Past the veil of the eye, those that passed through the border would find themselves in a strange place - the point of entrance and the appearance from the outside had no bearing on the inside, not in appearance or volume.
Inside this space, one would find themselves in quite the foreign atmosphere. In the most simple of terms, this was nothing more than a long hallway, a straight path with a sheer wall on each side, about ten meters in height and twenty meters across. However, that was merely its layout.
The appearance, on the other hand, was most jarring: a highly reflective mirror made up the floor of the room, and the 'walls' themselves were made of jagged, reflective material - creating a cascade of reflections, both correct and warped, on either side. It would make one cautious enough to not risk touching the sides, lest they risk a deep cut...
... But why such a strange appearance? After a while of walking, they would finally find this room's resident: a Mercurymon (X), sitting on an outcropping in the middle of the path, polishing the back of one of her shields with a small rag. Even in the presence of an adversary, the spirit would appear composed: aware, but not overly concerned of the figure before them.
"Mhm..." She'd just give a hum, until addressed or acted upon - or, well, until someone would try and pass her.

The sound of footsteps echoed down the halls. Rebounding off the flat planes, sliced by the cracked edges. What was peculiar about these footsteps was that there were many of them. And they made resonant clicking noises, much like the tapping of a fingernail against glass. What was more familiar was that there were softer footfalls accompanying them: human footsteps.
Rinji was walking down the hallway. What made him slightly less nervous was that Amelie was with him too. His most trusted friend. Sometimes, they almost seemed like tamer and partner.
This SOS signal had inadvertently become part of their Grand Tour of the Digital World. The Trailmon had stopped in Rustport for a few days. So why not? The alien sight of a toppled spire and what appeared to be those glow-in-the-dark bouncy balls held together by scaffolding... well, that could be promising, couldn't it?
What was inside one of those said bouncy balls was no longer looking so welcoming anymore, however. The place reeked of danger. An obvious belly of the beast. Nothing looked like what he'd seen concerning Amelie. This felt like a very different problem they were now getting tangled up in.
Rinji spent the first few moments of tentative silence analysing himself in the mirrors. They... unnerved him. Even Amelie's own reflection appeared different... somehow. Like a crazy fun-house of nightmares.
"Do you think this has anything to do with your spirits?" he asked her in a whisper. There were no whispers here, however. They echoed from the walls, back to everyone else who was within the the hallway.
"And... do you still think we could get back out if we tried?" He hadn't thought to test that when they hopped in through. Rinji stared ahead as he talked, making out a room at the bottom of the hallway. Someone appeared to be sat there, polishing more glass?
"I hope they won't mind all the sand we tracked in. That stuff gets everywhere." It only just occurred to him that politeness may be the last of their worries. Now wasn't the time to voice those concerns - the atmosphere was uneasy enough.
A final detail not to be forgotten, was that his back injury was still present as a white bandage wrapped around his midsection, tightly enough to keep the scoring sand out of the wound.

"I don't like this place..." Shoutmon says after he and his Tamer Adrian had entered the eyeball, and now found themselves in this... REALLY messed up hallway.
"Neither do I..." Adrian responds, looking around, "but we responded to that SOS call for a reason, remember? Come on, let's keep going... maybe we'll find a friendly face here."
And right as Adrian said that, the footsteps started. One seemed like human footsteps, but the other... they seemed faster. Adrian and Shoutmon looked at each other before both of them got into a combat stance. That's when Amelie and Rinji came walking up.
"What kind of Digimon is that...?" Adrian wondered as he scanned the large centipede with his Digivice. "A... Scolomon?" He looked back up at Rinji. Why does it look like a mix of kinda cute and super creepy? Adrian wondered as they walked up.
Shoutmon wasted no time, immediately summoning his mic and pointing it at the two. With a place like this, he wanted to be extra careful. "Are you two friendly?"

