@tag 1489 MOVES USED MOVES USED MOVES USED MOVES USED Mihai stretched as he walked into the living room. The clock reading four twenty-seven and the sun not even beginning to rise yet. His gaze followed the eerie glow of a screen to his younger half-brother. Thirteen and always on one of the devices around the apartment. Right now it was a tablet so he could sit sideways in an armchair.
"You got school in a few hours,"Mihai said going to their small kitchen and grabbing the food for breakfast. A grunt of a reply followed along with a sigh.
"I know,"he muttered and finally put down the device and curling into a ball on the couch. Mihai just shook his head and got to work. Breakfast for three including their sister ready to be eaten in mere moments. He cast his glance over the divider to see his brother watching. No doubt the smell of food a good wake up call, he just chuckled in response.
After a moment out came their sister rubbing her eyes and yawning. She sat at the small table on one of the many cushions before placing her head on it. Mihai slid her a plate the moment it was done and she half-ate half slept through the process of eating. He set the second plate on the table and his brother slid on over to the table.
Mihai ate himself while in the kitchen cleaning up the mess. A bite here a soap dish and rinse there. Never in all his years did he think he would have to learn to cook and clean. Having come from a wealthy family he had taken the maids for granted because he never knew how hard their job was. They were still wealthy though the conversion tax had taken its toll. He just didn't want to waste it since he was hoping to get them both into college. That alone was an expensive endeavor and so he worked to replace what money they did spend. He wanted to make sure they lived comfortable lives for all the years he was away in the military and unable to protect them.
"Right, I'm off to work," Mihai said drying his hands the clock now reading five thirty. "Don't fall back to sleep." He said kissing the top of her head and simply hugging his brother.
Out the door he went his overcoat to complete his uniform in hand to slip on as he walked. The parking area of the apartments was very small. Since not many owned cars let alone had the desire to drive them. He clicked the keys and lights flashed on a silver sedan. The ride to work was going to as uneventful as it normally was so early in the morning.
It was hard to tell the time exactly with all these buildings. The sky was blue to be sure so it was day she just couldn't tell when or where she was. Why did this have to happen to her? The small round cream-colored ball huffed working up the courage to walk through the large infested streets.
She dodged out her tiny legs working overtime to make up for the height loss. Seriously she stumbles into another world and it sucks her energy so much she reverse evolves. She hated being small again but what she hated more were the tall things around her. 'Aww so cute,' 'I want to pet it,' 'What a cute puppy.' All those hands groping for her had her growling and on edge.
She wasn't a puppy either! She was a full grown labramon and she wouldn't stand for being treated like a kid. She huffed pressing herself into the entryway of a store to rest from weaving through all those feet. Mere moments later a kid started to come up to her.
"Try it and I'll bite your hand off," she growled in a low tone. The kid's eyes went wide and then he went running back to his mother crying. Time to move on. She ran and dodged into the less traveled streets. The smell of garbage hitting her nose as she reluctantly decided to use the path less traveled.
A sound echoed in her ears and she came upon a large dog. It was brown and shaggy as all hell. She wrinkled her nose and moved passed only for it to be on her a moment later. The dog panting and trying to sniff her butt.
"So help me. Respect a woman's privacy damn it,"She growled and swatted at him before running for it. The dog followed her till she was back out on the busy main streets leaving her to sigh.
She trotted along the street having lost steam. She didn't even care about the awws she heard anymore. She just wanted to leave this place full of rude people. She stopped sharply as a pair of legs came into view in front of her. She tried to go around, they followed and she finally looked up at the young man.
"It's cute," the guy beside him said.
"Yeah I bet my sister would love this," said the one blocking her and not letting her past. "Here puppy, puppy." He reached down with both hands and she wasn't having any of that.
She snapped at one hearing him yelp in surprise and then she bolted hearing them yell after her. Then came the sound of footsteps. She couldn't outrun them on such small legs so when she saw some doors open she dashed in right behind a man in a suit. Her small body hiding her under one of the many chairs. She looked out onto the street watching the boys peek in a moment before continuing. She'd lost them.
Mihai smiled and nodded at the man who'd just entered. He swiped his card and continued back. What he found most interesting though is what had come in behind the man. A small cream streak that went under one of the chairs. He waited a moment before standing eyeing the boys who paused outside then continued on. They had chased something in here. A cat maybe? It was pretty small.
He walked around pausing short of the chairs and knelt down peering under them. Yep definitely cream colored but not a cat. It let out a low growl and he gave a half smile in return. it was scared to be sure.
