"Oh my... I really hope they get here soon..."
A sigh filled the air, breaking the peace of this otherwise quiet morning. Despite the severity of the words in the mission postings in Terminus and Whitewater - a 'metal menace', hostages being taken, a dramatic cry for help hidden away in an unlikely place - well, the tone of the area just seemed too calm and serene. Just at the edge of the Server Woods, one could look up to see crystal-clear skies, emerald leaves floating in the lightest of breezes. Only the sounds of insects and the occasional bird managed to break through the air.
Despite this, though, Witchmon managed to keep quite a concerned look on her face. Sitting on her broom, she rested her hands on the handle, fingers tapping as she waited. Just across from this face of concerned impatience, though, was a Digimon who had much less invested in this, the promised 'field medic' for this mission, a Dracmon. He leaned back against a tree, arms crossed and palms closed, idly tapping his heel against the bark of the tree.
"Tch. Dragging me out for something like this... couldn't you have just gotten an angel or something?"
"Well, I said 'field medic', but considering our supposed roster..." The Witchmon shrugged. "We'd be wasting our resources on more of that. Let's just say we need someone of your 'unique' charm on this."
"Whatever." The rookie gave a shrug, before giving a glance at his left palm, the green eye giving a twitch. "And it looks like they're just coming around now."
"That so?" The Witchmon stepped off her broom, plucking it up in her hand, resting it on her shoulder. "Great, then get yourself ready!"
"Right, right..." He stood up, stretching out his arms in a yawn. He took a glance up, giving a nod towards that clear sky.
Good, good, just stay that way. Gonna be a lot trickier if the wind kicks up again!

This was the first time Cion would ever perform a task that was truly a danger to her life, even compared to last winter's blizzard. Usually, the silver, vulpine digimon was more comfortable with courier-jobs and alike from Terminus' black-board, but this time was different. Ever since recent events that involved a drastic change in her life, something inside her core had swayed that made her more reckless and fearless. Hence the possibility of fighting against an entire army of hostile digimon which sought to bring misery upon the world out of sheer avarice was not only a satisfaction for her karma, but also her zest for action.
And as a future member of P.R.O.F.I.T, she so or so had to get used to such dangerous activities, so why not a little test-run in which she had many allies to cover her back? Or to be more precise in which she had many allied backs she could cover, because that was what she was best at. If she and others were to fight an entire army, at least that was what Cion thought when she read about a siege and metal menace, then every single of her supportive abilities would be of immeasurable value.
But this was always why she did not appear as a Rookie Arnamon, but her unique Ultimate form, which was a CyberSagitamon. Moving through the edge of the forest was a proud and gracile digimon indeed, a fine young lady who carried herself with dignity and gallantry. With a gaze of both focus and sympathy, her golden eyes remained ever focused at her current destination at hand; the Witchmon. Naturally, she could have already tapped into powers even greater, but in light of recent events she was uncertain about what she would unleash. Losing everything she was... had changed her, and she first needed to comprehend before letting herself go.
Besides, as a CyberSagitamon, she was already sufficient in innumerable tasks, especially those that involved group combat. Although her attacks were still of unnoteworthy damage, she was still a force to be reckoned with that could easily turn a 3v3 into a 3v2, if not more. Perhaps, despite being the far opposite of a boastful digimon, she considered herself excellent for the dangerous mission at hand. And without a doubt the payment she would receive would give her, 'brother' Owen, his lover and nephew Logan enough leeway to get used to their new lives as family. It would be difficult... but she had chosen not to be alone, and was ready to contribute her part.
Clad in custom-fit power-armor, she eventually spotted the Witchmon she was supposed to meet, as well as the field medic that maybe was only a digimon of the rookie-level. She wondered how something so young could possibly be a sufficient medic, but the chance it could digivolve was high, which was why she did not question it. Besides, if assistance was required, she could help out easily.
Coming to a stop in front of the two of them, the put one of her paws on her metal chest and politely bowed to them. "Cion, at your service." She introduced herself, her ever so slightly synthetic voice resembling that of a typical anime heroine firm yet gentle as always. She was prepared and ready for the task at hand, but she too was looking forward to the assistance she would receive. Naturally, she would not be alone on this, now would she be?

There were times where she had to wonder what she was getting herself into. The poster certainly sounded like she would have to throw down with entire troops of enemy forces all at once, with only a few allies backing her up. And yet... could she really afford to say ‘no’? She didn’t even have to ask that of herself, really. She knew what her heart said, and lately she found herself more and more driven to righting what has gone wrong. “Sol...? Have you ever dealt with things like this?” she asked of the dragon Spirit.
”More then once...” he admitted quietly. ”Sometimes I truly was all by my lonesome too. Why?”
“I just wonder if this is normal... to only feel enough fear to acknowledge the threat of what I’m going up against. By all rights I should be running with my tail between my legs. Literally in my case with being a dragon and all...” Alicia commented in return, sighing. With another beat of mecurial wings, the Mercurialdramon soared onward. Alas, the place was a little too out of the way to have definitive coordinates to Digiport to, so she had to go the long way. Which was honestly better, as it gave her time to talk with her advisors.
”You and Sol are both kindred spirits, Alicia. Courageous enough to act when others would cower in terror and run from the danger. With a soul that burns bright and righteous, I’m not surprised that you find yourself moving before you think in this. Just try not to get yourself seriously wounded again.” Kisara giggled at that last line, smirking.
