"So let me get this straight. You grow your meat like plants yet still hunt," Mihai said pondering what a meat plant even looked like.
"Hunting is better for a digimon. Makes them stronger and while the data disperses quickly eating as much of it as you can also helps in growing stronger quicker. That is why so many digimon are wild,"Ioana explained.
She knew from experience since she herself was technically one of those wild digimon. She had preferred it to the town life so many sought. Not because she liked being alone but she wanted to be strong like her brothers. As the only girl, she had a lot to live up to.
"Well, at least I'm not squeamish,"Mihai responded having killed his fair share as well. "So what were you thinking for today?"
"Well, we got to learn your place in battle. I mean let's face it I'm going to be the one doing most the work. You just got to stay alive," the labramon said looking around the thick underbrush. This place was crawling with all sorts of digimon. What she was looking for was another beast or a bird type. Bugs and plants don't have much in the way of sensitive hearing. So those two species weren't as weak to her as others.
"In the military, we were taught commands using sign language. Communication is key in battle I would say. It would allow us to communicate without alerting our foes to our plans either," Mihai surmised. He didn't like the idea of leaving everything to her. He should think about going and getting a gun license so he had a weapon to bring with him here.
"So what you're just going to talk to me while I fight. That'd be distracting cause then I'd have to look at you," she grunted.
"Well I can either be the tactician giving you orders or the guy who stands beside you and throws punches as well," Mihai said stating the fact he wasn't going to stay on the sidelines.
"Get it through your thick skull," she turned growling at him. "You got no place fighting digimon. Some breath fire, others breath water, hell some are so bloody huge all they got to do is step forward and squish you. You are nothing but a bag of meat with no powers of your own. Soldier or not you got no role here," she growled.
Mihai glared at her quietly. It was true he was still relatively new to this world and didn't yet know his limits in helping her yet. He still wasn't the sort of person to back off and let someone else do all the work either. He just had to learn what it was he was capable of here.
"You done," he said his tone dry and coarse. It left her with her ears back and a bit scared. While she was still stronger than him, he was still much larger and could just as easily hurt her as vise versa.
"If you really want to go there I have no trouble sparring with you right here and now,"Mihai stated.
"Taking on a rookie like me is nothing compared to everything else," she said not too keen on the idea.
"Are you calling yourself weak then," Mihai said cocking his head. She silently cursed in response.
"Fine, let's spar,"she huffed and backed away from him to give them both room. She'd do her best move first. His ears may not be as sensitive as most animals but it would still hurt and give her an opening to tear into his legs making it hard to move. She got this.
With her plan made up she opened her mouth with and let out a noise unlike any other. Its high pitch rippling through the air and making Mihai cover his ears in pain. His eyes squinting reflexively as the world shifted with his equilibrium.
He wasn't about to let her prove herself right and while he was still trying to recover he knew she'd attack. He shuffled his feet and lashed out with one catching her in the side as she ran in to bite at him. He couldn't hear her faint yelp as her ribs bruised. But it was a fair fight a bit more now since the tilt of the world had started to right itself.
He had read into her movements and she silently cursed him for it. She rushed in to bite again this time prepared for his kick. Rather than dodging under it she jumped onto his leg. The momentum preventing her from getting a good grip but she did manage to make him hiss as her teeth scraped skin.
She backed off for a moment glaring at her human partner. He glared back just as strongly. They were kind of even at this moment. Though she surmised he wouldn't survive another of her barks. Though something spoke to her like it wouldn't be fair. She had never cared for being fair before so why now? Was it because she saw her own fire reflected in his eyes? That desire to be strong and not rely on anyone?
She understood that feeling very well. Yet she also knew there was no way he'd survive this world by trying to power through it with his meek frame. Humans were fragile and yet they acted as strong as even the mightest sovereign. She had to put him in his place even though she understood his desires.
She rushed forward again. Her body dodging some of his kicks and taking others. She could do this even in a fair fight she knew she could.
Mihai had always been better with a weapon than physical combat. Yet, with his new life he had left all his weapons behind. Sometimes he regretted selling the sword his father gave him. Cruel man that he was it was still the only gift he had given him. He wished he had cherished it more and had been willing to pay the extra money to bring it over here. A sword could have been useful in a place like this.
Yet, he never thought he'd feel the desire or need to touch it again. To be a warrior in a world full of beasts just as willing to talk to you as attack you. It was strange and yet already felt so natural. Just sparring with his partner like this alone made his heart go faster and those instincts driven into him from his years of service flood to the top.
He knocked her away and snapped off a branch holding it before him like it itself was a sword. He'd have to change pants and bandage his legs when they got home. The dull ache felt good though and he stood at the ready prepared to fight her with all his might.
The scene itself a strange one. A man holding a stick with bloody pants and a dog with bruises and a bloody mouth. Squaring one another off each showing their worth to the other.

