That was the spirit! Mana was really glad that Elliot was beginning to see this whole situation in a new light. A light that she considered way better than the previous, honestly! Right now, he behaved with more maturely than before, and that could only be a good sign.
Looking at somebody whose personality was growing in front of her very eyes was a little moving, in all honesty. Even if... maybe she was showing too much enthusiasm about this? Yeahhh, that probably was the case. Guess it was just her nature, behave as if nothing at all had happened and just jump into the next adventure.
She smiled a bit nervously before rectifying. "Sorry, sorry! I may have gotten a bit hyped up." After all, the only thing she wanted to do was to help, even though she probably came off too strongly about it. "Take your time, okay? And when you're ready, if you feel like it, you can give me a call or a text or whatever! Chances are I'll be there asap." Suzuran's reaction to the words that followed suit was a somewhat amused laugh.
"As bold as that claim is, I do not need your permission, or even your consent to end that barbarian's existence. The fact that he is still alive is equal parts whim and convenience. You will do well to remember that."
It was obvious at this point that there was little to not overlap between the moral values that both beings held, and further discussing them would probably be a colossal waste of time. Instead, they just followed their small outing.
Both faeries levitated near the angel as he advanced, their direction being the westward. To say the least, how the HolyAngemon flew was liberating, in a sense; it reminded her to something... she didn't really know about. Maybe a long-forgotten memory that just refused to come back.
For as long as it lasted, anyway. The sight of the stalagmites brought the attention not only of the faeries, but of the redhead as well. "Maybe we shoooould check that out." Yup, it was so obvious they had thought about the very same thing. "Sounds like a plan. Just... be careful. Who knows what we're gonna find, or if there are more meanies lurking nearby."
After all, the Valley wasn't known to be the safest of places. And dragon's could be sore losers at times; who knew what could be there, waiting for them.

Elliot giggled a little at Mana's sudden nervous smile. It was kind of adorable, even if Elliot hadn't meant to make Mana feel self conscious about her eagerness to adventure. "Hey, don't worry about it," he said, the smile on his face rather easygoing now. "It means a lot that you wanted to support me so much. Thank you." He pulled Mana in for one more hug, this one far less shaky than the past few. At this point he was feeling way too good for his doubts to keep eating away at him. This was the turnaround. He knew it!
"Give me, like, a week or so, okay?" he said after pulling away. "I should be more than ready by then. And you'll be the first person to know, I promise." With how Elliot was feeling? Promises like that weren't given lightly. He might as well had scheduled a date and time, too!
~~~~
Surprisingly enough, Elliot gave an amused laugh in response too. However, even by MagnaAngemon's usual standards, his features were almost frozen from how stoic he looked. "I have only killed once before since coming to the Digital World," he admitted. It was hard not to shudder at the memory of the Paratice Head clawing at its own windpipe, trying to "breathe" after being disconnected from the Reaper's core. The only thing that horrified him more than the sight was the fact that he felt relief rather than disgust. That, more than anything, was what convinced him that he needed to step back from the Digital World. "It is not an experience I ever wish to repeat. However, you are right. I have no say over what you choose to do or not do, and you know the laws of this world far more intimately than I do."
He paused a bit, looking at the group's shadows as they zoomed over the sands. "You also saved my life, so I owe you far more than just the benefit of the doubt," he added. It wasn't an easy conclusion to come to, but Elliot knew even a situation like this required compromise. It would be unfair to demand otherwise.
At Mana's request to be careful, Elliot nodded. Then he started to touch down, landing just as slowly and gently as he had taken off. From there, he was able to see that the rock formation was a good deal taller than it had originally seemed. While it looked rather small from a bird's eye view, now each of the stole talons towered over Elliot. They also seemed somewhat bent compared to what Elliot expected, as if they were tightly clutching an object. That object quickly made its identity known; a small, sandstone building, about the size of a garage. A border of darker brown stone indicated the frame of where a door was present, but the door itself seemed to be made of the same solid sandstone as the rest of the building. It was perfectly square in shape, and while many cracks lined its withered surface it seemed to be in no danger of cracking.