“Oh ha ha, very funny... I think we’re almost there. Before I descend though... One more question. Why is it that feel more and more powerful by the day, it seems?” It had been something that had crossed her mind, which seemed so strange at the moment. Alas, she’d rarely had a moment to consider it for more then a few seconds and voice her thoughts before now.
”... The only thing I could think of is that you’re synchronizing better with the totems. They were always very strong, but when you first use them, you’re ill prepared to draw out every last scrap of power they possess. Now that you’re acclimating to them more, you can dig deeper and muster greater reserves of strength.” Sol mused softly, tilting his head.
It was as good an explanation as any, Alicia supposed, so she shrugged and flipped over, diving down. Near the bottom, she rolled around, spreading her wings to break hard and touch down before what looked to be a witch, a little devil critter and an anthropomorphic... fox? Fox seemed close enough, but with Digimon you never know. Seeing as she wasn’t sure when the chaos would hit, she decided to remain evolved for now.
What she did do was compressed her figure down and color it into a replica of her human form, giving off a bit of a glow as she did to appear to have reverted to her normal self. If it caught their enemies off guard, it was very much worth it. If not, oh well. Waving, she introduced herself. “Alicia Westfield, pleased to make your acquaintance.”

Angemon could feel Mitsuko shift nervously as they flew towards Server Woods. His arms held her tightly as they glided effertlessly through the air. "What's wrong Suki-chan?" Angemon asked as he gradually slowed down, scanning the area for any sign of the group they were supposed to meet.
"Its nothing... really." Mitsuko's voice was soft, yet he could sense the uneasiness brewing within her. He gave her a gentle nudge, a sign that she knew he didn't believe her. "Okay, its just..." Mitsuko's voice trailed off as she wondered how she could convey her fears. "Every time we are here, someone gets hurt. We've narrowly escaped with our lives many times... When will our luck run out? And who else is going to get hurt because of us?" The silverette gave a sigh, as her partner started to fly once again.
"Do you think we all don't know the dangers of the Digital World? If we didn't stand up for what is right, innocent people and digimon would get hurt." Angemon said softly as he spotted a clearing up ahead. "We are stronger together, just remember no matter what I will protect you. You give me the strength to fight. Never lose faith."
Although her partner was normally goofy and a bit cheesy, it was nice to know that he knew how to say the right thing at the right time.
"Besides, if we fail, I'll just revert to an egg." Angemon said with a grin.
Yep, that all knowing sage advice lasted a whole thirty seconds. New record! Mitsuko just rolled her eyes and gave a playful exasperated sigh. "Hey, I think I see the group." Mitsuko said as Angemon started to descend towards the others. "Is that... Alicia?!" Mitsuko groaned internally. Yep, it was Alicia. It wasn't that she didn't like the girl, but it brought back her previous fears up front again.
As they landed Angemon reverted back to Patamon, before landing on top of the Spirit User's head. "Hey Metal Head, didn't know you and the dead crew would be here! Speaking of them, how's the wacko spirit party?" He said playfully as he nuzzled into her hair. Mitsuko rolled her eyes and returned her attention towards the others. A Witchmon and a Dracomon... and some type of cybernetic fox... thing? Mitsuko had the urge to grab her digivice and learn more about the others, but knew business came before curiosity. She flashed a brief smile at Alicia.
"Sorry we're late. I'm Mitsuko Kaioh, and this is my partner Patamon."

If nothing else, this group was straight to the point. The Dracmon's earlier comment was confirmed by Cion's appearance - though, perceptive as he was, he raised a brow under that mask. "My, that's quite a rare one... you sure she's a support type?" The imp muttered as the CyberSagitamon came into view, earning a clean 'knock' from the handle of the broom against his head. "Quiet, you," The Witchmon chuckled, "And at least try and be polite to our assistants, here."
"Yeah, yeah..." Rubbing his head, he straightened his composure, hands held loosely at his side. The Witchmon stepped forward, a smile and a nod given to the professional-looking ultimate. "Mhm, thank you for coming. We'll wait for introductions until we're all here, and-"
"Ah, speaking of." This time, the Dracmon looked to the sky, at the appearance of their supposed bruiser. That said, if a rare-looking-but-still-relatively-normal Digimon caught his eye, this beast spirit caught his eye with an absolutely liquid appearance was completely out of left field! Still, after the initial shock, he took a closer look. And with a smirk, he gave a quick two-fingered salute. Now, to Cion, Alicia, and even the Witchmon, this wouldn't make much sense at all, if they would even catch wind of it. But maybe it would even be more surprising to Kisara, to have someone so openly acknowledge her!
"Ah, same. Dracmon and I will be explaining things shortly. We're just waiting on one more... we happened to have a medic sign on."
And, just a minute or so later, said medic would come into sight! Angemon definitely didn't make the Dracmon raise a brow, merely giving a groan at the presence of an angel type, but whatever, he'd deal. To Mitsuko and her partner, the imp just leaned away with a shrug, the Witchmon giving a sigh. "Ah, charmed... well, that makes about everyone. We're a bit tight on time, so listen up, please." The Witchmon stepped a bit away from the other five in the group, sitting on her broom to get a better look at them all.
"Right, you've all read the flier... and its as it says. My dear twin sister's sent out a call for help... and, well, she's the keeper of an important medicine to Terminus and Whitewater. There's not much she could say on such a scrawled piece of paper, though it sounds like they've been able to overpower the area and take a good number of local Digimon there hostage. Ordinarily, I would have scouted out something myself, but, considering the circumstances..."
"CAW!"