Soft footsteps; left, right, left right. Walking inside what seemed like a giant, distorted house of mirrors wasn't Amelie's idea of their journey when they had reached Western Flatlands. Sure, sand could become glass if exposed to high temperatures, yet... this whole deal was just a little otherworldly, even by Digital World standards. And that was saying quite a bit.
Regarding the whole story? Well, it had been quite a trip; how a Dark Tower had been leveled suddenly and had been replaced by a Digimon that looked as weird as it came; Sakkakumon, or something of the like, right? The whole deal was highly suspicious, and that's kinda why the duo had agreed to enter it in order to inspect what was going on, even if what happened wasn't something naturally bad, at least at a glance.
Yet, appearances could deceive, right? As both the sound of Rinji's own movement and the brunette's own footsteps slowly advanced through the gallery, some questions coming from the Scolomon began to silently fill the air, shaking the teenager out of her reverie.
"My spirits? I highly doubt it." She whispered a quick response. "While thus far, they've shown immediate hostility to most Control Spires at a glance, they've been almost uncannily quiet as of late; if it were them, they'd prompt me to advance... at the very least."
Which was why her movement was uncertain at the moment; Amelie had entertained that hypothesis, but ultimately had discarded it and stored it in the 'not impossible, but highly unlikely' shelf of her mind. "I think that getting back shouldn't be too hard, but this place is here for a reason... isn't it? Just peeking then backing off because it looks unsettling isn't gonna reveal that reason, as far as I know."
Truth to be told, Amy herself wasn't a newbie to strange events happening out of the blue; that was part of what journeying in the Digital World entailed, after all. "Just take it as yet another of what probably will be a long list of our shared perils and be alert. If things get truly dangerous, believe me, I'll be the first to try and get you back to safety, Rin-Rin."
Even if those were hushed whispers, the teenager meant every word. After all, Rinji was her precious friend, and the bandage on his back was a grim reminder for her; if she could help it, she wasn't going to have him go through that ever again.
It was funny how the solemnity of the situation was broken what had been an otherwise innocuous comment. Amelie herself couldn't help but repress a snicker at those words. "I don't think is going to be a bother. Really."
Of course, that ambient wouldn't last for long; eventually, they crossed paths with another human and what looked like a... Shoutmon, if her memory served her correctly. As expected, they were on their guard, and as expected, the brunette would try to diffuse the situation. All while asserting their position, of course.
She raised her hands a bit indifferently in a peaceful gesture, not liking the overall tone yet being understanding of it. "You know." The brunette mentioned, her tone being a bit deadpan. "Adopting a combat stance, then scanning my partner without his or my consent and then asking if we're friendly or not isn't the best show of goodwill around."
For now, she hoped that Rinji would roll with that. In a sense, it could be the ace under their nonexistent sleeves. "Anyhow, the answer is yes; we're not gonna attack you. We got here due to the SOS signal and now we're checking this place out and trying to figure what's the deal with it. Any ideas regarding that?"
Of course, given her current behavior, she wasn't trusting this guy quite yet, but what else could be expected, given the previous reaction? Ultimately, it didn't matter all that much, at least Amelie herself continued her steps through this strange expanse until... the Mercurymon came into sight. Now, that was something way more in line with this place. Mirrors plus a guy who seemed to be all about mirrors were an obvious connection. And the fact that she was humming without a care in the world made those suspicions all the stronger.
And that's why... Amy eventually spoke up, cutting straight to the chase. "So, mirror person. What's the deal with this place? Not every day somebody drops an entirely new location in the middle of a place where a Dark Tower used to be."

Well, there was definitely quite the commotion off in the distance. The first sign, outside of the individuals' entry, of the arrival of the outsiders was that of Shoutmon's voice, echoing throughout the mirror halls. Had the Mercurymon been inclined to, that would have been her signal to scale one of the walls and try to ambush the group...
... But, clearly, that didn't happen. A mental note was simply taken to hurry up with the polish, and when Amelie, Rinji, and the tamer pair made their approach, she was already resting that bottle behind the cragged outcropping. "To be honest, we're way out in the woods where we thought no-one would bother us - and we took care of the Spire before we started." True enough, though that perhaps didn't excuse their assault on the Starmon and the Greymon that would have explained the situation - as best they could - on the outside.
"Though maybe I should caution that you've picked a bit of a problematic leg. My attention is elsewhere, so I couldn't do much more than set up an automatic defense. In other words, I have no other choice than to engage the three of you." As if on cue, matching the bizarre nature of this place, the Mercurymon's form took a shift - like static on a TV, even as the form stood still, 'another' Mercurymon stepped off to the left, and 'another' stepped off into the right - peeling off in thirds. But the forms simply didn't settle: like an image rapidly suffering generation loss, each would 'twist' into place.
"I don't envy any of you here."
Those were the Mercurymon's last words, as the three forms - standing across from each opponent - finally melded into shape:
A Shoutmon. A Scolomon. And even an amorphous form that could be called 'Delerium', each stood apart from their respective counterparts - a mirror image (safe for Amelie), save each form holding a color scheme in grayscale.
"Heh!" The Shoutmon stood proudly in place, tapping the back of his knuckle against the microphone: "Are you set to ROCK? Man, the acoustics in this place are TERRIBLE!"
"Tch, I can't get any grip here with these... oh well. Picking you apart should be fun enough." The mirrored Scolomon gave a chuckle... and as for Delerium?
Well, the alien form couldn't speak, not in a way that could exactly be understood. But as Stridermon's form took shape - even generally matching Amelie's own - she simply gave a taunting gesture with her own hand.
This... might have been more tricky that one first thought.
Mercurymon has used 'Dark Reflection'!

