The meicoomon's ears flicked a little bit and she'd furrow her brow slightly as that 'danger' slowly slipped away as that presence made itself known. A creature made out of shadow, something that she had never seen before. It looked... very strange to her to the point of where she stopped to take a few moments to inspect what she was looking at.
At that nod it had her attention, furrowing her brow further she'd slowly tilt her head as they explained out. What they had been doing in the fields, on patrol... But the last few days they had been tailing her? The meicoomon didn't know what that meant exactly in the long scope of things. But it was something that felt... kinda off.
"My sister heard something, I didn't. Thought it was a bit strange. And you have? Why? Oh. And I'm holly. Nice to meet you Iris?"
Then came something else she wasn't expecting, that the other wanted to talk to her about something. Biting her lip she weighed her options for a few moments and an ear would flick. There was a lot wrong about this situation but... Well. Opportunities came from the strangest places; they happened all the time in those fantasy books she had read.
"Sudden, a bit strange and a few other things come to mind. But... I'd honestly be lying if I said you didn't have my attention."
Though her guard had lowered only a fraction this didn't stop the meicoomon from watching this creature in front of her with a frown quite clear on her lips. Some things still weren't adding up to her, and her ears swiveling every which way was showing she hadn't really lowered her guard in the slightest...

"Mm. Likewise."
He'd return a nod, at least aware of Holly's discomfort - but really, who wouldn't be suspicious of him? Heck, the Meicoomon's words even got a chuckle out of the shadow creature. "Strange and sudden are words I'd use to describe a lot of my allies. But, I suppose I'll get right down to the point: you have an interesting 'instinct' about you, Holly." Exactly what did he mean?
"Direct, clever, efficient. Unrefined, but willing to improve - and more than anything, inventive"
Alright, those were all compliments, but what exactly was he getting at? The Shademon circled around in a quarter-circle, keeping a careful eye on the Meicoomon. "I'd like to extend an invitation to you. To a group that would value your natural talent for 'slipping in for a quick strike'. To put it in a word?"
His gaze flicked to the hill, then back to Holly.
"Assassin."

Holly shifted slowly and found her brow furrowing slowly. Strange and sudden were what he would describe a lot of his allies? They would then follow suit with telling her that she had an interesting 'instinct' which made her only get a touch nervous. Then even further did he explain that she was Direct, clever, efficient, unrefined but willing to improve... and inventive.
He certainly was tailing her for a few days if he picked up all of that, did he perhaps see the practice she did with her father a few days ago? She looked like she wanted to say something but simply stayed silent watching the Shademon as he circled her. She was on the back-foot here honestly and after a moment she'd bite her lip.
An invitation to her?
To a group that would value her natural talent, to slip in a quick strike... Then he followed through the job's name in a simple term. The meicoomon slowly opened and closed her mouth; her brow furrowed a little bit and she'd scratch at her head.
"An invitation to a group of people that... Are Assassins. I... You certainly were spot on in all your assessments of me, but... Why me? You have to know of..."
But there was a small pause, a flicker of interest and the meicoomon shifted slightly biting on her lip. But this... group would help her train right? Help her learn stuff she needed to know to protect others. Her da had explained quite well about this sort of thing before and she'd sigh just a little bit. Questions plagued her mind, and she could see a lot of things yawning up in front of her.
"So lets say that. In hypothetical nature here, that I said Yes. What next? And in the same vein were I to say the opposite?"

"Mm, we do know of you, through your test and your practice with your father. You're more talented at this then you give yourself credit for."
Turning his attention back to Holly, the shade would listen to the Meicoomon's curious question - and he'd give a chuckle. "Well, in the former case, I'd call you a fool and you'd never see me again. In the latter, I'd thank you for your time and continue my patrol of the fields." A fair answer, in either case. "But for someone like you, who could seriously consider the offer? Well, I want you to at least think about it."
"Hm... nothing at all, I guess..."
Well, Syre was about to come back as it was. With a blink, the Shademon would give a short nod and - less viciously than before - simply slip forward, attempting to calmly meld into Holly's shadow. I'll simply remain here, while you think about it. His voice would radiate, in the back of Holly's head. For now, finish up your exercise. I'll simply wait here.
The darkness of the shadow would fade, becoming almost invisible against the grass, as Syre slipped back down the hill, giving a nod towards the Meicoomon. "Must have been something flying by. You ready to keep going?"

