Old Dogs Teaching New Tricks [Kitt/Silence]

"Come on slowpokes, we're almost there!" The imp's voice commanded the two digimon that were walking behind him, not so much in a berating tone but almost an encouraging one. Almost.
The twins had been walking for a while down this woodland path, after having having taken two different trailmons that day. The first one had been to meet up with Kitt, the Spadamon they had been "tutoring" but a couple days ago. The second one was to take the three of them closer to their final destination, the Spartan Training grounds. What were they going to do there? Simple really, try to continue their collective training while also introducing Kitt to someone rather important in the twins' life, partly because they had grown significantly closer, partly because said person wanted to keep an eye on the twins' training to make sure there wasn't any possible collateral damage.
Well and to meet this Kitt guy face to face, of course.
The trio didn't take too much longer to get to their destination, though they would have probably done so a lot faster were it not for Gio's insistance on holding Kitt's hand so "he wouldn't get lost". Amusingly enough, Dio wasn't sure who was really in danger of such a thing, Kitt or Gio, but decided against making any comments about it and simply let the lizard have his way for now, as long as Kitt didn't mind it.
Meanwhile deeper into the training grounds, on a small bench off to the side of what seemed like an empty playing field sat a man with bleached white hair and dark skin, wearing a sleeveless black jacket not unlike those Dio wore at this moment. He was half glancing at the digivice on his hand, half looking up at the field in front of him, every so often taking off his eyes from the screen to have a better look at the field, as if waiting for something to appear. As soon as his eyes met the trio, it was clear he had been waiting for them. He stood up from his seat, and made his way to them. It would probably be obvious to Kitt who this man was once he noticed Gio's excited tail wagging.
"Took you guys long enough! I was starting to wonder if Gio had fell down the cliff on the way here. Again." He said in an joking tone, standing up in front of them with his hands on his hips. Dio let out a knowing sigh, while Gio looked to the ground, pensive.
"It was only those two times..." The lizard mumbled to himself, scratching his head. For once his happy attitude seemed to falter for just a moment, instead replaced by a somewhat embarrassed look. It didn't last long however, as Carlos soon knelt close to him before giving the kiddish digimon a pat on the head.
"I'm just messing with ya, dummy." He chuckled, before turning to look at this unfamiliar face that was with them. "So, I'm guessing you're Kitt right? I'm Carlos." He greeted the Spadamon, extending his hand out for a handshake, a small but friendly smile on his face.
"Pleased to finally meet you. These two told me a whole bunch about you, so something tells me they probably like you."

“We’re coming Lord Dio-sama!” The Spadamon responded as he tried to pick up the pace, only to be locked back to Gio’s side again who was holding his hand. It puzzled Kitt as to why the Black Guilmon was so adamant on holding his hand. He said it was to make sure that he wouldn’t “get lost”, but why would he? Even if were to get separated from the two, it wouldn’t be too hard to find a scary-looking good guy like his teacher and his big and strong, yet innocent-looking brother.
Kitt was really surprised when he got a message on his D-Terminal from Dio this morning, informing him to come meet the two of them so they can go to the Spartan Training Ground to continue his training. Kitt was half expecting the two of them to kidnap him in his sleep like last time, considering how they were so sneaky that neither Eris, Logane, or anyone in ICY Fate heard them. In response, the two got a big earful from the Gigimon.
Despite that, both Eris and Logane were ok with Kitt receiving some training from them as long as he didn’t get into any trouble with them. After all, it was thanks to them that he was able to evolve to the Champion level successfully, although they still had to help him to not easily succumb to his pure rage in his Leomon form, which was the biggest detriment for the most part. Was it something deep in his psyche that was causing this? He didn’t know for sure. But Kitt has faith in both his new master, and himself that they would find a way to overcome this obstacle.
Making their way into the training grounds, Kitt couldn’t help but get a blast of little nostalgia; seeing all the Digimon honing their strengths and abilities, it was almost like it was yesterday that he came with Eris and met both Dio and Ophelia for the first time.
What would everything be like if he hadn’t met those two?
Lost in his thoughts thinking about that day, Kitt would quickly come back into reality as he noted Gio’s tail wagging back and forth. He looked in front of him and not a Digimon, but a human. In response, Kitt opted to hide behind Gio, nervous. This is the first time he ever laid eyes on a human; had only ever heard about them through conversations between other Digimon. From those talks, none of them were about how dangerous they were, but he kept his guard up nonetheless.
When the human offered his hand and introduced himself as Carlos, Kitt would slowly extend his hand out, shaking the tall human’s hand. “N-nice to meet you, sir…” He said in a shy tone, shifting his gaze from Carlos to the ground.

