New Legs [Mikemon and Kids]

A long, exasperated sigh escaped Viktor’s lips. For the better part of a few years, Viktor had been trapped in his own body, a slave to the D-Reaper which controlled him so easily. Just recently, he was broken free, thanks to a friend. But he left different... his entire frame felt different.
”How are you adjusting?”
Genesis asked, watching Viktor adjust as best he could to his new environment. She had been able to pick up and move, it was he who lagged behind in growing use to this.
”I don’t like this.” he answered simply. Which prompted Genesis to giggle. She held out her digivice, the original black camouflage now pink, and the screen reading Viktor, instead of her. After they were broken from the D-Reaper’s control, they swapped places as Tamer and Digimon. Genesis, now a fair skinned, blonde human with the same purple eyes from her Renamon form, lead Viktor, who was a slightly more masculine Renamon who also had those ghostly blue eyes from his human form.
Genesis giggled again, truly she was happy about this! She had been his partner for so long, now she was the boss. Viktor listener to her! Or at least, she thought he would! He wanted to go see some doctor in a Library who helped them before after a D-Reaper incursion. It only made sense that he’d go see him again:
”So, fox boy, do you think this ‘Mikemon’ can help us? I heard he married your girl!”
Viktor rolled his eyes, twitching his newly form ear, ”She wasn’t and has never been my girl. If anything she’s yours... And stop calling me that.”
Genesis shrugged, bopping Viktor on those nose, ”Whatever helps you sleep at night, fox boy”
Viktor sighed and pushed the doors open to the Library, then walked to the Desk. Speaking to the Stingmon receptionist;
”I need to see Doctor Mikemon? No appointment, just... an old ‘friend’”
The armored Digimon, in it’s general muted green and black form, looked up from his computer and turned his head in a very... bug like manner;
”Certainly, the tower is just this way.” he spoke with that same ‘metallic’ voice all masked Digimon had. As though he was talking into a can.
He stood up, towering over the duo and led them, walking past endless aisles of books marked in both Human and Script. A selection likely as vast as the library itself, Viktor was guessing. Soon, after climbing a hefty amount of stairs, the receptionist knocked on a door and entered;
”Doctor? I have a visitor. He said you were old...” he cleared his throat, ”...Friends. I’ll leave him with you.”
Genesis chuckled and leaned back, watching Viktor step forward;
”Hello again, Doc. Just so you don’t have to jog your memory, we’re from the mission on the Island. And we’re Kajunemon, the fox you healed after the D-Reaper incident in the Dark Area... We... I need your help.”

"Alright, come back again next month. And keep in touch of that leg gets any worse."
Before Stingmon would bring the tamer-and-Digimon duo in, they would find themselves crossing paths with another - a Biyomon and her tamer, both of which simply kept their heads down, giving a small nod to those heading the other direction as they headed on out. Thankfully, with that whole matter with the Raguelmon sorted out, business was finally starting to move as usual - and between appointments, the cat's secretary though it was wise to drop someone in for a walk-in?
"... Well, I have time, I suppose." With a nod, both Genesis and Viktor would be allowed in, but at a glance, Mikemon didn't recognize either of them. His ear twitched a bit at that description, and... no, he still didn't recognize them, because that didn't add up.
That didn't make sense.
But with a brief glance at their data, the cat gave a blink... and, summarily, planted his head right against his desk with a thud.
"Alright. The fu... the heck did you do for this to happen... 'Viktor'?"