"It's alright I won't hurt you,"He said offering his hand for it to sniff. He'd always wanted a dog growing up though he was never allowed. He had wanted one of those big dogs that looked like a bear.
What the hell was he doing? She glared at the human and his offered hand. was he trying to get a handshake out of her or something? She wasn't going to shake a strangers hand.
Deciding he waited long enough he reached up and pulled her out. The small form wiggling as he tucked her under his arm. Struggling a bit with her moving form. She was strong for being so little.
"Put me down or you will lose a hand," she yapped.
"You talked," Mihai said soberly his eyes wide as he took her from under his arm and held her straight out. "A toy maybe?" He pondered lifting her up slightly to look for a battery area.
"Perv," she said struggling enough to give her leeway and bite his hand hard. She heard a hiss of pain and she growled. "Muf mi dewn," she said her mouth muffled.
Mihai looked at her with scrunched up eyes and finally walked back to the security room. He closed the door behind him and finally put her down and she finally released him. He drew his hand back sharply examining the bloody marks.
Not what she was wanting. However, he had at least put her down. So she was thankful for that at least as she eyed the closed door. Admittedly she wouldn't be getting anywhere unless she knew where she was needing to go to get back home.
"So you have any idea how to get back to the digital world," she asked the human who looked at her in confusion.
"No, and are you a dog or not,"Mihai asked then started looking for the small med kit under the desk.
"I'm no dog,"she huffed. "I am a labramon....was until I came here. So help me if I am stuck in this form because of this world's laws." She growled looking to the sky.
Labramon? Form? And different worlds? Mihai had to wonder if he was having one of those surreal dreams that felt real but weren't. He simply shook his head as he sat on the floor with her.
"All right tell me your story from the top," Mihai said as he began to clean and bandage his hand. "Let's see if I can help."

Mihai still didn't quite get it all. Although he never really excelled at the technical side of things. Probably because he was raised to be a more physical person to join the military. Still, he had a general idea from her explanation. Which left one big question how did she get here and how do they get her back.
"Well I can't do anything right now," Mihai said rubbing the back of his head. "I am working at the moment." He got up looking at the monitors the buzzer hadn't gone off so no one had entered in the past half hour. However, lunch was coming up and he knew people would be coming and going soon.
"Then let me out of here and I'll do it myself," she huffed not keen to wait for his help.
"You think you'll do any better? You were chased by a dog and teenagers and you don't like people touching you. No matter what you really are you still look like a dog and you'll either be picked up by another person or the pound," he wasn't about to let her go. No matter how one looks at it she was dangerous. His still aching hand proof of that.
Her glare showed her un-amusement at his reasoning. He was right but she didn't have to like it. Also, she had no idea what a pound was but she wasn't about to go there if it would hinder her search. She just wanted to get away from this rude place and back on the ground she knew.
"I got to return to the desk. You can just stay in here and relax for a bit," Mihai said turning almost opening up the door. "Are you hungry any? I can order something for us."
Food, to be honest, she hadn't thought much about it. Just her eagerness to get home and out of this place. With his mentioning it though she started to feel that hole in her belly that said I'm hungry.
"I wouldn't mind something," she said not pleased with the idea of having to rely on him she had little choice anymore. She didn't know where to begin to get food let alone the fact she often hunted for herself. She rarely carried any bits and she wasn't even sure this place took bits.
"Alright I'll give the place down the street a call," Mihai said smiling just slightly. She'd at least stay for a bit to eat. That was a good thing.
He opened the door as he reached into his pocket. Pausing halfway out as his hand touched something other than his phone. He pulled it out unsure how it got there. The device had a screen but it was black and obviously not turned on. As much as he wanted to examine it the more immediate matter took hand. Especially when she came out from the room and sat under the desk.
She wasn't about to stay in a locked room where it would be hard to escape. No way no how. She watched him sigh and put back the thing in his hand fumbling for another one in the opposite pocket. It made her wonder if he didn't trust her either. Befitting since they just met although his lack of trust had her fur on end. In her experience without any trust between two people one often would walk over the other.
She watched him order her ears picking up on his difficulty speaking. It somewhat confused her actually. He had been speaking on language to her and now he was speaking another. The one she heard on those bustling streets. Only his speech was broken and heavily accented.
"Are you not from this place," she asked as he hung up the phone.
"Ah, no I'm not. I come from Romania," Mihai said smiling a bit sadly as he walked over and sat in the chair looking down at her. "My sister wants to draw manga so we came here. The place most manga come from.My brother didn't really mind."
"And you," she questioned. It was obvious he must be having a hard time here with such a hard time speaking.
