Northern Dominion [Mission/Plot] 3/4

You know. It's a really nice day out today. Especially in the Tundra. The northern lights seemed to give a humanizing feel to the frigid wastes. However. There was a bit of an eyesore. A spire. A control spire, stretching up to the point where one might say it touched the sky itself.
Nobody dared to come around this specific part of the tundra despite it's effects being able to be felt all around. None could ascend past the stage of the child. Save for one. The lupine guardian of the spire, Garurumon. He patrolled the area around it, snarling mindlessly and menacingly.
This...
Really, really didn't sit well with the SnowAgumon. He sat up on a hill ways away from the Spire. Glaring daggers towards it.
"...You'll get what's coming to you soon. I swear it."
Alrighty! Since this is a Control Spire thread, I feel like some rules that, while obvious, should be laid down.
- Tamer and Solo digimon cannot evolve past Rookie or Armor Champion.
- Spirit Wielders cannot evolve past S-Hybrid or Human Spirit Fragment.
- Xros Generals cannot fuse their digimon.
- Each Control Spire is defended by 1 Champion level under the control of a Dark Ring. If you manage to remove the ring, that champion level will de-digivolve to rookie and become non-hostile. This will take 16 normal strength Rookie level attacks or 12 Armor strength attacks.
- To destroy the Control Spire, it needs to be hit 20 times by direct Rookie attacks or 14 Armor level attacks. However, the defending Champion is compelled to attack whoever does so, unless they're preoccupied in battle.
- No more than 4 people can join each thread.
I'll be updating the thread title as people join. I also will put down OOC counters for how many hits each party has sustained. They'll look like...uh.
Garurumon: 16/16 Tower: 20/20.
So yeah, let's have fun and please bear with me.

SnowAgumon however, would not be alone for long as the air about ten feet to his left and five feet above him seemed to shimmer for a moment before the figure of a young woman seemed to pass through it. For a moment she flailed arms cartwheeling as she tried to gain her balance in the now open air resulting in the Doctors bag she had tucked under her arm falling as she let out a sharp yipe and a "SON OF A~" before she crashed into the snow.
The bag itself hit the snow on it's side the top popping open sending a pair of small digimon sprawling into the powder as the Caprimon and Sakuttomon flailed trying to find their feet, but nearly being swallowed up by the white. Their Partner was not fairing much better as the young woman, her short blonde hair in disarray about her face, and white lab coat half over her shoulders pushed herself up teeth chattering despite the longsleeves she wore as she glanced around.
"Kami #$&%it! Not again!" She cussed leveraging herself out of the snow as she half walked, half trudged through the ankle and knee deep white powder to fish the two in-training digimon out from where they'd gotten trapped. The Sukuttomon having fallen over at this point and gotten his blades stuck in the snow.
"Cas! Cas! Help!" The little gold digimon whined his twin not fairing much better as the Caprimon kept having to try to balance on his tail to make a natural snowshoe to keep from sinking.
"I'm coming. Hold on." The woman, Cas, obviously barked out scooping first the Sakuttomon up under her left arm being careful of his blades before grabbing the Caprimon with her right as the shivering trio seemed to finally notice they were not alone.
"Oh...." The woman mouthed in quiet surprise finally spying the SnowAgumon where he stood.

SnowAgumon's intense glaring was thrown off by the appearance of a...A human? The albino dinosaur turned, glancing with slitted eyes and staring at the Sakuttomon and the Kapurimon's shenanigans. It was likely that the three had never been to the Tundra. This...was probably not the best place to start. "Shhhhh!" SnowAgumon hissed! They were gonna actually get Garurumon's attention if they kept this up!
"Quiet! That thing over there's hungry and it already knows -I'm- here, if it sees you, you're chum! And quite frankly I don't think anyone here wants more humans getting eaten by that guy!"
...Wait, what?
"...Bah. Who are you, anyways?" SnowAgumon slid down the hill in a manner as to hide behind it while Garurumon...remained over there, patrolling around the spire.
I'm doing a post or two before actually starting combat so Cas ICly knows the dealio. Also because I don't wanna subject a single person alone to the horror that is Garurumon.

