This is an MPC 55X, namely number 37 - Mon. Digi mon. I will be doing a double entry with this account and Archon .
For this account, I would like bits.
For Archon's account, I would like posts.
The skies were awash with dark grey clouds, tinted with an eerie, deadly red tinge. Thunder was frequent here, as well as flashes of lightning that illuminated the skies above, but there was no rain. Nor plantlife. The landscape was barren and charred; duststorms of ash blew in the high winds. They did not call this the Dark Area for no reason, and its reputation was in every way the real deal.
All of a sudden, there in the wastes, a strange glowing green circle suddenly appeared. This circle had an otherworldly appearance to it - a strange phenomenon that resembled something like a black hole. And through this hole, a figure seemed to... step through it, stepping onto the scorched land, before the circle disappeared.
So... this was the Dark area, eh? Enkidu's yellow eyes flashed around the landscape with a sense of foreboding. The BlackGaomon was dressed in what he hoped would be an outfit that would be believable for such a place. A simple oversized black hoodie, with the hood drawn over his head. The story he was to tell anyone that asked was that "he got it from a human", which would hopefully end any and all inquiry about that. Of course, as well as that, there was the standard gear of boxing gloves and a red bandana.
Enkidu was relatively large for a rookie level. Where most others at this stage barely broke three feet, Enkidu stood a respectable 4'2" in height. That and he had plenty of bulk in his physical fighting prowess, as well as being covered in thick black and white fur, well, that should also ward off the dark digimon that live here, prevent them getting too nosy.
Enkidu momentarily took out a small gadget from his hoodie pocket - a small digital map of the area. He manipulated it slightly, searching for which direction to go in, then found it. Fragment Village. Pretty much the only thing one would call a 'civilization' down these parts. But civilization it was, and that was the place of Enkidu's target.
As the BlackGaomon put his map away and began to walk toward the village, his briefing circled through his head. Enkidu was here for a specific purpose - to find information beneficial to his organization. AEGIS.
Some digimon might call him a traitor, working for a human organization. Especially when he had no partner of his own. But, on the other hand, Enkidu found AEGIS to be honorable, honest, fair, and, hell, he could do with a job that paid well. Plus he was fine with the people that ran it. The leader, Sophie James, was young, but meant well. And her partner Lantis, well, as much of a stoic rook he could be when he was being professional, well, Enkidu found that over drinks after work one day, Lantis was worried about Sophie's wellbeing. That the work to keep AEGIS afloat was crushing her. And Enkidu didn't want to let them down. So he accepted this mission.
"We've heard reports of increasing activity from a group of digimon that call themselves MONSTER" Sophie had told him. "Apparently it stands for Movement of Noncompliant Society Terminating Earth Rule"
"If you ask me they could do with a better acronym" Lantis had quipped.
"So could we to be honest" Enkidu had joked. While AEGIS worked well as a name, as an acronym, it... eh, didn't have quite the punch that DATS did in his opinion. Lantis gave a playful frown at him before the briefing continued.
"As you know, MONSTER has been increasing its activity in response to increasing amount of human activity in the digital world" Sophie continued. "They blame the threat of the D-Reaper and Control Spires squarely on humans. Knowledge is limited on those things, which I regret, but, I heard a report that there's MONSTER operatives in Fragment Village in the Dark Area. Of course, as a human I can't go, as a digimon linked with my digivice Lantis can't go, so, the job will have to go to you, Enkidu".
"Of course" Enkidu had sighed. There it was. He just couldn't have been born just a regular everyday Gaomon could he? Nope, he had to be one of those weird virus attribute mutations that everyone assumed was evil. Well, to hell with them. Screwing over the real evil guys should show what side he's on.
"Sorry about that, but, this mission would be completely voluntary, you only will go if you want to" Sophie had assured him. "If you choose to accept, your mission will be to go to Fragment Village, find one of these MONSTER operatives, get any information you can from them, then leave. Alright?"
"Sure, I can do that" Enkidu said.
"We're glad" Lantis added. "All the signs are there that MONSTER is planning a major operation soon, so any intelligence we can gather would be imperative".
And from there, Enkidu had been given what little equipment he was allowed to carry, sent into a digital portal, then landed here. So, without further ado, the BlackGaomon proceeded toward the village he could see in the distance, his breath sharpening at every step as he wondered what would be in there.
