Caught in the Storm (John, Spire, Leith)

The Gumdramon didn't want to admit it, but this was one of the few instances that he was truly terrified. The howling winds that were rushing through the arcade room nearly drowned out the yells of the others as well as the other Digimon near them. Too scared to even look for his brother and Tamer, Gummy closed his eyes and pressed his head to Bezil's vest, holding him tightly and visibily shaking now. Usually when it calls for situations like this, sometimes in the heat of battle, he would put on a confident yet cocky expression, always letting everyone know that it's under his control.
But this was different. This was something that was far beyond his control, and he didn't know what to do, only to cower like a hopeless guppy.
Gummy stopped shaking when Bezil patted him on the back. He looked up to the taller Gumdramon, who was filled with bravery. He should be cowering in fear like everyone else, but he wasn't. Itlooked like the storm didn't even fazed him in the slightest. To him, it screamed awesomeness. His face started to turn red as a result.
After Owen explained his plan, something that Gummy was highly unsure of as it was too risky, he turned to see that Vee and Justice leaning on the wall, probably blown away when the tree came through the window. "Bro! Specs!" he yelled through the wind gust.
Letting go of Bezil, he quickly rushed over to the two, shielding his eyes from the wind. Vee slowly got up from Justice, holding some cuts around his shoulder and face. He'd managed to shield Justice with his body somewhat when the window blew in, but he had some cuts around his face like Vee "You ok?! You're not hurt too bad are you?"
Vee, who was slightly groggy took a few seconds to respond. "Yeah, I'm fine." He told him, "It'll take a little more than that to put me down."
Gummy gave a sigh of relief, patting his brother on the shoulder. Hearing Shoutmon's voice through the wind telling everyone to get away, the two turned their attention to Justice, shaking him to get up. "Justice? Justice wake up! C'mon we gotta go!"
"Yeah," Gummy added, trying to lift him up, "If you don't wake up, I'll give you an fiery tail to the stomach!" Their attempts remain unsuccessful as Justice was still unresponsive. Blood started to trickle down his nose, making the two panic.
"Oh no! he's knocked out cold!" Vee shouted. "He must have hit his head on the wall hard!"
"Shit...then we have to carry him then."
With little options left, the two nodded and slowly started to pick Justice up, with Vee carrying him from the front while Gummy carried him from the back. As awkward as the position was since they were smaller than their Tamer, it was the only way they could get him to safety. Anyone was welcome to help if they chose so.

Mega digivolution? If things were that bad, then in Leith's eyes it was stupid to be anywhere near this city and, hell, the continent. The young man was not keen on seeing that again. What was he supposed to do, though? Tell Owen no? It wasn't like one of Leith's partners could fly without wings - or, rather, the one that could he was unwilling to allow to attempt it. Too bad he was also unwilling to stay in this arcade any longer, no matter whether Sheppard's plan actually held water or... held water. "I can't stay here, Shep! We're leaving, whatever you do!" Flamedramon then tried to pull Leith a bit closer to the others, but he pulled his hand from the digimon's. That was so Leith could attempt to help move Justice, since it looked like the others were struggling to move him. Fear or none, leaving someone to the storm barring immediate threat to personal safety was morally unacceptable. Unless stopped, he went for Justice's legs and shouted at the boy's partners, "You two get the shoulders! I got this!" Hopefully together they could get him more quickly to wherever the little guys led.
"What the hell are you waiting for, Owen?" Shoutmon cried at the soldier, "We ain't gettin' paid by the hour! Get us outta-" It was only when the armored Flamedramon turned his back to Shoutmon did the red drake catch the glass shrapnel in his twin's back and catch his own voice. "Whoa."
"It's nothing!"
"Nothing, my ass! Owen, you can help him, right?"
"Forget it! I'll live! We need to evacuate first!"
"At least pull out the damn glass!"
"I can't reach it!" Flamedramon demonstrated by reaching and hissing in pain.
"Owen, ya ain't gonna let this guy be a dumbass, are ya?"
"You can't delay the others over my little scratch!" Uh-oh. These two were both trying to put pressure on Owen. Could he do both? If not, which would he choose? Flamedramon is encased in rock armor: 2 posts remaining.