"I just want to see them happy," Mihai said smiling. His reason for leaving his country was because of them. However, there was no lost feeling for his old home. The place he was abused and the place both his parents died. His father's death was a heavy weight on his conscience more than anything.
"Not an answer," she said unamused.
"I'm the sort of person to think more of others than myself," Mihai said chuckling slight as he rubbed the back of his head. "There's nothing wrong with it."
"Dumb ass," she said flatly earning a surprised look from him. "Being happy through other peoples happiness isn't being happy at all. It's being a leech. I wonder if they worry about your happiness at all in response so you can stop clinging to them."
Mihai frowned at her words. He was far from a leech. He truly was happy with making others happy. He wasn't clinging to his siblings or trying to make their happiness his own. He just wanted to make up for the past and for their father. They were both still young and their world revolved around them. He doubted they worried much for his happiness but now the thought was there and it bugged him slightly.
Click, the sound rang in his ears and his head shot up with a smile. The words good work leaving his lips as the first person heading out to lunch. A few others following behind her.
His sudden smile didn't go unnoticed by the xiaomon. It was all an act and a good one at that. It made her wonder how many people that saw him daily actually knew his name. It was obvious it was just grade A politeness between them all.
"You probably shouldn't talk in front of others," he said once the coast was clear. "Wouldn't want to explain everything ten times over, right?"
"Ugh, fair enough," she said curling up on the floor. Deciding to drop the issue entirely. It was too much trouble and she prayed to Yggdrassil that she wouldn't have to stay here long. The pair waiting for their food in moderate silence as people came and went and he gave his greetings everytime.

Maybe, it was strange that Asher always ended up becoming an errand-boy for his little sister. While he didn't normally think so, his partner made it clear that it was abnormal. "Why can't Pipurr pick up her own stuff?" Scurrying alongside the redheaded man, a notably shorter 'girl' tried (and failed) to match pace. Orange-Blonde hair brushed against her shoulders, attempting to make a few leaps to close the distance.
"I don't know. Something about clubs, and deadlines, and essays," the young man shrugged, refusing to slow down for the girl that was having an obviously hard time keeping up. "I don't hear much when she starts talking about school," he admitted, a little too cheerfully. Sure, Asher absolutely adored his little sister! But, she just never stopped talking about her classes! And, it wasn't even gossip! It was literally going in-depth about essays, books, clubs, and the importance of paying attention in school! If he wanted that, he would stay awake in his own classes!
Now, he raised an eyebrow, noticing the holosuited girl's breathing growing more and more obvious. "Are you having a hard time keeping up?" Duh! "How are you so out of shape in a holosuit, but you run in front of me when you're a cat?"
"Hyooman legs are hard, okay?!" The definitely-not-secretly-a-Feline huffed, puffing her cheeks up. "Can't mew just--" And, before she could finish her request for the teen to stop, she found herself running into his halted body.
Yellow eyes stared down at an address on his phone, not even budging as the girl bumped into him, soon clinging to his arm and panting. "Found it!" Lips curved to a grin, looking down at the girl, "and we didn't even get lost!"
"This time," she wheezed. Though, with the inhale, green eyes widened and tiny body tensed. If her fur was visible, it would be standing on-end! But, instead, the Meicoomon looked like a frightened girl, courtesy of Digital World Technology!
Feeling a death-grip on his arm, Asher tilted his head. "Everything okay?"
Squishing herself tightly to the older teen, she shook her head. "We are nya-t going in there!" The mercenary insisted, trying to pull Asher back from the door. But, with each tug, she found herself being pulled forward! Curses! Asher was bigger, and way more fit than a rookie cat! He was literally just going to drag her along!
Shoes scuffed against pavement, and then squeaky tile floor, as the door went to open. "We only have to get a folder from the front desk, anyway. Come on, it's not like a giant rabbit is going to murder us!" Not funny. Whiskers still was worried Antylamon was going to kill people! Regardless, she stayed latched onto her human's arm, growing progressively more tense as they neared the stranger in charge of greeting people.
"Excuse me," the redhead chimed, providing a warm smile. "My sister said she'd have some paperwork waiting for her at the front desk, for a project. Would that be here, or...?"

Time passed a little slowly as they waited and finally the food was delivered. The thing was she suddenly wasn't that hungry anymore. A prickling feeling was on the nape of her neck. It was faint though and she couldn't place the reason for it. With her food in front of her she impatiently waited for the feeling to pass. It didn't it only grew stronger.
Mihai looked up at the door putting on his best smile. The boy was a young and holding onto him was an even younger girl who looked actually a bit frightened. Which was curious to him and had him thinking she was just shy.
