Some rules before you join: - Anyone can join, from Rookie to Super Mega and equivalent, but be warned, circumstances may put you at a disadvantage. - Evolution is limited to Rookie and Armor Champion only. Any evolutions above this level will fail [Tamers/Solos]. - For Spirit Wielders, evolution is limited to Sprite and Human Fragment forms. - For Xros Generals, you may not fuse your digimon in any way. - I will be posting every 5 days. Please make sure that you post before the deadline, or you risk your turn being skipped. - Combat is highly likely, so come prepared. - Participants will be capped at 5 players. First in, first served.
Ready? Let's go.
The Valley of Dragons was drenched in an orange hue from the sunset. The dragon digimon that inhabited it were proud and wary of those that dared to enter. Only the bravest of travellers would tread through the dry and dusty path through the Western Flatlands - well, them and the least informed.
However, something was amiss here. For at the western crest of the valley, something was there. High, pointed and dark from the light of the sunset, a simple black obelisk stood vigil. The dragons who lived in the valley looked up at it with curiosity and wonder.
"Who put that there?" a Coredramon remarked to his Growlmon friend.
"I dunno, it just... showed up today" the Growlmon admitted, his yellow eyes frowning as he took in the sight of it. "I don't like it. Something feels wrong about it".
"On that we're agreed" the green Coredramon said. He began to flap his wings. "Shall we take a closer look?"
"Alright... but let's be cautious" Growlmon said. And so while Coredramon circled above, getting closer to the dark tower, Growlmon climbed up the western wall of the valley, heading toward it. It was then when disaster struck.
The moment Coredramon entered the range of the black tower, he gave a roar of shock. Growlmon looked upward as his friend suddenly glowed white, data trailing from him. "No! Coredramon!" he shouted, and ran to his aid. Coredramon was shrinking! No... de-digivolving! Running as fast as he could, Growlmon too entered the range of the black obelisk's mysterious power, and he too de-digivolved. Above him, Coredramon was now Dracomon, as he had been before he had evolved, and was hurtling toward the ground. Growlmon positioned himself below, and caught him, but the impact stunned them both. It was then that Growlmon realized he was Guilmon again.
"Thank you, friend..." Dracomon said, panting from the shock of the moment. "But... what happened? Why are we rookies again?"
"It's the tower, I know it" Guilmon said, glaring at it. "We have to destroy it!"
Easier said than done. As they approached, there was a deep rumble that shook them to their digicores. There was something ahead. Red and white with green spikes running along its back, there was a Tyrannomon ahead. This confused Guilmon.
"Why is he a Champion level?" he wondered. Dracomon was more concerned with the red eyes and menacing look on the dinosaur.
"Guilmon! Run!" he wailed, and the two only turned tail just in time as a blast of flame scorched the ground where they were standing. They fled for their lives, running all the way to the end of the valley. After panting and trying to relax, they wondered what to do next.
"It pains me to say so, but... we may need help for this" said Guilmon.
"You don't mean..." Dracomon gasped, but Guilmon nodded. "Alright. We'll tell everyone we know. We might need... humans to help us with this".
Of course, any help was welcome. From solo digimon, spirit wielders or even xros generals, only a concentrated effort would be able to take down the tower. They didn't think their fellow dragons would help. After all, who would want to de-digivolve down to a rookie as they approached the tower?
And so, Guilmon and Dracomon waited, hoping word would spread.