As usual, Amelie's steadfast and level-headed attitude helped to calm his nerves. Being too on edge wasn't good, lest they jump at the slightest thing and miss the most important details. Yes, being calm and analytical was the way to go.
The lonely, uneasy silence of the walk was soon shattered by the entrance of a tamer and their partner. A Shoutmon, he recognised immediately. They were difficult to forget, for obvious reasons. Amelie was the first to answer their guarded query.
Rinji stood aside as he let her talk. Yet for a second, surprise took his face when she outright called him her partner. Although he was aware it was a clever ruse, the unspoken bond was there. It still felt strange yet endearing to hear it. To realise it. They really had gotten that close, hadn't they? Especially if they could fool others into thinking they really were destined partners.
"We're safer as a group, anyway," he mediated when all was said and done. "We have safety in numbers." However, he did nothing to betray Amelie's original words. Even he knew that the more aces up their sleeves they had, the better. Knowledge was power.
Still, they continued walking. All the way to the Digimon of mirrors. Or maybe it looked more like a grandfather clock that someone had kissed while wearing lipstick...
Rinji was immediately on guard, legs poised in a defensive position. As a Digimon, he was getting bad vibes. After that, what she said sort of just flew over his head. Although a small voice in his mind had an inkling that it sounded as if she were broadcasting her words from elsewhere.
"What's she doing?" He hissed when the Mercurymon began to shift, and the other forms stepped out from her. His own attention was now divided between the three, eyes and head glancing between them, wary of which would move first.
Shock was the first thing that became evident when said forms turned into their mirror images. The Shoutmon looked exactly the same as its original, save the colour scheme. The one stood apart from Amelie looked eerily familiar.
The final form stood opposite him... it was the first time he'd ever seen another of his species, even as a twisted representation. What was awful about it, however, was that it sounded exactly the same as him.
His pupils narrowed into thin slits and he bared his teeth. Sharp, razor thin rows of teeth lined his mouth. Antennae flattened backwards, out of the way of combat. Instincts had taken the role of autopilot at this new challenger. Thankfully, his mind was still there, calculating in the background.
For a start, it was obviously a clone of himself. It knew what he did, it struggled on this glassy floor just as he did. Did that mean it knew his weaknesses as he did? But it seemed surprised at not being able to grip with his legs... Of course! It was still Mercurymon!
"They have the same weaknesses as we do," he whispered to the group, still on guard in case one leapt forward to attack. "How about we aim for that? W" At the same time, they could always try to gang up on the same opponent. He didn't voice those thoughts, however. This clone of himself... it was really grinding him the wrong way. "Will you be okay, Amelie? I'll try to distract them." The last thing he wanted was for her to get hurt, especially by his own clone.
Without further delay, Rinji leapt forward, rolling up into a rapid-spin ball as he went. It hurtled along the glass floor, aiming for the underside of his own clone. If fully successful, he'd try to smash it into the air and land on top of it. There was a very good chance that said manoeuvre would turn into an all-out wrestling match, however.
Rinji used Red Rollout.

