Much time had passed since the events in the dark lands occurred, Graedon becoming far more comfortable with his ultimate stage. Since they had run into a near-death battle, the duo decided that they needed to be more prepared for combat. The Digital World had been nothing but fun and games until then, and if not for the miracle of digivolution, they would have been roasted on the spot. There was so much more fun to be had, but it was time to work; if one considered training to be work.
Much of their days were spent in or around the Spartan Training Grounds, picking up sparring matches with suitable partners now and then, or working on specifics such as strength, speed, and his pallet of skills. Graedon felt great, and the best part of it all was that Everett didn’t have to lift a finger. In fact, while Graedon honed his abilities and grew fiercer, the sly lawyer kicked back in the shade with his whiskey and cigars. It wasn’t like he could ever stand a chance against anything more than a rookie, anyway, so why waste his effort when he could relax and enjoy the sunshine? Aside from the usual snide banter between his partner and himself, everything was perfect.
This particular evening, the pair were kicking around the outskirts of Terminus. Graedon, now confident in his cardio and agility, had decided to test himself in the city. He asked Everett to wait out by some nearby foliage, and he needn’t ask twice. Everett plopped himself down in the tall grass, kissed in ochre and golden rays from the setting sun. He had no objections as to waiting for his energetic partner to return, though he couldn’t help but wonder what he was up to. ”Just don’t die aaaand I think we’ll be alright.” jeered the man as his partner set off towards the concrete jungle. Graedon replied with an arrogant chuckle, and set towards his goal; he would steal them a juicy dinner for tonight.
At last he arrived at his destination; the most prestigious restaurant that Terminus had to offer. Of course, looking just like the thug he was, Graedon had to be cunning and quick on his feet. As he popped into the restaurant, he spied on the various tables for something which had yet to be exposed to hungry mouths. It took a few minutes of gawking around the room and undoubtedly raising suspicion, but surely enough there was a butler, Penguinmon, carrying a hefty Tyrano-sized steak. That would be his chance! Dashing through the room, Graedon quickly grabbed the platter of food and kicked over the avian digimon, springing up on a few tables on his way out. The security guard, a menacing looking Leomon, was already blocking the entire doorway with his robust figure. The small bruin knew he had to think fast, so his eyes shot towards an open window. Now he just had to leap passed the oversized feline, through the window, and keep the food square on the platter. Piece of cake!
Graedon snapped into action, devising a rapid plan to hop on the next three tables and dive right out of the gaping portal to safety. With a one and a two, he followed through and did exactly as he intended, jolting through the window with the food still unscathed. The bear zipped through the city streets, passed the gates, and by the time any kind of authority was even contacted, he was back in the field. ”Ta-da! Check out what I racked.” gloated the thug. ”What took ya so long, kid? I thought I was going to starve here.” ”Maybe I should have let you starve. There’d be more for me!” the Bearmon added, playfully punching his tamer’s arm. ”Hey what the hell?” ”Oh sue me. Now shut up and eat!” Without further ado, the duo went ahead and dug into their gourmet dinner, hidden in tall grass and confident the guards wouldn’t bother coming for them. They finished their dinner and kicked up their feet in relaxation, oblivious to the fact that this evening would be different from any they’ve had so far.