Straightening up with the two in-training digimon now safely tucked in her arms Cas arched a brow at the SnowAgumon's sudden shushing as she glanced over her shoulder only to freeze her eyes going wide at the sight of the Garurumon. While the last one she had seen had been black the shape was familiar enough to make the Doctor stiffen in shock and surprise.
"Wait what do you mean more humans *Mmpf!*" Dagger the Sakuttomon exclaimed loudly in shock and anger only to have his voice muffled as Cloak whipped his tail across his twin's mouth silencing him.
"Shhh!" Cloak hissed, the Caprimon unwilling to remove his tail lest his brother draw more attention to them. Cas however, had no intention of sticking around on an open hilltop for long and the second SnowAgumon started to back down the hill she dived. Sliding in the snow on her back she came up alongside him in an array of wild blonde hair and rumpled clothes, but better in dispensary than dead. At least her white doctors coat gave her some camouflage, but it was clear it provided very little warmth as the trio huddled together. Taking a moment to breath she glanced down at her two digimon which were currently busy having a silent glaring match with one another though likely only silent because Dagger hadn't figured out how to get around Cloak's tail yet and his protests came out in muffled groans and squeaks.
"Dagger I need you to stay as quiet as possible. We can't let that thing spot us. Not unless we have the advantage." She explained in a soft whisper waiting until the little digimon nodded before she carefully peeled back Cloak's tail watching as the Sakuttomon spat out a few hairs as Cloak himself arrayed his tail about his body like a muff. Her team taken care of the the moment the woman turned her gaze once more onto SnowAgumon greeting him with a nod.
"I'm Doctor Cross. These two are my partners Cloak and Dagger." The Doctor spoke her tone clipped and polite, all business here despite her somewhat chattering teeth.
"Any idea why said digimon over the hill is so pissed off and is the giant black eyesore of a tower a normal landmark here or a recent occurrence?" She asked carefully bundling her digimon into her Doctors coat in an attempt to keep them and herself warm. At least it wasn't snowing, but the little wind there was was enough to cut right through the young woman chilling her to the bone.

Why is it so cold...
Not really far from where the group was currently at, a certain brunette struggled against the merciless weather. Amelie shivered once, twice. Maybe a dozen times as she trod through the snowy landscape. This was getting out of hand, and the worst part was that she still didn't understand why this was happening, or what caused it. In any case, those questions were meaningless right now. Like the last time, the order of the day was to find out how to... get back home.
Like the last time, that probably meant the brunette had to search for signs of civilization, or at least a sapient being in this frozen wasteland. And had to so before dying from hypothermia, as unlikely as that was.
Or... not? Maybe it was some kind of mirage, but some figures cloaked amid the falling snow. Hope began to well into her mind as her steps became slightly quicker. Maybe they would know how to exit this place.
"Heeeey!" She called out, hopefully loud enough to be heard. "Do you know how to get out of this place? It's coooooold."
Maybe a little too basic, but hopefully good enough at conveying how she felt.

"More humans, yes." SnowAgumon replied. Yeah, this took a really...lurid sounding turn. Really fast. The (not) albino dinosaur took a deep breath. That was kinda hard to say... "Well, Doctor. Cloak. Dagger. That's not a natural occurrence of the land. That's a control spire an--..."
See, SnowAgumon got cut off mid explanation! By a girl! He whipped his reptilian visage over and HISSED. "SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Bad people abound! Quiet! The spire's guardian can hear, you know!"
...Maybe he was being a little too harsh. Was he? Hnnngh. "...Bah! Listen! Both of you, do you want to knock this eyesore down? Because that thing," SnowAgumon would clamber up the hill a little bit to point a claw at the spire. "That thing's putting a bottleneck on evolving. I can't turn into any higher form 'cause of that!"
SnowAgumon was really hoping this was convincing.
Meanwhile. Over at the Spire...
The dinosaur's comment was not untrue. Garurumon -could- hear. And he paused in his endless walk around the spire, gaze locked on the hill. He already knew you were there. It was only a matter of time before he attacked.
Garurumon will start coming over in two rounds.
Hope you like to slam with the best, unless you want to jam with the rest.