Let's be honest - there was rarely a reason for a human-and-partner to end up anywhere near the Valley of Dragons. Between near-feral dragon type Digimon, proud dragon tribes that hated humans, and even more proud dragon tribes that wanted to show the other ones what for, the entire place amounted to a mess of uneven scorched earth, violence, and sheer cliffs that fell straight off into the canyon.
But, then again, this was the only place in the Digital World to naturally find 'Dragon's Tail', a rare plant that only sprouted off the sides of the cliffs themselves - the Digital World was quite eccentric in how it coded these inconveniences - and gosh darn it, Dr. Mikemon needed some seeds to start to properly cultivate it in Whitewater's greenhouses. That task alone was already an adventure and a half for Iko and Luke, the pair only managing to find four of the plant by the time the sun started to set!
"When we get back," the wolf groaned, "I'm going to throttle that cat. One hour excursion, my tail..."
"Ugh." Luke wiped his brow, the sun practically level with their eyes now. "Screw it, let's just get back to the Trailmon station before this gets any worse."
The two could agree on that! Walking towards the setting sun, both of them kept a rather steady pace. Thankfully the Valley was rather calm today, most dragon sightings either relatively friendly or too far-off to tell, though one thing did eventually stand out as quite out of the ordinary:
A tall, black obelisk stood, casting a long shadow onto the valley. This single structure stuck out like a sore thumb against the relatively flat valley, and on seeing it, Luke rubbed his eye. "Hey, you seeing this, or am I going crazy?"
"Oh, good, its not just me." What, was some tribe trying a little too hard to mark their territory? With a shrug, Iko gestured to lead on. But after a few hundred more yards, before they would even get close to the tower, Iko's frame flashed white, replaced with the form of the squirrel, Kinezumon!
"Hm?" Luke chuckled. "Tired out? Don't blame you-"
"That's not it." Iko stepped back a few yards, and the light of Digivolution surrounded him again. Here, at least, he could take his champion form. But... "Hmph. Soon as I stepped closer than this, it felt like there was a shock going straight through me... something's fishy."
"Tch. So it forces you down that far? Guess we'll have to find a way around-"
"Doesn't matter." Iko's experiment done, he willfully transformed into his rookie self, and perched on Luke's shoulder. "We'll never make it to the station on time if we take the long way around. Don't worry, I'll keep my eyes open."
Luke nodded. It was risky, but so long as they didn't have to walk right at the tower, they should be fine, right? Heck, maybe other Digimon in this area knew what the heck was going on!

Marshal hadn't gotten to feel the rush of flight in a while, so he and Firamon had decided to take a flight over the Valley of Dragons today. "Man, it's nice to feel the wind in my face again!" Typically, when they flew nowadays, they utilized Apollomon, but that was a different sensation entirely.
Firamon was also enjoying the flight, as he hadn't used his lower forms in a while. "I know what you mean," he said, smiling. However, their leisurely joyride would soon take a turn for the worse once the winged lion started to feel his energy draining. Before he knew it, the pair started losing altitude.
"What's going on?" Marshal asked.
"Not...sure..." Firamon grunted. "I'm losing strength..." Before they knew it, Firamon crashed to the ground and reverted back to Coronamon. The shock of the crash caused the two of them to pass out temporarily.

Chaos has long ruled over many areas of the Digital World. Powerful Digimon clashing with each other to expand their domain. A lone Wormmon travels across the Valley of Dragons. The Worm King had just been through a great ordeal. Along with his Tamer Dante, a group of Tamers and Spirit Wielders had assembled to take down a known underground crime syndicate through leaked information, but it was all a trap. After the catastrophe, Wormmon found himself separated from Dante and his friends. He was left all alone, and is now searching for his missing Tamer.
Wormmon continues venturing across the valley, crawling along one tiny step at a time. He was in need of food, video games, and someone to complain to. As he continues across the rocky landscape, he looks up and sees a large dark figure looming down at the valley below. "What's that? A giant chocolate bar? All right!" Wormmon hurries along as fast as he can, getting closer to the obelisk. Had he currently been at one of his higher stages, he would have been forcibly devolved down to Rookie due to the tower's strange nature. Wormmon had no idea that he was stumbling across a construct built for nefarious reasons.
Wormmon crawls up along the hillside, getting closer to the unknown obelisk. He sees other Digimon and Tamers starting to gather in the area. "Huh. I wonder if this is their chocolate. Looks like they will have more than enough to share." Wormmon gets closer to the obelisk, and it doesn't look much like a giant chocolate bar anymore. "What the? That's not made of chocolate. Who would build something like this way out here?" Wormmon looks over, and sees that the others have spotted him. "Hiya! I am the prestigious and noble Wormmon, the Worm King. What's going on here?" Wormmon was hoping Dante might be nearby, but he doesn't see him anywhere. "Say, uh, have any of you seen a skinny guy with blonde hair? Probably wearing a leather jacket?"
There wasn't any way to tell where Dante ended up after the ambush. Wormmon would have to tackle the next set of challenges without his best buddy. And if Wormmon was a wild thing before, what would it be like without Dante trying to keep the Worm King under control? Wormmon worries about Dante. He was probably wandering alone in the Digital World much like Wormmon was. Though this would prove to be a learning experience for the little bug Digimon. He would have to get by without his partner, without Digivolving, relying only on his wits. Whether or not Wormmon was up for the task did not matter. He would just have to roll with the punches.