"The test really opened up more doors than I could of ever known huh... And really that too? I... Thank you."
The meicoomon frowned a little bit, when people gave compliments you thanked them. That's just how things went. She'd furrow her brow as he explained out the difference between her answers; the first one making her seem like a fool and the second well...
"There's a lot to consider in your offer as a baseline, and you haven't really presented a whole lot of information for me to give a really solid yes or no answer. But as someone that doesn't like opportunities to pass them by without giving them a serious thoughtful pause? I need to know more and if you want me to give a good proper answer? Well you need to provide something for me to work off of at some point."
The meicoomon flicked her ear as she heard her sister speak. Holly stared down at the shademon as they slip forward, calmly going to meld into her shadow. She wouldn't move, figuring that if he did want to hurt her he wouldn't of talked about it like that. Then those words radiated in the back of her head making her stiffen just a little bit. She didn't know he could do that!
Okay that's pretty cool. All right all right.
The shademon would find that a lot of her head was filled with knowledge from all sorts of books. Ranging from the simple to the surprisingly advanced; knowledge and understanding was practically everywhere... The little patterns of her mind were laid bare. It was.... far different than any could really expect at a simple glance.
She'd scratch at her head and nod a little bit looking as though she had been antsy. Her claws slipped back into her paws and she'd grin up at her sister.
"yeah! c'mon lets get goin~"
With a bounce in her step she'd start up, getting to the base of the hill; reaching out to playfully nudge at her sister splitting a toothy grin at her before trotting up the hill!
"Maybe it was an fan of yours!"

"Heh, eager to hit the trail again, aren't you?"
The BlackGatomon would give a grin - and nudge right back against Holly at her joke, as they would slip right back from a trot back to their run. Syre was once more wearing those ankle weights, so her stride was a bit more pronounced than usual, but she was still able to keep her humor! "Nah, more like one of yours, you smart cat!" It had been long enough from the test that she'd be able to joke about it!
And thus, Iris would recede further into the Meicoomon's shadow, mostly silent as Holly and Syre enjoyed each-other's company. Surely, it wouldn't be good to distract the Meicoomon while she was running. No, the most she would feel was a presence at the back of her head, perhaps simply observing from the shadow, or the corruption cat's own eyes.
About an hour later, the two would return to the library, Syre giving an idle wave to the Stingmon as she once-more took off her weights. "Ugh, I'm beat... I'm gonna go cool off and get a nap in..."

"Well yeah! Can't take too long of a break can I? Or this training wouldn't be good for me!"
The meicoomon snickered a little bit and keep pace with syre fairly well. Honestly though they had taken quite a bit of time as a 'break' even allowing Holly to pick up a new individual during the 'search'. Though she'd keep that to herself, she sort of felt if she told anyone that she'd be in a bad way. Something more private. Seemed weird to her for a moment but that was pushed to the side as syre made a returning joke at her about her having a fan.
"Pft! I don't think so!"
The meicoomon snickered again and kept at the training, enjoying her time with her sister as they went. She could feel that prescence in the back of her head; if he looked through her eyes he would likely feel the tug as they moved, shifted and swept from location to location.
Even when running she was checking out places for her 'stealth' training. The entire run was filled to the brim with this, as she bet that her father would want to move locations to keep her guessing on it rather than making her get used to one place. Holly would stretch once they were back to the library, she had to agree with her sister that a nap sounded nice. But she was hungry too.
"I think I might have a snack and then take one myself! It was a lot of fun syre, thanks~"
The little meicoomon would give her sister a hug and bound off to the kitchen to fix herself a snack. Quickly eating it before returning to her room proper. She would make sure to close the door, firmly locking it and flopping back onto her bed staring up at the ceiling for a few long moments. She was curious and had questions still...
Well this is my room. About as private as it gets around here...