A resounding noise echoed through the canopy of the forest. Immediately, the Witchmon sighed. "Don't tense up... that's just 'your ride'. Look up, please." Dracmon's eyes were already trained on the sky, and as the others would crane their heads up, they would see...
Well, 'something'. From this distance, it would look like a large eagle, a trail of dust carried behind it. And even further, just a distance above, was a distinguishable-enough black shape, taking the form of a Blimpmon. "The wandering island, Ceresmon. Honestly, it rarely flies this low."
'Low', right! Patamon would quickly see that it would just be too impractical to cover all that distance with wings: that range was only practically obtainable with machines!
"Right, time's shorter than I thought!" Standing up, and tapping her broom to the ground, a red, runic circle appeared in the clearing. With a momentary 'stutter', the magic circle glowed a faint red. "So, brief explanation... Ceresmon's back is a thick forest. It'll have a breeze but the canopy will keep the area heated and the air dense enough, but just be ready for your ears to pop. Dracmon?"
"Hm." The imp nodded! "Name's Dracmon. Since we were set on healers, I was assigned instead. I'm a sensory type so its my job to find the fruit itself. Your job, to keep it out of whatever is going on there. Area might be hot, so wits about ya."
"Right, now sit or kneel in the sigil, please. Stand if you want, not my fault if you tip over. I'll send you all right up!" The Dracmon already took to the far edge of the circle, sitting with a palm resting on a propped knee. Presumably the rest would follow...
And once they did, the symbol would pulse bright, a blurring sensation overtaking their eyes...
The peaceful sound of birds and insects would give way to the sound of running wind. As the group's vision would return, the five of them would find themselves sitting in a clearing, a blue sigil vanishing beneath them. Yes, there was a constant breeze: it was light enough to them, but above they would hear the rough rippling of the leaves against the wind, a silent warning against breaking through the canopy.
"Alright, on-guard-" The Dracmon stood on his feet, taking stock of the situation around him. His voice paused, though, as he took a look of the state of the soil around him: the dirt was torn up and uneven. A glance over to nearby trees showed signs of damage, sharp claw marks ripping through the bark; in the firmer parts of the soil, were signs of heavy boots, their soles digging deep into the soil around here. The damage seemed a bit dusted over, however...
... And a nearby ring of rocks, with dusty smoke rising from inside, painted quite a different picture. It laid undisturbed: "Someone set this up after the spat... tch."
Just how long had this raid been going on for? "Keep your eyes open. Going to take me a minute or two to learn how to filter out Ceresmon's data field. Until that, I'm pretty much blind as a bat up here."

"I agree." Cion replied to the Witchmon, who was the twin of the original Witchmon who had employed her. Naturally, the CyberSagitamon understood her reasoning, believing as well that proper introductions should be withheld until everyone of importance arrived. Regardless, she appreciated her display of courtesy. The quick appearance of the other members of their team, a female spirit-wielder, and a female digi-destined with her partner who reverted into a Patamon, eased her eager spirit. As patient as she was, the quicker she got into the fray of a mission the better she would feel afterwards. Besides, the faster they were, the more they might be able to save.
"I'm Cion. Pleasure's all mine." She said soft-spokenly yet with something professional to her slightly synthetic voice, which was typical for a future member of an organization like P.R.O.F.I.T. Of course she would be kind and patient with everyone she met as to assure a positive reputation, but she would keep it to a work-relationship with everyone else. If the mission was truly as dangerous and important as Witchmon described, then personal troubles mustn't impede them. She hoped the two humans and the Patamon were thinking the same way.
Disregarding Dracmon's salute that was not meant for her, she payed attention to the situation at hand. Listening to Witchmon's briefing, Cion immediately had questions she hoped could be answered. "Who was taken hostage? Villagers, wild digimons? Can we count on support of their friends and families?" She asked, trying to get a better picture of the adventure they would get themselves into, and of the resources they had at their disposal. Besides, ever since she had first received the letter, the vulpine digimon had been wondering if this was an open war or merely an unstoppable terror.
Before the Witchmon had time to answer her, a booming caw caught her attention, making Cion tilt her head towards the sky. It was so far away, yet next to a Blimpmon it was still visible. Not only that, this thing was supposed to a digimon called Ceresmon, which meant it had to be gargantuan. Perhaps the size of Terminus, perhaps even larger. "The island we are going to liberate... is an airborne digimon?" She more or less thought out loud, wondering how important avoiding collateral damage was now. Not that her powers were very destructive, but considering the dangerous fiend they might have to vanquish... things could get messy.
Calmly sitting down in a tailor seat as requested by Witchmon, she considered the remaining explanations as the sigil did its thing and teleported them on Ceresmon. Thanks to the forest on its back, they would have enough air to breath properly, and Dracmon would be the one responsible for finding the healing fruits they required. Hence it was her and the other warriors task to escort the imp safely to their destination, defend it from any adversary and... maybe assure that the mechanical menace was dealt with properly. Sounded easy enough to the mercenary to-be.
Closing her eyes, she would wait for all of her senses to readjust to the new environment. Standing up again once everything was over, she took in the fresh air this ancient, titanic digimon emitted. Taking in the scenery, she considered it quite an utopia, although the scars of battle tainted that opinion significantly. Quickly acknowledging Dracmon's words, Cion summoned her crystal bow, which immediately got coated by metallic ornaments as to harmonize with her current form.