OOC: Sorry about the delay. Stupid IRL stuff.
The guards weren't coming for them, but something else was. Ever since Giygas' mysterious disappearance, Akari knew that securing the area was a vital part of maintaining the Hakainushi's vice grip over the Digital World. Of course, the vice grip she once knew was becoming a limp hand. She felt like the only digit left - an index finger- pointing at problems that needed to be solved yet unable to solve them. What was left? She was alone. The Empress reigned over a kingdom of nothingness. Just as her rule had fallen before, it had done so again. How many more times would she try? There was no one she could rely on except herself. Acknowledging a higher honour, though, she would defend this land, or at least pretend to do so, to cure her boredom and her frustration.
"Do you really want to continue this crusade?" a voice interrupted. Zeromon walked a few paces behind the girl, allowing her some head space. His interjection caused her to turn her head abruptly, looking him in the face with dead eyes. "We're the only ones left, Zeromon." The Digimon nodded slowly. He understood. His partner remained persistent and resolute. Compromise wasn't an option. When you had a goal, you stuck to it. Zeromon would see the fall of the Royal Knights and the upheaval of the Digital World, even if it was just him and Akari that would see it through.
"I'll have to cut this short. You're on our territory now" Akari began. She had every intention of startling the Bearmon and his human partner. The smug look on their faces was enough to antagonize her, even if she could easily avoid this fight. She was looking for one. She was out for blood. She'd make this guy and his furry Digimon hurt because this was the only way she could feel whole again. Purposeful. Like her goal was still in sight. "You best prepare yourselves" Zeromon warned, bearing his claws.
Fight time.

Though the ingot bathed scenery was enough to lull anyone into a state of carelessness, Graedon was still a little on edge. His adrenaline rush hadn’t yet subsided, and his ears were still on a swivel like little radars. Everett could care less about the situation; he had his food, he had his cigars, all was well in his world. But just as the man fished out a lighter from his pocket, Graedon sprung onto his feet. Baby blue eyes scanned the horizon, his head barely peeking out from beneath the tall grass. Disgruntled, Everett tried to pull him back down, but when the Bearmon resisted, his tamer knew something was up. ”Shh, we have company, and they’re not here to join our little picnic.” whispered Grae, who was now on the lookout.
Everett stood up, slightly annoyed and confused. He hadn’t heard a thing, and he didn’t exactly see anyone, so why was his digimon acting this way? ”What is it? I can’t hear jack squat.” asked the man. ”Voices, I don’t think they’re friendly. I couldn’t make out the words, they were really quiet.” ”Eh, why not warp digivolve? Get a better look. Maybe you’ll scare them off, you get pretty hideous to look at when you change.” ”Not the time to be a jerk, Rett… Although, that is a good idea.” With a flash of light, the small bruin’s figure began to change. Coated in energy, his limbs elongated and filled out, his body grew significantly, his skin tore and molded and was now covered in stitching and patches. What was once a debatably cute little cub had morphed into a horrific toy bear straight out of a child’s nightmares.
Now towering at twenty-odd feet tall, it didn’t take the giant long to spot a woman with her ebon-skinned digimon. ”Hey Rett, this one’s a cutie! Nice little blonde thing, thin figure, lots of skin. I think you’d like what you see! Wanna come up for a look?” His thunderous voice rolled through the plains, arrogance present in his tone. ”No need buddy, she’ll probably come right to us. I’ll have all the time in the world with her while you keep the digimon busy, ain’t that right?” pulling out his flask, the cocky lawyer slammed down a shot of his aged whiskey. ”Come on tuts, where are ya hiding? Let’s play.”

Akari seemed unmoved by her opponent's taunts. This wasn't anything she hadn't already heard before. Men weren't very clever; their insults were never original. By the same token, Akari knew that her figure was a distraction. It was in her plan all along. A master manipulator didn't just use their wits, they used their appearance and charm as well.
But this wasn't a beauty contest, it was a match in the making.
"Your petty insults will get you nowhere. I'll show you the meaning of pain!" Zeromon shouted suddenly. Akari was taken aback by her partner's defensive action. Why would he stand up for her like this? He had heard it before, hadn't he? Somehow, Zeromon had become a lot more concerned with honour again. Akari wondered why. His recent change of heart hadn't completely eradicated his old self, as it turned out. What surprised Akari next, however, was that Zeromon rapidly began to digivolve. Her Digivice beeped wildly in her pocket, signalling the change that was taking place. Look at his expanding form - now cloaked in a barrier of light - Akari became confused.
"Millimon!" boomed the newly formed Ultimate.
No Mega? What the hell was he doing? Guaranteed victory didn't come this way. Before Akari could ask, though, she found herself interrupted. "It's about time we prove our mettle - on equal terms" Millimon said. Equal terms? Akari tilted her head. Then, she understood. It wasn't in their best interest to annihilate weak Digimon all the time. Moreover, Zeromon hadn't fought in his Ultimate stage for quite some time. "I suppose it makes sense" Akari conceded.
"I'll destroy you." Millimon unsheathed his cannon sword and raked it across the earth, bidding the bear Digimon to strike first.