Neither were the stone talons, come to think of it, and they had literally cracked apart already! Chunks of broken stone quite literally hung in the air, floating around the tips of the talons. The wind had stopped blowing in entirety, the light seemed to stop beating so harshly down upon the desert, and there were no more ambient noises of Digital life echoing through the air. Only a perfect stillness surrounded this building.
Elliot shuddered a little. "This must be the right place," he said. "But . . . what sort of spirit would even be here?"
Even amid her occasional screwups, at least Elliot had been understanding enough to take her eagerness as intentions to help and not just her being pushy. A small victory, indeed!
And a colossal amount of relief, honestly. "Y-you don't have to thank me." What could she say; she had been taken by surprise by the sudden gesture. That wasn't a lot like elliot, but she couldn't say she minded the gesture.
In the end, she just smiled and nodded after he pulled away. "Take your time. It isn't like I'll go anywhere or have grand plans in mind. Unless I like, lose my memory again or something of the like."
She giggled innocently at the last remark. That wasn't gonna happen, right? At least thus human had some guts, Suzuran had to admit. The fairy wasn't impressed, but at least could begin to guess why her human had chosen him as one of her companions.
"Save the tale of your life and convictions for later. Not interested on it at the moment nor for the foreseeable future." Maybe that'd get the point across? She wasn't here to chit-chat, make friends nor form bonds. She was here just at the request of her human and sister; nothing more and nothing less.
Once they have reached the formation, the girl couldn't but marvel at the unplausibility of what was in front of them. She knew that this was the Digital World and that pretty much everything was possible. But that didn't make this any less amazing.
A simple question brought her back to reality, though. "Well, given it's the valley of Dragons... I'd say it's something with wings. And probably pretty big talons. There's something I don't understand, though." She made a small pause, making sure to look around her first before continuing. "Aren't these things supposedly guarded or something? This place looks... relatively abandoned."
"Maybe. But I want to thank you," Elliot said. Even after his maturing, Elliot could still be very matter-of-fact when push came to shove. "You didn't give up on me, even when I was giving you all the reason in the world to do so. And when it feels like so many people are trying to just drag me into the Digital World and get me chasing Isaac before I'm ready, you're at least giving me the space to recover. It really means a lot to me, you know." Mana really had a way of brightening Elliot's day. He wished he had taken more time to show her how much he appreciated that.
Elliot laughed a little at Mana talking about her memory. "Well, if you do, I'll be right here to help you get it back again," Elliot said. His tone was joking and light, but there was a genuine spark in his eyes. It was clear that now that he was done hiding, he'd be there for anything that Mana needed from him. "If you'd let me, of course." ~~~~
Elliot nodded at Suzuran's rather standoffish attitude towards him. "A fair opinion," he said. "Do not worry. I will not trouble you with more philosophical debates, if you wish." Elliot didn't exactly want to hear the merits of dog-eat-dog killing, either. Suzuran was her way, Elliot was his way, and that was okay. Still, Suzuran's way kept Mana nice and safe, so Elliot couldn't be entirely opposed to it.
The spirit in the Valley of Dragons was probably a dragon. That made sense. Sure, Elliot found Gargoylemon in an undercity of filth beneath Terminus, but that could have had a perfectly valid explanation behind it. Although, were spirits often guarded? "Usually by circumstance, Elliot said, letting out a slight sigh as he thought. "Isaac and I's spirits tend to aggregate in areas of great order or chaos. Oftentimes, this means that they appear in the shadow of great conflicts. However, sometimes they settle in ancient tombs that have gone untouched for years. I feel this may be the latter."
Sure enough, as Elliot walked up to examine the door, he found that it was little more than a sealed slab of stone. He gave it a brief, heavy tap, then tried to slide it from slide to side, but it seemed quite literally frozen. It didn't even quiver to his touch. "I fear this door may be sealed shut," Elliot said. "Do you have any ideas?"
For a moment, Mana's mind scrambled for a fitting answer to what Elliot had to say. This talking thing was so hard, honestlyyy. Not to say, that in the end she just wanted to make herself helpful. How to say that without sounding like a simpleton, though...
"In their defense, I guess they ultimately care about you two." It wasn't like their motivations were in the wrong place, it was just that the method wasn't the best, as she had found out moments before. Twiddling her thumbs, she gazed at him while feeling a quota of guilt. "It's not like I didn't get a little too excited at that, honestly. Buuut."