Well, it seemed like it was set up to be a lazy afternoon! Syre would give a wave off to Holly, and set off to her own room, as the Meicoomon grabbed a snack and headed back on up herself.
With the door locked, and that thought directed towards Iris, the Shademon would stir, shadow darkening as the champion level partially emerged. "A bit plain?" He spoke, but kept his voice low, a remarkably flat tone given as it didn't echo off of a single wall. "Hm. Just to be secure, I'll remain in your shadow for the time being. Now, I believe you had asked for an explanation, earlier."
Once more, the Shademon would recede, that voice echoing in Holly's head. Simply put, I am part of a group of skilled mercenaries who practice in the more 'secretive' arts of the Digital World. Assassination is our main asset, of course - we're employed to remove threats from the cities of the world before a proper fight can break out.
And really, that was the first major point: If Digimon always fought at full power, the cities would be reduced to rubble almost daily. Our 'subtle' action prevents undue damage, and largely keeps the public calm in face of what could have been a potential disaster.

"I don't need much stuff. The library has plenty of books and... study material."
The meicoomon blinked a little bit and looked around flicking her ear as that flat tone didn't carry at all. She'd furrow her brow and slowly nod her head as he told her that he'd remain in her shadow for the time being. Along with an explanation.
"Makes sense. Easier that way. And yes, if you could..."
The meicoomon laid back on the bed, staring up at the ceiling as the Shademon explained that they were part of a group of mercenaries. Who practiced in a more secretive art of the digital world. Their primary asset was assassination, which was in plain killing individuals. But they were employed to remove threats from cities so that fights would break out, saving countless lives and stopping conflicts before they could arise.
It sounded like something that was sorely needed, if every fight went to the extreme there wasn't much that they could do as anything too strong could bend the fabric of the digital world into pieces. The meicoomon took in every bit of the information, mulling it over. Thinking it through, the shademon getting a front row seat to her methods.
It's something that not a lot of people would be comfortable hearing about in practice but not hearing about it and having it work? Well. That makes people safer huh... Saving many by sacrificing a few choice individuals; I'm familiar with the concept. It's a constant theme in human books. I would consider it distasteful if... It didn't make so much sense. There sounds like there is more.

Well. Its not something we do lightly, of course.
Holly's soft-spoken concern was easily understood by the Shademon, but Iris would explain that their job wasn't so simple. Research. Reconnaissance. Eavesdropping - reading the truths and the lies as they're presented in front of us. Its not as simple as mere violence - we have to be certain in both our actions and our targets.
That much would likely ring well with Holly, the Shademon carefully gauging the Meicoomon's reaction. I sensed it from your hesitation from sparring with your father. You aren't the violent type - but honestly, most of us in our group aren't that type, either. We can stand up and dig out feet in if we need to, but we'd rather not resort to such brutality.
Efficiency. Necessity. Certainty. Once these traits are held in mind, one can move, effectively, without hesitation. And you certainly have the tools to do so.

Taking a life comes with a lot of weight. How could it not?
She was still concerned but the shademon slowly continued to explain. They did research, they did reconnassance, they eavesdropped. Telling the truth's from lies as they were presented. It wasn't simple, it was a complex system they worked in. The shademon didn't realize it but at that point he had fixed the bait perfectly. The younger mon's more malleable personality and acceptance working in tandum for a few long moments before he addressed another issue.
I... Have trouble doing that sort of thing, it hurts to think about it in a way. R-really? That... That makes a lot of sense honestly and... sounds a lot better than my first thoughts about it.
Holly blinked a little bit as he then continued, speaking about efficiency. Necessity, certainty. Traits that they would need and that they could develop. She fidgeted a bit and laid her head back staring still at the ceiling.
Just in general huh? Simple words, things that can be said... I hesitated a lot in those trainings it's.. It's exactly what I said before but if you really think I have the tools...?
The meicoomon furrowed her brow and fidgeted just a little bit.
All of this... sort of stuff makes a lot of sense to me, you tell it very straightforward and in an easy fashion to understand. But what I want to know. There is a few questions I have, would I be working for a set group or just as I'm needed? And...
This is quite a lot to take in all at once, but I think after hearing all of that I've reached my decision.

