Hiro Tsukino idly dribbled a basketball by himself on the basketball court. He had been kicked out of his apartment by his older brother, Shun. There was some comment about him being a Hikkimori in training and something about getting some fresh air, but Hiro was pretty sure that Ken just wanted the apartment to himself for a bit. So Hiro had grabbed his basketball and wandered over to the park to see if he could start up a pick up game.
Sadly, there was no one on the basketball court and he had spent the last half hour just dribbling and shooting by himself. It was odd, normally there was a group of people playing on the court. He must have come at the one time where nobody was on the court.
"Ugh, this is depressing." Hiro missed another shot and the ball bounced away from him. "I forgot how boring basketball was when you don't have anyone to play against."
Hiro grabbed his basketball and fiddled with it for a moment before giving up on basketball for the moment. He walked over to where he had thrown his stuff and picked up his water bottle. He finished the drink and tossed the empty bottle into his bag before grabbing it and throwing it on his shoulder to leave. Maybe he could find a net cafe or something to pass the time.
The clatter of something dropping to the floor stopped Hiro. He paused and looked down at his feet. Next to his basketball, a small two toned blue device was sitting on the floor. It must have fallen out of his bag, except Hiro had never seen this device before.
"What's this?" Hiro picked up the small object and examined it. It had a small screen with two arrow buttons next to it and a large round button on the bottom. "Huh, is this Shun's?" It didn't look like anything his brother owned and that didn't explain why it was in his bag. So where did it come from?
Hiro tossed the device up a few times. "Weird. I wonder what this thing does?" Hiro started pressing the buttons on the device hoping that something would happen.

It was a normal afternoon in the Miyashita Park, or at least somewhat normal. Tasha was sitting in a bench, with a lot of books next to her. She managed to finish her studies at the museum the about a week ago, but she still had more to do. She was holding both her textbook and translation book, using the smaller book to translate the kana in the textbook. She was studying outside in the park and enjoying the nice sunny day. That and her little brother was playing games loudly with his friends and disturbing her studies. She looked down at her Tanemon, laying down on the soft grass and sniffing at the flowers on the ground. Tasha looked down at her digimon, smiling a bit. Maybe it was good thing that she's studying here.
Still, Tasha was having a hard time focusing on her work. So much had happened these past few days. She met a nice boy named Kevin in this park. They went over to the museum together, but he managed to find out about Pedra. After some persuasion, Tasha gave in and told him all about her digimon. Now he wanted to have a digimon of her own. Just when he said that, he got his digivice. They all went back to his house and an egg came out of his computer, just like what happened with Pedra. She wished that she didn’t leave so suddenly. He was a really nice guy to be around, and when it wasn’t sneezing out fire, his digimon was kinda cute. Oh course, she left him his number so that he could call her anytime. She looked back over at Pedra, still talking with the flowers in front of her.
Her and Pedra had their differences and tend to bicker sometimes, but then there were moments like this that she was glad to have Pedra around. She was slowly starting to think less of Pedra as a pet and more as a friend. Pedra hummed happily at the flowers, knowing that they enjoy it.
"It's so nice to finally be outside for once." said Pedra, the leaves on her head taking in the sunlight.
Pedra was humming at the small flower for a little bit. Then she noticed that it started drooping slightly. The Tanemon looked intently at the flower, trying to figure out what it needed. Pedra looked over at Tasha, who was still staring deeply at her textbook. She looked up at the sky and sighed. She was beginning to see Japanese kana in her mind, thinking that she just has to take a break. The hot sun wasn’t really helping matters much. She opened her purse and got out a bottle of fresh, cool water. Pedra smiled widely. That is just what her little flower friend needed. She hopped on a bench and tapped Tasha’s leg.
“Hey, Tasha. My flower friend needs some water. You think you can give me your water bottle so I can give it some.” Said Pedra.
Tasha just stared at her digimon. “Psh. No way. I need this more. Tell you little friend to wait till it rains.” Tasha said.
Pedra glared angrily at Tasha. There was no way that she would deprive her flora buddy on what it needed. The Tanemon hopped on Tasha lap, surprised the girl and making her accidently drop her water bottle. The water started pouring out of the bottle, making it run down to the flower. It slowly started be more upright now. Pedra saw this, making her smile.
“Heehee. Thanks, Tasha. ” said Pedra happily.
Tasha gave Pedra a very angry look, her mouth forming a scary snarl. It was the only water bottle she brought with her. Sometimes she really couldn’t stand that digimon of hers. Why couldn’t she get one that was nice and quiet, and not annoying? Then Tasha looked over at the basketball court and saw a boy shooting some hoops. She thought that he looked kind of cute. She was always attracted to the tall, athletic types. When he stopped, he reached over for his bag and something fell out of it. Taking a closer look, it looks like one of the same devices that she and Kevin have, making her gasp a bit. Pedra noticed this and hoped back on her tamer's lap, looking over at the same direction.
"Hey. Whatcha looking at Tasha." the Tanemon asked her. That when she say the device the boy was holding. She squeeled and giggled a bit. "Hey. That guy has that doohickey you have. That means he has a digimon."
Before Tasha could do or say anything else, Pedra hopped off her lap and rushed forward to the boy. This anger her and she chased after her digimon. Then Pedra stopped right in front of the boy.
"Hey there. My name is Pedra. I see that you have weird looking device thing in your hand. That's awesome. So what kind of digimon do you have?"
Tasha finally caught up with Pedra and picked her up, covering her mouth so she wouldn't say anything else. "Girl, what's wrong with you? You can't just go blarting your mouth out like that." she said to her, barely noticing the boy. When she did, she stared back at him, looking very nervous and realizing the situation she was just in. "You..probably want an explanation, don't you...?" she asked him rhetorically, knowing full well what the answer is.