"Stand down, Shoutmon," Adrian says, putting his hand out in front of the red dragon. It felt weird saying a phrase like "stand down" to him, however. Made him sound like some sort of captain...
"But Adrian..." Shoutmon tried to argue, before realizing it really was pointless, and retracted his microphone staff. "Sorry about that... this place gives me major creeps." That's when he noticed that the Scolomon had a bandage around his abdomen, making him feel even more like a jerk.
"Anyways... my name is Adrian, and this as you can tell is my partner Shoutmon. I assume you guys walked through some giant eyeball in the desert too, huh? We're here because we got an SOS signal, as well. There goes any chance of getting information about it out of you guys..."
Before more was said, however, a Mercurymon appeared, naturally having Shoutmon get back into his combat pose. However, the Mercurymon than began to turn static-y, and before anyone knew it, it split into three figures: one of them was unrecognizable... however, the other two were-
"Oh you've got to be kidding me," Shoutmon groaned after hearing his double talk. "I do NOT talk like that, you poser!" The Shoutmon would then hold up his free paw, creating a powerful fireball before throwing it as his double.
"FIERY FASTBALL!"

At least the misunderstanding got cleared quickly enough; both the teenager and his Shoutmon agreed to collaborate with them, even going as far as to tell them their stories. Amelie gave a small smile and a nod. "Our situations are similar. We can probably cooperate to see what's the deal with this place; maybe even find out if there's something harmful going on or not in this place. My partner's Rinji, and I'm Amelie. Pleased to meet you."Sure, that last part had been more or less a necessary pleasantry, but they weren't here to fight, were they? They could settle their differences later, if there were really any. She gave Rinji as small, confident smile before they advanced towards their eventual encounter with Mirrormon, its inevitable result managing to surprise... her a bit. She had no idea what the Mercurymon was doing, and couldn't but shake her head at Rinji as the digimon divided into three copies, one corresponding at each possible combatant, probably blowing Amy's cover-up, even though that was fine. Her muscles tensed, anticipation building up; what she had in front of her was a copy of how one of her spirits looked. It was unsightly, but she was already looking forward to engaging in combat with it. She knew it wasn't the case, but at least having this little payback on everything they had done thus far would definitely feel good. The brunette nodded at Rinji, bringing out her D-Tector. "Let's do this." An arc of data formed on her left hand right before being scanned by her digivice in a swift motion. In a flash, her body took the appearance of Siftermon. One thing was for sure, though; the newly-evolved digimon wasn't going to play fair. Making sure to attack before the Rinji finished closing the distance towards his counterpart, Siftermon released a stream of flames aiming at the three impostors. They'd have to act fast if they wanted to get away in time! And that maybe would give the Scolomon a better opening to tackle his foe successfully.
—Amelie evolved to Siftermon (H-Hybrid Spirit). —Siftermon is using Blaze Blast aimed at the center of the enemy group, hopefully damaging the three enemies. Blaze Blast: Shoots a stream of fire at a target, aiming to damage them and those standing close to them for an AoE range of 5m. —Stolen Memento becomes replaced by Not From This World. *Stolen Memento [Passive Ability]: This ability can be replaced by any Passive ability learned by this digimon. When this ability changes, it must remain active for at least three posts before being able to be changed again.
*Not From This World [Passive Ability]: This digimon's attacks and abilities ignore the effects of any passive ability that would tamper with them in any way, both beneficial and harmful.
—Willful Desire becomes replaced by Assimilate. *Willful Desire [Passive Ability]: This ability can be replaced by any passive ability this digimon has learned about. When this ability changes, it must remain active for at least three posts before being able to be changed again.
*Assimilate [Passive Ability]: This digimon gains perfect understanding of the effects of any attack that she would be subject of. She can use this knowledge to fuel some of her other abilities (notably, Surreal Memoir). The total number of foreign abilities she can remember per form (using this or any other means) varies according to her level, starting at one passive and one active at Rookie/Child, two at Champion/Adult and so on.
—Surreal Memoir becomes replaced by Blaze Blast. *Surreal Memoir: This ability can be replaced by any active ability this digimon has learned about. This ability is subject to the cooldown of the last ability that it mimicked. When this ability changes, it must remain as it is for at least three posts before being able to be changed again.
*Blaze Blast: Shoots a stream of fire at a target, aiming to damage them and those standing close to them for an AoE range of 5m.