"A folder hmm," Mihai looked about the desk finding one with a sticky note. A young girl had called about getting information about what they do if he remembered right. Which was pharmaceuticals, it was oddly a more intense business than he had imagined. "A Miss Callum," he said questioningly grabbing the folder to hand over to the boy.
Okay, something was off. The xiaomon could smell it but the question was why couldn't he see it. She moved around the counter easily since his attention was on the boy. Her nose working overtime as she looked at the boy and girl. She smelled a digimon there was no doubt in her mind.
"Something's fishy," she growled lightly. Her tone catching his attention.
Didn't he just tell her not to speak in front of people? Mihai gave an apologetic look to them hoping they wouldn't freak out. He really had no way to explain a talking dog. Let alone one from another world. He set the folder on the upper portion for the boy to grab and walked around to try and control the situation a bit more.
"Touch me and you'll be bandaging the other hand," she growled as he moved to grab her. He stopped reaching up to scratch his head chuckling slightly and nervously.
"Um, so technology has come a long way huh," he said trying to play her off as a robotic dog. It was a very weak excuse even he knew it as he said it.

At eighteen, Asher wouldn't consider himself too terribly young. But, to someone in their twenties, it would probably make sense. The redhead, himself, was terrible with age, so he didn't even think about tacking an age to the other man's appearance. The girl with him, however, definitely looked young. Since 'meeting' Whisker's alter-ego, he had debated extensively on how old she looked. Was she about Piper's age? Fifteen? Or, younger? It was really hard to figure out, considering a holosuit really didn't have an age stamped on it!
Smile widened, at the name on the folder. "That'd be the one," he confirmed with a nod. "She wanted to come, herself, but she's been wrapped up in some club activity lately." Which club was it, again? Piper had overextended herself with all of the things she was a part of! But, the school had allowed it, so Miss Overachiever was going to do it!
Whiskers wasn't paying attention to the men talking, however. Because both a smell, and soon a voice, had been drawing her focus the entire time! "H-Hey! Cat puns are! My! Line!" The holosuited Meicoomon squeaked, a combination of fury and terror, while beginning to wrap herself behind Asher. He was going to be her shield, even from someone making 'fishy' puns! Though, it probably wasn't intentional, Whiskers was going to take personal offense to that!
"Whi-- Lottie." Right. Whiskers went by Lottie when pretending to be a person. Because cat names really didn't work for humans. "What are you--" Oh.
Now that the situation had presented itself, Asher momentarily forgot about the folder, looking down to the strange dog. Mouth opened, while one hand reached up to pinch the bridge of his nose. Exhale. "You're kidding me. You're afraid of dogs." Seriously? A cat afraid of dogs. How stereotypical!
"I'm not kitten anyone!" Kitten. Kidding. Get it? Ah. Whiskers needed to learn how to speak like a normal person, if she wanted a human name! "I can be afuraid of dogs! They eat cats!" If only Asher knew that she used to even have a canine friend that tried to eat her once or twice! Concern was just! Especially since she couldn't defend herself without the holosuit shorting out! "Don't eat me! I scratch!" This, Asher could confirm. Except, this weird labrador-esque monster looked extremely harmless. Even with threats of biting its human!
But, Asher had to resist laughing at the worker's attempt to diffuse the situation. "That, it has," he confirmed, the corners of his mouth shifting to a grin. "I mean. She's actually a cat," he hummed, placing a hand on top of his mercenary's head. This, of course, warranted a few cat-like swats from the holosuited girl, as she tried to shoo his hand away. Not that it would do anything! "But, that's technology for you. Right?" Hey, Data was still kind of considered technology in some way, wasn't it? They weren't too far off! "Might want to get a collar for it, when it gets bigger, though. Does Shibuya have a leash law?" Well, that was an awfully casual way of going about the subject!

The xiaomon looked unamused by her comment of not eating her. She wasn't going to eat her; hell the thought never crossed her mind. Rather the fact that another digimon was here and probably knew how to get home did.
"A cat," Misha said questioningly looking at the little girl. That was a new one on him, however, today was just bringing in all the weird things. Should he even be surprised anymore? Alternate universe talking dog and a cat that looks human.
"I'm not exactly sure," Misha admitted. "I've never actually had a dog."
"I'm not a dog," she growled. "And I'm not wearing a leash. I'm not like those mindless mutts in the alleys."
"Doesn't mean you still don't look like one," Misha said again. If looks could kill he'd be dead right now.