Suffice to say, silence’s day was actually pretty decent. She had gotten to work with some of the trainers here to better herself and better her teaching methods which were fairly rough. The shutmon had a nasty habit of just throwing herself at those that she trained to see how they fought rather than inspecting them or doing pre work with. There had been some complaints about it and she looked to fix it!
The shutmon was working on sharpening one of her swords after the fact of one of her normal training periods when she smelled something… Familiar. Like a dusky warmth, a friendly fire and… Well the stench of the human world was hard to miss. She’d sniff a bit from one of the tents and pushed out of it; leaning to look this way or that. She’d blink a few times and step forward, still sniffing at where these scents were coming from.
”They come all the way here and don’t say hello?”
Her faux anger was enough to make her huff and she’d start walking. The stronger of the three scents was the human smell; so that one had been here longer yes… But that still didn’t excuse anything! The shutmon hummed along to herself and came around a ‘corner’ of sorts to spot the four.
A human, a Guilimon, an Impmon and the Spadamon.
The last one she didn’t recognize but given the angle and what was going on… Well they must of been friends. Given that Gio was holding their hand for whatever reason. Was the last one lost? It was hard to know. That didn’t stop what happened next. She was practically a hurricane in motion and likely before the four realized anything she’d be scooping one after the other in her arms in a big ol bear hug; growling in a rather friendly fashion.
”Yah come to my neck of the woods and you don’t even give me as much as a hello! Jeez I swear you all don’t like me! Who’s this lil guy?”
The shutmon was grinning ear to ear; her entire posture was that of friendliness and well… She seemed to be missing her stereotypical arm blades in favor of just a single hilted sword on her hip. Likely training someone in more traditional combat but given the fact it had runes up and down the blade must of meant there was more love to it than that!

Carlos had to do a significant effort to stop himself from petting the head of Kitt. His looks, even general demeanor brought to mind a shy kitty. Of course, he knew better than to do such a thing to digimon that he didn't even know, so he settled for that rather meek handshake.
"It's ok Kitt! Carlos is a good guy, you don't have to be scared." Gio said encouragingly, tugging lightly at the spadamon's other hand with a smile. The young man shook his head, recognizing the digimon's body language as something entirely different than simple fear.
"Gio, I don't think that's the cas-" He wasn't allowed to finish that thought, as the 5'16' sized human was effortlessly lifted from the ground by someone, followed by both of his partners and even Kitt, before they all found themselves pressed tightly against the chest of someone rather taller (and furrier) than any of them, all of this in such a short timespan neither the human nor twins really had much of a time to even react. Well, until they recognized the voice and face from the one carrying them, of course.
"Silence sister!" Gio was the first to react, immediatelly reciprocating the her hug with his own, wrapping (or at least trying to) his arms around her neck in a friendly, almost family like fashion, smiling from ear to ear. Once the initial surprise had passed Dio simply let out a sigh, patting the Shutmon's arm while giving her a small but rather friendly smile. "Hey Silence, you big oaf." It seemed after airing out most of his frustrations back in Rustport all that time ago he seemed far more relaxed when around the Shutmon, perhaps even more so than back when she was still known as K.
As for Carlos, well he was pretty used to being manhandled like this by digimon twice his size all the time, so he was quick to also half reciprocate the hug with one arm. "Well we would have said hello if we knew you were here!"
It was only when she addressed the Spadamon she was also carrying in her hug that the trio remembered Kitt was with them. The three gave him a quick glance, mostly to check if he was still breathing after the sudden appearance of the Shutmon.
"Oh, you mean Kitt? He's a new friend!" Gio replied with a smile and a nod.
"We've been trying to train him and teach him a thing or two. We figured here was probably the best place to do that and have him meet Carlos...and I guess you too, now." Dio said, scratching the back of his neck, hoping the spadamon was taking all this sensory overload well.