Immediately upon seeing his double, the 'Real' Scolomon tensed up into an aggressive form - and though it took the copy a moment, the laugh still carrying along inside the beast, the 'shadow' would soon mimic, that same 'tenseness' stretching across his body. Really, the insect had a decent theory - and quickly moved to charge in with a powerful Roll-Out!
However, this 'clone' knew the basics of it - and instead of letting him build the full distance, the opposing Scolomon gave a quick charge forward without balling up, his several feet clinking heavily against the floor. Just as Rinji would land from that leap, the insect would present its right side, the armored carapace taking the brunt of that blow on the spot. Yes, it hurt - a pained expression quickly crossed his eyes - but since he had snuffed the attack before it could build up enough speed, the large insect simply rocked on the spot. And even as he braced himself, his carapace was already sparking with a tense electrical aura - moving one move right along in with the next. "Like... this?" Toying with Rinji's earlier moves, he'd let out a discharge of Archaic Lightning, trying to one-up his 'original' at close range!
As for Shoutmon, well, the shadowy component was still fussing over his microphone - ignoring his red component as he talked about something-or-other-I'm-the-real-one-blah-blah-blah. His eyes perked up at the fireball - oh, he knew the name of that attack! And wouldn't this be great irony! The metal dragon gave a grin, tensing both hands around that microphone as that music note came careening forth:
"Batter up!"
And with that one declaration, he'd give a swing - smashing his Rock and Roller directly against that Fiery Fastball - much like one would swing at a baseball! Seeing it dissipate into flames, though, the Shoutmon groaned! "Oh, come ON already! How can you call that a fastball if I can't even hit a home run off of it?!"
That said, why didn't Amelie's own flames bellow out before the group? Well, that was simple enough: the 'Shadow Siftermon' simply wasn't going to let the other just have her way. Rather than allow that fire to swarm her allies, the primarily-support Digimon rushed forward, directly in the path of the bulk of the flames - as a familiar 'tick' would likely click in both Amelie's and the Shadow's minds. Jumping into the center, the majority of the flames would come to a hard 'wall' in this Siftermon, greatly burning her own front side... well, only if Amelie kept up the flames.
But if she did, that Reality Hemorrhage might spell bad news for both sides!
'Shoutmon' used 'Rock and Roller'! 'Scolomon' used 'Archaic Lightning'! 'Delirium' used 'Reality Hemorrhage'!

Just as both Scolomons collided did Rinji taste the acrid scent of ozone. Initially unable to yell, it soon became apparent when he unballed during the rebound that he was indeed in pain.
The electric current coursed through him as he slid backwards on the glass like some mock-up ice skater. A grimace creased his face while he struggled both to remain balanced and ground the charge flowing through him. But Rinji knew his electricity well enough to impress a scientist, albeit without technical terms.
Which is why he bared the brunt of the attack. Hissed through the pain. Ignored his earlier blunder.
But didn't let his clone finish discharging.
"No. Like this." Rinji finally unleashed his own charge. The other Scolomon's lightning bolt had paved the way through the air. A direct trail of highly conductive plasma. Leading straight back to its owner.
The lightning bolts combined. Rinji's own electricity raced towards his combatant's. What had originally been a veiny arc flashed blindingly. Its thickness tripled in size as the combined charges ripped the air molecules free from their electrons. Crimson light flooded the room. Sparks flew to the ground. A thunderclap escaped the explosion.
This all occurred in a second. Electricity was dangerous, even Rinji sometimes struggled to control it. Now it was no longer clear who was electrocuting who. The lightning bolt appeared to travel in no direction at all, simply existing between the two. They were two similarly charged poles, trying to force the other to be the ground.
The light had also engulfed Rinji; he couldn't see a thing. Although the insect was now doing his best to bear the excruciating pain of being the source of the monstrous bolt he'd created. It was lightning that didn't know where to go. Him, or the other pole that was exactly the same?
In the end, the strike appeared to give up entirely. It fizzled and faded away, leaving the room so much more darker than it'd felt before. The sharp, clean smell of ozone filled the battle field.
"Lightning takes the path of least resistance," he explained, still panting from the pain and exertion. "You did all the hard work of breaking down that path for me." Briefly, Rinji turned to look at his bandage. It'd fallen to the ground in a smouldering mess. He ignored it. The wound was old anyway and the electricity would've cauterised it.
Although the whole thing did make him wonder; did the clone really know and think the same way he did? Rinji had almost lost his life learning that lesson.
And what was everyone else doing? With dread, he realised that Amelie had spirit evolved. Shoutmon was occupied with his own clone. "Everyone! We still need to work together," he tried reminding them. Though he had no idea if Amelie was in the driver's seat at the moment.
Throughout the whole thing, Rinji attempted to keep his distance from his clone. Getting too close again... could complicate things.