A smirk crept onto the deranged digimon’s lips, amusement circling through his mind as the opponent threatened him. Such ferocity in his tone, he seemed to think; did he assume that such cheesy lines would intimidate anybody? Well, maybe they worked on rookies or humans, but to Graedon he was just adding fuel to the fire. ”Oh no, such scary. Very fear. Amaze. Much macho, wow.” he mocked, waving his arms around tauntingly. ”How long did it take you to rehearse those lines, are you a sitcom character or something’? Heh, I bet you’ve been waiting to use those for months now.” Laughing about, the WaruMonzaemon eyed his foe as he flaunted his weapon. As fun as banter was, it was time to step things up.
As a precaution, Grae briskly summoned a goopy bubble around his tamer. Though Everett was usually pretty quick on his feet, in the event of an explosion or other wide-spread attack, it would keep him safe. The tamer started to protest, though he bit his tongue as soon as he thought about this situation. They were in an ultimate battle, and much was unpredictable; it was better to be safe than sorry.
With his human out of harm’s way, the giant bruin started forward, his heavy steps causing nearby terra to shake. As he closed the gap between him and the sword-bearing creature, his arms became surrounded with dark energy. He began to accumulate the energy into a black sphere, and hoisted it above his head. ”Eat this!” shouted Graedon, throwing the sphere towards Millimon. However, rather than hitting him directly, the bear digimon purposely shattered the sphere on the ground just at his foe’s feet. Dark matter erupted into a haze, the dense black fog covering a 45-ft radius around the ground where it hit. If the opponent, or anyone, was caught inside this evil mist, they would have their data corrupted which would result in temporary paralysis.

OOC: Dogemon!
'I bet you wish you were me right now' Nemesismon's voice cackled, taunting Millimon from the back of his mind. 'Damn fool. I don't have time for this' Millimon thought. What was he supposed to do? The dark mass exploded in front of him, quickly covering the nearby area. Getting rid of it would be easy. That is, if he could blow it away. Such an action was quickly becoming possible as the deadly vapours rose to his nose and began causing his muscles to slow. The bad part of this was that Millimon was now immobile. The good part, however, was that he wasn't entirely organic. Much of his machinery was independent of his normal bodily functions, making it possible to discharge his energy in that way. Doing so would burn his elemental stores, though, and he didn't want to do that in the starting move of this match. Instead, Millimon decided that he would bide his time. Ultimate attacks didn't have a sense of permanence; he knew he wouldn't be dealing with this problem very long. Still, confidence was not a luxury he could afford now. A lot of coulda-shoulda-wouldas past his mind. He wasn't Infinimon, though. Or Nemesismon. He'd made the pledge: he would fight this fair and square.
Bound by his massive form, Millimon decided it was best to let his technology do the talking. He was never the type to really give a damn about his way of speaking, but if WaruMonzaemon didn't like his prose, he definitely wouldn't like a slew of missiles in his face. Instead of announcing it, Millimon opened the hatch on his sword cannon, which adjusted accordingly, and launched his Magma Missile attack. He used this in a bid to draw a wall between the two parties, allowing the massive dragon Digimon a little more time to recuperate. Five missiles, each on their own course, aimed to slam down in front of his foe, much the same way the giant teddy bear had popped his balloon. If successful, Grae would be faced with a flurry of fiery explosions.
"I'm the witty one, of the two of us" Akari announced, breaking the silence. 'But my pet will murder the shit out of you.'