"All right choke hold on evolution, eyesore, general menace to society...I think I got all that." Cas mutters softly fishing out her digivice as she peaks over the hill to carefully scan the prowling digimon. While not exactly fond of a fight it seemed one would be coming to them in short order unless they hightailed it. Either way she'd rather not go in blind.
Glancing sideways at the other human Cas motioned them over. "Hey! Are you any good in a fight?" She whispered not immediately spying a digimon alongside them like she had Cloak and Dagger, but that didn't immediately rule the other girl out.
"We could probably handle him Cas if we evolve to rookie." Dagger stage whispered even as Cas sighed and patted the little Sakuttomon on the head.
"I'm sure, but last time we had the Doc backing us up. It'd be nice to have some extra firepower." She murmurs glancing down at her digivice to see if she's gotten a reading yet.

Her call being answered was a mixed blessing. On one side, she had relatively friendly people, on the other, the call to hush and the black monolith that became evident at the distance made things... clear, in a sense. Guess this was the reason why she was brought in here? Just like the last time...
Amy took note, trying not to shiver too much as she heard the SnowAgumon. At least these things hadn't evolved in any way regarding the last time she had seen one. A relief, in a sense? "Those black towers, again? Geez..." Her annoyance would've been more obvious if it weren't for the slight clattering of her teeth. Some things just couldn't be avoided; catching the hint was relatively easy.
Pleasantries would have to wait for now, she guessed; their current plan was a little vague and time wasn't a commodity they could waste at the moment, but she thought they could handle themselves. The brunette looked at the shorter woman before shrugging slightly, her expression beginning to become serious. "If it helps anything, I've dealt with these before." She said quietly. "Both times the good guys were way more than now, though. But I think we can make do. Take the little ones are your partners? If you can evolve them, I think I could distract the bad guy guarding the tower while your guys wreck it. Does that sound like a plan?"
Not her smartest strategy, since she was throwing herself directly in front of the line of danger, but if she had heard correctly, those two could only go up to rookie. Asking them to act as a distraction would probably be the same than to ask them to be cannon fodder.

"It's as good a plan as any. We're relatively new to this whole thing, but we've got a few tricks up our sleeves that I think will help bring down that tower faster if you can keep the guardian busy." Cas explained even as the Caprimon and Sakuttomon peaked out of her coat. The Sakuttomon nodding vigorously though the Caprimon seemed rather skeptical of this plan.
Though admittedly they didn't have much in the way of options. "See if you can lead the guardian around the backside of the tower. I'll keep my distance and provide support to my partners. If things get too hot though let me know and I'll pull you out of there. I'm not without my ways." The woman adds even as she carefully sets the two in-training digimon down as she pulls out her digivice.
"You two ready." She asked with a tilt of her head trying to ignore her chattering teeth.
"As we'll ever be!" Dagger quipped in excitement hopping in place while his quieter twin nodded.
"We won't fail you Hime." Cloak murmured as Cas activated her digivice as the pair shifted in a flash of light. Leaving a Kotemon and Zubamon in their place at the ready.
"Welp that light show is bound to have gotten it's attention. Ready to rumble?" The Doctor asks with a slim fierce smile as she glances at the other woman.

Well, at least now there was a plan underway. It was a good thing that the woman with the twin digimon was willing to collaborate, even though Amy herself thought it was pretty hard to not to agree with "you go and have fun while I'm bait". But she digressed.
"Sounds good to me. I'm counting on you, guys." This was probably the most trust she had given a relative stranger ever, but there wasn't really much else she could do. And leave her with her conscience clear, that was.
Just as the blonde woman brought out her digivce, the brunette did the same with her D-Tector. A familiar warmth began to pulse on her left hand just as an arc of data began to form around it; time to get to work. She watched the evolution and, once the process was finished, nodded with determination. "Ready to slam. Let's do this."
The circle of fractal code was promptly scanned by the device, and interestingly, it resulted into... nothingness. No trace of anything having happened besides the fact that Amelie wasn't there anymore. Or at least she looked like that.
It was time to pay doggie a visit. Would they be up to play a little bit? Time to find out. —Amelie spirit evolved to Driftermon (Sprite).
—Driftermon is using Reality Spasm and proceeding to engage the Garurumon.
Reality Spasm: Vanishing from sight and from mind, this digimon becomes completely invisible. This effect ends as soon as she attacks. Duration: 2 posts. Cooldown: 2 posts.