Owen knew that his heavy armor as MirageGaogamon would be able to withstand the strength of the wind outside. However, he didn't know if he had the energy to attain that form for long. It seemed due to the urgency of the situation, he would have no choice here.
"Alright... here it goes. I'll need a moment to focus" Owen explained. It was a bit harder for a solo digimon to evolve repeatedly than it was for a partnered digimon after all, since the Gaomon lacked a digivice. Thank cripes that he had eaten that energy bar earlier, or else he'd have no chance. The Gaomon closed his eyes, clasped his paws together and focused inward, a faint blue light surrounding him, bursting with gold sparks of energy from time to time. A warp digivolution would need a lot of effort.
Bezil meanwhile was sure that his father evolving to Mega would solve a lot of problems here. It filled him with so much confidence that he was able to be strong for Gummy too, who seemed to be virtually petrified by the dangers at hand here. He noticed that Gummy was looking up at him.
"It'll be alright, mate" Bezil assured him again. "Dad's got this. And dad's data is in me as well, so you can count on me too" he promised, smiling.
Then disaster struck. The tree crashed through the window, shattering glass down upon Justice, Vee, Gummy and Flamedramon. Bezil gasped, running toward them. This was bad, Justice was knocked out, and glass shrapnel cut several of the digimon here. He raised his paw to shield his own eyes from the maelstrom of wind, rain and glass shards. Terror filled him for the moment as all this happened in near darkness. But... no, he wouldn't give in to despair. He was Owen's son. Hikaru's too. They wouldn't let this impede them. He had to take after them.
It all happened rather quickly. This moment of crisis... somehow Bezil didn't feel like he could be there for everyone, and that feeling filled him with determination to do better. He had only done so once before - in a spar he had yet to tell others about. But now, it seemed the moment had come again. Bezil shone briefly, then grew. The small furred dragon's size and bulk increased, he grew over a foot in height. His legs grew longer and more powerful, his wings broadened and strengthened, lean muscles appeared under the fur of his body, and his yellow eyes shifted in shape so that their childish innocence faded, and turned into a competitive glare like Owen's.
On top of all that, a red scarf appeared around his neck. That was what made him realize what had happened. He had digivolved. Bezil's Champion form was little different from his Rookie, but his strength became enough so that he could help out.
And Bezil's first instinct was to rush over to Justice to help move him away from danger, and in turn, Leith and the others that were in the line of the wind.
As Bezil did this, Owen finally built up the internal power to activate his evolution. And at once, the Gaomon glowed brightly, growing rapidly as he evolved.
"Gaomon... warp digivolve to...!" he cried, and grew in height from 4'7" to well over 10 feet in height. Blue digizoid armor covered his head, torso, forearms, lower legs and waist. A long red cape appeared from the back of his collar, and soon his Mega form made its presence known. "...MirageGaogamon!"
Now he could help here. He turned to see many of the digimon and people in the room injured from the debris. He crossed his arms, focused, then let a golden light shine from the mouth on his torso.
"Light of the Moon!" he cried, and a golden light shone over those that had been wounded. As they were all humans and digimon less than mega, this healing would be rather potent, hopefully mending their problems.
While his father did this, Bezil recognized the danger of remaining in here at once. "If we're going outside, we need to protect ourselves from debris!" he yelled over the wind. "But if we stay here, we have to find rooms where there's no glass!"
Owen warp-digivolves to MirageGaogamon.
Owen uses Light of the Moon to heal Flamedramon, Vee, Gummy and Justice.
Light of the Moon - Owen focuses inward, then sends forth a wave of healing energy over himself or an ally. Can be used over multiple allies for reduced healing. Is 50% more effective if Owen has been hit by a Dark elemental attack the previous turn. [Cooldown: 2 posts]
Bezil digivolves to Gumdramon Adult.
Bezil moves to assist moving Justice from harm.

John thanked whatever god he knew for the fact Owen had just digivoled, having a Mega with them in this situation was at least a little comforting. Neither John nor Sheppard had really been hurt by debris, although Sheppard he just pulled a long piece of glass out of his helmet. "That was close." the dragon soldier mumbled, before both he and his partner looekd up to Miragegaogamon, who wa at least partially cover them against the storm "We either try to run to a more secure place or we hunker down in the back storage." John screamed over the storm, as he looked at the barricade. It was still holding , but for how long? If the rain continued for a day or more, even the storage in the back would be flooded, so it was a gamble.
"I'm for trying to get out of here. We are screwed anyway, we either try to get somewhere higher and safer or we wait till the water washes us away."