Looking around, she too noticed that some of the damage done to the environment seemed recent, while other scars were pretty old. "After the spat?" The CyberSagitamon asked Dracmon, wondering what exactly the imp was talking about. Was there perhaps more to the conflict at hand than just a menace of metal? In any case, it seemed that Dracmon required some time to locate their target with its special powers, which was why she kept her eyes and ears open, as well as her bow drawn to gain an advantage through initiative.

Alicia smiled, looking over at the sound of feathered wings. Given who she knew, it could only be one pair, Mitsuko and Angemon. She waved to the two as they landed, the quirked an eyebrow as Patamon landed on her head. Which would feel a bit cooler to the touch then normal for some reason.
“It’s almost like you knew.” she mused as she undid her disguise, swelling up back into her standard figure while evolved into Mercurialdramon. Of course, regardless of that, she laughed at his comments. “Been doing well, can’t really complain.”
”How fortunate that we have such a close ally joining up here. A familiar face is always welcome.” Sol commented as he and Kisara manifested when called out by Patamon. The ice maiden, rolling with events much better then any could anticipate, promptly fired off a salute of her own to the Dracmon. She wasn’t exactly a dark spirit, that was sadly more Sol’s territory, but perhaps she was enough of a prankster to count in someway.
But introductions needed to wait, the Witchmon was speaking up. “You guys certainly are in quite the bind, both from the flier and what we’re hearing here...”
And then a truly resounding squawk, far too deep to be from anything smaller then a titanic monstrosity of a Digimon, echoed out. ”Well hello, Ceresmon, you’re earlier than anticipated.” Kisara quipped sarcastically, grinning. Alicia could also judge distance fairly well. While she could make the flight as Mercurialdramon thanks to being able to divert most of her mass into her wings to catch even the slightest of currents and ascend, it was a combination of exhausting for her, difficult for Mitsuko to breathe that high up without intervening circumstances, dangerous for all involved, and utterly frigid up there. How were they-
Of course Witchmon had it all planned out already. And knowing the forest would deal with freezing problems was a welcome relief. Wait, ear popping? ... Right they would be going very high, almost instantly... She was going to be miserable when she changed forms, wasn’t she? Nothing to do about it now, Alicia just sighed and moved onto the sigil and crouched down to brace herself. Sol and Kisara hovered close, hanging onto Alicia to make sure they were taken along for the ride as well, just in case. Snap backs sucked after all, and in that instance even Spirits could feel pain.
And with a flash of light, they were warped to their destination... which appeared to be the wreckage of an already concluded battle. Alicia wobbled significantly, groaning and shaking her head. Quickly, she recovered her cohesion and, upon sighting where they’d landed, tensed up and started scanning the area. Even before the Dracmon had said anything, ingrained instinct had raised the mercury dragon’s guard.
”I, for one, was under the impression that this was a recently sparked conflict. The current state of affairs implies this Digimon’s back has been made a warzone for a longer stretch of time.” Sol commented warily, especially with Dracmon muttering about the location being prepared “after a spat”. Unfortunately, with their guide effectively blind for the time being, they were rooted in place. ”Perhaps you should Slide into Metalumindramon, Alicia. As a pre-emptive measure.”
“Strongly considering that...” the Spirit User in question answered back tensely.

"Mr. Sol, Miss Kisara. A pleasure as always." Mitsuko said softly, as she gave each of them a warm smile. However her smile slowly disappeared as she noted the Dracmon's icy greeting (or lack there of) to them. Patamon noticing her slight frown, launched off of his cool, yet slightly squishy, Alicia Bed Head, and back into his tamer's arms. "Why so glum, sugar plum?" He said with a small giggle, as he looked in the direction of where she was looking. "Ah. Him. Don't mind, he's a dark type digimon. I'm a light type. We're bound to clash, but I promise to be on my best behavior. Scout's honor!" He said as he raised a furry little paw up in the air, where he booped Mitsuko's nose playfully.
"That's what I'm afraid of. You're no scout." She said under her breath as she watched in awe as Ceresmon approched! Mitsuko's jaw dropped, this was the biggest digimon she had ever seen! There was a full forest upon its back alone!
"Yeah, I am totally not cleaning up after that thing." Patamon said softly as he watched it. "And I don't think my little wings could ever catch up with it!"
Luckily they didn't have to worry about that, because Witchmon had already come up with a great plan! A teleportation spell of some sort. Mitsuko nodded at her instructions, and entered into the runic circle. A small tingle seemed to cover her body, as she sat in seiza form within the circle. They sigil pulsed brightly, and for a moment Mitsuko was weightless, before she felt solid ground beneath her again. The silverette stood up, brushing the dirt off of her knees. The sounds of birds and bugs filled the air, a soft wind blew her hair around her face. Perhaps she should have put it up.
The silverette put her hand against the damage upon the trees. Whatever had caused this had been large, and very dangerous. "Patamon..." She said softly, as he leapt out of her arms.
"Way ahead of you." Patamon began to glow in a golden white light.
"Patamon digivolve to... Angemon!"
The angelic digimon appeared in a burst of digital feathers and a small bell-like chorus. This always filled Mitsuko with hope. "Our eyes are open, Dracmon. Take as much time as you require." He gave the rookie a reassuring smile. Yeah, they were on opposite sides of the elemental spectrum, but that didn't mean they couldn't try to get along. Right?
Mitsuko was between Angemon and Mercurialdramon, she knew she was safe but she felt as if she should talk to the vulpine digimon. She gave Cion a soft smile, as she glanced around looking for any signs of danger. Angemon must have had the same idea, because his Angel Rod was out in a defensive position, as he listened for signs of danger.