When the tamer pair met Rinji and Amelie, they initially thought that they were partners as well, so it was a bit confusing when three separate clones appeared, as opposed to two. However, that confusion was dissolved - and more confusion was created - when Amelie spirit evolved.
When this happened, despite the clone problem they were dealing with, both Adrian and Shoutmon had looks of complete shock as they turned their heads back to Amelie and Rinji.
"Wait... you're not a Tamer? And you're alone, Rinji?"
Now wasn't the time for that, however... they had a problem here! Shoutmon was confident his Fiery Fastball would catch the clone off guard. Sadly, he was completely, horribly wrong as the clone just smirked and hit the fireball, completely dissolving it. Shoutmon could not believe what he just saw. What was worse, the shadow clone immediately began TAUNTING HIM!
Shoutmon's first instinct would have been to completely lose his cool and relentlessly swing his mic staff at his smart-mouthed shadow clone. However, that wouldn't have looked good... he decided to be smug as well.
"Well, if you were such a good batter, why didn't the fastball come right back at me?" Shoutmon would then raise the microphone part to his mouth, smirking. "Hope your ears are as good as mine... BELLOW BLASTER!!!"
A sudden wave of sound energy would go hurtling towards the shadow clone, at the same time the two streams of lightning would collide.

This would be an interesting fight, indeed! Spirit evolving and having her spirits' collaboration was always an exhilarating experience that Amelie craved and despised at the same time, and facing against somebody she knew from nonexistant head to toes perfectly? She was well aware of what to do, and how many risks she could take in this whole endeavor.
For example, she knew what was about to happen as soon as the enemy Stridermon stepped forward and received the brunt of the attack, and that's what made her react in the nick of time and ensued in the digimon's body being enveloped by a thin sheen of glittering metal. The smell of sizzling organic matter flooded the air as both combatants' midsections began to burn, wispy trails of smoke beginning to make their way to the air.
In a sense, Amy was thankful about most of her senses being dulled at the moment, because she was pretty sure this would hurt quite a bit once she devolved, but that wasn't something that mattered at the moment; the battle plan was more or less clear in her mind at the moment, and this Stridermon could act as a living shield for so long...
Without missing a beat, and leaving a trail of blackened and brittle mirrors behind it, Siftermon rapidly switched its angle and promptly sent another barrage of flames forward, even though this time it was aimed exclusively at the opposing Scolomon. The attacks that they had exchanged probably left both Rinji and his enemy without much of an opportunity to look around, so this was a pretty clear shot, or at least seemed like it. —Using Chrome Digizoid Armor before Blaze Blast hits, taking reduced damage from Reality Hemorrhage as a result.
—Siftermon recovers a bit of health due to Reprocess.
—Siftermon is using Blaze Blast, targetting the enemy Scolomon.
—Card slashes left: 6.
—Chrome Digizoid Armor's remaining duration: 3 posts.
—Reprocess [Passive Ability]: Drawing energy from nearby sources, this digimon can gain sustenance and progressively heal its wounds over the course of time, growing stronger in the posts when it's not receiving damage. Can have the side effect of deteriorating the environment in bouts of voraciousness.
—Card Name: Chrome Digizoid Armor Type: Modify Rank: Chrome Digizoid Duration: 3 Posts Effect: The target Digimon gains an armor made from solid Chrome Digizoid for three turns. Resistant to both physical and elemental strikes, it is a deadly efficient defense.