"You there, pussycat," she huffed deciding it wouldn't be an issue once she was home. "Closest and easiest way to get back to the digital world." She had no intention of being friends and she didn't want to give the impression either.
"You could say please," Misha chastised lightly. She was blunt and vocal to say the least. He had to wonder how she survived this long without someone trying to put her down. "She arrived today so we are both a little clueless. I planned on helping her get back after work." He explained with a small smile.
"Not clueless just stuck," she said unamused. Which was mostly true. She was out of her element though and she knew it. She just didn't want to admit it.

Hearing the man talk, Whiskers lifted wide green eyes to stare at him, and gave a small nod. "A Meicoomon, rawrly!" She informed, before focus darted back to the dreaded canine! Sure, it may look harmless, but she swore it wasn't! Dogs ate cats! Didn't everyone know this? Why was she the only one panicking? Asher should be protecting her!
But, instead, he was having a conversation with the canine! "In this world, you're a dog," he stated, with a stern enough tone that it should be obvious that there was no objection to be had! At least the canine-mon's human could at least acknowledge that it looked like a dog! "From what I've heard, this world doesn't really play well with Digimon." That said, it looked like this Digimon didn't play well with its human, either!
Being addressed, Whiskers tensed again, leaning closer into Asher's side. "Could throw you in the trash ri--," she began, only to receive another pat on the head from Asher. Okay, so maybe the mercenary was being a little rude! "And my name's not Pussycat, Fleabag!" Oof. This was not a good time or place for name-calling! 'Pussycat' wasn't nearly that bad!
With the brief explanation provided, the redhead raised an eyebrow, while trying to pretend that his partner hadn't stooped so low as to call tiny dogs mean names. "Why can't she just go back the way she came?" Seemed logical enough, right? Though, another thought needed to be aired before anyone could go on with the plan to return the little dog to its home! "I figured you were her Tamer, or something," he admitted, throwing another glance toward Whiskers. "Like, I thought normal people weren't even supposed to know about them." Granted, they were in a pretty public place right now! Luckily, it seemed like everyone was too busy with their own lives to even notice!
"A lot of Digimon eithfur don't know or don't care," Whiskers piped up, still staring the Xiaomon down. "If mew want to go home, why did mew even come here? Just to eat cats li--"
"--Okay, seriously?" Asher had apparently gotten tired of the holosuited girl's jabs, as he let out a small sigh. "She hasn't made a dangerous move toward you, you're bigger, and I don't think her mouth can even open that wide!"
Huge green eyes looked up to the redhead, slowly, while the expression on the girl read that she had clearly seen things that nobody ever needed to. "Mew have not seen all the terrawrfying things that Digimon can do. Like unhinge their jaws and stuff!" This was followed up with a very animated motion, using both arms to clap down on each other, in some strange attempt to imitate a crocodile's mouth. As soon as she had finished her demonstration, Whiskers wrapped her arms around one of Asher's, while he let out another sigh.
Focusing back to the other human in this conversation, the young man decided to try to talk to him instead. Humans made more sense than Digimon usually, anyway. "I swear, she's not usually like this." Sure, Whiskers could act like a little kid sometimes, but this was just ridiculous! "But, if that's not your partner, why are you so calm about a talking dog?"

Fleabag? She was not keen on being called something strange. However, since she came in contact with that dog she did have a faint itch. She seriously hoped it wasn't true; hell she didn't even know what happened to fleas that ate digimon blood.
More importantly what was this partner stuff? Digimon didn't actually partner with humans willing, do they? Admittedly she never focused on reading in general but she knew the basics. If she was brought to this world to be someone's partner she didn't like the idea. Fate was a cruel one.
Mihai couldn't help but to think the cat-girls reaction a bit cute. It really didn't help she spoke more like a cat the more he thought about it. Her imitation of something opening a large mouth was definitely the highlight of her eccentric actions.
"Oh she's fine," Mihai said smiling. "I was really surprised at first but we talked it out. I'm a pretty easygoing person as is so I guess she was lucky." He had been more surprised at the fact she made good on her word to bite him.
"Not lucky enough to avoid this place entirely," she grunted. "I happened to be fighting with a Gizamon at the time. Damn thing kicked me right into the portal and I didn't even know it was there. When I woke here I was one stage less and the portal too high to reach. I tried to return until it vanished." She explained though all she wanted to do is go that was obvious. Returning the way she came was the first thought on her mind.
"I still have no idea what a Gizamon is," Mihai said still trying to picture it.
