One week.
That was the time that Syre gave herself to prepare for a day - and not a minute went to waste. Whether it was on her own, with Holly, or even with Mikemon, Syre spent as much time as she could either practicing or strategizing for this upcoming trial. After all, why wouldn't she?
Mom's had so many people praise her for her own deeds... there has to be a reason they want to follow her, after all.
However, despite that, Syre felt prepared for this bout. She was given one more advantage here, and after some thought the cat chose a particular place in the Valley of Dragons, just past a worn-down cliff. Huge, sturdy, jagged rocks encroached around the landscape, the place very much a barren battlefield. And so, Syre waited, the BlackGatomon sitting atop a taller rock - a bandage wrapped around her left arm and a small patch on her cheek.
"Tch... must have gotten a bit to Holly at the end..."
Whatever - after Mikemon's treatment, those were just scratches. All she had to do for now, was wait...

One week
To k that didn't seem like a very long time. Nor did it really upset her schedule that she had little trouble maintaining. Besides the mountain of paperwork and the patrols that she had didn't upset a bit of training either. She'd find herself in that particular place of the valley of dragons. She wasn't sure why Syre picked this locale of all of them but... she wasn't going to argue with it.
Stepping lightly the ultimate level beast digimon found herself staring at her daughter. It hadn't taken too long for her to get here, the landscape itself not really giving her too much of an issue. She would drum her fingers along her forearm and rotate one of those blades quietly.
"A whole week you asked for and were given. Do you feel ready now Dear?"
The shutmon tilted her head slightly and gingerly stepped closer. She wasn't looking to start quite yet but she'd see what else the BlackGatomon had to say to her. There was a lot here that they could go over, their own practices, what the other expected... so on and so forth but K found herself wondering another question. One that eased off of her lips quite naturally. She knew what syre probably would say to this, but she had to ask anyways...
"Do you think your enemies would be willing to give you such a lengthy period of training?"

And there she was.
One week ago, Syre didn't know how she'd feel today. She thought she might be nervous, tense, or 'something like that'. After all of her training, though, she actually managed to have a small, calm smile on her face as the Shutmon approached.
Was she ready? Would her enemies give her so much time to prepare?
"No, but that's why we always have to practice, right?" The cat gave a chuckle, and from her sitting position, a purple light pulsed around her. In that same flash of light, her form would take shape - to that of a Sistermon Noir, resting on one knee, pistols drawn into both hands. She seemed relaxed, the 'pulse' only taking a few seconds, as if she had grown much more used to this form.
"Don't hold back, mom." The ceramic Digimon gave a grin, her expression focused and ready, an air of tensity building between them...

The shutmon rolled her shoulder lightly, placing a hand on it to sort of check how well it was handling. After taking quite a few hits in her practices she had to make sure her own limbs were up to snuff. So there was some stretching and such that she went through while the other gave her answer. K would return that chuckle with one of her own.
Though the digivolution was one that she hadn't seen in a very long time she herself recognized the immediate danger of those firearms. Eyes flicked from one to the other in a sort of practiced ease, her own blades flipping to their 'attack' position at the 'sign' of immediate danger.
It was easy to see that after a week that syre had a little more practice in the form. Confidence practically oozed off of her in a sense of relaxation. Even against her mother that should be given a reason to worry. Cracking her neck the other told her to not hold back. Exhaling slowly that puft of icy air escaping before the shutmon tensed for a moment and leaped forward!
"I didn't intend to."
The shutmon would respond curtly bringing one blade up and over in a downwards swing to see what her daughter would do in response. Confidence and a relaxed calm nature would be a boon in battle but that wasn't what she wanted to see. It was easy to falsify those sort of things so how would you press forward? How would you make sure to keep it up? There would be hesitation on both sides no doubt, but that wouldn't stop k from trying to test her daughter...

Sorry if you're looking to fight me head-on, mom...
Syre's expression was confident, but the Sistermon knew very well from her experience with Cloak. As a gunslinger, the Sistermon Noir couldn't hold herself gracefully in close-range combat - but dear 'mom' was not going to accept that as an excuse for her failure. If she had to win this fight regardless, then Syre was going to have to hold her own. So as the Shutmon jumped, Syre tensed her left hand, her right aimed square at the Shutmon's center. A single shot rang out from that raised weapon, just as the Sistermon would kick off backwards from her perch!
And, in that same stretch, her left pistol earned a stark blue aura, the unmistakable power of ice flowing through the weapon. It was briefly raised in K's direction - but as she landed, she directed it downwards, striking the hard rock a few feet in front of her with a powerful shot. A mixture of ice and rock dust would kick up right into the air, effectively creating a cloud of smoke between them!
How's that? She kept herself silent, backpedaling slightly as she kept her ears open...
Syre uses her passive, 'Marksman', to fire a normal bullet in K's direction. Syre uses 'Ice on the Left!' to enchant her left pistol with ice energy, and directs her fire to the ground to create a smokescreen!