The two brothers had some difficulties trying to move the unconscious Justice out of the storm's fury. Lifting someone like their Tamer's size would be no problem to the two of them, but due to debris flying everywhere, the wind making it difficult to see, and the fact that the cuts that Vee sustained still had glass shrapnel in them was making it hard for to do something that was considered easy for him, they almost would have dropped him had Leith not showed up. He directed them to lift Justice up by the shoulders, in which they nodded in response.
"Thanks for the help." Vee said, giving the human a reassuring smile. "You know, you look totally different from the human that was crying earlier. I'm happy for ya." Maybe it was not the best time to complement him since they were still in danger , but he felt it was necessary to ease the fears and doubts he was feeling.
Gummy on the other hand only focused on the steps, watching out for any sharp glass that was on the ground so he wouldn't step on them until they got to the others. He didn't want to admit it, but perhaps he may have been wrong about this Leith character. Initially he though he would be cowering in fear behind his Digimon like a little baby due to their first interaction earlier, but here he is helping them.
Suddenly a figure appeared right before them, helping the three of them move Justice more easier. It only took the twins a few seconds to realize that the Digimon before them was Bezil, now much taller than the two of them. He must have Digivolved into this form.
For a few moments, Gummy gazed at him in awe, but that was replaced with rejuvenation as he and his brother were healed by another unrecognizable figure: MirageGaogamon. This healing energy was coming from him. The two looked down saw the huge bruise on Justice's head slowly disappear as well the trickles of blood coming from his nose. The two were relieved.
Hearing the bigger Gumdramon and Sheppard yell their thoughts on where they should go for shelter, Vee recognized that they couldn't stay here any longer. The building was exposed to the burnt of the storm already. Staying here would just put them even more in danger. "I'd say we head to one of the nearby sky-rises or something!" Vee yelled to them. "If I can recall , Justice one told me that the stairwell of a sky-rise is one of the safest places to be in a storm like this; no thread of debris or winds! It'll be tough going through that storm, but anything's safer than here!"

Despite the fact that Leith already suspected Owen was one tough 'mon, even mega-tough, he still acted shocked to watch evolution to mega right in front of him. I fucking knew it! Owen can go that far! Leith stayed grounded with the weight of half a person in his arms, but he still gulped anxiously. Forget the storm; that guy could level the building in a second if he felt like it. Of course he knew that was absurd as a real possibility, but more important to him was that it was true.
Even more important to him than that, of course, was taking a backhanded compliment. "No difference! It's just now I got something to do! Do me a favor and keep talking to me?" Hopefully conversation kept him going off the deep end again, but still he was open-mouthed breathing and acting hypervigilant. "Maybe a fuckin' crybaby can still get shit done through tears, eh?" That was supposed to be self-deprecating humor. Instinctively, he used one arm to cover his face when Owen announced an 'attack,' but he caught his own reflexes and got back to moving Justice when he wasn't incinerated, dismembered, or something similar. "Underground would be better, but somethin' tells me we can't count on that in this city." As they approached Owen, Leith tried to help the twins find a position where that ragdoll wouldn't easily slip off. Unfortunately, he couldn't find an easy and quick way to do it. "You guys're gonna have to figure secure him somehow, else you better hold on real tight! Owen, maybe you can carry him?"
On that note, the young man himself attempted to start scaling the dog's cape. The problem? He wasn't exactly in peak physical fitness, and carrying Justice a while didn't help. He wasn't able to pull himself up under his own power. It took Flamedramon, pushing on his feet from beneath with much less effort, to get Leith high enough to cling desperately to Owen's left shoulder. "Thanks!"
"I gotcha!" Flamedramon was able to make the jump by himself, and as he hung from the same shoulder Leith noticed his wounds had closed, and the replaced data even forced the shrapnel to pop out.
"Are we all gonna fit here?"
"We have to try! If not, it'll just have to be multiple trips."
"Do we have time for that?"
"Don't matter if we got time if we don't got room!" Shoutmon called from his spot hanging from Owen's collar. Flamedramon was healed by Light of the Moon.