"Honestly, I have no clue either. Maybe a furry frog," she responded. The image Mihai pictured had him holding a hand to his lips to stifle a laugh. "Whatever the case I seriously hope to Yggdrassil I wasn't brought here to be paired with a human. I'm not cut out for this world or being called a dog."
"How would one know," Mihai said pointing out the obvious question at hand. Admittedly he didn't think it would be a bad thing. It was all a matter of perspective in his eyes. She was small and in a very large world. She was rough and callous to be sure but he figured it was because she was more scared than anything. She was in a different world against her wishes and while he wouldn't act the same he knew some people would.

It was a really good thing that the new Digimon didn't seem overly feisty. After name-calling and flat-out rudeness, Asher would have expected at least some rude remarks! But, Whiskers was the only one being immature here! Funny, considering she was a level higher than the puppy-mon!
Asher gave a nod and shrug at the stranger's inability to picture a Gizamon. "Yeah, I don't know either," he admitted. There were way too many Digimon to be able to identify each of them! He wasn't even sure half of the names of the ones he had encountered! The only reason he knew his own Digimon names were because they were literally inside of him! One of the few perks of being a spirit user was forced knowledge of at least his own forms. Albeit, that was a really lame perk.
"They have back-spikes, too!" Whiskers noted, while still hiding behind her human's arm. Okay, so a frog with fur and spikes. That was a really weird description! Why were Digimon essentially weird-shaped, weaponized animals? Did a ten year old make half of these?
But, not being cut out for this? The faux girl tilted her head, curiously. "It's not that bad. Hyoomans like to brush mew and give mew free foods if they think you're a pet!" Spoken like a true cat! "Sometimes they give mew dumb names like Mister Whiskers, though," she commented, with a pointed glare at Asher, who had made it a point not to look at the girl for the time being. Pssh, who would name a cat 'Mister' without confirming their gender first? Definitely not him, nope! "If mew has a hyooman, though! You get stronger easier than without!" Digivolving to high levels just seemed so much easier with a tamer! But, maybe that was just how things were purrceived by the feline. Ah well! She didn't know anything different!
But, since Whiskers was busy talking about the perks of being partnered -- a strange stance for someone that called themselves a mercenary -- Asher was stuck finding a proper answer to the human's question. "Well," he dragged out, while putting his hands in his pockets. How would someone know? Tapping fingers against what had quickly become one of the teen's most valuable possessions, the response came far more quickly than he had expected! "A digivice," he blurted, not having fully considered how to word the answer. Still, he pulled out his D-Scanner with one hand, to show the man. "I'm not a tamer, so it won't look the same. But, they're made from the same material. Kind of looks like a virtual pet thing, and tends to show up out of nowhere." There was a pause, and a small cringe of remembering. "Or, expensive things like phones turn into them on a whim." Rest in Peace, Amelie's phone! Asher still felt kind of bad about that one! Why did it have to change after he touched it? Ugh! "...Actually. If you don't have one, maybe, don't touch your phone or any other electronics until your new friend gets home." Words of wisdom! No need to break any expensive gadgets!

"I'm not the petting sort of digimon," she bluntly pointed out. Though the idea of becoming stronger did amuse her. She was all the time getting into fights. It wasn't her fault really though if people don't like what she says they can just back off. She isn't the sort of person to put up with things she doesn't like.
Luckily the human she might be partnered with was at least a bit polite. Though a bit on the dumber side of things. She might not mind it if he stayed at least a foot away at all times. She still wasn't wearing a collar or leash though.
"Hmm," Mihai began checking his pockets for that strange thing he pulled out earlier. There it was. So they were partnered then. He had to wonder what this would mean. "Looks like your luck is as bad as they come."
"Figures," she grunted. "In that case, I'm going to have to get used to you one way or another." She tried thinking of the benefits. Hands for one, he could definitely get her better food by opening containers with them. The strength thing was a big plus in her book. He was taller so he could see farther though she knew how reliable that was in face of that holosuit thing. Still he could be of benefit somehow.
"There a reason for things like this happening," Mihai questioned. This wasn't just a normal occurrence to be sure. So that meant there had to be a reason. The fact they grew stronger alongside humans was a bit of a hint in his book, to be honest. He hoped it wasn't what he was thinking. Yet at the same time, the idea of returning to battle set his stomach alight with butterflies. Once one touched the ground in a military uniform there would always be a faint longing to return to it. It was a part of him whether he liked it or not.
"Do with it what you will," she responded. "Good, evil, or just go about your life. It'll be a bit more eventful but no reason to conform to whatever plan or plot others have. Just don't think I'll do whatever you say."
Telling him to just be himself. Mihai had to smile at her faint words of wisdom. And here he thought she didn't like him. He was starting to understand her just a bit better.