The reaction gained from Mikemon was one Viktor anticipated, but still didn’t have a ‘proper’ reaction for. He rubbed his arm, an almost uncharacteristic blush tinged his muzzle from the sudden examination of the body he was ashamed of. He sighed, clearing that embarrassment away;
”I was a D-Reaper agent for... sometime. I just woke up after Cas helped free me. I don’t know why, but when I woke up, I was like this.”
He held up his ‘hands’ to emphasize his point, then took a seat across from the Doctor. All the while Genesis was looking through his assortment of medical books with not a care in the world. Mikemon could have easily surmised this was a one-party issue. The fox leaned forward, with ‘familiar’ eyes and peered into the feline;
”If it helps, we were told it was a clean switch. She’s as much human as I was. I’m as much Renamon as she was.”
Genesis shrugged, flipping through a medical book and pursed her lips;
”Really only a problem for you. I’m liking this!”
”We can’t digivolve, Genesis. We can’t fight anything. We’re helpless.”
Genesis clapped the book shut and set it back where she found it, then walked over, leaning on the doctor’s desk;
”No. YOU can’t digivolve. YOU can’t find. YOU’RE helpless. For once, I’m the one in control, and it so much better. He can learn to Digivolve, right Doc?”
Viktor sighed, this wasn’t how he planned his return to freedom.

Right, this. Just this.
Mikemon didn't know how else to describe it in his head. After Haru's reincarnation, he didn't think things could get much more bizarre - but somehow another one of Cassandra's experiments landed on his doorstep? Though this one seemed to be a much more instant 'snap' than becoming an egg.
How? Why? This, again, wasn't exactly something that Dr. Mikemon dealt with on a normal basis... did he even have a guess? He mulled over the situation in his head - pulling back the book as Genesis put it down. "Sit down, already. I'm trying to think, and you two bickering isn't helping it much."
Right. Briefly straining his eyes, he first looked towards Viktor, then to Genesis... trying to make sense of just what happened. Both were the wrong species, but: "A cursory examination of your cores suggest that... hm... there's no human data found in the Renamon body. And no Digimon data found in the human body, either." That much was, honestly, within Mikemon's expectations. "Really, this entire situation simply makes me question how permeable the conscious is to the core. What concerns me more than Digivolving is the sheer instability of such a transformation. I do remember there was some work done, quite a long time ago, about Digimon switching minds with their partners..."
So would that make this an easy fix? "Provided they aren't defunct now, at least. That might have used temporary measures anyway - though if you two are so easy to 'flip', its likely a 'flip back' isn't exactly impossible."
How they would go about that, though? "Though that's just me shooting words off the hip. I know a lot, but this is beyond my normal paygrade."

Well... this was no good. Mikemon has an idea, but really didn’t know what to make of the situation. How could he? Everything was so different like this and was probably not something most doctors could really give a diagnosis, he spoke of the mind swap, and Viktor tucked his tail a bit:
”I’m familiar... more than you know. It’s definitely defunct and not a solution we want.”
”Or want... listen, this is the Fox’s problem. I’m fine.”
Viktor only sighed again, knowing any inquiry otherwise would lead to an argument that would only set the Doctor off. Something else Viktor didn’t need. He needed the doctor on his side. With a sigh, Viktor pushed off the desk and stood up, then looked to Mikemon;
”Thanks anyway, I’ll figure something out.”
Genesis scoffed and turned to leave, but stopped short as the Stingmon entered the room;
”Doctor, your children are here for their checkups. Should I bring them in?”
Genesis chuckled, ”Well, I didn’t know you were so involved with K! Maybe I should leave Viktor here to get a checkup too!”
Viktor only sighed and shook his head, he didn’t need a checkup. He knew he was fine. He needed a solution to be human again.

"No, you're not fine."
Mikemon's defiance to Genesis' tone was swift, and perhaps to Viktor's benefit. "You, 'tamer', are now in a body that won't even last another 50 years - and once that's gone, you won't return back as a Digi-egg. You might think its 'fun' for now, but you're a creature who was never supposed to be bound by a mortal coil. And this is before we consider how unstable this reaction is. For all we know, the only 'line' that could be holding you together could be a randomly scrawled line of code."
"This is a fluke," Mikemon concluded. "I'll keep in touch if I find any answers - and yes, I wish you the best of luck."
It sounded like it was about to be the end of it - but, ugh, Stingmon, the timing was just bad! "Viktor's fine. Sorry, I overestimated how much time I had for this walk-in. Stingmon, please see these two out - and yes, I'll see my kids in, now. Siris is first, I think?"
He gave a nod, and in that brief respite, gave a lean back, pinching his sinus. "Hoo boy... going to have to get Cas' full story on this one..."