Hiro had pressed every button on the device, not that hard considering that there were only three and he still had no idea what the thing did or if it even worked. It was while messing with the device that someone spoke to him.
"Oh you know what this thing is..." Hiro trailed off as he looked at the person who had spoken. Except it wasn't a person. Standing below him was a little... plant... with legs. Hiro stared at the plant/animal even as someone quickly ran up to it and picked it up.
"It talked?" Hiro's mind went tilt for a moment before rebooting.
He shook his head and quickly gathered his composure. The plant thing was still there and was held in the hands of a girl. She looked like a foreigner, the dark skin was an obvious sign. In the back of his mind, he noted that she was fairly pretty, but he was a little more occupied with the green plant animal thing that spoke to him.
"Uh, yeah. An explanation would be nice. Do you know what this is?" Hiro smiled weakly and gestured to the animal in her arms. "And what is that?"

Well, the fact that he wasn’t freaking out as much as Tasha thought he would was good sign, at least. Now trying to explain about digimon to him was going to be another story. She didn’t even know where to start. She looked down over to Pedra, who was squirming a bit in her arms. She took a while to think of what she wanted to say.
“Well…How can I say this…” Tasha held Pedra in front of her. “This is actually a digimon. They’re little creatures that lives in our computers…I think.” She stopped a bit, know how ridiculous all of this sounds. She put Pedra back on the ground and reached in her pocket for her device, showing it to him. “As for this, I have no idea what it is. It think it might have something to do with Pedra changing shape or something.” She said, looking at her device and mostly wondering to herself aloud. The she turned her attention to the boy, feeling a bit embarrassed. “Sorry, I guess I should tell you my name. It’s Natasha, but everyone calls me Tasha.”
Pedra hopped over to the boy again, smiling widely at him. “Sooo…Where’s your digimon? Can I meet it? Huh? Huh? Huh?” Tasha picked up Pedra again, covering her mouth.
“What my friend means is that when I found the egg that Pedra was in, I also found that weird device thing. I was wondering if you found an egg wherever you found yours.”

Hiro was expecting an odd answer. A talking plant animal hybrid was not something that could be explained by any sense of normal. He expected anything from alien, a magic, or even being brushed off as something that he was not supposed to know because classified information.
He was still surprised by the answer the girl gave him. A digimon, something that lived in a computer. How did that even work? Natasha even looked rather sheepish about the explanation.
"A monster from the computer..." Hiro pinched his nose as he felt a small headache form. "That sounds really stupid."
It made zero sense. The explanation for the device was lackluster as well. Hiro looked down at the device that he had found and wondered if he should get rid of it. This entire thing sounded fishy and just screamed trouble. Natasha said that she found the egg with her device, so that meant he would be finding one soon too.
Still, Pedra was pretty cute for a plant thing. Maybe it wouldn't be that bad.
"I just found this thing after it fell out of my bag." Hiro shift the bag off of his shoulder and laid it on ground. "I don't think I'm going to find any...thing...in..." Hiro trailed off and stared down at his now open bag. Sitting there on top of his extra clothes was a giant egg. The egg was probably the size of a basketball and was covered in a bunch of purple lines that made it look like an over sized Easter egg gone wrong.
Hiro pulled the egg out of his bag and twitched a little. "{What?}" Hiro shift back into English as he stared at the egg in shock. "{What the hell?! How did this get here?}"