Not the petting type? Whiskers knew this dog was going to be an issue! Who wouldn't want pets? "But, it's so rawrlaxing!" Obviously, not to someone who didn't want to be touched! But, as a catmon, Whiskers was more than used to way too much physical contact for anyone's liking! Especially if little kids spotted her! If it wasn't bad enough to be carried around against one's will, try getting your ears tugged on!
Shoving his D-Scanner back into his pocket, Asher gave a small smile. "It can't be that bad." Unless the stranger was insane, or liked to kick puppies. But, right now, it looked entirely fine! As far as why it happened, the redhead could only give a shrug. "I don't know. I tried to find a way to opt-out within the first week, but it doesn't look like that's an option." Which, now that he'd gotten used to it some, really wasn't that bad! Sure, there were some awful points to being a spirit user, but at least he wasn't minutes away from a meltdown!
It seemed like Whiskers didn't know. Blinking wide eyes, the cat tilted her head. "It's been happurrning fur years," she informed. "Like, not just Digi-years. Hyooman years!" Those were way longer than Digital ones, in comparison! "I've nevfur met someone that knew the actual reason. It was purrobably something designed fur a war, or something. But, that's just one of a lot of theories!" It felt important to add that last bit on! Nobody needed to think they were going into battle! "Our world's been purretty peaceful fur quite a while!" Thank goodness, too! Whiskers didn't want to be part of an army!
The little canine seemed to have a bout of wisdom, with her good and evil speech. To that, Asher had to flash a small grin. "You do you, but try not to get actual people hurt. I have friends that spend a lot of time in the Digital World." Including one that was trapped there! "And here, of course." That was a given! His family lived here! Not to mention, Asher wasn't the only person capable of knocking a newbie tamer off their feet if it came to it!
Though, the young man had to remember what he was here for! Pulling the folder off the desk, and lowering his hand to his side, he debated how to proceed. "I know what it's like to be working when Digital things get dumped on you. And, I need to get this to my sister, but," the redhead paused, throwing a glance to Whiskers. "If you want, after you get out of work, we can show you where her home is. If you're interested in exploring it or anything. Makes a great pastime. Just, don't get abducted." Words of wisdom!

It had been pretty peaceful when she thought about it. The xiaomon pondering if there was an actual reason. She lived her life a bit more on the wild side opting to avoid most their cities to fend for herself. After all, she was one to fend for herself rather than relying on others.
Abducted? Mihai had to wonder about that last comment. Something told him it meant they had quite the experience. So the world was dangerous to say the least of things.
"I would appreciate it," Mihai said smiling. "I do have to go home for a bit afterward first. Got to fix dinner for my own siblings." He knew the feeling of having siblings all too well. There was an unsaid responsibility there for siblings to look out for each other. "I'll probably be able to get out about seven. Hope that's not too late for you since tonight is a school night."
"So I'm spending the day in this world," she wasn't keen on the idea. Let alone the idea he had siblings that couldn't fend for themselves. She seriously hoped they weren't too young she didn't want to be the bad guy and bite a five-year-old for grabbing her tail. Though she would most likely anyway just to teach them a lesson.
"You said it yourself might as well get used to it," Mihai said smiling. "Ah, if we are going out this evening I should introduce myself. Mihai Sala." What should have been a quick exchange had dragged out some. It was nice though he didn't get out much as was. "And this is..." She never did say her name.
"Don't have one don't need one," she huffed.
"Ioana it is then," he said smiling. She looked at him strangely at his quick response. "It's a nice name."
"I'm not responding to it," she grunted.

This guy was pretty easy to get along with! Now, if only Whiskers would understand that she needed to get along with his partner! Asher was probably going to get an earful the entire walk home! As far as the man's concern about taking care of his siblings? The teen wasn't even able to make a complaint there! Piper probably could use a reminder to eat tonight, anyway! She had this horrible tendency to forget about eating, if she was busy with other projects! In a way, it was admirable how wrapped up in them she could get. In another, it was concerning and mildly terrifying. Asher was never sure which he felt more strongly on.
For now, he was mostly entertained by the stranger's concern about his school schedule, versus the digital world! A small snicker escaped from the redhead's throat, giving a small shake of the head. "Seven's fine. I only have a couple classes in the afternoon." At least the school was willing to work with his weird credits! Otherwise, the young man probably would have resorted to some sort of internet schooling. How had the internet grown into such a huge thing over the years, anyway? "Time works differently in the Digital World, anyway. We could spend a day there, and still come home early enough to get sleep." At least, if his math was right!