Owen listened carefully for the options ahead of them. To hunker down or head to higher ground... but the real decision was clear for the MirageGaogamon. There were three that he needed to get to safety above all others.
Those were John, Justice and Leith.
Every other digimon here, while their lives also mattered, if they were faced with destruction, they would easily return to the Village of Beginnings. If the humans suffered destruction here, though, then there would be no second chance for them. And he had to respect that.
"I'll carry John, Justice, Leith, their partners, and Bezil." he declared. "For my first trip though. I promise I'll do my best to return for the rest of you..."
"Not me, dad." Bezil replied, in a shockingly stern voice that surprised the MirageGaogamon. He looked down at him, and saw the fierce yellow gaze in return. "I'll stay here and look after everyone. You get the humans to safety first, I'll do what I can."
"...you sure, mate?" Owen asked his son, wanting him to think about this more carefully. Yes, he was making a brave and logical decision, but, as his father, if Bezil sought his help, even for an instant, he'd give it to him. Bezil remained steadfast and nodded.
"I am, dad. These digimon need my help." he replied. Owen responded by gently stroking his head for a moment, then turned to his purpose.
"Alright. We'll go with Vee's option. While it would be safer underground, Whitewater is mostly built on sand and has little underground facilities. Our safest place would be in the lower floors of the high rise buildings, they're at least designed to withstand these winds..."
Leith then asked if he could manage to hold his passengers. Justice was the most difficult one to manage, but Owen was able to withdraw the claws of his gauntlets so he wasn't at risk of impaling him with them, holding the unconscious human in his hands.
He knelt down, allowing the rest of them to climb onto him, some smaller digimon even gripping onto his cape to evacuate faster. Thankfully they were just a few rookies, so Owen was able to carry them quickly. Once everyone was secured, he stood back up, then focused, preparing his flash-step ability to get them through the storm as quickly as possible. He'd have to calculate carefully against the cross-stream of the hurricane, but once he thought they were secure, his form flickered, and he moved so fast across Whitewater that he was gone within a blink.
On the other side, he emerged from seemingly nowhere at the entrance of a tall skyscraper hotel, about a mile inland, out of the range of the incoming storm surge.
"Here we are, quickly, get inside as fast as you can!" he instructed his passengers, kneeling down to let them all off. The sooner they did so, the sooner he could return to the arcade, where the rest of the evacuee digimon were waiting, being looked after by his son.
Bezil meanwhile did his best to reassure the remaining digimon that they weren't going to be left behind, that his dad would rescue them all. And that was something Owen would never let him lie about... he intended to bring them all here.
Combat Passive: Flash Step - Owen can move exceptionally fast around the battlefield, having enhanced evasion and can close distances very quickly.

Hearing that the MirageGaogamon went with the option to take shelter in one of the city's skyscraper, Vee and Gummy nodded in approval. Despite being unconscious, Justice was still giving out the best options since he relayed this info to the Veemon awhile back.
With the storm surge imminent, now was the time to evacuate. Before the twins could get onto Owen, Bezil made the decision to stay here and look after the Digimon that couldn't make room for the first round. Gummy at first wanted to volunteer to stay behind as well, not out of obligation, or for the other Digimon that couldn't make it, but to watch over his new friend's back just in case anything happens to him. He turned towards Justice, who was being lifted by the MirageGaogamon, and was reminded that his Tamer needs the both of them to be at his side whenever he regains consciousness.
Plagued with his two choices, he kept turning his head to Justice and Bezil repeatedly . He had to decide now since time was running out. "What to do, what to do?" he mumbled to himself.
Vee on the other hand, could sense his brother's judgment was being clouded. When it came to choosing, his brother always did found it difficult, even when it came things to choosing between two snacks. He put a hand to his brother;s shoulder, who turned to him wide-eyed in response. The Veemon remained calm despite the wind and rain pounding at him. "I can't stop you from choosing. Just follow what your heart's thinks is right. I won't be mad if you decide to stay here until he comes back for the second round."
Gummy froze, taking what his brother said to him deeply. Usually Vee who chastise him into doing the logical thing, but now he was giving him a choice to decide. It only took a couple seconds for him to decide to grab on to Owen's cape, making up his mind to come with them.
"Don't get the wrong idea. I just want to see the look on Spec's face after he gets this fiery tail to the stomach." he declared, puffing his chest at bit.
With a smile on his face, Vee grabbed onto the back of Owen's cape as well, proud of the decision he made. He would have been proud nonetheless if the Gumdramon made the decision to stay here and help the others. Regardless, it was nice that his selfish little brother was doing something selfless for once.
After everyone including the other humans and their Digimon were on, Gummy turn to Bezil to make one last comment before they took off. "If you die in this building, so help me, I'm kicking your ass!" With that, everyone on Owen disappeared in a flash, going from the arcade to a tall hotel in just a minute.
It was a good thing the older Gumdramon didn't see Gummy blushed after he said that, otherwise he probably would have stayed to kick his ass just for that.