That was that, then. They were both on borrowed time and the only way to fix it was to return to their normal selves. Genesis scoffed, rolling her eyes at Mikemon;
”You yourself said this was above your pay grade. Now you’re an expert. Give me a break.”
Viktor sighed, yet again, and started heading out, only to bump into another Renamon. A quick glare into the younger fox have him an eerie since of familiarity. Like he knew this kid. But, that was a conversation for another day. He didn’t want to be part of this storm Genesis was trying to start.
The now human Genesis crossed her arms, as though she was refusing to be me moved. Not paying attention to Viktor leaving and Siris entering. She turned to the young fox and gestured;
”Come on, Vik. We’re leave- Hmm? Wait. You...”
She leaned forward, examining the pup with an eye of a past Renamon, then squinted as she took his face in her hand, turning him a bit forcibly;
”Who are you...?”
Siris folded his ears, unsure why this stranger was moving him about in such a manner;
”D...Dad?”
He looked to Mikemon, still confused!
Viktor, on the other hand, sat down in the lobby. Stingmon was showing some Blackgatomon a selection of maps in the human world. Viktor looked over, and Stingmon spoke;
”Hmm? Through already?”
Viktor didn’t answer, as he was pinching his sinus and leaning forward, thinking of the mess he was in and how he’d fix it. Stingmon looked to Syre, then looked at the fox again, realizing it was the other one that was... ‘broken’.
Something strange was going on here.

"Right. I'll see you in a month or two when the dread starts to hit. Then you might take this seriously."
Mikemon knew how to handle 'customers' like Genesis. As Viktor already turned to leave, Mikemon pointed towards the door, very much wanting this 'personality' out if his office. And yes, heading out, they would pass Siris, Viktor bumping right into him. The awkward scene that followed made the cat wave over to Siris. "Son, c'mon in. And we've talked about this before, don't just wait right in front of doors like that. Apologize, then we'll take care of the check-up."
Sorted and done, right? As his secretary looked towards the mercenary fox the doctor - already tried of it all - gave a point. "I'll see it from here. See these two out, and no-charge this visit."
"Hmm..." Focused on that Atlas, the BlackGatomon gave a blink, looking up - giving almost a double-take at the rougher-looking Renamon. Huh, that felt... familiar, somehow?

Crossed arms and squinted eyes. Genesis was wary of the Doctor and his... 'son'. No doubt that something was very much amiss. This Renamon was a spitting image of Viktor in the same form, all the way down to the minuet fur patterns. Maybe Mikemon didn't see it, but Genesis was a Renamon before... it was as clear as the difference between him and his daughter. She closed the door and looked to Mikemon;
"I think... you might need to talk to K, Doc." she said in a purposefully vague manner, trying to get her foot in the door for a more... open conversation. But she knew this cat, or his type anyway, he likely would hide from anything resembling the truth.
Siris, after doing as his father instructed, was tilting his head. Unsure what was really going on. He sat up a bit as the human examined him from afar now, and when she turned to his dad to make that statement, the young fox only tilted his head. What exactly did she mean?
Viktor, on the other hand, was sitting, looking down at his 'hands' and only sighing. Everything was dialed to eleven like this. His senses were hypersensitive, he could hear the Blackgatomon tap the globe with her claw and the Stingmon breathing under his mask. He could smell the very pages of the books and colors around him seemed... muted, yet there were no shadows. He looked over as the Stingmon rose up, patting the BlackGatomon on her head and entering the office.
"Behave, okay? Go over what we said. I want all these countries here by this body of water by the time I return. Got it?" the armored bugman said as he entered the office to assist with the unruly human.
Viktor couldn't help but look over. An understanding of the human world offered little to a Digimon who didn't seek to live there. But, anyone thirsting for knowledge would find a lot to drink from when exploring the Human World's history