As far as the Xiaomon's concern? "Eat as much food as mew can! Hyooman food is ameowzing!" Whiskers notified, still hiding behind her human's arm. "It's the best purrt of this world!" At least everyone knew why the feline was always so willing to take up jobs in the human world, then! Could Digimon get fat? Because, if so, it was a wonder that Whiskers wasn't!
Another piece of advice, upon the introductions, was, "just take the decent name, befur they change it to something stupid!" Oh, come on! Whiskers wasn't a stupid name! It was the only thing Asher and Piper could agree on! And, Asher honestly couldn't figure out why the feline insisted on calling herself Lottie when she used her holosuit! That wasn't even a discussed name option! It was like mercenaries had free will or something!
Probably because they did, and Whiskers exercised hers far more than a hired hand (paw?) would be expected to!
The redhead was going to roll with the sudden name choice, smiling again. "I'm Asher Callum," the ex-actor hummed, while trying to gesture at the girl wrapped around his arm, "this is Whiskers. But, she wants to be called Lottie when she's in disguise." Again, because little girls don't get named Whiskers! In fact, the Meicoomon would feel awful if she ever found out that some kid seriously got that name! What kind of baby would have to be born, to earn the title Whiskers? It sounded horrible! "Nice to meet you both."
At least Asher had been raised to be capable of politeness! Sure, they had failed at giving an early exchange of names, but a lot had been going on within the past few minutes! "Are you alright with meeting at the train station, then?" Hopefully, considering it's where they needed to go! But, if Mihai wasn't comfortable with that choice, they could always meet up someplace else!

Spend an entire day there? Their timeline must be really weird if an entire day there would only be an hour or so here. Mihai was having a bit of trouble picturing it but he supposed he'd have to get used to it. Definitely going to throw off his clock he could feel it already.
Ioana, as she had been named, couldn't deny the fact their food smelled really good. It didn't help that only a few feet away behind the desk sat her portion of takeout. She could enjoy that at least and didn't deny that fact. She still didn't care to have a name but it would be better than being called a dog at least.
"Nice to meet you," Mihai responded glad to have met someone so soon who could help him get the hang of everything. It was an odd sense of fate he supposed. "Yeah, the train station is fine." He still wasn't sure where he fit into this new and peculiar fate but he was certainly not going to let this adventure pass him by. If he could relax elsewhere for a day and come back and still be able to do all the things he needs to do he would be grateful for the extra time.
It seemed like the conversation was pretty much done with. Ioana walked back behind the counter without so much as a goodbye. She was going to at least enjoy her food for the time being like Whiskers said. What a generic name, maybe she was a bit glad he didn't want to name her Spot or Lucky. So help her he'd have been bandaging an ankle for that.
"I guess we'll see you then," Mihai said glancing behind the counter for a sec before returning his attention back to them.
"Don't be late," Ioana called from behind the desk. Her mouth already a little stained from the soy sauce. So if humans knew only one thing it would be food she had to agree with the strange talking Whiskers.

Somehow, Asher had expected more questions than this. But, everything was working out rather peacefully! He was not going to complain about this going so smoothly, at least! "See you," the redhead chimed, shifting the folder in his hand. If he forgot that thing, Piper would murder him! She had already gotten frustrated about his airheadedness once in the past few weeks!
Turning, Whiskers continued to cling to her human's arm. "We're nevfur late!" the feline informed, still tense. It might seem surprising, to most people that knew Asher, but he was usually pretty punctual! Or early, for that matter!
As they began their trip back home, the faux girl tilted her head. "I didn't rawrcognize his accent," she mused. "So it's not Ameowrican, Furench, or Japurrnese, I don't think. Did you know what it was?" Curiosity killed the cat, Whiskers! So did those puns, though!
"I didn't notice," the teen shrugged. Mihai had a thick accent or something. So what? "Nobody asks you about your 'catccent'," he teased, receiving a glare from his companion. Okay, maybe Asher should keep away from cat terms!
Dropping off the papers for his sibling, he continued about his day as usual. Once the time began to near, the duo started their trip to the train station. "Should you have given your phone numbpurr to him, so he can find us?" the holosuited girl questioned, as Asher stepped off to the side of the entrance to the station.
"I don't think he's just going to walk by without one of us noticing him. And Ioana will probably sniff you out from a mile away." She was a dog, after all! They had good noses, right? She'd sniffed out Whiskers earlier, after all!
This made the 'girl' tense again, shuffling close to the spirit user. "I furgot about that," she admitted, huffily. Ugh! Dogs!