Post by Haru Toriya and Tawna on Mar 5, 2018 1:58:05 GMT
It was supposed to be just a simple stroll through the Server Woods, that was all. Haru had mostly came to the woods as a side-attraction as she continued her first little forray into the Digital World, exploring it's sights and landmarks... However, when the Meicoomon that had been close to their side suddenly seemed to pause, ears twitching as they seemed to turn their direction to the east; Haru paused. "...? Tawna? You alright?"
She didn't even get answer before suddenly the feline Digimon jumped onto all fours, dashing towards said direction. Haru immediately flinched at the sight, holding onto her headwear as she began to run. "W-wait! Wh-where are you going?!" the girl called out to the feline Digimon, already attempting to try and chase after the fast Champion level. Even her time running track was barely enough to even somewhat keep up with them... and they were not probably even running at full-speed!
"Fight. I want IN." the Meicoomon barely yelled out, in a sprint towards where she could hear the commotion... she smelled blood. Not Digimon blood... that was basically just data. What she smelled was human blood. Her action right now wasn't fueled though by some desire to play hero... she merely just wanted to join in on the brawl. Moments later, the feline managed to emerge out of some brush, she saw a particularly rough-looking sight... a blonde young man fending off against a rather vicious-looking Labramon.
By the time Haru had managed to catch up, she was practically out of breath. Having to run without having had a chance to really prepare for it was a bit strenuous for the black-haired girl, she pausing to catch her breath... though her exhaustion is replaced by horror at the rather bloody scene right now. "Wh-what's going on here?!"
Tawna was on all fours, the feelers around her neck flapping about somewhat violently as they twitched in the air... She seemed rather rearing to just go and join the brawl herself. "Oy, Haru. Can I kill the dog?" they asked the girl, though there was reason to believe she'd have likely acted upon the matter anyway. She didn't like dogs.

Katsura was wandering through the forest again, in her arms she was carrying Nyao the blackgatomon. The forest was for the most part her home at this point having spent most of a year either here or in Terminus she knew it well. Still there was always things happening around here that drew her back. Nyao's ears twitched as she heard something. "Someone is fighting." "Again, please don't say Alexis is back." "How should I know? I can't see through trees." "Sigh, we need to find out if it's her."
And so Katsura and Nyao ran towards the commotion, as they saw a girl with dark hair close Katsura let out a sigh. "No not this again." "Umm. It's not her. Katsura took a closer look at Haru, then she calmed down. "So what happened?"
How Katsura could fail to notice the bloody man is anyone's guess.

It seemed their not so friendly sparring had drawn attention. The thing was it wasn't wild digimon like Ioana had been expecting. Rather two sets of tamers and their digimon. Both were cats too. That makes three cat-like digimon she's met. What the hell?
"Ah, well," Mihai dropped the stick to rub his head sheepishly. "We were actually sparring despite what it looks like."
"I was winning," Ioana said sitting down now that they had been interrupted. Her tongue going over her bruised shoulder.
Mihai ignored her remark in exchange for taking in both girls. They were both rather young he thought. The one noticeably younger than the other. The idea that in a few years his siblings would be around their age knawing at him. Since that would mean they would possibly be dragged into this life as well.
"Why is it always cats," Ioana mumbled. Mihai couldn't help but chuckle in response.
"I hate to ask but aren't you both a bit young to be in such a dangerous world," Mihai was naturally concerned about it. It might be a bit rude but he felt the need to make sure. He certainly wouldn't want his siblings wandering this place alone even with their partners. At least from what Ioana told him this place could be dangerous for humans period.