It wasn't a surprise to see that gun leveled at her, there was a tense moment as that shot rang out. K felt that bullet hit and she'd snort softly. It didn't hurt as much as she was expecting but still she wasn't exactly fast enough to dodge bullets. Then followed suit there was a smokescreen of ice and rock dust which made the shutmon pause for a moment. Huffing in irritation she'd simply kick off of the ground up and over the smoke dust. Taking a moment to orientate herself she'd lock on syre who would find her mother's mouth opening but that bright light that shone from her mouth was not words but instead a buster beam directed at her daughter of all things. The beam of light would leap forward intending to hit the other in it's large explosion. The myrid of smaller beams cascading around the point of impact making quite a sizeable radius that Syre would have to deal with. She was quick on the draw, she knew that her mother was a powerful close quarters combatant so she would look to keep that range. But unfortunately the Shutmon had things that would help her in a ranged battle. K was no stranger to fighting enemies that had a ranged 'advantage'. To others she would have to make up the difference somehow. So there was always practice, training and other things that would come up. She hoped that her daughter would recognize that her mother wasn't someone she could just keep that space easily from. The shutmon seemed to bound in place for a few moments, inspecting her daughter from a distance thoughtfully. Two guns. What would happen if I removed them from play I wonder?[/b] Log-K takes a bullet to the chest -K jumps up to get out of the smoke screen -K shoots a buster beam at syre. Passives: Oathbreaker: Vaccine types take increased damage from this digimon.
Bound: Using it's powerful legs, this digimon may treat even air as solid ground. Allowing it to basically "fly".
[RAM UPGRADE GIGA]: Crimson Mantle: Jesmon's signature cape; adjusted for size for each Digivolution. This cape has a few soft abilities each that scales with the level given. It may provide flight [if the wearer already can fly their movement is increased by one step] and it can block a single attack relevant to the power of the level of the host digimon before implementing a cool down of two posts for the block itself. This mantle may be passed to others but it's effectiveness for others is generally halved. Move: Buster beam: This digimon may shoot a beam from it's mouth, which upon contact of a solid surface explode, showering down several smaller beams in a small ring around it. The initial explosion is fifty feet in radius, while the smaller ones are ten feet in radius. This main explosion is much stronger than the smaller ones, while trivial to some can quickly add up if not careful. This move may be used every three posts. Cooldown: BB: [0/3]

Alright, Syre. Eyes and ears open...
'Just like practice'. Though both sides were obscured by the smoke, the Sistermon still had to take advantage of whatever information her opponent wanted to give her - so she kept her own movements relatively quiet, trying to pick up on any sounds from the Shutmon. Fortunately, K offered something more substantial than a mere clink of armor, a flash of light visible just above the cloud of smoke.
There she was - Syre's mother was airborne and focused forward. As far as Syre could tell, this was her best chance to use this - loading her ice-enchanted pistol, she raised her weapon and fired, her Piercing Bullet carrying right under that Buster Beam, aimed right towards K's chest! The Sistermon herself pulled backwards, crossing her arms in a tight guard as that first explosion threw her further back into the valley.
She would land, and skid backwards, front burned as she moved behind a rocky outcropping, letting those smaller explosions sort themselves out. But Syre wouldn't stay in cover for long.
Keep the pressure on her - don't let her just come to me!

It wasn't hard to work around the cover of smoke, honestly she could of done a myrid of different things other than leaping upwards and using her ability to fly. But it was the first thing to come into mind and would be easiest to pull off. Quirking a brow as she saw her daughter used the force of the explosion to leap away. Taking some damage and- Well she felt that piercing bullet hit her chest and she'd grunt sliding through the air with a somewhat frustrated huff. That one really smarted, she could feel the edge of the attack in her body. She was used to the cold so it wasn't really that bad as far as things were considered. Barest moments were used to consider her next step so she'd kick off of the 'ground' and continue forward. Bringing her hand up to grab at that large weapon she sported on her back. She had many a way that she could use this particular piece of equipment. Her two swords on her forearms switched to their sheathed position and her eyes locked onto the Sistermon with a somewhat deadpan look. Yes this was her daughter but she wasn't about to make it easy for the other to control the flow of things. She had a few tricks up her sleeves anyways! A direct hit - she heard the impact! And that Piercing Shot wasn't a slouch on its own, either: Shutmon or not, dear old mom would definitely at least have the wind taken out of her. And just as Syre said, she couldn't afford the Shutmon time to recover.
While she still had the momentum, as well as the advantage of range, she had to press it: she peeled out from her cover, both pistols held up just as K would make her approach. There was little tact to it: the Sistermon simply used the second biggest shot she had, a similar blue light filling the barrels of both of her pistols. K's tricks be damned, Syre just returned fire with a powerful blast, her Cryogenic Burst sending a surge of azure flame in the Shutmon's direction. If it hit, not only it would burn, it would really burn, spiking both K's senses of hot and cold at the same time!
C'mon!