"Tasha!" Kevin called over to Tasha.
Still not quite sure how to get the Babydmon out of the house comfortably, Babydmon was once again crammed in his backpack. He started running toward Tasha. As he got closer he realized there was another guy there. Oddly enough, this made Kevin a little mad. When he had finally caught up to them, he huffed and puffed catching his breath.
"Hey-- Tasha" Kevin said in between breaths. "What's-- up?"
"Can I come out now it's cramped in here" Babydmon whined.
Kevin took the school bag off his back and opened it. Babydmon came whooshing out.
"Ahh, that's better" Babydmon breathed a sigh of relief.
"So Tasha, who is this?" Kevin said with a hint of animosity in his voice.

Even as Tasha, best as she could, explained where Pedra came from, he still didn’t look too freaked out, mostly frustrated and confused. She supposed that it was better than she thought it would happen. She just wish she could organized her thoughts and understand this stuff better. She chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of her head. He was probably thinking that she was some kind of freak or something…And she kind of like him too.
“Uh, yeah…I thought it was stupid too…But it’s all true and…” Tasha was looking even more nervous. She looked down at Pedra, still having that silly smile of hers.
Then the boy was saying that he found the device inside of his bag, but didn’t have a digiegg. That was weird, but not as weird as his friend’s pocket watch turning into one of those things. Suddenly he checked his bag again, but this time, he pulled out a giant egg from it. It looked like the same one Pedra came out of. But what was it doing in there? Could that really be his digimon? By now, Tasha realized that digimon can look very different. Of course, Pedra noticed the egg and smiled widely.
“See, Tasha. I knew he would have a digimon too.” She cheered loudly. Just before Tasha could ask any more question, another voice called out to her.
“Tasha!”
She turned and saw a familiar face coming over to her. It was Kevin. She wasn’t expecting to see him here today. He stopped in front of her, looking out of breath. The way that he was running, it seems like his house was on fire or something. She knew with that Babydmon would eventually do that someday. But it actually seem like he just wanted to hang out. His backpack was shaking, it didn’t take a lot to guess what was in there. Kevin opened his backpack and let out his Babydmon.
Pedra giggled happily when she saw her digimon friend. She pointed at the egg the boy was holding. “Look, Babydmon. It looks like we’re going to have a new friend.”
Then Kevin asked who the boy that Tasha was talking with was. She didn’t like the tone of his voice. It was almost like he was mad or jealous. She glared at him a bit. “Gee, boy, what’s your deal. It was like you got up on the wrong side of the bed or something.” She looked back at the boy. “Anyway, this is my friend Kevin. Kevin, this is…umm…Sorry, I didn’t catch your name.”

Hiro was really confused. The device and the egg had not been there before. He knew that. He had packed the bag himself. All it had was his towel, some extra clothes and some snacks for later. There was no electronic device or giant egg in there.
"Seriously, how did I not notice someone putting a giant egg in my bag?" Hiro stared at the egg in complete bewilderment. He was busy practicing by himself, sure, but that did not mean he would miss someone messing around with his stuff. He would have seen someone carrying a giant egg and stuffing it into his bag. Heck, he had picked up his bad when the device fell out of it. Surely he would have noticed something as heavy as this egg in his bag.
"Ugh, whatever. I'll let future Hiro deal with this." Hiro's head fell and collided with the egg with a dull clunk noise.
It was at this point that Hiro looked up from the egg and noticed that someone else had joined them. A blonde kid with a tiny dragon thing sticking out of his bag. Oh god, they're multiplying, Hiro thought with a slight twitch. Still, Natasha was gracious enough to introduce the boy. Luckily, Hiro had not spaced out long enough to miss the introduction.
"Right, my name." Hiro felt a little embarrassed that he had not introduced himself yet. He was a little more focused on the giant egg in his hands. "I'm Hiro Tsukino. It's nice to meet you."
Hiro raised an arm in a weak attempt at a wave with his free arm. "But yeah... I have no idea where this thing came from. What do I do with it?"

