Recombinant Woes [Martian/Spire]

Viktor only crossed his arms, not even flinching at the large, bipedal, flaming lion that stood him down. He almost seemed a little agitated by it;
"You should stick to your normality. It is none of your business." He went back to facing his opponents, further ignoring the pleas for him to talk it out. He knew as well as anyone else that wasn't an option.
The Orgemon leaned back, happy to indulge the Flaremon on this human and his crimes, false as they may be; "He's wanted for escaping his punishment. He killed dozen of digimon in the attack that was lead by Vexus. There is no investigation, there is no opposition. He was tried, and found guilty of these crimes. So! If you help us bring him in, we'll be sure to reward you with a cut from his bounty... which is quite substantial."
Viktor said nothing, he only stared into the very soul of his foes, his glare more than enough to ward most off. But these Orgemon had something that was far worse than any enemy on the battlefield. Overconfidence. Viktor never underestimated his opponents, weak as they may seem. Even operating in an area where you were superior in every way, it was never smart to face an opponent thinking you had nothing to worry about. As the saying goes: It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog.
Several moments of silence went by as Viktor eventually broke it; "Given our friend, I will give you one last chance. Leave, or die."
The same smirks across their permanently gaped mouths; "You don't scare us. Your a fugitive and you will face justice."
Viktor pulled his device out, "There is no justice."

"Hoo boy" Bellamy said, fanning himself off with a nearby menu as Coronamon evolved into Flaremon. Seeing him in this form always made him a little hot under the collar, for multiple reasons. But still, he hoped things wouldn't have to get nasty.
Marshal added to Luke's questions, but the man said that it was none of their business. Colin was really unsure about prying further. Bellamy was right, they had enough worries on their plate without getting stuck into Luminas business.
"You cause one bit of damage to this restaurant though and you'll be sorry!" Bellamy said, making his line in the sand clear.
Vexus. There was that word again. Colin and his partners exchanged nervous looks. They had heard of trouble in Luminas by that group of renegades. And they had heard they got tangled up with the old DATS as well. Was this human a part of Vexus?
No investigation though? That set off alarms in Luke's mind though. "Hey, wait, no investigation?" he asked. Something sounded wrong about that. "Do you have any proof of the warrant or the bounty?" he continued.
Bellamy meanwhile objected to something completely different. "This ain't Luminas though, you can't barge into my babe's restaurant and drag out a payin' customer like that!" he said, thinking it was incredibly rude of them to do so. "And also why is Luminas sendin' Virus attributes to do its dirty work in the first place? I thought they hated our types up there. Why are you workin' for them?"
They were mainly continuing to ask these questions because they still intended on staying neutral in this for as long as possible, as well as getting as much information out of them as they could. If Vexus and Luminas were starting up trouble in neutral zones in the digital world, they thought this might be something that Yuu and Koharu would need to know about.