It seemed Haru and Tawna had not been the only ones to arrive at the scene, a short girl with a black feline Digimon about Tawna's size showing up as well. "I-I don't know! We just arrived here too!" she ended up exclaiming, a bit of a worried tone to her voice.
While initially panicked by the bloody scene, Haru at least seemed to calm down when the man ended up responding to them. So they were just sparring? Okay, that made sense. Wait... except it didn't. Why did a human need to even fight with their partner? She had thought humans didn't really have a need to actually fight against other Digimon; since after all Digimon kinda had magical superpowers and stuff to combat enemies, but maybe she wasn't as knowledgeable about that kinda stuff as she had previously thought? "Oh... But why even though?" she ended up asking, walking a bit closer to the bloodied man. "Jesus... Are you even going to be okay? Those look like some bad injuries right there."
Tawna on the otherhand just seemed to huff in slight disappointment, seemingly saddened that this did not even appear to be a conflict she could join in. "Hmph. And just when I was rearing to go at it..." they mumbled, walking back to Haru; their eyes were drawn to Nyao and Katsura as well. Something was... a bit off in the Meicoomon's eyes, but then again she was distrustful to almost everyone. The BlackGatomon in question also looked very peculiar to say the least.
Haru was still in the middle of trying to calm down, though she did end up taking slight offense to the man's comment about her being "too young". She was plenty old enough to be roaming around a place like the Digital World! "Hey, I'm not THAT young! I can drive you know?" she ended up responding in a huffy manner, though immediately calmed down as she took a deep breath. "Nevermind... So wait, is everything actually okay here? I just wanted to make sure, but miss orange and grumpy here feels the need to try and hijack any fight she hears of!"
"I gotta have a good fight." the Meicoomon deadpanly spoke, not even denying that claim.

While initially oblivious to the situation, Katsura catched on fast as it only required taking a look at the bloody man. So apparently the man was sparing with his digimon? Weird. She chimed in right after Haru to voice her opinion about that situation. "Why would you hurt your best friend for life?" Katsura asked Mihai while shrugging at Ioana for her remark about winning the match. What would you expect from a digimon fighting a human? Nyao heard Ioana mumbling about why it had to be cats. "I heard that." Nyao said, reminding her that she had ears. Still though, Nyao did not display signs of aggression rather choosing the higher road. Katsura nodded at Nyao in approval of this behavior. It was then Mihai asked them why so young girls were such a place. " Don't worry about me there are plenty of digimon in this place. So I'm safe, how about you? You seem new here." Katsura then allowed Haru to take over the conversation but not without sending Nyao a "Don't even think about it"-look when it seemed like Nyao was going to accept Ioana's challenge.

It seemed neither girl understood why they were sparring. Which was understandable since he doubted either had actually ever tried to fight beside their partners anyway. He was the odd ball out with his military training and everything else.
"It's called he's an idiot,"Ioana said bluntly. Mihai gave a lopsided smile in response.
"Everything is fine,"Mihai smiled at the older girl. "I can't accurately judge how strong either of you are. So long as you are safe and feel safe then I won't press," Mihai said a slight sigh in his voice.
"As for why I was raised a soldier. I don't like the idea of standing on the sidelines and letting her do all the work," Mihai said looking at her.
As Ioana had guessed neither of them wanted to rely on the other. Both had never done so before and both as stubborn as can be. Still, she was actually kind of happy to have a partner who was just as much action as talk. While she couldn't rely on him it did make him reliable. So if she was ever seriously injured she knew he wouldn't leave her or be in a panic about it.
"Even though you could be squished like a pancake," Ioana rolled her eyes. Mihai ignored her.
"My apologies I should have lead with introductions," Mihai said smiling. "This is Ioana and I'm Mihai Sala. Just call me Mihai though."

Tawna seemed bemused by Mihai's mention of him being a soldier, that and the idea that he was more willing to be actively fighting alongside his partner. "I guess some humans aren't just wimps after all." the Meicoomon ended up speaking, admittingly somewhat impressed by the man's guts and determination. A human who can fight...? How impressive actually. It seemed humans were not all just the harmless bystanders she had thought previously. "A soldier? Color me impressed then... My own tamer could barely hold her own in a fight."
"Yeah, well I've never had the need to actually defend myself from death... okay? Us humans are kinda squishy." Haru ended up countering the Meicoomon's statement, somewhat agreeing with the Labramon in that regard... than again, said canine also was just trying to maul her tamer so what did she know? She was at least thankful she didn't need to try and fend off Tawna in combat... cause she was pretty sure that the Meicoomon could kill her very easily. She would TRY to fight if she had to, but it wasn't likely a good idea.
Regardless, she glanced at Katsura as well... and while they did seem young, they had an air of experience to them that was incongruent to their appearance. At least everyone here seemed friendly enough. A bit more calm now, Haru took a deep breath as she began to relax a bit. "Well, my name's Haru Toriya. My partner here is Tawna, and I apologize if she can sound a bit mean or rude. It's just kinda how she is." she began to introduce herself, the Meicoomon seemingly rolling their eyes.
"Social interaction's not my strong point." the Champion level spoke, though their eyes were turned towards to at least the Digimon. "You all at least look strong. I like that." they stoically spoke, their tail idly twitching in mild-excitement now.
Haru couldn't help but let out a bit of an awkward laugh, sighing slightly. "Eheh... don't mind her. That's her idea of a compliment."