For Amelie, the Siftermon wouldn't be a complete copy - after all, what was duplicated were the forms of her spirits, not the 'investment' that she had put into them - for example, the 'Blaze Blast' that she was so freely utilizing hadn't been known by her opponent, not until this point. But that mattered little: with the smoke rising from both of them, and with the 'armored' Siftermon turning her attention towards the insect clone, the 'shadow' Siftermon started to use her own knowledge.
Namely, that of Shoutmon's recently used attack: an 'arm' was extended out forward, matching the texture of a high-sensitivity microphone, and with an unearthly bellow, she let out her own screech - the sound wave of a Bellow Blaster directed right for the original! If Amelie was going to hide behind a metallic shell, then the copy was going to try something that didn't care too much about physical armor!
As for the Shoutmon mirror match, it seemed that the shadow was quite easily able to get under Shoutmon's skin, the dark copy letting out a laugh! "Hey, it just means that I haven't had anything SOLID to hit yet!" At that, the dragon would begin to sprint forward, just as the dragon would raise that microphone. That reverb of sound echoed out, the copy gritting his teeth as he felt his ears practically blown out by that sound...
... But through tearful eyes, gritted teeth, and adrenaline, he would pull right on through, hopefully within striking distance of the red dragon! With that, he'd give another swing of that microphone, attempting to give a solid hit against the original's chest! "Try doing that again without the air in your lungs!"
Oho - it seemed this Scolomon understood his own abilities quite well. Of course, the 'copy' couldn't do much other than match Rinji's own pace - whoever put 'less' into the voltage would have ended up overwhelmed, the current eventually forced over in their direction. So, instead, both were forced to endure the pain, the chemical nature of the air around them starting to spark and shift, until it eventually culminated in a 'crack' above the two of them. The clone's own body was smoking - just as much as Rinji's - as he gave a chuckle in response.
"Interesting. You've got the same specialty as the ringmaster himself." Looking over the Scolomon's shoulder, the clone gave a 'tsk'. This wasn't the only bit of physics that could be used to his advantage: rolling up into a ball, picking up speed, the clone cut through the Blaze Blast, fire spinning both over and off to the sides - effectively reducing the damage as he moved to try and ram towards the side of the sparking doppelganger!

"Wonderful. Maybe we can all have some tea together when this is over," Rinji replied in deadpan to his clone's remark. Although it brought up several questions. All he knew for now was to keep an eye out for anyone else who used electricity.
"Oh great," he muttered with frustration as the other Scolomon began rolling up to cut through Amelie's fire attack. Did it expect him to run, or simply sit down and take it? Well, he'd give the clone none of that satisfaction.
Maybe he'd take a leaf out of the clone's book. Yes. With grim determination, Rinji waited for the moment the other Scolomon would come rolling out of the fiery typhoon. Then at the last second, he'd lower his head and front body as low to the ground as possible so that it was almost flush to the surface.
Effectively, it was creating a sort of 'ramp' for the clone to roll onto, and it would hopefully be too late for the other Scolomon to change course. Then all he'd have to do to is bend his tail and redirect the rolling ball of terror into the gray Shoutmon. At the same time, he'd attempt to assist the counter with a red spray of laser bullets. As much as he desperately wanted to help Amelie, there wasn't much else he could do in this situation.
Rinji attempts to counter the incoming attack and redirect it into the clone Shoutmon. Rinji uses Scarlet Rain to try and further hurt both the clone Shoutmon and the clone Scolomon while avoiding the real Shoutmon.

Oh, Shoutmon was PISSED. He screamed into his mic as loud as he could, which definitely had an effect on the shadow clone Shoutmon. Heh... to me, a REAL Shoutmon, a sound like this is nothing! Those smug thoughts were soon vanquished as the clone managed to power through it and strike Shoutmon right in his midsection.
The blow caused the Bellow Blaster to stop immediately, and made Shoutmon fly a few feet back, right by Adrian's feet. Said human immediately kneeled down to help is partner up. "Shoutmon! Are you alright?!"
"No... my tummy just got a face... or, stomach-full of microphone!" Shoutmon groaned as he got up, painfully clutching his abdomen. "That jerkhole is going to pay!"
"Wait, Shoutmon," Adrian stopped him. "I think maybe you should switch targets. Aim for Rinji's clone over there." He then pointed towards the grey Scolomon.
"So that way, he won't know what kind of tactics I'm going to pull... good thinking." Recovering from his stomach pain, Shoutmon then leaped back into action, only this time with a new target in mind. He then discovered that Rinji was planning on having his clone roll into the Shoutmon clone. So, he waited until the two collided. As soon as the collision would be over, Shoutmon would run towards the shadow Scolomon, staff raised, and strike the centipede right in the gut.
"Rock and Roller!"