A plan had been formed. SnowAgumon felt content with this. The cold girl would engage Garurumon. He didn't think it was wise to do this -alone- per se but maybe if she had help, this would go smoother. As Amelie...disappeared, SnowAgumon shrugged. Maybe she just turned invisible. Either way.
The reptile would leap out from behind the hood, rushing around towards the back of the spire. He made a reptilian screech, which drew the attention of Garurumon. Who ran after SnowAgumon, and with a shout of... "CYRO BREATH!" Fired a spout of water at Garurumon's legs. Now alert, the doggo LEAPT forth over the spout...
And right into it.
The water froze, and Garurumon's mobility was impeded. He wasn't gonna be doing anything for now, aside from glare knives at SnowAgumon.
While Driftermon was...doing her thing. If she was going to engage? Now's a great time.
Meanwhile!
The spire was unguarded thanks to everything above.
Cas and co. have a clear shot at it.
SnowAgumon stuns Garurumon for a turn. Amelie can go nuts with that!
Garurumon's pissed. 15/16.
The Control Spire looms!
20/20.
What do you do?

"Right we're up." Cas called out to the twins as the Kotemon and Zubamon charged over the hill towards the spire while it's guardian was distracted. Positioning herself so she could peer over the peak, but duck back down behind it if the Garurumon decided to take a pot shot at her Cas readied her digivice. "Let's get this over with quick I'm freezing my tail off." Dagger called out to his brother even as he grinned in excitement all sharp teeth and gleeful eyes as they rushed their target. "You could always warm up by running around dodging the enemy instead and leave the real work to me." Cloak shot back ever the serious one, but there was a playful edge to his solemn cutting words even as he stuck his Shinai into his belt and held his hand out to his twin. "Come. Let us show them what they're dealing with." The Kotemon ordered even as the Zubamon laughed taking his twin's hand as in a flash the metallic digimon changed. No longer was Dagger there, but instead a great gleaming longsword now rested in Cloak's grip, the blade emblazoned with a bright silver white '20' as the Rookie digimon weapon in hand launched himself at the tower. "Get ready for a power-up. I doubt we'll have to worry about you missing since you're attacking a unmoving target." Cas called out as she slid the Power Chip card through her card reader as an aura of energy surrounded the Kotemon seeming to empower and strengthen him as he swung the glittering golden sword at the black monolith. "DAWN SLASH!" Cloak roared out launching a huge arcing blade of light right at the base of the tower. _________________________________ Dagger the Zubamon uses: -Twenty Sword: Transforms itself into a sword increasing the attack power of any weapon using digimon that wields it by twenty-five percent and allowing them to use the Dawn Slash ability.