Well, Cion was quite the serious one, wasn't she? Before they would get on the island, the Witchmon would listen to her questions, and shake her head. "Sorry, wish I could be of more help. Aside from my sister, though, I wouldn't expect much help..."
Then again, the Witchmon figured, such a varied group would be able to figure out something up there! "It should be pretty obvious to say, but the lot of you are just going to have to figure it out as it goes."
Past that, there would be no delay as the group made their way into Ceresmon's forest, right into this ragged clearing. As Dracmon briefly glanced around the area, the CyberSagitamon's question caught his ears. His head tilted towards the ultimate's direction: "Eh?" Right, not everyone was completely versed in tracking, and as such the Dracmon just gave a shrug, extending a claw out towards the rocks.
"Its a clean ring of rocks, set up for a campfire, on top of torn-up soil. Since the ring isn't disturbed, it means it was placed here after whatever fight was already over." He stepped up, resting a boot on top of the outside, running a nail through the ash. "Still dry, too." He pinched a piece of charcoal into trash data, giving a 'tch' as he turned to face his surroundings.
Thankfully, everyone seemed quick to get on their guard! Cion, without hesitation, already took a summoned bow into hand; Patamon took to his Angemon form, earning a nod from the Dracmon; and Alicia seemed capable and aware enough, though the imp really couldn't tell much about that colossal form.
"Guess the first thing we should do is see if we can track whatever set up-" The Dracmon would have finished that with 'this fire'; however, his hands instinctively twitched, the virus type giving a 'tch'. He opened his fists, a green eye showing in his left palm, and a red one glinting from his right, the latter of which he raised towards the edge of the clearing.
"GRAUGH!"Right in that direction, a red claw tore right through the foliage, the devil demon 'Devidramon' facing the three fighters head-on! That said, as intimidating as its presence could be by itself, there was definitely more than one thing 'off' about this creature. For one, its wings were not in tatters, and held a pure metallic sheen, its torso and legs covered in a similar, thin armor. Further, the top of its head seemed to be wrapped in a metallic shell, only two red eyes staring with a red glow, as opposed to its normal set of six.
And to top it all off, its element: from its fangs, and dancing between metal-laden claws, bounced with an impressive amount of electricity. As it moved, a slight blue blur flowed behind its movement, like a ghastly aura. "Tch... this the 'metal menace', already?!
No time to think about this now! Closest to Cion, Dracmon quickly moved next to the support, just as the demon let out a roar! With its 'breath', a wide surge of strong static would surge out, crackling heavy against the forest floor. Anyone right in front would feel the shock through their legs, enough to make even the most resilient creature 'lose a beat' in movement. And in the next moment, it would strike out, soaring forth with claws extended for Cion and Angemon. It would grab both if it could, but if they tried to move out of the way, Devidramon would bank and move straight for Cion with both arms!
That wasn't to say Alicia was being ignored, though: as the Devidramon was gathering attention, from the opposite side of the clearing a thin, blue 'bolt' would fire out, aiming to sink right into the behemoth Mercurialdramon's back!
Battle Log: Devidramon(?) used Storm Surge - Wide, Low-Power AoE to temporarily disable targets, before a physical attack. Electric/Data. 'Unknown assailant' used a 'Linear Bolt'. Effect/element unknown; appears to be a fast-moving electrical shot.

The banter between the two humans and Patamon was mostly not of interest to the CyberSagitamon, although she was sort of glad that the three of them were already familiar with each other. If they could work together properly, then Cion was certain that she could integrate herself into the group swiftly and adequately, too. She just had to figure out how they truly worked inside, and not what they pretended to be on the outside. Not that she was accusing them of anything, but from recent experiences, she learned that things were never what they seemed.
The Witchmon's response left her disappointed, but she remained calm regardless. If they were on their own, then that was simply how things were and she had to adapt to that. But it made her wonder why this menace bothered to kidnap digimons in the first place if it had no-one to blackmail. Questions on top of questions, but only taking actions would answer them. This was why she remained calm as she was brought on top of the Ceresmon with the help of the Witchmon, yet felt excitement about revealing the truth.
Still, it was safety first, which was why she had her bow ready to intercept any incoming target. After a brief moment of confusion, Dracmon explained what he had meant with 'spat', which was something easy for the mercenary to grasp. And as the little imp was busy investigating the scene, she remained on her guard, eyes and ears open as to make sure nobody was able to sneak up on them. Thankfully, her three allies had a similar attitude, digivolving to a more powerful state and covering as much ground as possible with their senses. And considering in what kind of environment they were, that was the only smart way of acting.
To their dismay however, it did not take long for them to grasp that their caution had truly been justified. A loud bellow caught her attention, quickly making Cion understand that they were being attacked. The foe that dashed out of the shadows appeared to be a completely feral Devidramon, but it was coated in metal. Was it perhaps a special evolution of some sorts, like a burst mode? It at least appeared to be more powerful than its common counterpart, so it was likely not a digimon of the Champion-level. Ultimate perhaps; after all, if it was Mega, its attacks would have lead to much more collateral damage.
Certain that this digimon was similar in power of an Ultimate, she watched it performing many attacks at once, a feat which astonished her. Whatever had gotten into it made it go all out, though they could likely abuse this fact and simply stall the fight until it collapsed from exhaustion. The vulpine digimon wondered if the others were even considering this possibility, or if they were just going to fight it. Whatever would be the case, she was ready to face it without fear.