K frowned a little bit at how this fight was going, yes Syre was holding her distance and holding her own but all she was doing was shooting. The shutmon couldn't really feel what syre was pushing for, she could only really grasp at the few fleeting straws. Yes she trained for this but that wasn't everything a knight was supposed to be. Gritting her teeth she'd continue forward just as that surge of azure flame started up. She'd furrow her brow and the cloak that she kept close to her at all times simply just wrapped around her as the Cryogenic burst surged about her. Though once the attack had ended syre would see that the form that she had attacked was much larger. Taller and her hands were replaced with blades. Her mother had used the cover of the attack to digivolve into one of her other ultimate forms. A pure white kyukimon with that cloak that seemed to be her staple equipment. This form moved much faster but there was an awkward moment of it falling through the air to land on the ground before it leaped forward moving much faster than the shutmon did! Log: -K used Crimson mantle to block Cryogenic burst -K used the cover of Cryogenic burst to slide digivolve to Kyukimon -K continues to move forward albeit much faster this time Passive: Combat Passive| Beast Dance: This digimon moves at unreasonable speeds; faster than it's cousins by a large margin this digimon is also largely frailer than it's cousins.
Combat Passive| Simple and Clean: This digimon is unsurprisingly simple in it's methods. What can one do with hands made literally out of blades? For this simplicity any melee/physical attack receive a medium boost in power while it's defense is reduced by a medium amount.

So a defense...
Seeing that burst of fire largely dissipate into that cape, Syre gave a blink as her mother used that same motion to cover her own transformation - to a Kyukimon! Immediately, the Sistermon's focus tensed, lowering both of her pistols down to her side. She recognized it, of course: the bladed weasel, with the shape of her feet and the reach of those claws, could not be treated the same as a Shutmon. Before, Syre could get away from firing at mid-range, but now?
Syre sprinted. She broke off to the right as the Kyukimon started to jump, circling roughly around the weasel's position. The ice faded from her left hand, an aura of red flame now infused into her right pistol!
Ice will just give her more footing to use. Keep your eyes open, now.
For the first time, Syre held her fire, keeping her attention keenly on K's actions!

The problem with trying to get away from the Kyukimon? Was that she was a predator, she was meant for the chase. She was meant for the hunt. There was not but a moment before the blades slammed into the ground pulling herself into a leaping bound that only got faster as the weasel tore forward, moving at speeds that were a mix of dangerous and obvious. But they had the underlying smarts of the warrior that was K. She saw that bluish aura switch for a red one, she figured that it would likely be something fire related. They had had small discussions of powers before. The whole Ice, Fire and whatever that third one could be called. Those icy blue eyes flicked from gun to gun for a moment before the weasel made a slashing gesture. She was still too far away to hit syre so why was she swinging? Syre would see those bladed length's mere inches from her. They were aiming at not the arms or body of the sistermon, but one of the weapons that she carried. If the sistermon had to rely on her weapons to maintain that distance and maintain her abilities then K would simply just remove them. Break them, and then see where her daughter would go from there. If she could even do anything without them. Log: -K's unreasonable speed helps her close the distance. -K uses Sector Slice to try to damage one of syre's weapons. Passives: Combat Passive| Beast Dance: This digimon moves at unreasonable speeds; faster than it's cousins by a large margin this digimon is also largely frailer than it's cousins.