Well, it was time to bring the action! This Garurumon would surely be in for a surprise, not to say that the Agumon's ability had been pretty effective at immobilizing him. In a sense, this would be pretty fun for all parties involved; except the Garurumon, that is. After positioning a hair shy of being at point blank from the Garurumon, the only evidence of Driftermon further evolving to its Human Fraction form was a barely noticeable patch of distorted space, followed up directly by two gouts of flame being willed into existence; one was aimed directly at the Dark Ring on Garurumon, while the other careened towards the upper side of the Dark Tower. May as well help the rookies while it could, right? Especially when it was at next to no cost. Stridermon wondered how the wolf would take both targets being attacked at the same time, and was already going through the motions in order to anticipate possible future movements.
—Spirit evolved to Stridermon (Human Fraction). —Stridermon positions perpendicularly in regards to Garurumon, currently facing its left side. —Stridermon's attacking both the Spire lancer and Garurumon (aiming where the Dark Ring is) using Blaze Blast while being helped by Serpentine Spike. Blaze Blast: Shoots a stream of fire at a target, aiming to damage them and those standing close to them for an AoE range of 5m. Serpentine Spike [RAM Upgrade]: This ability doesn't use this digimon's attack for the post. The next time the target would use an attack with a single target, they can extend it to have up to five targets instead. Cooldown: 2 posts. —Stolen Memento becomes replaced by Not From This World. *Stolen Memento [Passive Ability]: This ability can be replaced by any Passive ability learned by this digimon. When this ability changes, it must remain active for at least three posts before being able to be changed again.
*Not From This World [Passive Ability]: This digimon's attacks and abilities ignore the effects of any passive ability that would tamper with them in any way, both beneficial and harmful.
—Willful Desire becomes replaced by Assimilate. *Willful Desire [Passive Ability]: This ability can be replaced by any passive ability this digimon has learned about. When this ability changes, it must remain active for at least three posts before being able to be changed again.
*Assimilate [Passive Ability]: This digimon gains perfect understanding of the effects of any attack that she would be subject of. She can use this knowledge to fuel some of her other abilities (notably, Surreal Memoir). The total number of foreign abilities she can remember per form (using this or any other means) varies according to her level, starting at one passive and one active at Rookie/Child, two at Champion/Adult and so on.
—Surreal Memoir becomes replaced by Blaze Blast. *Surreal Memoir: This ability can be replaced by any active ability this digimon has learned about. This ability is subject to the cooldown of the last ability that it mimicked. When this ability changes, it must remain as it is for at least three posts before being able to be changed again.
*Blaze Blast: Shoots a stream of fire at a target, aiming to damage them and those standing close to them for an AoE range of 5m.

Over with Garurumon...
Rage. Fear. Malice. These emotions were part of the cacophony going through Garurumon's mind right now. As Amelie's fire washed over him (and his ring,) an unprecedented effect happened. Fire...melts ice.
It doesn't take a genius to figure out what happens next, as Garurumon burst free from his icy prison. The flames from Stridermon's Spiked Blaze Blast spilled onwards to the tower itself, heating it to a point where part of it melted off.
SnowAgumon was lucky he hadn't done much. Garurumon was focused on Amelie. He bounded forwards and tried to slam his weight into her to knock her back. It was simple. He didn't really need to try thinking yet, he felt...
Meanwhile, at the spire...
While Amelie's duel with Garurumon commenced (and melted part of the Spire,) Cloak and Dagger would find their joint effort, along with the power of the digivice (and a children's card game) capable of cutting what they would.
In this case.
A big chunk of tower.
The idea of splitting up was a good one. Garurumon was preoccupied which gave another chance at taking another shot at the tower. But they might risk diverting Garurumon's attention towards -them- if they did...
...In reality, it was up to Cass and co. What do you do?
Okay. Sorry for the delay on this.
Garurumon breaks free and tries to TAKE AMELIE TO THE SLAM JAM.
Slam Jam: Garurumon pounces at the opponent with the intent to knock them back or over, the corrupted wolf doesn’t care which one. This doesn’t actually inflict anything. It’s just a really brutal slam.
Garurumon: 12/16.
Amelie meanwhile not only dealt damage to Garurumon, but also the spire!
And so did Cassandra!
They all do damage and the tower is now at...
15/20.

"Well that thing certainly doesn't seem to like fire. Keep up the pressure you two while the guardian is still distracted!" Cassandra called out giving Cloak and Dagger their orders as the Kotemon gives her a bladed salute. Their power up will last for a little time yet and while the twins felt a bit more like a lumberjack chopping down a big ugly tree then warriors it was best to do damage while they could. At least until the Garurumon realized what they were up to and crashed their party. "It seems it is time to turn up the heat then." Cloak intoned the gleaming golden sword that is his twin becoming wreathed in flames as he lashes out at the great black obelisk aiming for the spot they'd weakened with their previous hit in hopes of cutting away at the base of the structure and sending it toppling. Cloak The Kotemon Uses: - Fires Edge: Covers its weapon in flames and strikes at the enemy's head
Active Abilities/Cards:
-25% power boost to Kotemon with weapon attacks
-Attack power increase on Kotemon (two turns)