Kitt would glance down at the rugged soil with patted grass, his tail curved beneath his body in nervousness. He'd begin twiddling his thumbs in a sort of fidget. Contrary to Gio's reassuring comment, he was not at all scared of the white-haired human, rather he was scared of messing up his first impression. On their way to the training grounds, he'd subtlety rehearse on what the meeting would be like and how he would respond. The Spadamon wanted to make sure that everything he said or do is impressionable and not wrong. So far, the meeting wasn't what he thought it would turn out.
Everything here was throwing him off, and he wasn't sure how to feel about it. Digimon all around were so close together in this area of the training grounds for no reason, as if they didn't care about personal space. It wasn't like this the last time he was here, so why now? It was as if he was slowly being squeeze into a tight corner with no way out.
Just as Kitt mustered up the courage to formally introduce himself again, he was suddenly lifted off from his feet by a tall figure and pressed closely against their chest. His ears picked up in alert, his tail swishing side to side in confusion and fear. It happened so fast that he couldn't even properly register what had happened.
The dialogue between the mysterious stranger, Dio, Gio and Carlos would fall on deaf ears to Kitt as his breathing started to pick up rapidly. He wasn't having a panic attack, but he was close to. Regardless if this Digimon was friend or foe, Kitt started wiggle his way free, landing on his butt. He put his hood over his head and quickly ran to hide behind a nearby pillar.
It was times like this where he wished Eris was with him; she would come to his rescue when it came to situations like this.

”Hey you three! It’s good to see you again! And ah? Yeah good! I woulda been mad if you hadn’t!”
Silence let out a small laugh; glad that her friends were here as it would take off the edge of the locale a bit. Everyone was always so grumpy or just kept to themselves. She’d blink however when the spadamon not only didn’t answer her inquiry but seemed rather upset as the other squirmed out of her grip without a word and ran to hide behind a pillar.
She’d stand there as though she had been rather surprised by this fact and without another word would set the others down. She knew how it could be when your personal space was suddenly taken from you and she also knew not everyone was good with how she greeted folks. Figuring that he was a friendly outspoken sort from the get go might have been a bad idea.
There wasn’t even a pause in her motion, one moment she was a wolf… and the next she was a fox. Much smaller. Much less imposing, much less… what she was. Sure she still had an immense signal and sure she was still someone new but she’d be careful about approaching the other. Staying on the other side of the pillar before squating down and tilting her head. She’d hold out a hand to the others so that they wouldn’t approach. Figuring it’d be best if she did this rather than have them explain her.
”Ah piss… I didn’t mean to startle you buddy. Just saw you talkin to my friends over there so figured you’d be okay with a hug. Spose shoulda introduced myself or at least announced myself differently. C’mon out. I won’t hurtcha I promise.
Silence stayed put for a moment in the same manner that she had squatted down. Her voice intially had been loud, brash, arrogant. Full of vim and vigor. But the softness that she spoke with was almost K like. Motherly and understanding. It was a switch she could flick given the situation and it was kinda surprising that she could manage it so well given how she was.
”Spose I should have taken some tips from holly with dealing with folks like this eheh… Girls got this sort of stuff down to pat...”