After all, despite any and all the help the boy might've gotten, it was still his quest to search for his brother. How to go about it should be his choice, entirely. "How you go about it is ultimately your choice, though. And... no matter what you decide, know that I'll be there in case you need anything."
Probably corny beyond belief, but that was genuinely how she felt. The remark that followed made her raise an eyebrow, however.
"Why wouldn't I let you, though? I'm already counting on you if anything like that happens!"
Her tone matched his, even though that didn't make those words any less true. Suzuran just gave a slight nod to the human; she wasn't here to chat, and unless absolutely necessary, preferred to just not. The fact that he understood that was at least an indication that he wasn't hopeless like many other hairless monkeys she had met; that much was a somewhat decent sign.
That wasn't important at the moment, though; what mattered was getting the totem Elliot had been searching in this place, and in order to do that... they had to open a door without knowing what was exactly inside. For a moment, Mana adopted a pensive expression before offering what... seemed like the obvious answers to the problem at hand.
"This place looks a little creepy." She couldn't but add before proposing her ideas. "And... well. Our chances at the moment are probably just smashing it open or using a digivice to make it behave? Those two seem to be the most reliable ideas at the moment. What on your side? Any ideas?"
Lazily, she'd run her fingers through the locked entrance. How solid was this wall? That'd be a good indication of the craftsmanship and the quality of what was inside. If not solid enough, this would be too easy.
Mana had a good point. It may have been a lot of stress for everyone, but it wasn't like Elliot's friends were trying to hurt him. Some of them were a little overbearing. Alicia, for example, damn near got the cops called on herself and got Elliot's mom dragged into understanding way more of the Digital World than she ever needed to. It didn't change the fact that Alicia just wanted to find out why Elliot was in such a funk, though, and it was important to always be mindful of that fact. "You're right," Elliot said, sighing softly. "I mean, I wish I knew how to better tell them they were hurting me without just losing my nerve. But I think I'm finding out how to get better about it."
That said, if Alicia had twiddled her thumbs nervously instead of almost picking a fight with his mom, Elliot might have forgiven her more quickly. Elliot found the slightest blush creeping up his face just from how adorable Mana looked right now, and rather than let her twiddle away he gently put a hand on her shoulder. "C'mon, you don't gotta worry about that," Elliot said. "You're too sweet and thoughtful to get me upset like that. I promise."
Each word out of Mana's mouth was just proving Elliot's point more. "That really means a lot to know," he said, the relief in his smile downright palpable. "Honestly? If I have you backing me up, I think it'll all be okay."
Mana seemed to think the same, judging by how she was already counting on Elliot to bring her memory back again. "Think if it happens again, you'll choose the name I suggest for you?" Elliot joked, a teasing grin on his face. He let it hang just enough for Mana to possibly think he was serious, then laughed it off. "Ah, I'm just kidding. Mana's way too nice of a name to change."
~~~~
Smashing, or the Digivice. Interesting ideas. Maybe it was Elliot's more pacifistic form, but he figured the latter would be a better starting point than the former. He held out his hand, focusing until data in his palm reconfigured back into his Digivice. "I think I'll trust you on this one," Elliot aiming his Digivice at the wall. Nothing happened, and for a second there was the hilarious sight of a large, majestic looking angel fumbling with a Tamagotchi.
Thankfully, Elliot had quickly found the right button on his Digivice. A small light spilled forth from the device, which didn't look very impressive in the harsh sunlight of the desert. However, it was clear that the Digivice had some sort of effect. The air that was once completely still was now filling back up with small grains of shifting sand. It was such a subtle effect as to be almost unnoticeable, but as soon as Elliot turned the light away all of the movement stopped. It was as if the world was stopping and starting right before Elliot and Mana's eyes.
Soon, Elliot had brought the Digivice's light onto the door. It wasn't actually moving still,, but when Elliot put a hand to it again he found the stone panel starting to slide away. "Huh," Elliot said as he watched the door part, a set of sandstone stairs climbing down into a yawning chasm. A few torches filled the sconces set up around the stairway, but unfortunately they were all burned beyond usefulness. Digivices, for the time being, would be the group's only form of light. A stone face, shaped like the head of a dragon, leered down at the duo from the top of the roof. Beyond that, the room was quite bare.