The landscape was alien, or, well, as alien as this place could get. How had she appeared here? The sight of the canyons currently in front of her were nothing short of breathtaking, but she couldn't bring herself to enjoy them, mostly because... she didn't remember seeing them in her life.
This was inconvenient. She didn't know why, but the way to get outta here was just ahead, and that currently was being blocked by an ominous dark spire and giant red lizard. She sighed, noticing the smaller digimons ahead.
How in tarnation was she supposed to get away? Soon enough, she noticed the smaller digimons some distance away, and after taking a deep breath, Amelie decided to approach them.
If life gave you lemons, might as well make lemonade outta them. After making sure they caught her presence, she waved her hand in a greeting. "Um, hello. Tad new in this place, but I take that this is... the Digital World or something?" If these beings proved to be friendly enough, she'd follow up. "What's up over here? Take that thing over here isn't up to anything good, and I kinda need to pass through there..."
This would be a strange day. For sure.

Why had she even come this far again? That was right, Valley of Dragons apperantly had some interesting locations if you could get past all the aggresive dragons that made their beds here.... Well that's what she had heard at the very least. Past a few other locales she had wanted to check this one out too. So of course when she made her way through and found a large ugly looking tower of some kind that stuck out like a sore thumb? She couldn't help but be curious.
Ontop of it there seemed to be a large digimon in front of it as well. A Tyrannomon of all things? Why was it here? What was in the tower? What was the tower for? She felt these questions bubble up as she made her way down to it. By the time she arrived however there were a few people that had gathered there. She didn't recognize any of them really; there was half a dozen different wormmon that-... Wait worm king? Skinny guy with blond hair?
She'd frown slightly and trot closer, unsure exactly what was transpiring. She'd stand a good five or so odd paces away staring at the grouping. What was she supposed to ask or even say? Were they here to figure out what that tower thing was? She'd have to give a greeting of some sort of course. Giving a small wave she'd quirk an eyebrow and felt her ears laying back a bit.
"Wormmon what are you doing here? And yes this is the digital world. I'm not sure what that tower is, but it can't be good. I don't think that Tyrannomon there is just for show either..."

OOC: While players are still separate, posting order doesn't matter for the moment. I'll let you know when this arrangement changes.
It seemed there were five outsiders present in the area. Guilmon could smell their unfamiliar scents from a distance away. Three humans, an insect and a beast digimon. A rare sight in these parts. It seemed that they were scattered around the area. Instantly, Dracomon and Guilmon knew what to do. They exchanged a determined nod, then parted ways for the moment, meeting each individual and hoping to bring them all together.
The first was a human that was near the black obelisk. It seemed his partner was a small squirrel digimon. He approached with a wave. Hopefully they wouldn't respond with hostility. When he was within speaking distance, he called out to them.
"Er, hello! Sorry if this sounds odd, but, that dark tower there? It's got some kind of strange power that de-digivolves you. If you'd like to help out, could you please head toward the entrance of the valley so our efforts can be combined?"
He would remain for only one question, but would then rush to the next person to inform them what was going on.
As Guilmon had dashed off quickly, Dracomon was left behind to be greeted by the human girl. He waved his paw in response. "Ah, hello!" he called to her. He blinked with a slightly bewildered expression, was she asking if this was the digital world? "Er... yes, this is the digital world" he answered. And she needed to pass through here?
Dracomon noticed she didn't have a partner at all. This confounded him slightly. "I'm sorry, is this really your first visit to this world?" he asked, cocking his head. Whatever her answer, he had to go and gather the others present in the area. "I'd really like to tell you more, but I have to dash off for a moment. Could you please wait here at the entrance of the valley? That tower is dangerous to approach. I'll be back, I promise!"
With that, Dracomon rushed off toward another human.
Guilmon then encountered a Wormmon. He declared that he was the noble Worm King. Guilmon cocked his head curiously. "Hello" he said. Wormmon then asked what was going on. "It seems that someone or something put that dark tower up there" he nodded toward the obelisk. "It's very dangerous, and it has the power to de-digivolve you back to rookie". He was currently a rookie? Well, that made sense probably.
The Wormmon asked if he had seen a missing individual. A skinny guy with blonde hair? "So... a Renamon?" Guilmon asked. Oh, wait, maybe he was referring to a human? "Are you talking about a human? I saw one around here, but his hair was black I think. Well, my friend and I are asking outsiders in the valley to gather at the entrance, so he might be there? Maybe you could go there and see if he's present?"
With that, Guilmon went off to search for the other digimon present, and saw her right there. "Hello" he said, then saw she knew the Wormmon. He heard her remark about the dark tower. "Yes, I have a very bad feeling about this. I think... we need to team up to destroy it somehow, but, we need to gather our strength to get past that Tyrannomon. Could you please help us?"
Guilmon asked this of Renamon and Wormmon. If so, he would lead them back to the valley entrance.
Dracomon found the human with the Coronamon partner next, both were unconscious, apparently crash-landed from the effect of the black obelisk. "Oh no... I have to help them!" he gasped. All he had on him was a small bag draped over his shoulder. It was much bigger than appropriate for Dracomon, seeing as he wore it as Coredramon, but, he checked its contents quickly. Okay good, the little glass bottles he carried as first aid were still intact.
Dracomon wafted smellingsalts under their noses to wake them from their passing out, hoping it would work.