"It's not a "thing"! It's a living breathing, digimon inside that egg!" Kevin snapped at Hiro.
Kevin didn't like the way he talked about digimon. It was almost as if he would rather not have it.
"I wonder what kind of digimon it will be?" Babydmon replied to Pedra. "I wonder why you and I came out of computers, but this one came here out of seemingly nowhere"
"I rather know why this guy has a digimon" Kevin grunted gesturing to Hiro.
Am I being too much of a jerk? Is it because I'm jealous? Of what? Tasha's friendship maybe, or is it something more?
"So how did you meet him, Tasha?" Kevin asked Tasha.
There was a slight tone to his voice when Kevin said "Him". Like he was unwanted company.
Maybe I am being too harsh Kevin thought to himself.
"Anyway, it's nice to meet you Hiro" Kevin mumbled. "Will you be hanging out with us?"

Tasha couldn’t help but sigh happily when the boy finally said his name…Hiro Tsukino…His name sounded so exotic. It’s probably a common name in Japan, but still, it sounded so nice to her. As she kept watching them, she could relate to him more and more about find her digimon. She also wondered why she would have one and what all this was about. It was weird that his egg would just appear inside of his bag. Pedra though the same thing. She turned over to Babydmon.
“Yeah. It’s really weird. I was watching the bag the whole time, but I didn’t see anyone passing through. It could just appear from thin air.” She said to the dragon digimon.
Then Kevin snapped at Hiro and asked Tasha where he met him, still having an attitude. Why was he like this? Was he really jealous or something? She wasn’t too sure why. She just hoped that this would pass soon. “Well, Pedra just rushed over to him as soon as she saw that he had one of those devices we have. Then she started talking to him, freaking him out.” She gave her digimon a quick glare. “That little nasty still doesn’t have any manners.” Pedra replied to this by sticking out her tongue playfully.
Tasha looked back at Hiro as he was staring at his egg, still wondering what he should do with it. Tasha really wanted to help him, hoping that he would give her a second chance to try to explain what she knows about digimon. Maybe Kevin could help try to explain it too, if he wasn’t being a jerk, of course. He even asked if Hiro was going to hang out with them, like he was going be an annoyance. Tasha glared at him and then looked back at Hiro.
“Sorry…My friend is suddenly being a jerk. What we mean is that if you don’t already have any plans, maybe we could hang out together…Maybe I can try to explain this digimon stuff to you again.” Tasha asked Hiro, hoping that he would accept being with them. “Oh and about the egg, you should try rubbing the top of it. Those things actually hatch pretty fast.”

So he had apparently said something wrong. Hiro tilted his head and looked down at the egg in a little confusion. The egg was an egg, wasn't it? So why was the guy so angry about him calling it an egg. The circular logic just made his head spin and he quickly discarded the thought. Better to just apologize about it rather than try to figure it out.
"Sorry?" Hiro offered Kevin with tilt of his head. He was not really sure what he was apologizing about, but hopefully the sentiment would get through. "I'll be careful with it."
It felt a bit weak, but Hiro honestly had no idea what was the problem. So it would have to do. Still, he was really confused on this whole 'digimon' thing and now he had to deal with a giant egg and whatever was inside it. So more information would really be helpful.
Hiro eyed the plant digimon before moving on to the tiny dragon digimon in Kevin's bag. They seemed to come in a variety of shapes too. It would probably be best to get more info before he did something stupid.
Hiro blinked at the offer from Natasha as well as the advice. And it looked like he had a good starting source right here. He rubbed the back of his head and shot the duo an embarrassed grin. "Well, I was going to ask you to tell me more about 'digimon' anyways, so if you don't mind."
As Hiro accepted the offer, his free hand fell from the back of his head to the top of the egg. Taking the advice unconsciously, he rubbed the top of the egg. Unnoticed by Hiro, the device in his hand lit up and cracks started to appear on the egg cradled in his arm.