Elliot turned to Mana, trying to hide that he was swallowing a little from nerves. "I'll take the lead," he said, the slightest hint of worry in his voice. "With how dark it is, we should keep close."

Well, at least no permanent damage was done! That was a huge relief for Mana, who seemed to be more than a little nervous at the situation. How to treat somebody who was going for something genuinely hard without falling in one of those undesirable extremes? She didn't for him to believe she didn't care at all, or to smother him in worry, while at it.
Jeez, while dealing with this kind of situations was so difficult... "I guess it's a bit hard for everyone involved, you know? I can understand why anybody would want to see you better, and why they'd get frustrated after their best efforts at it failed. I know both you and Isaac are the focus of what's happening, buuut. I guess everyone has their feelings about what's currently happening too. And no matter why, getting rid of those is mighty difficult."
That pat on her shoulder served to make her calm down greatly, though. This wasn't going to be an easy journey, buuuuuut... she was confident on their chances of being successful. After all, was there really anything they could be afraid of?
"I'm glad." The tender moment rapidly dissolved into a small bout of teasing, but it wasn't like the girl minded. In fact, she could almost say that it was about time. "Your name isn't half bad either, even if a little hard to pronounce." Alright! It seemed that being relatively savvy on how this kind of stuff worked paid off. Mana was elated at her suggestion working, and proceeded to smile at the sight of a door opening after Elliot's efforts.
Stairs, huh? It seemed dungeon-y enough. "Alright. Just... don't overdo it, okay? I'll be watching in the rear in case anything happens."
After Elliot, Suzuran, then Mana then Ayaka would come in; it was a good formation as any, she guessed; with any luck, they wouldn't find any traps or something of the style, even though that seemed to be highly unlikely.
Oh well, at least she could hope to get done with this small quest soon-ish. Being inside of what looked like a mausoleum wasn't very fun.

Much like she had been earlier, Mana was completely correct. As much as Elliot had been hurt, he couldn't just let his feelings override the hurt of others. They only got on his case so much because of how deeply they cared for him and Isaac, after all. He sighed as he listened to Mana's words. "Yeah. I just need to keep being mindful," Elliot said. "I mean, if I only focused on how I felt, then I'd have no room to talk, right?"
He paused a little. "I really appreciate you telling me, by the way," Elliot said. "It's a lot better than just telling me what I would've liked to hear." Elliot's experience really had matured him a lot, hadn't it? Maybe, despite everything, this would be a good experience in the end.
That said, he wasn't too mature for a bit of teasing. A cheeky smirk spread across Elliot's face as Mana mentioned his name. "That's okay," Elliot said, voice mirthful. "You'll have plenty of time to practice once we start hanging out more." That sounded less like an if and more like a when. Elliot had solidly come out of his funk, and now that all was said and done he felt ready to give his friends the care and attention that they deserved.
~~~~
Fortunately for Mana, there didn't seem to be too many traps set up in this room. In fact, the whole thing seemed little more like a giant staircase. Some of the steps were eroded and worn down by the sands of time, crunching slightly under Mana and Elliot's feet, but all things considered the staircase was surprisingly sturdy for its age. As Elliot traveled down the stairs he primarily aimed his Digivice down so that he could properly keep track of them. However, this also illuminated the walls ever so slightly. They were made of the same rough sandstone as the building's exterior, but faintly visible on each wall chips of paint. They seemed to be from murals drawn up sometime in the distant past, but by this point they had eroded to nothingness. Only occasional streaks remained, generally flashes of red, blue, green, or white in indistinguishable patterns.
After what felt like five minutes, the staircase finally came to a halt. The room that it spilled out into looked far larger than the humble temple that Mana and Elliot entered into, almost four times its size. Unlike the rest of the building thus far the room was not empty, instead filled with strange, kneeling statues of dragons. They all appeared to be the same type of draconic Digimon (X), except for the scale color. Some were green, some were blue, and some were red, the colors distributed with seemingly no rhyme or reason.