Marshal was immediately woken up by a weird scent. He jolted upright, immediately awake and alert. "Woah," he said, everything finally catching up with him. "What happened?"
Coronamon's nose detected a hint of ammonia in the air, and it caused his brain to go on alert. That stuff was dangerous, after all! He was quickly back up on his feet and took in his surroundings. Marshal was sitting up, which was good. Their savior appeared to be a Dracomon.
Marshal, however, got the wrong idea. "Dracomon!" he said with a shock, taking this random Digimon for the partner of Robyn Drake, a girl he had been searching for recently. "Where's Robyn?"
Coronamon was able to tell just by looking at this Dracomon that he wasn't who they thought he was. "This isn't Robyn's partner," Coronamon assured him. "This is a passerby, as far as I can tell."
"Oh," Marshal sighed. "Sorry about that. Thanks for saving us!" He laughed nervously, not sure what to make of the situation.
"I can't believe my Digivolution just broke like that," Coronamon muttered to himself, putting the pieces together. "I should be able to hold that form with no problem."

Small, winged lizard seemed to be friendly enough. Except for the fact that it had ditched her in this place after giving her some set of complex explanations that she didn't quite get and telling her to stay put.
Eh, Amy hadn't ever been at all good at obeying the directives of strangers, and also, she figured that she was at least as fast as the reptile. So, she just began to jog behind him. And eventually stopped when the other dude entered her sight. Welp, at least seemed that there were other humans in here, even though this man probably saw better days. That crash must've hurt.
She didn't have any of the first aid stuff that the digimon had, but she'd still lend him some help.
Well, if there was help to be given, that is. She approached, making sure that to make her presence known before asking the man. "You okay? That seemed like a pretty nasty crash."
The brunette then proceeded to give a look at the fiery lion-like animal sides. Well, at least dude had a digimon to help him. Wouldn't it be that bad right? "Take there's something strange going on over here? Otherwise, lizard-guy wouldn't have been so nervous when he tried to ditch me."

Well, it seemed that Iko and Luke weren't the only ones around, nor was the squirrel the only one trapped in rookie! A Guilmon was quick to flag down the pair and - rather bluntly - explain the situation.
So this tower was keeping the dragons at rookie, and they wanted help taking it out. After hearing his request, Luke shot a glance towards Iko. "Well?"
"Fine," Iko started. "If you can get us transport to the Trailmon station afterwards." The Valley of Dragons was tough as is, and favors like this definitely were not in the budget! But, assuming that was agreeable enough, the two would make their way to the entrance of the valley - unknown to them, there was a second group currently around Marshal's crash site, out of view or notice of the pair for the time being.
Actually, 'coming to the entrance of the valley' more-or-less boiled down to 'follow the Guilmon', as those instructions seemed rather vague! It seemed to put them close enough, though: as they came into view of the Renamon and Wormmon, they would finally see the Tyrannomon off in the distance! And so the goal was rather simply laid-out: defeat the Tyrannomon and destroy the spire.
"Hm... honestly, between the three of us here - " Iko referred to himself, the Guilmon, and the Wormmon, "-Only you really have the blasting power to really damage the tower, Guilmon. So really, this would amount to the three of us distracting the Tyrannomon while you try and destroy the tower."
"Though... seems possible?" Luke looked towards the other two. Provided they were all at least quick on their feet, it would certainly be doable to draw the Tyrannomon far enough away from the tower!
Well. Maybe. Probably. "Name's Iko, by the way." The squirrel would nod towards K and the Wormmon.