Katsura stared at Mihai while he was speaking to her, amusingly for the age difference, Katsura had only one to say to knowing that he used to be a soldier and not satisfied with being on the sideline. All she did was raising her shoulders in an unimpressed shrug, this girl had seen shit. Katsura turned to Tawna and her partner, she nodded at them indicating that she agreed with especially Meicoomon comment about humans being squishy. "You do know that most digimon are giant, some even able to breathe fire. "Or shoot energy of darkness." "Sigh that too, you have been in Terminus then? I never went closer than being strategist." "More like the mouth." "Nyao! (What?) I still don't want to fight, you'll be surprised how easier it is to talk things out" Aside from their arguing about ways to handle a situation, there was a note about Terminus City having the tools Mihai required to be less... Fragile. At that point it seemed like the time to introduce yourself. When was Katsura's turn she made a greeting bow "I'm Ise Katsura, this is my partner Nyao." Katsura indicated Nyao who nodded.

"Nice to meet you both," Mihai said with a smile. The fact both were somewhat against the idea of fighting understandable. They were both still young and in general, most people choose lives outside of conflict. "Don't worry my partner can be rude herself."
Ioana huffed, she wasn't rude she just voiced what she didn't like. Nothing wrong with that since it always meant people knew what she was thinking. Rude would be biting him mid-sentence which she was now seriously contemplating just to teach him the meaning of the word.
"I'm still rather new to this world admittedly. I do also believe in talking things out first if possible though," Mihai agreed.
"More like he's a friendly idiot," Ioana scoffed. "And if you are going to follow her suggestion to go to Terminus I'll wait ten miles upwind. The place reeks."
Mihai was definitely planning on checking out. Though his partner's reluctance to even get close to the place had him sighing. If she had her way they wouldn't go anywhere with a lot of people. She had the whole tough lone wolf thing down packed.
"Ioana was just showing me her home here in this forest," Mihai said changing the subject slightly since they were talking about places. "I do wonder what brings you two here, besides the fact you heard us sparring."
He chuckled a little bit the reminder leaving his legs aching a bit. He'd stop bleeding a while ago though he could use a bath now or just someplace to wash up and clean the wounds. It was times like this he was glad he was durable.

At the very least Haru was glad that she wasn't the only one who seemed mildly dysfunctional with her partner. Seemed Mihai and Katsura had their own hands full with just their partners. Guess it was just a tamer thing? "Well, I'm new too! Though I guess Tawna kinda HAS been my partner for a while now? It's just... she kinda was stalking me without letting me know she even existed?" she ended up speaking, at least happy to hear she wasn't the only Digital World newbie here.
Tawna on the otherhand just seemed to frown (well, more than normal). "I would prefer to call it silently safeguarding." she quietly spoke, squinting at her partner.
"Logistics, logistics." the gogglehead snidely added in before rejoining the conversation. "Ohhh yeah, I haven't really looked around there! Terminus City isn't it? Isn't it like built over a bunch of ancient ruins or something?" the girl ended up asking, parroting stuff she had heard from gossip while exploring Whitewater a while ago. Wouldn't THAT be some place cool to go to some time? There were still a lot of places in this world she had yet to visit.
The Meicoomon seemed to remain quietly, silently "meh"ing in regards to why they were even out here to begin with. "We're here because my human feels the need to explore. If you call getting lost exploring."

Katsura nodded. "Nice to meet you too, all of you I mean." Come to think of it both of them seemed new and now she also heard that Ioana allegedly was rude, something that caused her to huff. Katsura on the other hand shrugged. "She's not bad imagine a conversation like "hey random girl I just met, you're now my slave." Sigh I've seen worse than that"
Katsura then looked confused at Tawna as if she was speaking Latin, you could tell that Katsura didn't quite understand the problem in such behavior. Nyao looked up at Katsura. "You're not supposed to follow people without permission." "You're not?" "No" "But how do you stalk people if they know you are here?" Nyao sighed they had so many of those discussions in the past that as of now it was just routine. Katsura then started to realize that both of them were new and she heard that Terminus was built on ancient ruins. Katsura opened her eyes wide this was something new for her. At the same, Ioana apparently had something against Terminus City. "Huh I didn't know that I mostly go there when I need something. Most of the time I'm in the forest. But it's also the best place to upgrade your digidevice." It was then Mihai asked why they were in the forest, after allowing Haru to be the first to answer. "You could say that I live here, I have been doing it for about a year now."