Whether metal menace or not, their hands were forced to act in self-defense. Seeing the demonic entity utilize electrokinesis and a direct onslaught towards her in an attempt to harm them made her act in the only way that seemed reasonable. The only uncertainty she had to accept was the level of the hostile digimon they fought, although whatever happened next would clarify that.
Motioning her hand over her bow, one could barely fathom how fast she had been able to launch an arrow at the enhanced Devidramon. But it was not simply launched at its body, but at its left knee as to impede its movement. It would not do much damage if any, but if completely ignored it would soon give Cion the chance to make it blossom into something truly hazardous. However, this had only been a passive part of her attack, as were all of her data arrows, and what her true impetus was only revealed itself now. "Prismatic Firewall!"
In the same motion, her hand suddenly started to glow like a white fire. Pushing her arm forward, a prismatic wall of flames formed itself in front of her, reaching several meters in height and length. It was easily big enough to cover her and Dracmon, and also everyone else who decided to leap behind it. And if this unique Devidramon was of the Ultimate level of lower, it would find that its electric-zone ability would have its path blocked by it, and that its body could never hope to simply break through it to grapple them.
If it was Mega or higher however... then they would have a little problem at their hands. The fear of that alone made Cion not notice the second ambush targeting Alicia.

“The guide always gets cut off mid sentence it seems...” Alicia quipped sarcastically. It wasn’t like she expected this to be quick and easy. She just was hoping to not be attacked this quickly. Oh well, duty calls, but that Devidramon was obviously not normal. Nothing about a standard one even hinted to electrical attacks for one! Not to mention this looked more like some Cyber version. Luckily the fox was just as quick on the draw and set up a shimmering field of flames to wall off the static surge.
... And now that she saw it, Cion had even managed to snap off a quick arrow as well. How in blazes? ”That kind of draw speed, sighting, and firing is quite impressive...” Sol mused to himself in agreement to Alicia’s thought processes. Well, with that out of the way, the Mercurialdramon was ready to engage as well. Despite the wall providing shelter, though, she wasn’t inclined to stay passive as she wound her limbs up like springs.
With a leap and a beat of her wings, Alicia was airborne to a great degree, well avoiding the static discharge... And also leap out of the way of some kind of sniper-style bolt. Alicia’s eyes widened as she saw it streak by below her. “Sniper behind us! Cion, Angemon, can you deal with him!? I’ll handle Tall, Dark, and Plated!”
”It seemed to be a scouting shot to ascertain how tough you were.” Kisara noted off hand, biting her lower lip. ”There’s little chance that had enough power to cause serious damage, but every little bit is concerning...”
Hopefully the two supportive mons wouldn’t be out matched thanks to numbers. She’d much rather go after the sniper herself, but the frontal threat was best handled by her personally as she was certain she could shrug off the worst that he could dish out. So with a quick diversion of mass to grow her wings, another beat sent her careening into the Devidramon, handily interrupting its rush to initiate a grapple with the others. Given how large Devidramon were, that would’ve ended badly for both of them to be sure.
Either way, she’d tackled the augmented dragon down and was in prime position to strike, mercury beginning to heat up significantly until it began to bubble. “Scalding Metal!” Alicia howled, aiming the point blank stream of boiling metal at the Devidramon. That was probably going to ruin his day...
Battle log:
Alicia evades both attacks, and does not avail herself use of Cion’s Prismatic Firewall in favor of entering into melee combat with Devidramon via dive bombing body slam. Alicia attacks with Scalding Metal at basically point blank range.

Mitsuko's eyes widened as the metal plated devidramon burst forth. A small gasp escaped her lips as Angemon grabbed her around the waist and hurried behind the wall that Cion had created. "Thank you." Mitsuko whispered softly, "Both of you." Angemon nodded as he kept his attention on the threat in front of him. His muscles tensed, as if he were to spring into action any moment.
The silverette gave the cybernetic fox a soft smile as she turned towards Alicia. Mitsuko couldn't even call out a warning, because Alicia was already airborne! Mitsuko watched as the bolt missed, thankfully. This time, however, Angemon wheeled around and faced the area where the bolt had come from. "Sneak attacks? What a cheap shot." His usual playful tone was colored with anger as he placed himself where Alicia had been. Mitsuko clutched her digivice to her chest. No, she wouldn't give in so easily. She had to stay strong, for Alicia and Angemon! Others were counting on her, she couldn't give up. Not now! Mitsuko's digivice reacted strongly with a series of beeps and began to glow brightly! Mitsuko thrust the device towards her partner. It was his time to shine now!
"Angemon Digivolve to..."
Angemon's wings folded towards him, creating an egg like shell. Feathers flew around him, as he expelled his body once again. This time he was a bit bigger, A shield grew on his left arm, and a sword from a device on his right. A new visor now adorned his head. He was certainly majestic in his new form.
"MagnaAngemon!"
As usual, a bright golden light shone from her partner. Feathers fell soundlessly to the ground where they exploded into trash data upon impact. Inside her head, she could her the chorus of bells and this time the sounds of someone singing a hymn softly. Together, they could do this!
"Alright MagnaAngemon! Let's do this!" Mitsuko cheered, as she held her digivice tightly against her chest. MagnaAngemon nodded his head, he obviously couldn't agree any more.
"I'm all over this!" He said confidently as he looked towards where the should must have come from. His sword glowed as he smiled confidently. He may not know where exactly the shot came from, but he did have an idea on how to draw it out.
"Excali-Burst!"
MagnaAngemon slashed Excalibur in a wide arc from right to left, sending a large slash of holy energy careening towards the area where the sniper must have shot from. The first shot was a surprise, but now he was ready. The return fire, however, would at least give him a chance to actually draw out whatever it was that attacked them!