A cackle surrounded the fog as Graedon rejoiced in the hit. Cockily he grinned, squinting through the thick dark haze to just barely make out his foe’s silhouette on the ground. The enemy digimon would now be rendered immobile for some time, and that would be just enough time to eliminate him. The grisly bear sorted through his bag of tricks, though his thoughts were interrupted by a mechanical sound; there was an attack coming. Unfortunately, being in the mist as well, he was unable to see the oncoming projectiles, so he did the best thing he could think of in an attempt to avoid damage.
Warumonzaemon began jolting around frantically, rapidly changing direction each time he lunged. It may have looked incredibly silly, but it could just have saved him from sudden death. Graedon heard explosions erupt right next to him, his eyes lighting up as the flashes decorated his limited scenery. One, two, three… He attempted to count, but found himself falling over as he noted the fourth strike. The fifth hit on the earth beside him, dirt and grass flying in his face. Bracing, the bear hugged his head and curled into a defensive position, pain filling his side as heat enveloped his shoulder and back. The blast from the missile shook him up, whilst the fire had burned his shoulder rather badly.
With the bombardment now over, Graedon quickly hopped to his feet. He did his best to pay little mind to the charring on his skin, though now the atmosphere was even thicker with the smoke from the missiles blending in. Emitting a silent growl, the bruin plowed through the haze, locating his rather large opponent. Staring down at the paralyzed heap, he laughed tauntingly, and briskly fired a beam of dark energy point blank. This beam, dubbed “Zombie Ray” by its sender, would not only cause impact damage; that would be far too delicate. This dark matter would cause agonizing, mind numbing pain for a prolonged period of time. Millimon was in for a prison of hell and hurt, and there was nothing his body could do about it. How lovely!

Stall. He needed to stall.
What looked to be another debilitating move was headed in Millimon's direction, and it didn't look good. He couldn't be sure what kind of technique Graedon had in mind, but with his body mostly paralyzed, he couldn't trust his toughness to get him out of it. That being the case, he deployed his Resistance shield, which would neutralize any attacks headed his way. He watched the Zombie Ray dissipate in front of him, allowing him a brief moment of reprieve. Had he been able to, he would have flinched. What then, he asked himself.
The bear was at an advantage; there was no denying it. WaruMonzaemon was very comfortable in his Ultimate form. More importantly, though, he was well acquainted with his powers. Millimon looked like a bumbling idiot by comparison, still frozen in the same weird pose like an action figure. 'That's what you want them to think.' He questioned himself on that thought. Did he really? Embarrassing oneself wasn't exactly the quick or efficient route to victory. And that note wasn't without sarcasm. Still, he had to wonder: just how confident was Graedon feeling? Maybe it was time to play along. If he did, he'd be back with a vengeance. At a minimum, Millimon had to trust himself to be able to do that. As soon as he was free, he would rock this battlefield. He could see clearly through the mist and ash with his infrared sensors. Now he had to play the waiting game.
Akari looked on, bored. Was this all he was going to do...stand?

Anger reflected from the puppet creature’s eyes as they spied a barrier above Millimon. The dark rays cast by Grae quickly dissipated and vanished, leaving the immobile foe unscathed. Though he knew that he had no time to hover above him, for the effects of this evil mist would soon flutter away. For now, there was still time, and without a moment’s hesitation the colossus leapt high into the air. Clearing the fog as best he could, the massive bear began to twirl his body like a drill bit. Wind began to pick up around him, quite some distance from the fog, and carried him high above his enemy.
With no time to spare, the Warumonzaemon poised back down to the earth at full speed. Rapidly he revolved, his gruesome chrome claw driving, leading the charge as his heavy body followed. He was like a dart; a razor tipped, three-headed drill bit shooting straight down at Millimon. As if the weight and momentum weren’t enough to propel him, the additional spin fueled his attack with even more speed and more deadly force. Soon enough, his opponent would be dug into effortlessly, the soft flesh of his belly skewered and shredded into minced meat.
As the spinning bear charged to the earth, he painted a chimerical bulls-eye directly below him. Through the mist he could make out the other giant’s shape, and frankly he had no worries about the target moving at all. Even if his attack were to be miscalculated, even if he hit the hardware which layered parts of his opponent’s body, he was certain to do some serious damage. Even if he didn’t dig through the digimon’s core, he could probably drive his drilling blades into the mechanics, short circuit some of that metal, or heat it up to a point where it would melt the skin it concealed to sturdily. Hell, maybe he’d even saw through it enough to seriously damage the goods beneath, or even just dent it enough to break ribs. Graedon wasn’t sure of exactly how sturdy the enemy’s armor was; not that he would miss his mark.
For one, he was damn confident in his skills. For two, Millimon was a sitting duck.