Through the data streams it's blades go and make a swipe at the target for up to a range of a hundred feet. These blades spring up from thin air and act as though a melee attack at range. One post cool down. Cooldown: Crimson mantle: [1/2] Buster beam: [3/3] Sector Slice: [0/1]

Exactly as expected.
Even as the Kyukimon made her approach, Syre remained calm, knowing more-or-less that the weasel was going to try and close the distance. Her speed was a bit difficult hard to handle, but Syre saw it another way: the only way that the Kyukimon would be able to attack decisively was by closing straight in, right? A fifteen foot monster was definitely something that was a bit difficult to square off against, but Syre wasn't swayed.
The moment her mother gave that leap - and tensed her eyes to focus to aim at a specific area - the Sistermon gave a grin. Instead of clashing with her gun, Syre instead reached her left hand up, and pulled her cloak off her shoulder, letting it catch the wind in K's direction as it flung off her frame! As K was focused on a specific point, that cat-eared cape would briefly and completely obscure the Kyukimon's view of the gunner, the slash coming up empty as it tore away at the cloth.
Pop, pop!
At this close range, Syre let off two shots in two succession, both aimed for the center of the monster's frame. One was a 'normal' bullet, the other enchanted with a fierce flame.
'What could Syre do without the guns?' It seemed that Mikemon taught her more than just mere marksman training!
Syre uses 'Fire on the Right' and her passive 'Marksman' to fire two shots in K's direction.
The Sistermon uses her cloak as a blinder, obscuring the position of the smaller Digimon to ruin K's aim!

The calm before the storm. The wise edge before a whirling maelstrom of death and destruction. A tempered response was one she sought and it wasn one that she received. Her speed was something marvelous in this form for how big she was and Syre handled it wonderful even as the Kyukimon saw her reaction. Even as there was an obvious tint to this fight; syre was fighting on the back foot but she was using that to her advantage the whole way. That great leap let Syre's mother see that tenseness in her eyes. That grin, that sudden hand reaching up to pull off the cloak. She was using it as cover of all things! The wind pulled it in her direction and that cat ear cape was torn apart by the Kyukimon's scythe like hands. But then the popping sound let the kyukimon know that her 'prey' had escaped. Two shots as close as they were would make for some marvelous damage. If they hit and did what intended at least. It was a knee jerk reaction but the Kyukimon simply used her teleport to move out of the way of the bullet's trajectory. Now with her teleportation she wasn't like holly. Holly would use it to do something far differently. Holly would use this to get into blind-spots, get into places syre would have to cast about for. But for K? There was no going anywhere but forward. K herself didn't so much vanish as she simply loomed in front of Syre. Blades already coming down in a nasty sweep to attempt another disarming motion. She wasn't going to hurt her daughter too much, but this definitely would sting if Syre didn't get out of the way or something. Sure some of the others would of had varying levels of fights. Some would say that K went 'easy' on some, while being harder on others. Some had more to prove, some had less to prove. Some needed to be addressed in one fashion or another. But all and all K needed to see something that as of right now... Only she could see. Something she could see in her daughter. Something she could see easily, but she wanted to know more, she wanted to see more. She wanted to see this spark, this flame that she looked for from another angle! From another place entirely. There was that cold fire in her own eye, one that spoke challenge. They cried out, they begged her, they wanted to know. No. They demanded to know. Show me.Show me dear daughter that you too can protect this place. Log: -K used Shimmer step to avoid Syre's attack! -K made a basic attack against syre. Passives: Combat Passive| Beast Dance: This digimon moves at unreasonable speeds; faster than it's cousins by a large margin this digimon is also largely frailer than it's cousins.

While within combat it is restricted to just a fourth of that distance [100 feet] while also being at a cool down of two posts. Cooldowns: Crimson mantle: [2/2] Sector slice: [1/1]

Oh, my...
K wasn't taking this easy at all, was she? Not only had Syre's shots missed, but instead of K teleporting to cover, she appeared right in front of her with that Shimmer step! The Sistermon's eyes widened in surprise, gritting her teeth as she was brought near-point blank to the Kyukimon.
There was no good way to dodge to the left or the right. And to jump backwards would only keep her in range of those blades for another second or two - and would easily allow for the weasel to follow-up.
Maybe that was the thought moving through Syre's head, or maybe she Sistermon was acting on pure instinct. But instead of trying to dodge the blades directly, the ultimate instead took a charge forward. As opposed to K's swing, Syre instead moved for a full-body charge, intending to slam her shoulder right against the Kyukimon's chest. In doing so, K might find herself in an awkward position, where those blade-like arms couldn't easily cut away at someone pressing up to them!
As Syre did this, she'd grit her teeth, feeling that fire-enhanced pistol skip out of her hands, hit by one of K's blades. No matter, really: it was more important for her to keep her momentum!
Syre uses a basic attack to press forward and try and throw the Kyukimon off-balance. Piercing shot is ready! Fire on the Right duration: 3/3