Not everyone has every trait to start off with, Holly. But you have a decent enough sense of the basics for us to consider you.
It was vague, but this was Iris' way of showering praise onto the Meicoomon. He could already feel her tone start to shift, considering just what he said, just what they stood for. He gave a bit of a mental 'nod' as Holly asked if she had the tools. Her first question wasn't difficult to answer, either: As a group, of course - especially as our dear fledgling.
But it seemed that Holly had already made a decision.
And Iris already knew what that decision was.
Hm. I know its not an easy one to make, Holly. In a week or so, we will be sending a formal invitation - in the meantime, I am going to help to refine your senses, to bring you 'up to speed' on where we expect a new recruit to be. Of course, this came with a caveat: The next few times you sleep, you might have to get used to that feeling...

That makes sense to me.... and well. I suppose if I didn't you wouldn't of approached me.
Holly sighed a little bit, the praise that he was showering her made her shift. She enjoyed it even if it was from strangers, or well someone that she could say was somewhat of a stranger even if she knew the bare basics about them.
That's good to know I wouldn't be working alone; even in... well like that.
She didn't really even have to voice her decision to the shademon, he already knew. So he explained that in a week there would be a letter and during that week he would help refine her senses, bringing her up to speed where they needed or expected them to be.
Then came a part where she quirked her brow to. She'd have to get used to a feeling in the next few times she slept? She'd open and close her mouth before furrowing her brow. She wanted to ask what but she already more or less agreed to this; so as far as it went she'd have to just learn firsthand what he meant.
All right. Well I'm going to be napping here shortly... Though honestly it might turn into an actual sleep. I might have a lot of energy but somethings are a lot more draining than others...
The meicoomon sighed, she was very curious about what he'd be doing that required her to be sleeping for the most part. But the edge of fatigue was gripping at her mind; she didn't have very long before she'd be passing out anyways...

Well, we all need our rest...
At the edge of fatigue, the Shademon wasn't going to keep her up. He simply fell into silence, allowing Holly the chance to slip off to bed, to first get a nice nap in - and, eventually later that night, a full sleep. The Shademon wasn't lying, of course: the sensation of him 'adjusting' her senses was one that might make her toss and turn for a bit, and even interfere with her dreams. Most likely, she'd find herself off in the wilds, or sneaking between buildings, trying to chase something or not be caught.
Well, those were mere dreams, anyway, things that would be forgotten a few minutes after waking up. And the next day, and the one after that, were much the same, until Mikemon would once more take her out for field training. "What do you think? Exercise with Syre helping you out at all?"
The Mikemon gave a grin, giving a confident nod towards the Meicoomon. "Well, I'll let you start us off. Anything in particular you want to practice?"

Yeah... true...
The meicoomon did enjoy her nap, and at that full sleep later than night she'd learn what he meant. There were adjustments she wasn't aware of, making her dreams go one way or the other. Emotions, sensations and such making her somewhat breathless when she woke up. She wouldn't really remember them and she'd blink a few times placing a hand to her head.
It'd take a few days for her to get used to it, the one prior to the mikemon's training was when she wouldn't toss and turn. She'd stretch a little bit and flick her ears staring quietly at her Da for a moment. Getting a big grin she'd nod!
"Yeah! she even gave a few ideas of her own to help me practice too!"
The meicoomon paused for a moment and considered what the mikemon wanted from her in their first training. She'd hum to herself, figuring that she had put in a bit of practice for some of them. Well might as well see how she compared to before...
"The stealth practice and that plank one come to mind Da."
She was also curious if what the Shademon had done to her had affected anything really; the subtle way that he had been doing things made sure she hadn't really noticed a thing past the first few minutes of her being awake!
