
Nodding, Cion approached the game and took the medium-sized, red hammer, inspecting it a little. No damage, hard synthetic material as one might expect, well-processed. At least this Agumon did not appear to be a scammer, not that she would miss a mere 4 bits. Looking over to Kan, she tossed the tammer to him, confident that he had much more physical strength in him than she got in her. "Alrighty, let's see if ya can do it on your own. If it doesn't quite work out, I'll help along, so no stress." Cion stated, hoping the man had no problems agreeing with these terms, nor the challenging smile she looked at him with.

The winning grin and once again the statement of him being a gentlemen caused Kan to cough and turn away. He didn't feel like it was something that made him gentlemanly; it was for a kid wasn't it? They needed the support more than anyone. If it came down to it; at the end of the day. Kan knew he'd put his faith in himself to take care of kids. The orphanage had taught him many a thing back in the day; one of them being that children needed stuff like that if they were to grow.
If they were to not be like him.
That was something he really wanted no child to go through, no other person to go through. His life had been hell from one point to another. Suffering was meant to test stronger individuals sure. But if he hadn't done many of the things that he had; he wouldn't be here. He knew from a basis that many kids would not be able to do most of the things he did.
"That sounds like a good plan."
He'd tilt his head just slightly; looking towards where he had seen the roller coaster earlier. He liked the idea of riding on a slow and rather meticulous machine like that. He'd turn his head a little bit and he'd grin at her from the last suggestion of him telling her about human world entities.
"Sure. It'll be nice and quiet too."
Most of the time kids didn't go on rides like those, at least in his experience. He'd raise his eyebrows at the wish of good luck, giving the agumon a soft nod. He knew that of course he wanted them to take as many tries in order to make it so that he got the most money out of it. Taking a few steps after cion; he'd eye the machine up and down. He could see it was designed to take a good beating. He'd catch the hammer with one hand, testing out the weight. He'd return her smile with a rather wolfish one. He certainly took up the challenge; he probably wouldn't mind if he lost or won in this case.
"Of course. Now lets see..."
He'd exhale slowly; grip the hammer tightly with two hands, and with an overhead swing slam the hammer down on the designated portion of the game. The little ball shot up towards the bell...

Though beginning to find repetition in her thoughts, she once again could not help herself but smile when Kan's gaze shifted away from her after the compliment. Was it really so hard for the sweetheart to accept that he had a shining, bright light within him? Whatever it was deep inside of him that gave him difficulties accepting compliments, Cion was confident that by praising him whenever he did something good or said something nice, that they would break the veil of doubt enshrouding his spirit.
Kan seemed to generally appreciate the suggestions she made about what to do after they had won the teddy bear. Everything the man wanted to do could be done, but it was still upon him to decide what they would do first. "Splendid. Just tell me what you feel like doing first. I'm open to everything." The Arnamon assured him that she would be happy with whatever choice Kan would make. Once again, she purposefully handed him over the 'leadership' of their small group, mostly so he did not feel patronized. After all, she wasn't some sort of soul-doctor; she was a friend who wanted to have fun with one of her friends. And one part of friendship was, for a lack of a better term, compliance.
And now it was cooperation they required, since a hammer game needed a fine beating. Considering how sturdy it looked and that the hammer was not the lightest among its kin, she doubted Kan would actually manage it on his own. Still, she approved of his confidence and desire to impress her, so far was it from her to interfere. Just in the case that he did not manage to swing the hammer hard enough, she would help along to finish the deed victoriously.
She watched him exhale slowly; grip the hammer tightly with two hands, and with an overhead swing slam it down on the designated portion of the game. The little ball shot up towards the bell, and it truly looked like it was going to hit the bell. It was in awe that Cion followed its movement, only coming to a halt about a quarter meter before it would hit the bell. Her eyes widening, just before it came to a full stop, she shouted "Translucent Cage!".
Her hands glowing as did the bell, everyone and everything could both feel and see a sudden pulse, like a brief vortex sucking the ball to the bell. It had not only been that, but also Cion's pelt, Kan's clothes and nearby textiles and plants that had waved heavily, also affected by the force. As a rookie, it was not powerful enough to rip anyone off their legs, but since she was still more powerful than a digimon incapable of further digivolution, anyone nearby could feel it.
As if struck a second time, the ball hit the bell, the audible ring clear as day to everyone. With the glows fading, Cion clapped swiftly and jumped up and down, pure glee gracing her muzzle. "Yay! We did it!" She shouted, turning to Kan and reaching out her hand to him for a chummy high-five.

Kan ran a hand through his hair, making idle assumptions that there was many a thing that they could do at this fair after this hammer game. Honestly he liked the idea of a slow ferris wheel ride. No real reason to go all crazy and what not was there? He'd give cion a small smile before nodding firmly. Honestly the room that the smaller digimon seemed to allow was surprising. Most people were quite firm it what they wanted to do; rigid even. Letting yet another smooth shrug roll off of his shoulders kan of course suggested his ideal choice.
"The ferris wheel then. It fits in nicely with how the evening has been going."
Looking up after the hammer had struck the machine; he watched the little ball go up feeling slightly nervous seeing that it was losing momentum near the top. He'd frown ever so slightly as it seemed to halt. He certainly wasn't expecting the move use from the smaller mon; looking from her to the agumon who just gave the human a shrug. It wasn't against the rules to do so after all.
At the gentle pull of his clothing and the things around him; kan's right hand found itself resting above the pocket that held the divice. It was a nervous habit to say the least but the moment that Cion turned about to offer an high five his hand found itself giving the smaller digimon one. Though it wasn't anything as some kids would do, there was a nice little "clap" of their hands. He'd of course gesture at the bear with the hammer before offering it back to the agumon. His smile was fairly even on his face, though it didn't seem to match the one on Cion's face.
"That we did. I suppose I should of put a little more omph in my swing."

"The ferris wheel it is!" The yelled happily, looking forward to a peaceful ride and of coures the view of Terminus entire shrouded in darkness and artificial light of many colors. It was a fine choice as a first ride Kan made, at least in her opinion, but far was it from the only ride they would take. Likely not a roller coaster, but of course the very slow animal ride. Perish the thought she would miss the chance of learning something from the human world through that and her friend's explanations.
But this had to wait after the hammer game, which they had just won on their first try due to splendid cooperation. There was not much of a reaction from Kan to anything, but he agreed to join her high five, which was just fine by her. The loud 'clap' was the delightful icing on top of their current cake of fun, and she relished it for the couple of seconds it echoed around them. "Nah, it was great! Thanks for the fine job." She showed his appreciation to the male human without hesitation, just before she rushed over to the big teddy that was almost her own size and took it.
Leaving behind an Agumon that was likely not enjoying the zero sum shtick they had imposed on them, she bounced through the streets like a slaphappy filly. Her excitement to present it to Logan was clear as day, and she would likely carry that through the rest of the night as well. "Let's hit up the lockers before we enjoy ourselves! Don't wanna carry this bad-bad with me all night." She requested for obvious reasons. While fluffy and adorable, it was still quite unhandy to carry around, even if Kan chose to take it for a while.