"Tasha's right Kevin, stop being such a jerk" Babydmon said to Kevin.
Maybe he was being to harsh on Hiro, after all he looked nice enough.... and he did aplogize...
"Listen Hiro, I'm the one who should apologize" Kevin admitted. "You didn't do anything wrong"
"Now that's better" Babydmon said to Kevin. "Just because you're jealous of--"
"I'M NOT JEALOUS!" Kevin snapped at Babydmon.
He wasn't jealous, was he?
"Kevin and Tasha siting in a tree K-I-S--" Babydmon sang until Kevin clocked him in the head.
"OW! what was the for?" Babydmon asked Kevin angrily.
"For not shutting your big mouth!" Kevin retorted.
He turned towards Hiro.
"Anyways, yeah we'd love to help" Kevin said with a smile. "Tasha knows more than I do, though"

Tasha was really glad that Kevin and Hiro made up, though there was part of her that thought maybe Kevin might still animosity towards him. Then all of the sudden, Babydmon started singing about them kissing, making the girl blush a bit. Pedra giggled at it, thinking that she could see Tasha and Kevin going out or maybe at least make their faces turned red. Tasha didn’t seriously think Babydmon would have thought that they have a crush on each other. She thought he was being stupid and annoying. She reminded herself to make sure that they stop hanging out with each other.
Then Tasha had an idea. She put Pedra down to the ground and grabbed Kevin’s arm. “Hey, Kev. I need to talk you for alone for a moment.” Then she turned over to Hiro. “Don’t worry, this would only take a second.” She took Kevin a few steps away from Hiro, turn their backs to them. “Listen, Kevin. You don’t have to jealous. You’re the first person that I didn’t have to translate every word. We’ll always be friends.” She hoped that this talk made him feel a lot better.
When they came back over to the others, Pedra came over at them with a big smile. “Sooo. Let me guess, you two were smooching over there, right?” she giggled before she made some kissing faces. Tasha growled and punched her over the head. “Oww…I was just kidding.” Pedra lightly chuckled, rubbing her head. Tasha looked over at Hiro and noticed that the egg he was holding was starting to hatch and his digivice was lighting up. Tasha pointed it out, looking shocked. “Whoa, look at that. The egg’s hatching.”

Hiro watched the play between the four with an amused look on his face. The digimon teasing the two and the girl's panicking was hilarious and the riposte by the humans only made it funnier. Hiro grinned at the laughter that the two digimon had at the human's expense. He privately wondered what was so important that Natasha needed to pull Kevin away, but considering what the digimon had been insinuating, he had a good idea.
So with all the interesting things happening in front of him, he could be forgiven for missing the hatching egg in his hands until it was pointed out to him.
"What?" Hiro blinked and looked down. The patterned egg in his hands was shaking and he could see cracks running sideways in the middle. "Oh!"
Hiro shifted the egg so that it was resting in his hands. The patterned egg started to glow and he could feel the heat coming off the egg. After a few moments of shaking, the cracks finally linked around the entire egg and the top of the egg popped up off of it.
Hiro flinched at the splintering egg shell.
"Naa...."
Hiro opened his eyes and looked down. Sitting in the remainder of the egg shell was, what Hiro could only describe as, a purple furry blob. It was round and covered in purple fur, except around it's mouth which was white. It had large amber eyes and animal ears sitting on the top of its body.
"Uh... hi?" Hiro offered.
"Hi?" The newly hatched digimon tilted his entire body like a puppy before breaking out into a smile that spread over his entire body. "Hi!"
Hiro grunted as the digimon launched itself into his body like a furry cannonball and knocked him on his ass. The digimon bounced on his chest while happily repeating the greeting like a spaz.
"Ugh, hey, ow, little help, gah!" Hiro panted out in between his new digimon's hops. His digivice clattered to the ground, he had dropped after being tackled, and displayed the hatched digimon's name to the world.
Dodomon was happily greeting his new best friend.

"Wow! Dodomon?" Kevin got excited again. Curiosity was Kevin's biggest weakness.
"Dodomon was it? How come you didn't come out of a computer?" Kevin asked the newly hatched digimon.
"Uh Kevin... he can only say a few words, he's a baby digimon remember?" Babydmon explained to Kevin.
"Oh right" Kevin felt a little embarassed. "Wait could you talk when you were a baby?"
"Well... only a few words" Babydmon replied. "You never said hi to me"
"True, anyways, What do you think about all of this, Hiro?" Kevin asked. "Are you excited to have a digimon?"