The Orgemons looked to the now Flaremon standing before them, looking to each other, "This is official Luminas Business. You attack us, you'll be wanted for your crimes!"
The lead pointed a crooked finger at Viktor then spoke for him: "He is wanted for escape from prison. He was given the position as Guardian of the Orb, and he left his post. Before that, he was tried and found guilty for terrorism and the murder of over a dozen digimon, including council members and Fresh digimon! He's a monster that is too good for death... he deserves to be stuck as a statue for the rest of eternity."
Viktor didn't speak, he didn't fight, he didn't even defend against the accusations. He wouldn't tell if he did or didn't do it. It didn't matter now. What mattered was the odds and the enemy.
When he spoke, he looked to the Flaremon, "Maybe I am as bad as they say. Maybe I'm a monster who murdered children and killed government officials." He rolled his neck, watching carefully, "I'm not the one who threatened everyone around them and hide behind Luminas."
Viktor glared at one, while the lead Orgemon spoke, the other one snuck around and was attempting to take out Viktor in one, cruel strike. Viktor saw it, but pretended not to.
"Go home. You failed. I'm sure this Chef can fight as well as he cooks."
Suddenly, an Orgemon rushed Viktor and dropped his Club! It was quick, quicker than what one might have expected from a Champion. Viktor didn't flinch, he simply stood as the Club came from behind.
But... it didn't hit him. Instead, it found itself stopped just short, a staff holding it firmly in place. The Orgemon looked up, confused as to what could have stopped him. To his surprise, a Sakuyamon was there, sliding in just in time to stop the strike;
"That's not very nice."
She sent the Club up and into the Orgemon's face, then spun backwards, sliding the staff further down and striking the Orgemon yet again, sending spit and teeth flying in the opposite direction. Genesis slammed her pole into the ground and sighed, looking to the remaining two:
"I think it's time to show you how you the error of your ways. Pops?" She looked to Viktor.
"There's no need to continue. If they fight, they'll lose. Surely they know that."
"Why you...!"
The Lead Orgemon looked the the Flaremon; "Hey! Help us take him down and we'll give you his part of the reward." he pointed to his downed teammate, "It's 15000 bits."
It must be tempting. 15000 for a fight? But one would have to consider the odds. If Viktor was hiding a Mega under his sleeve... what else did the human have to show?
It was up to them to decide their next course of action.

Marshal seriously had no idea what was going on. He had never really met anyone from Luminas, nor had he ever had the desire to go there. He wasn't entirely sure how things worked there, but it seemed odd that they'd send a squad of Ogremon at someone.
One of the pursuers charged and brought their club down on the man, but it was stopped by a Sakuyamon. Marshal and Flaremon suddenly felt less compelled to fight, since this guy had a strong enough partner to hold off his pursuer's, but something still didn't sit right. What side would they even take on this stance? Sure, a bounty was nice, but they also didn't think that messing with this guy was the right idea. Something about him just felt super intimidating. The two of them backed up.
"Your business is none of ours," Flaremon said curtly to the Ogremon. "I've been around the Digital World long enough to know not to meddle in the affairs of Luminas. Just stay the hell away from my restaurant and we won't have an issue." Marshal nodded, as if to affirm what his partner was saying. The man and his Sakuyamon would surely be able to handle this on their own, but if things got rough, they would have to step in to protect the city. For now, they were content to sit and observe from a distance.

Colin was watching this situation unfold with concern. This was honestly one of the first situations he had encountered in the digital world where the best move might be to not take part? He didn't know what happened in Luminas City. He didn't know Viktor or the Ogremons. The only thing in common he had with Viktor was that they were both humans, although, with his experiences so far, was that even true now? It was a little too much for the 14 year old to make a good decision on what to do.
Then his charges was read out by the Ogremon. Luke gasped in shock and Bellamy bared his teeth in anger.
"Fresh digimon?!" Luke exclaimed, turning to Viktor. "Do you deny that?!"
But... he didn't. Luke shook his head with disbelief. What kind of monster kills Fresh digimon? Bellamy meanwhile could tell that this situation was very complex, but, he wouldn't fight unless Colin requested.
Then the Sakuyamon joined the battle, it seemed that the Renamon he was with before wasn't quite as absent as expected. The Ogremon knew they were outnumbered, and so they looked to Flaremon to help them. Even bribing him. 15,000 bits was not a sum to turn one's nose up at, but, the Flaremon that Bellamy loved of course turned it down.
And when Flaremon declined, Colin did too. "What he said. None of our business" was his decision. And thus, all they did was held back and watched the fight that would proceed. However, Colin intended to ask Viktor more about the story when this was over. He had to - after all, he bore the Digimental of Compassion. If Fresh digimon died by this man's hands, he had to know why.