Combat Log:
1. Angemon moves himself and Mitsuko behind the Prismatic Firewall. 2. Angemon digivolves to MagnaAngemon 3. MagnaAngemon uses Excali-Burst to send a wide arc of holy energy towards the area where the Sniper shot from.

Thankfully, this hired group didn't take long to get into gear. Aside from a bit of a shocked response from Mitsuko, the only human in the group, everyone else responded in quick fashion. The Devidramon's approach was cut off by the Prismatic Firewall (which was now defending four targets, including the Dracmon), and an expert snap-shot was fired, aimed squarely for the metallic monster's knee. The arrow itself would break against the metal, the unfocused attack unable to pierce through the armor.
However, that was the least of the demon's worries: as he would make his charge straight towards the firewall, quite intent on trying to ram through the defense, Alicia would manage to slam into the beast from its right! The demon's feet dug its nails deep into the turf, just managing to stay on its feet, a fierce growl given to its newfound opponent. Even with only two eyes, its own gaze fiercely struck into the mercury-monster's form.
And it wasn't like he couldn't return the favor! The beast could already tell that any direct attack against this amorphous opponent wouldn't stick: his claws would probably harmlessly pass through the liquid, and any foolish attempt at returning the grapple would simply make the situation even more awkward. "Grrr..."
Just as the scalding metal would strike out, Devidramon gave his own response: he would stick his claws straight out, forcing his way through the mercurial body (if he could manage). In the next moment, his entire body would give out a bright blue glow, a massive surge of electricity coursing through the metal armor! "Ghastly Discharge!" The gravelly voice rang out, right after the attack would have been launched: in the immediate area around the demon, a massive pulse of electrical energy would explode outwards, with impressive power and speed. And if Alicia tried to build distance, the Devidramon would simply follow, wanting to catch as much of the body in this burst as he could. Sure, scalding metal would pour onto his shoulder and chest, but he was willing to take this damage to inflict a serious wound in return!
As for the currently 'unseen' sight in the forest, MagnaAngemon's attack would earn a rather straightforward response. Honestly, it would have been easy enough for the 'sniper' to simply duck into another part of the woods and attempt a bolt from another angle, but now this flying angel was actively looking for the assailant.
Thus, the Exacli-Burst would be met head-on, a voice ringing out from the woods: "Raiton-Arc!" At the holy arc's center, a bright, blue arc, angled up-and-down, would meet the attack head-on. It was smaller than the MagnaAngemon's wide swing, but much more dense in energy, allowing it to pierce right through the center and create a 'safe spot' for the assailant to remain. Sitting on a now-visible tree-branch would be another 'altered' Digimon, and this one had the main body of a Renamon.
A Renamon, with metal gloves and coverings over her feet. In slight similarity to the Devidramon, she wore an earpiece in her left ear, as well as a lens over her left eye. Across the top of her back was a metal casing, blue in color - even from this angle, it would look to be some sort of compartment. In her right hand was a more key-difference, though: she wielded a rapier, with a blade as long as she was tall, the weapon sparking with electrical energy.
And despite this apparent 'rookie' staring down an ultimate, she held her position. From MagnaAngemon's current distance, she'd appear to be whispering something. As she did, though, she wouldn't just stand passively: her free paw raised up, a heavy tree seed forming in her hand, which she would throw into the air, far above the angel. If it wasn't intercepted, it would crack open, and send an array of sharpened leaves, similar to 'diamond storm', in a wide area over the MagnaAngemon!
"First the demon, now that..." Looking over his shoulder at their apparent assailant, the Dracmon swore. Staying close to Mitsuko and behind Cion's cover, he took a deep breath, and would keep working to filter out Ceresmon's wide data field from his senses. This situation seemed hairy enough, but this group had two ultimates and a champion, compared to what looked like two ultimates in the very worst case. So long as the pulled through, surely they would be able to-
The ground beneath shook, a rough rumble felt through anyone standing on the ground, the Dracmon himself stumbling to a knee. A moment later, the Ceresmon let out a near-deafening squawk, and the entire forest seemed to bank, very slightly tilting as their ride took a bank to the left! "Damn it, what now?!"
Battle Log: 1) Devidramon(?) has passive - 'Powered Armor'. Lesser physical attacks have reduced effect. This appears to have an effect on energy-based attacks. 2) Devidramon(?) uses Ghastly Discharge - Fast and strong electrical burst in the immediate few feet surrounding the caster. 3) Renamon(?) uses 'Raiton Arc' - Short-range, strong electrical arc, using the rapier to cast. 4) Renamon(?) uses 'Diamond Rain' - Throwing a seed-pod into the air - after a short delay, a 'Diamond Storm' rains down from the pod. 5) A heavy explosion has diverted Ceresmon's direction!

"My pleasure." Cion calmly responded to Mitsuko as they and Angemon remained unharmed behind the temporary firewall she had conjured. To her relief, it indeed managed to block the empowered Devidramon's shock field, which in turn meant that it was not as powerful as a digimon of the Mega-level. If it was an Ultimate or just a very powerful Champion she could not tell, but it did not matter in the big picture to begin with. With the information at hand, she knew that her abilities could affect it, which meant she could be relentless in assuring those fiends would be vanquished.