"Hey, listen, can you warn us before-?" Between the roaring winds, pounding rain, cacophanous thunder, and Leith waiting too long to make his request, it was impossible for Owen to hear the scared young man asking for a heads up before takeoff. "No, no, no, no-!" Why was Leith so scared of flying? He'd ridden on his own partners backs enough times to be a little used to it, after all. Well, besides the obvious reason to be scared, he wasn't wearing his usual riding gloves this time, and he felt much more naked in the hands. The rain threatened to lubricate his grip too much, and the wind sure made an effort to knock him off, too. His only securities were his own will to survive and Flamedramon, who hooked one arm around his Tamer's torso just before takeoff in a position where it could still grip Owen, too. Leith wasn't going anywhere unless Flamedramon was, and that was simply not going to happen. Flamedramon didn't let go of Leith even as he let go of Owen, which helped the boy dismount quickly and safely. as his feet hit the mud, his armor all crumbled away at once. While the blue drake escorted his human inside, Shoutmon called over his shoulder, "See you in a sec, big guy!" optimistically. "Come on, come on, go," Flamedramon continued to urge the group. Trying to take the lead in both Owen's and Bezil's absence, he waved them off with a hand signal toward the hotel's breakfast kitchen because it didn't have any nearby doors or windows. Leith and Shoutmon needed no convincing, but Flamedramon himself stayed behind them so he could bend down and offer to pick up Justice by holding out his hands and showing a gentle expression. After all, if the twins could barely manage it together earlier, one of them alone seemed to make it even harder.
"That guy makes you look like a smooth ride, Shoutmon," Leith grumbled as some hotel staff came running with towels and blankets for everyone. Flamedramon is no longer encased in rock armor.

