Name: Riley Kimura
Alias: Riley
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Height: 6’3
Weight: 140 pounds
Alignment: Good
Birth Date: June 11th, 1995
Birth Place: Boston, Massachusetts
Western Horoscope: Gemini
Eastern Zodiac: The Pig
Skills/Talents: Nothing particularly unique
Personality: Riley's a very . . . energetic boy. He's a braggart and a loudmouth, lacking the ability to treat anything as a serious situation. That's not to say he can't recognize a serious situation; he just doesn't know how to act in one. Essentially, he sees the world as a stage and himself as the star performer. His job is the keep the audience entertained at all times. He has strong wit and exceptional improvisational skills, making him both a silver-tongued devil and a bit of a MacGyver.
He has strong emotional composure, able to keep both his good spirits and his quick-thinking in even the most dire of times. However, due to his sometimes abrasive nature, he finds it difficult to develop anything but superficial relationships. He has a glut of people he talks to and is friendly with, but they see him merely for his entertainer personality. Riley finds it difficult to express himself any other way, and can only develop a bond with those who can both appreciate his humor and personality, as well as understand the person within it.
Deep beneath his jovial exterior is an anger, waiting to explode. He is ashamed, and perhaps a bit afraid, of this side of himself. It is extraordinarily hard to even mildly annoy him, let alone anger him, as he prefers to try and see through the bad parts of someone's personality to the good within, and generally uses their negative actions as fuel for his "act". However, if Riley is angered, it will be sudden and violent. It's almost as if a switch is flipped within his mind; he goes from one second a lighthearted kid to the next a furious and brutal teen.
When such an event does occur, he is filled with deep regret and sorrow. Riley carries a strong sense of morality, trying to let everyone "in" on his jokes, to be accepting instead of judgmental, and when his darker side does show, it creates a rift between who he strives to be and who he avoids being. Fortunately, his "Hulk-y" side, as he calls it, shows its head exceedingly rarely, to the point where he largely ignores its existence except to crack jokes about it.
Also, he loves yogurt. Like . . . it's unnatural, man.
Biography: Riley Kimura was raised in a lavish home, complete with all the material trappings a reasonable person could ever hope to have, without a single responsibility. The only downside was that he never really made friends his age to share it with.
His parents, Hideyoshi and Etsuko, were the owners of a highly successful electronics brand, and as such spent almost all of their time in their work. They constantly traveled from Japan, to America, and back again, without ever stopping to enjoy the fruits of the lives they had built for themselves. It was on one such of these ventures, in the city of Boston, that Riley was born. Having picked up aspects of foreign culture from all their time abroad, they decided to give their son an American name of Riley, a name that they had liked ever since they first heard it. Immediately after the birth, the Kimura family traveled home to Japan, taking a brief respite from their packed schedule to be with their newborn son. However, this could not last, and the adults in the Kimura household showed themselves to be businesspeople first, parents second.
Over the years, he developed a deep friendship and almost parental bond with his impromptu caretaker and butler, Jeeves J. Winston the Third, Master of the Deadly Arts, Speaker of a Thousand Tongues, and most incredibly of all, Royal Commander of British Accents. Well, at least he was all of that accord to Riley. In reality, he was just an old family friend that his parents had met on a business trip to England and had hired him to be caretaker of their house, due to them being away so much. He spoke Japanese and a few other languages, but in terms of mannerisms, he was a classic, straight-from-the-silver-screen stuffy butler. Jeeves became Riley's guide, parent, and friend over the years, helping him with the ups and downs of life in lieu of the elder Kimuras.
As he matured into a teenager, his personality solidified while his personal relationships . . . didn't. He had plenty of friends, but "best friends" or really any sort of close relationships besides the one with Jeeves. Due to the general divide between him and his peers, he spent much of his time alone in his house, exercising his mind through self-teaching of a variety of different subjects, and his wit through freelance columnist work on comedy websites while maintaining his own blog. He also occasionally sought out activist programs, both online and locally, feeling it his duty to pitch in a bit to the world. Not to say he was a recluse; he did spend time with his friends, even had a few brief girlfriends, but for the most part, his social interactions in the outside world were seldom and superficial. He has thought about joining some sort of extracurricular activity, such as track (due to his lanky and frankly chicken-like body that he's so very proud of for some strange reason), but he obtains more enjoyment out of his online work.
Until recently, he spent his days learning, writing comedy, and participating in charity events from time to time. That, however, changed, when he met his little Digimon friend and had a horrific day of chasing down their arch-nemesis, the ninja Gomamon. Now that his life has taken a nose dive for Crazyville, God only knows how it'll turn out.

Default Form: Tentomon

Skills/Talents: He has the ability to nullify his own attacks, no matter the size, when they come into contact with Riley; he is protected from all of his offensive abilities at all times.
Personality: Tentomon, the most kind, patient, and understanding person you could find this side of . . . some landmark in the Digital World. Not that you’d ever know that; for the most part, he acts rude, abrupt, and irritating. He insults, he nags, he bothers, he berates, and yet he’s none of those things. Very few people actually know what he means by his abrasiveness; his constant taunting is actually his way of being nice.
He's essentially a jester, constantly the funny guy in the room. You should never take what he says too seriously, because it’s always the lead-in to some sort of prank or punch line. That doesn’t mean he can’t show his kinder side; when someone is in legitimate need, there's a good chance he'll tone down his overbearing attitude and present some compassion. Of course, as soon as they’re OK, he’s sure to do anything he can to make himself laugh at their expense.
The only type of person he can really connect with is another clown like himself, someone who "gets" his jokes and what they mean. The odds of him finding someone like that, though, are about on par with the odds of him finding a swarthy time traveling southern gentleman who will take Tentomon to be his bride. Delightful outcomes both, certainly, but never going to happen. Well, or so he thought.