While Wormmon did not see his chain smoking Tamer anywhere, he did see some familiar faces. He was greeted by a Renamon that seems to recognize him. Wormmon takes a moment think which Renamon this was. She lacked Eva's cybernetics. What other Renamon was on their own? "Wait a minute, you're K! Hiya K! What are you doing away from the inn?" The others spoke of a Tyrannomon that was lurking in front of the dark tower. A friendly Guilmon tells him that this strange spire is devolving Digimon in the area down to their Rookie level. Wormmon hadn't noticed any change, as he was already at that stage. He did see a lot of Rookie Digimon around.
Guilmon asks K and Wormmon for help in taking down the tower. They would need to get past the Tyrannomon first. Wormmon had been to the Valley before, and saw many dragons roaming the land. They would certainly make a decent challenge for any younger Digimon who ventured this far into the Digital World. "But, if that big pointy thing is making Digimon go back down to Rookie, why isn't Tyrannomon affected?" Whoever constructed the tower must have made it so the Champion could guard the area. Wormmon is greeted by another Digimon, a squirrel named Iko. He suggests that Guilmon has the firepower to take down the tower, while the others could run a distraction. "Hiya Iko. Yes, a distraction should work. I'll help you guys."
With Wormmon having been all on his own before, he was more than happy to help out. When he asked Guilmon if he had seen someone skinny with blonde hair, he neglected to mention it was a human. Based on his description alone, Dante sounded like a Renamon. The only other Human they had seen had black hair, not blonde. "Hmm, Dante's probably miles away by now. But he would want to help take down the tower too. Still, if we gotta face a Champion when we can't even Digivolve, well I'm not exactly equipped for that fight right now." If Wormmon could digivolve to the King of Sting, Stingmon, their wouldn't be any problem. The Worm King would have to use his skills at hand. Would his webs even hold up against Tyrannomon? At least he was in good company. Wormmon's stomach starts to rumble. "Say, uh, there wouldn't happen to be a mini mart, or a Chicken Hut around here or something? I could use a snack to build up energy for the fight." Wormmon turns to K. "You have to admit, a portable inn right now would come in handy, K. Need... cheeseburgers..."

K wasn't expecting to see a Guilmon approach her, in fact she wasn't even really expecting to see others here or this tower. but that's how life was. You had unexpected things pop up and just make your day change completely. She'd hesitate however when he greeted her, but she'd give him a small smile.
"Hello. I can help you; I have a feeling this is going to be a very uphill fight."
She'd glance at wormmon and shake her head a bit, she had a bad feeling about this. But she'd follow after the Guilmon without hesitation; after all what was she going to do? Say no to this whole ordeal? No. She had to act, even if she had to continue to act she couldn't sit by idly when problems reared their ugly heads.
"I was on vacation Wormmon, rather coming on the end of it after having some... interesting events. occur. I have a feeling that Tyrannomon is connected if it's not affected. But that could be wrong."
She'd glance around as they got to the entry of the valley. Seeing a few individuals that she hadn't met before. She'd rub the back of her neck and spare a small smile to the new individuals there. She'd flick an ear however when iko introduced himself; she'd give a half bow before rubbing the back of her head.
"My name is K. I don't have much in the way of firepower, but I'm fairly certain I can assist against that Tyrannomon. I also have limited healing abilities, so I if someone's injured I can assist them briefly."