Post by Bezil on Jul 16, 2019 8:47:40 GMT
For a moment, it looked like Gummy wanted to stay with Bezil in looking after the others. Both Bezil and Owen noticed this, but in the end, were silently glad that he chose instead to stay with his unconscious partner. While neither Owen or Bezil could fully understand what it was like having a human partner, they still knew it was the duty of partner digimon to take care of theirs, and they thought Gummy had made the right choice here.
Gummy told Bezil not to die here, and Bezil responded with a look of determination. "Mate, it'll take more than a hurricane to end me, I promise ya." he said. He noted the blush too, and, despite himself, blushed as well.
After they were left alone, Bezil was quickly spoken to by one of the other digimon of the shelter.
"Mr. Gumdramon... Mr. Gumdramon..." a voice spoke near him. It was a Tsunomon. Bezil turned to speak to him, reacting gently.
"Please, call me Bezil." he replied, kneeling down to speak with him more easily.
"Bezil... I'm scared... I... didn't know a hurricane would be this crazy..." the Tsunomon admitted, looking close to tears.
"Hey, mate, it's okay to be scared." Bezil replied. "Main thing is to don't let it turn into panic, okay? Don't worry, my dad won't leave us behind. I trust in him, he'll get us all out of here."
With that, Bezil realized that as one of the only Champion levels left, the digimon were beginning to flock to him for guidance. They asked what they should do. Water was beginning to lap at the bags they had put in place at the entrances, and was seeping in elsewhere too. There was no great flood yet currently though, and with that, Bezil thought he could control things for Owen's next arrival.
"Okay, everyone!" he said in a loud voice. "I'm gonna need you to form a line so that my dad can pick you up easier next time! Babies and In-Trainings first, Rookies next! Also no offense, but digimon that can swim, please take up the rear. You won't miss out, but, we might cut this kinda close, so I don't want any of us drowning while we're waiting!"
To his satisfaction, most of the digimon formed a line as Bezil envisioned. There was a little bit of a struggle for the start of the Rookie line, but, thankfully no Rookies thought themselves more important than the younger digimon. With that, Bezil waited for his father's return.
Owen did his best to fly in the screaming winds. Of course he couldn't grip onto all of his passengers to help them, but thankfully none of them fell off either. And within a minute, they arrived safely at the hotel.
"Quickly now, please disembark." the MirageGaogamon told the others, kneeling down so that they'd have a shorter distance to the ground. "Sorry for being so abrupt, Leith, you alright, mate?" he asked the human. When he seemed to be, thanks to Flamedramon ensuring his safety, Owen would stand up again, looking back in the direction of the building.
"Alright, should be 2 or 3 more trips." he said, then practically flashed out of view as he travelled back. From there, he returned to the arcade building, glad to see the digimon lined up in a queue.
"Righteo... easiest way should be this." Owen said, removing his red cape. "Sorry to bundle you all up like this, but, this is the best way I can carry you all. Bezil, mate, care to help?"
With that, Owen and Bezil guided all of the baby and in-training digimon to the middle of the cape. When they were bunched up good and ready, Bezil helped Owen collect the corners of the cape so that he was securely carrying all 20-30 of them.
"You're going great, guys, just be patient, I'll be back for you." Owen promised, then returned to the skyscraper with the young digimon.
When left alone again, Bezil noted that there was a digimon nearby that was crying his eyes out. The Gumdramon approached, and saw that they were a young Coronamon. "Heyy, mate, you okay?" Bezil asked, gently.
"I... I don't wanna drown." the Coronamon sobbed as the water was by now lapping at their ankles. "This is so scary... AHH!" he yelped as the winds outside caused something hard to smash against the wall of the arcade, causing cracks to appear.
"Mate, you're not gonna drown." Bezil assured him. "Believe me. I nearly drowned once, wasn't pleasant at all, but it'll take more than a few inches of water to take you out. So just hold on for a few more minutes, alright? You can't swim I take it, so you can go on the next trip."
With that, Owen had safely got the youngest digimon to the skyscraper, now he had returned. The MirageGaogamon was visibly panting here. So Bezil took it upon himself to make the next call. "Alright, digimon who can't swim! You're next!" Bezil called. Thankfully the remaining digimon were calm enough to split themselves so. Digimon like Coronamon, Gotsumon, Candlemon, Vorbomon, and others that couldn't swim were picked up by Owen, or held on to his cape as he made his second trip through the hurricane.
There were not many digimon left now. Bezil was glad to see that it was likely they could all make it on the last trip. "We all doing okay?" he asked them.
"We are..." an Agumon answered. Bezil gave a thumbs up. He realized that these digimon were remaining calm because he was.
So much so that even when another heavy object crashed against the building and made a hole in the corner, there were a few yelps until Bezil said "Relax, it's just a bit more rain!"
Owen returned two minutes later, ready to carry the last of them across. By now he was almost fully exhausted, and could barely speak. But he knew he was capable of making one more trip. The remaining 15 digimon climbed onto his cape, after a quick check to make sure that none remained in the arcade, let themselves be carried in his arms, and then the lot of them flew into the high winds. Owen moved too fast to be hit by the debris outside.
When Owen arrived at the skyscraper for the last time, it was all his body could take. The MirageGaogamon almost collapsed as he de-digivolved back to Gaomon when they were in the final safety. Bezil jumped clear, then quickly attended to his father.
"Dad, you alright?!" he asked.
"Did everyone make it?" Owen replied, weakly.
"Yeah, we did."
"Then yeah, I'm alright." Owen said, then closed his eyes and went limp, passing out from the energy exerted. Bezil helped him rest on a chair, then turned to the others.
"How about you guys?" he asked them.

