Yet another MPC done - a Wildcard for Sick Leave
I'd like posts for this please!
It had been a chilly evening on ElDoradimon, the massive turtle passing thru the Eastern Timberlands, near the border to the Northern Prominence. Tiny snowflakes would drift down, though it was not cold enough for them to remain - melting as quickly as they collected on the streets of the great city as the numerous digimon whom lived here, or were visiting, went about their day. Some were bundled up as to ward off the chill, others remained indoors to avoid even having to deal with the chill in the first place, and others yet were reveling in it - the digimon more adapted to such cold happily going about their days thru the city.
It seemed as though it was a pretty normal day for many who lived here... -
"A-ACHOO!"
- .... Or at least, for most digimon who lived here. Sadly, as with many of the digimon who had to stay inside or otherwise bundle up to deal with the cold, there were the handfuls who were getting sick; a nasty little bug going around. And today, it seemed that poor little Vulin had caught it, the young Koromon miserably bundled up in his nest under layers of blankets. For the past day he had been feeling feverish, stuffy, and lethargic - not to mention the sneezing and coughing. Despite the caretakers doing their best to keep Vulin away from the other children, so that the bug wouldn't be spread, Fennel was insistent about staying near his sibling - the similarly-young Hopmon worriedly fussing over Vulin. "Is he going to be okay Saya, Jess?"
Of the caretakers watching over the children, two in particular were watching Vulin and Fennel - a wise and kindly Kyubimon by the name of Saya, and a quiet but attentive Antylamon by the name of Jess. "He'll be alright, dear." Saya would murmur kindly, gently nuzzling Fennel to reassure him, before retrieving a pot that had been warming over the fire, Jess serving up a bowl of broth so that Vulin could have something light on his stomach. "He just needs some rest, and to not go off playing when he shouldn't be." Saya would give Vulin a knowing look - usually when he got sick, he had a habit of wandering off to explore or play despite the fact that he should be resting - though with how badly this bug hit him, she wasn't too worried of that happening.
Instead though, she was more worried about the apparent misery Vulin was in, or him getting Fennel sick; considering the resounding sneeze - "ACHOO!" - Vulin would give, followed by a few coughs, and a weak groan. "Sayaaaa.... My head hurts...." He would whine pitifully, and though the Antylamon pondered the fact that his whole body is a head, Jess would not comment on it - simply helping Vulin have some broth. Fennel would only snuggle closer to Vulin, as though his presence might somehow ease his sibling's discomfort, as Saya sighed gently. "Just rest, darling. The doctor will be here soon." She would comfort Vulin, gently curling up around him and Fennel, the two caretakers having long-since given up convincing Fennel to keep his distance to avoid getting sick.
. . . . .
After some time and a moment of rest though, the doctor would indeed arrive - a Datamon with a bag in hand, and an almost comical surgical mask on; given that half of their body was a face, and the other half was, well, the capsule that housed the computer-brain. The doctor would approach though, and didn't even need to perform a checkup to know that young Vulin was sick; the young digimon looked absolutely miserable. However, they would go over the procedures anyways; checking his temperature and the such. "Mhmm, yup," The Datamon began, their voice a low, mechanical buzz. "Looks like he's caught the bug that's been going around, nasty one for sure - the youngsters have it the worst."
"Do you have anything to help him sleep?" Jess would question, getting straight to the point. Fennel had hid underneath Saya's tails - even though he was normally comfortable with the digimon of ElDoradimon, he was always a little nervous about the doctor. Vulin, on the other hand, was being good - cooperating as the Datamon gave him a check-up, Saya nuzzling him reassuringly. He wasn't quite as scared of the doctor, even if he did tend to be a hint shy due to Fennel's nervousness. "Of course I do," The Datamon would respond, as though it were common sense - which in a way, it was. The doctor would go back to his bag and dig thru it, digging out two bottles of medicine.
"Same as with the other In-Trainings- take this as needed in the night, if he's too stuffed up or achy to sleep, and this in the mornings and evenings." Datamon would instruct, handing the bottles over to Saya, who would pick them up with her tail and nod. Already, she would pass the first bottle to Jess - who would open it and measure out the liquid medicine within. "He's got a pretty bad fever, but that's to be expected with dragon digimon, just make sure he doesn't overheat and that he's getting plenty of rest, and this should clear up in half a week or so." The Doctor would explain, "Any questions?"
"No, doctor, thank you kindly." Saya would respond and smile to the Datamon, before glancing to Vulin - the young Koromon making a face as he took the medicine. It was, as was to be expected, not the best-tasting - and Saya couldn't help but chuckle at the face he made at it. "Yeah, I imagine that it's not very good tasting- but it'll help you feel better so you can sleep, dear." Saya would mention gently; patting Vulin on the head with a tail as the doctor would gather up his things, and move on to the next doctor's visit. Fennel would finally come out from behind the safety of Saya, and would return to his spot at Vulin's side.
"... ... Are you feeling better now, Vulin?" Fennel would ask softly, to which Vulin would give Fennel a small smile. "Little bit..." He murmured back, and the two in-training would snuggle together in the blankets. "Hey, when you feel better... Kiki wanted to show us something real cool that her mom found!" Fennel would mention- to which Vulin's eyes lit up a bit. "Really?" "Yeah! So... Lets rest lots, ok? So you can feel better sooner...!"
Vulin would smile softly to his sibling, and would nod- snuggling closer. "... Yeah, that sounds better than sneaking off." He joked lightly- and the two would laugh gently, until Vulin yawned, and got comfortable. He coughed lightly - audibly congested, though it seemed to be clearing up already - and would close his eyes. "Night then, Fennel." Fennel had nearly commented on the fact that it was more closer to noon, but... "Night," He'd just smile, as the both of them relaxed together in the nest. Maybe Vulin would feel a bit better tomorrow, and they could both go visit their friends then...!
"-snff-... achoo!"
... Or maybe not.