Sheesh, that insufferable 'Renamon' was still here?
It wasn't that Mikemon wasn't interested in what Genesis had to say, it was that he wasn't listening at all. Her attitude just moments prior had put the doctor off, such that he simply wanted to be on his way for the rest of the day. The Mikemon merely shot a glare in the tamer's direction, before returning to his son, with a smile.
"Don't worry about them. Now..." Pulling up a small mallet, he gave a nod: "I'm just going to test your reflexes, here." It was simple enough, and just the start of a quick medical check-up of his son - who, in the wild, would likely have never gone through something like this before!
Outside, Syre's attention flickered away from the globe and towards Viktor. Dang it, there was just something so familiar about him... but what? Her back straightened, fur standing on edge as Stingmon caught her 'slacking off'! "Er... right!" And with that - with Viktor likely watching - she turned her focus solely on that glove.
"Ukraine... Russia... Georgia... Turkey..."

Genesis sat in the corner, only rolling her eyes and watching as the Fox even had some of Viktor's mannerisms! This was too obvious, yet... she still wasn't sure. She was... certain that something happened. But what? She didn't know. Even still, this kid that looked strikingly like Viktor unnerved her a bit. Even still, Mikemon couldn't ignore the mirror image! She was half surprised he didn't mistake Viktor for Siris! The fox-now-human sighed and pulled out her digivice, checking in soldemly and pressing a few buttons. Might as well keep herself occupied while those two did their thing.
Which Siris did very well, if he was telling the truth! Sitting on the desk for his father to test his reflexes, the young fox kicked slightly at the touch of the mallet, then smiled a bit. He chuckled, "That... sort of tickles. Is that normal?"
He kept his eyes locked on his father, but did look over at the somewhat familiar face of the human... where did he know her? Maybe she picked up her digimon the same time he was born? No, that wasn't it. Perhaps he ran into her while he and his sister was in Terminus? Yeah, that had to be it!
Viktor leaned over, unintentionally listening to the kitten point to the globe, wrongly, but it was still close. He decided he would help. It was the least he could do, afterall;
"That one there is Ukraine. That one is Georgia." he said, pointing to the correct countries, then rolled his shoulder; "Why learn about the Human World? From what does a Digimon gain?"
Spoken like he wasn't one himself!

"A tickle? A tingling down the leg is exactly what you should feel, for something like this." The doctor gave a nod and a smile, briefly testing the other leg, giving a nod towards the likely similar reaction. From there, he'd go through the more typical steps: listening to his breathing, taking a feel for his pulse, and even taking a careful look into the fox's ears. Wild as Siris was, the doctor had to make sure everything was on the up-and-up, even if it wasn't inherently obvious.
Naturally, that pushed Mikemon's focus on Genesis and Viktor off into the background - honestly, he figured that Stingmon would have already made them vacate the premises. This, of course, left Viktor alone with Syre, though the cat was now-too-focused to have any of her attention on the Renamon...
... Until he spoke up, that is! "Nyah?" Taking a look under the post-its put under the names, the cat gave a small laugh, ears folded flat on her head. "Nyah... well, at least its not as many as the states... hm?" Wasn't that a curious question? Syre tilted her head: "Well, not so much about the countries' names, but isn't it just natural to want to know more about what humans... 'are', I guess?" Did that make enough sense? "I mean, why do you know so much about it, yourself?"
She could turn it right back around, of course! Back in the observation room, Mikemon gave a nod, putting the tools away. "Alright, good so far, Siris. Now just a quick glance at your core data and we can wrap this up!" With a nod, his eyes would tense, looking deep into the layers of the Renamon's data...