Perhaps they weren't statues, though. As Elliot shined his Digivice's light on all of them, they stopped their silent vigil to turn their attentions towards him. For the most part they simply turned their heads as Elliot's light passed over them, glaring at the MagnaAngemon but doing little else. As soon as they were out of the light they froze once more, holding their glares yet never blinking. However, as Elliot held his Digivice over one to examine it, he found that it was far less content to simply sit there and let Elliot watch. It slowly rose from its kneeling position, snarling under its breath as it flared its claws out. Before Elliot even knew how to react it lunged at him, its letting out a vicious hiss. In a panic, Elliot turned away to dodge.
That was when the dragon stopped in mid-pounce, as if it had been frozen all of a sudden. Its feet had left the air, and its face was frozen in fury, but it wasn't moving even an inch. How odd.
The only other thing of note in this room were the doors. There were three of them in this room, each made of stone and large enough to stretch all the way towards the ceiling. Each of these stone doors had a worn carving on the front, now little more than a silhouette of what it was supposed to depict. On the westernmost door was a depiction of the moon. On the northernmost door was a depiction of the sun. Finally, on the easternmost door was a depiction of a planet, presumably the Digital World.
Elliot cast a nervous glance at Mana as he looked at these various ominous sightings. "I would say we probably shouldn't touch anything, but I doubt we will have much luck investigating if we didn't," he admitted.
Her comments being seen in a positive light were enough to make her feel a quota of relief. That much was pretty obvious. At least they could leave that tricky topic behind; in all honesty, the redhead felt glad she could navigate through it without injuring her friend too much.
In the end, she couldn't but smile at his last remark. In all honesty, she really really glad to hear that. "We'll see, then! With any luck, that double L will stop sounding so awkward every time I pronounce it!" The journey below had been... interesting, thus far.
Their next destination was interesting, Mana recognizing those dragons from somewhere, even though she didn't expect their sudden reactions. She flinched and reeled at it, managing to calm down as soon as they proved they weren't up to harm Elliot. Or at least that they weren't after the light stopped shining on them.
"Well. This place is really strange." Stating the obvious, but that didn't make it any less true. Going through the room, it was true that there wasn't much to see, and that resulted in her gaze going directly to the doors, the logical question being asked right afterward. "So... guess we're going through one of those?"
If they wanted to find something, the answer was a pretty resounding yes. "Which one do you wanna check first? They all seem to be pretty... cryptic."
Elliot blinked a little as he listened to Mana's concern. Was that really what she was worried about with his name? He couldn't say that he noticed anything wrong with how Mana said his name, especially not there. He smiled warmly at Mana as she said her concerns. "Can't say I find it any awkward," Elliot said. "In fact, I wouldn't worry about it. It's actually kinda cute!"
Of course, that made for a wonderful line to leave off on. Elliot's phone started to vibrate a little in his pocket, prompting Elliot to blush a little. "Oh! Sorry, Mana, but I think I have to run home now," he said. "Mom's probably getting a bit antsy. Which, I can't blame her for, considering." Elliot had made a point of getting home in a timely fashion after what happened to Isaac, and really who could blame him? "I'll see you soon, okay?" With that said he waved a cheerful goodbye, starting to make his way home.
~~~~
Cryptic indeed. There was really nothing to these doors besides the heavily worn symbols on them. If they were part of a code or anything, the instructions were probably eroded down to nothing. Nevertheless, Elliot was a lot more conservative with his Digivice now, not wanting to aim it towards a Coredramon and end up setting off its aggression again. It was difficult when his only source of light was also his biggest trap.
Maybe for that reason, light was especially important to navigating here? Elliot cast his gaze to the sun door, shining his Digivice on it. It looked like the widest of the three doors by a fairly hefty margin, and its position directly opposite of the staircase made it seem all the more important. "I think that this door will be important, if nothing else," he said. "Maybe we should go here first."
He made his way over the door, keeping his wings pressed firmly against his back and his profile as small as possible. There was no chance in hell he was bumping into any Coredramon in the darkness. Soon he had made his way over, and with a gentle touch managed to get the door sliding open.
Perhaps Elliot had made a mistake, though. There wasn't anything on the other side of the door. A yawning chasm stretched as far as the eye could see, looking almost like someone had torn whatever room was supposed to be here out of existence. Several of the walls were already in a state of crumbling, leaving cascades of stone frozen in mid-avalanche. Beyond this, there was almost nothing. "Hello?" Elliot asked, only the bounding echoes of the room greeting him.