However, the strange armor prevented her arrows to lodge into its body, which actually startled her. "B-but... how?" She wondered, knowing that her conjured arrows had no real physical properties to them until they lodged inside their targets. Perhaps a spectral armor that looked metallic? Whatever was the case, it was highly unusual, and nullified one of the most powerful aspects of her abilities. This meant she had to rely more on her other powers and avoid the pattern she so often found herself pursuing. If anything, adaption was the key to survival, which was why she found herself relishing the challenge.
As Angemon digivolved into a MagnaAngemon, Cion saw Mercurialdramon being attacked by someone who ambushed it. Thankfully, it managed to dodge and immediately started duking it out with the empowered Devidramon. "Affirmative!" Cion shouted as her firewall faded, she alongside Mitsuko and MagnaAngemon letting Alicia handle the dark beast while they turned their focus on the hidden attacker. The holy digimon did not hesitate and immediately launched an attack at the spot the new fiend was located it, only to have it block by a move of its own.
Leaping out of the shadows and standing on a thick branch of a tree was a Renamon, coated in synthetic material just like the Devidramon. "A Rookie..." She whispered, unable to believe it had been able to block an attack of an Ultimate digimon. Even considering how unusual this Renamon was with its armor and weaponry, that seemed completely implausible. But again the CyberSagitamon dismissed those thoughts and instead focused on the aspects they could exploit. After all, it seemed that the Renamon was as powerful as an Ultimate just like the Devidramon, meaning that her abilities should be able to affect it as well.
"Engage! I'll cover your and Mitsuko's back, MagnaAngemon!" She commanded her ally, hoping that she was not too imposing. Hopefully, her partner would realize that he was better in close combat than her thanks to his stronger armor and sword. She could assist him from a distance, but only if he allowed her to. Whatever the MagnaAngemon decided to do at the end, he was clearly the focus of the empowered Renamon's attack. This granted her some respite to think about a proper strategy to deal with their opponent. And considering the position the Renamon was at, she thought she had the perfect solution.
"Translucent Maelstorm!" Cion bellowed as blue energies emerged around her paws. Almost instantly, they manifested in a transparent sphere around the Renamon. Quickly, it imploded into a large maelstrom of pure data, tearing at the nearby Flora like they were pulled by a small black hole. It would only last for a few seconds, but whatever was caught inside of it would be rendered unable to move until it faded. Perhaps that would give MagnaAngemon the time he needed to form a proper strategy against the Renamon. That was if it hit.
Whatever the result, another 'data arrow' followed suit immediately in another attempt to impede her enemies' movements. Not even bothering to shoot at the Devidramon, she crossed her fingers that the Renamon's armor was not powerful enough to negate her arrow. Even if the effect it imposed was small, seizing every opportunity was vital in their endeavors.
Taking in a deep breath, she suddenly felt the earth shake as everything tilted slightly to the left. This made the CyberSagitamon drop to the ground and cling to it, nervously looking around as to make sense out of this. Ceresmon's booming caw instantly made her comprehend what was going on. "Something hurt this titan?" She thought out loud, looking over to Mitsuko to assure that she was okay.

She had seen the jolts build up just in time for the discharge. But there was already no time for her to break away. On top of that, she simply couldn’t afford to, with Mitsuko, Ang- err MagnaAngemon if her ears weren’t betraying her, and Cion dealing with the sniper behind her. And of course Dracmon was basically a sitting duck at the moment regardless. Fortunately, a quick poke at the ground with a tendril of mercury showed there was a significant enough amount of dirt to successfully ground the charge she was about to get hit with, as long as she didn’t brush up against Ceresmon itself.
With a plan of action in mind, she snared his arm with one of her hands at his elbow and burrowed several more tendrils in, right as the electricity started to wash over her. Her highly conductive body in this form rapidly ran what charge got into her into the earth around them. While she was heating up from the voltage, she just smirked at the Devidramon and diverted extra mass to make her own arms swell up as well as shifting them so that she was grappling the Devidramon with her hands aimed skyward.
Then she slammed compression down on the swelled limbs, while making sure to direct the force outward. The result? What amounted to a pair of pistons pressed up to his body and elbow suddenly ‘exploding’ outward from pressure. Dug in he may have been, but with the angling, she’d lifted him up and out at the same time, eliminating his ability to grip onto the terrain and launching him back with significant force due to her application of mechanical knoweldge.
Then her mass was reshaped again like mercury’s alternate name of quicksilver, blades forming as she sought to cleave the cyber demon dragon in two. “Mercurial Divider!” With flicks of her wrists, the blades whistled through the air, hopefully while Devidramon was still recovering from being blasted away like that. Alicia herself smoked a bit, but frankly wasn’t as significantly injured as her foe would’ve liked. He was going to learn very quickly that she was a tough nut to crack.
Fortunately, Ceresmon’s sudden course correction didn’t impact her too much, but she did notice and her eyes went wide as she dug into make sure she could maintain her footing. “That sounded like Ceresmon wasn’t planning on this change... Is this ‘metal menace’ trying to herd it somewhere with some kind of air mines...?”
”No way to tell for sure right now. Lets take ol’ helmet head out ASAP and regroup.” Kisara quipped out, biting her lip.
”What do you think she’s trying to do, Kisara? Play a game of baseball?” Sol shot back, rolling his eyes.
“How do you even know what baseball is?” Alicia couldn’t help herself but ask. Sol deigned to not answer the question.
Battle Log
Alicia takes the Ghastly Discharge head on, reducing the damage by grounding the charge and piston-bursting Devidramon away from her before the attack ran its full course.
Alicia tries to strike while Devidramon is hopefully disoriented with Mercurial Divider.