Only now did Viktor realize his more vulpine form. The cat wasn’t speaking to the usual scarred and gruff human... she was talking to a regular Renamon. This would warrant a sigh from the fox as he leaned back, shaking his head:
”Would you believe I used to be human? Far fetched as it might be?”
Syre might have thought it was a joke, but the Renamon’s cd expression didn’t change. He pointed back to the globe;
”I was born here.” he talked Ukraine with a claw, a little harder than he would have liked, but this body was still new. Whether Syre believed him or not...? Well, that was her own introspection.
Genesis, on the other hand, managed to keep the assistant Stingmon busy with a fake help report on the first floor. When she pulled her device to fidget with it, she sent that call. Likely he prioritized it as the duo weren’t causing immediate harm. He also likely didn’t tell Mikemon, as he figured he could handle it.
”Well? What do you see?” she asked a little more eagerly than she should have.
Siris, on the other hand, only sat back, looking at the ceiling as he finally inquired Genesis;
”So... uh... how’s it being a human? Or having a Renamon as a partner?”
Genesis shrugged, the kid was cute, but she didn’t want to entertain falsehoods; ”It’s good. Far outweighes being a Digimon!” she said with a bit of a laugh.
Siris only looked to his father. What did she mean by that?

"Oh?"
This Renamon was born a human? Syre's head gave a short tilt at that, as if to see if there was any way she could tell, just from her rudimentary eyes as a Digimon. At the very least, it didn't seem like he was lying, so she simply returned a chuckle: "Maybe? I mean, dad's not the type to take simple patients, so it would explain why you're out here to begin with." She actually seemed more interested as the fox tapped down on 'Ukraine' - a place she simply knew by name! "Oh? What's it like, there?" The cat was curious!
As for the doctor? Mikemon's eyes were, indeed, looking deep into Siris' data, the feline's ear twitching as Genesis - again - rudely spoke up as if she had something important to say. Siris might be somewhat entertained, but by this point, the doctor's patience was tempered. What was she talking about, anyway? Siris' data seemed clean as a whistle - yes, there was 'something' buzzing in the back of his head. But how was he supposed to focus on it with her speaking up?
"Do I look like I'm here to entertain you, 'Genesis'?" The cat shook his head, and looked to the door. "Viktor? Your tamer's not helping out here. Mind giving me a hand?"

The human-turned-fox leaned back, thinking of his homeland. He could only really remember it as he was a child and not much past that, given he hadn't been there in many years;
"Cold. Grey and lots of snow." he sighed and continued; "My actual hometown suffered a terrible accident, the city is a ghost town now."
He was, of course, speaking of Chernobyl. Being born a few years before the accident, it would give the cat an idea of how old the human was, when she read about it. But as he entertained the child, he heard Mikemon shouting, saying his 'tamer' was not helping. He winced a bit at that, a reminder that he wasn't in control of the digivice anymore. He stood up and looked to the Kitten;
"When or if I'm human again, I'll tell you more about it." he spoke through a hint of frustration at Genesis, and a little at her being called the tamer.
As he entered, Genesis was leaning on the wall, then shrugged;
"No you're purposefully ignoring it!" She pointed at Viktor, then gestured to Siris.
"Compare them! Eyes, face shape, fur pattern. Siris is a spitting image of Viktor!"
To this, Viktor rolled his eyes and placed a paw on Genesis' shoulder; "You have human eyes now, we probably all look the same." he spoke, trying to reason with his partner. Genesis only shrugged him away and grabbed Viktor's arm, then pulled his purple sleeve up, revealing a bare arm with a single symbol on the outside of his hand. A simple semicircle cutting in, then out. The symbol of the Ronin of the Skies. A mark of disgrace.
Viktor pulled away, pulling his sleeve back up, almost embarrassed by the action as Siris blinked;
"Y-you're related to Kajunemon?"
Genesis crossed her arms, "Oh? You know of our form? Good! That only proves more to my point!"
Viktor pushed Genesis and sighed; "I am Kajunemon. Mikemon knows this, as does a great deal many people."
Siris looked to his dad, almost as if asking permission to talk to the fox!