"You're doing great" Sheppard tried to reassure Owen, after he had managed to get them to the safety of the hotel. They hurried inside with the others and inside the hotel staff already came running towards them with towels and blankets. While the others were drying themself and got eveloped with blankets, Sheppard sat down on a seat in the lobby, took of his helmet and started to pick some of the smaller shards of galss, that were still stuck in it, out. John, now dried and covered in a blanket walked to him for a moment and petted his bald and scaly head, while asking
"You ok, partner?" Sheppard nodded, he had gone through much worse long before this storn, but this didn't that he wasn't shaken a little. But John was save now and that was the most important thing for him right now. His partner now hurried back to the entrance, to help with the flood of new arrivals. Finally, Owen made his third and last round and everybody was in the safety of the hotel. WHile he helped drying some of the younger digimon, John answered the exhausted Gaomons question.
"Thanks to you, everybody is here and nobody else was hurt. Well done man, really well done. You two needs any help?"

After what seemed to be forever since they were flying at such high speeds, everyone onboard the Gaogamon-train finally arrived safely at the front entrance of a high-rise hotel somewhere a bit inland, far enough so that they wouldn't be impacted by the flooding. Vee and Gummy descended from Owen's cape, just thankful that they were somewhere that looked to be dry.
The Flamedramon who was partnered with Leith offered to carry Justice inside the lobby as Owen took off to get Bezil and the others still at the arcade, much to the twin's delight. It wasn't the fact that their Tamer was heavy, heck, one of them was enough to carry him, but it was a matter of balancing that was the issue. Nevertheless, they appreciate a helping since they were all in this together, whether they liked it or not.
As they were coming inside, Gummy took one last pause , looking outside through the heavy rain and strong winds, wondering if Bezil was alright. It was not like him to worry about someone he'd just met, but it was weird feeling nonetheless. Was this what Justice called compassion? He didn't know.
"Thanks for the hospitality," Vee told the hotel staff as they gave them towels and blankets. He ushered Flamedramon to lay Justice down on a couch in the lobby. Judging how spacious the building was on the outside, they wouldn't have to worry about any trees crashing down here.
As the two were settled down, they covered Justice with their respective blankets. Before they could finally catch a breathe, Owen came in with the last remaining Digimon left in the arcade, along with Bezil. A cheerful smile appeared on Gummy's face. He was so glad he was alright. But it quickly vanished as he didn't want the older Gumdramon to see him so happy.
When asked on how's everyone doing, Gummy decided to put on his tough guy act as usual. "Aw you know, everyone's not dead, so that's a start." he said in a sarcastic tone.
Vee's ears twitched. A sly smile appeared on his face. "Awwww that's adorable!" He could see right through his brother's act.
Gummy sighed in response; he had no energy to talk back. He turned the attention to their unconscious Tamer. "When's Specs gonna wake up?"
"I don't know," Vee told him, examining Justice. "He did took a pretty nasty blow to the head when we crashed into that wall. He should be all healed up thanks to Owen, but-"
He stopped talking when he noticed Justice's eyes twitching a bit; his eyelids were tightly scrunched together. Was he...no, he had to be sure.
"Gummy watch him for a sec," he asked. "I want to try something..."
Gummy nodded. And Vee took a few steps back and snapped his fingers. His eyes twitched again, but this time he moved a bit.
He was faking it.
"Justice...you were...this whole time?"
Nodded at his brother, a toothy grin appeared on Gummy's face. "Oh I'm so gonna enjoy this." He raised his Shippodzuchi and slammed it down on Justice's stomach, delivering an "fiery" tail to the stomach, just as he promised earlier. It took a few seconds, but Justice sprung back to life, yelped in pain and grabbing his stomach. He was so lazy, he reacted to getting hurt late.
"So you were awake this whole time," Vee said sharply, pointing at him. "Why did you pretend you were knocked out this whole time, you faker?!"
Justice took the blankets off him and leaned against the wall. "I mean, I was knocked out for a little bit. I woke seemly floating in the rain. Besides, you guys were gonna evacuate anyway, so I didn't wanted to be involved. Just give me a break."