So one liked 'exploring' and the other one lived here. A dozen thoughts crossed Mihai's mind. Mainly what about their parents especially to the youngest one. Though he had no idea what her home life was like. Maybe she was safer here.
He went back and forth like that for a long minute. He wasn't their parent or older brother. He had no place to chastise either for not being careful or possibly not getting their parents approval.
"You're going to say something stupid aren't 'cha," Ioana said noticing his dilemma.
"Nope talking myself out of it," Mihai said rubbing his head sheepishly. "Sorry as a big brother to two younger siblings I just can't help but worry. I wouldn't want them running around without proper protection and preparation." Or even without him. Although he guessed that was a little overprotective.
"Do your parents know at all? I know time works differently but I'm sure they are worried," he said mainly looking at the girl who said she lived here. He went ahead and said it anyway like he was a doting parent himself.
Ioana trotted over to sit beside the meicoomon. "Ten bits says he gets walloped by one of these girls before the day ends," she said kind of wanting to see it. He certainly didn't treat Asher the same way. Maybe cause he was a boy or because he acted as a mentor to them at first. She knew it was probably the latter though.
Mihai cast a glare at the labramon who just smirked in response. "I'm not trying to be overbearing or anything I just know how I'd feel," he said trying to make it a bit better.
"Your siblings should call you daddy instead," Ioana said adding fuel to the fire. He just facepalmed in response. Heaven forbid they ever actually called him that. He would probably actually have a heart attack.
"Right, forget the fact I'm an old man," Mihai said trying to wave it all off. "At this point, we are mainly just exploring ourselves. Ioana seems to have been pretty much everywhere so she's been showing me around for the most part. There any places, in particular, you four have liked?"

"See, Haru? The smaller human doesn't see any problems with it." Tawna spoke to her tamer, seemingly a bit more comfortable around these two other humans. FINALLY, humans she could actually understand partially. As far as she saw, living in the Digital World and stalking were just aspects of living.
Haru gave a look of worry directed towards Katsura, admittingly quite shocked by the idea of them living in a place like this. The Digital World? For a whole year? What a horrific thought... What could have happened to make her want to decide to do that? "I-I kinda admit, I'm also a tad worried? I mean, you probably know what you are doing... after all, a year is nothing to sneeze at, but still... I could never live here." she ended up asking Katsura, sharing Mirai's own worries partially. Katsura didn't seem inexperienced by any means, but they did seem... off, even to Haru.
As the humans went off to chatting with one another, Tawna seemed to drift off to the sidelines. "Meh. Haru wouldn't hurt a fly. It's agonizing how wimpy she is." she responded to Ioana, sighing somewhat. They did seem mildly jealous of the Labramon's own tamer...
Haru's worries aside, she was actually enjoying her time here in the Digital World. It was a very unique change of pace from the human world, and so far she's made plenty of new friends (Tawna was still kind of a work-in-progress, but they were getting there she hope)! "Well, I've been around the Southern Tropics region? What a beautiful place! It's like going to an even better Hawaii or something like that!" she spoke a bit excitably, but soon calmed down. "I kinda wish I could share this experience with my family, but they kinda are all... normal. They wouldn't understand I feel... Maybe Naoko, but..."

It didn't seem like anyone here was comfortable with the idea of a girl like Katsura living in the digital world rather than just visiting and Mihai didn't even like the latter option either. When Mihai asked to Katsura's parents, the poor girl hugged her kitty tightly while trying to avoid meeting his eyes. That question was for some reason beyond Katsura's comfort zone.. and then she smiled and giggled as if it was nothing! "Don't worry about that I'm fine." Katsura then continued while she addressed Haru. "I told you, there's plenty of digimon around here and Nyao always keeps me safe." Nyao giggled smugly at that closing. "You know that"
Looks like Ioana could earn 10 bits if she was lucky, Katsura moved her eyes left and right trying to keep track of Mihai and Ioana arguing about whether Mihai was too old and overprotective. Curiously, Katsura tried to ignore Haru when she wished to share this with her family. But a shiver gave her away that she was merely pretending not to hear Haru. Instead, she answered Mihai. "I spend the most of my time here in the forest, I do my grocery and stuff in Terminus. I also got some friends in the dark area but Nyao doesn't want me to walk around in there.