Ah, a spinning contest. This one, without the bicycles. Millimon had been waiting just long enough for this, for Graedon's frustration to throw him right into the dragon's lair. With rocket bear headed his way, it seemed foolish to be confident. Fortunately, Millimon wasn't entirely sane. Just because he was honourable, didn't mean he couldn't be tricky. Or brutal. Feeling his muscles begin to relax at last, he set his plan into motion.
"Synergy!"
The robotic installations on the Ultimate's body rapidly began reconfiguring themselves, enhancing their output by twofold. Electricity poured from every orifice. Millimon's gargantuan claw began to rotate. Suddenly, he leaped from the ground, the electrical current carrying him, straight into his opponent. But this wasn't for naught. "Iron Rend!" Twisting his body, Millimon redirected Graedon's digizoid claws across the side of his lower chest, leaving the bear perfectly positioned over his lap. He immediately deployed his vice-like arm in a bid to cleave his foe in two, slamming it down with unparalleled ferocity.
"Well, at least he's trying now" Akari mused. Certainly looked like it, didn't it? Well, until a burst of blood came flying out of his chest. Contact moves did have a tendency to do that. She wondered how it would play out, what with him taking this kind of damage early on. Interesting, yet irritating.
Wincing from the pain, Millimon quickly regrouped to allow himself the space he needed to recover. He would be able to float there for another turn but he would have to capitalize if he expected to get full use of it. Hopefully he'd thrown Graedon into the ground like he'd intended. He couldn't be sure, though. He would wait for the next rout.

What a delectable sensation it was to tear someone’s flesh into bits! A wicked grimace plastered itself onto the evil bear’s face, though to his dismay was very quickly wiped. Before he could set himself up for a landing, the bruin was stopped mid-air, with a loud crack and a bucket of pain emanating from his back. That digimon, Millimon, despite being under paralysis had a clear advantage; his muscles were not the only things that moved him, and his robotic parts had taken over just in time to land this sneak attack.
Dropping down from the sky, the colossus tumbled significantly, hurt flooding his body all around as he felt it being battered all over. Alas he managed to regain some sort of control, sticking his grisly claws into the earth and skidding to a stop. Growling furiously as he lifted himself from the ground, Graedon peered through the cloud of dust behind him, only to see trails of blood from his opponent as well. ”Good” he thought. That bastard would pay far more dearly than just this little cut. Glancing at his arm, he took note of the crimson which stained his fur, and headed back towards the enemy. He winced as he stepped, the smash he took from his foe earlier was far more damaging than his fall could ever be. Still, he knew that once he laid eyes on Millimon, he would forget all about it as the tension and heat of battle would rise.
Suddenly a piercing screech filled the air, what seemed like a siren and heavy marching approached them at a rapid pace. Standing tall, Graedon could see them in the distance; guards and Terminus police, headed right for them. It would appear they were too close to the city, and the local enforcements did not want to risk their city or citizens getting hurt. There was a hoard of MagnaAngemons, amongst other strong digimon, coming straight for them. Graedon knew there was no chance of finishing this fight.
Without a second thought, the WaruMonzaemon summoned a goopy bubble, encasing both Everett and himself. He briskly steered it high into the air and shot into the horizon, fleeing from the scene. No way were they getting arrested, they would have to lay low for a while, away from Terminus City.