The trio of Haunted Threnody were all good and relieved to watch Owen come through that front door, even if it wasn't under his own power. As concerning as that fact was, since Bezil wasn't acting concerned for his safety no one else did either. Knowing him, they all suspected he wouldn't be checking on others first thing if the Gaomon was in any real danger. "All here, Bezil. I guess that means we win? We win. Until the lobby floods. We conditionally, temporarily win."
He and his partners sat back away from the commotion Justice's partners were causing, as none of them much wanted any more excitement for the day. Well, that wasn't how it worked out. Shoutmon was the first to jump up when the Gumdramon with a bad attitude went and assaulted an unconscious boy. His fists were clenched, but he was just far away enough to pick up the full, real story. That didn't make him unclench his fists, though. "Bezil, if I were you, I'd wake up your dad ASAP. I think Justice is gonna need his healing again in about..." Leith and Flamedramon exchanged glances.
"Five minutes?"
"That's a little generous."
"Three?"
"Mmm, depends whether Shout has to fight his way through to get to him. It might go either way."
"Shouldn't we stop him?"
"I'm not sure he'd be wrong. Plus the purple one gave me kind of a backhanded compliment." Flamedramon glared. "Fine. Next time. Shoutmon! Cool it down!" The angry red digimon didn't make the decision to back away or punish Justice for being lazy dead weight body in a dangerous situation. "Come on, man. You start somethin', then those two start somethin', then Bezil's gotta break you guys up, and Rambo over there's gonna... eh, fuck it. Just say he's on thin ice and move on." The decision still didn't seem to be forthcoming until Shoutmon finally huffed and sat back between Leith and Flamedramon.

Bezil smiled at Sheppard when asked if he needed help. "Nah, I'll be right... just need to rest a little bit." he explained. By now, in the relative safety of their new shelter, the Gumdramon was panting rather a lot. The crisis over, the tension he had used to keep himself composed had almost run out. It had taken a lot of effort to keep a brave face for all these frightened digimon, and he had about reached his limits.
He glanced at Gummy though, and might have noticed his smile for a moment. After all, he did promise him that he wouldn't die, and it seemed he kept that promise. He then was told that they all seemed to be alright.
"Well, if the lobby does flood, at least we've got floors above to move to." Bezil reasoned.
Then it appeared that Justice was actually conscious and pretending to be unconscious. Bezil made an exasperated expression. He must have come to shortly after Owen healed him. But he thought that Gummy attacking him was too far.
"Gummy! No! Don't attack humans like that!" he cried, rushing over, but thankfully no further punishment was laid out to the young man. Bezil didn't really know what to say to him. While of course there were all sorts of reasons why someone who had just come to from being unconscious, it seemed Justice was being lazy, but, Bezil still didn't want to think ill of him. "Look... we're all stressed out, but we should be safe now." he reasoned.
Then Shoutmon looked like he was about to join in. Bezil hoped he wouldn't, but thankfully he was called off. "Alright. If it's okay with you guys, I think I'll..." he didn't complete the sentence. He merely glowed for a moment as he shrunk down from his Adult to Child form, his wings and body shrinking, his scarf disappearing, and as though he had reached his limit, the furred Gumdramon fell forward onto the floor - physically and mentally spent. He didn't pass out though, he was just at the point where he was too tired to continue standing.
Hopefully the others were in a better condition to take care of everyone through the remainder of the hurricane. Neither Owen or Bezil had any more energy to continue what they had been doing.

Sheppard looked around again. Everybody had made it here and while everybody seemed to be exhausted, they were mostly safe and happy. With John now slowly falling assleep in one of armchairs of the lobby, since the hotel had no free rooms, Sheppard looked around again. Gummy, Bezil and Justice seemed to have had a short argument, but now everything had calmed down, the younger digimon were contempt and with the storm raging outside it almost felt homely in the lobby. So the Commandramon waddled to the receptionist and after a minute came back, carrying a large tower of blankets. He walked from small group to small group, single digimon to single digimon, handing them out so everybody could be warm and cozy. He smiled widely while giving them to Leith and his partners and then waddled to the hero who had saved them all.
"Here, make sure your dad and Justice don't get cold. We'll probably be stuck here for at least another day, if not more. The receptionist can give you some snacks if your hungry or you can sleep on the free sofas in the lobby." with these words he gave all but two of his remaining blankets to Gummy and Bezil, again smiled widely and then, with a loud yawn, headed back to his partner. He covered John with a blanket and then wrap himself into the last blanket, like a mummy and leaned against the armchair his partner was sleeping in. The howling storm outside didn't keep him awake, after all the stress he fell asleep within a minute.