(OOC: Alright, our characters seem to be in the same place now, so we can go back to turn order again)
Dracomon tilted his head as the human asked if he was a partner digimon? Had he still been a Coredramon he would have snorted indignantly at such a suggestion. He was a strong independent dragon digimon that didn't need no tamer after all. But having been shaken from his sudden de-digivolution, he didn't have that amount of pride anymore.
"Ah, no, I don't have a partner" he said instead. "That's no problem", he put the smellingsalts back in his small bag. He then pointed his claw to the dark tower. "Yes, that black obelisk there caused your de-digivolution. It's... kind of a problem, and my friend and I are gathering help to try and sort it out".
He turned around, looking to see how Guilmon was going, then saw that the other human he had spoken to had followed him. "Ah!" he yelped, falling over with surprise, but got back up. "Sorry, I didn't expect you" he said. "Also sorry for leaving you, saw these guys crashing" he added, hoping she wasn't too cross at him for "ditching" her.
This was the first time Dracomon had seen humans this close. They were much larger than he expected... although that was probably because he was suddenly a rookie now.
Guilmon was glad that the other human with the small mammal digimon seemed willing to help. "Okay, that's no problem! I know where the Trailmon station is" he said.
Guilmon nodded enthusiastically when Iko said his plan. "Yes, if I can get up close, I can probably use my Rock Breaker attack to break it down, or my Pyro Sphere to try and blow a hole. But I can't do it with a Tyrannomon chasing me though".
It seemed they were all together now. Guilmon would lead the others toward Dracomon's group so the two dragons could speak to them all without repeating themselves. The Wormmon then asked why the Tyrannomon was able to stay as a champion.
"That's... a good question" Guilmon said, looking over at him. There seemed to be a black collar around his neck, and his eyes appeared to be glowing red. That wasn't normally something that was good... unless the eyes were naturally red like a Veemon's or Coredramon's. "Maybe it's got something to do with that black collar?" he suggested.
Then Wormmon asked if they could at least get food. Guilmon looked sympathetic. "I tell you what, if you help take down this tower, Dracomon and I will buy you all some food, how does that sound?" he offered.
Dracomon then realized that they hadn't even introduced themselves. He had been in a bit of a panic about the tower after all. "Oh, right, I forgot. Hi, my name's Coredr- I mean... Dracomon, and this is my friend Grow- I mean, Guilmon" he introduced them. "And yeah, we'd be most grateful if you could help us" he bowed slightly, remembering being told that humans liked being addressed like that.

Marshal and Coronamon were both still taking a moment to get their bearings. As they slowly got up and about, they noticed a few other assorted Tamers and Digimon gathering. The only familiar face he truly recognized was that of Luke Destro. He seemed to be with a small, squirrel Digimon. After a moment of thought, he realized that it must have been Iko in his Rookie form. Neither of them had seen the form before.
"Hey, Luke!" Marshal greeted pleasantly. He would look a bit different from the last time the two had met. His hair, instead of being entirely brown, had a few stripes of orange running through it. His eyes were an even brighter green than before, and he was a few inches taller. This was due to his completed Biomerge with Coronamon after the battle at the Everfalls.
Coronamon stared down Iko, thinking back to their first meeting. He had been a bit quick-tempered and irrational, and now that so much had happened, he felt a little weird about it. "Hey," he said flatly. If they had met again earlier, he probably would've bragged about how much stronger he and Marshal had gotten, but this probably wasn't the time.
The Dracomon that had revived the two of them asked to help with a strange structure that appeared to be jamming the ability to Digivolve. The fact that they wouldn't be able to reach Champion didn't bode well for their chances against an aggressive Tyrannomon, but they were kind of stuck for the time being. "You can count on us, Dracomon!" Marshal agreed.

The brunette had to admit, this was getting weirder by the second. Much of her own doubts weren't getting answers, and the strange tug she felt on her chest almost compelled her to charge against the giant red lizard, wrestle him down and go where she was supposed to be.
Where was she supposed to be, though? Heck if she knew. Right now, the only undeniable fact was that she wasn't meant to be at this place at this time. And she felt the need to fix that, even if those answers eluded her.
Trying to make sense out of this was hard, but Amelie figured she had to stay on the top of her game if she wanted to get out of this place alive, and hopefully back to the relative comfort of the human world. And the key to achieving that seemed to rest within the small, alien lizards of fun colors that for some reason began to bow at them. So, after taking in a deep breath, she spoke again.
With any luck, she wouldn't be ignored this time. "Count with me. What do I have to do?" She finally managed to ask, resolve welling up. "Big red lizard looks dangerous, and I guess whatever's happening is related to that dark spire-thing?"