Beyond this, there was only one thing visible. A tiny pinprick of light, looking almost like a dot of yellow paint on a black, inky canvas, sat at the bottom of the room. It cast a few feeble rays upwards, but the darkness swallowed them up before they could even start climbing out of the chasm. It only further confirmed Elliot's suspicions that this chasm was massive.
Elliot swallowed a little nervously. "Do you think this is worth exploring? Or should we check our other options first?" he asked.

He was at it again, wasn't he? An almost imperceptible pink hue began to show on the girl's cheeks as Elliot called her pronunciation cute, even if... it didn't go too far from that.
Oh, yeah. Real life and stuff; she didn't know a lot about her friend's home life, but after what happened to Isaac, she couldn't blame a parent for worrying about their children. "Don't worry. It's fine." The redhead nodded, understandingly. "Guess I'll catch you later. Have a nice day~."
Waving him goodbye, the girl began to make her way towards her own home. It was probably the most fitting way to end the day, and it wasn't like Mana could really complain about it; in comparison to how everything had been thus far, this had been pretty much a silver lining. Given that the mere act of using a digivice was dangerous now, what was left to do in this situation? Mana wasn't exactly the best at puzzles, and this one seemed to be a pretty difficult one. She began to think...
What Elliot said was probably true; Sun Door seemed to be the most important of the bunch by far, but that probably meant they had to visit it later. Or maybe not; for now, she was comfortable with following Elliot's lead. It was his spirit, after all.
"Alright, let's go." Once again, Ayaka and Suzuran followed as they ventured into the darkness, except that this time... they didn't find anything? At least at first. "Huh..." Well, that was certainly something she hadn't expected.
The small light at the distance was something that came some time afterward. Hmmm; could that one be the spirit? Maybe, maybe not. "I'mmm not sure, honestly. That thing in the distance could be anything. But I think that there has to be a catch or something. I... guess it couldn't hurt to give a peek at the other doors before settling on one? That might help us decide, and there doesn't seem to be anything that's forcing us to choose right now."
Probably the most lukewarm and cautious decision, but the truth was that there was nothing to lose at inspecting what was behind the other doors, at least on the surface before settling with one.

There really wasn't much pressure to pick now, huh? The Coredramon only moved when the light was shined on them, after all. Even now, the room behind Mana and Elliot was eerily silent due to their presence. There was no moving. There was no snarling. There wasn't even any breathing. It almost made Elliot believe the chamber had emptied, if not for the fact that when he turned around he still could faintly see them kneeling in the shadows. "Good idea," Elliot said. "Just in case, though, we should keep close. These Digimon may be dormant, but if they wake up . . ." There were a lot of Coredramon, and only three Digimon on Team Mana right now. It wouldn't be a fun fight.
Fortunately, the other two doors were equally able to be opened without incident. First came the moon door. Immediately Elliot's Digivice caught the water that filled most of this room, which rippled gently as Elliot focused his light against it. It went back to remaining stagnant the second that Elliot moved the light away, but the ripples seemed to follow wherever he was aiming at. The rest of the room was basically a narrow bridge, made from worn looking planks and frayed rope. It, too, started to sway back and forth against the ripples of the water, only to freeze in mid-sway when Elliot aimed his Digivice away from it. The bridge lead to what looked like a small stone platform on the other side of the room, atop which seemed to be a small, silver glimmer.
Then came the last door, the "earth" door for lack of a better term. Unlike the other two rooms, which were very wide and open, this room pretty much immediately cut off. As Elliot aimed his Digivice to inspect the area, he could see why. Most of the room was taken up by a large mountain, small handholds and footholds protruding from it. The mountain itself was somewhat worn and cracked, but it at the very least it looked more stable than the rickety bridge and gaping pit in the other rooms. At the very tip of the mountain was a large brazier, completely bare of any sort of kindling.
Elliot turned to Mana. "Which would you prefer?" he asked, looking around at their three options.