The Second Orgemon bounced in place, adjusting his grip on the club while he looked to his friend, then nodded;
"We've been planning for this!"
Viktor continued his scowl, signaling Genesis, who hopped down next to him and planted her staff;
"Plans fail."
Without so much as a warning; Genesis rushed forward, giving a single spin as she appeared to 'slide' across the ground. With her staff trapping feet, she effectively tripped the Orgemon to the left. His feet came out from under him and his body went lateral. She led him down with the staff, then gyrated her hips, loosening her grip on the staff then quickly tightening it. Extending her reach with a powerful strike that sent the opposite Orgemon flying towards Viktor, who simply side stepped and rotated around.
"Get up and leave. We've no interest in killing you."
He stood up slowly, wiping his jaw and chuckling;
"Neither do we. You're going back to your little orb!"
He rushed forward, looking to strike Viktor in the same manner before. Yet again he didn't move, and Genesis zipped across the ground to easily catch the club with her hand. She pulled with a quick, violent motion that robbed the Orgemon of his club... and skin on his palm. He cried out as she threw the weapon away, then butted him with the length of her staff. He reeled back, clutching his face from the sheer impact. Genesis planted her staff into his shoulder, leaning down make her tamer's point that much more profound.
"Why are Orgemon always so rude? We're letting you leave. So take it!"
The last one, the one on the left, stood up and decided instead he'd go for Colin! If not stopped, he'd attempt to snatch him up and hold him hostage to the Flaremon;
"K-Kill them or I'll hurt him!"
It was becoming apparent who the bad guys really were!

That was the moment where the Ogremon would learn just how badly he messed up. Colin might not have been Flaremon's Tamer, but at this point he was like family. Before the enemy even reached Colin, Flaremon grabbed his entire face with his large paws and attempted to lift the ogre up and slam him to the ground. "We were going to leave this alone," Flaremon reminded them. "All you had to do was leave us out of your business. Now you'll have more than just one Mega Digimon to worry about." He glanced at Marshal, who nodded and raised his Digivice above his head. "Flaremon Mega Digivolve to...Aldamon!"
"Now you've got another pissed off Mega to worry about!" Aldamon shouted angrily. Marshal looked over at the unknown Tamer. "I don't know what you've done in your past, but that's none of our business. We'll help you clear these guys out, but only because they crossed the line."

Colin was rather impressed at how easily Sakuyamon dealt with the Ogremon trio. But then again, she outclassed them by two levels, so, it was to be expected. She neutralised two and then turned to the third, who ran directly at him!
Colin gasped, fumbling for his digivice. Luke and Bellamy also stood at the ready, the two rookie levels closing ranks in front of him. While outmatched, they might just be able to delay the Champion level enough until Colin could react.
But this didn't seem to be necessary, since Flaremon interposed and seemed to stop the Ogremon in his tracks with sheer force, at least it was hoped. If successful, Bellamy would grin up at him.
"Babe, you saved my partner..." he remarked. Heh. Tonight if they got through this, Bellamy would thank him more intimately tonight.
"Uh, not to stop you throwing roses, Bells, but... protecting Colin is kind of our job?" Luke reminded his brother. Bellamy shook himself out of it while Colin readied the relevant card.
"Digimodify!" Colin cried as he activated the red card. "Mega Evolution Activate!" The twins glowed with light as the two of them evolved.
"Elecmon... Warp-digivolve to... Fulminomon!" Luke cried, becoming the red and white Magnamon variant clad with blue digizoid armor, sparking with energy.
"Impmon... Warp-digivolve to... Beelzemon!" Bellamy shouted, evolving to the black winged devil warrior digimon. All this was probably a bit of overkill, but it was mainly for intimidation factors. The twin mega digimon resumed their place in front of Colin.
"Hmph. Luminas might be a city of high and mighty snobs, but as far as I know they don't take humans hostage" Bellamy said, glaring at the Ogremon that had tried to harm Colin. "If you really work for them, which I doubt, go back and report your failure. If not, get lost to whatever swamp you crawled out of, ya lyin' jerk".
Colin then turned his attention to Viktor and Sakuyamon. Just... what was the deal here? He was curious to find out.