If anything, Elliot still seemed to be a little iffy about this place, something that was... pretty understandable, honestly. The fact that what used to be a statue lashed out at him out of the blue and apparently without something prompting it had been surprising and a little scary, in all honesty.
But, it was something that was just related to his digivice, right? As long as he didn't resort to it, they would be fine. Or at least that was what she wanted to believe. After a quick nod to Elliot's suggestion, she made sure to not to get too far away as they kept exploring the strange ruin/temple/mausoleum.
In all honesty, what was this, exactly? Sides the resting place of one of Elliot's spirits, presumably. Maybe they would find out as their journey through this place went on. If anything, the other two rooms had been interesting in their own right; either a bridge that didn't seem to be all that trustworthy that was suspended over a pretty big body of water or... a pretty big rock that had to be climbed on.
And choosing was her responsibility, huh... as soon as the question was asked to the redhead, she began to think; which one seemed to safest? Would combat be involved in that unlikely dungeon? Or was something else waiting for them?
"Well.." In all honesty, she wasn't all that sure. Gazing quickly at her partners, and getting not much in return, she resorted to the only method that she knew would be completely fair.
Of course, that implied choosing at random. "The climbable rock seems like the safer bet, for now? I'm not sure if you agree with that, though but... there's so much that happen there. I think."
This place seemed to be full of surprises, and Mana was probably understimating it.

"Heh. If I was in my human form, I would probably disagree," Elliot said. A bad leg and a giant mountain would've been a horrible combo. Thankfully, instead Elliot was in a form that had both legs and could fly. All things considered, it was a really good combo! Elliot ran his Digivice's light over the mountain to try and see what was going on, but as far as he could tell it was just a big old rock. Was there seriously nothing? No traps, no rolling boulders, not even a trail to climb on?
It was looking quite suspect. Elliot spread his wings aloft, holding his Digivice high. Unfortunately, when he went to try and fly, he noticed that his wings seemed to be beating against nothing. He tried a few more times, but no matter what he just couldn't seem to get a sense of lift. "No skipping around this," he said, morosely. "It is almost as if there aren't even any air currents to push against. Guess we should do this the old fashioned way."
Elliot sighed, and then took the first climbing hold in his hand. MagnaAngemon wasn't the physically strongest form, but he was certainly able of body. This shouldn't be too bad. He started winding his way up the path, holding the strap of his Digivice between his teeth so that he could at least illuminate the path. Maybe if he just took it slowly and patiently, this wouldn't be so bad.
Then a massive green claw erupted from the side of the mountain, barely missing Elliot. The red tips of the claw were practically the size of Elliot's arms, and the hand attached was bigger than his body. He felt a vibration on the mountainside, his only signal to jump out of the way before another claw came smashing into him. He barely caught onto the next level of handholds, panting heavily as he looked down at the source.
The claws pulled back, leaving large holes in the mountain where they once were. A blood red eye peered through the hole, looking towards Elliot and Mana suspiciously. "Why have you come to my sanctum?" it demanded, the booming of his voice forceful enough to shake the very foundation of the mountain.

Mana's reaction to Elliot's unexpected joke was to widen her eyes at first, then to smile a bit mischievously as she followed behind.
"Oh, you." The redhead simply said. Getting through the small mountain wouldn't be super hard, would it? She knew for sure that she was fit enough to get her hands a little dirty on this small venture. And if anything bad happened, she could always count on Elliot and her partners. No risk at all, right?
The fact that the HolyAngemon couldn't fly was a little unsettling, but more or less expected. These types of quests, they always refused to be solved easily. Still... it didn't look to be that hard, but that was probably because that'd come in later... right?
Or maybe it would sooner than expected. To say she was surprised at the giant claw erupting from seemingly nowhere at lashing at them was probably the understatement of the year. What was inside was probably gigantic, and it didn't seem very happy with their intromission. Well...
This was a question that would probably be better answered by Elliot. After all, he was the one he truly understood the reason why they were here. Not to say that if Mana opened her mouth, the chances for her to screw up were... moderate, and that was a conservative estimate.
What would happen next? Better be ready in case worst came to worst. Both Ayaka and Suzuran seemed to be somewhat calm at the development, but the redhead knew they were already getting ready in case they had to fight or... try to escape from whatever was in front of them.
